  • Right, so basically you want to hide valid critique.

    Actual comedy skit.

  • Deadlock and lethal pursuer are the worst killer perks designed.

Deja Vu is the worst survivor perk designed.

  • This is.. a very bad take.

Of cause you should be entitled to people playing a certain way and when they don't you should complain. I remember back when this game use to quite new survivors had a saying "get good in the chase." It was a way of just shutting down valid criticism of how the game was designed. While I agree the devs hold the ultimate responsibility in maintaining fun and balance as a community you should try to promote the game in a way that is fun. I understand that is subjective too a point but survivors have been offering valid criticism of killers who people don't want to go against and have just been silenced.

I really hate the DC penalty because it was mostly introduced to hide the fact things like if it was removed survivors would DC most matches against Ghoul or Jason. I'm not saying that means they have to be rushed nerfed but you have to acknowledge flaws in their design.

here is my question. The second floor of RPD library use to accessible and when certain builds almost impossible to get hooks. Would you say that survivors that use this build were ruining the match by abusing a flaw in the design or should killers just have to deal with it?

Okay then it seems I'll need to be a bit hyperbolic to make you understand. Quick question would you play Russian Roulette knowing only one in five chambers was loaded? It's a high chance of not firing after all.

Guys, please remember this was a post about a video game and wanting more aura blocking perks.

I'm not asking for nerfs just more perks for aura blocking

There is no need for Russian roulete????

They are complaining about aura reading perks, the anti-aura perks is a "pretty simple solution" for them but there's issues with perks like this imo.

But I just have one question to people who say that aura reading perks is an issue, would they rather play against info perks so the killer only knows where they are sometimes (so judgement can know where to shoot and survivors still can dodge), full slowdown which makes the games last longer (judgement can still snipe the gens without aura perks because of the gen aura) and sometimes also situational info or hex perks which can be strong and are very annoying to deal with while can also be slowdown (and judgement protecting the hexes)?

What I want, is for survivors to have the option to bring in a build to potentially counter certain killer builds.

there is nothing wrong the builds and is a good change of pace from (4 gen slow down perks) however survivors do not have anywhere near enough perks to counter balance this.

I am simply pointing out that you do not need to change killer or he perk themselves (except lethal pursuer, that perk should not exist,) and give survivor a way help deal with these perks and addons. It does not have to be a complete counter just a way to give agency to survivors.

  • The devs don't hate survivor but they ae more scared of changing survivor too much then killer.

Everything about survivor is watered down and is always a boring either useless or just uninteresting.

Anytime anything for survivor new comes out there is instant complain from killers and immediate nerf.

Survivors do the same sure, but they are often ignored, looks at Jason.

  • I am glad sprint burst is getting nerfed, even if it is slightly. Exhaustion perks are very strong, and sprint burst is simply way to good to get a head start.

The bigger problem is killer balance. Because against most killers I support the change, but for Blight it is not needed.

The bigger issue is the refusal to address the few killers way to strong as this causes an imbalance for just about everything else.

He got a downvote from me because the statement "I don't have killeranxiety because I'm not nacissistic" is straight up an insult to people that have it, and it's rather sad that you seem to agree to that.

I could also say something to the 4k part, to the part with work and live (I worked 9 hours yesterday btw and the day before 10, in both cases I had time to play still), calling it "boring entainment" and still doing it is also wild.

Also coming to a post with people that are scared to play one side or another and telling them that you're disappointed in them (which he essencially did with the sentence "I'm disappointed in the quality of players") is straight up diabolic.

You don't have anxiety, you have an ego. And worse people like you weaponize actual anxiety is actually offensive.

No I downvoted him because of the stuff in the end of his post. I would agree on the top most ones but he went off the rails in the end. The lives and job part is idiotic statement in itself for example as everyone has a life its hard to not have one. It also makes him sound of what he claims others to be in most of the statements he did in the end of his post.

everyone has a life its hard to not have one

No… I do not agree with this statement. The fact that this is even a conversation.

The idea that turning off the video game is not an option proves that.

  • Killer addons are the reason the game is so unbalanced.

A, the power difference between killers with and without addons is huge and is the reason why kill rates often don't indicate the strength of the killer without. E.G. Trapper with his strongest addons is a viable killer, Trapper without is not.

B, They cause way too much variance when it comes to balancing perks and killer powers, e.g. Wraith, Serpent soot and turn back the clock

    C. They cause huge power difference between new and older players. Where the new players are actively disadvantaged against because they have not stockpiled 30 eggs on Wesker while the older players have enough to make it to the next event.

  • I am so tired of this. You don't have anxiety, you have a fragile ego, there is a difference.

You're "Anxiety" is actually just a ego trip that you may have to face the reality that you're just not that good at killer, which ok, that doesn't make you a bad person or anything but you're ego is so fragile, that the idea that you may lose a video game is having you spiral all that says is about you, nothing about killer.

Seriously, take a break, it's normal to just take a break, or stop all together.

This pity party that some killers have is insane.

You start a match with "I'M A VICTIM," seriously, you're not victim, you are fishing for sympathy and validation, that you're never the problem, everyone else is.

  • Jason is such a weird killer and the "Counterplay" that people are suggesting is so strange.

So the general counterplay is "Crouch" or actively throw yourself at him to get chases, which has never been a thing in DBD. Even with other killers, including killers who are Anti stealth in their design, still allow for some degree of stealth. Terror radius or lockers can be used to avoid the killer or at least move preemptively but Jason offers no indication and now way to tell if he's right behind you or half way across the map and "the grass moving," is not a reliable way to tell.

Ok, so you crouch to avoid the killer ok, fair enough, but this is what is starting to happen.

    image.png

The survivors are loading in, just stealthing waiting for him to find someone. Yes, the survivors know they have to do a gen to win, but they also know if they start a gen he is going to teleport on top of them and the 1st survivor found often the least likely to escape.

Even if survivors don't do this, this power drags matches out to a crawl. I thought we all agreed that Skull Merchant was miserable to go against because she dragged matches out for 20 minutes? Why is this suddenly fine for Jason? Because he is strong?

We all agree what the problem is, the omnipresent ability.

More often than not, I see players who has bad rep in both roles. Being toxic just for the sake of it.
It's really not a side-issue, it is respectfully a player issue.

No IT IS A SIDE ISSUE

Because the killer specific problems are worse and not being taken seriously.

I know on the forums that unless you post the most milk toast Reponses you get mass downvoted. But I am tired of pretending that matches like this one, aren't happening even semi consistently. Or that it is even close to equal to survivors spamming the crouch button.

I Know everybody wants to say how wrong I am but there now issues for people even trying to play the game and they can't do it, because the teammates keep giving up and I CANNOT BLAME THEM.

  • @hermitkermit said:

I’m sorry you’ve had this kind of experience, that would certainly be enough for me to log off for the day. But please know that it’s not a killer specific issue. The players that are toxic killers are the same people that are toxic survivors. I do think there are different standards for both roles, and things one role is criticized for doing is not for the other, but that goes for both and anyone that tries to say otherwise is just biased past the point of communication (which is the real entitlement lol) There are plenty of people who will excuse anything if it happens to be their preferred role, and will say something isn’t toxic when it obviously is, but that’s something both roles suffer for. It’s not killers as a whole, it was a guy that was a jerk that happened to be playing killer at that moment. Still, your frustration is understandable and I’m sorry you went through that. I wish you better luck and better teammates in your future games!

No, read my post, it is a killer specific issue.

I do not hold an opinion that survivor's a good and killer is bad. BUT

The problem is there so may ways that killers are actively sucking ruining the game, and nothing can be done about because they are all victims.

This match was not a one off match. It constant stream of everything in all the time. Anytime any of this needs to be addressed it's oh but think of the poor killers. Can't do anything by tunneling, that would ruin it for killers. The entire mechanic of sabo is a dead mechanic. Survivors have given up on entirely because the killers whined and whined until it got nerfed the point that is is just dead.

Killer's 100% take the power role and use to just make the match miserable for 1 player, and it's not me every match. It happens to my teammates all the time, 1 player gets screwed and the the other 3 can't really do anything, this happens all the time. I know that there are toxic survivors. But survivors whining in the end game chat after they played badly is just not comparable to killers actively trying to ruin the game for people and then the devs rewarding this, by refusing to give survivors tools to deal with this.

    THE GIVE UP EPIDEMIC.

Of cause survivors are giving up this is miserable. I know there are some survivors who just funnel the cool aid and go well sure the killer actively tried to make a survivor dc because they looped him for too long but sometimes gens go to fast so it's fine.

WHAT is wrong with online games, this never use to be a thing.

Is this perk, that has existed for years, you can run with the same build that everyone is running with fast track

Those two perks are not even close…. Specialist is trash perk.
It doesn't make you do gens faster, when you need to waste time on chests.

Fast track let's you play exactly same as you would without it, but you just get extra gen progress during the game.

AGAIN, I will say this again, because some people really struggle to comprehend this.

The point is not that specialist is better then fast track. I have outlined my reasons why I think so in this post, but that is an opinion.

What is a FACT and my actual point.

Fast track is not a unique perk. There are a bunch of different gen combos that survivors that can run which are more consistent and fast including combos that you apply permanent progress, and been part of the game for years and not been an issue.

NOTHING about Fast track is new, the ONLY REASON people are throwing a tantrum about this perk, is because of a few overdramatic youtubers trying to farm views.

  • @ChaosWam said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4069500#Comment_4069500

    Okay?

With Fast Track, you can do gens AND get value when a teammate gets hooked.

Specialist, you're wasting time opening chests and rummaging.

How is this hard to understand what takes more time getting gens done?

Also, as I said before, Fast Track gives you more charges.

    I will say this again.

Because you are really struggling with this.

The point is not to argue that specialist is better then fast track. Is better to lose a hook state versus use time looting a chest? Wasting the few seconds to open a chest for an affect the killer has no control over versus one that is passive that killer does have some control over.

It's a subjective argument that has no definitive answer. I will say it again for you. While I would argue that specialist is better then fast track, it is not wrong for you to have the opinion that fast track is better then specialist.

    My point

Is this perk, that has existed for years, you can run with the same build that everyone is running with fast track and get the same effect. This has existed for 2 years, and has never been issue. It is literally only right now being consider an issue to when running stakeout hyperfocus, which again you have been able to do for years.

Nothing about this is new. What is new, is some players are acting like the game is unplayable, when nothing has changed.

  • @ChaosWam said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4069492#Comment_4069492

Specialist requires jumping through multiple hoops to activate it's effect.

Fast Track only wants a GSC and a hook.

You can waste less time doing a gen and letting your team loop, get hooked, and then add Fast Track value compared to wasting a ton of time to get Specialist to work.

    It's not a comparison.

Specialist requires jumping through multiple hoops to activate it's effect.

Step 1, rummage or open a chest.

    Step 2. Perk is activated.

That's too much for you? Really

You can waste less time doing a gen and letting your team loop, get hooked, and then add Fast Track value compared to wasting a ton of time to get Specialist to work.

I get the feeling you have never touched Specialist ever. But in order to activate fast track your teammates would need to go down, which activates one of the many meta killer perks that are anti gen. There is no counter to specialist. At all.

Now none this is to argue, Specialist > Fast track., even though… it is. It's to point out that this has existed for years and has never been an issue. It is only now that youtubers have thrown a massive fit, that people are saying there is an issue.

  • @ChaosWam said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4069488#Comment_4069488

When was Specialist ever talked about here?

This is about Fast Track itself. And I'm talking about it because I personally use it to win matches.

The only time I LOST matches with it is when my teammates throw.

Edit: In fact, Fast Track gives more value than specialist, only beaten by BNP and ONLY when there's 3 stacks, which is one hook. BNP gives 9 charges while 3 stacks give 6.

    Follow along.

Specialist, and Fast track, have the same affect. The difference is how the activate.

Specialist can be activated before any pressure is applied.

Fast track requires, the killer to apply pressure. In order to get value. Further to get real value, the killer would have to down and hook, multiple survivors.

    Now

Fast track gets 3 tokens perk hook, each token is 2%, so you get 6% per hook. Now you cap out at 9 tokens, which is 3 hooks, before you have to apply it before the next hook state, otherwise you waste the tokens.

Specialist gets 4% per token, per rummage and unlock of a chest. The killer have no affect on this, so you can choose when to apply it. and still et the maximum use. Which caps out at 6 tokens. So you wait until the end game and dump on on one of the last 3 gens and get the full value. This does not even take into account offerings.

The only time I LOST matches with it is when my teammates throw.

Then you must be a top survivor. The secret ingredient was never fast track, it was just you.

You are not getting that much value form the perk, and if you are, then the killer is either bad, playing in a very relaxed way or both.

None of this is a promoting of specialist because this itself is not a good perk, my whole point is this exact combo has existed years and has never been problem because it isn't. Fast track is finally not terrible and I don't want it gutted while survivors just keep running the actual problematic perks.

  • @ChaosWam said:

People will downvote this opinion. I've tried speaking against the Fast Track buff.

I run hyperfocus/stake out normally, I know how strong it is, and Fast Track makes it so much better. In fact, I even dropped hyperfocus for vigil/sprint burst because I can either keep chases long and have teammates get gens done, or other survivors get hooked and I'm constantly getting stake out/fast track value and finish a gen by the time the killer gets to me. Just save the toolbox for when I need a quick skill check.

I'm sure there's other ways like throwing on something like Built to Last but yeah.

    Also

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4069460#Comment_4069460

Fast Track wasn't busted before because the progression could be regressed. I don't know if you read patch notes, but it's now consistent BNP value.

I actually did read notes thank you for asking? Did you?

If you did you may know about a Lara croft perk called specialist. Specialist does the following,

    •  consumes all Tokens.
    • Permanently reduces the Repair Charges requirement of that Generator by 2/3/4 Charges

This perk which came out in 2024, has the same effect, the main difference is you can apply it before the killer can even get a down. Also, in order to get any real value from fast track the killer would have to get multiple downs applying good pressure and also spreading out the hooks in the least optimal way possible, whereas Specialist can be applied before the killer can get any pressure.

OH NO, THI NEW COMBO IS SO BUSED THAT IT'S NEVER USED.

The only reason Fast track is being used right now is because a few youtubers and some people on the forums threw massive fit over the perk and uploaded a couple of videos in custom matches coordinating the most optimal setup to apply the perk, so they can upload video in big capital letters,

NEW FAST TRACK IS GOING TO MAKE ALL KILELRS QUIT, or some other ridiculous title.

Even now, in it's most talked about time, where everyone is saying all their matches is just 4man SWFS all running Fast track it is only sitting 21st of most used survivor perks.

IT'S one of the worst gen perks in the game. There are so many better combos that are actually broken. I am so glad, that people lack the creativity to experiment because this would actually affect killers.

  • Fast track is a bad perk.

I don't how people struggle to understand this.

Also this combo has existed for years and has never been an issue. It's just a bunch of people (low skilled kilkers) throwing tantrums because because thus what people are crying about this week.

It's already being uses less as people return to meta perks.

  • Fast track is an awful perk and the only time those insane clips are done for youtube is in a 4 man SWF in a kill your friends match.

A perk that needs your teammates to get hooked is so punishing that i is a joke.

I really hate how online overreactions create such artificial panic and is never used in a real match.

  • What an awful Idea.

So building an entire build that is less effective then running the meta is now unfair? Yes, a full healing build is not a bad build and can be fun. But if you're punished for this, why wouldn't you just run meta? Running meta is already the best way to win, and now that's even more so?

What did the devs play a match where they lost to 4 survivors with healing perks?

We're not going ahead with the anti camp, anti slug, anti tunnel because it controls killers to much.

We're now going to punish players for stacking builds.

    You want to fix this?

    REMOVE KILLER ADODNS.

THEY BREAK EVERYTHING and are the reason killers are unbalanced.

  • @Abbzy @Dionysusdog

The abandon feature is not for survivors to stop the killer form wasting the time. It is to stop the killer from holding the game hostage. Because that's what they were doing. Just to to be toxic. And a little toxicity is normal. But not when they are dragging it out for minutes at a time.

So why don't killers get this. THEY DID, it's called the end game collapse which I support.

Seriously if you can't handle forcing people out the exit game you nay need to consider you can't handle online games.

  • The reason why Nurse, Blight and Kaneki have not been nerfed is because they are poorly designed killers.

There is no way to balance killers when comparing them to say Trapper. The only to do it would be to either significantly buff every other killers or redesign the few broken killers form the ground up. How do you balance a killer that can teleports though walls or flies across the map.

now of cause they could redesign them but there would be outcry and even if they went ahead anyway they would just become forgettable.

    looks at Freddy.

  • Easy anti cheat has a bunch of issue.

usually I find leaving it for a day fixes it but if it persists, try be booting the PC and if still isn't working, do an uninstall re install can fix it.

  • For people comparing rehades to to say discord you are comparing using a 3 party software to alter the game to give you an advantage versus, using software to play SWF which is literally part of the game.

I am not arguing the SWF does not provide an advantage, Yes, it does however the devs intended for SWF to be part of the game and and part of playing with friends is you speak with them, it was always intended.

What was not intended was using software with the intension of giving yourself an advantage. Let's be honest, while some using it for color blindness, which I understand that is not the majority. Discord and reshades are apples and oranges.

  • I like how people are pretending there was more killer variety before the pallet change..

    There wasn't.

  • This may seem very obvious but DBD has an issue with Tunneling and camping. this is not new and small tweaks have been made before.

But this was the first time the devs tried to implement real impactful game change to seriously remove these strategies. And these changes could be split into

    Good

    bad

    Good ideas but badly designed.

The devs had a real chance to seriously improve the quality of the life of the game, was every idea good and should be implemented, no but they didn't need every change, some should stay some should go, some just needed redesigns. Instead of recognizing this as a great quality of life improvement a portion of the player base started screeching and threatening to quit, and the devs got scared and yes they say they will come back, to this, meanwhile still waiting for them to come back to Twins. And this is a victory??? this is the good ending.

Every issue survivors have still exists, nothing changed

    What a joke of patch.

  • SO history lesson

Survivors use to have these things called "different strategies." These were different ways to play the game that was objectively less effective then just going the gens. These included but not limited to

    Stealth

    Sabo

    Flashlights.

All 3 of these ways to play was slower then just doing generators and was less effective then just doing gens. So when survivors only did gens this was called "gen rushing." However as the years went on killer's complained that every different strategy was unfair. So they were all nerfed hard. Now are only weaker but borderline pointless. The only strategy left is doing generators.

you cannot genrush when you can only use one strategy. And I promise you any time survivors try something new it's complained about and nerfed. Look at fog viles.

  • Behaviour has tried so many times to discourage these strategies.

They are not fun to deal with and ruin the game. They kept doing these light changes and killers kept looking for a work around.

Now it has finally reached a boiling point. Survivor SUCKS, because these strategies are being used all the time. So GG to all the killers complaining about this. You did it.

  • @Adrien said:

The concept of invocation is interesting.

    1. Oh I didn't know you couldn't use both. Yes that's a good change.

      https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/439628/invocation-perks-buff

    2. I wouldn't go for aa stealth change tho.

My suggestion is a big buff : 20 seconds after completion, gives the broken status effect for 150 seconds (2.5 minutes).

It allows the survivor to leave basement safely vs a teleport/high mobility killer and even if the killer tunnel them, the survivor will be able to get healed (syringe/For the people) later in the game.

So it could make Invocation perks more appealing.

Nobody talks about Invocation and it's not a bad concept but the trade off is too high.

2 minutes of broken would be good as well, I don't want the mechanic to be abandoned the same way boons are as the perks are not bad.

  • @CLHL said:

This discussion could be taken minimally seriously if it were not for the fact that you encounter at least one Brand New Parts, Styptic Agents and Syringes per match. Survivor items are not even necessary for the normal course of a match, but that does not detract them from carrying the best at their disposal.

Compare that to playing The Doctor without any add-ons, what mean having no illusions (red stain, fake doctor, fake pallets or fake terror radius) at any level of Madness. It's like playing an extremely limited version of the killer. It is true that this extreme is not common for all killers, but for many some specific add-ons are a must.

Which again is my point. If a killer is reliant on addons then the killer needs base buffs. But you can't justify the buffs because of addons. That is what throws out balance. Unless you want throw out balance for fun. But then you need to bring back the old things that was removed for balance.

  • @I_Cant_Loop said:

if the game is “the most balanced it’s ever been”, why would you be proposing any changes? That doesn’t make any sense

What? That's not how ballance works?

The game was more balanced now then 2020 and 2020 was then 2017. We still made more changes. And will make further changes.

I think you can do some pretty advantageous things with items and their add-ons especially with combined perks, and if you don’t think so then I suggest research.

See that's the issue, combined perks.

If a killer needs to run a specific build to get strong value then that is fine. but the addons you just throw on and boost your power sometimes by a little sometimes a lot can't be justified. Unless they are made extremely limited.

I would suggest you learn to play killer without addons and see how much they carry you.

They thought/think the take of your post is so hilariously bad that it has to be a joke/bait and isn't worth talking about and instead researched if this is a one of a kind for your or your general demeanor in the forum.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/438175/there-is-no-justification-for-killer-addons

One of my biggest complaints about the games is addons, both on the killer and survivor side. Its one of the things that turned me off from the game when it first released (when there was stuff like 'auto complete a gen'). I've always hated how the game felt like it had a difficulty slider (sweaty) about how people want to play.

Conceptually, MMR should deal with this. If a player constantly plays overpowered addons they'll get moved to a higher MMR where things will balance out. In my experience that kind of happens, when I see killers running over powered addons they tend to not be that good at the game, and usually when I get stomped by a killer they're not actually running anything. However, MMR is frequently unreliable and complained about, and this system breaks down at the margins anyway.

That said, addons are necessary to create variety within the game. I wish though that all addons were pro/con in their approach. Sadly I think the design is way too baked into how the games works to ever be changed.

That's part of the main reason. Killer addons inflate the skill level of the killer. Variety is fine it's good, but addons aren't variety they're just power boosts. Most killers cannot play the game without them. I have no issue with an addon that's fun, just the ones that takes away the skill of the killer.

this right here is the problem, I suggest that maybe people are so reliant on these addons that they can't play the game without training wheels and I'm labeled as bait. Proving that people can't play the game without them. you are correct they are ingrained and will never be removed, but I stand by my point. there is no justification for them other then "I want them" see the responses.

Killer addons also affect the balancing because killers are strong or weak based on what people choose to run. They cause so many issues.

  • @HeroLives said:

I think add-ons are fine. They need tuning here and there like everything else in the game, but I think they add varieties(and fun) to killer playstyles so you have options to play with, which is never a bad thing. By far my favorite games are always ones where I have more customization over my characters be it their look or what they can do, and the best games have both.

But would you apply that same logic to old flashlights, toolboxes, sabo hatch ect. Or do they not count as variety?

  • @TieBreaker said:

Add-ons are there for variety. Why should scratch mirror get removed just because survivor items are weaker than they used to be. It makes no sense.

Ok, let's say we justly the 10 or so goofy addons. That still removes the variety of addons that exist as simple power boosts. Let's not be disingenuous. Also you say keep for variety but would that not also be applied to things like old hatch?

  • Maybe instead of stopping people form giving up we instead look at the reasons and address them?

Funny enough they have made it far harder and yet it's the worse it's been. So maybe we ask why people give up. Maybe they have a reason?

so you hardcore twisted my argument where i was talking about people refusing to do their objectives whole match with...endgame camping and decision of teammate to help or not depending on situation? Wow

Apologies if you felt that way that was not my intention. I think you believe it's I've twisted your words because I'm talking about endgame, but ok I'll rephrase. If I load into a match and my goal is to get saves that is not in the "teams" best interest. In fact a lot of survivor challenges such as escaping through the hatch, encourages you to prioritize the challenge over the match.

Or even better if you are running a goofy build like no mither or just bad perks in general you are inherently jeopardizing your team' chance of success. OK maybe you don't accept that, what about mettle of man? If you try to get that perk to activate you are likely going to make it far harder for your "team" because you are wasting time on a perk that offers minimal value and is hard to activate.

My point is we all have our own sperate goals and get out your "teammates" may be your goal but is not mine and certainly not an official rule on how to paly.

I wouldn't even consider it forcing to be altruistic -- if you want your best chance of living, people need to unhook and trade health stages.

If the exit gates are powered, you are free to leave.

If a Trapper/Hag is hooking people in basement and gens are left up, no one expects you to go be a hero and unhook the people in basement.

As you've pointed out, you situationally play in a team oriented way, therefore the game is team-based regardless. Five generators need to be powered and it's easy to do with survivors available to do them.

If I'm stuck in a slugging situation (2v1), I don't go to pick up the survivor as more than likely it's just going to prolong the game and I can get hatch/gate. People wouldn't consider that being a selfish player.

However, people who just sit around and wait for their team to die is what the original person you responded to was talking about.

And I don't see anything wrong with that.

If that''s how someone chooses to play. The killer chooses how they get kills and survivors choose how to escape. If you want to make it bannable that's fine, but things get subjective very quickly as you stated I am not obligated to save a teamate on hook.

So no I have no issue with survivors using a solo escape strategy. If the devs don't like it, redesign the game don't nerf a joke perk (wake up).

So, you are not the person that people are talking about?

People are directly talking about people who do not progress the game forward and hide in a corner waiting for people to die.

You said, "I disagree that survivor Is a team based game, but you disagree. Well what are the rules?" >> yet just said, "Yes I work with others as it is best interest." - so, you work in a team based way to get the most out of your survival, no?

It depends, sometimes yes, other times no. It's very much what I feel in the moment.

Good example.Sometines if the killer is camping I will trade places on hook knowing I won't escape. Other times I will let them die.

There is no rule that says I have to do either. But forcing people to be altruistic is bad design.

I think it's more so centered around the idea that the game gets easier the more survivors are alive.

Of course, if the exit gate is open - you are free to leave unless the survivor is hooked right next to the gate.

However, I do feel like DBD is a team-based game to a certain extent but I am aware that there are selfish players that play this game. But in order to be in higher MMR, you have to take risks such as unhooking other survivors, doing gens, and progressing the game forward as that is your best chance at survival.

Stealthing in a corner and waiting for your team to die can only get you so far in DBD.

IIt'S not about how far. Yes I work with others as it is best interest. But I get to decide when my best interest is to give up on everyone else and save myself. Unless people want official rules which was my point.

playing the way...i don't like? You want to tell me that refusing to do your objectives is simply playing the way just i don't like? Sorry, but with this mentality you should either stick to singleplayers.

Well hold on a minute, let's be specific.

I disagree that survivor Is a team based game, but you disagree. Well what are the rules?

If you are hooked and the exit gate is open, do I have to save you? I say no, you say yes right? Well what if they are camping? Or trapper or leatherface? NOED.

What are the rules and where can I find them?

because devs officially said that they technically can't determine when kobe was used in an "go next" manner and when not. Solution: remove kobe, unless you have dedicated perks.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3877965#Comment_3877965

do a full record of a match where somebody does it, file a report to BHVR and see report feedback and action taken for griefing.

Yeah... that would be a false report which is bannable. Playing way you don't like is not griefing.

  • @NarkoTri1er said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3877928#Comment_3877928

ignoring rest of the match and just preparing yourself for escape is considered griefing and is bannable

By that logic, ending yourself on hook should be bannable… which it isn't.

BHVR said the crux of the problem is that solo survivors don't work together as much as SWF. You can read the official quote right here. It's an official BHVR answer.

Well if the devs said it, then it must be right, it's not like they get it wrong sometimes… frequently, all the time.

But sarcasm aside, the the devs seem to imply that the issue is a lack of working together, which I'm sorry is ridiculous. Granted working together in coordination is way stronger, but let's be honest that's not why they are losing. Solo Q is losing because survivors are running to shack and throwing the pallet down in 5 seconds, camping pallets ect. I play SWF and most of the time we talk about things completely unrelated to DBD, it's not a complex game. You move from gen to gen and run away from the killer. Survivors can't even do that. that's not lack of working together it's people doing the objective in its entirety. Well they must be strategically waiting people out which is just wrong. It's people running the meta, not people running solo builds doing this. To be honest its with extreme rarity that I see a solo build, most people running wake up and running a bit of a joke build for fun.

But even if wrong about everything, nerfing wake up is like trying to stop a flood with a bandaid. It is the smallest of smallest of issues. Even if people don't like players letting the teammates die to save themselves wake up nerf will not change that at all.

  • @Coffeecrashing said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3877762#Comment_3877762

The best way to close the gap between solo q and SWF, is to discourage survivors from having massively selfish playstyles.

How is solo q supposed to feel like a team, when it's "acceptable" for players to decide their primary game strategy is to be as selfish as possible?

And by the way, massively selfish survivor playstyles are actually in the killer's favor, because when survivors spend the entire game hiding, and not helping their teammates, it makes it easier for the killer to win.

I honestly wonder if we're playing the same game.

Solo Q isn't struggling because people are all waiting for exit gates to use wake up. They are struggling because their teammates can't last 10 seconds in a chase. I don't know how to fix that but nerfing wake up won't fix it.

It's usually the most meta of survivors that are making matches unwinnable because they have no understanding of how to play the game and just know, the perks are strong.

So what if I'm playing for myself, show me where the rules of the game. should we report players who leave a teammate behind to save themselves? I play for myself and if another survivor does as well that's fine. Not this vague sort of, kind of rules but not really.

Sole Survivor and Wake Up are in the top 5 escape rates, because so many people are specifically using them in selfish builds.

    And…

What does that even mean? You use it to save yourself. what is wrong with that? If a match is determined as a loss by a survivor is nerfing wake up going to make them play riskier if they want to live?

I can't believe the devs sat down in a meeting a said, you know what's the biggest thing holding back survivors, Wake up.

  • The actual entitlement. You certainly aren't running more chill builds yourself. People who try extremely hard and run their stronger builds is bad.. unless it's you. Then it's fair game.

    Massively hypocritical

Oh but I guess you aren't running the strongest builds you can but they are like that is an accomplishment. Then threatening to sweat harder because you are actually just as reliant on the broken parts of the game as they are.

  • They do... it's called disconnect.

    Just disconnect
