Are invocations ever going to get help?
These changes are great overall, I'm very happy with them from a glanceI love the idea of Invocations but the risk is far too great for the reward.
They either need to increase the reward of completing a ritual or decrease the penalty for doing so.
-
This is just, awful.
This is what happens when the game's code is messy, one change can absolutely cause a chain reaction of bugs.
It's even stranger when they haven't kill switched Streetwise, that broken perk is wrecking havoc on the game's balance right now! -
Invocations needs to be reworked.
1: The downside is too great, being permanently injured can lead to being tunneled more often.
2: The immense time it takes to do it, you could already complete a gen the time you're done, having other people to speed it up tends to not be efficient.
3: You can only do one Invocations at a time, this eats up soo much time and discourages doing invocation combos. My proposal to make invocations more useful.
1: The downside instead inflicts a debuff on the one who started the ritual. Maybe based on what the invocation was, Treacherous Crows would reveal the caster when they scare crows, Weaving Spiders would shrink the repair skill check size on the caster.
2: You can do multiple invocations at the same time. *BUT IT HAS A SLIGHT SPEED PENALTY FOR EACH EXTRA INVOCATION* -
The gameplay I tried compared to other killers.
Springtrap is without a doubt a product of powercreeping.
He is multiple killers but with refined mechanics, he is greatly flexible in multiple roles and even better in some cases.
Deathslinger- Slower in movement
- Speed penalties while aiming
- Deepwound is not as oppressive as Axe Embedded
- Weaker Map Pressure (Large Maps = Long Travel Time)
Demogorgon
- Portals can be destroyed
- Springtrap Addon almost does it job better than basekit
- Undetectable after teleporting isn't as long as Springtrap
Huntress
- She has an advantage with range but she struggles a bit more when it comes to cover and particular low walls.
- She has a gigantic terror radius due to lullaby, Springtrap has a smaller than average terror radius for some reason.
Is he OP? Not quite.
Is he Over Designed? Perhaps. In the end though, it's still fun to go against Springtrap since he's very interactable.

Playing a whole set to counter a bad habit of the other side is the saddest thing I've ever heard. Same level than killer playing lightborn to avoid flashsaves abuse, or Iron grasp to avoid sabo squads
Countering a build is part of the game.
Do you complain doing a healing build when you're up against a Plague/Legion?
FYI I didn't say use all of the perks, just use one of them. -
For now, just settle for Borrowed Time / Babysitter / Off the Record
The tunneling eventually goes down overtime, though I can not lie. Springtraps be tunneling extra hard lately.Edit: I didn't say use all three of them, use one of them.
-
Trapper is in a weird state where he dominates when the survivors are somewhat new but gets clapped a lot against experienced players.
The buffs did help but he still overly relies on his Addons to actually be effective, it's kind of the same situation with Myers also. -
There's two ideas I have that could make premonition better.
1: Reduce cooldown to 20/15/10 seconds but it pauses during a chase.
2: The Killer's Aura gets revealed to you for 3/3/3 seconds when activated.
Right now it's usage is pretty limiting.
But if I had to REWORK it.
(New) Premonition
Whenever a survivor is on the hook, this perk activates.
The Killer's Aura occasionally shows to you every 10 seconds for 1/1.5/2 seconds.
This perk then deactivates when there is no hooked survivors. -

They need to fix this. It's been a problem with her since release. They don't understand that you don't have time to redirect your finger 3+ times 👈👇🫵☝️👆👉 to point the stupid dog to where you want it to go. It should've been a functioning mechanic upon release.
Dog's POV while I am pointing at the gen for 10 seconds.
-
I haven't encountered a hacker for a while, unless they've become more subtle in their approach.
-
Plague pretty much destroys every healing build possible in the game so in a way it's a strong compensation for such a powerful counterplay.
Especially when it's Thanatophobia in play.
-
I think people underestimate how disorienting Blindness status effect is.
-
My Idea for Knight buffs is Guards gain 5% increased movement speed once they put down their banner and survivors can only see the orb if it's within 6 meters.

Monkey see pickup. Monkey let go gen. Hook. Monkey go back on gen.
Eruption countered.
Wrong Perk
-
Even when most of the synergy she has are gone, she's still the strongest killer in the game.
Though this makes me nervous because that means she would more likely resort to using slowdown perks.
-
The easiest fix they could do is add a 0.5 cooldown when they stop using their flashlight.
-
It's true, the grind was actually increased not decreased.
-
@Nazzzak said:
Yeah 100% lol but it doesn't bother me much because her chases are at least different to most killers. I kind of enjoy them. It's just mindgames.
There's a lot of maps with low wall loops, you really cannot mindgame her if she can sees you.
Unless she's new and overshoots / undershoots her blinks.

So you want to lower Nurse skill to Trapper level ? Interesting.
What in the world of straw man.
That's not what I meant at all.

If your bar for "doable" in solo que is trapper..I dont know what to tell you. Hes THE worst killer in game.
I know but when I main trapper I usually do fine with him. Hell I even 4k more often than I thought.
But when I'm up against a SWF, I ABSOLUTELY will know and feel it.
-
@pizzaduffyhp90 said:
I still try my best at the game I can't say for the rest of my team but, I'll try to complete the gens or run the nurse as best as I can.
Same thoughts, if I maybe rush gens I could save the team. MAYBE.
-
@BrokenSouI said:
Solo que as a whole sucks against ALL killers. Why is thidls specifically about nurse again ?
Not true.
Trapper for example can be someone fairly played against with just Soloque.
Spirit and Blight against Soloque is chaotic but at least it's fun.
But Nurse? Everyone just like, gives up. Or is running around trying to think of a plan while someone gets to stage 2 on their hook.
-
@KolbyKolbyKolby said:
Even in a SWF we'll just one hook out. There's no fun to be had in a nurse match.
I feel you, even though I don't play with friends. I just want out lmao.
-
@lauraa said:
you never know with solo q.
you could get a God Nurse, but that God Nurse could end up getting clowned on because they were unfortunate enough to face the Blendette/Nea Urban+Self Care Spine Chill in a corner squad and they just get absolutely ghosted.
The biggest issue I run into with Nurse is managing survivor morale. Teams seem to break down rather quickly. At least with a Bubba, more often than not people will stay on hook to give their death some meaning to help the others escape, but with Nurse it's like "nah i'm out"
Your right, my Morale breaks down really quickly when it comes to her and that's hard to do that to me.
The sheer intimidation factor makes teams give up and it annoys me cause we usually cannot get normal matches.
Soloque life hard.
-
@fulltonon said:
What, are you trying to survive in solo que?
My friends prefer to play Valorant so I torture myself by playing it Soloque for the last 4 years.
And when I hear Nurse's screech I cuss audibly cause I know I'm totally going to get smashed.

Dredge Strengths and Weaknesses (I Love Dredge)
Strengths:
Strong map presence.
Decent anti loop with teleport return.
Nightfall is actually very disorienting to survivors.
Nightfall makes survivors super easy to see while making Dredge hard to see.
Weaknesses:
Transitional looping is effective if Dredge tries to use his remnant.
Spreading out makes it harder for Dredge to keep the pressure.
Staying healthy starves Dredge's nightfall charging speed.
Running into his remnant during nightfall greatly takes away time from an active nightfall.
-
Problem With Unique Characters:
- Predictability
- Versatility
- Meta Hogs
1: When you see a survivor you absolutely know what to expect. Catching the killer off guard with a perk is actually one of the underrated tactics for survivor.
2: Survivors would become super specialized, which leads to my point 3.
3: Certain survivors will be favored over others.
-
He's a noob stomping killer, once you actually go against survivors who can mitigate the madness you'll definitely will notice.
At best you should run at least 2 different gen suppression perks when playing Doctor.
-
Made me wish I brought Brutal Strength.
-
Nurse is kind of in a weird position of being a relic of DbD's past when everything was op as hell.
-
It's a vicious cycle, if you don't run meta you often get stomped by competent players.
You usually can do a meme build but everyone almost always has that one strong perk for security.
Right now the Devs are doing something massive to the game during the 6th Anniversary Stream, I wonder what will it be.
-
To add additional context: I can play Mass Effect Legendary Edition with no problems, but Dead by Daylight is quite literally killing my laptop.
-
Yep can confirm, this bug is widespread.
It happened to me and it happened to some others while I was playing killer.

Why not? There have been perks that counter other perks for some time.
Like boil over and iron grip, or stridor vs iron will.
It's all part of the gamble.
The thing is it made a mediocre perk even worse.
I am okay with stronger perks being countered but mediocre perks being countered just slaps people in the face.
Like I unironically tried to make Solidary work, obviously it failed a lot.
-
It's possible, in the recent lore cinematics it seems like the Observer is losing control.

@Killmaster said:
I'd rather players be allowed to decide each character's background for themselves.
Hard Agree
The reason why multiples of the same survivor is allowed in game is because the canon is there's multiple versions of that same survivor.

Oh yeah...
I forgot Artist was a thing.
Just played one match as her. I got 0 hooks. High A...
Well, she is not exactly a cut and dry playstyle. She's a bit complex than that.
In reality she's pretty strong if you practiced enough, I sure have.
I mean you just played one match with her, that's like calling nurse weak because you got wrecked horribly in your first try.
-
I will play Sadako more once I get the perks I actually want on her.

Best part is when you are near some object or pallet and you swing and you are aiming (even with your camera) on that Survivor and you have that feeling it should hit but for some reason you hit that pallet or object you didn't even aim for or look at.
I lunged one time and I ended up spinning to hit the Claudette I didn't see hiding in the bush.
-
I work a full time job, I got no time to spend the next 2-3 minutes being camped to death.
-
Crossed out Twins?
Yeah their annoying to control but god damn their potential is incredibly high. Like god damn if you played against good Twins you'll realize how oppressive they are.
-
The main factor is SWF.
The stats do not consider if SWF is in play, there's a big difference between full solo groups and partial to full swf groups.
So right now you cannot really technically gage right now.
-
I say the regression penalty is a bit too severe, it's a perk that's suppose to help newer players but the downside is pretty bad.
-
Complex games can get away with simple perks.
But Simple games absolutely need complex perks if it's a asymmetrical game.
Without perks, addons and offerings.
You just have Gens, Windows, Pallets, Breakable Walls, Dull Totems, Chests, Closets, Hooks and Healing.
Then with killers they might add 1-2 mechanics to the match.
You can't exactly deviate that much from such a core gameplay feature. It's a very strict gameplay style in fact.
The powerful upside is it's easy to learn it, the downside is you might hit the skill ceiling too early.
Perks that make the gameplay different enough that it's noticeable allows stronger player retention. Kind of like endless replayability.
But the downside to that is you have to consistently balance everything since a single change can cause a chain reaction.
It's now a battle between if we should simplify it enough or keep adding new volatile complexities to the game.
-
Eh, dunno.
They just, make it and hope it works.

I agree that complaining about this perk is ridiculous, but blind bullying? Are you serious? I have to ask.. lol
Don't pretend blinding the killer constantly is a favorite hobby of those survivors who base their whole personality on being toxic for the sake of doing it. There is no one else who would complain about it.

Eh, Small Game was a super niche perk and it was destroyed for no reason. Why should Lightborn be any different?
Destroyed?
It got better!
What are you even talking about?!
It made trapper feel like crap cause for whatever the reason perks back then used to directly target bear traps.
-
@TeabaggingGhostface said:
I've seen people call lightborn a perk that completely remove a mechanic in the game
Huh, kinda like iron will
Exactly, I use Iron Will because it's consistent and always useful.
Lightborn is a hit or a miss. 60% estimate of my matches people are not using any kind of flashlight or flashbang.
-
@Huge_Bush said:
You must be new around here. Players from both sides complain about everything they can. Anything to buff their chosen role and nerf their opponents.
On Twitter and Reddit it's spreading around that "Lightborn" is overpowered. Who in the right mind thinks that.
Spirit for one had good arguments on why she wasn't fun to go against which they fixed later on. Now people have zero excuse when being destroyed by a spirit player.
But Lightborn? A reworked perk that ended up still being a niche perk.
It only counters Flashbangs and Flashlights, both are which are not exactly that practical to use every time and is more of a nuisance than an actual threat at times.
