Firstly, they need to solve a common reason behind why it happens.

    Not. Enough. Servers.

Middle East has high ping, entire African continent has bad ping, servers in the US are overfilled, ect. ect.

This needs to be resolved first, and would help a lot. Then, we can start creating ping limits.

Is it even worth the cost to set those up? You can argue the Middle-East if the playerbase is big enough. But Africa is full of unstable, failed states and I can't imagine the infrastructure and playbase can justify it.

  • Shall we auto place demo protals around gens too?

    Then block your top two.
You don’t need to eliminate every killer you dislike , then you need to eliminate the ones that make you alt+F4 on sight.

This isn’t about filtering the whole roster.
It’s about triage. Sanity management. Two red flags, not twenty.

And if you’re saying, “There are too many unfun killers post-Wesker”
Thanks. You just made my point for me.

Because if the killer roster has grown so bloated with anti-fun mechanics that two blocks feel like a drop in the ocean, then the problem isn’t the blocklist system.

It’s the design trend behind the killers.

After reading your response to me, I agree to every thing you said. Fair play.

  • Not enough slots to block all post Wesker slop killers so no.

  • Nice bait glowie. I'm not risking interacting and getting scolded by our Canadian commissars.

Ghoul has a non lethal power,

My guy, the Ghoul is breathing down my neck 3 seconds after hooking a Survivor at the other end of the map.
How is that not a lethal power? It is infact a VERY lethal power.

Yeah but it doesn't down you, hook you and sacrifice you automatically within 1s. Is balance see?

No. I don't want to play those Killers, I want to play Dredge, Nemesis, Ghostface, Springtrap, and Sadako. This window needs to not screw those Killers over, it needs to be addressed, that Ballpit can and does sometimes spawn a God Pallet in that room. Add a breakable door nearby at least! A God Pallet should not be able to spawn into a friggin' God Window and then into some decently strong filler tiles and loops from there like this, come on now.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3937586#Comment_3937586

Why are people downvoting you? You're right. I'm a Killer Main and even I understand Survivors have to have something against me to defend themselves! I do think that these stronger windows are still lightly problematic and should be addressed though… Survivors need resources, but no loop should feel totally safe against a Killer just because they're not super mobile.

My bad isn't this the solution we suggest to survivors? Systemic issue with the game? Just buy DLC/acquire perks that counter those play styles and be forced to run them in 100% of your games and it's YOUR fault for not playing them.

  • Just play Ghoul or Wesker with vault perks/addons. Fixed.

I'm bettng it's gonna be tied to the chase system and player movement and action. If the survivor has a some chase time they should be cleared even if they're getting hard tunneled compared to a survivor that has very little or no chase time.

'Very little or no chase time' so all of my crossplay teammates then?

most tiles are perfectly playable for M1 killers. the newer tiles play more like they were designed for killers to play blindfolded and still win

This, most maps have been nerfed to ######### to have these tiles. I don't mean just for me, there's some I can play and some I just see NO possible way to play it. But for my teammates, anything less than a jungle gym into shack into TL wall, means they'll have a 10 second chase and an unplayable game.

  • He said former not latter… So he's equating Ghoul to Wesker not Blight. Easier than A and B, as strong as A (not B).

yes, this is about Ghoul and also about general problem with releasing overpowered stuff just for the sake of people mass buying characters (most recent example also Gabriel Soma and MFT that was literally way too powerful for couple of months before nerf) until enough money has been gained.

Not nearly as salient a point when Soma is an original that can be bought with iri shards.

  • Game never recovered after changing survivor movement animations, it marked the beginning. It just keeps getting worse and worse. I miss goofy pre-MMR DBD.

If the survivors repair one generator per person and 2-3 generators are ready for the first hook. Then this is a gen rush that hits the killer's morale very hard. It's a matter of technique to repair the remaining generators. M1 is the greatest weapon of the survivors. The main thing is to use it wisely. Isn't it fun to crush the hopes of the invincible tactics of the Skull Merchant chess? This is the true potential of the survivors.

Problems arise because the survivors do everything but repair the generators. I've seen many of these in solo through Bond.

Perhaps because I first played as a killer, I got used to the eternal struggle. I see an opportunity and will do everything to win. Mine or the team's depends on what Bond shows me. For me, it's not a problem to repair a generator in the face if it ensures victory for the others.

The surviving side, on the other hand, sees only the basic quality of life sets. It does not have to make an effort to become better. All that is needed for the victory is given to the survivors by the balance of the game.

Survivor victory by using a competent M1.

You are simply afraid to see the truth. Your right. In the end, thanks to this, I will always win against survivors due to their lack of adaptation.

These two screenshots clearly show what I mean by the power of Genrush, and where the death of the team due to fear and aversion to responsibility. Who has a better chance of surviving?

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/ABGRA745ZP03/d0-b7-d0-b0-d0-b3-d1-80-d1-83-d0-b7-d0-ba-d0-b0-281-29.jpg

Serious, slightly unrelated question. Redacting survivor names makes sense even if it's a very ancient shot, but why redact the 'repairing' action text above the gen progress bar? Are you paranoid of people finding out what langauge you play the game in or something?

EVERY new big update (New DLC and mid chapters) brings more bugs and they seem to be growing exponentially with each one.
I thought devs would use the WoO of changing UE4 to UE5 to at least do something about the code, but of course not.
And it's also getting common for PTB bugs to go live.

For me this bug situation happening over and over again got to the point of that it's not an accident or that is difficult to maintain a game for 8 years. It's just that BHVR don't care if we are having a good experience or not with DbD. It's a total lack of respect for it's customers (me included). Plain and simple.
Meanwhile the skin department is non stop creating skins for Feng and Sable.
When the guy in the last Q&A at reddit asked why they don't do a "Health Chapter" to address this kind of stuff and the BHVR representative replied "it's because our Art Designers would have nothing else to do" was one of the most pathetic excuses I saw in my entire life.

Honestly I still play the game because I'm too damn competitive, so I play multiplayer games a lot and in this one I can play as one of the characters I love most from any kind of IP: Wesker.
He's the biggest reason I'm still here and now Dracula from Castlevania is coming. He too will make me hooked on this game a little more. Will co-main Wesker and Dracula.

But, seriously, this lack of respect is sad and it's getting to me.

'Why don't the devs care about the state of the game' 'Ooooh shiny new chapter, i'll drop money on it regardless'

    You are the problem.

Not exactly true, there has been a few games where survivors have actually lost line of sight and won, all survived. They didn't loop and still had an effective role. Survivors have different ways to play, most want to loop. That's fine by me because very very often I'm prepared for it and effectively take away their looping tactic and they end up losing as a result of trying it.

By all means if survivors feel looping is the way to go and enjoy the comedic scooby doo scenes then go for it, I don't find it fun but each to their own. they really shouldn't complain when they have similar boring tactics used on them tho... Camping and slugging for instance. Survivors think it's boring but they obviously don't care about my enjoyment when they are looping circles around me so why should I care about their enjoyment when I slug them and take the 4k? Works both ways, each to their own tactic, whatever makes them win and have fun. But looping rarely gets a win in my experience.

Looping is…… boring? The only point of interaction in the game is….. boring? Survivor's only viable way to make time for 90 second generators is….. boring?

Why are you playing DBD? Get a hobby or something man.

  • I'm of the opinion that if a killer has been so utterly defeated that they need to camp or tunnel to get a 1k in endgame or even earlier to try change the tide of the game before gens are completed, that they didn't really earn anything and will never improve doing so. It promotes that DBD is a game with little skill involved compared to other games.

  • Yeah, remove the penalty on DCs. The game will no longer end because of the DC like OW Quick Play. With the position killers have to just make games miserable for the sake of it or some grudge, DC penalty shouldn't exist to force people to play out games. If they don't remove DC timer, I will just continue killing myself on hook or forcing my own bleedout and then the game really will end there.

Do we need to bring up COH? That perk when launched broke the game with insta heals. Also killers haven’t gotten any op perks in a bit last one I can think of COB over a year ago. Didn’t survivors get a bunch of buddy perks last chapter?

CoH was added in 5.3.0 in October of 2021. That's almost 2 years ago, let it go. Med-kits broke CoH, even the 100% healing others was just good, not broken. Med-kits and their add-ons were always a problem, CoH just made it worse. Since then, both med-kits and CoH have been nuked into irrelevance for self-healing. Buddy? Do you mean the teamwork perks? They suck, they're terrible.

"I never noticed killer takes minutes to injure a person. Because if you don't want to make stupid boon = waste of time, then this is the case."

There's no need to be hyperbolic. Even the average person in DBD understands that heals should not take less time than injures, that's bad design. I'm not saying killers take minutes for hits, but I am saying they typically take longer than 21 seconds which is a CoH heal.

"Also as I said earlier - killers are not the problem now. 60% kill rate. Killer was never easier as is now after 6.1. there is actually 0 reasons to buff killers any more. This especially is super bad idea."

This is flawed reasoning. You shouldn't quote kills in reference to balance as they are skewed by a multitude of factors that make it near irrelevant. Even the devs have said repeatedly not to draw conclusions from those kill rates because of this. Also I don't think it's the easiest it's ever been for killer, too many people are watching their favorite streamer repeat this instead of actually having the game experience themselves.

"If you still have problems as a killer after 6.1, then I suggest you watch your games and try to learn from your mistakes. Watch more experienced players. Even people like Otz that currently is a little salty - wins most of the matches without strong slowdowns and busted addons against survivors with best items and perks..."

I don't think you have very much experience at high MMR if you're feeling this way. High MMR matches against equally good SWF groups is a completely different game than lots of the player base experiences. Most high end killers only win through being forced to tunnel someone out asap, that's how bad it is.

There's a difference between winning and why you are winning. Most matches killers win are through survivors making lots of mistakes, if both sides play perfectly you will lose almost every time as killer. This is why kills is not indicative of balance as I mentioned earlier, this is confusing correlation with causation.

It's more important to understand why someone is winning than just if they won.

You ever gonna stop being a hypocrite and provide some reasoning for your opinions or just continue stating them as fact? Also, sniffing your own arse over 'high MMR' DBD is just pathetic and cringe.

    Not everyone can afford one.

Not everyone wants to start over after thousands of hours.

Not everyone wants to re-purchase everything

PCs are more accessible than they've ever been. Are you stuck in the 80-90's or something? If you can afford current gen consoles every cycle you can afford to save for a mid-range PC, low at worst.

Sounds like you should cry to the devs for not following up on their promises of cross-progression years ago. DLC, you know what you were getting into buying a non-AAA game with tonnes of DLC, doubt the devs will ever do anything to alleviate that because M O N E Y.

  • He essentially wants to play on PC but a handicapped, bad version of PC. These devs can't even optimise an ugly game to run properly on console, mega doubt they'll add KB&M support, he's better off looking into a PC, MY GUY.

  • Believing in the MMR scam is where you went wrong. It hardly exists at this point.

  • At that point, just play on PC. You also get more FPS and customization and can do a lot more.

So?Just because you dont always win doesn't mean you have to give up.

It's a game, when there's no opportunity for one side to win, any other game allows you to concede. this isn't a new concept. Because of how jank and unbalanced DBD is towards either side at any time between any given patch, there are many cases where one side can just attrition the other side out through a 20+ minute match. This happened when Boon: CoH was added and now killers can just hard stall now and ensure a win through a long, boring process. Don't know about you but I prefer faster games, with more interaction.

    Here's some of basic reasons:

    1. "This killer doesn't play like an ape, I can't handle it" - DC.
    2. "Oh damn, I failed my DH..." - DC.
    3. "I don't like playing against this killer..." - DC.
    4. "My teammates just hiding around instead of doing gens..." - DC.
    5. "I'm getting tunneled." - DC.
    6. "Killer is facecamping me, I'm tired of it." - DC.
    7. "Killer have 4 hooks, and we did only 1 gen, it's over." - DC.
    8. "HOW IS THAT A HIT?!" - DC.
    9. "Oh no, he's slugging... He's so bad." - DC.
    10. "She's doing a totem instead of unhooking me." - DC.
    11. "So it's 4 gen-regression perks?" - DC.
    12. "Oh P-off with your Franklin's." - DC.
    13. "WHAT AM I WATCHING RIGHT NOW?!" - DC.

There is like 29382938 reasons. But the most unsettling part about it - Survivors thinks that they're allowed to DC in DBD, which is completely wrong.

The most basic reasons to any DC - Tilt, anger, lack of skill.

True! Immediately if I see a killer/perk I don't like i'm slapping that Leave Game.

No, seriously. Once 1 survivor dies most of the time there's no point trying to struggle it out. The killer has to severely ######### up to lose a 1v3 at any point. Especially if there's 3+ gens remaining.

Do your absolute best to keep them alive.

Save them before they finish, heal them, do your best to keep them alive. Don't let them out of the game.

If I catch someone doing this in my games, I will never kill them no matter how long they stand at the hook. I'll keep them alive until the very end, and only kill them to make sure they won't get hatch.

If they want out of the game and don't want to eat the DC penalty (wonder why they're scared of it), make it as much of a long and grueling process as possible. Be like the Spirit I just played against who grabbed this guy off a totem, saw he was trying to suicide on hook and refused to play, and never killed him until the very end.

Hopefully one of these days they deal with this silly mechanic.

A 1v3 will still more than likely end before a 15-minute DC timeout. If you think this is some insane 5-head gotcha, you're wrong.

This discussion was about last year's event cosmetics.

Last year it was clearly stated multiple times that those outfit were obtainable only during the Witching Hour Event, but apparently BHVR changed their mind on the topic, and simply put for a sale those skins one year later, without ever feeling the need to address the fact that theoretically they were supposed to be exclusives.

Now, I know that exclusives are bad and yadayada, but I'm curious to see what the community thinks of this behaviour in general.

In my opinion at least, stating that one thing is an exclusive, and then backtracking one year later without ever aknowledging the fact that they backtracked is a despicable behaviour, and it opens up certain miscommunication issues that could arise and cause some people to get (rightfully so) angry.

What do you guys think? Is it fine for BHVR to change the rules of the game basically without telling us? Or would like them to at least own up to their decisions and admit that they had a change of heart somewhere along the way?

(thanks to @Mooks to bringing up this past discussion)

Clarification: the "Witching Hour" outfits they are talking about in the post are the Mikaela and Doctor Halloween skins that were unlockable for free during last year event, and sold for a limited time this year again.

There's the whole "What's exclusive and what's not?" discussion that needs a dedicated thread, so I'll probably create one to discuss what we know and what we don't know for sure, but it's going to take a little bit of time to put together all the info, because BHVR is not making this task easy at all.

Wow BHVR is an unprofessional mess of a company that only puts out mainly sub-par and straight up awful games complete with baffling decisions and contradictions? Shock!

I believe a indicator in the lobby would lead to people with bad connection to don't find a game cause let's be real who would stay in that lobby if you see a big red marker from the killer.

The problem is bad connection is not always the fault of the user. People from the middle east or south Afrika for example have no own server to connect to so they always have a bad ping. If you could shop for a lobby where the killer has good connection then these people would never find a game until bhvr decides to give them there own server wich could be never

Honestly, good. Screw console players and killers with poor ping getting advantages.

    1) How would we stop people from lying? Would lone wolf survivors, or other survivors that know their strategy hurts their team, lie on their role so people won't lobby dodge them as much?

    2) What happens if some roles are way more desirable than others? I would always want three other survivors that are good at chases, and that would always be preferable over people that are good at hiding. Most people with a stealth build aren't good at chases, and they are a risk to their team if the killer does find them.

    3) What happens if some of the roles are a bit useless? Unless someone brings a full hyperfocus build to a game, then the "I'm good at repairing" role is a bit useless. We all can repair generators, and "I'm good at repairing" is usually just another way of saying "I'm terrible at chases with the killer, and will likely lose chases very quickly"

Yeah, role queue is how you kill your game any% speedrun style. It'll just create longer queues, more lobby dodging and more salt towards people who don't perform well.

The survivor still got found, downed and hooked, which is the killers objective loop.

How many times does it need to be said that survivors are not entitled to every hook state. The game isn't "get hooked twice but not three times." You're supposed to avoid getting hooked entirely.

There are counters to camping, and there is more they can do to make camping more costly for killers. Thats what they need to do.

New hatch is still this. The argument you're making that survivors MUST complete their objective is an argument to remove hatch altogether. That would definitely be bad for the game. Old keys should come back and if 1 survivor dies with no gens completed hatch should spawn.

  • Dying on first hook is optimal.

how running Autodidact trolling? and running any perk trolling🙄

What do you mean? Survivors have some of the best killer perks in the game.

This is ridiculous. I just had four games in a row with players DCing and giving up on hook. All players with paid RE cosmetics from today. In all four games the killer didn’t even camp or tunnel. These players just “gave up” because they were either found first or just downed. This really baffles me as to why you would spend $18 bucks on skins then not even play the game properly. It’s so frustrating that so many players are like this, ruining the game. How are you supposed to get better if you don’t even try?

‘At this point, I’m all for making disconnects having harsher penalties/longer timeouts. And maybe players who let themselves go on hook an egregious amount of times (especially consecutively) can get a different type of penalty. Idk, I’m just over it. I want to keep playing but this ######### is deflating. Even going into this update KNOWING there will be a lot of DC’ing, still couldn’t prepare me for this. This is just a blatant buzzkill- more than usual.

‘Anyone else tired of this b.s? To the point where you just turn the game off and play something else, and hope when you return most of the quitters will be off?

Nice try OP, you almost got me to actually launch DBD with this post to join them. Not this patch.

As somebody who's played ranked Dota for the better part of their life, voice comms isn't worth it. I'd rather suffer at the hands of a thousand basement bubbas than listen to some of the insanity that people spew. dbd has a pretty bad community, I honestly wouldn't want to embolden these people.

Especially as console crossplay is a thing it'd be 10x worse than anything we heard in DotA. I get tumors just listening to console surv streamers in my games.
