I get what you are trying to say, I really do, but at what point do I then have to create a youtube page to justify something? At the end of the day, I have literally gotten back into dbd. I have dealt with this as my first game and the fact that, I literally cannot simply report and know it will be dealt with is a bit annoying considering the history of dbd.
you don't have a youtube account? weird... I had one long before I uploaded anything just so I would get recomended more relevant stuff.

Did I miss the killer that can crouch and goes faster when crouched? Who that?
In general, she could use some buffs.
But I do like her perks from a lore standpoint. Except hangmans trick... that one feels a bit random.

with pokemon yes, sometimes. with yugioh there are events that do, not usually, but it's really annoying to not be able to set up alternate formats without finding a discord somewhere

The thing is for how old DBD is, some things should have been addressed ages ago. It's unheard of in 2023 for a multiplayer game to not have any in game communication features while going through a bunch of metas that require communication and co-ordination to deal with. It's stupid that you buy a survivor's perk on the Shrine and you still have to buy the survivor for a full price instead of their price reducing by 2k when Iri shards are incredibly hard to come by. That's a QoL right there that makes everyone's experience between because someone buying with shards means they won't be buying that survivor/killer with real money. I can understand for this feature not be added to licensed character, but to OG characters this is unnecessary grinding, especially for survivors who are glorified cosmetics.
And I would assume these are things that are a lot easier to solve than in game bugs and game balance.
Name me a big game in 2023 that lacks in game communication features. You can't even communicate with consoles if you're on PC in pregame chat. (correct me if I'm wrong though).
I don't have much insight when it comes to consoles, but people have been asking for keyboard and mouse support for a long time as well. I play with a controller on PC and I can tell me latency is higher when I'm working on gens. So it's probably higher in general with a controller. I have to time my skillchecks differently if I'm on controller vs keyboard. Arguably this is a rather complex issue, no doubt. But console players are a big chunk of the playerbase.
don't really think you require communication. would help but not required.
you buy the perks so you DON'T need to buy the character. it cuts the cost to 6k shards. or even less if all you want is 1 or 2 perks.
it needs to be an issue to be solved. don't think the shrine is an issue. don't think not getting a discount because you got the perk is an issue.
the slow grind for shards is something I would call an issue.
pokemon? yugioh master duel? there is no in-game chat on console.
we have. Heard we are but I don't have a number.

I don't agree with them all either. but
- yes. she is. she has the condemn mechanic aswell and her stealth is weird on top of the tapes and keeping track of when tvs come back and all that. while you can explain wraith completely in like 10 or 20 words max.
- yes. he has a higher skill ceiling than moderate, but he is very simple to understand and do well with (which is ultimately what I think bhvr considers the most when putting them where they are). you hold saw and go brrrr. or "AAARRRGH" i guess...
- she is. it's like billy, simple to understand and apply but allows a high skill expression. I do not agree with myers not being on easy
- myers no. but clown and freddy can be excused to be in moderate. it takes some amount of skill to properly use both bottles and the dream world mechanics adds some amount of complexity to freddy.
- singularity should probably be on very hard
-
you need to drop from the second floor of a house or something. hills, tractors... do not count
which is just impossible to do on some maps, which is why I hate it...

Probably they've been asking for a while. Definitely for over a year now (I think I remember this complaint since I started playing the game which is close to a year now). It's hard to navigate so many perks, this should have been a non-issue from the start. They take a very long time to implement QoLs in general. Even the HUD should have been a feature 3 years ago at least and to this day you still cannot communicate in game and BHVR is the biggest game around of its kind.
it's more of a "this should have been in the game at launch" kind of thing. it was much easier to navigate stuff when we had half the amount of perks so a search bar would be nice but it was fine without it.
for instance, I've been wanting better menu navigation for console since I started playing. because it would be so much nicer and faster to just press the arrow keys instead of moving that circle around...
so I could say "we been asking it for 5-6 years" depending on when it launched on console... but it's actually "this should have been here on launch"
-
which one is abattoir again?
either way. it's the nature of the game. lots of maps picked at random, you will see some a lot and some not at all
-
I actually have 81% of them all.
which is quite a lot... still missing a few adepts, everything involving the characters I don't own, the "you should play trickster and lacerate like 20 or 50 people" which I really don't wanna do...
repairing the rcpd gen and escaping, which I have yet to do both of these...it's annoying.
and the abomination that is console skilled huntress...
but I did unlock this today
which reads, "with the singularity, hurt or down 3 survivors that are slowed down" (forgot the english name for the effect that makes survivors move slower).
the catch?
I do not even own the singularity... it just unlocked while I was playing sadako.
apparently 0.3% of players have the platinum trophy for dbd.

See, those are solid ideas. Way more than usual in Threads like this which are just "Buff Killer X". Those changes would not make Trapper A-Tier, but would help him. I would not agree with all of them (being stuck 30 seconds in a Trap sounds awful, it would not be much different from Honing Stone to be honest, because Trapper would be able to get you from anywhere on the Map. And basically giving him one of his best Add Ons as Basekit... I dont know.
Other things like resetting Traps when grabbing out a Survivor or calling them back sound nice and useful. Especially the latter one, you dont need to walk into corners anymore without a Gen or anything to get a Trap.
I think some solid solutions. And again, more productive than just saying that every Killer should be like Nurse.
I also dont see any problem with some Killers being weaker than others. Especially not if those are the more simple Killers. E.g. I think the powerlevel of Wesker and Wraith is fine. Even tho Wraith is far weaker, he is also way more simple to play and easy to understand. So it is fine that he is weaker than a more complex Killer like Wesker or Blight.
(Of course there are outliers... E.g. Nurse is too easy for what you get. Singularity is too hard for the reward. Just two examples)
you're right. I just said the first number that came up... 12 solo and 8 sec with help is probably enough.
the thing is, I really like trapper, I played a lot of trapper. so I'm very familiar with his issues, including the minor ones. like seeing a survivor in a good trap so you down them, reset the trap and THEN you pick them up, which is just a time waster but usually wastes less time than reseting the trap later.
so I can give a more detailed explanation on a theorical buff than I could on billy or doctor for example. but I still recognize they could use a little something. maybe the shock should go a bit faster to be more reliable and that's enough? maybe also remove the slowdown? feels like enough but idk...
Don't see an issue with some killers being weaker either. but wow the current gap is huge... and nurse should not be the benchmark to strive for.
-
Simple. When I played killer the first time, I had fun.
Still lost miserably and using hag as my first killer was a terrible choice.
But I had fun. So I kept at it until I stopped being a potato.
I would do what pulsar said, pick a simple to understand killer and get the basics down. Then find a killer you like.
Demogorgon is also very simple if you have it. But don't think too hard with portals initially. Just put them down near important stuff.

How would you do it?
Edit- you explained, so I'll remove the beggining here and just answer.
I would give all his traps to him basekit.(I believe max is 8...)
thick grass or equivalent spawning on every map when you play trapper, basically everywhere, with the color of the traps almost matching it to camouflage.
You no longer step on your own traps. They just get disarmed if you do.
Picking a survivor from a trap resets it.
Escaping from a trap now takes a set amount of time, let's say 30 seconds base. 20 if another survivor is saving you.
Trapper can recall disarmed traps from anywhere by looking at them and pressing the ability button (Think thor and mjolnir). If he holds it for a bit, all the disarmed get recalled but takes a bit longer. (As in, more time than pulling 2 one at a time, but starting at 3 it's faster)
Change bag add-ons to affect the time it takes to escape the trap.
Maybe other add-ons would also need change but they aren't coming to me rn.
And there. Trapper is much better while still remaining an easy character to understand for new players (which is important to trapper in particular).
You do not need to walk around to pick your power accross the map, the traps can be hidden in more than 4 or 5 maps, no more trap rng(which makes things simpler), and you don't need to go back to collect or reset old traps.
But only the disarmed ones, if you put a bad trap in the corner and no one interacted with it, that's on you.
Don't know if it reached wesker but I think it reached a good point.

Have you ever seen It's Always Sunny in Philly?
If not, look up the scene I refer to when calling Mori's a tantrum and disrespectful. The game is over, you got the down and instead of doing what is expected and hooking and "ggwp" it turns into this spectacle of which there is zero counter and just feels very disrespectful. Taking a survivor to their death hook requires avoiding wiggle free, flashligh saves, pallets, etc. Mori is just press a button and I kill you, like the ultimate t-bag moment.
Either you think it's easy to hook survivors cause hooks are always avaiable, or you think wiggling free is a thing that is actually possible. You can't have both
Thinking a mori is disrespectful is honestly silly.

Either way, hope you have a good day.
I am in fact willing.
I think your question was just incomplete. and I gave a proper explanation as to why before saying a half joke.
half joke, cause being right on top of the survivor is something that simply happens. so any answer I give from 0m to 50m+ can be correct. depending on all the things I said, plus other stuff like which map and where the survivor is in said map...
I understand the point you are trying to make about the distance the survivor can cover before you catch them, but I think looking at that in isolation is disingenuous.
wanna make your point, then make your point. just give the number you think it's fair.

I think you are underestimating how fast survivors can do gens when running a "stay injured" build.
Let me ask you a question. Lets assume a standard killer with 4.6 movement speed and a 32 meter terror radius. How close do you think the killer can get before the survivor realizes that the killer is coming for them? How far away? Remember, 3 killer lunges is 18 meters. Again, hop into a custom game, lunge 3 times, and that's 18 meters, which is quite close. So tell me what you think is reasonable and we'll do some math.
I'm not. but I am saying that they being injured is a big deal if their skill is actually properly matched. and that the fact you only gotta chase 1 time is enough of a time save.
depends on the survivor. how much attention they are paying, if they wanna try finishing whatever they are doing right now, if they think you are chasing someone else, if you have any way of changing your terror radious or getting undetectable etc etc.
wanna ask a question? then just ask it. give me the scenario you think makes this unfair. otherwise... I'm just gonna say 0m. the killer can be on top of the survivor before they realize it.
it has happened a lot... therefore I say it's reasonable.
probably not the most common or expected. but I would not be surprised if it happened in a game during the last 2 minutes.

The first example i agree with, but i think the problem is worded poorly. It isn't that they aren't in danger, it is that "spreading pressure" doesn't actually "pressure" the survivors when they all run this, because they are all just injured anyway. Nobody stops to heal. So it brings back that situation where, if you aren't brining 4 gen slowdown perks, forget it, because you can't slow them down by spreading pressure naturally. Anything that makes killers REQUIRED to bring slowdown perks is bad design. In general i actually want them to completely get rid of all things the slow down, and increase the speed of gens, and then balance gen speeds around that, so that perks aren't "required" anymore.
The second example is bad because the perk you mentioned has a cooldown, a duration, and generally is very hard to get value out of. MFT has no "condition" or requirement or anything like that other than "be injured" which will naturally occur through a chase. Even the new perk that killers are getting for this with the next chapter that is similar is terrible. You hit a survivor, gain 10 seconds of 5% haste (so a time limit) and on top of that you give up bloodlust. Whereas the survivor one is just "be injured".
The general problem with MFT, is that mathematically it is by far the best exhaustion perk in the game for almost every scenario except when the killer is standing right next to you.
If you look at typical chase that starts 18 meters apart (keep in mind that killer lunge distance is about 6.2 meters, so hop into a game, lunge 3 times, and that is actually larger than 18 meters. So you can actually see how close 18 meters really is) and do the math, you'll see that sprint burst is BARELY better than MFT by about 2-3 seconds in that chase. Then when you factor in loops, and looping, and everything else, you'll see just how fast MFT makes the survivor.
The problem with MFT is that movement speeds for survivor and killer are very important. Because of a survivor's smaller hitbox, they can loop around things tighter than killer. So a 3% movement speed boost is actually probably more than that when looping a tight object. In the straight line chase, where MFT should be the weaker option, it is STILL just barely weaker. But in the common scenario, it is by far the best perk in the game right now for survivors.
The other problem with MFT, is that it leads to scenarios where you just don't know if the survivor is cheating. There are many games now i have played, where it definitely feels like the survivor is moving 5% faster, not 3%. Not much of a difference, but after playing the game for 3k hours, you can definitely tell when it is happening.
The first example i agree with, but i think the problem is worded poorly. if they just stay injured, all you need is one hit. which means the chase is "kinda" cut down in half.
The second example is bad because the perk you mentioned has a cooldown, a duration, and generally is very hard to get value out of. MFT has no "condition" or requirement or anything like that other than "be injured" which will naturally occur through a chase. a meaningless cooldown since you usually get the survivor to a hook on that time. and it's not like couldn't pick any other perk... several fit this.
the condition for mft is being injured. that is a condition. and it's a big one.
is fire up op cause it gets better forever when the thing that naturally occurs in the game happens?
The general problem with MFT, is that mathematically it is by far the best exhaustion perk in the game for almost every scenario except when the killer is standing right next to you.
it's not an exhaustion perk. it can be better than most exhaustion perks, but it's not an exhaustion perk.

something can be the best perk and not be op.
I never said it wasn't good.

Not much of a difference, but after playing the game for 3k hours, you can definitely tell when it is happening.
it's why I said it should have a tell so the killer knows it's in play.
also... you can maybe "mostly" tell. you'll still get false positives and negatives.
which is another point for it should have a tell.

Both mft resi and adren remove the "danger" of being injured and turn it into a desired effect.
Killer outplayed you and hit you? Ok you move 3% faster and can do gens 9% faster!
Its extremely dumb that the killer hitting a survivor is actually beneficial to the survivor.
The purpose of the injured state was to force survivors to need to heal and essentially waste the time equivalent of 32 charges.
Now being injured shaves 8~ charges from a gen.
Hope just guarantees survivors escape during endgame, when it takes over a minute just to get a single hit in while straight line chasing its blatantly obvious as to why hope is fundamentally busted.
If a perk wants to have a strong effect it needs to be time / token limited
If it wants to be infinite duration, it must have a relatively weak effect.
MFT, Resi , Hope, Adren aswell as a couple other survivor perks break the previous 2 statements.
Strong effects with no limits are fundamentally busted.
Both mft resi and adren remove the "danger" of being injured and turn it into a desired effect.
no they don't. you are still in danger. 1 mistake and you go down.
Killer outplayed you and hit you? Ok you move 3% faster and can do gens 9% faster!
Its extremely dumb that the killer hitting a survivor is actually beneficial to the survivor.
ok... "the survivor outplayed you and hit you with a pallet? ok they are now exposed". it's such a silly argument... also, again, they are now 1 mistake away from going down.
The purpose of the injured state was to force survivors to need to heal and essentially waste the time equivalent of 32 charges.
not really... it's so the chase didn't instantly end in just 1 hit. being able to heal is more of a side effect of choosing this 2-hit style.
Now being injured shaves 8~ charges from a gen.
ok... that is a description of what the perk does. so?
Hope just guarantees survivors escape during endgame, when it takes over a minute just to get a single hit in while straight line chasing its blatantly obvious as to why hope is fundamentally busted.
I have caught survivors with hope. same as most killers I assume. so it does not guarantee anything.
this is like the people that say noed is just a guaranteed kill in endgame... no it's not.
it's just something that helps. helps quite a lot since it did absolutely nothing the entire game until that point. and it might not do anything meaningful when it does trigger.
If a perk wants to have a strong effect it needs to be time / token limited
like hope and adrenaline?
also, why does it need either?
If it wants to be infinite duration, it must have a relatively weak effect.
again... why? cause you decided that is what is fair?
MFT, Resi , Hope, Adren aswell as a couple other survivor perks break the previous 2 statements.
hope and adrenaline both are time limited and don't last forever. how are they breaking any of your 2 arbitrary rules?
also, is jolt busted? sloppy? any of the several perks like these I can bring up?
Strong effects with no limits are fundamentally busted.
why?

Peak survivor main mental gymnastics.
Defending blatantly busted survivor perks that extend chases by an unhealthy amount with "well it counters the perk that makes me take 4s longer to heal"
Its not just "strong in general " , it's unbelievably busted in general.
gotta love being called survivor main in some threads and killer main in others... just depends on what side I said anything about...
don't think resilience, adrenaline or hope are busted. at all.
mft is debatable, I think it would be fine if it was just the 3%. it should have an abvious tell so the killer can know it is there.
we might have very different definitions here... what would you say makes something "busted"?

The Billy nerfs went way beyond nerfing his best add-ons. They dug a hole and buried him.
I hate to parrot the crowd here but Blight is only oppressive when he brings strong add-ons.
Sure he has high-level techniques like hug techs but that requires a high level of skill so I'm pretty comfortable saying that they're acceptable in normal play.
The real issue is that Blight is massively boosted by his good add-ons, and he is So. Spoiled. For. Choice. when it comes to good add-ons.
Other killers like Pig, Nemo, and Bubba (to an extent) have such garbage add-ons that it feels super unfair that a killer with much better base abilities has so many more options. I feel the same way about Spirit: she's already a top-tier killer and yet she also has some of the best add-ons in the game.
The best killers should have the worst add-ons, and vice-versa. Buff Nemo.
I disagree. all killers should have good add-ons.

i'd like to understand the mentality of someone that cares about a bot getting hatch or not im not gonna lie, and wasting a real human's time for it. i get sometimes killer games are tough and all the bming get through people's skin, but it's a bot it won't t-bag at the top of the hatch.
they didn't waste the time of someone else. the bot was down at some point. the survivor did not give up.
they are both trying to win, but only the killer is being called desperate?
imagine someone trying to win getting under your skin... damn...
also... people have in fact reported bots t-bagging

why do i sometimes feel like we are trying to explain such matters to a newbie? yes they can do it, yes it's at their will and not against the rules. but you think that's the topic here?
It literally is
"Is this the level of desperation we're at now?"
They are calling what the killer did desperation. Because the killers aren't allowed to want a 4k apparently.
There is nothing else to this post. It's pointing at someone and going "Look at that tryhard trying to get a 4k. Gonna call them desperate for wanting it and hope for an echo chamber of people agreeing with me"

I'll edit later, but it's usually 100% survivor until later in the night
edit - at 19:50 here in brazil. 100% to survivor
edit 2 - 21:45. it is now 50% killer

They are wasting the time of a real life human in order to kill an AI. That is weird
If the player feels like their time is being wasted they can just give up and go next.
All the killer is doing is playing the game. But people put arbitrary lines in the sand where you are only allowed to wanna win "this much" "more than that and you are weird", just let people have their fun...

why hatch exist if slugging for 4k is "playing normally" ? it's not a big deal just cringe/obnoxious, you can hook 3rd one you're not going to die if someone get hatch
To avoid a single survivor hiding in the corners for 20 minutes.
Also why egc exists.
So playing the game normally is obnoxious to you?
You are also not gonna die if you just let the killer get you... but you want the escape. The killer wants the kill. Same thing.
It's on everyone involved in the game if you think that's cringe, not just the killer.

Prestige is not considered at all with mmr. As it should.
A player isn't bad cause he switched from his 100p ace to the 0p dwight.
Also... you seem to have done well? Second highest bp count. A kill. Congrats! (I mean it)
They t-bagged... ok. People will do that, just try to move on. It isn't worth the time to bother with it.
Does the ps5 and ps4 appear as different platforms? Cause I can't imagine bothering to get off the pc and going into a ps chat to trash talk someone... even on the phone app.
I can barely imagine it when you ARE on a ps4 or ps5...
You could probably report that to sony if they stepped over a line somewhere.

Someone playing the game normally
"Is this desperation?"
Why is it a big deal that the killer wants a 4k?

I want Ellen using the power lifter as a skin.
does it make sense? no.

Actually giving hatch neither raises the survivor's MMR nor lowers yours. The game treats a hatch escape as a zero-sum game. Neither the survivor or killer's MMR is affected.
While on the subject, we need to stop acting like showing survivors mercy is setting them up for suffering in the future. If the MMR system is working correctly (and who knows, really?) and a survivor's MMR outpaces their skill level, they'll just lose some matches and their MMR will come back down to the appropriate level. No big deal. Let's not pretend that murdering survivors is a favor we're doing for them.
how do you know? was it said somewhere that hatch is neutral on mmr?

there is a bug report section.
Report any bugs you find here.devs are more likely to look there. probably

3k is a win for killer. and so is a 4k obviously.
some consider 2k a tie. to me the survivors won.

Because that most likely meant that the survivors finished all 5 gens, thus meaning i failed at my objective as the killer to prevent the gens from being finished
no. your objective is to sacrifice or kill the survivors. who cares if there's 4 or none generators left?

Bleed outs aren't counted by the game as regular kills like sacrifices or moris are. So they don't progress daily rituals or tome challenges.
dead by any means. it counts. if it says sacrifice, mori also don't count
