NOED is fine, Adrenaline is fine. People need to stop calling every perk that doesn't work for THEIR side a crutch perk, and just own up to their own failings. NOED activated? You failed to do the totems. Adrenaline activated? You failed to stop the gens. I am so sick and tired of watching both sides pick at every aspect of this game the second it gives an advantage to the other side. We need to start taking our wins and losses with some dignity and stop finding ways to blame it on the other sides perks/addons/items/powers. Complaining that it isn't fair is a huge contribution to the bitterness and toxicity in this game from both sides, there seems to be this air of...forgetting this is a game.
I'll admit, I've been gaming since I was 12, I'm now edging very close to my 40's, so perhaps I'm a little old fashioned in my thinking, but i see difficult aspects of a game as a challenge.
NOED...I run a utility build that often includes small game, and occasionally a map. I'm not saying that's what people HAVE to do, but pointing out that I choose to do this in order to keep NOED off the table, and if i fail, then i can always hunt the damn totem down when its Activated. It is not a guaranteed win for the killer, they still have to hunt the survivors, close the hatch, hook and protect their hooks. If you throw yourself at a hooked survivor without thinking it through, that's your own fault,
Adrenaline...Literally only activates if the survivors do all the gens or the hatch is closed, and before you all cry "But Gen Rush!" Do you truly and honestly expect survivors to go slow at the only set objective they have in the game? Doing totems is a choice, purposely getting into a chase is a choice, doing gens is not. They get done or eventually the team dies. I know that killers would sure as s**t have something to say about being asked not to build up a snowball momentum because it makes the game harder for survivors.
I do not consider any of these perks to be "Cheap", how you play is how you play and there will always be a meta in any game you play. You take one away, and other will fall into place to pick up the slack, that's just the way it works. Asking people to not use strong perks is just asking them to handicap themselves for your benefit. That's not a challenge, that's just tailor made winning.
Please bear in mind this is all based on my OPINION, I don't ever claim my personal beliefs to be fact.
I honestly don't care if other are used in any game I play if I lose boowho I lost. If I win great. I personally don't use ither. I'm more interested in the different opinions people have and the conversation that is starts up. When I play survivor and the killer has noed great for him I do totems early. And if I'm killer IDC if the survs use adren just not toxicly.

In before anyone crys. you get gens. Hatch and again doors. Why should only survivors have hope. Also
Epic.

There the same coin different sides. Adrenaline is a reward for gens yes. noed is the counterplay to it.
Exactly so again I ask how is it ignorant whiney or dishonest to compare two perks are "two sides of the same coin"

He's saying you can't compare them because one is rewarded for doing gens and completeing there job killer get rewarded for failing at his job yes they are both crutches but you can't compare them
But you can. Look at what @Raccoon had posted.

With the introduction of the End Game Collapse, Adrenaline can now trigger with 0 generators done, and 3 teammates eliminated - Rewarding the Survivor for failure.
Can I quote that lol please!

Anything that counts as skillful play also counts as countering Adrenaline. In other words, normal play alone is enough to handle Adrenaline.
The thing about the perk is that it lets you get more out of slight advantages, but for it to help you need to get an advantage to begin with. Since if the Killer can win in time Adrenaline won't help.
TLDR: If you balance the game as a whole then Adrenaline is balanced. Thus changing the perk directly is unnecessary.
Ok so basic gameplay helps curve it that's good to know. I really don't use adrin or noed I don't like ither one but it's more annoying when the player with adrin is being toxic.
-
They have one called adrenaline the killer does the work to get your hook riped away from him. Just like with noed survivors do all the work to just get hooked last second so the effect both ways. I'm not saying it should never be used. and I'm not and I'm not saying that It should be nerfed I am simply asking what is people's opinions on those two perks I'm not looking for arguments I don't care about arguments just opinions thanks. And before you go to start that I started the argument please reread the thread and have a great day!
-
I play survivor to.quite a bit. And how am I lying? So can survivors stop crying about noed.
-
And noed is so easily curved if the survs do the totems why can't a killer curve adren at the end of the game by doing something special like why can't the killer grab them as they try to stand up. I'm coming from the killer point of toxic survs that will wait until you are right on top of them to use it otherwise they just lay there and bleed. So sure the killer is dishonest for comparing noed to adren. I see it now (sarcasam)
-
How is it ignorant winney or dishonest. It does the same thing the gens done the killer goes through all the work of chasing you and downing you so it's ok because it's the killer? I guess I don't understand it's cheap. You get slashed and laying on the ground bleeding out and can just stand up and run?
@AWesley91 said:
Adrenaline gives survivors a brief reward for a huge success, fixing all the gens.
Noed gives killers a reward for massive failure of all gens being fixed (dependant on totems, yes) that lasts the rest of the game or until that totem is found.
Decisive strike could be called a crutch, yes. Calling adrenaline a crutch and comparing it to noed is ignorant, whiny, or dishonest.
So it's dishonest I don't get it. I feel both are crutch perks. It is a actual intelligent comparison both are end game perks.
-
Ok so if the hexs move around the map to other dull totems that's great and all. But the issue with it is people will complain even more because now not only do you clense it once in theroy where it moves you now have to clean it 5 times. And people don't even take the time to do one now.
-
@NuclearBurrito said:
Adrenaline: It's rewarding success rather than mitigating failure which makes it unique among second chance perks. It's also somewhat self-balancing, since if the Killer's can stop the gens from being completed by being better at the game (AKA: If the game is otherwise balanced) then whatever counts as good play in general also counters Adrenaline and thus ensures that Adrenaline will only proc if the Killer messes up.
NOED: Fine for completely different reasons. The effect by itself while overrated is still very strong. However the fact that you can stop it from procing at the endgame before you even are close to that point keeps it in check, and you can cleanse it during endgame if you really want to.
You can keep noed in check. How do you keep adrenaline in check? Besides gen pressure?
-
I really do enjoy reading all the comments and seeing where people stand. I myself am a killer main. But it's almost 50/50 for me I have days that I just want to survive and days I wanna kill.
-
This still doesn't stop the constant complaining about totems from survivors that won't clean the bones. Great idea tho
-

Both. Playing survivor more tryhard cause it's team game. Don't wanna let my random teammates down. Playing Killer to have fun with survivors cause I don't mind losing that much.
See and I don't mind loseing on ither side but I play for the fun of it.

Ya was playing legion but he would hit me and then run directly at another survivor and I could see all of this because I was using the empathy perk
So he probably activated frenzy in witch case it's best used hitting one survivor and then using it to find others. (I'm a legion main)
-
@Theluckyboi said:
Both, although i like playing survivor a bit more because killer can get stressing at times.
And I'm the other way I feel like being a survivor gets really stressful at times.
-
Or maybe the killer was farming points!
-
@kermitelefroggo said:
He would also hit me once then run across the map and hit one of my teammates and would continue this cycle until he got bored and actually hooked someone
If your killer was legion I do it all the time hit someone with the power and run the other way to find other survivors. You can't down with his power but you can add alot of pressure.

Yeah, but really good Spirits and Nurses are very difficult to counter, you can still counter them, but if they know what they are doing, you will have a hard time versing them.
Ahh ok I see what your saying. I still can't stand them as killers. And I more often than not escape when it's ither one.
-
@kermitelefroggo said:
Shouldn't it be 60/40 with the killer as the 60?
That's all personal preference really. If your a good surv then it's 60/40 surv up. If your a good killer it's 60/40 killer up. It depends if you know how to counter and dodge attacks.

For you as a killer? Yeah, I mean you can definetely perform with each killer in red ranks, but people usually whine about Spirit and Nurse and I don't agree, because every killer adds its own flavour to the game. In a way, I kinda miss the old Freddy/Legion as well.
I'm ok with the Freddy rework. But I wish they would have just left legion alone. But legion is still a good killer and so is Freddy. Are people more scared of spirit and nurse because of the teleport they do? That countered easily enough if you know what your doing!
-
@Impala said:
60/40 split for me as well, but the 60 is Survivor. I am the type of player that is aware of the bs of both sides and wants the game balanced but still with strong killers like Nurse or Spirit. I, as a survivor, find it challenging and much more interesting to verse stronger killers so I don't really get the frustration of many survivor mains out here.
And the other one I don't get is nurse or spirit. I was in red rank with the legion before the reset and didn't have really any issues. In my opinion nurse and spirit are on the bottom of my list as killers

So what I'm reading here is facecaming and proxy camping are making people mad. So let's think this way if you were in the situation the game is do you really think the killer will leave you alone if your not dead? Probably not your gonna get murdered before they move on.
And if the killer so chooses to camp. Screw it and go do gens and get point they only hurt themselves camping.

I understand taking those items or perks works but being forced to take those into every game just to counter one perk is kinda ridiculous. It's like taking Iron Will every game just to counter the Spirit when you may never play against that Killer. I don't have a problem with NOED myself, but having more information would help players in general rather than hoping your teammates are competent.
So don't go into the match relying on your teammates yes keep them in mind play a team but do what you gotta do. When I run I don't take anything in with me besides offerings and I keep small game on I always find totems early game and get rid of them so bye bye noed.
-
@Awakey said:
I do main Killer, however I have been to red ranks for both sides, so I do understand the struggles of high ranks. It's a 60/40 split for me.
And not once did you complain. Like 60/40 is about the mechanics of the game anyway. It is a killer biased game that survivors are basically just skins.

@survivormain1105 said:
Best way to solve deranking. Once you reach a tier you can't go below it to lower ranks. Red,purple,green,white it would solve so many issues with the game. Rank reset breaks. I was rank 1 this past season and it put me at 10. So now the poor killers that r trying to play are playing sweaty rank one survivors. Same goes for killers, once rank 1 and facing rank 13 survivors.
Makes sense.... I think not. But the dev's are doing a good job...........
So a rank 1 survivor gets put to a rank 10. So in the. Wouldn't a rank 1 killer get set there to on reset. So your playing the same killer levels as you were before rank reset doesn't just effect survivors.

Ya I guess that's the big part then is more enjoyment. I have just never had all four of the suicide at the same time all in the basement

@Hexyl I can see that but I still think it's pointless.

Deranking most likely get used to it they wanna start making dc's ban worthy so people are gonna keep doing it as its the way around it.
What's the point in deranking? Take less of a hit when season ends?

That would be the scariest killer in the game!!
Power is sun baby lol.

The only time NOED is a problem is for soloq. SWF can use comms to count how many totems have been cleansed, I do this when I'm stacked. But in solo, players have no idea how many totems are done and might just waste time looking for totems that are already cleansed. If there were a totem counter displayed on the HUD for soloq I don't think NOED would be a problem at all.
The counters are there as mentioned before. Take a map with red twine. Use small game. There are counters again it comes to I can't be bothers doing totems because blah blah blah solo play. If you come to one that's been done by another player great one less you have to worry about. I solo que myself and get oh so much enjoyment when a killer does have noed.

It's simply a badly designed perk in my opinion. Rewards killers with cheap downs because... ????
the survivors completed their objective?
Makes no sense to me, never liked it.
So having Adrenaline for a survivor is the same thing. The killer put in all the work to down you. And you just jump back up and run away. It's the same it's useless to argue a perk because both sides have op perks and really bad ones. Noed is good for killers bad for survivors. Adrenaline God for survivors bad for killers. Do you see the redundency

I wonder if there any killers that are actually ok with playing against SWF.
Certainly they can’t all be in the forums because I often play with friends and I never see the outcry that is often had in these forums.
In fact some killers welcome the challenge.
I like playing against swf players it gives it more of a challenge and alot of times they stay together so easy downs.

Claudette or fing if they are in my lobby are ones I notice the easiest

Well now you know the basic reason of why some don't like them: Opinions. 😊
And I respect that everyone has an opinion. but instead of bashing on a not so popular killer can we all just be friends 😂😅 join the dead by daylight legion so to speak.
-
That's why I enjoy him a survivor with a knife. Honestly his power should be changed to be able to remove the mask for a short period of time. Because of the promo.
-
There should be a a five min or ten min ban for anyone that DCs. I understand this effects the accidental ones but it would give people a reason to steer away from it.
-
@starkiller1286 said:
It is nice to let the last get hstch but not required.
I don't just let them get hatch I let them finish gens and open a door. I'll even show them where the closest one is
-
So then my next question would be going from being a legion main wanting to work on other killers who would be a good killer to take the first step with.
-
I would agree with undoing the nerfs. On the other hand I don't find his "stun" after frenzy that bothersome you can still move forward and you can still see in the middle of the screen thus being able to keep an eye on the injured survivor. Witch legion actually moves faster than a running injured survivor (I have tested it multiple times). And almost as fast as a non injured. I guess I'm just a lucky one who happens to be good with them. and I gotta deal with the crap for it
-
@Im2Shrewd said:
The lore is badly written and even has typos in it and the design isn’t particularly exciting, just a dude/girl with a knife.
Well that's all the legion is is a bunch of teens with knifes terrorizing people. The lore should be looked at and rewritten.
-
I do agree with the lore behind them. It could be a better backstory
-
So even not on paper if you set up his frenzy to blind and put them into a mangled state with the smiley face pins.
I mean I guess I'm just upset seeing a killer like legion with all of his potential be pushed aside like a red headed step child. If the person behind the killer knows how his frenzy works they would use it to an advantage hit one and look and see if someone is close to you then go for them. It keeps frenzy going and by the time you hit the last survivor with it with the right set up they won't be able to get away it could turn into a really fun chase on both ends.
-
Is it because he dose move quickly. So in all reality it's people don't understand how to counter him so he's annoying. That's like saying "the shape" or "the ghostface" are annoying because they have the stalking perk. I guess I'm looking for an actual reason not he's annoying to play against or his power sucks.

people hated legion and nothing will ever change that
I happen to be a legion main and I absolutely love using this killer. People hate him because they don't understand how to play him. Use him like a survivor not a killer. You'll win almost Everytime.
