I stopped reading when you said ruin was still worthwhile xD
What's the point of the wailing and screaming of Nightfall if the game becomes Dead by Regression? Really cringe. It's not lost on me that you choose to argue Ruin and not any other regression perk. I KNOW that Ruin isn't as strong as the others.

BS. Kicking the gen is a waste of the killer’s time. The reason scourge and ruin were so popular pre patch is because the killer didn’t have to kick anything.
Eruption, Call of Brine, and Overcharge are now popular. All gen-kicking perks. Not a waste of killer's time, and just the base regression is 2.5%. Pain Resonance, as far as regression, is stronger than it ever was. Pop is still good and the killer can create an effective build centered around Ruin. All gen regression perks are strong.

If you're arguing survivor perks should be as strong as Killer perks you're ignoring that this is an asymmetrical game. Survivor perks have to be significantly weaker than Killer perks because this is an asymm.
I'm going to guess you haven't played Killer very much if you can't see how removing those auras is a hindrance to the Killer.
I play solo survivor and killer on old gen. I do not run slowdown on killer and I run coordination perks on solo survivor. Survivor perks are not particularly strong, especially now that Dead Hard is not good. "Second chance" perks are anti-tunneling and anti-camping perks. Camping and tunneling are stronger than such perks.
Play plenty of killer and solo survivor. I know that solo survivor is much harder.

@TheSubstitute said:

Exactly, it's a great combo.
Not being able to see auras doesn't prevent a killer from continuing his/her objective. Incapacitating a survivor does. Solo survivor, I'm running Kindred, Open Handed, Bond, and an exhaustion. Fearmonger, a general killer perk, negates my entire loadout. Residual Manifest and Blast Mine, even as a combo, doesn't approach the strength of certain killer perks. Especially if the survivors are solo.
-
@TheSubstitute said:
If you pair Blast Mine with Residual Manifest the Killer also loses the ability to see gen auras and hook auras for 30 seconds.
Hook auras aren't important after kicking a gen. As far as gen auras, the killer should know where gens are. That's two perks, also. With Eruption, solo survivors have to stick to gens and do not know when a teammate is going down. Knockout, Third Seal, Fearmonger are like perks to use against solo that don't work against SWF. Eruption is the new one. Get rid of these perks.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
I use Blast Mine in SoloQ mostly to tell my team that I've been pushed off a gen, please someone come to this gen. Sometimes they get the message, sometimes they don't.
There's that value to it.
-
@Sludge said:
Delete Eruption then no one cares about these trash perks
Delete it, I'm fine with it. For the meantime, though, it's META.
-
@ThatOneDemoPlayer said:
Eruption isn't OP, it just hurts Solo more than SWF
It's certainly OP against Solo. You have to stay on a gen to win in solo and you don't know when a teammate is going down. The Killer doesn't deserve regression, notification, and incapacitation of the solo survivor for kicking a gen and getting a down. If the game's going to be balanced, perks should be fun and not determine match outcomes.
-
@S4ShadowWolf said:
The issue you are describing is an issue with tunneling. What does Eruption have to do with it? It does what it does. You losing a team member through tunneling has nothing to do with the power of Eruption.
Tunneling is extremely low-effort and wildly effective. Eruption is the same. You kick a gen, you get regression, notification, and incapacitation against the solo survivor that has to stick to gens to even have a chance. It's low-effort, way too effective, and imbalanced.

Another 5 year+ player leave the game because of loosing vs "Babykillers" .... Yep its the new patch not the "Skill issues" without the E Button.
The best survivors ran Dead Hard and I'm saying that as someone who uses Sprint Burst. When Fortnite introduced No Build, players who couldn't build or edit began accusing those who could as not being able to aim. It was always nonsense because to edit well takes aim. It's the same nonsense, survivors that were good with Dead Hard are still good without it. It's just that killer is now easy mode just like No Build is easy mode in Fortnite.

First about the killrate: Behaviour told us not to use them as argument, because they are over all skill rates. Nurse has the lowest killrate, which doesn't mean she needs a buff.
About the information: Yes, with Leathal Persuer you can find the box right at the beginning, but it is only natural, that perks are better on some killers than on others, so I don't see a problem with Leathal just being good on Pinhead.
The sound the box makes furthermore very subtle, so you only really hear it, when you are more or less standing right on it. It is only there, because without it, it could easily happen that you run right over it without noticing, as it is really small, and that would imo not really make sense.
The info you get if you pick the box up is not that critical either, because first, as I stated, it is almos always a reward for good gamesense and thus deserved, and second, to make a little comparison here, doctor's Static Blast works similarily. Now, admitedly, Static Blast gives less info, but it is a Ability with cooldown where you only have to press a button. The box on the other hand only gives you info either once or twice a match or if you deserve it, depending on your skill as Pinhead.
The info you get when someone solves the box is also in most scenarios rather unimportant. Sure, if there are two survivors left, you're chasing one, and then you hear the sound of the box, you know there is no gen being done. But if there are more survivors it is really hard to get reliable infornation. Now you could argue that it helps if you don't know where survivors are, and this is true. It undeniably tells you, where to go to find someone. But I would not call this broken, because you get similar, maybe even more info by just patroling gens, because you find a survivor, which is the same result as with the box, AND you now know the progress of a gen. If you just teleport, there might pop two gens you could have stopped by not following that information. So yes, he gets information, but using this information to you advantage is difficult. You can't just blindly follow the info you get, because you would neglect other necesary info you have to gather yourself.
About the passive slowdown: There are many killers that come with passive effects. Sometimes its slowdown, like Pinhead or Pig have them, or it is the ability to keep survivors injured, like the Plague can. This is in generally no big deal. You can balance these passives just like you can balance active abilities, and Pinheads passive, yes, is strong, but not broken or anything. The Pigs passive slowdown arguably is stronger, but her power overall is not as strong, so it doesn't really matter. I think Pinhead is in a really good spot, balance-wise.
(Pardon me if there are many typos, I'm writing on my phone, which comes with it's difficulties.
Also I hope my explanaitions are at least to some extend understandable, my ability to explain is not the best I think.)
The explanations are well-done.

Is it personally offensive if one doesn't think Pinhead is difficult?
-
@Alex_ said:
I do not understand why you are complaining tbh. imo the box part of his power is really well implemented and interresting. I always like killers that not "only" have a power like anti-loop or mobility, but also have something that rewards them even more for good gamesense. The lament configuration rewards you for knowing the location of all survivors. On the one hand, it allows good players to regularily find the box or at least integrate it well into the match, while on the other hand, players that are new to the game or dont play pinhead a lot etc. won't get a lot of value. Obviously it gets them a little genslowdown, but that is to a fair.
It would be unfair, if he would get info for free, spoonfed as you called it. But the best information you only get for playing well, which is completely justified. The amount of info you get for free is relatively unimpressive and is not a reason to nerf him in any way.
The locations of survivors in the beginning of the match can be shown with Lethal Pursuer. The Pinhead player can either follow the aura of a survivor running to a remote corner of the map or head to the area of the map where survivors didn't spawn. The box also makes noise when in its vicinity. Pinhead is given information when a survivor interacts with the box and when he, himself, picks up the box. Outside of aura-reading perks, this is spoon-fed.
Add to that, he gets a passive power as strong as the chain hunt and the built-in slowdown that comes with survivors having to juggle the box along with gens, healings, unhooks, chases, etc. As far as I'm concerned, this doesn't belong in a multiplayer game. His kill rate is the highest for a reason.

He gets played a lot more in low mmr because higher mmr players usually prefer more viable killers like Spirit, Nurse and Blight. Since he's mainly played in low mmr, this means he goes up against a lot of new players, which he kills because he's powerful against against them. This gives him high kill rates.
Nurse is difficult to master; this means that people will try to play her and get stomped a lot. God Nurses are rare; most people are average or downright bad with her. This means her kill rates suffer.
Also, please stop copy-pasting your arguments. We understand that Pinhead has the highest kill rate and that you consider Nurse to be supoptimal on most platforms.
Pinhead costs real money to unlock. He's not going against a lot of new players. New players go up against Trapper and Huntress and other free to play characters. I go against Pinheads but, also, Pro Vengeance and gtvel. They 4k whenever they want, they're not low mmr. Solo queue doesn't have the time or coordination to deal with the box, I'm guessing that's why he has the kill rates he does. It's even more imbalanced since the update.
Nurse being difficult to master is neither here nor there. One does not have to master her to 4k with her, simply average is all that's needed. If one is downright bad on her, they're on controller, console, or do not have enough hours on her.
You're saying I copy-paste arguments while your arguments consist of "low mmr", "not viable at red ranks", "Nurse's low kill rates"?

Example: The Saloon gen on Dead Dawg. Without fail, my teammates do that gen early and basically hand the victory to the Killer because the rest of the gens are close together.
This way my biggest reason for hating Hawkins Laboratory. There were 2 gens on the upper floors, and every match they'd get done first. Then the Killer can just go on auto-pilot and win.
I know I'm preaching to the choir on here. But this happens so often, I swear a huge chunk of players don't realize it matters which gens you do and which you don't do.
My first thought was Hawkins. I always did the easy gens first.

They purposely don't release statistics because people like yourself misrepresent them every chance they get. Its why we only ever get them from occasional developer streams, and they always tell us to take them with a grain of salt. At this point i'm convinced they don't even disseminate the information correctly and skip variables themselves.
You are welcome to think he is broken. Despite my remark earlier, you are completely allowed to think he is the most op killer in the universe. Other people know better though, and have more experience to both formulate their opinion with. Playing a killer is 10000% the best way to learn how to counter them, just like how killers who are good at survivor can often predict their movement. Pinhead in particular was designed very safe, and has a tremendous amount of counterplay options.
For all the memery, my point was to learn the matchup, just like ever other killer. As long as a single survivor understands how to best handle the box mechanic, he should pretty much never get his chain hunt off unless he finds the box himself.
Highest kill rate is highest kill rate. It's not misrepresentation. It's because of his passive power.

Give another statistic, then. There have been statistics that show Pig has a high kill rate. I don't think she's busted, but she does have one thing in common with Pinhead. It's a built-in slowdown. Add 90s gens to built-in slowdown, especially Pinhead's, and there's a clue as to why I think he's really broken.

Fortnite is always skill-based. Even if you get sh^t on by a PC MKB player that spends four hours a day on Creative. With Pinhead, I may die because of his built-in Tinkerer, or his built-in 90sgenPentimentoFullThana slowdown chain hunt, or the fact that there isn't time to do gens, box, heals, chases, totems, etc. There are talented Pinhead mains, but the majority of matches come down to survivors not having enough time to juggle all things required of them.

Ummm...Your bogus claims were about Nurse?
You literally have no way to identify if any soul in the entire universe is playing Nurse more than a single game on Switch.
The reality is if if she was only losing games at the lower end of the bell curve her killrate would be absurdly high. We know this by understanding that there are thousands of games being played a day - the people on switch and console, if you are accurate, would have to be willingly losing over and over on a sub-optomized killer for their console.
And we have evidence on her killrate, provided by BHVR. So we know that to not be true.
If you want meaningful numbers on her kill rate, differentiate between input, platform, and hours played as her. I'm responding to claims that she has the lowest kill rate. That's meaningless. If you want to know her true potential, differentiate between these meaningful differences.

Killer: Juggle 4 survivors and keep track of their perks, 7 gens, hook states, the box, chasing with an anti loop that's actually more difficult than nurse without the reward of a guaranteed hit
Survivor: Occasionally deal with the box, drop pallets, hold m1 on gens and not 3 gen, occasionally cleanse a hex, unhook people, heal
I, also, play killer. Deathslinger doesn't get the free Tinkerer that gives him the free map mobility that gives him the free chase. He doesn't get the free infinite stall that comes with chain hunt, for shame.

Uh, some mechanics need a few more time put into them to be understood, like Pinhead's teleport.
Teleporting to the box is usually a waste of time and loses your pressure, but you don't know that because you've never played him, and don't know how to play against him.
Skill issue
I play Deathslinger and Huntress on PS4, it's not a skill issue. And teleporting to the box is not skill-related, it's just game management. And the Tinkerer notification never goes away.

Every Killer is suboptimal on Switch.
Nurse is a worse on controller, but not suboptimal and still playable.
10 hours on Nurse don't mean much, play 10 hours on Nurse and show us results of you playing against equally skilled Survivors.
Pinhead doesn't have infinite stall, he has a 1v4 Power that is fully in the hands of the Survivors. The only way he'll find the box is if he's lucky or the Survivors showed it to him.
Infinite Tinkerer? Since when does Pinhead have Tinkerer in his base-kit? You even played h-oh wait you don't even have him.
Disscussing Pinhead with you is worthless, I see
No mechanic in this game is that hard to understand once you have enough hours put into. He has infinite Tinkerer because whenever a survivor tries to solve the box, Pinhead gets a notification to go there. How many DBD players have complained about the labyrinth that are RPD's hallways and corridors? Pinhead doesn't need to be bothered with it. He just teleports wherever whenever he gets the Tinkerer notification.
I'm not complaining about Nurse. She's kinda spooky and Pinhead's kinda lame.

"PvP game" do you know what PvP means or do you just throw this term around hoping your argument makes any sense? His power requires him to learn how to approximate box spawns based on estimations of the other survivors locations and even the best pinheads can't guarantee it spawns in a certain spot. Survivors are "spoonfed" where the is box is at omg no game sense and they're even visually shown when chain hunts are going to start!
Survivors are given an aura reading to prevent infinite stall. How difficult would matches be for the Pinhead player if survivors had no way to know where the box is? How playable would it be? It's free chain hunts, a passive power. Regardless, he has the add-on that obscures the box's aura.
For all the talk that survivor is easy mode, what about Pinhead? When you really break down his design, how much does it really ask of the player?

And the majority of the Survivors are bad at the game, therefore an M1 Killer like Pinhead with a passive that hinders them (like Pig, who also had a high kill rate) has a high kill rate.
Also Nurse has the lowest kill rate so those statics don't really mean anything
Nurse is suboptimal on Switch, controller, last gen, and new gen. PC MKB players -- nothing against them -- with at least ten hours on Nurse do not have the lowest kill rate in the game. There's no practice mode with bots, either, and she has a high skill floor. Survivors can be bad, that doesn't mean that Pinhead doesn't ask much of the player. Infinite stall, infinite Tinkerer notifications.

You complain about chain hunts while also complaining about him teleporting to the box, but that stops the chain hunt from happening. YOU control where he teleports and when you can easily wait until he's occupied picking up a survivor or doing literally anything else to solve the box.
It's not a complaint. He already had the highest kill rate in the game prior to the patch because there is not enough time to do gens, unhooks, chases, heals, totems, boxes, gates. Chain hunt is a passive power that swings a PvP game massively in favor of one side. In order to prevent a chain hunt, it results in Pinhead being spoon-fed information that requires zero game sense. His power asks nothing of the player controlling him. Everybody says survivor is easy. It's a PvP game. His power does not belong in it.

So his power should be nerfed because every 15 games you go against pinhead and your teammates have other priorities? If your teammates aren't doing the box you should be taking initiative. Expecting anything out of teammates who could be doing archives or hiding in a bush is setting yourself up for disappointment. Survivors have more than enough time to do gens & deal with the box they just don't want to.
His power should be reworked because it's, yes, OP. It's Op, I've said it. Especially against solo survivors.

I play him sometimes and if the survs are a bit experienced you almost never see the chainhunt active.

IF, big if, pinhead needs nerfs his numbers should be tweaked. Making the box RNG is awful and cuts both ways, If it can RNG spawn under a survivors feet it can also RNG spawn under pinheads and insta completing the box for either side on spawn is not very fun
Pinhead getting a chain hunt because the box spawns at his feet would be extremely bad design. If it spawns at the feet of a survivor, he still has a "go here" teleport when they begin to solve it. If that's what it takes, it should spawn at a place where a survivor can reliably retrieve it before Pinhead.
-
@LeFennecFox said:

You can admit that those statistics don't show the proper picture of nurse's strength yet think pinhead is too strong because of the same statistics. DBD is not a PvP game where the player with the better aim wins it is a 1v4 asymmetrical horror game where the big picture 1v4 is more important that just individual chases in the 1v1. Managing pinhead's box is the 1v4 and the only strong part of his kit that's why his anti loop isn't that powerful. It's the same with pig or any other passive slowdown killer they sacrifice something to get protentional slowdown.
Pinhead's kill rate is easy to explain because of the obvious strength of his passive power. There's only so much time for solo survivors to do gens, get unhooks, last in chase, and run to the box and solve the box. They don't have enough time before getting killed is the explanation.
-

Pinhead is garbage, was okay on release but now hes bad against any good group of survivors sadly...
Talking about his passive power. Highest kill rate in the game means he's not garbage.
