I can understand hag taking chases away from survivors but i've never understood how this applies to deathslinger. Yes, dodging his spear might be a 50/50 but once you are injured even if you are speared you can play around predropping pallets so he can't finish you off even if he catches you.
my only issue with deathslinger is that their never seems to be any time between chase & ADS shooting. Where when you play Huntress she has a wind up time before she can launch off a hatchet.

So earlier I had a match where I was playing the doctor and I thought the match went okay. I didn't kill anyone, but I had fun. And then one of the survivors sent me a party request, and here I am thinking. Oh boy can't wait for them to rub it in my face they beat me, so I joined it for the heck it cause I was gonna tell them good game (cause it really was) and then start saying I'm a 13 year old [Bad word]. I'm just like wth why are they being like this, and they keep trying to get a rise out of me or make angry and I'm just sitting here going this is ridiculous. So I told them good game and said have fun being toxic to other people.
TL:DR
Played as doctor survivors invited me to party after match, and we're complete [Bad Word] about winning.
I blame early dbd streamers and even current the for popularizing the whole thing(obviously not all of them). The amount of toxic videos that came out even back in the early time of dbd was pretty nuts. People try to emulate this get slapped upside the head by the killer and get mad, going off on them in post chat.
Clicking the flashlight and such is labelled toxic because that's the way it was used in the beginning samething with giving someone the middle finger. Yes it's a strat to get killers to chase you now, but they chase you cause they find it as if you are giving them the finger otherwise the strat wouldn't work in the first place and they would continue to just smash their original target.

Not our problem if the killer then comes on the forums complaining about how broken bt and ds is. It also isn't our fault if we choose to play in a swf team to combat killers who might tunnel or camp.
exactly this if OP wants to play the slippery slop game this is what it usually boils down too. The logic of forcing 2 perk slots to be 100% occupied isn't really an argument to come and try to justify the way you play. The problem is most of the perks aren't competitive with the meta not even close, and the ones that can work in very specific situations you'll see in streamer meme like Monto trying to get metal of man to work

Well, there's no difference today. What the 3.7.0 update did, was to break matchmaking even more.
If you've been on reddit / forums these past few days. You'll see pictures of ranks that look like rainbows at the end of every match... Even I have screenshots like these...
The rainbow rank thing has been a issue for a while even before 3.7. Use to be posts on here with tons of screenshots showing the rainbow matches

Anyone asking for the gap between solo and swf is asking to make the game easier. No one is forced to pair up into 4 man teams. The game wasn't designed to have communication, if you want to bridge the game then the developers need to rework the game from the ground up.
As for totems, you are not obligated to feel relaxed knowing that you did all 5 totems. There is supposed to be some doubt so you could possibly waste some time looking for totems that may have already been cleansed. You are just making excuses to make things easier for solo play. Sweaty Killers are going to play sweaty no matter what. Survivors searching for totems will not change that.
Sorry "pressured" a better word for you? Their are plenty of people who end up grouping with people because of the huge advantages swf have. If the game wasn't designed for communication they sure send mixed signals coming out with SWF literally a few weeks after release. Not all killers just play sweaty because they want too its the state the game is in with gen speed and nothing motivating people into secondary objectives.
It's not as if a counter magically tells survivors where the totems are it doesn't mean they are going to even find it before dying. Not sure how doing 5 totems is relaxing considering the amount of time that gets added to the game searching for totems. Obviously you have a more cynical view on this so we'll have to agree to disagree.

You don’t need a totem counter since it doesn’t require skill to count. Everyone who is asking for a totem counter is asking for the devs to make the game easier, with less risk, and less responsibility for players.
The randomness in games is a good thing. The problem isn’t the totems, the problem is bad teammates. If you don’t like the randoms you’re paired up against, you could always make friends and play swf.
I do play in a swf and I play solo but I think closing the gap between swf and solo is important instead of forcing everyone to pair up into 4 man groups which gets complained about to no end as is. You're over simplifying what I said, It doesn't take skill to count but you have no idea what totems were already broken by other solos.
It has nothing to do with "less risk" noed counters gen rushers because they are not actively searching for totems. Placing a totem counter would entice people to keep looking and not pound generators so I'm not sure how it makes it "easier" for survivors if anything it makes it easier on the killer because now they have more time to search and hook without having to get sweaty.
-
@AvisDeene said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1225737#Comment_1225737
You're not supposed to know. There needs to be some uncertainty since destroying a totem completely removes a killers perk. You can always wait till gens are finished if counting is too difficult and then just cleanse the lit totem. Not everything in the game needs to be dumbed-down.
Has nothing to do with "dumbing it down" you're comparing randomness to skill as if counting a totem requires skill. A full 4 man team has this information without a totem counter, and so what if they "know the count" it forces people to look for totems if they still have 1 sneaky totem they haven't found instead of gen rushing.
-
@DelsKibara said:
NOED already has a counter, it's called cleansing bones. Everytime I see NOED pop up I always say it's my fault for not doing bones, not the killer's fault for bringing a powerful endgame perk.
I could agree with this if they had a totem counter in game since solos have no way to tell each other how many totems they've done.
-
honestly its atleast a small change without affecting the power of the totem I'd be behind it.

lmfao ah yes, you can tell from my screenshot none of my matches are Vs SWF. Of course, as expected, a killer comes in here and tells me that my back to back matches with 0 dodging were just bad survivors and that none of them were swf, and yes, people dc when they get stomped on, you're acting as if the DCs are the reason I won.
I'm sorry that someone who this forum often labels a survivor main is just better at killer than the killers, and pretending like theres some huge skill gap between purple and red ranks is laughable.
OP didn't even unlock the grand sacrifice till Jan 12th of this year and their earliest achievement is sept of 2019 really doubt their ability to critique the both sides especially when most of their survivor achievements have been recent and rank 5.
-
I don't see how it gives any survivors the upper hand. Your not punishing their ability to communicate only the speed at which they complete actions which will punish solo's stuck with them.
-
This has been suggested many times. The problem is that it still does affect a solo if you have 3 people with a debuff and 1 without because they are essentially on the same side.

They’ll never be able to buff solo to swf if they don’t add voice chat. Even then if they don’t, many suggestions have been made to improve solo , but the devs don’t implement it because it would be too much information. Literally what do they think swf is?? Just because some don’t use comms they’re gonna dismiss solos even though a majority of swf use comms. When they dismiss solos because of their own interpretation of things they’re also dismissing killers because you can’t buff killers with it not affecting solos. Like what’s so hard to understand about this. Why are you guys too scared to move forward with some changes that’ll help the game health overall?
Even if they dont want to give us voice chat I've been saying for a long time they should add kindred as baseline. The biggest issue with solo's is your efficiency is terrible. 3 solos could all be running for the save because they have no idea what the other two are even doing or all 3 don't go for a save cause they assume the others will get it.

@TheRockstarKnight said:
The only reason is a meta one; the devs have said they want Survivors to be 'relatable' to players and, to them, that means all Survivors have to be from the modern era.
So no cowboys, no cavemen, no androids, no wizards, no futuristic space explorers, no vikings, and, worst of all, no knights.
Because, y'know I'm sure tons of people 'relate' to Shirtless David, P3 Claudette, and Bunny Min; which is obviously the main reason why people play them.
but...does that mean I'll never get Warwick Davis's Willow as a survivor?!

The game becomes fun when you can mindgame killers at loops, make plays with exhaustion perks and reliably get spins where the Killer ends up hitting a wall and looking stupid.
I play a lot of both Killer and Survivor. The most fun thing on both roles is when you have a good chase where both people make big plays. You end the game both being like dang you were good GG
I agree people like to make it out like all survivors want for a good game is to escape. That's never been the case for me I get more enjoyment out of big plays or being outplayed on a loop by a killer. People vomiting that diarrhea gets annoying after a while "Survivors just want killers to stand in corners and stare at the wall"

There were two toolboxes on that squad and one looked like a Commodius with a Brand New Part. Those are designed to make gens go faster. Should have not brought in any toolboxes if you wanted to make a point about gen speeds. I don't doubt that the same SWF team with the same killer would still all escape without them, and I know gens can still pop quickly when a team splits up, but there's too many variables here.
Yeah I take issue with the toolboxes and such also, they stacked the odds super in their favor to get the results that they wanted. In most games you can find a way to stack something to gain a cheese advantage it reminds me of hammer bros in monster hunter world to break shara's head super fast when it was meant to take more then 4 dudes with hammers whaling on it like one of those old cartoons with 4 guys hitting a railroad spike

@Fibijean said:
I would recommend that you try hooking them in the early game instead of slugging. Hooking is actually much more threatening from the survivor perspective during the early game, and gets you closer to your objective. If you get two hooks before the second gen pops, you're actually not doing too badly.
Ya my rule of thumb when im playing is if we managed to get the first gen off before the first down were making good progress. The hooking is more what I pay attention to as a survivor not the slugging.

When the killer chase me, minimum of 2 gens are done, even more.. When I'm hidden the killer patrol the Gens, I don't understand what yall are saying about hiding in dbd lok
That's great but if you can completely avoid the killer while hes in your area for a minute you can hop back on a generator. Someone's got to get chased eventually but your better off with the other 3 avoiding the killer and finishing gens. You are structuring your point like you are the only person on your team their are 7 gens on the map the killer would be stupid to hang where your at the whole time while the other 3 are plowing out the gens.
My games this is pretty much what happens
working on a gen but spine chill goes off oh crap use urban to go about 15 yards away from the gen quicker without leaving a scratch mark.
killer comes to kick gen looks for me but im not int he immediate area so he has to go back to patrolling or waste a ton of time hoping to find me.
Killer leaves to continue the patrol I hop back on my generator and finish it.
90% of the time this is how it goes for me and their are people that would contribute more by being stealthy than running the killer around. Their are people who aren't good at looping.

exactly its like peoples hatred for urban evasion but if used correctly you can close distance on someone being hooked without moving like a snail or being able to crouch around a tree that a killer is checking. The skill got a bad rap cause of all the wall clingers lol

Few words: borrowed time+die hard + ######### bug with surv between hook and hooked surv. Also if these are not enough, u have ds if hooked again. If a rescuer is hooked, just repeat previous and don't forget to tbag in the exit gate and say "ez game, killer is a baby/tunneller/camper" (choose one or EVERY)
UW
ok? and I've seen people that literally stare at you and beat you on the hook then talk crap after the game so I'm not sure what point your trying to make about what I said. Not everyone runs those perks and I'm one of those who don't.
-
Those situations can go both ways. You can spend the whole game avoiding the killer dodging then at ETC get downed and camped, or your first hook the killer decides to hang near you till you die waiting for new people or your teammates are epic potatoes and don't even bother to go for a save. The issue with this game is their are too many variables that are affected by how each side plays.
-
maybe this means we'll be getting a koolaid man killer :D

Are you scared of being 1v1 by an injured survivior or what?
killers already sit there if your the last person to be hooked. Give them a chance to get off I don't see it playing out any differently then what got you on that hook in the first place. Literally would just be giving killers a free hook
-
I'm obviously aware it shows me I already said I use it but not the other 3 players who may not have it. also who probably dont have it. "Play killer" is a really ######### excuse just because sometimes you get "super coordinated solos" is no way indicative of the norm. Most solo games aren't like that unless your playing at rank 1 and even then you get plenty of issues with multiple people running to hook because they have no clue what their other teammates are doing.
I find it funny that people complain about the "crutch perks" survivors have but then turn around and give suggestions such as yours. Btw if I should just "use discord" I don't see the problem then with either of my suggestions your way just requires more steps same result.

Purple is on the middle so sometimes it only takes 3-5 minutes.. However it depends on what time you play.. If you play in the morning, the queue time is longer because there are little players playing the game but at night, you'll have no problem finding matches because there are more players at night.. Still whether what time you play, the queue times was not that bad before dedicated servers even hit live.. not to mention the pretty bad matchmaking now where potato killers are being matched with god looper red ranks.. Of course what do you expect from potato killers after the match? They won't even get their 1 Kill especially if they are using M1 Killers on Big ass Maps like cornfield or mother's dwelling. And you can hear these devs saying they'll nerf more Killer Slow gen Perks(Thana, Dying Light, PGTW) of all things so the survivors won't be holding m1 all the time.. These Devs are delusional at best..
I play all different hours since I work from home honestly. I've played at 4am est with my friend from Estonia and late at night. Not once have I ever had a queue take longer then a quick trip to the bathroom or getting a drink. I've felt like its been more losses then wins since the patch for me and a friend getting alot more excuses for playing dirty usually blaming the devs. I did have a doctor get super pissy and start smacking and camping everyone because a "jake broke his hook so now we all have to suffer for it". I'm sitting at reds atm is the queues have still been the same.
Maybe solo or full 4 mans are having a longer wait or location from dedicated server.

Well, the sports examples and other games examples are not killer or survivor related, they show an usual behaviour of both sides.
This part implies im also talking about killers that complain: "instead of being a crying baby about how other manage to win a match, i rather get better and beat those killers, as much as "toxic" survivors".
But i see the text looks like sided. Its cause in my experienca as survivor and killer, up to this day, i never got a killer complaining about anything, while I get offenses almost daily from survivors. So I have more examples of that.
But I know killers cry about meta perks of survivors. Just never happened to me.
Those must also stop doing that and learn to play better.
My own experiences as survivor I get alot of excuses after the match from killers. Literally had a doctor complaining yesterday that if the game was still p2p he wouldn't of lost as if the survivors are now somehow the hosts.

But they buffed Kindred! If you want that information so bad, bring Kindred! And as for teammates, there's always a possibility they'll be potatoes. That's a risk you run in any multiplayer game.
I already do bring kindred. Being potatoes has nothing to do with information you don't have access to. There is no way to communicate even with a predefined hotkey to say "im going for the save", also most multiplayer games have some form of communication so its not really applicable here. You don't get "2 minutes for generators" if you have no clue the killers even hanging at the hook in the first place or what your teammates are planning so that's a pretty weak point. Either everyone needs kindred build in or their needs to be some sort of communication so the person with kindred can tell the others.
-
@AAAAA said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/119356/camping
It's not cheating though. If someone's getting facecamped, that's 2 minutes of gens for the other three. If everyone is doing gens that's at least 3 gens, and that's without toolboxes or Prove Thyself. And devs can't really do anything about it. Killers lose emblem points for "proximity to hooked survivor" but that's it. Plus, if a killer knows someone is nearby, they'd be idiots to leave.
my issue with this logic is that it does make sense on paper but you have no idea what the other two are up to and to find out the killers camping you could potentially waste time running across the map just to run all way back to keep working on it. If the devs want to make kindred base kit then sure its a valid point but not without it.

I work for my place in this game. I do generators, I go for unhooks. I do everything I can for the team. If the other 3 idiots don't know how to work a generator for once, that's not MY fault and I shouldn't be punished for it because "buh, muh fer keh"
Well why should the killer have to give up points because YOUR teammates were bad hence punishing the killer out of BP that they earned. If you hate potatoes play in a 4 man I play with a friend as a duo and we get plenty of potatoes never raged at the killer like it was their fault for my team dweeting it up.
