Both long range and the POTD style ones at vaults and pallets.
For long range I'm running the add-on that makes the birds take slightly longer to repel and the one that makes the aura visible slightly longer after they start repelling, good value for a yellow and a brown

Is there another way to consistently and reliably use birds?
Downs and injures. I'm still learning but I'll still get a few of each per match (and usually throw because I'm avoiding m1s just for practice)
some of the more experienced artist mains I watch get around half if not more of all injuries per match via birds
-
If you're only using birds for zoning and tracking then yeah that doesn't sound very interesting.

They wont gut smowdown without changing gens or objectives. Doing so would really bring the fatal blow to the game.
There is a reason why there are so many slowdowns perks in the game and why everyone uses one of them. It's not because its easier but because its mandatory in the current state of the game. Just as bt should be basekit on survivor side by now.
Yeah I'm (cautiously) hopeful there'll be some good base changes along with them

Its really the worst argument out there
The game is bamanced around slowdown. It means that everything is balanced around the FACT that people HAVE to run slowdowns. You can be the best killer out there, if you play against a competent swf without slowdown, you'll lose most of your matches. Thats not a "you got carried by slowdown".
Let me play csgo with only pistols to get to my true rank. I wont get carried by ak and awp. That's how stupid your argument is
I'm sorry that slowdowns are such an integral part of gameplay to you that going without them would feel like playing an FPS with pistols only, that sounds genuinely unpleasant.
Most survivors can be beat without them. A decent & coordinated team running their own meta perks? No, you'll lose, but losing sometimes is a small price to pay for not having to run the same crap every single match.
Anyway a load of them are probably going to be gutted at the same time as the survivor second chances, it's a good a time as any to try something different.
-
I do like it on him but even more on artist
-
Usually get this kind of thing if I play at a weird time of day or the previous killer dodged

Ruin is good if you can put on pressure.
blood favor it fantastic on trickster, artist, even plague
Noed can get you a 4k, I've done it many times myself learning a new killer, get absolutely stomped then, then downing everyone
Plaything makes tunneling and catching survivors off guard really easy.
Haunted Grounds punishes survivors for doing a side objective.
Third Seal, Huntress Lullaby, Thrill of the Hunt, and Crowd control I think are kind of bad tho.
Huntress' lullaby can be fun on doc, otherwise I wouldn'tr really bother
-
Yeah I get this for the first killer match of the day. Just try to empty your mind and queue up, focus on whatever challenge you're working on.

I mean there's a reason why most perk played on killers are slowdown perk, no matter how skilled they are.
Slowdown perks are a trap though, if you keep winning with them you'll just get survivors that you can't beat without them.
-
People still have a problem with moris? :/
-
I don't play pinhead much at all and even without lethal you can often make a good guess, especially on some maps
Me, very much not hacking:

Bit disappointed there's no screenshot of you on the floor this time. That said, I'm really liking the 1/5 on the "did you have fun?" meter and the general demogorgon portals OP part.
7/10

At least it isn't the worse version where you have to do that and then escape

Yeah.
I turned chat off and stopped caring about the game.
Everyone's a bot to me, now.
If I finish a tome challenge early in a match or get bored, I'll throw YouTube on.
The results of matches no longer mean anything to me.
The fun of others no longer matters to me.
The accumulation of Rift Tiers is absolute.
The Tome is all now. Tome. TOME.
Maybe this is the way forward tbh
-
Yeah it feels more grim than usual atm. People dcing after getting downed pretty much every game (are the penalties off? It really feels like they're off) and the last two survivors taking the game hostage out of spite if there are still multiple gens left seems to be happening more and more often 🙄
(fyi killers- if you're searching for the last two survivors and they haven't touched a gen in a good while, go to the basement. 9/10 times they'll be in there climbing in and out of lockers)
-
Saying "nice genrush" is pointless, whining in chat is never productive. Also claiming genrush when survivors just spawned spread out, or you went on a pointless 5 minute chase and all the gens got done.
I guess if I were that killer I might roll my eyes that the survivors felt splitting up and smashing out gens was the only option they had when faced with the almighty clown, but that's just how it goes sometimes. Type GG and onto the next.
-
@amazing_grace said:
Literally, the only times I have won on that map is by either defending a three gen or they made a mistake in main building basement. The map is very difficult to play as killer. Sometimes you can get lucky with a totem spawn, but even then this map has been released long enough that most players can still find them.
Totems there are often easy to find but awkward to get to. Good for boons, bad for hexes
-
There's a lot of challenges that involve gens and toolboxes rn. I don't know what's up with the DCing though, I thought the forum was exaggerating but then I got on myself and nope

I'll preface this by saying, when I play survivor, I run Sprint Burst.
I really think Dead Hard has gotten a bad rap, because it is being run by the most skilled survivors in the game. So it looks so good because the most skilled survivors are using it, not because it tremendously better than the other endurance perks.
When you have a skilled survivor using a perk, that perk is going to look over-powered.
The second all these skilled survivors start using Sprint Burst, an endurance perk that is 100% guaranteed to work correctly, instead of Dead Hard, Killers will have the exact same problems, maybe even worse because Sprint Burst gives you more distance.
You're talking like sprint burst is some new or obscure perk that no one has yet managed to divine the hidden powers of when it's really one of the most common alternatives to DH and has been in the game since launch. Everyone here has will have ran sprint burst and faced off against sprint burst, probably a lot. It's strong, it can be annoying, it can be 99ed, and it is still not as bad as DH.

A beach.
And before anyone says that doesn't fit I mean a spooky beach, ofc
-
It probably won't make it to live in its current form.
-
One thing I've never figured out is how people who DC after being downed once ever get through a match at all.
-
Well they buffed her but let's not let that get in the way of the circlejerk ofc

Thanks for letting us know :)

Also cautiously optimistic. I'm glad they acknowledged previously promising and not delivering things during these streams and put out some rough timeframes.

I'm trying to lol I put on Distortion after getting a facecamping Bubba, so I can at least buy some time to run around gathering bp, and my tokens are disappearing like mad. Every killer is decked out with aura reading perks and every team mate I do a gen with has Prove Thyself.
I've only played a handful of games so far but I don't think I've seen anyone get over 20k yet, which is unusual, so I get what you're saying.
If you're going against laods of aura reading you might get more value from object

Lets make a fictional perk, lets call it Boon: Steady Feet, this perk allows you to use your exhaustion perk twice, and decreases exhaustion 50% faster. Sounds OP right? Well that’s what DH is like, a perk that extends chases by 40 years, so is I used Balanced Landing Twice I would be able to extend the chase by at least 1-2 minutes.
A closer equivalent to dead hard would be a killer perk that lets you press a button after a survivor successfully dodges an attack which causes them to take damage anyway.

A lot of these sort of games have either mute or incredibly shy waifus. Hell, it's prevalent enough to be a trope. It's weird not to have artist there in order to fulfill that archetype.
I didn't know that
One advantage of putting artist in there is the potential for tongue in cheek hatoful boyfriend references

Pigs who always drop chase with an untrapped survivor to chase an inactive trapped one. And then drop chase with an inactive trapped one to chase an active trapped one.

I didn't know I was greedy by slugging someone while people with flashlights were swarming me, guess I'm entitled¯\_(ツ)_/¯ .
Exactly, you must pick up the survivor straight away. And no abusing exploits like facing a wall, you have no right to decide whether or not survivors use the items survivors have spent their hard-earned BP on.

Same, but like with every other QoL change, we'll get used to it.. But I guess we'll have to make the most out of piggy backing survivors to the hatch until the change goes live and we can't anymore :/
Giving hatch or gate will still live on in some form, just don't forget about the change when it comes and accidentally down them (which I'll probably do a lot at first)
-
There needs to be an egc type system for when two survivors are left, triggered if one or both of them spend not enough time on gens or in chase with the killer in a certain time period.
-One survivor carries on with objective, the other hides: hiding survivor is killed egc-style, gates are powered and hatch spawns
-Both survivors hide and do nothing: both die
-Both survivors are still partipating in normal gameplay: nothing happens, game continues as normal
Gets rid of this stupid situation and provides an incentive to be useful. Currently if one survivor keeps playing and the other hides and waits for the other to die the latter has a higher chance of survival, rewarding ######### teamwork.

Adding to this, Trickster's lullaby is donut shaped. So when the TR is gone he is silent when close up.
I didn't know that part, that's interesting

Trickster has a lullaby? Are you sure?
he does yeah, it's 40 metres same as huntress (although less obvious when you're only just inside it)
-
Two survivors left, one unhooks the other one, killer downs them both, throws the rescuer onto their final hook, now the sole survivor gets to spend around a minute on the floor while the killer waits out a potential DS. This is a situation that can currently happen, and it isn't interesting for either side. When it's over it's over, let everyone just get onto their next game.

To be fair, how many good maps are there?
The Macmillans are relatively OK.
There aren't too many complains against most Autoheaven.
I kind of like new Haddonfield.
Is there another one?
Among the bad ones there is Corn, Ormond, RPD and the big maps in general ...
The Game is pretty much awful for most killers, same for Lery's.
I'm fine with macmillan, autohaven, crotus penn, yamaoka estate temple of purgation, ormond...the game if i'm playing blight otherwise no, lery's if i'm playing stealth otherwise no...
survivor i'm good with anything that isn't rpd
-
I mean opening the gate does kinda work in this way anyway. If a killer does that I'll take the message and just leave rather than go break some dull totems or heal up or something (plus who knows maybe they threw the game on purpose and opened the gates for some kind of bloodwarden ruse, I'm not staying around to find out)

Just because something is meta, doesn't mean there's a problem with it and it needs to be nerfed. A good example of this for both sides is ruin and iron will.
I was talking about meta perks in general since your complaint-
"we cant have good perks in this game though, everything that is good needs to be reduced to trash according to these forums"
-also addressed the upcoming nerfs to meta perks in general.
I don't particularly have a problem with iron will personally.
If you don't want meta perks nerfed that's fine, although it's not that opinion that I was taking issue with but rather "since they decided to hear the cry babies on here who want free 4ks and free escapes"
How is nerfing slowdowns going to get us easier 4ks and nerfing second chances easier escapes? That's the part that seems nonsensical.

we cant have good perks in this game though, everything that is good needs to be reduced to trash according to these forums, and now to the devs though since they decided to hear the cry babies on here who want free 4ks and free escapes.
Wanting to nerf perks that just win games for you is the same as wanting an easy mode? I'm not seeing the logic there.
-
Make it a boon or something idk
-
Yeah this is said about everything people don't want nerfed. Dead hard "isn't that strong" DS wasn't that strong. Old spirit? Basically D-tier.
If self-care and nurse's calling are getting nerfed noed will probably end up on the bonfire too anyway.
