Huge buff to Tinkerer.

Hmm, what would be a good generic argument that can be copy/pasted....
- Camping has its uses in later stages of the game.
- Your suggestion is a broad sweep that impacts all stages of the game, that removes the importance of the late-game use of this camping.
- Unless the distance is significant, any range-based punishment will be abused, either by being too small to be useful for Survivors, or too large to be accommodating for Killers.
- Your suggestion isn't noticeable by either party in its implementation so it would be hard to visualize these proposed limitations.
-
Some5thing seems... off. I am unsettled.

Fictional context matters too. The cosmetic is not racist. Racist actions are racist. Finding racism where it doesn't exist is a problem.
Actually, regarding Fictional and IRL context, Ebony Mori's initially allowed Killers to Mori a Survivor without having to Hook them even once. Which fits with the Fictional context of DBD and was only really a problem for players that were not able to suspend their disbelief and find fun in the atmosphere of the game. Do you think it was a good change to nerf that?

Fictional context matter too, I agree, but it takes a backseat to IRL context. Especially in a multiplayer game where you're not the one in control of what other people do.

I'm going to give my opinion about it regardless of how privileged you think you are in denying me my opinion. Period. This change is affecting everyone who earned these cosmetics. I'm not denying that some people used it in a hateful way. What I am saying is the removal of the cosmetics to prevent a few people from doing that is the wrong approach to this in my opinion. The cosmetic itself isn't the problem here. It isn't intrinsically racist. Context and intent matters in all things and when these cosmetics were made there was nothing wrong with them being in the game then and there is nothing wrong with them now. Finding racism where it doesn't exist is a problem (talking about the cosmetic itself here). It hinders creative work because there will always be that fear of someone seeing something made as offensive when it really isn't. If a few people being trolls with something in a game is enough to cause the entire removal of something that a lot of players earned then the future of gaming is going to have a lot of problems. People that do this will always be around. What are we going to do? Design everything in such a way that makes it impossible for things like this to happen? If a white person plays as a black character in a video game is that a problem?
Historical context matters too. Same ######### happened to the Swastika. It's why we don't have any Swastika charms.

This issue was definitely mishandled. Unfortunately it is another example of a company folding to the current woke culture we are wrapped up in. They should had handed out bans and moved on with it. It's easier to comply with the demands of the woke mob than it is to hold your ground. Sad to see, this is what can alienate your fan base and drive people away from your brand and exactly why I haven't watched an NFL game in 2 years and will never return.
I mean that just means you’re more concerned about tribalism rather than the game or its mechanics itself.
So, yeah, the NFL is probably better without you, DBD probably will be too.
-
Oooh!
Now this would be a wonderful candidate for a Killer specific use for the Beta tab, as the added information is purely client-side.
What would the information be? Just an icon? Or a hue shift to be more akin to the view while phasing? (Is the screen any different while phasing, or am I just thinking Freddy?)
-
Use slowdown Perks like Blight uses his Serum. Ingrain them into your DNA to get that sweet sweet gatekeeper score. Slug survivors often early in the Trial and use a Perk like Infectious fright to get the maximum possible per minute Gatekeeper emblem score while you still have a high number of gens.
Tunnel the living hell out of Survivors that get unhooked to prevent them from getting Healed a health state and reducing your malicious score. If they have BT that just gives you an extra Malicious point, and if they don't you get to hook them again for more malicious points. The short "chase" nets you bonus Chaser points.
Play as scummy as you can to get Survivors to disconnect and allow you to snowball into a 4K as often as possible to get Gold Devout. Devout only gets significant points for Kills and D/C's. Trying to get 9 Hooks is worthless if it trashes your Gatekeeper/Malicious score.

kinda.
1 stack = 1 Random survivor affected
2 Stacks = 2 Random survivors affected and so on.
by the time you get to 5 stacks all survivors are affected and skill checks no longer give notification. It’s a useless idea anyway, I forgot about color blind players. I’m just going to throw the whole idea out the window.
It stands to reason you could change the physical shape of "cursed" skillcheck zones rather than using color alone.
And this actually does make the Perk more interesting. I had thought you simply wanted old ruin across all 4 Survivors at 0 stacks at the onset of the game. But a Per Survivor effect would be interesting.
Hex: Huntress Lullaby
- While Hex: Huntress Lullaby is active, Hooking a Survivor Curses that Survivor and grants a Token.
- Cursed Survivors lose x/y/z% Generator progress when hitting a Good Skillcheck.
- Hex: Huntress Lullaby grows in power each time you Hook a Survivor, gaining 1 Token, and affecting Repair and Healing Skill Checks:
- 1 Token: shortens the time between the Warning sound and the Skill check by -14 %.
- 2 Tokens: shortens the time between the Warning sound and the Skill check by -28 %.
- 3 Tokens: shortens the time between the Warning sound and the Skill check by -42 %.
- 4 Tokens: shortens the time between the Warning sound and the Skill check by -56 %.
- 5 Tokens: disables the Warning sound.

Or the devs could just simply remove the bloodpoint cap
There needs to be a reason to use, rather than horde, earned passive gameplay BP.
Challenge BP can be saved up (There's the question of how to incentivize a player to spend it rather than horde it to flaunt big numbers), but Trial BP should absolutely be spent. Part of that is a desire to prevent waste with the cap, you can also make arguments for wanting more impactful uses for BP in the first place like making addons more impactful.

But that’s the beauty of it. With little to no skill check sound, survivors will have to hit great skill checks in order gain progress on a gen.
It would be useless if you had to have max stacks to gain its effect and besides, the killer still has to hook survivors in order to get tokens. So not the same at the start as before.
So, to clarify, you want Hex:Huntress Lullaby to literally just have old ruin integrated into it?
Buffing old ruin with stacks to reduce skillcheck noise notifications so it's even more oppressive on new players?
-
This is a case of machine specific instructions being unintuitive given things we take for common sense.
- If the wiggle criteria is met, button prompt appears.
- Remove Button prompt
- Go to Step 1
It makes sense that if the wiggle prompt disappears, that the button prompt also disappears, but that needs to be spelled out explicitly to a machine.
In this case, the wording of the description could probably be improved.
-
Old Ruin was a noob stomper with little effect on Vets that the Killer had to put 0 effort into.
Unless it only happens at max stacks of Huntress lullaby, that's a no from me.

I can't really see the Volatile being run around trucks and stopped by windows and pallets considering that they're very adept at parkour.
If you think that the Survivor needs a parkour Perk too, just do this:
Grappling Hook: Press the Item Button while Performing a Fast Vault to attach a Grappling Hook to the Vault. This causes the Exhausted Status for 60/50/40s. Pressing the Use Item button while the Grapple persists pulls you back into a Fast vault in the other direction. Exceeding X meters without using the grapple, becoming Injured, or the Killer walking into the Grapple cord will sever it.
(Take Pinhead/Deathslinger Chain and turn it into a Survivor Exhaustion Perk)

Speaking as someone with a full meta build on both Killer and Survivor because I main 2 Killers and only main 1 Survivor, it's just going to bring noobs up to the options that Vets have faster.
And even if you have a full meta build, you need to have the skill to utilize it effectively. (Apart from deadlock, that's literally just free stall)

A while ago I would have agreed that would have been a smart choice.
Now I just think that it's a mechanic that simply doesn't have any possible interaction from the Survivors side. (In addition to the chase duration condition being purely relegated to Killer input)

I read your comment wrong lol, that could Happen but you'd have to do it when the killer is using their ability, when doctor is trying to shock, if you time it right you burn him, that kind of thing but you'd have to be picture perfect, that would encourage speed add-ons
Or something with Bloodlust.

I still don't think that Killers Powers should interact with Flashlights at all
It should be a non-Flashlight related effect. (EG: Running into a Crow doesn't even apply a Swam, looking at Wraith breaks him out of his Uber-cloak)
Ligthburn would need to be integrated into a generic mechanic that is applied to all Killers, rather than only a small subset.

Of course, I'm not actually sure how savings accounts generate funds for the interest they provide to their customers, but the idea of monopolization of investment sources (if the Banks invest savings account cash), probably isn't good either.
-
@Idontknowtbh said:
So like a savings account?
In terms of savings accounts the concern would be the advocation of stagnant spending in order to maximize interest return, which doesn't actually promote cash flow in an economy. (Fortunately, most people are impulse spenders)
Investing would be the better goal.

In this case the MVP would just be being able to hover over your Bloodpoints and seeing how many are from earned BP, and how many are from bonus BP.
Trying to create a learning tool for "money" investment could be an additional nice to have later on.

You're talking about a black issue, as someone who presumably is not black. So no you don't have a say in the matter, yes I do have the privilege to do so because I am black. You don't have a say in black issues if you are not black. You can either you can show your support for progress handling them or be against it, period.
There exists racial bias in the world, that is a given as the topic even exists.
But I can't help but find it funny as well as depressing that you're literally advocating for the worst parts of White Privilege under the guise of Black Privilege: That skin color determines what you can and cannot participate in.
Is there content that a non-black American born person is not going to be as knowledgeable about given that they haven't explicitly experienced the same things as a black American born person? Yes.
Does that mean they should be barred from discussions with each other to try and understand one another's viewpoint in order to become more knowledgeable and more empathetic about that subject? No.

Thanks for the correction, Mandy, I honestly thought it was a single pool.
Ok, well if there's actually two pools of points then I could get behind the original post's suggestion that if you mouse over the Bloodpoint total it shows you the subtotals of the two pools.
That is a much more to the point description.
-
Back then it was: If the Killer is stomping I can keep an eye out for Hatch. "I have a fallback objective to look out for if things go south."
Now it's: If the Killer is stomping we have to wait until all but one of us dies and then it's a race, where the Killer has the speed advantage and advantage of not worrying about needing to be stealthy. "Pound Gens or get wrecked."
-
Hmm. I'm not sure if this would address the MMR gap for Killers wherin they need to realize that in a 1v1 chase they need to figure out if they have the skill to down someone or if they will be looped for 5 gens and the skill of the other Survivors is generally meaningless. (The skill to recognize if they should continue/drop chase)
-
I am quite disheartened that they decided to scrap Old Freddy's mechanic instead of trying to work around it.
I mean, is this a museum of horror? Or skins on a framework?

hmm this one is a slightly more complicated one. It's technically 2 pools, one for bonus BP - so login rewards, grade reset etc and one from earned BP, so stuff from in-game.
You can be at the BP cap of 1 million with a mixture of bonus BP + earned BP. For example you're sitting at 1million BP, but 300k was from login bonuses, you can still earn BP in game until you're at that 1 million earned BP cap...when you reach that, you will stop earning BP.
Bloodpool - 1,000,000 Bloodpoints
- Fresh Blood - 700,000 Bloodpoints
- Old Blood (placeholder name) - 300,000 Bloodpoints
Of course, the method to display that information needs workshopping. However, the jist is this: You have no method of knowing your amounts in either Pool, until you hit the earned BP cap. Even when you do hit the BP cap, you need to have prior knowledge that there is a hard-cap on earned BP of 1,000,000. If you do not have that knowledge, you may think it's a bug as there is no indication that you are "capped out" on earned BP.

I don't remember that moment when I finally unlocked perk XY, and if I would remember, probably it wouldn't be a good memory, would remind me all the grind frustrations.
But I guess they could create for you a hard mode, where the perks aren't unlocked automatically. If you select this hard mode option, you could get a shiny icon next to your name or a new bloody cosmetic so that you are happy.
All I can say is that I've gotten bored with Sandbox games much faster if I have unlimited access to console commands than if it has any form of structure.
And DBD isn't like Garry's Mod where creating your own content is the primary draw of the game.

It's not ambiguous, there's only one pool of points, not two. It's just that when you go to add points to that pool you may or may not be able to go over 1 million depending on the source.
You could refer to the uncapped BP as just the "Reserve Bloodpool", or "Old Blood"

Not sure what are you talking about.
I just want to play this game with killer / survivor I bought, with a build that I want, without the need to spend thousands of hours to get the perks needed for that build. Not sure what you want to beat here... You can beat the opponent in the match or finish the rift... but grinding for unlocking perks on killers/survivors I paid for? Thanks no. The current system discourages buying DLCs.
My suggestion addresses this issue and also addresses or points out other possible issues.
Meaningful interaction. Invest time for a payout.
Does the current BP system have scalability problems? You bet your ass it does. But automagically unlocking the Perks with only a cash infusion isn't the best way to develop memories with the game.

I see that they are increasing the grade rewards, but IMO it is not the right approach and potentially will lead to problems.
Go beat Skyrim twice, once with 1-hit Kill godmode and once normally and let me know which one you found most memorable/spent the most time with.

I don’t think that’s quite how the bloodpool works, there’s not two pools of points, only one pool, so there’s nothing to distinguish. If your endgame trial points and mission/Rift points would go over 1 million it brings the pool to 1 million and stops. Otherwise points from promotions and grade rewards just add to the pool with no limit.
That's a perfect example of the ambiguity with the current system regardless of how it actually works at the moment.
"There is nothing to distinguish"
Leading immediately into distinguishing criteria:
"If your endgame trial points and mission/Rift points would go over 1 million it brings the pool to 1 million and stops. Otherwise points from promotions and grade rewards just add to the pool with no limit."
