  • i dont think it should be removed but diffidently massively increased so he can hit survivors directly to his side or maybe even a little further. the speed at which he turns during the lunge also needs to be increased.

  • yea the camera being so low with a fatigue effect after a disorienting stun is a little much. I have lost track of a few survivors because of it.

  • i also play on console and unless you use the addon compound seven he is actually harder than nurse when trying to use his power for a hit otherwise he is just a m1 killer who is good at catching up.

  • He can traverse the map and you can't just run him around as easily by waiting until the last second to start looping from just running straight.

thats it and if he had a better lethal lunge i would say he could do that well but he doesn't because the devs are too scared to make him be able to reliably do the thing he was designed to do.

  • this is so f'ing true

hopefully we get a turning buff when lunging in the upcoming hotfix

  • just cleanse all totems you see. can't transfer a hex to a dull totem if there are no dull totems

btw can someone answer this question, what happens if someone cleanses a haunted grounds but there are no dull totems for it to transfer to. do you keep one H totem or does the remaining H totem turn into a dull totem.

  • i played about 15 matches as him and i 100% agree with this, survivors have literally just taken a hard right or left after i start a lethal rush and you can't hit them due to the heavily restricted degree you can turn. I caught the survivor in the open, got to them in less than 3 seconds but a simple 90* turn outplays me #########.

you literally have to predict which direction a survivor will turn to get someone in the open with a lethal rush doing this and they can even react to it if they keep an eye on you. this needs to be addressed.

  • I have played about 15 games as him and he is well bad. I thought that if you were good you can get survivors in the open but because of his limited turning during the lunge you can actually just do a hard left or right and he can't hit you. a lot of my rushes against survivors who do this dont even hit i just get the follow up hit. this isn't just me sucking at him he can be reliably juked and the only real counter is if you predict it but that requires you to not go directly at the survivor so if they see that they just juke the other way.

He needs his turning during a lunge improved, too many times have i gotten a really good prediction and i couldn't capitalize on it since they just turned to the left or right. however thats the only issue i have with him besides not being able to preform interactions.

  • i didn't know you could see me through the screen, do you like English black tea?

with or without sugar? what about milk?

i'm being 100% serious i literally had tea last match as survivor.

  • @Moundshroud said:

Agreed. He just has a steep learning curve because of his unique movement. He isn't weak, he just requires some effort. In two days everyone is going to say he is OP. Like Nurse, you have a narrow margin of error but when he is done right, he is very hard to counter.

its like playing nurse or hag and saying their weak without trying to understand when its appropriate to use their power. i saw blights spamming their power at J gyms and then one messaged me saying that this killer is trash when it was clear as day he played horribly by not using his power at the appropriate times and just sucking at landing the lethal rush hits.

  • dude wait a week you cant judge a killer in what the 3 matches you might have played him. let people get good at him and then we will see how he does because i have already seen some really checky hits and a lot of misses are from mistakes on the killers part. yes he suffers in loops but he isn't meant for that hes not demo, he is good at catching up to survivors and quick hits with his power by smashing into a wall and going into lethal rush for a hit in quick secession.

Pretty sure they didn't change to lunge itself though, which is what OP is pointing out. This makes it so that you can actually dodge the attack. I haven't had the chance to play against him yet so I'm not sure how easy it actually is to dodge the attack. Soo... I don't know if this is such a big deal or not.

in the open a good blight wont be jukeable however you might be able to use corners and angles to prevent hits like with Oni

Yes I have, but it still appears to be incredibly limited in how far around you can turn, not how fast you lunge

you haven't even played him yet...

I also hope thats the case.Legion or demo dont have any"broken" addons, and Huntress and Myers are the only killers who dont have classic addon numbers(Myers just had one more uncommon and one less common).Demo has like 3 addons that are great and others are trashhhhh.........

I didn't notice that about myers, they will both probably be reworked at the same time then like they did with the chainsaw brothers

  • they did change it and even increased its speed, did you even read the patch notes? he is still locked at a turn rate but the speed and turning during rush was buffed so that indirectly buffs his attack turn rate.

  • hopefully its done in the future after they address huntress which is the last addon outdated killer. however i suspect that keys and mori's will come before specific killers get looked over for minimal changes or large ones.

You mean fixing it as was originally designed so it has somewhat of a counter?

its still a good perk, just has less synergy with pgtw now

  • @Deadeye said:

I think they always list in the patch notes what they changed from PTB to live

no they don't go look at the patch note history, values are usually not specific, things get left out, and in general its vague and mainly focuses on what they fixed and not what they changed. edit: im not talking about mid chapter patches but killers releasing after the ptb.

take the silent hill patch notes 4.0.0 they list a TON of bug fixes but thats kinda it, the perk values where changed but anything addon related is left out and most of the changes are just blood point modifiers.

my point is these patch notes are the best they have released in regard to the changes the killer went through in the ptb and they provide actual numbers for all the changes.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I do agree on Blood Favor. Pretty pointless against high level survivors. But quite a few players take a hit and stay at the same loop for some reason, so there will be value in average solo queue games.

On another post someone suggested blocking the pallet until the hex is destroyed but i think if it reset after each hit for the pallets that it blocks but blocked those pallets until it resets, remove its cool down or at least shorten it, and reveal the aura of the blocked pallets to survivors nearby this perk could be strong but fair.

  • @redsopine00 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/189389/hex-blood-favor-buff

To op think about it you could lock Evey single pallet and the perk can stay up ages as well as showing survivors on it thanks to undying this would legit make games unplayable as there would be no escape counterplays

how about it resets after each hit, to balance this there is no cool down but survivors see the blocked pallet if they are within 16 meters of it.

  • I'm also not sure this should be base, on demo it makes sense. demo needs to charge his power and if it didn't break pallets it would be too punishing to use if you didn't get the hit.

on the blight his power is not only faster but can be used for traversal and catching up to survivors that might even result in a hit. I dont think this needs to be base kit tbh but we will see how well he does.

demo is great for putting pressure on pallets since you either get hit or use the pallet and he is back on you in a few seconds, if blight is like this why play demo when another killer does the same thing and has a better recovery.

  • use it after you use a pallet the killer will have to waste time going around or break like at jungle gyms and either just run straight or loop another loop, this will make it so 8 seconds will pass against most killers.

edit: O you meant the one that gives you endurance, i use it if i get myself into a dead zone or if i wont make it to a pallet i just pop it early so I will make it to a pallet even if i get hit.

You can fake and mindgame thrill of the hunt, because they only get an alert, they never know whether you're on it or you touched it. With undying you see them the entire time they're near it, so you can see if they tapped it then left. The only counterplay to Undying is being SWF so you can have 2 people on 2 totems. It's completely anti-solo survivor, and hugely buffs noed because now nobody will touch a dull totem again.

I mean unless that killer is a stealth killer you can just run off it and if you find out its undying after getting a hex then you just cleanse dull totems as well. if a killer is willing to sacrifice over half of his perks for a totem build then he has to protect those totems or he loses out on pressure but protecting totems is a double edge sword, if he tries to hard to protect totems to much gens fly, if he fails to then he loses perks, and any smart survivor will notice undying and cleanse the dull totems so noed doesn't activate which btw there will probably only be 1 or 2 dull totems for noed to affect after you find out undying is being used.

edit: if anything the counter to this perk is the same as noed just cleanse all totems in other words do bones.

  • 8 I love the way his power looks and i liked the game play i saw when he wasn't bumping into objects he shouldn't. he looks really good for traversal and catching up to survivors if they gain distance on him. I think really good blights will be able to hit any survivor caught out so he will be like oni but without the insta down but faster activation and his power will always be prevalent throughout the match.

  • I've only got stuck once and after that i remembered the exact spot it was at and never got stuck again.

a survivor also tried to get me stuck and i went around it, they tried 3 times to get me stuck by looping around the hill so i downed them, got them to the point where they could wiggle off me, and got them stuck in the spot. was it the right thing to do? probably not but if your trying to get me stuck why cant i do the same to you?

  • so you want tier 3 as well as tier 1 buffed with the nerfs being negligible, dont get me wrong im all for buffing lower tiered killers but dont you think 30 more seconds which i believe is 50% more than previously on top of faster pallet breaks is a little too much.

i like the faster pallet break but not anything else really.

edit: addons do need changes tho

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/188952/how-can-some-people-call-this-game-killer-sided

All in all íts your opinion and I disagree a bit with what you say.

    Perks:

Who cares if they are DLC or not? Get them from the shrine or buy the DLC.

    Items:

There are tons off extremly powerful addons for killer and not just Iri head. Iri head is extremly broken and by far stronger then any addon for an item survivors have tho.

Survivor have Spytic Agent, key and well.. thats about it... i dont know why you even mention Commodius toolbox, Toolboxes are useless now.

Then you say killer only have Ebony or Ivory mori... you know, offerings which are more powerrful then all the items and addons survivors have.

    Maps and Tile Spawns:

Alone that you generally put autohaven as survivor sided gives me a good insight how much you care to look at both sides equaly. It is true that indoor maps are usually more killer sided, but those are definitly not the only ones. Just look at Saloon, Sanctum of Wrath, Shelter Woods, Chapel, Azarovs etc all killer sided without a doubt.

And about tile spawns.... lol icould also say deadzone after deadzone after deadzone... what you are talking about is rare. Safe loops into safe loops are really not that common anymore.

Ormond is true tho i give you that, they should remove a few pallets.

    Bugs: For both sides...

You will make a follow up on the history of things being nerfed? Great, this might open your eyes a bit ;)

yea addons for specific killers should not be considered especially when they are outdated and may not be used because well you know not everyone plays that killer. As for how strong those addons are the only one i can think of that is strong enough to completely make the match killer sided is IR hatchets which are outdated and will be changed after huntresses rework which is coming. no other addon can actually turn a match around against a meta swf.

Also keys are actually stronger than mori's a killer that is tunneling with a mori will get two kills if the survivors are smart and have a key since they will do the 3 gens required and then use the key to escape. if one of them gets found doesn't matter the last gets out with the key. this is especially likely if they knock out two gens at once in the beginning of a game which is common even among solo players.

for maps id say most are actually survivor sided and even the killer sided maps can be dealt with if you spread the gens properly. as for the game that map is actually survivor sided due to all the safe loops, if i remember correctly their are actually 5 or 6 god pallets on that one map. as for dead zones you can still loop regularly and if your team spreads the gens you win due to the distance as maps that have a lot of dead zones are generally really big.

edit: if your referring to the old op vaults, pallet vacuums, DS, BT, insta heals, flashlights, and whatever other small broken stuff i missed than your totally right those nerfs were not needed and the game was more balanced back then.

viable killers are normally Spirit, Nurse, PH, Freddy, Doctor, Oni, Huntress and Hillbilly but yeah the current meta for killers in red ranks and top plays are gen slowdown perks even then its not enough

Even the meta killers can't beat a very good swf doing and using everything to win. the only one who has a chance is nurse and maybe spirit everyone else can be looped or have enough time wasted in a chase that they end up losing to gen rushing. but then we get nerf this killer and that one because i can't last more than 40 seconds in a chase which tbh is how it should be, you should rarely if at all win a 1v1 against the killer because that much time wasted with no benefit spells game over for the killer.

  • I have gotten a few invitations to torments and always decline

whoever thinks this game is suited for competitive play obviously doesn't understand how unbalanced the game is in its current state. The only reason you don't notice it often is because it's uncommon to see survivors playing the game to their best using the best perks and play style. It's to the point where you have to completely rely on the survivors messing up to win/ get more than 1 or 2 kills.

is this game fun and playable against mediocre survivors who are not taking the game as seriously as a E Sports event, absolutely in fact its the only reason being killer is bearable in high ranks. Does this mean dbd is in a good balance state hell no, the devs can add new mechanics such as something to slow the beginning of a game that is NOT a perk and the game would immediately become more balanced for high level play. However they take forever to do anything that big so i doubt this game will be balanced in this year or the next.

Give me a reason why a skilled survivor shouldn't have a chance to win the 1v1.

because this game is balanced around the fact that the killer will eventually get you, thats why you can get hooked 3 times.

if a survivor always had a reliable chance to win a 1v1 in high level play this game would go to hell, sure a survivor can waste a ton of pallets and such but they should be catch-able otherwise how is the killer supposed to win.

edit: actually if your playing a bad killer like trapper against a good swf your more than likely going to lose unless something lucky happens so for some killers its already hell at high level play.

  • stop a loop early and position yourself in a spot where you can barely drop the pallet but also dodge the range attack by going to the pallet or its side. now do the following:

If PH goes into rites than wait at the pallet. If he tries to hit you with range dodge it, if he goes into stun range stun him since he can't move backwards in rites. if you dodge the range attack you can run another loop or go to a different one.

If PH fakes going into rites or exits it just drop the pallet, watch his hands and unless the connection screws you will stun him or at least get the pallet between you.

of course there will be spots in loops you can get hit on but that will happen with an ability that goes through walls and some loops wont have pallets with enough space to do this on one or both sides(usually only one). However this strat works pretty well at wasting time.

  • @LastShoe said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1595408#Comment_1595408

There is a trick that allows you to instantly m1 while going out of m2.

there is? i have never noticed it. either way you can still react to that if you watch his hands which is what i do.

  • people are too greedy against him, from my experience stopping a loop early and staying to the side of the pallet while in range and just reacting is the best you can do. if he enters rites wait at the pallet and try to dodge it or if he gets into stun range stun him since he can't move backwards and if he exits rites just throw the pallet since he can't attack you for around half a second. of course you have to be looping the correct way as not all pallets have both sides where you can be standing in a spot suitable to dodge his ranged attack and there will be cases where you can't dodge as you loop in a certain spot but I've had a lot of success with this.

  • there will probably not be a dbd 2 and unless these things are obvious it will either feel bs or it will be too easy to avoid.

  • next is almost diffidently huntress, she's the last killer that does not meet addon standards

  • I see some people saying that he is weak but i fail to see how, there was a streamer doing amazing with him and im not talking about brain dead hits in the open this guy was using his power through tight areas such as the shrine maps center piece and other tiles and getting a lot of hits. A dev even said he was unplayable compared to his updated version yet when you got his power to work the way you wanted it was very good.

His power prevents you from just running until the killers almost on you and then looping because he can gain a large amount of ground for a hit and if you activate your power and instantly slam into a tree say to your right in less than 2 seconds you can already be on the survivor and hit them. someone said you can just run into him as he slams but even with the stun you have to rely on there being a pallet or vault nearby so your probably getting hit and i'm sure when people get good at him that wont even work.

yes he can be looped but he can't be out ran, your not going to stun him and get to that pallet 24+ meters away when your in the open in most maps especially if he runs enduring. even at its worst the power is still a good traversal tool which makes him better than a normal m1 killer like trapper and clown who lack any map pressure.

tldr: he can be looped but not ran (holding w) in most maps, power can be used for traversal and very quick hits if you slam into a object next to you than go into lethal rush, and his power was good when you didn't slam your head repeatedly into an object which has diffidently been addressed in some way so how do you think he is now.

  • most of the time when a survivor team dies fast is from dumb plays by that team. even if the killer does his best to pressure gens you will still get gen rushed against good survivors. your point is invalid as survivors have control in both cases.

  • you were expecting them to buff it to be a better demo shred that doesn't break things? of course that ability wont let you hit a survivor right away it has an INSTANT activation.

the ability is strong he was just a mess in the ptb, im pretty sure we are not going to be ramming are heads into the same object over and over again and im sure they messed with the lunge and stun aspect.

remember what a dev said "he is unplayable compared to his updated version" that should tell you something.

  • @Dwinchester said:

Survivors want you to loop, get two hooks, and then escort you to exit gate, where they teabag until the egc timer is almost out, then leave.

That or they expect you to two hook everyone, play fair, using no second chance perks. While they use swf, and every second chance perk in the game.

Fact is, you have to play dirty and use killers with no counter play if you want to stand a chance of winning.

i actually play like this but i have no problem slugging or camping after gates get powered, still get salt messages even tho I played "fair" but some survivors just cant stand dying.

edit: in terms of play style i can 4k against most groups except sweat groups

  • i love this game there is no other game that makes you feel like a power house in the way dbd does it without it feeling boring. even as survivor the game can scare you sometimes but because its more about the atmosphere and it feels competitive its very playable.

BUT SCREW THE BALANCE OF THIS GAME. I love this game, i also hate it at times. mainly when you go against a swf, gen rushing, meta perk sweat group who are actually good at the game. not even spirit can reliably beat that however those are so rare it makes the game enjoyable enough to keep playing. there is also a lot of bs a killer can do but besides camping and tunneling it has never felt as frustrating as when i play killer and go against the survivors bs.

  • soooooo camping and you want saves to be safer?

  • huntress is next, only killer with an outdated addon kit

How can you follow up a failled Shred with a hit when there's a cooldown for a failled shred?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1586444#Comment_1586444

Gen speed is an issue if survivor don't run around for nothing. And even if you don't tunnel a 4swf full meta perk are gonna abuse them. Hooked them in the last minute? They're gonna run a gen in your face. 2 guys on hook and one will trade: he unhook, give BT and that guy will save the other one on the hook and give him bt and both have DS. You just lost all pressure because of second chance perk, nice. That or you're around a hooked person because you know more survivor are in the area. You don't want to tunnel but the guy who get unhook have BT so he'll run in your face. You down him? nah he have DS etc. Even solo will abuse second chance perk.

I don't tunnel and only stay near hook when other survivor are around when I just hooked the guy. What am I suppose to do? Leave 2 guys alone?

at shack and long loops, some medium ones or an early shred to a pallet if you have shred recovery addons. most of the time you will have to follow up with another shred and I mainly use it at shack to the window from outside if im at the max shred range since at that range shred wont land if you use it on reaction to the vault. Survivors either have to use the pallet or go the long way optimal for using the window but demo can use shred on reaction from the doorway to land that hit.

play a lot of hag and you will notice it after tp'ing. maybe you have an amazing console or something whatever it is im jealous since fps has caused me to miss a few hits after tp'ing but not often enough where its a big problem.

I mean you do you bruh. They will guaranteed never do anything about it if the sales just continue to climb.

So dont help in the pointless strike and when the game really does become unplayable and dbd looses alot of its player base then it'll just be PC players who suffer from longer cue times.

my point was the strike itself is pointless especially if its over FPS and not game balance. How many people do you think will not buy anything just because of fps being a little bad? as i said in my second post it only gets unplayable with certain killers and it will happen maybe once or twice and thats usually with hag more than the others. No one is going to strike over this and if they do the number will be so small it wont affect the game.

  • @tippy2k2 said:

How do so many console players have all these issues? We're all running the same hardware (I assume at least...) and I've never had these huge frame drops that everyone always complains about on my Xbox...

I can count on one hand the amount of times the game pooped the bed on me and became virtually unplayable (so I guess I can't say I've NEVER had frame rate become an issue but that was clear from the very beginning of the match that something was wrong with the game).

I honestly don't know if I'm in the minority here and my Xbox is just a champ, if I'm the majority but we have nothing to complain about so you don't hear from us, or what...

from my experience its only when playing killer and its the most noticeable when playing that role since its in first person. play hag, plague, doc, or freddy and you will notice it however it only is problematic like once every few matches where it gets so bad frames drop to 10 or 20 for second or two.

  • i'll buy what i want and its not like a lot of players will not buy dlc or whatever from any amount of posts asking on these or any forums. while i hope fps does improve im not going to do a pointless strike that few will participate in which delays me from getting content in my frustratingly favorite game.

  • shred is good if you know WHEN to use it/fake it

a demo that misses shreds and doesn't follow up on it, demo's who dont use shred enough, and demo's who are not patient with shred and end up missing are not playing demo good enough for him to reliably use shred in a chase.

its simple, if you can use shred and land it almost every chase and even when you miss you can follow it up with a hit most of the time your good with demo.
