Preferably when surrender option is used in general, it just results in bots. It would ALSO suck if the game ended right before a killer could finish a mori challenge or something.
That's what I worry about this "When all survivors are slugged, they can surrender" thing. How long do they have to be slugged before the option pops up? Can I surrender as last survivor as soon as the killer downs me and no Mori for them? I really hope at the very least you are replaced by a bot so the killer can decide if they want to continue the game for challenges or whatever.

If you own Pinhead, then the perks will remain unlockable through prestiging Pinhead - in your case since you already have him P8, nothing will change for you, all other killers will still have access to the perks. Additionally, you'll also get to keep the original names and flavor text of those perks. This is different from how it was handled with Stranger Things, where the perks were changed to general perks for everyone with new names even if you owned the ST characters.
For those who don't own Pinhead, the perks will become general perks with new names and they will have to be unlocked through each killer's bloodweb individually the same as any other general perk.
There is more information in this FAQ:

Haemorrhage? I'm sorry, but it doesn't look right.
Yea, it's based on the Latin, which even most of Britain doesn't even use anymore, so that's what's even more confusing.

It's been a while since Stranger Things, but do newer players get to see the original perk names and text if I have them? Or do new players only see the new, generic stuff?
No, you see based on what YOU own.

There will not be refunds on perks or the character, whilst I understand the sentiment, you've had opportunity to use the perks prior to the removal in April.
If you do not own the character, the perk names will change to the general perk names that they will receive. If you own The Cenobite, you will retain the perk names and flavour texts.
Why are we retaining the names? Don't get me wrong, I would rather retain the names, but… this is going to cause so much confustion for the playerbase.

Yeah, they got rid of the one key/hatch challenge that was literally impossible, but none of them should remain, really. The frequency of opportunities to unlock a hatch is nowhere near what it once was (without throwing the match, anyway). It used to be like every other match.
They didn't get rid of it, they changed it and made it even more annoying because yes, you almost have to throw a match and sandbag your teammates for even a CHANCE.
-
I love how some people are blaming BHVR for this. They didn't choose to get rid of him, there is some issue with renewing the license and they have to.

How the hell did you guys get these done? Im solo q since all my friends quit this game. I cannot for the life of me escape without being hooked once with spine chill or finish 4 gens in a SINGLE match with dark sense. They're the last two challenges I need to get done and they feel impossible.
Can the devs change these to make them more feasible or not as infuriating at least?
Like at least with the killer challenges I was able to show I was friendly and the survivors obliged me. But hthe odds of a killer throwing me a bone, in todays DBD climate, next to nothing.
A lot of the early tomes were very hard, but the complete gutting of perks like Spine Chill made it so much worse. Don't get me started on those "Open the hatch with a key and escape" challenges that remain even after the changes to hatch.

This is actually a good point. There are a ton of players who have everything maxxed. I have played off and on for years and just now got my survivors all unlocked. The perks that is.
Well some of us do care about the BP and unless they address the accessibility issues of some killers, then losing an entire grade is way too harsh a punishment for something you can't help.

Back when I heard that Clive Barker had regained the rights to Pinhead, I wondered how that would work with Pinhead being in DBD. Yes, I'm aware of the other thing that went on with Pinhead, but I think the development with Barkers rights is probably the more pressing of the two things. After all, it's his sandbox and he gets to decide who plays in it. I do respect that, though the idea of having the character pulled does make me a bit sad as he's the main reason I first started playing DBD.
I understand that Pinhead has his haters in the fandom. And I don't dispute why, especially as his kit with the box cand chains can be particularly challenging for newer and casual players especially. But given how rarely I've ever encountered him as a survivor, I've never had any huge issues with running into "annoying Pinheads." And I love playing him and vs him anyway.
On the other hand, the situation with Barker could also be a positive. He does have a history of great collaborations and does have a history with video games. So any new agreements could bring even more great stuff to the character. As it stands, I think it's a potential Schrodinger's Pinhead situation. I am sorta hopeful.
Well, it was Clive Barker himself that got the voice lines in DBD. Doug Bradley and his wife said in their YouTube Podcast show that while Doug still has no idea what Dead by Daylight is nor does he care, he was happy to re-record the voice lines when Barker asked him to, and he's glad his fans are happy to have him in the game even if he doesn't care about the game himself.
So with the rumors that Pinhead might be leaving, I find that strange since if he did that, surely Barker wouldn't be pulling the rights now? Seems odd to me. -

Indeed. I'm still genuinely surprised they haven't made customisable moris a thing as it's another thing they can sell
I mean, they have. Three that I can think of so far. Naughty Bear (Trapper), Ultimate Houndmaster (granted that's only the Dog appearance changed, so you might not count that one) and True Form Dracula (Premium Rift, also has a Deep Rift variant though the Mori is the same on both)
Oh thought of a 4th. Were-Elk (Huntress) -

Other than Steve, she's my favourite character in the show and I loved seeing their friendship develop. The Stranger Things chapter won't be complete to me until they've added Robin (I know a lot of people would like to see Eddie enter the Fog as well. It would be so good to see them both in a future chapter).
Oh I am the other way around. I hated Steve in the first two seasons, as Robin says, he was such a douche. But the scene where she came out to him, that was so wholesome the way after about 30 seconds, he was totally able to accept that she was a lesbian, and transition to being her BFF rather than ever having a chance to date her. That redeemed him in my eyes and then some.

The bug is universal the problem is tied from the transfer from picking up to hooking.
Had it happen as wraith and I've seen blight had it too
Hmm, okay well they just implied it was a Wesker only problem, so because you could not guarantee that you would not be against/ teamed up with a Wesker, just don't play 2v8.

How does he feel about video games?
Well, back in the 90's when The Lawnmower Man movie was made, it was at the time "Stephen King's The Lawnmower Man' but it was so terrible and so loosely based on his book (that's a whole other story only adjacently relevant to his thoughts on video games) there was also a tie-in Lawnmower Man video game. He is not a player of video games (BUT he does appreciate them in the sense of he is very much against censorship of games. He doesn't have to play or really understand games to support them in that sense.) It was so terrible that in addition to suing to have his name removed from the movie, he was turned off to video game collaborations. It would take a miracle for BHVR to convince him to trust them.
-
I mean, I get why they couldn't just kill-switch Wesker, cause its an RE themed 2v8 and so they probably couldn't without making Capcom mad, but… they should have prioritized fixing the bug ASAP, and what that one CSR rep said was… very cringe. -

If there's nothing by the time the final chapter is released, I'll probably give up hope of ever getting Scoops Ahoy Robin into the game. I doubt we would get anything after the series has concluded but I guess you never know. I think there's slightly more chance if Netflix split the final season into two parts, like they often do for whatever reason. But if we do get a second chapter, I don't think it will be this year.
My suspicions are that BHVR and Netflix have had a pretty bad relationship since the loss of the license but I still hope they're cooking something up together.
My DBD name has been "Scoops Robin for DBD" since the removal of Stranger Things was announced, so great to see a fellow Robin fan still holding out hope.
-
I think Pennywise would be interesting, but there would need to be something very special about him/her to differentiate him/her from just another clown.
That, and Stephen King would likely have to change his mind about video games. Very unlikely.
(Also, yes I did put him/her, if you have read the book you know why.) -

It's a high level professional to keep a bug for 2 weeks that broke the game in 2v8 with wesker, that he grabs a surv and it keep it on shoulder keeping the killer in hostage to doing nothing and leave the other killer mate alone vs 7 ppl
The solution to the bug is to just go back to 1v4. Not their problem if you insisted on playing 2v8 knowing Wesker has that bug.
(Yes, this is sarcasm but a CSR rep did actually say this.) -

I'm more worried about potential cheaters being able to make players lose entire ranks on-demand (since cheaters can force a Survivor to die on 1st hook) and the potential future inability to leave at all against a cheater without getting a penalty.
Not to mention the inability to die on hook to give the last Survivor a chance at Hatch (however rare that it happens since the Finisher Mori and will never happen again if the surrender-when-slugged mechanic happens).
Not to mention that it's just impossible to fully stop people from leaving a game they don't want to play. If they can't go next on hook then they'll just run to the Killer and get in their way to get hooked asap.
(Side-note: would those people getting hooked quickly trigger the future "anti-tunnel" mechanic? How to distinguish between someone purposefully running to the Killer, accidentally running into a stealth Killer or getting tunnelled? Would the Killer have to slug to avoid the punishement? Would this trigger the anti-slug mechanic?)
Well they have said that running to the killer and getting them to hook you will be accounted for and included in the go next prevention.
-
I have said before and I will say again (and again and again and again) any attempt to punish or prevent slugging is fruitless. The REASON killers are slugging needs to be addressed. Why do so many do it? I have some ideas as a killer main who doesn't go out of my way to slug, but beyond that is above my pay grade.

Hackers can join basically any lobby they want (bypassing the MMR system entirely) and tend to target content creators to promote and sell those cheats.
It's the reason SpooknJukes has DBD on all platforms AND the Roblox discount version in case of hackers trying to hold him (and his stream by proxy) hostage forever. This has come in handy several times when hackers tried targeting him but he merely switched platform and continued streaming instead of quitting/DCing.
Side-note: the "Anti-go next" mechanic that has been announced in the "QoL update" could be a horrifying weapon for hackers since they are able to instantly kill Survivors on 1st hook (which might fool the game into thinking they went next and get a penalty).
Oh dang, I knew hackers could do that, but never thought of that possibility. Could be devastating especially with the punishment being losing an entire grade.

when i haven't been hooked they shouldn't have the option to mori me and its hair pulling type frustrating when the killer slugs the 3th to go for the 4th then hooks them and waits for them to die JUST to mori the last survivor and being their toxic they get the last laugh for killing me which was gonna happen regardless but I rather be hooked then moried it's like rubbing salt in the wound
So instead of the Mori, they hook you. You are still the last survivor left you still die. The Mori takes less time overall.

I have actually caught a gen speed hacker while I was survivor. They finished the gen in 40 seconds and they only did two. At first I went through all the possibilities. I run deja vu so I compared the second gen time. This person also had no gen perks or toolboxes they brought in.
I also reserve my judgment as killer because usually the first 3 gens fly but the last two are the ones that I get the most hooks or kills. If something did feel off I always check the perks. More often they make sense but sometimes they don't.
Right, I am not saying it doesn't happen, just not nearly as much as we might think it does… or maybe every game includes a subtle cheater. It's theoretically possible, though I doubt that to be the case.

- You can get punished by anti-tunnel perks even when you don't tunnel, that's a pretty major one.
- Being able to weaponize off-the-hook endurance and OTR endurance by body blocking teammates with it instead of using it for the intended purpose of being a buffer against getting tunneled. Removing collision on these features would be more fair.
- OTR invincibility sticks even when you get healed to full, it needs to drop off when becoming fully healed.
- If a survivor is unhooked and DS activates, it needs to deactivate if the killer downs and hooks a completely different survivor because the killer isn't tunneling at that point.
Yep, and it's only going to get worse I fear in upcoming patches as they apparently are going to do more "anti-tunnel" things.

Actually there are more subtle hackers than you think. There are swarms of people that admit it on other pages. While yes there is the obvious ones there some that are just subtle so they won't get caught. There are even forums selling a monthly subscription to get the hacks. I agree the massive obvious ones are few and far between but as of late I have encountered way more than I used to. One even backfired they had that snake one and I hit them at the gate and they teleported in the middle of the map 😆.
Maybe, maybe not. That's the real issue, you can never truly know. I could say I get 4 hackers in every lobby when i play killer. I am so good at Pig especially, anytime a survivor is faster than me, they must be speed hacking. Generators being finished a bit too fast? They must be hacking.
Really, what BHVR needs to do IMO is get rid of EAC and get a better way to combat cheaters. -

Weird how the top 3 killer perks are some of those useless slowdown perks. Surge, Grim, DMS, and Deadlock all in the top 15 too.
Yes, because they are necessary but even still, they are not nearly as effective as they used to be and these "anti-tunnel" and "anti-slug" things are likely to only be a bandaid, instead of addressing the REASON killers feel the need to do these things.

Well, I said "especially if" not meaning that was the only reason the bug might occur.
-
Yea, that's pretty wild. I have to imagine it's a mistake. At worst maybe if the challenges in that tome are particularly hard? I know there are a few early tomes I want the charms but can't be bothered to do the challenges (like open the hatch with a key? Back in the old days, sure.. But that's insanely more difficult now than it used to be.)

Yes but it excludes everyone except your system. It is actually more fair to play console on console than console PC in general.
Actually it's an even smaller pool than that. It's only those on your platform that ALSO have crossplay turned off.
That said, unless you are a big name streamer, it's unlikely very many of your matches are actually against cheaters/hackers. Even smaller streamers don't get them nearly as often, and if you are not a streamer at all, then it's very rare. Usually hackers tend to want an audience and to watch the world burn, so they use their hacking to target streamers that can give them that audience and allow them to 'ruin" a streamer's day/night. -

great, slugging will be even stronger now, why bother hooking if the survivor can just surrender on the ground?
Didn't think of that, but yeah. Especially how long will they need to be "slugged" for? If you do NOT "slug for the 4k" but still down the survivor, will they be able to surrender before you do the Mori and/or pick them up to carry them to the hatch? What if you do choose to, God forbid, slug for the 4k? Can both survivors just immediately give up? Will these surrenders count as a kill, or will they count as a bleed out? It's going to be Heck on Killer Adepts if the latter is the case.

Here's to hoping this stuff actually fixes the problem instead of making the problems worse
Some of this looks good, but some looks more like a bandaid at best. They need to address the REASON things like slugging, tunneling, and go next happen, not just slap on a bandaid with "QoL" written on it.

We can all agree DBD is having a problem with The Killer side of the game. This game is no longer fun as killer because you can just start the match and the survivors are already done doing the Gens. It's frustrating how one sided the game is now. Most killers can't keep up anymore with the new things. I wish the Devs would see this
If you are loading in and the gens are already done there are two scenarios, neither of which have to do with game balance.
1. You are dealing with cheaters/hackers.
2. You need to get off dial-up. -

Let's Discuss.
I usually only accept boops if I am wearing the Second Chance pig mask, and then only the first survivor gets hatch. If I am wearing the broken Reverse Bear Trap, then I kind of play it by ear as that's my "Perkless Pig" end game build. But if I am wearing Black Leather then I have chosen violence and everybody dies.

lol You're not wrong about Pig mains. I'm also one, and I also still give hatch. But I also think the finisher mori has been a very negative addition to the game, and I refuse to use it, even if it would let me take out an annoying survivor who'd otherwise escape. Honestly, I don't think I've spectated a hatch being given or watched a streamer get given hatch or received a gift hatch myself more than once or twice total since the update. Though a couple days ago I did purchase an escape with a medkit. The killer was very pleased with their new item :)
I'm also always curious about other Pig mains. I wonder what everyone's booping policy is. I make it so survivors almost never have a chance to boop before they get hit, but if they manage to boop, they live.
Well, we in the Society of Swine usually accept boops, rules vary by member, but at the same time sometimes you have to show the survivors who is in charge and wear your black leather jacket.
My personal policy is that if I am actually wearing the "Second Chance" Pig head, then I will accept the boop from the FIRST survivor to try. They get hatch, everyone else dies. But again, the Black Leather jacket means no mercy. -
