  • The killer has to actively self-sabotage in order to not 4k now. Killer is easy mode. Get aboard the SupaAlf train, onward to 300 straight 4ks. lol

Gens are a maximum of ten seconds now with no slowdown in play, that's not something you're realistically going to notice in the vast majority of situations.

Not to mention that you can absolutely adapt to it by bringing generator speed builds, of course.

As for that match in your example, that sounds like a pretty close game that was only lost because one of your teammates misplayed, not a crushing loss you couldn't have avoided.

12.5% increase is an increase of 12.5%. Framing it (which is what you do) as something not noticed or felt or whatever else is disingenuous.

  • @Tsulan said:

Stopped reading after "gen regression has been buffed"...

    It was mainly nerfed.

10 seconds added as base kit. Add Thana, Eruption, Call of Brine, and whatever else, you don't need more slowdown. I'm a professional baker, if a formula calls for 500 grams flour and 350 grams of water, but you add 12.5% more water than is called for, the bread will not have structure. Increasing gens by 12.5% does not nerf gens but buffs them by 12.5%. Dishonesty doesn't work when numbers are available.

  • Solos and killers that play fair and only to foremost use the killer's power skillfully are at the bottom of the power ranking.

  • The only way to get consistent results is either joining a SWF and gaining omniscience or playing Killer and being provided omnipotence.

Ah yes, 'my survive rate is this, so yours must be wrong argument'. Absolutely hilarious the amount of cynical and judgemental children there are on this forum. I couldn't care less if you believe me or not, I have nothing to prove, I'm simply sharing my own in game experience and am loving the update so far.

What is the survival rate of your solo queue teammates? You haven't mentioned that. I mentioned the survival rate of my teammates. It's 12%. If the survival rate of your teammates is 80%, you've been playing baby killers.

The devs made the update to boost kill rates, in their own words. You're escaping 80% of the time. Is that an outlier? Is it sustainable? Are you not telling the truth?

"Nurse" and "Killer" are not the same thing. You can do a 300 streak with Nurse, you can't do that with any killer.

Similar to how "SWF" and "Survivor" are not the same thing.

This is a multiplayer that is survivor-sided in spite of the killers approaching 300 wins in a row. Pro Vengeance won 1096 out 1103 matches. No other multiplayer game is so imbalanced. The killer complaints are unserious.

  • You're lying, it's not being salty. You're not escaping 80% of the time. I've played 11 matches, escaped four times. The 33 survivors I've been paired with, have also escaped four times. Total. That's 8 escapes, 36 deaths. 18% escape rate, and my 36% escape rate is absolutely carrying that figure.

Uff, still basing ones opinions on content creators that play a game excessively to make a living of it. They aren't representative for the probably 80% casual players in the community.

And let us not forget that those same content creators managed survival streaks, sometimes even into the triple digits.

Also none of them are really playing people on the appropriate skill level since we all know how "brilliant" the matchmaking is in this game.

SupaAlf is approaching 300 consecutive wins as Nurse. Any sort of survivor streak that approached triple digits, it included keys and SWF that went out of their way to take hits. The idea that killers have to play this game religiously to consistently 4k is untrue. It's an easy game for both SWF and Killer. Solo is the only hard mode in this game. I'm a PS4 Deathslinger main, by the way.

It's a video game that you load up. It's not real life. They aren't big bads. They are people playing a role to win. That's it. No more. No less. And both sides should be treated equally as far as adjustments are made to make the game playable. But it hasn't been

One side being the "power role" belongs in singleplayer games, not multiplayer. The one thing that will distance me from this game more than anything is the feeling that, when playing solo survivor, the average killer wants to dominate and not participate in a match that is fun for both sides. SWF bully squads might be the same, but they're rare. From being on this forum, it does seem like the average killer main thinks survivors should be afraid and punished if they're not. Poor balance is not how multiplayer games function.

18 minutes can sound unfun, but you're wrong about the skill part.

Legion is only difficult on last gen consoles because of the bad frames you get in Frenzy. New gen and PC, Legion is easy.

Comically close? Because 4 of the best solos must be able to run the killer just fine still while the rest do gens, and do hook saves since survivors get a free endurance state off hook now?

Not comically close. Comically weighted towards one side. Killer. This is a low-effort, low-skilled game.

Every single thing you wrote is subjective, and you still didn't answer my question.

The answer I was looking for is, "You didn't say those words, I put them in your mouth."

Just to nip this cyclical silliness in the bud.

No. Killers got what they wanted. An easy, single player game. No more complaining about SWF.

If you want to put it to the test, BHVR can run a solo survivor escape streak versus a killer 4k streak. Take the best survivors, playing solo, and the best killers. See what their streaks amount to. Both you and I know that the results would be comical.

  • You don't know what you have until it's gone. This game is not fair anymore for solo survivors and you were saying it's a skill issue as to why they're not going to be surviving. Solo survivor is the pure role in this game. Top SWFs are broken but rare and it's too easy to 4k as killer at this point.

  • @Dead_Harder said:

Game is and will always be survivor sided at the top level but yeah, i agree that for casual experience game is probably killer sided now. Specially against the top few killers.

It's killer-sided in an uninteresting way. You can pick your choice as killer to 4k. Tunnel, camp, stack slowdown. It's boring and not skillful. As far as top level, that's not the average player, including myself. This is unfun.

  • This update makes the game single player when at least two solos are involved. We're NPCs, now.

At the end of the day killer was already easy to play before the update.

The one thing that's not said enough. This game is not multiplayer when there are at least two solos in the trial. Between not having to play tiles anymore -- killers can set crows or brute force/w-key their way through them or whatever -- and being able to make gens take two minutes, it's stunningly one-sided and unplayable. The solo survivor is just an NPC.

A great Mystery of the Fog, though. Because the Entity "thrives on the survivor's hope", why does he disable anti-tunnel and anti-camping measures for survivors in End Game but still offer the Exit Gate aura to killers? It's stunningly (use that word again) hand-holding.

That is the problem with survivors, they think you are supposed to heal against Legion. Super cringe.

Why try to place everything back on survivors? What other multiplayer game allows for 20 seconds of wall hacks that track any opponent within 40 metres? That's all the map presence you ever need. What other multiplayer game allows you to double your DPS like Legion doubles the strength of Frenzy with Never-Sleep Pills? Pretending this isn't anti-competitive is super cringe and bad faith. You want easier games, just admit it.

Main surv I asume. When you are facing a team that is omnipresent and has two ppl doing gens while one is rescuing constantly is frustrating, and when you need BP and kills for the archives and rituals It becomes even more frustrating. As I said, I do not like to tunnel, but I understand that sometimes It is justified. The "git gud" arguments never work as there are always more than what you can see regarding this issue, and a killer that tunnels is not always a bad one. I have seen Otzdarva tunnelling and he is a really good player, but sometimes the situation requires these meassures to get what you need.

The majority of tunneling is a just an easy way to rig the game in the killer's favor, in my experience.

"It's not hard to come up with a build on every single killer to ensure a 80-90% win rate"

Oh wow! Top rated killer detected. Teach me how plz!

Not to doubt your statement but its one hell of a statement that needs some data showing to back up. The dev said themselves kill rate is lower than expected.

SupaAlf (post-MMR 200-game win streak on Nurse), Pro Vengeance (post-MMR 50- and 100-game win streaks on supposedly low-tier killers), Otz, plenty of examples.

I'm not a top-rated killer, I'm pretty average and don't sweat. But if you have game sense, experience, a bit of skill, strong builds, and play to win, you can get this win rate very easily.

I don't know if all these killer add-ons and powers are OP, but they don't require skillful interactions and it gets tiresome hearing from killer mains how hard the role is, etc.

  • If you want a challenge, you can always try making it to Division 7 Arena on old gen, standard controller to only be placed against Division 8, 240 FPS PC MKB players. Killer mains on this forum try to frame the role as impossibly difficult when it is, in fact, pretty easy when considering what multiplayer games are meant to require of the player.

Killer is becoming increasingly dumbed-down. Legion gets a yellow add-on that doubles his power and provides 20s wall hacks, Artist can shut down any loop with no skill involved, Nurse's double range add-ons, etc. If Dredge is facing four console players, Nightfall is free downs considered you can't navigate the map because it's too dark. It's not hard to come up with a build on every single killer to ensure a 80-90% win rate. If it were, there wouldn't be so many streamers on 50-, 100-, and 200-game win streaks.

In addition to four perk slots, killers now have 2 stacks of STBFL, Tier 1 Brutal, more than 2 stacks of Thana guaranteed, a buff to Bloodlust as a last-ditch, final crutch, and a nerf to survivor speed boost after injury. You'll still be complaining about Sprint Burst, 99 exit gates, and how Blood Warden is not base kit.

20 seconds of killer instinct in dbd can either be incredibly good or incredibly insignificant, for example, those 20 on nurse or blight can be an actual game ender, but on an m1 like legion, they are a mere hinderance to good survivors.

On the topic of the game not being competitive, a good survivor team will mop the floor with legion any day of the week, 20 seconds or 40 seconds of killer instinc won't matter against a good loop.

It always comes down to survivors being bad, according to killer mains on this forum. A killer that needs 20 seconds of wall hacks is bad. In any other multiplayer game, 20 second wall hacks is not normal and it is massively imbalanced.

  • @RisingTron said:

Lol, you just sound like someone who just doesn't know how to play against a legion and just wants to loop them and play against them like a trapper. You probably also want all killers to be the same and be able to loop them all the same instead of learning how to play around with their weaknesses. Also, news flash DbD isn't really supposed to be a super competitive game... Stop trying to turn this game in some e-sport game :P

It's not a competitive game. It's not a balanced game. It's not a balanced game because 20 seconds of wall hacks makes a game imbalanced and anti-competitive. I've already said this. I do not sweat at this game. If someone thinks 20 secods of wall hacks is balanced, there you find the sweatlord. There you find the one who wants an unfair game. lol

Legion is still m1, so in said match even if legion has momentum, any chase against someone decent with DH should be enough for the team to reset, and do a gen or at least 70% if slowdown is at play.

Looping legion is probably one of he easiest things in this game, if they went down to a non-frenzied legion in less than a minute, they are not good at the game.

Dead Hard is no longer relevant. This is a multiplayer game. 20s of wall hacks and stacked slowdown is anti-competitive.

  • @Krazzik said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3066352#Comment_3066352

It's alright on most killers and only strong on Plague and Legion. Another 2% slowdown at full stacks isn't much of a buff. Also even with his best addons Legion is still low-tier.

I watched this one pretty popular streamer play Legion after their buff. The only two add-ons he ran were Never-Sleep Pills and Mural Sketch. Every match played out the same. He'd get an early Frenzy down and the match would become a 1v3 before three gens were completed. After the first survivor was eliminated, he would still try for a Frenzy down but never get it (you don't need to go for another Frenzy down after one survivor is eliminated and it's basically throwing the match if you try). At that point he would start complaining that the match is becoming too sweaty and he's not going to win. But, the fact is that he would never run Legion optimally, probably to keep viewers engaged. He didn't run stacked slowdown. Optimal Legion is Never-Sleep Pills, Mural Sketch, and stacked slowdown, starting with Thana. Legion is not low-tier with that build. It's 20s of wall hacks, plus 20 seconds added to gens after the update. What more does one need?

  • @Hoodied said:

I forgot about Pentimento. Maybe it shouldn't be a hex.

  • @YOURFRIEND said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3066352#Comment_3066352

People have this outdated notion of not healing vs. legion. There are circumstances in which it's good to heal: when the alternative is sitting with 4 stacks of thana for instance. Never sleep legion is outrunnable, 20s is not forever. A never sleep legion also gets injuries slower than a normal one and is easier to bodyblock when you're in deep wounds. If you run Circle and a healing perk of your choice you can make regaining health states fairly efficient.

People seem to have this tiresome mindset of wanting to play vs. every killer the same way without playing to their weaknesses or doing any thinking. It's annoying.

20s of wall hacks. 20s to potentially make gens take nearly two minutes. This is not balance. Huntress does not get 10 hatchets, Deathslinger does not get his hitbox doubled in size, Trickster doesn't get 88 knives. Never-Sleep Pills is completely broken and it's training wheels.

  • @CookieBaws said:

So your idea is to turn this perk into pentimento galore?

I don't think that survivors have THAT much time for removing hexes as you think.

I agree with you. Survivors don't have enough time to cleanse all five totems, especially after the update. But Lullaby is a perk that can be at full strength and still not be anywhere near overpowered. It's not that hard to hit skill checks without the auditory warning. It adds a twist to the match, though, that isn't present when every killer runs META perks. Blood Warden and Rancor are the two other perks that are in the same category.

  • @Ryuhi said:

All Legions run Thana because they feel like they need to, right?

If we follow BT logic, that means it needs a buff as well as a weaker version included as basekit :)

Thana is run to make games anti-competitive in favor of the killer. BT is a reaction to anti-competitive, low-skilled killer "strats", i.e. tunneling. You do not need Thana against four randoms.

  • @Krazzik said:

The perk is getting a very minor buff and is currently -only- really strong on Legion, who is a low-tier killer.

It's broken on Plague and Legion and strong on every other killer. After the update, merely two stacks of Thana increase gens to 100 seconds. Already too much and too easy to activate. It's a bad perk.

As far as Legion being low-tier, what is so hard about playing them with Never-Sleep Pills and Mural Sketch (the majority of Legions I've faced since their buff run these two add-ons specifically)? Free wall hacks, survivors are one-shot, gens are slow, etc. It's training wheels.

  • On Deathslinger, yes. I think he's the killer that gets the most value out of it.

  • Go look up Pro Vengeance on Youtube if you don't believe it.

You're right, approaching two minutes of holding a button that can be done consecutively amongst your team. It's the same thing as before, just fresher paint. Even if that paint look bland as hell. I don't think it's anti-competitive when BHVR has said killrates are too low.

Solo survivors don't have the coordination to deal with 110-second gens. Lots of killers will say lack of skill explains why solo survivors are unsuccessful. If killers need 110-second gens to deal with solo survivors, that is a a skill issue.

As far as kill rates, only numbers matter. The latest data is from Dec.-Jan. and show around 55% kill rate. Solos survive 15% less than SWF. This is a crossplay game, too. The Deathslinger on Switch is incorporated into the same data as PC MKB Blight even though they're two different things. Yet, they've received the same buffs. A lot of things on the killer side are going to be easy mode and not worth playing against for solo survivors.

  • @foxsansbox said:

While I agree mending isn't that fun, yall aren't really spending that much extra time on gens because of thana. He's not exactly kicking them or causing regression while he's frenzying around.

Also, you want killers nerfed and less diversity, this is how you end up with less diversity.

4 stacks of Thana increase gens to 110 seconds. That's a difference of 14 seconds and approaching two minutes of holding a button that will inevitably get interrupted anyways. Thana is the worst of all words: unfun, uninteresting, and anti-competitive. And it's going to be even worse come Tuesday. It's an imbalanced, boringly conceived perk and it's boring to play against.

Because most players are total ######### potatoes. Nurse is obviously strong. And when there's such a disparity in skill. Coupled with a strong killer. You get SupaAlf

You have to take in to account win conditions too. Otz just did one recently where he used all perks on all killers....Ok cool, but his win streak conditions was a 3k.

Killer IS harder then survivor, and it's not even close. You have to pay attention to every detail on the map. You have to juggle 4 people. You have to learn mind games and what works. You have to read 4 different survivors.

Killer may be harder than survivor, mechanically, but there still is a code you can crack and the code isn't that hard to crack (strong perks, strong add-ons, camping and tunneling). It easily overwhelms solo survivors. Gens are about to be longer, chases shorter, but two solo survivors will still run for the same unhook. Some are bad, but it also happens because they're not allowed some baseline coordination to keep up. Commonly on this forum, solo survivors losses are a result of no skill and killer losses are because "Plague is c-tier". That's not the case.

My guy lol. This has got to be some of the funniest posts in awhile. Just because someone is good at DBD. Does not mean they're not good at other games. I won a 20k COD tournament with my friends before. I went 50-0 in Madden already, and was close to making it to club champion to compete in other tournaments already. You can be skillfull at multiple things 🤣

My initial response was to a post along the lines of "survivor is easy, killer is hard". If killer is hard, why does SupaAlf win 200 matches in a row as Nurse and why does Pro Vengeance win 50 matches in a row with C-Tier killers? These win streaks will be even easier with the coming update. Multiplayer games have to be balanced and not just a power fantasy for one side. 50 wins in a row is as imbalanced as 200.

Are you talking about the same otz that does no hit run in fromsoft game and no hit runs with crazy restrictions but yeah he's only good at killer because it's easy. Aslo didn't QxC or whatever try dbd and quite because the game was way unbalanced against the kill and count hit a Huntress hatchet to save his life???

Single-player games are not the same as multiplayer games. There's predictability to it that's not present in competitive multiplayer games.

A lot of the notable killer mains in DBD are approaching middle-age or are middle-aged whereas top Fortnite players are in their teens; they have greater neuroplasticity and reaction times at that age. Survivor movement is slow in DBD. As far as xqc, I typed in his Huntress gameplay on youtube and the first result is a CoconutRTS reaction video to it. In the video, he's not even half-way to Devotion level 1 but in the first trial he hits a Nancy vaulting a window from 10-15 meters and minutes later downs a Bill from about 30 meters. The only times he missed were because he wasn't being patient and going for lower probability hatchets. The video furthers my point. If he played the game consistently he would be a top-tier Huntress.

To add, though, what is there to make of SupaAlf's 200-game win streak as Nurse if this game is so hard on killer? I've gone up against Pro Vengeance three times in the last month while he is going on 50-game win streaks with lower-end killers. He was finishing up a 50-game win streak with Doctor one time. The other two times he was at whatever consecutive wins with Leatherface. This is only getting buffed in the coming update. My concern is with solo survivors and this game is becoming increasingly unfair towards them.

  • It'd make it too easy to get value from Pentimento.

This. People play survivor because it's brain dead easy and killer is too hard. 90 second gens and slightly faster kicking is going to do very little with the way the busted maps are

Killer's easy. Had Otz put all the time in Fortnite that he has in DBD, he would never get placements or earnings. In contrast, a top Fortnite player like Bugha would 4k every match after one or two months of learning the game and role. There's no example of a killer main switching over to CS:GO and playing it at its highest level. DBD is not that hard and the players that try to take advantage of every broken perk or playstyle are probably those that cannot succeed at other competitive games.

  • She's definitely hard on last gen. That's how to balance her. She can only be played on PS4 or the xbox equivalent.

  • I, too, play solo survivor and killer. The coming update is going to be a disaster for solo queue. I stopped playing today after going against a streamer who was finishing up a 50-game win streak with Doctor. He had a map offering, NOED, Deadlock, No Way Out, Dead Man's Switch, purple Calm and Discipline add-ons. He camped and hard tunneled the first survivor out of the match. I DC'd the moment he downed her the third time and, then, she followed with the DC. It's unplayable and this playstyle has been made even easier with the coming patch. With all the buffs killers are getting, it's going to be a little less cute and a little less tolerable the next time Wraith hits you on the hook or Bubba camps the first survivor he downs, etc.

The streamer, by the way, has numerous 50- and 100-game win streaks on killers playing like this. There are posts on the forum showing his Bubba "playstyle". It's boring and a waste of time. I understand SWF is strong but neglecting solo queue in this way leaves a sour taste in my mouth and I'm not going to be playing survivor, at least, when the update comes.

There is wisdom in crowds at times, and the last update that was hated before it even arrived was the HUD/UI changes that were jammed through last year without playerbase input. The playerbase was right in that instance. It got changed quickly but I don't think that will happen this time. It is a shame.

  • Hopper and Eleven or Joyce as survivors, the reintroduction of Hawkins National Laboratory, Vecna as killer, Robin as a legendary for Nancy, maybe Billy as a legendary for both Steve and Vecna, Steve's basketball outfit from season 2, and Starcourt Mall as the map.

If you're a mediocre survivor that's a you problem. I'm not mediocre and solo q is still garbage :)

It's common on this forum to hear that solo survivors lose because we're all mediocre. When the killer loses, it's 4-man SWF, or Plague being C-Tier at best, or whatever else. It's always skill issue with solo survivors, but never for the plucky underdog killer.
