these forums feel almost dead so it's not a big loss that they're being closed. the steam forums have more activity but i wouldn't recommend them. the discord seems pointless unless you're looking for a group.
i do use the subreddit a lot though and have had more than a few posts make it to the front page over the years. only thing that sucks is that outside of updates it's clear that there's very limited activity from BHVR there. sometimes when new content drops they suddenly start making appearances in comment sections and such but outside of that they are invisible.

my thoughts..
there's one type of person in this world that views everything as a competition. literally, they view everything in life as a competition. and they literally can't see a world where things aren't a competition. psychologists have given these people a name you've probably heard before - narcissists. narcissists equate the outcome of everything with their own self-worth. and they believe there are only winners and losers in life. they don't see an in-between. basically, on some primal too they view themselves more as a quality than as a person. this is important. you're not a quality. you're a person. and the people you play against are not simply qualities either. a narcissist isn't capable of understanding this. and sometimes even non-narcissists, when we are losing at something, we start falling into how a narcissist always feels. a narcissists always feels like a sore loser. and that explains most of why they act and behave the way they do. imagine if you just felt that way all the time about everything, what a horrible life.
so have empathy for yourself, have empathy for the people you're playing with. this is something narcissists simply aren't capable of ever doing. know that the outcome of any game or situation says nothing about who you are, and nothing about your opponent either. it's just a game that you're supposed to be having fun with. it's not something that is supposed to define you.

you gotta wonder how much work is hatch doing in elevating the overall survivor escape rate. 5%? 10%? more?
if they removed hatch they almost certainly would see a significant overall lower escape rate and then be forced to buff survivors in some other way.

maybe i'm wrong but this perk seems like it won't be very consistent

i mean.. i actually think We See You is better than the current 30s self-preservation anyway. knowing when your aura is being read is simply just way more impactful and also doesn't negatively effect your teammates.

i've really cut back the time i've spent playing. solo queue is just so boring because i feel like my skill and performance rarely matter anymore. and by that i mean most matches are just way too easy or not winnable. very few matches feel hard-fought anymore. it's just easy win, or forced loss. the matchmaking system spends literally 10 seconds to throw you and 3 other random solo queue players into a match against a killer on a 500+ winstreak. i mean of course he's going to win. in order for that killer to get a balanced match he'd realistically be stuck in queue for an hour at least.

i feel like most of the time when i die it's not because of the killer but rather because my teammates just don't even bother going for the unhook. feels really bad to experience that multiple times in a row and makes me want to avoid the game mode altogether.

don't forget what the original trade was:
survivors lose styptic, syringe and off the record but survivors gain 5 seconds of extra borrowed time!
the new trade is survivors lose 5 seconds of borrowed time and sprint burst, but gain 10 seconds of elusive!

Where are you getting this “70% win rate” from? As far as we know, the average kill rate is 60%, and that is kill rate not win rate. The typical player is not winning anywhere close to 70% of their killer matches, much less doing it without ever camping or tunneling. I don’t know where you are getting this from.
the typical killer is winning around 60% of their matches. the typical killer is also horrible at the game to the point that camping and tunneling mean very little. the typical killer regularly misses basic attacks. the typical killer is easily mind gamed at every loop in the game. the typical killer uses very little strategy. and yet they're winning 60% of their games.
where am i getting 70% kill rate from is.. well.. if you could read i phrased it as "if you're any good at the game." i didn't say "if you're a typical killer." why did i use 70%? because i don't camp or tunnel (not intentionally) and have above a 75% kill rate on every killer in the game. i also don't consider myself a good killer and thus view this performance as reasonably obtainable by any experienced player.
and again the point is that camping and tunneling, when used by good killers, isn't about breaking even. it's not about winning only 60% or 70% or 80% of your matches. but it's about winning almost all of your matches.

camping and tunneling used to be considered noob strategies that weren't effective. the idea was that you'd open yourself up to being gen rushed and it was really only effective against bad teams. but then patch 6.1 hit and made gen times significantly longer and killers significantly stronger. prior to this patch only nurse, blight and spirit were really considered competitive killers and literally every other killer was of a similar power level to skull merchant now. that's how bad killers had it back then.
patch 6.1 took nurse, blight and made them overpowered while bringing up the rest of the killers to being reasonably competitive/capable.
and because all the killers were stronger, and gen timers were longer, camping and tunneling went from being considered noob tactics to being considered easy and effective ways to win most games.
for as much as killers will say that "it's the only way to win games" a more accurate statement would be "it's the only way to win almost all of your games". because that's really the difference. if you don't camp or tunnel you're still winning 70% of your games at least if you're any good. but you add camping and tunneling to the mix now and that number can jump above 90% very easily and with streamers we're seeing it being the norm to go on 50, 100, 200+ winstreaks.
so in terms of "what can be changed" to make tunneling/camping less necessary. it's not necessary now, unless you consider winning every single game to be necessary.

killers accuse my solo queue teams of being SWF all the time. it's loser mentality honestly. "i lost so must be SWF."

it takes a certain lack of awareness to tell other people that they are not entitled to their own thoughts, feelings and autonomy. especially in regards to something that is nothing more than a product.
