Doesn't seem like Capcom needs BHVRs help with sales since RE8 has already set a number of records.
You really can't measure greed though. My comment was more an unlikely reason but still a possibility.

And I'd like to add to that, when they did start developing the new killer, they were however aware of the small role lady D was going to play. I feel like both Capcom and BHVR would want a more significant killer than someone they knew wasn't going to play a big role in RE8, and didn't know would be an actual success with the fanbase.
I mean you could also see it is as Capcom would only allow BHVR to use Lady D to boost sales of RE8

That's why I always run thrill of the hunt with hex perks.

That's always been the case and is the case for buffed lucky break too
That does have some power behind it.

Timer of lucky break is paused whilst healthy, downed, hooked, or wiggling.
Interesting I wasn't aware of that. Is that new, I never ran the perk before.
-
DWM can be used regardless of health state and used multiple times in a match. LB can be used once and is only activated while injured. I don't know if duration time is paused during hook state as well but it'll be rare to come into effect if you're hooked because it's purpose is to avoid being hooked all together.
-
I only do it if a survivor is being a jerk. Because it is oh so satisfying.
I don't know how they would fix that though
-
Had a braindead bubba complain that he loss because it's a 4v1 and full group when my teammates were on a different platform. Honestly can't win with some people.
-
Luckily I'm not a red rank killer I stay around green and purple which is very much where my skill is at. But as a red rank survivor I'm really inconsistent I've got rank 1 but I think that's because I run BT, small game, and are ballsey on gen completion so I get the emblems to pip but I'm not a looping god like some red ranks are.

Where can I find all these changes, I only know the struggle mechanic is getting changed, nothing about Freddy or small game or anything else
The small game changes are on the PTB patch notes.

Only thing I am bummed about is the totem counter being tied to a perk and not being basekit. Making it basekit would be an awesome buff to solo queue but now it only informs the survivor who brought it which is pretty meh. Detectives is still a much better totem finding tool.
Yeah I felt that was kind of a cop out of what people were requesting

There shouldn’t be a perk that is made for countering a killer’s specific power. I’m glad they removed the trap detection part of it.
Isn't that what calm spirit technically does with the doctor?

@ilovedbd123 said:
No, it's to give survivors a totem count which is a huge nerf to noed, in the form of a perk.
Yeah see that's what is weird to me I don't see how anyone who ran small game would have an issue with noed to begin with.

Thank you. All this news about the PTB got me confused

Hag and Doctor are not free on PC.
-
But how would I excuse my loss😱😱😱
-
If a survivor wants to dc and wait 5minutes instead of what less than 1 minute let them. AFK report them. A person who dcs because they can't give up instantly is petty and pathetic.
-
That don't have to be a SWF to be ######### they just have to be arrogant. If I'm ever accused of being in a swf I'll admit it but 99% of the time it's just my wife and I and some killers thought we were a 4k. You get to a high enough rank as survivor a majority of the time your teammates (who aren't on comms) know what to do without communication the only slight disadvantage would be not knowing that the killer is camping. Otherwise most good survivors will focus on gens if they're not in contact with the killer. If they see someone going for a hooked survivor they'll turn around and go back to work on a gen.
-
I think if they just make iri heads work like how BNP works with Built to Last that'd be fine it's really the combo with infantry belt that's the issue.
-
Honestly I feel better when playing if I try for just 4 bbq stacks less pressure that way at the end and at the end I'm just like well at least I got a 100% bonus Bloodpoints. Playing killer can be daunting because not only do you want to get that 4k but the loathing possibility that you'll run into try hard salty trolls.
-
It does need a rework but it's not OP. I think an aura reading would be a nice addition and have the negatives be reduced but apply to all hooks. With an aura reading it could be good. If the aura only activated 32-40m away like a reverse bbq chili.

That's a buff my dude.
To reword that... if/when you decide to put your knives away, it'll take 1 second to go back to moving at 110% and being able to swing your bat instead of 1.25 seconds. That by itself isn't a large buff, but it is a buff.
I think they probably nerfed it to get a better handle on how the buff will work on his throwing knives.
-
WGLF(bloodpoint and that healing dying state is legit clutch)
Small Game(Bloodpoints and hex removal, I'd use Detective's hunch but sometimes you get potatoes that can't finish 1 gen.)
Borrowed Time (To make campers salty and for clutch saves)
Last one varies Deliverance/Tenacity/Unbreakable/Flip-flop
-
Should they be bothered by people saying it no. Should the people saying it be punished when they're threatening their lives yes.

I understand what you are saying but there are mechanics in the game to stop it or atleast make it not appealing to the killer to camp. The scenario I explained is one. If people used Kindred it would be easier, camaraderie is another to make the second stage of the hook process take a very long time. Also if the PIP system was more kind to the killer ( not an easy card but something viable ). There are ways around it. It does suck for the person on the hook if they are getting face camped but there are ways to punish campers.
Yeah I always run BT because I feel bad for players who get that poor hand. I think Kindred needs to be moved to base kit and a lot other people agree. I'm guessing one of the devs like s'mores that's why they haven't bothered with it yet. I think camaraderie pauses only when a survivor is within 16m so it's helpful but honestly not by much.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/239836/anti-tunneling-camping
Why is insidious a perk? What would someone use insidious for? If someone is getting camped it takes 2 full minutes to die. It takes 80 seconds for 1 survivor to do a Gen solo with no items or perks. 3 survivors can get 3 gens completed by the early part of the struggle phase. With 40 seconds left 2 of the remaining 3 can knock out a 4th while the person on the hook dies and your down to one Gen left with 3 survivors. The counter to a camping killer is do gens.
Don't get me wrong I know when a killer is camping the best idea is to just do gens, but people throw this perfect scenario together where each survivor is always working on a separate gen when a killer is camping. I mean there are so many variables that they leave out but 90% of the time the killer can get a 2-3k from face camping easily.
-
It's annoying but doable, I do think it's odd that the requirements agree different though.
-
I hate all the farm maps on both sides second only to swamp
-
I understand camping at EGC it's like ######### let me get one kill. But within the first minute and there's no-one around it's eye rolling.
Granted there's some survivors whose definition of camping and tunneling is as wide as the horizon. Like if you just hooked someone and there was another survivor around and they think your camping and won't leave the hooked guy. Or that one guy that always gets caught every two minutes so he gets hooked. Because his teammates are better at hiding.
-
They are legit strategies but they should balance the killers so those strategies are less effective or appealing so killers can do other things. Ironically I believe that's the issue in most cases is that the killer feels that's how they will win is by playing a unfun strategy.
-
Just an assumption from playing from beta you may have to wiggle your camera back and forth rapidly when throwing knives to hit straight because depending on which side your throwing from it's off center.
-
In all seriousness a majority of my games as survivor when going against trickster involves at least 1 character dc or giving up on first hook so there maybe something to him we're just not seeing.
-
I still think a more passive anti-tunnel mechanic would be more beneficial. I advocate for a buff to Off The Record so a previously unhooked survivor leaves no scratch marks or pools of blood. That way it's not as bad as DS but also let's the survivor escape from a hook when they're not unhooked right in front of the killer.
-
I've fought him 4 times 2 my teammates gave up on first hook(dunno why?) 1 was a 3E(tunneled) and one was 2E teammates let people get to 2nd hook.
-
If they buffed off the record to include blood trails and scratch marks it'd be a better anti tunnel perk and let you escape easier but I doubt they would do that.

There's currently a bug where if you lunge into the pallet it will often just not stun you.
Imagine that breaking on release when a new perk revolves entirely around pallet stuns lmao.
Lol I knew that was a bug. Thought it was kind of ironic how a survivor with a perk based around getting pallet stuns gets released and pallet stuns are bugged.
-
Yeah purple killer is hell. You're not close to the skill you need to be at to play against reds. Green is where it's at.

I honestly know nothing about Jason and his lore or whatever so I have no idea how he would even operate in theory. I wasn't trying to infer that Trapper's ability is the same as what Jason does, I was simply saying they look extremely similar and I think it would be redundant to have two killers who look the same. Like so much the same that you could basically give Trapper a Jason cosmetic and all it would be is a mask and a worker jumpsuit and he would look exactly like Jason
The only other pair of killers in the game I can think of that look similar are Legion and Ghostface, and Ghostface and Legion's aesthetic is distinct enough to where they are not easily confused with one another
Yeah there's not that big of a visual difference between the two though I agree.

Jason is nothing but a buff man with a mask and workerman's clothing, which is what Trapper already has. And you already have Trapper cosmetics that look similar to Jason's, such as H20's mask. Will they look exactly the same? No, and I never said that either. But not distinct enough for me to think Jason is worth adding. I think it's really dubious to say they look nothing alike.
I also have no idea why you lot keep bringing up powers. I never said anything about powers. Why are you guys being heavily dishonest when responding to me and bringing up points I never mentioned? I never commented about what Jason's powers would be. I don't care
You lot are either trolling or being dense on purpose
I just wanted to cover the basis on how he could be different mechanically. But there's a lot in a name.

Iri head isnt the issue, infantry belt is.
Yeah I can see the power behind iridescent head add-on but it's more infantry belt that makes it OP you have 3 chances for ranged insta-down. If they locked Iri-head at 1 like how BNP works with Built to Last. It would be a lot better.
-
I believe they would start him off slow but he'd get faster the more chases he's in kind of like Meyers' Evil Within mechanic without the need to stalk. He could also have special interactions with breakables. Like if a survivor is on the other side or against a pallet or breakable wall he can do some sort of rush move which would cause an instant down and break the pallet and breakable wall. He'd also have a low TR by default or while in chase his TR is lessened. Traps don't have to be necessary, nice but not necessary.

It's been done differently this time. There was a link on DBD's Twitter, with a link to submit your designs. So, you can't see other people's designs unless they post them somewhere, like here for an example.
That's lame I like seeing people's artistic abilities because I lack so much in it😂 is it only for survivors or killers too?
-
Ghostface better win nothing like selfies and being able to photobomb them as a survivor.
-
Freddy because he has everything and doesn't have to work for it. Sleep passive. Teleport cd reduction no effort. Screws over perks and BP just by existing causing oblivious status. Gen speed add-ons. Can set to traps while in chase which make clown look like a joke. Only way to wake up is either go all the way across the map or fail a skill check letting him know where you are or on the off chance somebody got unhooked and is awake still.
Bubba because as soon as you know it's him and hear his Terror Radius you have to go to a loop with a vault to possibly survive because his chainsaw can chase you down and swerve around objects like a racecar.
