I like Needles Kane like anyone else that played twisted metal. But how are we getting Sweet tooth in the trials? I don't want Needles as a killer without the truck.
-
thanks.
it's still a bit sus. but I can see a timeline where there's no hacking required.
game starts, because of rng spirit finds a survivor fast and wins the chase in not the best, but decent time.
now, at 1:05, after hooking the survivor, she can potentially see scratch marks left by your survivor buddy there. so she goes there, hears her breathing and slashes.
she also probably realizes someone has been working on this gen, since it's in eyesight.
1:15 - she decides to check the hook instead of continuing to chase, sees scratchmarks left by the other survivor and goes for her. but she's running looking backwards, and she could have seen either scratchmarks or the second survivor.
so she goes for the wounded one.
after that she very clearly sees either scratch marks or the other survivor, because he's still running all around. she gets a hit and decides to check the gen.
see that it gets finished and decides to just hook the downed survivor.
when she goes back she sees more scratchmarks by the other survivor and gets her.
1:55 - pretty sure she saw you.
2:06 - the survivor dcs and she goes for the place where she last saw you. probably hears your breathing and that was it.
obviously, none of us can prove either way if any hacking was involved. but I rather give the benefit of the doubt. we all have those games where things just work perfectly.
like here
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aE4_Z4orvygIf I wanted to, I could have just chased the Ace and the game was gonna be over. but I didn't feel like doing that, partially because it wasn't very fun and partially because I had an archive challenge to do. So I didn't push my advantage there.
unlike this spirit, who went full sweat.
-
it is a bit sus.
can you share the entire match?
-
not that much. unless it's a key. keys are busted.
wether by skill or items, if you are playing at X level, you should play against people of X level.
-
people are weirdly focusing on the 700 wins...
let's say you manage to convince op to say "ok, I didn't get 700 wins in a row, I lost some games here and there". then what? what's that doing for you?
the information about hag they shared is solid. the counterplay is valid and work. and if you didn't know about them, it should increase your ability to play as and against hag.
You certainly don't have to believe on the streak, I don't. but it doesn't change anything about the actually useful stuff they posted, so why bother? they didn't even post their channel or even username, so it's not like they are trying to gain a following with it or something like that.
and before someone goes "but why say you got a 700 win streak if it doesn't matter?", would you not talk about a 700 win streak that you got even if you can't prove it? I would.

Go find them yourself.
I'm perfectly content to watch myself be proven right. Even if I'm not, I still win because the game gets fixed.
i won't. I'm not the one trying to prove something with them.
why would you be content with watching yourself be proven right when that means you don't have the game anymore?

I can't go and find stream clips from years past.
You need only look at their actions to determine whether or not they will balance the game for the top players. They've had 5 years, plenty of data, plenty of people telling them to, but they haven't. Ergo, it is not illogical to conclude that they will not.
Where's your proof that they are going to do something, even if it is 3 years from now?
too bad. so I won't believe you. AFAIK, it was something taken out of context or said as a joke that people took way too seriously.
I never said they will balance FOR top players. it's just more data for them to have a better picture. meaning, top players will impact the changes, but won't be the focus.
plenty of people tell them opposite things. it's no surprise you can point and say "they don't listen to X", you can do that no matter which decision they make, it's a non argument unless you can prove every person that talked to them said the same thing. can you?
I don't need to prove anything. because this game literally gets bug fixes every update. but they don't care right? why would they change the game so people will enjoy playing it more?

Pardon me? They've been pandering to people right after Hag was released as she was the 1st & hopefully not last unattractive female killer. Everyone else just has slight non facial body deformities.
there's literal porn of hag online... it was ######### terrifying... but point is, someone does find her attractive. this should not be a point either way, we have "hot" and "not hot" killers of both genders in this game. some people might argue it's 90% hot, but that's not important.
also..."slight non facial body deformities"... is plague not a thing to you?

If it was only affecting a minority of players, yes.
They announced 60 FPS for Consoles almost 3 years ago.
Key Rework was announced LAST YEAR. I could pull more examples of BHVR being extremely slow to change ANYTHING.
They've repeatedly shown they have a very interesting view of balance and have no intention of helping the higher MMR players.
again, they announced the key change FOR THIS YEAR. we are still, in this year. add it to the complaint list next year.
plenty of actual reasons to complain, don't make one up.
they have not. you have yet to show it. all you gave is "not the focus" which is very different from "have no intention of helping the higher MMR players"
-
only by a very broad and therefore not very useful definition of machine

His argument is that it took 4 years to change Iri Head.
BHVR does not work fast. They announced a Key rework over a year ago and it still isn't here.
Even if they do see a problem at high ranks, it'll take a year for any real progress to be made, by which point, most people would leave.
that's just a non sequitur. they are slow, but they do deal with issues.
they announced the key rework for this year. it's still this year.
and do you honestly think they would just watch the game die and not do something about it?
-
I see him often enough... who I really don't see is hag
-
did no one test that on the ptb?
-
that's a cool knife

reasons why I am not excited:
- The gap between solo q and SWF is far too large still
- Myers still doesnt even get close to the power of a casual SWF to get consistent wins
The fact that the roster isnt balanced for SBMM, makes it impossible to have a good SBMM. You will have people not playing lower tier killers because they are going to be absolute ######### once they are at their peak. People will hate playing solo q, because the better they are, the worse their games will be.
This isnt the game where SBMM makes sense. SBMM should at best influence 30% of matchmaking, but never 100%.
people will reach thei peak on each killer, and that peak is different for each killer. but each peak should be "hard but winnable match". same for soloq.
your points just don't make much sense

Sure.
I'd recommend watching the entire video for context, it isn't super long and Scott makes some good points.
It's at about 4:15
is that all? did scott cut it too short?
because all that mclean (is that how you write the name?) said is that the competitive scene isn't the focus. not that they will never look at it and make any changes to it.
it's not different from the smash creators going "we understand people play this competitively, but we consider it a party game" and yet it gets balance changes, maps have a "competitive" option etc.
just because they focus on one aspect, doesn't mean the others don't matter to them.
on scott, he makes a weird point about speed... like if people say "they can look at the top % data and make changes based on that" and his counter argument is "they are slow"... like, so what? who said they'll suddenly get fast? the argument is just "they get better data, they can use it"

yes but would getting to the stopping point of recovery get ur bar 50% filled or would you have to go past that point via unbreakable
if you reach 100% of the bar, you get up. therefore, no matter what, flip flop can never give you 50% struggle
-
The full value is half of what you got. So you do get full value from it.
But full value isn't 50% of the bar

Open a locker while running. You will trigger a noise notification but won't actually enter the locker. Scratch marks are hidden for the next 3 seconds.
You have to make sure you've broken LoS first, but if you can trick the killer into opening an empty locker you can gain significant distance or easily hide.
Oh that one.
That is a fun one. Couple with quick and quiet and you can fake the locker and quietly vault a window.
Good stuff

Not really tbh, I can't imagine Isaac in his suit running from a single necromorph and not dismembering it with a plasma cutter. His futuristic armor wouldn't fit well with the maps either.
He canonically runs a lot from necromorphs when he's unnarmed. And sometimes when he is armed
Case in point, the opening of ds2 and the first necromorphs in ds1.
And when he faces the regenerating necromorphs.
Also his basic armor just looks like a jumpsuit, it works.

Unrelated to the topic (matchmaking working great as always) but judging from your HUD you're a new-ish killer player without a devotion level at rank 9.
So, why in god's name have you decided to P3 the Clown?
I am both terrified and in awe. Do you need medical help?
I didn't even notice that 😂
Now that's dedication
-
I can believe survivors misplayed enough for you to get a bunch of wins when you go full sweat from the start.
Specially since I appear to be the only survivor that knows to crouch vs hag in the VERY few times I play against one.
One of her best techs is to not teleport. Because people seem to forget you don't have to teleport and they vault back right into you :p

I like your response a lot. I didn't really think that BHVR could make their own spin on a Necromorph of course with the Licensing approval that is.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2471185#Comment_2471185
DontNerf made a pretty good point about the Necromorph. Only other killer I could see would be Nicole Brennan. Or the Marker paranoia itself. When though Nicole herself wasn't a villian but in Dead Space 2 she was projected as the haunting visions Isaac kept having. I personally would want to see a Necromorph.
Since Demogorgon made it into this game and isn't a Unique creature from his habitat. There are more than 1 Demogorgon as it's a species. I don't see why a Single Necromorph couldn't make it into this game.
It's not about it being unique in dead space. Necromorphs mostly just walk/run forward and attack. It would just be demogorgon again.
I'm not sure I want a unique necromorph for dbd. Feels like a cop out.
Rather they make the killer several different necromorphs. And you switch between them for different abilities.
Regular one for speed, the one with a bomb in hand for an instadown, the baby one with tentacles for a ranged attack. You can place 1-2 traps on the map that are that big worm one that grab your feet...
I changed my mind, I like my concept for a dead space killer. We can make a full chapter
-
100%
But it would be just a survivor. The cool dead space killers are either too big or Isaac himself.

I don't have a direct quote but I can give you a link to Scott's video where he has a clip from McClean's stream.
that works. I just want the quote. can you timestamp it?
-
I want a pirate. yar.
also vampire and werewolf... you know, all the classics.
but i want a pirate. make the map be a giant ship and one of the exits the plank.
-
This has 0 to do with sbmm.
-
Test it on kyf. Only way to properly see.
I don't like adfons that change the chainsaw speed, so I haven't really used them
-
Don't really have one. I just use perks I like 🤷♀️
But if I had to make one on the fly...
Ds, dh, unbreakabill, kindred
Ruin, undying, tinkerer, pop.
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
I think I know why. There's an exploit which allowed a survivor to "jump" onto a pipe while healing someone else, letting them run around outside the map and just leave the exit gates
Oh... the "breakout" on the tweet would make sense with that.
Thanks for the info.
With a map this big, must be a ######### to check all hitboxes

If you're leaving people on the ground with no immediate chase handy to occupy you, it's not snowballing. It can't be, you've lost your momentum. And with Hag, that's kind of what she does. That's her whole thing. I've gone against a lot of Hag's that barely even hook people, they just down them, reset traps and leave, all while calling it "snowballing". They often have Knockout and definitely feel like they dodge SWF lobbies based on their behaviour (such tactics arent that useful in a normal trial). I've even seen a couple of Trapper's do it, but not nearly as much.
Hence me making a distinction.
I don't see hag and trappers doing that. The only killer I ever played against that went for mass slug was nurses.

A Spirit win streak difficulty will never be at the same level of a Trickster win streak difficulty
If Spirit win streak will be harder then Trickster's one will be impossible
Yeah. So?
Wasn't the challenge made harder? For every killer? (Some more than others, but that was always the case)
-
@MadLordJack said:
Nurse, Oni and Plague.
Hag and Trapper are less about genuine snowballing and more about mass slugging, especially Hag. It's so ridiculously common to see a Hag end a trial with multiple people about to bleed out after everyone ended up slugged. That's not a snowball. Snowballs don't lose momentum.
seems contradictory to have oni and nurse on the top 3, but say mass slugging isn't "genuine" snowball.

I think BHVR will do nothing, as they've done for the last 5 years.
They know the game is bad at high levels, they've said repeatedly that they do not care and they will not balance it
You say that a bunch, but do you mind quoting that?
-
It's just a national holiday. You'll survive.
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
okay so i think people know it can down you when they get in the locker, they just try to dodge the chainsaw then time getting out correctly (and usually fail lol). either way it wastes more time if they have nothing else to do.
Oh no. It's not timing. They leave right after I hit the locker and start the tantrum

I wanna say trapper or hag. Because if they get going, they go the distance.
But snowballing is something every killer can do.

you really think the killer designed to lose sight of the survivors, wasn't designed to focus on sound?

@GoodBoyKaru Think you're a victim of autocorrect.
I feel like I should have at least 1 by now... the most annoying part is that there's no progress bar or something. so I don't know how close I am on any of them...
they really should lower the requirements, specially with the amount of survivors avaiable

Well we didn’t know the Oni either and now nearly the entire community has their support behind him. India is very ancient and likely has lots of options to work with and with India’s development DBD can be big there
ok, but why would you specifically ask for indian folklore without having an idea of what to adapt from it?
also, I watch anime, I knew the inspirations for the oni.

Hag was inspired by the wendigo in early development, but she falls under the witch category now. We still do not have a wendigo. I would love some Native American representation and a skinwalker killer would be so cool, and a Native survivor would be an instant main for me
I did say "slightly" XD

Yes the Sub-Continent Indian
cool. what are some possible killer from their folklore? because I'm 99% sure I never heard about any of them (unless it's one of those "every country has ghosts/spirits stories" type of thing)
-
by "indian", you mean from india?
or just not the correct word to refer to natives? (unless you are brazillian, in which case it is the correct word, but only in portuguese)
hag is slightly based on the wendigo, which as far as I know, is a folklore from native-americans. so there's that
