Most recent bug that comes to mind is all the killers running basement build and black screening survivors when being hooked there, they didn't ban for that and shouldn't ban for this but should fix it immediately, it's like the forum is unaware that there have been major game breaking bugs for both sides since legion that the devs haven't banned for, they're just ignoring everything inbetween and saying "look you did ban us for exploiting something that's broken".

I remember that one vividly as well, I kept forgetting about it and putting survivors in the basement then realising when they just stayed in there and feeling very very guilty :(

That would've been harder to either ban for or disable than any perk or addon related one I guess. But agreed I don't think the "devs leave bugs for OUR side in on purpose because they hate us" attitude is helpful at all

  • "Sure we can say these are the Top 1% of Killer vs the Top 1% of Survivor and these does not represent the average games we always have but can you still say that after BHVR implement their MMR system? It will come to a point eventually that every one of you will encounter Sweat after Sweat opponents Killer or Survivor."

Those of us on the forum might be the nerdiest part of the community but I doubt we're all in the top 1%.

If the MMR system somehow works properly then you should be facing challenging matches which will sometimes mean losing. The killers and survivors in those videos should be faced off against each other in public matches, and balance issues with the top players going against each other should be more obvious as a result. Current matchmaking would be throwing one of those survivor teams against a rank 19 wraith, or one of those killers against an urban evasion squad.

  • For some reason bhvr fits the legs of all my survivors with magnets so I can't help stepping in traps even placed in completely random spots. I hope bhvr fix this balance issue as trapper is currently overperforming (against me)

  • They're got going to stop, it's childish yes but it's a very ingrained part of this game's culture.

Focus on getting some points, or your next match, or what you're going to do after playing dbd.

You can chase them out and try and get some points or go around the map breaking pallets and walls for the same purpose, or go afk, take off your headphones for when the vault spam starts and get yourself a drink or something.

There's no point scrutinising it. Why would survivors do this when you've played nice and you're playing clown with meme perks and they're a running the meta etc etc. It doesn't matter. Their intentions or justifications don't matter. They don't really matter either, you're probably never going to see them again and if they want to spend the last two minutes of your time together teabagging thin air at an exit gate you aren't even near, well we all have our own definitions of fun.

If you're determined to punish it in some way, noed + bloodwarden + slinger. But I think training yourself not to care is more productive.

You can really tell coconut has started their propaganda video's again.

Really something for him to search for something that happened 2 years ago to desperatly try and prove how biased the devs are.

Also didn't people get banned for using wake up too when it was bugged?

People didn't get banned for wake up, no. There were Quentins everywhere and several times there were three wake up users (the survivor not using it being me, I don't play killer when this kind of crap is going on)

It'll happen with a killer perk at some point. They'll make some minor adjustments to one of Kate's cosmetics and that will somehow cause play with your food to never lose stacks or agitation to increase movement speed to 300% or something. When that does happen they can either start banning for it and cause a killer outcry (a justified one in this case) or they can just let the other side be unplayable for however long until they bother fixing it.

Or they could put in a way to disable perks and addons which they should've done years ago when wake up and legion blades happened.

Also yes calling this a shadowbuff is ridiculous

  • Wouldn't it be great if when something like a perk or character was busted in this way it could just be disabled until fixed? Sadly technology just hasn't reached this level

    Solid bait post

Ignoring our legitimate concerns when swf attempt to psychologically damage us with tactics like bringing broken keys disregards the lived experience of killer mains.

Referring to said experiences as "bait" is violence, plain and simple.

  • Hard to believe I know, considering how chill most Freddies are

Starstruck I get, but Agitation sounds like an odd choice.

Agi is good on hag, less time spent carrying survivors which is the ideal time for the others to set off as many traps as they can. Also easier to get them into the basement which is where the fun begins (for the hag anyway)

I got Adept Billy last night, and I was able to down a whole group in matter of minutes. But I do agree Bubba is better, the only reason i was able to win as Billy was because I'm a Blight main and I'm really good at blight but that's it. I do think He didn't deserve to be gutted to such a degree,

It doesn't carry over with me, I can play blight fine but billy and oni no

  • 1 match on each side isn't really enough to say, although I generally agree. I never played billy much before except for dailies etc, and he was kind of fun but playing him afterwards just feels sluggish and unpleasant. It's not even the overheat (although micromanagement isn't exactly fun and it makes little sense, spamming and missing chainsaws already punished itself)

I'm happy to play bubba though. Billy is way more effort for way less reward. Billy's still the more fun to play against, not that I see him much. Also I really didn't want to see the licenced chainsaw killer gain this much ground over the free chainsaw killer, for obvious reasons.

I've supported pretty much every killer change whether it's a buff or nerf, or at least I got the thinking behind it. The billy nerf (addons aside) is still partly an "according to the statistics" brainfart and partly a cynical attempt to get people to shell out on bubba and oni and it should be reverted.

No-one expects a Padded Jaws Trapper to win. Not even the most ignorant of survivors. And certainly not myself. So, playing without it kind of feels like taking training wheels off.

Oh okay I actually get that. If I've had a few rough games I'll usually play terror radius wraith with dumb perks bc if I win it's a nice confidence boost and if I lose it doesn't matter at all bc what else should I expect

  • @MadLordJack said:

Yes. The pressure of playing Trapper without Padded Jaws wrecks me. Which sounds like I'm being sarcastic, but I'm genuinely not.

    ? Please elaborate

  • Yeah if the conditions are more like MoM or deliverance, and not just something that automatically happens.

Otherwise they could remake no mither into something where you start healthy but the first hit that would one shot you perma-breaks you instead.

The funny thing here is that I truly do believe when they rework her add ons the confetti headtrap will be an actual add on for extra blood points like clowns confetti bottles or other meme add ons that do nothing but reward you blood points.

So your wish will probably come true with that.

    🐷💖

An add-on where the traps don't kill but they don't give any indication of that (and all box searches automatically fail) could be kinda fun. It'd only work once obv but imagine a panicked survivor searching every box (with an extra box addon too) before the timer hits zero and then confetti

  • It's a pretty good clip (so far)

  • I want to try it, I already sometimes use ps4 controller in my left hand and mouse in my right which I'm not sure I'd recommend. A friend of mine sent me some wall of text this morning about how she'd been pwning noobs in fps games using one but she's a weirdo who does things like play MGS on european extreme

Lol -- you're probably right. Followed by a Sluzzy post saying a match like this shows why Freddy is horribly OP. 🤣

That said, somewhere in there I think I mentioned that I don't worry about flashlights in a lobby -- 4 med-kits, though, are a different story. Flashlights can be countered. I remember hearing OhTofu saying pretty much the same thing -- when you know everyone is racing for a flashlight save, no one is working on gens.

I want to see a Tony v Sluzzy showdown. Winner gets to join the balance team

  • Siege has started doing now, it's a really cool feature. You can store up to 10 games at a time and watch them from a bird's eye view so you can see what everyone was doing at the same time. I'd imagine the records could help with catching cheaters as well to some extent

I wonder how they did pip wise, with all of the bold points they got for interacting with me. The Rank 1 definitely didn't depip -- I don't know if any of the Rank 2's were a Rank 1 beforehand or not.

Ironically given the amount of pure flashlight activity doubt they got much in the way of lightbringer :p

  • Definitely more interesting than a gen smash squad I'll give them that.

Also I'm salivating at the thought of Lord Tony playing against this

  • You're overselling OoO. Im not saying it'll be useless but I don't see it being that common. The most common aura perk for killers by far is BBQ, often the only one they'll be running, and OoO against bbq won't tell you anything that kindred wouldn't (except that they have the perk, which you can usually assume anyway). It'll be very good against some killer aura perks and add-ons, especially something like black incense but again they aren't used that often.

It'll also be insane in some situations (i.e. with mettle of man, which is also situational, temporary and takes effort to pull off) but you don't seriously think the new object is worse than before do you?

Also if it does become meta that's one less sprint burst, dead hard, adrenaline, unbreakable or one of the other survivor perks beloved by killers that they aren't running, I'll take it.

  • @ALostPuppy said:

It doesn't show undetectable killers, but it should. It's dumb that they changed that.

    Kindred should override undetectable yeah.

That said when my solo q teammates see me getting camped with an aura their usual response is to all get off gens and form a protective crouch circle in a 20 metre radius around me

  • I don't want nurse nerfed. Sadly I can't say the same for Rin-chan (´д`)

But a killer overcommitting to a chase like that on any map is a bad idea. At least on Gideon 2 or 3 super good pallets can be gotten rid of in the same space of time as a chase on other maps before a survivor has even dropped their first pallet. It’s so easy on this map to get rid of a few pallets and then switch targets.

I've had ok games in there with stronger killers but I've played on there as pig and wraith and it was extremely not fun. Every survivor I had just ran to a pallet, camped it, dropped it, over onto the next. Switching survivors doesn't matter much because they all do it and they can drop 5 pallets and still have plenty of time. Meanwhile, obviously, the other three are doing gens. Getting the first hit is easy enough because stealth gang + indoor map but there's no getting another one in any reasonable amount of time. So I play pallet kicking simulator until I give up, focus one, camp them then trade hooks, which is not any more fun than endless pallet kicking but I'll get more points from it at least.

Imo maps like the game existing encourage unfun playstyles from both sides, and encourage killers to just not play anyone except nurse and spirit.

You also might just be a much better killer player than me if you're doing well with low tier killers on there, which is fine with me, but iirc I haven't seen anyone do well on there with them if the survivors are using the map effectively.

  • Some players will shriek at you regardless of what happens in a match. I got a 3k a while back and the Meg who lived was raging afterwards because she "shouldn't be escaping against a red rank killer"

Do you think she'd be less agitated if I'd killed her? I suspect probably not

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/243869/yeah-people-are-abusing-breakdown

Its funny how many killer mains complain about breakdown now and using pallet stun glitch at the same time. Nearly every killer i got since pallet glitch tried to use it for their favour and hit me through every single time, so im not even sad that people are abusing this for you guys.

Killer bad? Killer bad because not stun? But survivor bad because breakdown? No, killer bad breakdown. Survivor bad swf genrush teabag bUt killer bad facecamp slug

  • @Phasmamain said:

Yeah it’s weird they can’t just disable the perk. All but 2 people use it anyway

Did they disable wake up when it was bugged? I honestly can’t remember

Nope, just lobbies full of Quentins til they eventually fixed it

  • I sometimes dodge ttv survivors if I'm not in the mood for there being a record of my horrible plays but when I don't I normally visit their stream afterwards and get a positive response. Obv with ttv killers I don't get the option but they're also fun to watch afterwards. Had a myers streamer recently who only referred to me as "that f-ing feng min" which amused me.

  • @syain said:

Honestly I don't know why I didn't expect this to turn into a killer vs survivor discussion as everything does in these forums. That's my bad. Thought I said something pretty basic anyone who wants this game to be healthy should just agree with. Really didn't mean this to look like one of these "survivor bad" posts but it seems you can't talk about something a specific side suffers with without it being interpreted as an attack to the other side. So immature lol.

    "Killer bad, survivor good"

"Actually it's survivor bad, killer good!"

Do you mean to say you don't relish this level of intellectual debate? A dish best served constantly

  • I think you mean "breakdown tech"

  • It's actually ridiculous that after this has happened before they still haven't implemented a way to disable perks and add-ons until they eventually fix it. Alongside making it clear that there'll be no consequence for using bugged perks the message might as well be "don't worry, go have some fun with it while you can"

  • @TheClownIsKing said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2119072#Comment_2119072

Just for the record though, Insidious is actually a fun and decent perk on Wraith simply because survivors will never expect it.

Kick a gen, wait hidden with Insidious, listen for them to return to the gen (don’t look in the direction in case of Spine Chill). Because survivors will be expecting to hear the wailing bell before you’d normally get a hit in, they’ll never see you coming.

Yeah that's exactly what I do with dragon's grip and bone clapper to boot 😄 not always successful but pretty fun, the survivors usually comment on it in postgame

  • It's the same crap as with the old wake up bug. But ideally you wouldn't have to put up with it, and you wouldn't have to ban for it, because normal game developers have a way to disable things like this until they're fixed.

  • Even so, I'd expect them to want someone instantly recognisable

  • Ethan would be a strange choice, even playing as him in RE7 you only have a vague idea of what he looks like.

  • In all the situations mentioned the way it would currently work is you can get the unhooked person downed avoiding BT and then they'll dstrike you before leaving anyway.

If it's endgame you might as well camp nearby and focus on any rescuers instead.

  • Yeah I generally felt pretty helpless against decent survivors with him. These being people that have years of practice dodging huntress' beachballs and using the environment against her - now just hit them 16 times. I mainly played him before the bugfix and that was even worse, was getting beaten by pretty terrible survivors. It doesn't feel good having some brainless david that you could've straight-up deleted with any other killer try and flashlight you at the exit gates. Although he's actually aiming at your shoulder.

But I was optimistic and tried to play him again after he got buffed and got a group who knew what they were doing on pale rose, and just...I'm done with him.

  • There's lots of things they could stuff in the gaps in the free track (and replacing those charm recolours that not a single player seems to use) a rift booster like you mentioned, the same thing but for bp (have your own personal double bp weekend!) Maybe another thing that lets you instantly prestige a character one level etc...

But most of all they have to reduce the grind bc feeling compelled to play dbd even though you aren't in the mood might be good for player amounts in the short term, it's gonna keep burning people out.

  • Yeah ._. I went for a nice holiday in purple ranks thanks to pre-bugfix trickster but then I went back to playing other killers.

  • If you're lucky you'll go against me, who plays like a drunk raccoon smacking the keyboard and mouse and runs stuff like insidious on wraith but who is almost always in killer red ranks for some cursed reason

  • It's still soon but I would still say he's the weakest. You don't need to abandon chase if a survivor reaches the shack with pig, or any other killer.

Ofc there's always going to be a killer who is weakest and strongest of the bunch but those ranges should be capped with what we already have - we don't need anyone stronger than nurse or weaker than trapper (who I'd place as second weakest after trickster these days outside of basement builds)

  • @Sonzaishinai said:

Babysitter could actually really use the new ds style of deactivates whenever you progress your objective.

Giving the unhooked survivor no scratchmarks or blood untill they touch a gen or totem or whatever would make it so much better without being abusable

This is good, you should put it in suggestions

  • I'd prefer not to

  • I'm not gonna turn this into a "what side is easier" thing because those are always a mess, but if you're having too easy a time of killer with "camping, tunneling, ruin + undying, NOED, etc", you know you don't have to do/run that stuff, right? Most killers even have a brown addon that mangles their power, some of them are more fun than people give them credit for (i.e. wraith's one)

  • @Phasmamain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2023709#Comment_2023709

I don’t know about that. The current rift is for nurse so numbers could be inflated but enduring is very common on killers like Freddy Myers and Ghostface so quite common from my experience

I run enduring on some killers but it's been a long time since I've seen it on a killer I'm going against.

I came across the first Myers I saw in ages yesterday, but my team killed themselves on first hook :)

Honestly, I am mostly pushing for fun changes like making blade bounce base kit because tbh I do think they will EVENTUALLY listen and buff him like a month or two after he goes live and is bullied at like a 30% kill rate for a while.

So I just want him to be more enjoyable, I can live with him being under powered as hell for a bit, if it means making him more fun to play as first.

I'll def still play him either way. I mostly want ricochet basekit because it'll be fun and it'll give him something that huntress/slinger/PH/plague don't have even if he's still weaker than them, although I wouldn't expect to be pulling off anything particularly impressive with it all that often

I'm hardly innocent. Like I wrote before, when I wrote that comment, the context was all in my head and honestly, replying "and?" Is like me getting upset at someone for not being psychic.

Reading it back, yeah I can see how some can read it as mocking. I should also apologize. I am sorry if it came off like that. I didn't mean for it to be anything other than just a playful sandbag towards the trickster.

    No worries <3
