It's not completely random, it's literally in the sub-section titled "Using Keys". I found it immediately, didn't even have to read the entire article.

No, I very rarely edit the wiki. I have about 20 edits spread across 3 years.

The page on the wiki for "Hatch" could easily be about half of the length that it is.

  • I am still having the bug where there is no terror radius while on the hook and this goes for ANY killer.

The wiki is good, but it's not the wiki's fault if you don't read the articles properly. If you think the wiki is bad, then you're free to help improve it.

Sure, needing to read every single word on the page is good. Having it be completely random where the information you may need is located.

Yeah I think the pages are a scrambled mess and the actual useful information is too spread about. If I changed it it would probably get reverted back by some of the mafia members. Are you one?

  • @CarlosRod said:

Hatches are a poor mechanic, keys even worse.

Nothing makes me more frustrated than a survivor who only plays for the hatch

I agree they're trash. It feels so cheap and unfair when you're the killer and lose multiple survivors over this. Same when you're the survivor who gets left out of the key use.

I run a Freddy for 90 seconds and my payment is 2 healthy survivors just jump right in and make no attempt to involve me in it. When you die and have 1k more than people who ESCAPED through the hatch....

  • @Science_Guy said:

It will eventually close on its own, 30 seconds after being opened, if more than one survivor still hasn't escaped.

The Hatch page on the wikia does describe this, btw.

ah, I was looking at the CLOSING part of the wiki and didn't see that.

  • I wish someone would launch an operation "make the wiki good". There are so many small details it doesn't seem to have on it.

I just got annoyed with 2 people for bailing on me in a huge chase and there excuse is the hatch closes after awhile so I wanted to know if true.

  • No she hasn't. She has absolutely no terror radius until pratically right on top of you.

  • @ToxicMyers said:

That's pre buff myers, he got side graded to have no terror radius but is supsectable to detection perks

But didn't the info section in the game used to say 0? Or am I mistaken.

If I remember right, the hook de spawn mechanic was added to fix a very old issue in the game(I want to say it had to do with old old sabotage) but the fix is now very outdated and now causes this issue. Unless they have some other idea in the works to resolve this issue, I would agree that hooks shouldn't despawn anymore.

Yeah I always thought it was stupid. It doesn't make any sense why its needed. Other than to create this problem in the first place so of course some survivors won't want it changed.

  • @TheClownIsKing said:

You don’t even need to lose hooks. Some maps just start with deadzones. Down your first survivor near one of the exit gates on Gideon? Well there’s a very high chance there’s no hook you can carry them to.

Not to mention not even having the choice to create them or not if AWARE you are about to.

The one that made me make this was on a map where there was only one possible hook I could make in an entire area. When that person died there was no longer a hook in the area I could possibly make.

I think its from crappy RNG that takes the basement into consideration but then at the same time doesn't consider HOW you would get into that basement. Meaning if I could walk in a perfect straight line to the basement I could make the hook at like 98% wiggle. But in reality I will have to make multiple turns making getting there or anywhere for that matter impossible.

  • Or better yet the hooks SHOULDNT vanish after death because there is no reason that they should.

You also shouldn't have to use a certain perk or have it be IMPOSSIBLE to make a hook depending on where the survivors go down.

  • Decisive Strike 60 seconds that allows killer to pursue another chase get another hook and STILL get penalized. Thats cool.

POP. 60 seconds allows the killer to pursue other activities and or even make a far gen. BHVR- We aint having that!

  • @xI_Fabi_Ix said:

The devs stated that it would require an extra update to download for the game, just so killers can be changed during queues.

If you ask me - just dodge the lobby if you don't want to play it. Queues are fast for both sides since crossplay is in teh Game.

Oh, and you can also trash the current daily if you hate it. I don't want a hag daily either.

I always reroll to get a worse Daily. I'm on console and think crossplay is BS. Potentially pair me with a teammate playing on switch against a guy who might be on a super computer. No filtering options=lame as hell.

If MMR is on to some extent it works worse now than it did when it was fully on. Literally anytime I want to play a killer I have very little experience or success with. I will get a lobby that looks so sweaty. Expensive cosmetics, DBD related names, key, toolbox, full prestige. Yeah not doing that.

Oh but if I play Ghost Face or Doctor. You bet its gonna be a meg who sprint bursts into walls etc.

  • Mine is worse after the patch. Im having killers show up in TWO SECONDS after their TR goes live. I am also hearing nothing at all while on the hook.

  • I only made this topic because when you Self-Care with Botany Knowledge you get the different color bar.

When testing this earlier I still had the normal color bar and it sure didn't seem like I had any speed boosts what so ever.

If this DID stack it would be crazy fast healing in certain situations so maybe that is their reasoning?

Botany 33% of base healing plus up to 56%. You could self care at 89% of the base speed. If you are using medkits you could do it EVEN FASTER.

Yeah because 16 meter radius and 6 seconds time wasn't ######### broken lmfao

He's a solid killer, that addon just was op

and how obvious was it that he is using this add on once he seems to know where you are for no reason?

It's still ridiculously easy to keep him unable to hit you during dash.

  • I think the fact WE dont control our own challenges is so stupid. So now I am forced to play super altruistic and hope I don't get paired with morons who screw out emblems up.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I'm having the same issue, it's almost worse

Its absolutely worse. I had a Doctor use SB sound like he was max distance away. I didn't get lit up because I went into a locker. He came right to the locker as ifi he was close enough to hear me go in silently. He had to be like right next to me when he used it.

the difference being survivors can still die even if theyre not hooked. the game cannot progress without generator completion.

i agree it needs a fix ASAP tho.

Dude there is no debate to be had here about anything. The fix still screw you if you had to walk far to a hook. So that must be why these scumbags also uses the hook offerings hmmm.

Both are trash and need immediate fixes.

Also good luck beating a competent team by trying to make them bleed out.

  • @Xbob42 said:

I imagine this'll be fixed pretty quickly. Although if there was a bug where generators couldn't be finished at 99%, it would've been fixed yesterday.

The fact people are trying to blind during this is the epitome of scummy. Oh and of course they pratically @ the devs with footage of them doing it and won't get in trouble. They're probably trembling from my "usin exploit" report.

  • I asked this hours ago and so far no one has said anything. The last time this happened it got corrected in MINUTES. Never had it happen like this before.

  • Any devs or mods said anything on the subject?

  • Yeah this is a shame. I am only seeing an increase in performance as Blight.

So weird! I'm genuinely confused right now. It ran like this before https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pU0TJ_8PIDo (Put it on 60FPS)

Very smooth right? But now i'm at 30FPS and I can barely land skill checks. Confusing.

Tell me exactly what you play so I can copy it and see how I notice it.

2 matches as Blight I had BEAUTIFUL framerate. Then I played as Doctor and it sucked. I'm guessing survivor? I will try one now.

  • @NotQueen Please turn them on. I think this happened once before and you posted and they were turned on in seconds or somethingcrazy like that.

  • @TrueVengeance said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1605948#Comment_1605948

Okay wow. I'm playing right now on one x since the Update dropped and the console ja quite AS fk. I know when the console ramps Up.. modern warfare.. Lobby.. but its smooth for me. No single drop. And it feels smoother than before. So i dont know what it is on your site :/

Are you playing the Blight? It felt very smoothe as him for 2 matches.

I switched to Doctor to test it and not nearly as smoothe.

  • @Jaxton2000 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1606059#Comment_1606059

Yeah no, Xbox one x always ran at 60 Fps for me at 1080p. It was always pretty smooth and I experienced only a few fps drops on certain maps. I play only as survivor... not sure that has anything to do with it. The framerate is now for sure lower for me. It being at 30FPS makes it pretty much unplayable. Skill checks are not easy at all at the framerate it's at now.

I don't get how this can happen. How did you know for sure it was 60 fps? Mine was TRASH before and nowehre near 60. If I played Demo or Pyramid head it was like 20fps. Now with this update its so nice and smoothe ######### how does this happen opposite things both on the X.

  • Does PC or PS4 have them?

  • @Jaxton2000 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1606004#Comment_1606004

Yeah idk, I always had 60 before this update and the main reason I know that is because it feels choppier and I literally cannot land my skill checks. I will say it seems the resolution is overall higher too with this graphic update.

On the Xbox One X? I don't think that was possible before. My frames were awful and after this patch it feels really smoothe as killer?

  • @Jaxton2000 said:

Personally not sure how people are saying it's running smooth. I'm on a one x and the frames went from 60(Before the update) to 30. Now my console is also running fans really loudly which in my almost 2 years of owning it, it has never ever done and it surprised me when I heard them kick on so loudly. Not sure where this smoothness is that people are talking about but i'm kind of not sure about even playing it right now with the worry of it possibly overheating my console.

Im confused. I have the X too and frames where trash and ALWAYS have been trash. I dare say they looked BETTER with this update. My attack look so much smoother.

Where did I say I stream sniped anybody? The killer had their twitch as their username and I watched the match later that night. 🤦🏻‍♀️

You didn't need to say it.

  • @ScienceGirl said:

I made a rank 1 PC Nurse DC today because he couldn’t down me during a chase. I’m playing on PS4. Not all of us are incapable of playing with PC players lol.

The Nurse who was streaming was also accusing me of cheating as obviously that was the only reason he got outplayed.

I was also with a Legacy Dwight today and was expecting him to really outplay me, but he got hooked twice and I escaped all 3 of the chases I got into. He also escaped the match with 15k and I had 28k. Console definitely has issues with optimisation but it doesn’t make me unable to play and play well.

So you stream sniped a baby Nurse and that proves something? Lol okay.

How would you even feel comfortable typing that out. If a rank 1 Nurse CANT get you. There is something suspect.

The advantage is small for survivor, though. From what I can tell the performance is only really an issue if you're playing killer, unless you're facing Doctor with blight cosmetics or something. Survivors have the advantage of more precise movement (left stick) but have the disadvantage of less precise camera placement (right stick), so the controls advantage should mostly come out in the wash for survivor.

The other thing to note is that any potential disadvantage for console players would be resolved by a decent matchmaking system, which the game does not have, and which is a much bigger issue for both PC and console right now.

I really don't get where this "controller is actually an advantage for survivor" nonsnese came from. In no way is the joystick an advantage when its still controlled by ONE thumb as opposed to multiple fingers on a keyboard. Probably just PC players filling the air with it so try to hide the advantage they hold.

You can see this clear as day that PC survivors have better movement than console players do.

I've been playing on xbox since 2017 and if I play halfways serious I am a rank 1 killer. When get 4 rank 1 PC players its like I am playing the game pro or something. Console is the minor leagues and PC is the major leagues. They are SO MUCH better.

  • @Dr_Spek said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1601540#Comment_1601540

Performance maybe but controls? there is a difference sure but you have access to everything control wise same as us just because you have a controller does not mean you cant do the same things as us you can do gens, vault windows, drop pallets same as us.

I have been playing console for years and of course all the streamers are PC players. I have always noticed how much better and SMOOTH the movement can be on PC. Survivors hug the loops MUCH more efficient and the same with killers. PC Killers can fake a direction with such swiftness it nearly looks like a single action. This of course has come into play when going against PC survivors as a console killer now. The PC players are on a different level with the way they move its so much more efficient they fake vaults so much better etc.

This is due to the fact a PC player is using more of their physical ability to manipulate the controls .Its simple really. A PC player is using their entire right hand to focus their camera movement and a console player is using just their thumb. A PC player is using however many fingers to control everything else but again the console person is using their OTHER thumb. 2 thumbs Versus a hand and several fingers.

  • @Dr_Spek said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1601461#Comment_1601461

I do wish other crossplayers could talk to us but other then that you can play against PC players and win I've seen it happen just because we are on another platform does not mean you can no longer win we are hard to play against yes but just giving up does not help any one. If cross play was really that bad then you would have your player base back but it seems most console players enjoy it or we would not see so many.

You have a permanent advantage in performance and controls. That alone is unfair and it can never be fixed. EVER.

I bought a console game. I don't want to have to learn to play with mouse and keyboard even if we get support for it later.

  • @Dr_Spek said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1601410#Comment_1601410

Then why have crossplay on? And don't say "because we get lobby's faster" because if so then I expect that you would stay for the entire game not for the first 5 mins till you get downed.

Because we want to play with PS4 and Switch not PC. Oh and the loss of our OWN playerbase when crossplay is turned off is sure nice.

Crossplay is a joke. It benefits nobody but PC users really. Anybody playing solo survivor just gets screwed over harder than before.

BHVR forced us to play with PC or have even longer wait times tf knda BS is that? Then we can't even participate in the end game chats.

  • Console optimization is never really going to happen.

  • No console players want to play PC killers outside of delusional ones and people who only play the game in SWF. Hopefully it goes on and on until something is done.

  • The consoles easily have an advantage over you. THe PC is where its total BS though. All of the consoles should be able to choose if they want to get paired with PC players.

I mean I've seen some console people disagree with you too

You mean to tell me out of tens of thousands of people some of them will have horrible views? Whoa. If I make a poll right now about who the best killer in the game is within an a day nearly all killers will be selected. Pretty obvious the Clown isn't the best killer in the game but SOMEONE out there will think so.

A PC player wants their advantage to stay and obviously doesn't want a console player to have the ability to avoid them. For a console player to NOT want the ability to filter out PC if they want? As in the ability to keep it EXACTLY like it is now if they want. If they have a problem with that. They're just stupid and that's just being real.

More options=bad thing? In what reality?

  • @RossSama said:

I'm gonna sound extremely biased here as a rank 1 pc survivor and killer, but here's my take:

The hardest games I've had as a survivor lately were when I was matched with three console players against a PC killer.

Similarly, the easiest games I've had as a killer lately were when I was matched against four console players.

There's definitely a divide in the communities that's easy to notice, at least at rank 1. I think it's because PC players have big hardware + control advantages but we have also already adapted to playing against PC killers as survivor. I think they just need more time to adapt although I know you can't just "overcome" lagging all the time, having poor FPS, latency issues, etc.

I can't speak for playing killer on console but the console killers seem to have an overall more difficult time cutting corners efficiently and aiming ranged abilities like plague spit, huntress hatchet, deathslinger gun, etc. That being said, I played against a really good rank 1 console myers a couple days ago so I know there are insane killers on console, it just seems more rare.

As for survivor, the biggest thing I notice is chase times. Console survivors seem to be extremely competent for the most part at healing, doing gens, unhooking, etc. The part where they lack is looping for extended chases, they usually go down pretty fast.

This is all just in my experience. Take it (or don't) for what you will.

edit: TL:DR: PC players seem to be a little bit better but there are a lot of factors and exceptions at play.

THANK YOU. Finally a PC player who is willing to be honest about this and not try to deny something that is so blatantly obvious. I mean its the DBD community so I was expecting this to an extent. But the fact PC players are trying to act like there isn't even an advantage is just insane to me. With nearly all of them except for you willing to be honest about it.

I agree with everything you said except one thing. The part about getting used to play PC players. I think in terms of players who are competing and have a desire to well. The PC player will always hold the advantage in this area because they again have better controls and a better setup in...every...single...way possible.

Your post is real as it gets. Console players aren't nearly as good at looping because how much more swift movement can be on a mouse compared to a controller. Its much easier to adjust running against a barrier using a mouse controlled by your entire hand then a single joystick controlled by a thumb.

Hmmm trying to get the devs attention by setting the title of this to something completely irrelevant to what you're talking about, great way for the devs to see it.

Even if they somehow managed to view this most of the people on this post disagree with your points or don't agree with the way they were stated. So I'm sorry Mr. Keyboard Warrior ( or should I say phone since you are complaining about pc players) but I don't see the devs listening to you.

I never said I was going out of my way to gain their attention. More people talking about it the more light gets shed on it so....thank you?

Oh and you mean to tell me the DBD community one of the most toxic playerbases in any game. On a website where likely 75% of the people posting are ON PC disagree with me wanting something that will no longer give them a benefit? Ya don't say.....

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1576135#Comment_1576135

Aww honey. You cant see how a mouse is LESS of an advantage in a game like this than in an fps?

My point is that it's not an oberwhelming advantage on actual precision games, so it's definitely not here. If controllers can beat kbm in those games, they can do it here.

Aka it wouldnt and isnt an advantage. Especially since this game is also NOT competetive.

But I guess context and comprehension are beyond you when you just want to rant and argue.

Thats cute. You "awww" me and then essentially describe that it IS an advantage. While somehow having a point against me?

"My point is that it's not an OBERwhelming advantage on actual precision games, so definitely not here" So you're admitting its an advantage....lmao.

More awww moment. You bring up context and comprehension when your OWN post says its "not an overwhelming advantage". You realize that would mean its still an advantage right? Which makes this more hilarious. There are actually people goofy enough to make the claim that MKB has no advantage over a controller when its blatantly a more precise control option that uses much more of a persons ability to manipulate a physical object. Probably can't follow.

Precision? Well that's just where you're objectively wrong. Do better players not run loops more PRECISE than lesser players? Would being able to swiftly control movement with multiple fingers on your left hand and your ENTIRE RIGHT HAND not help in that processs?

Weird how come most of you PC guys don't switch to controllers if its apparently NO DIFFERENT? It would be easier to use and you could sit more comfortable. I guess its controller for the win.

Its funny I've already obliterated anyone trying to argue that MKB isn't an advantage and all anyone has to the contrary is. "No its not"

Wow didn't know that learn five buttons on a mouse and keyboard, you don't have to "relearn the entire game" and that doesn't benefit pc players in the slightest, if anything keyboard and mouse support would be great for console because the amount of control you have over your movements compared to controller. My console friends would agree with me.

As for the visuals, don't play on crossplay if you feel someone having slightly better looking grass than you ruins the gameplay. Im sorry you'll have to sacrifice playing with your friends that have different consoles but the devs have never said anything about adding the ability to choose which platforms to play with (which again, would kill pc matchmaking even more) so I don't think it's ever going to happen

I can't mess with people who have terrible reading comprehension and overall are just goofy.

Where else would be a better way to get the devs attention than people making multiple posts on a forum? Should I personally stalk them? lmao you're acting like posting on THEIR WEBSITE is the least likely way to get their attention or something.

Oh wait, you're friends would agree with you? whoa.

I mean, what do you want? The Challenges from the first Archives were too hard, players complained. Now the Challenges are too easy and somewhat boring.

Like, its always the same in this Forum - Complaints about this and that, but once a new Rift or new Tome Level is released, the Archives are the topic.

(EDIT: I mean, surely you can do the Killer One in one single game... If you want to throw that game)

Exactly what we said we wanted in the thread....

Are you suggesting those initial challenges are more equal than I implied? Yeah you could throw the game. Or finish it naturally in 2-3 games without any extra effort. Or even not throw the game and get it done in 1-2 depending on the type of matches like I did. I had a 4k with 9-10 kicked gens in my first match and easily knocked it off in the 2nd.

The survivor one its highly unlikely you're going to achieve 4 gens per game for 3 games. Yet that is the quickest possible way to achieve it.

7 of 8 master challenges would require you to essentially try NOT to achieve them assuming you have the right perks/character. The only one even slightly difficult is Back Off and that is the SECOND challenge available. The whole thing is setup goofy.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

You have 3 Weeks until Level 4 of the Tome arrives. And still 40 days for the Rift. Its fine that there are Challenges which take a few games.

Also I don't like challenges with dumb requirements like: Hook 12 different survivors. What I hate is the obligation to play 3 matches to complete one easy challenge, it just doesn't makes any sense. I'm all with you.

THOSE challenges are the main reason I said this They're just dumb. There not "challenges" at all because you would NEED to go OUT OF YOUR WAY to not complete them. It would be physically impossible not to finish those challenges by playing.

Like how bad would a game need to be where you didn't even chase all 4 survivors?

Getting BP for challenges isn't so bad because that at least makes sense a a challenge instead of something that is bascially guaranteed to happen by playing naturally.

1 … 11 12 13 14 15 … 27
