Who is or has recently stopped playing and why?
I want to give the community a thread to express why they have stopped playing or why they plan to stop playing - from both killer and survivor mains.
Personally, when 2v8 ends, it is very unlikely I will boot up again until the next 2v8. While 2 killers 1 survivor is not fun, the mode IMO is still more enjoyable than 1v4. I am scared to see what these 57 perks they are changing will be and what damage they will cause this time all in the name of diminishing returns which had very little effect on the game.
The MMR changes missed the mark.
The repeated broken promises over the last year and a half are unbelievable.
The Judgment was less than thought out all while trying to gaslight the community into the "well you designed it" belief. No, we did not design this.
Overall, I just don't have fun on survivor anymore. Killer is absolutely boring because it's just too easy especially now with the MMR changes.
These are just my opinions that I am voicing while giving the opportunity for other people to do the same. Not really here for a debate. Maybe the devs will read through this and see all voices in one place then maybe actually listen to some of it. I feel like its a futile attempt but there was a point where I loved this game and I would like that to come back.
Comments
I'm never crazy about these posts because BHVR's player count is ridiculously healthy, but here goes:
Overall, the things I enjoy I find less and less enjoyable as time goes on, while the things I dislike about the game I find more and more aggravating.
More detailed reasons:
1: I really like 2v8. I like Chaos Shuffle. Event depends on the event. So if I'm playing regular 1v4 I'm thinking 'there's multiple superior versions of this game, why am I playing this version?'.
2: A general disagreement with the game direction over the past year or so. I feel like for the years before 2025 they were improving the game, albeit slowly and taking far more stumbles than were needed, but they were working out some of the things that were major game problems. I feel like they are backslipping though into the elements of what I think of as the game at its worst.
3: The way they approach marketing I find more and more annoying. As an example, the perk shake up, we got some perks as a teaser, more to come. Once upon a time I would have found it enjoyable I think, now I'm in the mood of 'just tell us already'. The dribs and drabs of info come off more as exploitative than communicative.
Nothing going on. Just finnished my 10th p100 and for some reason can't think of who to put points into next.
2v8 isn't a big enough bp gain to drive me to keep playing either.
Ontop of that i finnished the rift maybe 4 weeks ago. So theres no reason to do dailies either.
Once you hit the point where you've got everything you need there isn't really a drive to play "for fun" as this game tends to randomise weather you have a fun day or a miserable day with a higher chance of miserable.
And of all the characters in the game, there isn't one that stands out as an ultimate favorite to a point where i'd log on to dbd just to play that character.
So my reason is prettymuch 'End Game Burnout'
I still play when a new page of quests arrives as im trying to get the queen xeno banner, but i've been playing allot of other games like Parasite eve 1-2, and not touching dbd all week
im currently taking a break (outside of weekly bloodpoints and the occasional codes) as the game is simply too fast and not fun enough for me to invest my time into it. Why play dbd when i can play games that actually reward my time and are fun instead of frustrating like dbd. im also mainly waiting for frank stone next year to fully jump back in (wil get art tho when he drops)
Honestly, even if 100 people all came to this thread and said they have stopped playing and gave their reasons why, it wouldn’t make any difference. The only “voice” that really matters to the devs is player count. As long as that remains historically high, which it still is now, they’re going to keep doing their own thing for the most part. This is why we keep getting changes that nobody asked for while updating older content and frequently requested changes from the community get ignored for years. Devs know they can do basically whatever they want and the players will keep playing and spending money on the game.
blob:https://forums.bhvr.com/13489dd7-ee19-469d-96c7-319342cadcc5 There was an error displaying this embed.I've stopped playing solo queue survivior because people DC or give up.
My friends stopped playing overall, so I don't have available swf teams.
Killer queue is too long (especially while 2v8).
Survivability for the surviviors has decreased.
Losing game at 4-5 gens didn't bring me joy.
Killer games became too easy.
I am joining survivior queue only if some friends invite me to play, which doesn't happen much lately.
I am playing killer only if queue times is no longer than 1.5 minutes. I don't enjoy sitting in lobby.
I gave up a few months ago and haven't played since. Match quality was already low. Same killers every game and non existent MMR. The current MMR rework has not encouraged me to come back. I didn't even play 2v8 or do the last few rifts which was a first for me. That's a whole separate issue. I've played DBD since 2020 and I think this year was the least amount of fun I have ever had playing the game. It's clear that the current direction of the game just isn't for me. I will keep track of the game. If there is a major shift in the way it's designed then I will come back.
I was in a dbd phase with Judgment but 2v8 timers got me playing Halloween for now. I'll be back
I play daily and am currently a 50/50 player. I get iri I grade in both roles every season. But with the recent nerfs to survivor I'm moving away from that role more and more. If some of the nerfs in the next patch go through I will only likely play SWF occasionally with friends. I'll be a killer main again, like i was ahen i first started playing. And if the killer queue times keep getting worse (and why wouldn't they?) I'll be playing much, much less.

This. I'll be back when 2v8 cycles out.
i have mostly stopped playing DBD because there is no point pouring energy, time, money, and effort into it when the devs dont care about players expierence if something is misrable or not, how is the quality etc (look to bhvrs trash "mMr rerework" its just another one like X times "we dont care, we want better queue time if you dont play it, play something else…" players especially veterans like me (playing since late 2018, 13k hours). On the contrary, they use solo queue players for garbage statistics that mean absolutely nothing if they dont actually understand the game (like Nurse stats what a trash killer buffs pls, Freddy what a op killer nerf pls etc) the hypocrisy and double standard is unbearable…
So yeah, Im choosing to "play something else" and enjoying it. bhvr can go ahead with made up "stats" 24/7 they might as well permanently match a 50 hrs Timmy against a tryhard Nurse with 10k hours, while nerfing Solo Q even more and buffing SWF. Go right ahead, Im out i will just watch from the sidelines while playing other games (Palworld, Ark, the upcoming Witcher 3 remaster, etc.) :))
Been playing less and less recently. The reasons for me are survivor is still as boring as ever. There is nothing new for them that actually shakes up the gameplay. It is also frustrating to play solo queue due to the fact that people are just clueless a lot of the time, refusing to get on gens and giving up at the first down. The killers I enjoy are almost all on the weaker side and m1 killers, and changes like pallet density made the game horribly unfun to play as them. The only killer I have been enjoying recently is Judgement and the bugs with them currently make them frustrating to play right now.
Killer:
KIller has never felt particularly good to play, not because I can't get kills or because it's too easy or anything prideful and crazy, balance of perks for killer doesn't matter to me either, my issues is that they don't feel unique almost ever. it's kinda just a lame way to make a game about killers for me… and the fact the game has gone more and more in the direction of making sure peoples ego's are in tact and nothing can be too much of an inconvenience just serves as more of a reason not to play killer. if I am going to play a killer I want them to be unique and compelling… not "fat bottle guy" or "bear trap man", or even worse… what they've done to licensed killers. the one killer I did enjoy when I came to DBD was myers, and I'm not talking about perma T3 insta mori myers which nobody liked, I mean myers that wasn't a dash slop merchant and a soulless design in a husk of myers likeness. Freddys dreamstate has always been extremely lacking, and even now when I do play killer I play Unknown or Bubba respectively because The Unknown has a level of individuality in being rooted in uncanny horror, and Bubba because he's a meme. in short, I really dislike that DBD strives to bend killers around the game, I think a Horror Asym should bend the game around the killer… I think the killer themselves should propose a different game, not different stats to run around a pallet…
Survivor:
So I played mostly survivor… which is just getting unfathomably worse, like incomprehensibly worse… The Devs do nothing at all to deal with mainstay survivor problems, everyone hates tunneling, it immediately removes the entire fun of playing a match when someone is getting hard tunneled, BHVR normalizing mechanics that are entirely BM, no matter what people say about them, is horrible Design. I understand in the current state of the game killers need to tunnel sometimes, and also slug sometimes, that doesn't make either thing good for the game.. not even remotely. The game has a huge toxicity problem already, I don't know why anyone would be surprised that toxicity is at an alltime high when valid killer strategies include singling someone out and making sure they can't play the game or keeping as many people possible laying on their face until they either bleed out or all go down and DC… Even if those things aren't at all personal for the killer player, literally nobody wants to deal with that ever, it's abysmal game design and the fact that BHVR doesn't seem keen on doing anything about it, and has recently made it even more viable alongside making other incomprehensible changes to perks that were fine for survivor just makes me want to move on and never touch this game again.
Other:
Halloween: The Game has reminded me in a huge way of what Asymm horror is about… it's about horror, and there's major parts of gameplay DBD is missing out on, DBD isn't a comp game, it just can't be… the framework of the game isn't capable of it… there's way too many inconsistent features to ever reach true competitive balance but the fact that that BHVR seems to be pushing it to that while denying fundamental necessities for games like that is a bad look. Halloween is insanely unbalanced and also extremely broken and buggy but what shines through it is that the game feels like you're really trying to escape a slasher, and the stakes feel high without being annoying by design. I understand the concepts of DBD and Halloween are way too different to compare one to one BUT what I am getting at is that if everything is broken in Halloween, it still feels like an engaging Horror Asymm where you can talk to people and have tons of fun because of the setting itself rather than feeling like an unnecessarily high stakes comp environment despite having no ranked mode or barebones features required of a game like that.
TLDR: Killers are lame and way too linear in a way that's often entirely unfun to play against and equally uncompelling to play as, a handful of the killers even have designs that are outright toxic inherently, regardless of the intent of the killer player themselves (Twins, Plague, Ghoul, Knight, Etc) and this happens because they're given no room to be able to express their personality as killer… its how well they can patrol gens, how fast they can patrol the map, how well they can outplay mindgames and structure loops… that's kind of it… and that leads to designs that feel bad, because despite a non-linear game featuring 40+ individual killers the gameplay is extremely linear.
Survivor was fun for a long while but as about 75% of my hours are from solo queue, playing this game over the last 6 years and seeing Behaviour do basically nothing at all to solve core problems with the survivor experience while also releasing power creeped killers who excel even more at contributing to aspects of the game people hate finally reached the boiling point for me in these last few updates, too many absolutely unnecessary nerfs and nothing in return for survivor. the sentiment has just been "deal with it" and i'm just done dealing with it.
I would love to see the game change for the better, that's why I am still active on the forums, but until then I'm not playing.
I'm really enjoying DBD, possibly more than I ever have, but I am looking to take a break soon.
Mostly personal reasons—hate that this game has me wrapped around its fingers and I want to pursue more fulfilling hobbies like drawing/painting.
I spent Chapters 21 - 25 hating every moment I played the game, but not being able to walk away. I probably uninstalled the game two dozen times, only to come right back. Took a solid break from Capter 26 - 33. Couldn't avoid the D&D chapter forever, I'm afraid. The last few chapters I've played a few games a week, but since Jason's release I've been playing non-stop.
TL;DR I'm spending too much time on this game and I need to be a responsible adult.
i've really cut back the time i've spent playing. solo queue is just so boring because i feel like my skill and performance rarely matter anymore. and by that i mean most matches are just way too easy or not winnable. very few matches feel hard-fought anymore. it's just easy win, or forced loss. the matchmaking system spends literally 10 seconds to throw you and 3 other random solo queue players into a match against a killer on a 500+ winstreak. i mean of course he's going to win. in order for that killer to get a balanced match he'd realistically be stuck in queue for an hour at least.
You’re not regularly getting matched against killers on 500+ winstreaks. This is the same as the myth that killers go up against 4-man SWF comp squads every match.
I've stopped playing but I do come back to the forums to see whats being debated. The reasons i've stopped playing aren't really a shock to anyone. Overall it just feels stale, and gameplay has just got a bit boring.
Recent events and game modes have been very disappointing with either terribly designed mechanics, lack of new content, or a lack of rewards/progress to keep it interesting and engaging.
It also feels like matches now are too fast paced for me. For me personally it never used to feel like this, and therefore it just gets stressful to the point of thinking "why bother" for the amount of reward/BP i would get for matches which would only get me like 1 or 2 bloodwebs. Theres no incentive for me to play.
Some other decisions such as the "horror" leaving all of the maps (a good example is coldwind, general darkness and fog) also sucks the fun and energy out of matches for me. 2v8 used to drag me back for a while but i don't see myself coming back any time soon unless there are some actual meaningful changes made to the game.
im in the same boat 2v8 just does more harm then good as it ruins the queue times and throws any semblance of mmr out the window…. i only login for the weekly crate and when a chapter comes…. And it wil more then likely stay that way till frank stone(The champion) arrives
I’m pretty limited in how I play. I’m almost entirely a Solo Q player. I’ve tried killer many times and In all honesty I just don’t enjoy it, I feel bad a lot and usually end up letting everyone go. I can’t play with others in SWF very well because I get very nervous and end up making really stupid plays. That leaves Solo Q. And for a long time I was totally happy with that. But I don’t think I need to explain how… kind of awful it feels, especially lately. It feels like there were a lot of things I was looking forward too that got axed, nerfed very quickly, or just have yet to come to the game.
And with the recent nerfs of some strong survivor perks, along with the most recent perk update it feels like solo isn’t important. I get that it’s the devs choice for the game to be the way it is, and that’s alright. I just have to accept that the game they want is a game where the part of it I enjoy playing is arguably the worst part of the game. But that’s a me issue, not a dev, or killer, or SWF issue.
But you go against a thousand copycats.
That's one of the long running problems between general survivor gameplay intentions and general killer gameplay intentions.
Killers tend to be playing to win however possible, Survivors tend to be playing for fun
when you are new to DBD it's much easier to pick up killer than survivor, however when you start running into survivors that have game knowledge then you have trouble as Killer… so tons of killers go to Killer main CCs where people who have tens of thousands of hours on DBD put out builds that are utterly abysmal for survivors to deal with on a regular basis. on the flipside survivor content creators are usually straight up clowning around and oftentimes losing while doing so. JRM is probably the biggest and most consistent example, and one of the first names you'll see if you look up survivor videos, maybe Skerms and Ayrun, Slate, even lesser known clip based survivor creators like Wheelman or Socks and 9/10 times you're tuning in to straight up nonsense like a bubba getting dropped in a hole with a toilet flush sound… I mean in most of those videos I watch the survivor players are dying more than they're living… and they're undeniably very good at the game.
So at "middle MMR" the survivors in games look like a mix of people playing casually, people who just aren't that good but are still trying "meta" builds, and people who are copycatting clown behavior… these are contributing factors to why it feels like people are constantly going against "tryhard" or "sweaty" killers..
The constant Killer hand holding and power creep has made it so brain dead.
It's constant aura reveal and teleport / traverse., now just beam spam with no looping.
Killing the interactive loop skill or any ability to make good plays.
I've been off Survivor for about a month and play a couple Killer's still.
Perk rework was more trash for Survivor. Who could have seen that coming?
”Killers tend to be playing to win however possible, Survivors tend to be playing for fun”
This seems like a very biased comment. You have no way of objectively measuring this across the entire player base. Anyone could say the opposite (killers tend to be playing for fun and survivors tend to be playing to win however possible) without any evidence to back it up, and that would be equally valid to your argument because both arguments are subjective and based on no actual data.
I am always skeptical when I see comments like this because a lot of other people come here and claim that killer side is way too easy, but then when I ask them to show any evidence that they actually play killer or to share recent stats, they never reply, which tells me that many of these people don’t actually play the killer side. I play killer and I certainly don’t feel like it’s “brain dead”. Many of my matches have good to excellent survivor players and are quite challenging. Can you share some of your recent killer stats? I’m curious what killers you play and what your kill rate is.
It took like a couple of days for number 3 to come through again (the what are abandon and surrender post).
It's pretty easy to gauge the overall sentiments of the communities respectively.
there's been an extremely consistent outcry from survivor players for a long time about the degradation of an enjoyable experience for the survivor side.
Further proof is that killers still most frequently and consistently tunnel at 5, I see that in more of my games than anything else, and the recurrent justification is "that it's efficient, and part of the game". as a matter of fact verifiably toxic mechanics like Slugging for a 4k (Twins Special) and Hard Tunneling are openly endorsed by both BHVR and killer mains as "a valid way to win" without considering or even admitting that it isn't fun for anyone else in the game and if there was a "Forefeit" option the killer would be left alone in 90% of the lobbies that they try to do that in because the burden of interaction lies with the killer, and choosing to tunnel at 5 is the most efficient way to curb stomp most middle MMR and low MMR lobbies, it's also extremely uninteractive… 3 people just sit on gens while the killer proxies and waits for them to come back to the hook over and over, it's predictable and boring. that proves killer intent to "win at all costs" VS "have an engaging game" and it's such a prevalent sentiment that it occupies the most heated discussions on the forums all the time. and it's even reinforced by the complaints that survivors are bodyblocking off of hook, which led to the nerf of BT on hook. they don't want to interact or chase, they want to win ASAP in a great majority of the games I am in.
Technically speaking its most efficient for survivors to sit on gens no matter what and just crank them out to rush to the escape gates as soon as possible but you really don't see that very much in regular games, it's another long time gripe of solo queue players that teammates are up to some nonsense while other things are going on… that's because the stripped down gameplay objective for survivor is boring and so people want to engage with the killer, the only way to do that is to practically make the killer engage with you anymore, they'll run past you to continue to tunnel, they'll run Lightborn so you can't even try to save other survs with flashlights, they'll run back into the hook as soon as they know you're headed for it because then its free hits and often a hook trade. that's what the mid MMR solo queue experience is like.
That is why I went the route of mentioning Content Creators, because everyone knows that Tutorial content in DBD is extremely lacking and that it has a very high percentage of players with 1000s of hours. people go to content creators for game information, that much is a fact.
Killer CCs are almost always entirely focused on winning however possible, the videos are marketed that way. it's either "So and so wannabe SWF rages after I kill them" or "This new build for the -insert killer- is PURE EVIL". meanwhile survivor videos are "DBD Late at Night" "Running this Meme Build" with the occasional "Run these perks to last longer in chase". if you are a new player and you look up DBD content for killer there is an excess of tutorial content from other players, for survivor it really comes down to watching someone who is very good at the game clown around for 10-20 minutes.
And I can speak to my own sentiment as well. I play 80/20 (survivor main) and the only reason I don't play killer is because it's uncompelling from a fun standpoint… killers are bland and interaction with survivors is very much limited from years of core gameplay that encourages people to hold W and avoid a chase while completing gens. you can play survivor with friends and just have a generally good time. Solo Queue is borderline unplayable these days, most games decided in the first few minutes and very few outlets for survivors to do anything about it.
I'm just waiting for 2v8 to be over so I can go back to playing killer. 2v8 is fun and all but it gets stale pretty fast for me nowadays
I stopped playing regularly bc of Diminishing returns. I play both sides and it ruins my favorite builds like pallet break speed and repair/heal :(
"Watch me equip this broken build on a strong killer and Smash pubs."
I Hope you enjoy!
They tried to install Denuvo trojan software on my PC so I wasn't playing for two weeks.
I was watching a survivor streamer on the day patch 6.1.0 came out and he was playing with some people from his chat, but all uncoordinated beyond if they were possibly watching his stream out of the corner of their eye. The streamer was yapping about his favourite cheese, mindlessly running around and not paying much attention. They had brought one or two toolboxes because they were vaguely aware of the patch changes and figured they might help, but otherwise they weren't sweating. And they all died.
Then one of the big Legion killer streamers put out a "this VILE sweaty TOXIC toolbox SWF dies to MY Legion!!" video and the match in question is the main feature :D it's all so silly but I know it has to be done for engagement sadly…
I still haven't reinstalled since Jason's chapter. I've been unhappy with the game before that, but thankfully, the devs managed to come up with a killer design so vile that it finally broke the camel's back for me.
Take the most recent killer as example. The judgment has one of the most unique powers in the game and it's never been seen before in any other killer. But when it comes to the survivor gameplay: run in a different direction and hope the killer misses their attack. lol. oh and you also can hold M1 on a different object to remove the status effect (already exists for another killer). This is exactly why survivor has had the shortest queue times for a while now.
I went against momo twice in less than two weeks during his nearly 2k Blight winstreak, both in soloq. It happens and it's not fun. Does not encourage one to play more, that's for sure.
This isn't directed at me but I'm going to respond anyway. I don't claim killer is easy per se, and it can be much more stressful, but it is getting more handholdy than survivor with these recent nerfs and the last couple killer releases. You can just equip the right perks and win on many killers. I can attribute a huge amount of my killer wins to perks and apparently that's fine for that role but not for the other. And just to be transparent, these are my recent numbers:
Killer is much easier lately and it was easiest it has ever been for a long time… but survivior perks are keep getting nerfed.
I am personally waiting for 2v8 to end and I am going from 50/50 player to killer main.
Survivior experience just doesn't feel right lately, especially on solo queue.
Myers main here. Been playing nothing but DBD for over a year….but I haven't touched it since Halloween came out, honestly. I finally feel scary as the killer again. The killer is actually the power role for a change. Extremely refreshing. And for everyone saying "Oh, but Myers can get bullied!" Sure….if you go after the other players. But Halloween solved the balance issue with the npc's. Doesn't matter how strong you are as a civilian. Doesn't matter that you can run faster than Myers or have 20 pocket knives. If Myers finds your neighbors before you do…..you lose. And your neighbors are slow, stupid bots who can't defend themselves. They're basically a resource that you and Michael are fighting over. Perfect way to introduce fear back into the asym horror, imo
Yeah same. I'm playing both in 2v8 but after that this 50/50 crap can go to hell. I just hope the queues don't make the game unplayable, or they don't start sneaking unmarked bots in to help with the times, because it seems like an awful lot of people don't want to play survivor after this update and the previous recent changes and chapters.
I think this is the logical next step, sneaking in bots and attempting to pass them as RL player, survivor gameplay is dreadful nowadays, and coming changes, devs would need to pay me, so i play survivor
i just don't love the new killer power designs… since ghoul they've been a bit… unfun.
taking a break balance is frustrating and it feels like the culmination is judgement where she's huge glowing you see her power at every step and has directional audio with glowing aura pillar if your far enough and the only reason why we have this balance patch is because dbd has slight competition because of halloween (which is fun)
They've been accused of it before. A lot of people have seen default anon skins with globes that act like bots. I've seen some questionable ones in past 2v8s myself. And if it is a thing, bots are terrible and the killers will win more, which will boost their egos and keep them spending. It's a system that would work for a time.
I think it's quite possible that they make enough money without a lot of survivors participating. If you want a killer with a certain kit and they're licensed you have to buy them. You don't have to buy a single thing with real money to play survivor. You can get the perks from the shrine. Even with my minimal spending, 80-90% has been killer.
Funny to read that OP seemingly only wants to play 2v8 at this point while I just had 5 or 6 games in a row with a Nemesis involved and am close to uninstalling just because of this game mode and THESE GODFUCKING ZOMBIES EVERYWHERE. Or at least wait until it is over.
2v8 has become so obnoxious (and boring for that matter) that 3 weeks in a row is just…I don't even have words for this emotion. I also don't think it was the greatest idea to mix 3 weeks of this event with the MMR reset.
If not even their big DBD Creators play this mode, a developer maybe should acknowledge there's something wrong with it, no? The only reason to play this right now is the FOMO quests (which thankfully can be partly done in 1v4).
Which is frustrating enough on it's own.
it's because it's not even possible to give survivor something as significant as giving the killer another killer to work with within the current gameplay. so the devs went about it by making survivors overly strong, which still isn't satisfying for anyone because it's nothing new it's just stat changes.
"or they don't start sneaking unmarked bots"
Been sus on enough survivors I've gone against to be positive they already do this
@Nazzzak @cogsturning
I doubt they are, the Killer queue times wouldn't be so horrible if they were.
Around 30 minutes in 2v8.
Around 10 minutes in 1v4.
With unmarked bots, queue times wouldn't go past 5-7 minutes.
Honestly, as sad as it sounds, BHVR really shouldn't make any 2v8 quests Killer-exclusive, there's already enough Killers without adding the completionists that wouldn't bother with wasting half an hour for a ten-minutes (very generous estimate) match otherwise.
Although, if they don't go back on the WoO destruction, it's not unreasonable to assume a lot of Survivor players, mostly casuals, SoloQ players & newcomers, will play Survivor less. And unmarked bots in the future might not be too far-fetched if the numbers go too far in one direction.
Or sometimes they just get the killer power designs straight up wrong. Cough…. Jason Voorhees as a projectile killer cough.
I think they'd smatter them about here and there. It'd be too obvious if it was every match. Bot behavior can be obvious to people who pay attention.
Do people really care that much about Quests? I don't even really check them. I just play and they get done. Same with the Rift. It's so rare I do anything intentional for a Quest.
Funny thing is, if that's who dips that leaves the dreaded comm parties that killers hate. They're celebrating now but the easy snacks will leave and the sweats will be who remains.
Real talk, i almost quit dbd in 2025. It was because mmr and solo q makes playing beyond misreable. In dbd you cannot run any non meta build. If you do it feels like your throwing on purpose. And it still feels like this today. Another thing i want to bring up is the tribalism. The very pro survivor content creators and the very pro killer content creators arent helping matters much when it comes to me wanting to walk away from the game. It feels like watching two angry neighbors yelling and screaming at each other over a problem each side thinks the other caused, not realizing the real problem comes from the third neighbor BHVR. Stop screaming at each other over how the game sucks and start screaming at BHVR so the game gets better.
Sometimes i feel the urge to take a break now and then but now at least i have people to play which was not the case before. But solo q still sucks. I have no idea on how you fix it.
The CCs are like political pundits. They keep the peasants squabbling amongst each other so they don't look up at the kings. It's why I think they're the primary source of the community's problems. I wish people would stop listening to and engaging with them, but even people who recognize their influence on the game and how bad it is still watch them, raise their view counts, and keep them relevant.
I really dont think the game sustainable as it is now.
Who would want to play as a survivor, especially as a new player when with most killer you can dominate after few hours investment while as survivor even with 1000+ hours you are considered to be baby. And to be "good" you are required over 10k hours constant learning , not just playing because that itself means nothing. So obviously people will gravitate towards killers, at most they click on play as survivor while waiting and throw the match since they dont care about the role. The only source of income when new license acquired and some new players come to play but quickly realize that the survivor role really bad and leaves or play killer instead.
So the solution here is the adding of subtle bots presented as bad survivor, and seems like the MM rework was just to remove skillbased matchmaking altogether it doesn't matter how much you win or lose, seemingly you get new players to kill as killer and new players to lose with as survivor.
Even the play while you wait added as to avoid total collapse of matchmaking.
I really start to see that yeah killers will get power feel against hordes of bots while thinking how good they are against other players
Nobody is “dominating” as killer after a few hours of play. I’ve been playing killer for a long time and I consistently face good survivors that provide plenty of challenge.
How are you coming to this conclusion? Are you dominating as killer yourself? I’d be curious to see your hours played as killer and kill rate stats if you’re willing to share.
