Give slight nerfs to all of them. 90 sec gens was a big change and some regression perks are just overkill
-
FYI people were ASKING for BP incentives. This is what the community wanted. You can't blame BHVR for a bandaid fix when you all asked for it.

Because they're crybabies and want the changes reverted. The game is balanced now, and survivors have been the power role for 6 years. Of course some of them are gonna be pissed. That doesn't change the fact that the game is much more healthy now.
I love playing with 2 survivors left with 4 gens done.
See, Friday the 13th had situations were the match was doomed for counselor, but it was at least FUN.

If anything his atrocious iri add-ons need to be changed.

I guess that wouldn't be a terrible idea

Who?

Killswitch is for GAME-BREAKING bugs. Every killer in the game currently has bugs. And every survivor has at least one animation bug, and some perks have bugs as well. Do you want to Killswitch the entire game?
This isn't game-breaking, it won't, and shouldn't, be killswitched.
I guess Trickster should be killswitch too since some knives hits don't play

Excited, yet have a small uneasy feeling if this will be done well

Yeah, it can do that, it's def more stressful than surv. Back in early 2021 I had to wear a heart monitor for a few days, and when I was reviewing the results with the doctor, they noticed the my heart rate was significantly elevated during time periods when I was playing killer a lot. I play late at night and the doc asked if it was...certain common nighttime activities, but I just laughed because I knew exactly what it was.
It's actually what got me playing a lot more survivor.
Like you, I am also going to step back a bit until Wesker drops.
That's really interesting. Dbdtubers should try this.
@IronKnight55 said:
Yep. I'm just not enjoying the game anymore. I might eventually come back if they fix survivor (mostly solo).
Don't blame you. It's okay if killers feel powerful but it sucks when matches become completely doomed. There's gotta be changes to have survivors get hope. BHVR may be losing money from this.
-
My mental health/anger problems get worse after playing killer. I'm gonna play again when Wesker releases.
-
Oh and uhhh BHVR is making an open world. Neat.

Can you date all of them all at once? 👀 Asking for a friend....

I mean, they kinda do represent BHVR themselves, as they are directly associated with them and are reporting their behind-the-scenes progress to us directly. Of course they don't represent the marketing team, despite what the conspiracy theories say.
My entire point is that they seem to be doing very little to counteract the leakers. If anything. You'd think with how long they've been able to go on there would've been some kind of investigation at the very least, but nothing has come of it.
>They kinda represent BHVR themselves
Yes and no. Let's say an entry-level BHVR programmer was filmed yelling and being verbally abusive to Starbucks workers. It gets posted online and people find out they work at BHVR. People may (although not likely) scrutinize BHVR for what this employee represents but there is an extremely tiny chance BHVR's main goal(s) as a company is being extremely rude to cafe workers. The more entry-level you are to a company, the smaller the responsibility is to representing them.
If that person was Mathieu Cote or the BHVR CEO it'd be a little different. People would legitimately raise questions if this is how BHVR works by being verbally abusive to others.
Basically, the leaker is not a person who is on the same level as Mathieu or the marketing team. They are entirely different. And essentially, if any employee breaks an NDA or goes against the plan out of self-interest they don't exactly do what BHVR WANTED TO DO. Does that make sense?
And yeah catching leakers can be difficult sometimes. Companies dont usually state that they're suing a person. Usually its kept in privacy.
TLDR; If you saw the leaks and was disappointed by todays news that's on you. Not BHVR.

Thereby they are perfectly able to control them, they just...don't.
No, that's not what I'm saying. A worker is doing it in SECRET behind BHVR's back. That WORKER does NOT represent BHVR nor their MARKETING team.

Ehh... they seem very, VERY accurate. To the point that they must come from someone on the inside.
.... That's how leaks work. Information gets out because some worker decides to betray an NDA. I don't think BHVR is intentionally creating them. There's been gaming leaks before that revealed huge amounts of info. For instance look up the ESRB Leak for Smash Bros. Completely non-intentional by Nintendo and there's a good chance someone got in trouble for it.

You could be. Teammates make or break your game, we know that. Dying or escaping means nothing about your skill and everything about your teammate's.
I see.

I don't know about that. Personally, I tend to get around that mark nearly every game as survivor, even in solo queue where the game is pretty much killer sided.
Of course, the number could be lowered, I just want to make it high enough for useful players to rank up while keeping trash where trash belongs.
Instead of BP, maybe something like:
1:30 in chase in the game
30+ seconds spent on gens
1 unhook
That could be the criteria as well. It makes sure that you have to do something to rank up, but it'll still be very possible for anyone to do, even with bad teammates.
So if you met those criteries yet died most matches, are you a good player?

You won't have, I literally just made it.
What else do I need to explain?
No it's honestly useful. I usually play gyro in shooters so Im not use to stick controls. If Xbox One had gyro I'd be so much better at Trickster.
-
Basement is designed to be an ultra-risky place for survivors. The basekit endurance shouldn't cover the whole expedition

@Seraphor said:
The issue isn't camera sensitivity, it's joystick deadzones, and it's as much of a problem on PS as well, and just as it's a pain for flashlights, it also makes ranged killers virtually unplayable. You try to aim at a survivor, but every movement of your thumb massively overshoots your target, forcing you to repeatedly correct your aim, wasting absolute shitloads of time.
Most games have a gradual zone where sensitivity increases from 'dead' to... whatever you've set as your max sensitivity. This allows you to have finer control over your camera movement. DBD has nothing like that, it's on or off, nothing in between.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/BVH3FOJLUY7B/deadzones.png
E.g. by changing your camera sensitivity settings, all you're doing is changing the colour of that circle. Without deadzone settings, its still just a solid colour.
I have never seen this infographic before. Care to explain how its drastically different than Dbds?

Maybe add a time limit to games like a lot of people have been asking, and require each category to have at least a set amount.
It wouldn't be very easy to farm for that, and even if it was, WHY would you want to get to high MMR if you didn't have the skill for it?
That's implying that people get high mmr for reasons they don't deserve. Which while can happen, doesnt happen as often as you may think.
Making it 30k BP will do the opposite problem. Good players with different roles WONT have high MMR and be stick in an MMR elo hell because they didnt make 30k BP. Flashlight loopers and Gen jockeys wont make that much every match. So are they bad players?
It wouldnt work out. The current MMR system has flaws but the simplistic design of it helps. If you had gray matches, but in general most were escapes. You're most likely a good survivor. That's how it should work.
-
@PapiFelixPSN said:
This is why escapes and kills shouldn't be the only factors. Counting above 30k BP as a win would fix this.
*90% of players MMR drastically drops*
*People start farming to gain MMR*
Yeah, wouldn't work

THEN YOU CHOOSE NOT TO SUICIDE HOW HARD IS THAT. Seriously do people even think at all before coming up with these hypotheticals?
So what if you have Unbreakable and a teammate suicides? The teammate cant tell if you have Unbreakable unless you are a swf.
Slugging should be left alone. An entire team only gets slugged if they let it happen. Nurse gets slugs because she is Nurse. Its a Nurse problem if it's always tied to her, not the slugging feature.
-
Some of these changes werent bad in the long run. The new animations look better although it took a lot of time to adjust. Doctor's/Trapper's new faces is just stretching it since Dbd wants to stay updated with it's graphics. The Leatherface awards probably shouldnt have been a thing in the first place to be honest.
Not saying this list is entirely wrong. It has a few good points. Want to point out that not literally every change was for the worst during the past year. Trapper has two traps now. Legion/GF got buffed. Dredge exists.
I understand where youre coming from but not all of it is negative like holy #########.

just let go?
Yes

@Marigoria said:
IMO if everyone is downed for more than 2 mins straight the game should let you suicide so you can go to the next game.
Lately with the slugging nurses with knockout it's just a waste of time to stay slugged for 4 mins without being able to do anything or get bp.
What if someone has Unbreakable?
-
Damn. Tough crowd. I'll find something better next time

I'm confused as to why BHVR hiring new employees would even be a consideration.
Companies hire people all the time, it really shouldn't matter if someone working on the perk rebalance has been with the company 6 years or 1 year.
I heard BHVR is a great place to work at.
-
4ks happen usually out of survivors making mistkaes so it's a more complicated answer.

It's perfect. I love the extra time added with it. Simplicity at it's finest.

I almost don’t get any DC, just people quitting /killing themselves on hook when they realise that the game is basically lost and don’t want to continue playing anymore.
The times I have gotten DC’s it feel like people are crashing. DC while sitting on a gen with me for example.
Why WOULD you continue a match that is completely lost? It would be more rational to give up and go to the next match.
The one part of the update that I dislike the most is how lose/lose situations as survivor happen way more often. The beauty of playing killer is that those lose/lose situations can be prevented through skill. Survivors were just unlucky sometimes pre patch. Now it's a consistent game after game soul-crush. How is that fun?
-
There is a 99% chance that they're doing something similar to this. A multi-million dollar company isn't as stupid as you think.
-
"Damn. Got the locker at least."

@jesterkind said:
Did people really run that perk often before, though?
I can only speak anecdotally, but in both my killer and survivor games pre-patch it only very rarely made an appearance- nowhere near as often as BBQ did. If survivors aren't saving their teammates from the hook now, I don't think WGLF is really affecting that decision either way.
(Though I am of course in favour of more BP gains, I just don't think you should feel forced to run one specific perk for BP gains)
Prerequisites for WGLF bp are much harder to get than BBQ's bp. The buff can make interesting plays and frankly survivors should try it out more.

Huntress.
Her lore is amazing and love the lullaby. Just tired of seeing Anna.

Punishing the tunnel broke chases at 5 seconds. 3 seconds just extends them.
Tunneling and camping got indirectly buffed this patch.

Having a key for a 3-man hatch escape was a strategy too. Let's bring that back!
