I wonder why you don't like Dredge, Sadako and Xeno.
You dislike to VS ghostface, is it at least somewhat thanks to how bad his reveal mechanic works?
Why do you dislike Sadako and Freddy?
Dredge's power is very easy to counter and he is pretty weak
Sadako is very binary, you either get it all or just get nothing which is tiring for me idk how to phrse it in another way
Xeno, no counterplay on both sides of the chase, very boring
And idk why but whenever i play against ghostface i can never get anything, doesn't matter which role i play, as soo as i play survivor, he is extremely sneaky and gets off stalk and i cant reveal him while looking at him directly and as ghostface, i always get revealed in 2 seconds after poping power… skill issue but yeah i hate him
And freddy is extremely boring whatever he has and sadako is binary … so i either get everything or nothing …

To play (from left to right)
To play against (from left to right)
If you have comments, then just quote and ask ;)

I would say pain res because it is way more random than it seems and is not that strong in truth, and is rather strong on stronger killer and it is very good to beat ppl who are already losing …

Grim Embrace. It's still not that good by itself and even paired with Deam Man's Switch it's not the OP combo people made it out to be when it got buffed (which is why now almost everyone stopped caring about this combo entirely and went back to complaining about Pain Res and Pop lmao).
It just gives free time of no gens, it is the killer's fault to not do things in that time

Off the Record for Survivor. It is not 80 seconds of Endurance, it is as much Endurance as the Killer allows. Could be a long time, could be 1 second when hit right after the Unhook. Terrible Anti-Tunnel Tool since none of the effects do anything against tunneling.
For Killer, Bamboozle (not sure if this can be called Meta). I think it is just a Perk which makes Killer players play worse because instead of trying to mindgame structures, they just vault a Window and block it.
Ok you play against billy, you get hooked, then he goes elsewhere, you don't touch a gen, get healed, he comes back and would have you downed by hitting you with a chainsaw but you have otr.
This was just an exemple as to why this perk is good, it is an anti slow tunnel. And you being quiet, make you more annoying to catch (if you are good at the game) and you are undetectable.
And you better have bam on some maps (garden of joy(main building)) but in TLs i agree, but still i don't think the perk itself is overrated.
@duygu said:
its gotta be wholesome pursuer. corrupt intervention ends up doing the same thing since survivors move closer to the killer for open gens. besides you can approximate the spawn location of survivors without any perk anyway. i've had trouble finding survivors at the beginning of the match only in horrible maps like RPD.
Lethal Pursuer is quite a special perk, but the real reason why it is overrated is distorsion(no need to explain for me), because corrupt forces the survivors to come to you but you still don't know where they are at that time, and for me the reason that corrupt is better is arguably false and lethal is Ok even possibly better than corrupt for high mobility killer (billy, blight), there are reasons why tournaments ban aura perks.

deliverance because it’s only good in swf
It is strong but is very situationnal, and is so powerful it is reasonnable to say it's nearly game breaking, but i do not agree that you cannot play it in soloQ BUT you have to play in a way that is very special that not all ppl do well enough, if you want to play it, play in a way where it is valuable and instant unhook yourself to prompt your solo Q teammates to do gens, but at the same time you cannot do that as well as in swf but it is still valuable …

I would say in order :
Twins (In progress but even then not sure they will be anything else than 1st seeing … yes …)
Myers (Is there a killer that can be bad at early game and at endgame ? Oh yeah he exists, and does he have addons that make it so his kill rate is average ? YES THERE IS !)
Freddy (PLS someone make him OK and give me a reason to want to play him)
Trapper (… no comment, just a secondary power ? PLS)
Legion (Boring, make it interactive on the surv POV somehow)
And all of the others still need tweeking (The easiest ones to find for me/just ordered in killer strengh for me) :
Nurse (OP (remove her blinks when she is stunned, i swear it would make nearly no difference apart that she has counterplay and even then it's not even that bad …) I am a nurse main and i win way too much games with nothing but agi and monitor)
Wesker (infection = tunneling)
chucky (remove scamper out of slice and dice, it's just dumb and rebuff it as it was in the PTB (0.6 sec i think))
Huntress (Give me something else than 3% and 2% haste, buff it or do smth, rn it's worthless)
SM (make ppl not be traumatised somehow … very hard but everybody hates on her still even tho she isn't that bad anymore)
PPHead (give me other addons than just range)
Nemesis (A nitpick from me but remove zombies and make marvin blood basekit (new marvin blood = basekit rn) and or / addon pass)
dredge (cooldown buffs he feels really weak against good pallet campers)

Weakest killer in the game with no real chase power against survivors above 200 hours I fear
I do not agree cause pig has a threat of stealth and some slowdown in her traps, her early game is not as bad as myers's nor is her late game comparable to myers's cauz at least she can have stealth …
And even though myers one shots has a tier -2 coup and vaults windows quicker in tier 3 and has to charge that, not so strong power, if you take off any of the 2 OP addons he has, he is barely better than trapper, and even then it isn't that crazy since he has to stalk you for 12 h anyway …
Pig has a basic slowdown, can now delete any counterplay on small loops and has mid to Ok addons…
I do not agree with the weakest killer in the game, and stealth is good against anything but 4 man swf …
Try to get chased for 5 mins on ormond by a good pig and you will die in 6 seconds and against a trapper / myers you will do 5 min if you are good …
-
The rules are:
- No weapons allowed
- Every contender fights alone
- The tiers are in order from left to right
- Supernatural powers and other non-weaponized equipment allowed
Explanations : (i may be biased)
Chucky ⇒ doll
Unknown ⇒ unstable
Spirit ⇒ no kanata, you push her arm and it just drifts away … and then comes back.(limbs aren't physically connected)
Hag ⇒ can you be more malnourished and dry (is there no f water in her body) ?
legion ⇒ me but with a coat X
ghost face ⇒ he got beaten by women before but he had a knife to win :)
Amanda ⇒ weak but still will find a strategy to win over all others somehow (she is quite smart)
Artist ⇒ She is tall but does not have any muscles so she loses to those who have more in my opinion
Sm ⇒ has trained physically but is still a more or less normal woman who trained
trickster ⇒ is pretty weak but still more fit than all of the below
clown ⇒ literally just need to go to the gym and he will be like trapper
cenobite ⇒ without chains im not sure he has telekinesis put him there just in case he doesn't
blight ⇒ strong and resilient but certainly cannot win against plague
plague ⇒ can still disturb you while arm wrestling by vomitting on you
Old man that has a gun ⇒ is underrated to be weaker but is similar to an undead
dredge ⇒ idk ######### he is wrestling with but yeah im not certain about him so i put him there
Big black dude with a bing bing bang ⇒ i just can't see hime taking doc with his electricity
Doc ⇒ pretty strong but still not winning
freddy ⇒ immortal ? unlimited stamina cause he can just go in the dream world still weaker than twins
twins ⇒ Victor is getting crushed and charlotte … destroys with her arms she may have bought to the devil
Bubba ⇒ still very strong
Demo ⇒ destroys bubba without chainsaw (he has his claws btw)
hux ⇒ he is made of metal man !
Xenomorphs ⇒ pretty strong
knight ⇒ undead + there are 3 o
thers you must beat before
wesker ⇒ he is terminator but biologic version
Huntress ⇒ just extremely strong
Billy ⇒ the hands lose to the legs by a good margin but still very solid
trapper ⇒ got beaten up by the entity and is resilient for it
Myers ⇒ Inhumanly strong
Oni ⇒ he's a beast
Nemesis ⇒ only in phase one (RE3 lore) :)
Pyramidhead ⇒⇒⇒⇒ OK now tell me HTF he lifts that sword to stick it in the ground ?
Sadako ⇒ pallet breaking = telekinesis just destroys everybody like she barely moves her arms
NURSE ⇒ She just can break a pallet with one finger and is the only caracter that i firmly belive could leave the game but doesn't to not feel the pain of doing it …
-
I play all of my main at least once per session, i get bored easily so i have 5 mains to alternate bettween : huntress, nurse, oni, billy and doctor …

So what about killers who
=down a survivor and rapid shake their head rapidly for no reason
=be toxic like body humping or wraiths spamming their dinner/train bells, boing boing over and over
=hits survivors on hook constantly when they catch them with a crutch like noed
=hits survivors on hook who did no t bags/click or display any toxic behavior
=hits survivors on hooks because they chase a god looper who loop them for 4 to 5 gens
=hits survivors on hook because they get head on/power struggled
=hits survivors on hooks because they pallet/flashlight/flashbang save a team mate
=hits survivors on hooks because=they use blast mine.
=hits survivors on hooks because=they had boil over
=hits survivors on hook=because they use a sypetic powder
see even though all this is hook related=its different reason, so far it seems killers are more toxic than survivors. PS I love as a calm spirit user they wasting time doing that and no sounds. It must make them even more angry lol.
=down a survivor and rapid shake their head rapidly for no reason
Not BM being funny
=be toxic like body humping or wraiths spamming their dinner/train bells, boing boing over and over
Tiring and boring for humping, enjoying your time as wraith is ey OK
=hits survivors on hook constantly when they catch them with a crutch like noed
That is BM for sure
=hits survivors on hook who did no t bags/click or display any toxic behavior
Yes that is so tiring
=hits survivors on hooks because they chase a god looper who loop them for 4 to 5 gens
He did get destroyed tho … skill issue… (probably brain issue as well)
=hits survivors on hook because they get head on/power struggled
Whatever it's just a perk
=hits survivors on hooks because they pallet/flashlight/flashbang save a team mate
Depends but if it's like more than 5 times i will understand (Still a skill issue tho)
=hits survivors on hooks because=they use blast mine.
Why ? NO !
=hits survivors on hooks because=they had boil over
My old rpd librairy trauma is still there
=hits survivors on hook=because they use a sypetic powder
That is … pointless, just try winning the game to show them it doesn't matter …

1 when i get BMed myself for playing well
2 S tier killer baiting when tunneling at 5 gens

@GeneralV imagine that they add way to p1000 now, most ppl would give it up i think.
But absolute congratulations because my highest is p21…
-
Ok OTR is ok … it kind of backfires when used agressively and shouldn't be nerfed or buffed tbh … it's decent but is more situationnal than ppl think, i don't think it'll be that crazy to put the effects undefinitely until you get healed and then … maybe it's a bit much but …
First of all, the way to break a meta s not by nerfing meta stuff (apart if there is not interaction(looking at buckleup+ftp)) but by buffing the weak stuff … which is the reason why most ppl are upset about meta breaking …
-
WS vs teebag argument is pointless tbh and sometimes you misunderstand things because there is no communication, but at the same time, some ppl do it o annoy you … You are getting too personnal about it …

In terms of balance I think the game's better than it's ever been. In terms of my enjoyment of it, it's not quite an all time low but it's not what it used to be.
My issue isn't really specific perks or anything, it's just the aggressively competitive mindset everyone goes in with these days. In the days where there was more busted stuff readily available, somehow it was actually less common to see killers stacking every good regression perk or 4 man SWFs using all the hard meta perk combos all the time. Now it feels like the norm.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with playing the game however you wish to play it, but I think people in this game tend to care way too much about the end result of the match that they often forget to actually have a little fun in the match. People are sometimes racing for the most uninteractive gameplay they possibly can (i.e. gen rush builds, hardcore tunneling, etc.) and you lose all opportunity for interesting chases.
Unfortunately there's nothing BHVR can do to fix the playerbase; that's up to everyone as individuals to decide what is most fun for them. Some people find winning the most fun. Personally I just like to have an interesting match.
"Agressive competitive mindset"
I play both roles and i promise you that getting destroyed is not fun in both roles so most ppl bring the strongest ######### to not get stomped … and if you play 10 games and you get stomped once, DBD is a trash game, so yeah i am absolutely not surprised …
Losing is not fun if it's not because you played badly …
@pseudechis said:
Its still a lot of fun to play. In fact I'd say its in a pretty good spot at the moment.
For the most part Killer feels suitably powerful and survivor feels suitably difficult.

yeah i agree

I think the game is in a very bad state. The pace of the game has gotten way too fast. Solo queue is bad but not as bad for me as other people. I get competent teammates about 60% of the time give or take. On killer nearly every game has been miserable. Survivors are really good at looping tiles and pumping out gens. I have no time to generate any pressure. I'm very close to just quitting killer altogether. Survivor has been mostly autopilot for me. Just do gens, open door and leave. It's really boring, but its better than getting beaten senseless every game on killer side.
i would love to see some data on the average match time and how many gens get done per match. My games on both roles 5 gens get done and gates are opened in like less than 10 min a majority of the time.
Anyone else think the game has gotten really fast? Cause I certainly feel like games are too fast nowadays.
i get decently competant teamates 10 % of the time, i play more killer than surv and i have a bad mmr …
on killer i get extremely good survivors that would destroy most ppl … (I think im not the best but i still played a bit of comp)

Best state the game has been in balance wise but there's still a lot to be addressed.
- Tunnelling needs something that isn't locked behind a pay wall.
- 4 slow down stacking should be addressed as well as the need for killers to run slow down in the first place.
- FTP/Buckle Up and Background Player are overtuned.
- Nurse still needs to be looked at
- Low tier killers like Freddy and Myers desperately need something
- The amount of survivors giving up mid game is insane
- Map design
Overall though, I'm happy with the state of the game for the most part right now.
Tunneling is a solution to bad early game and yes it needs a non DS counter … and for those who wonder, no, off the record is not that strong…

That's pretty much most of my complaints as well. They done great things over the last year (removing gen tapping, buffing killers, anti face camp, anti 3 gen,) but still have much more to go. The game is a decent spot overall
It's coming but BHVR is still maybe a little bit small for the size of the game

Yeah my escape rate has dropped drastically since update 6.1. I pretty much just play for tome challenges and events now. They provide the dopamine hit I need lol and I'll clarify that I don't need to escape to enjoy a game, but most games are steamrolls at like 4 gens left. The best games are the close ones, where you don't know which way it's going to go. So even if you die, the fun and excitement was there. This game used to be like that frequently but it isn't anymore. Best I can pinpoint it's matchmaking that needs fixing but who knows.
At least billys are common now …
Hidden mmr sucks btw and matchmaking is a very big mess too
-
Yeah absolutely, it feels like favoritism more than anything else, like survivor techs should be removed, and auto aim should be toggleable too …
There is already not much incentive to playing killer and it doesn't help that so many bugs and exploits are common …
edit : i wouldn't spit on an qol chapter …

I’m not here to argue or disagree with anyone I just want to hear peoples thoughts on the current state of dbd. Personally I don’t like the current state of dbd I don’t enjoy playing the game almost every match will consist of pop pain res and tunneling and I don’t find it fun. From my experience playing the game not saying everyone’s is like mine but from my experiences I solo queue most the time I’m losing most my matches I’m running into pop and pain res very frequently my teammates give up early into the match tunneling happens quite often as well and I don’t find the game to be fun nor enjoyable. I play killer for fun when my survivor matches are just beyond horrible and I have fun while playing it if I’m being honest but personally how I am I just can’t play killer for longer than like an hour without getting bored of it I prefer survivor more cuz I find it more fun being chased and trying to survive over killing but I just want to hear what other people think about dbd and it’s current state and why
Maps are a big problem, like rng is a mess, then you can just get bad maps and bad maps over and over again …
Gens fly since ppl get bored if they don't do gens or chase …
Most killers tunnel since the mmr forces them to have half difficult half easy matches and they don't like losing …
Most perks / powers are either brokenly easy to use and have no counterplay or are just straight up garbage (red hearing exist btw) …
@RaSavage42 said:
There's a lot that an be said…
It's Gen progression VS. Gen regression… the whole 1.0-2.2 charges per second VS. .25 charges per second at base (I know that Killer's get an extra 5% (maybe more now) and only having 8 Gen regression actions per Gen
It's Maps…. them being seeded offers more variation but comes at the cost of them being RNG dependent
It's perks, Items and addons mistuning
It's having to deal with 5 90 charge Gens either close together or far apart…
The killer buff of the regression system added not 5% but 2.5% since there was already 2.5% regression whenever kicking …
The average level of play is increasing very fast …

Firstly, play against good survivors cause if you talk like that, you definitely didn't try comp enough, then try playing killer once to understand how they think ...
Then ill be mean and say you play at low level, the solution to that problem as survivor is to not drop that pallet :) and to work on your pathing :) edit : i don't mean to not drop it at all but to wait to waste time ...

The developers want an unbalanced, biased game that favors killers. You can see this through almost all aspects of this PvP game that is forgotten that this is a PvP game. Poor solo queue is sitting around a 35% win rate if we want to include DCs and suicides that happen frequently, yet Huntress gets a buff instead.
No they are just all in on money and don't really give that much of a though about what they do in the game ...
At least the huntress buff is not just temporary to promote a skin ? right ? right ?

A survivor giving themselves up is not part of the normal game loop. A killer pulling a survior out of a locker to hook them is.
Still not a bannable reason, but i would say there are multiple instances of that kind of situations that are very bitter for both sides / have little counterplay on one and should be removed in all cases (MYERS MORI ADDONS, full slug, survivor having background player and another getting downed under a pallet, etc, etc)
@ImWinston said:
Killer knew where the survivor was... he could finish the game without any problems. Locker is the only counter move against tombstone. Maybe the survivor was hoping that Myers would move away for a few seconds and then have time to go to another loop.
Everyone talks about the "survivor rule book"... but in this case it seems like a "killer rule book" to me. I am not obligated to help with your "Tombstone Myers 4k"
OK, nice hypocrisy, but what if he was just waiting there to let the survivor pass through ?
It feels wrong right ? Both were just as petty and unrespectful, but still that situation should be prevented by the devs for the good of the community ... (I would be grumbling that myers needs love from the devs)
And stop about that rulebook argument, if you play both sides it seems pointless and useless.

Achievements aren't part of the base gameplay, using the argument that a match couldn't be completed or played to the end because of an achievement is silly.
I've told this plenty of times but I'll tell it again, I've given the Myers his kills before for Tombstone, and multiple times they've already had the achievement for years, so I'm absolutely going to be hopping into lockers at any point in the match if I can't make it to a pallet, I've never had an achievement given to me and I'll never try to help someone out with theirs, either.
Archievement are implemented by whom ? DEVS What do devs do ? The game ! So are the archievement a part of the game ? Yes ! And thx for giving kills for free to this poor myers that needs 4 ppl to do that to succeed ...
Cauz if you are not bad at the game you litterally destroy that guy anyway (and if you are the obsession, hide !).
@Gabe_Soma said:
Neither of them should be banned in this situation, since both can free themselves from the 'game-hostage'.
Was the survivor petty? Yes
Against the rules? No
If I were him, I would have jumped out of the locker and ended it, I certainly wouldn't have waited 1 hour without doing anything, but that doesn't take away from the fact that everyone does as they please.
The killer is not entitled to demand the kill, and the achievement is no justification, in fact technically since his aim is to kill survivors he should have been the one to end the game first.
If i wanted to do this archievement again i would get destroyed, i played too much oni to get bad survivors ...
And it was a pain even when there was the rank system ...

They absolutely are part of the base game, things like throwing the rest of the team under the bus for Hemophobia, slugging and sweating for adepts, even things like the Tome challenges to hook all players in basement or get 4 hooks in end game collapse.
This all encourages more unfriendly and toxic styles of play to accomplish, this stuff is absolutely in the base game.
YES ! Finaly someone that play dbd and doesn't only go on forums to rage at himself in ten minutes ...
Disclamer : it's possible that killer did get banned but for smth else BTW ... And it's not even impossible for him to have been a cheater at one point, to have stopped cheating but having been registered as cheating and getting banned a few minutes after at the same time as 10000 cheaters ...
Id see the point of arguing about any of the above tbh i just do that enormous post cause i have time to waste ...

100 is too much. I didn‘t play back then, but I would make bronze, Silber, Gold, Platin, Diamond, Master (call it something more fitting in dbd) and then divide each one into 3/4 parts. It would also be nice to have a ranking list to see who are the best players.
100 is not too much, the biggest detriment to the rank system was that it was too easy to go to the first rank, and making it so there is a bigger scale makes it more bearable and would also show how much ppl play weekly ... or keep it at 20 but make it so there is more pips at the start ... going from 20 to 10 was EZ.
-
I think they should just bring back the rank system but with 100 ranks instead of 20 ... or 1000 that resets either every
week(edit :)day by one or monthly by 50% you gained in the meantime. -
The spiked boots allow you to nearly 360 at the start and gives you much more mobility, which feels so nice, like you will destroy on good maps, don't try to play billy on badham tho ... hitboxes !
Artist's map is the same but it's not a closed map and even tho that map has bad hitboxes it is still fine causeyou still have a lot of mobility to go wherever ... it's not that way in badham ...

evilest build for me is for sure slugging wraith on red forest.
Knock out, deadlock, deerstalker, sloppy butcher.
both addons of uncloak green and purple.
red forest offering :

temple of purgation+
Strategy : slugging as much as possible
Win con : bleed out timer for all survivors
Don't try this, most ppl will just dc ... and you will get a bot farm for points ...

I was maining oni, i now main billy ...
BTW spiked boots are crazy, they allow you to 360 at the start...

ah here comes the killer mains for another survivor perk that helps stop tunnelling. Decisive is already on the watch list, adrenaline is probably being nerfed in the newr future, now you're coming for off the record. Do you want the game to play itself on top of quad slowdown builds or press spacebar on a locker to make everyone scream outplays? Seems that way. Off the record is fine as it is, it barely stops tunnelling anyway and if you are really complaining about survivors making no noise after bring unhooked, it suggests you're tunnelling them anyway which makes you part of the problem and why perks like off the record and decisive exist.
Maybe don't tunnel if you know they have OTR, and I dunno, chase someone else?
Do you play killer ? And do you get carried by your perks or by you strategy, and if you don't get carried by these you don't have survivor of your level and if you get big winstreaks, then you just are tunneling with meta perks, if not you will stop that winstreak when you get to the top mmr (The matchmaking is not bad enough to not do that...).

For that version of the perk, 4 seconds was okay. Well, technically 4.5 because the perk was a little glitched, but either way the stun time was alright. After all, it wasn't an anti-tunnel perk, it was an anti-momentum perk.
But if DS is to be an anti-tunnel perk again, then it has to have 5 seconds of stun time. Less than that won't work.
No it was 5 seconds and a 0.5 animation, so effectively a 4.5 second stun ...

Tunneling is bad from a couple separate perspectives.
From a monetary standpoint, it doesn't make sense to allow and encourage a playstyle that removes agency and creates a miserable experience for your main monetary base.
From a design standpoint, it's extremely unbalanced on a casual level. The amount of skill you need to correctly counter tunneling, much less the amount of coordination required to make it a losing strategy, DWARFS the amount of skill required to successfully employ the strategy. That's bad design 101.
And from a player experience standpoint, it's extremely poor. You are ruining one players experience for no other purpose than an easy win that will handicap you later. Tunneling is something a lot of Killers, myself included, crutch on. It's not necessarily bad to crutch on things from time to time, but it can seriously hamper your development as a player. It will cause you to win much more often and easily than the rest of your skills would allow on their own and in turn, place you against better opponents who can and will abuse you for not being up to snuff.
This creates several different issues where Killer players believe themselves to be better than everyone else after winning so much and then they get destroyed by actually good teams. Hence we get complaints about survivor death squads, how unplayable Killer is etc etc. In reality, the teams were likely beatable and the player just isn't as good as they think they are.
All in all, tunneling is an issue and the game would be far better if it were functionally made irrelevant.
"And from a player experience standpoint, it's extremely poor. You are ruining one players experience for no other purpose than an easy win that will handicap you later. If you create in a game two strategies, one that is optimal, and one that feels bad for the other side, ow imagine that both are the same, then you have a reason to do the first ... I am not saying that tunneling is always optimal, but 1v3 is far more manageable than 1v4, and that is what needs to change one way or another.(that is an exemple that doesn't take into account every single thing there is...
"This creates several different issues where Killer players believe themselves to be better than everyone else after winning so much and then they get destroyed by actually good teams. "
At the same time, that is a matchmaking problem...
"Hence we get complaints about survivor death squads, how unplayable Killer is etc etc. "
In my opinion, Killer without tunneling is harder than survivor that gets tunneled, and even more if you purposefully do not take strong perks to support you. And getting tunneled is a win if the exit gates get powered before you die ...

Yes, but some situations are not under your power even if you are good (a God hillbilly on hawkings)

Nobody is talking about the original DS here.
Furthermore, "cand handle life without"... It is not about Survivors not handling to live without DS, it is just that the Nerf to DS made tunneling way more present in the game than it was before, because before, Killers at least respected DS. Nowadays DS is more of a mild inconvenience (it was like that before already for the strong Killers, but now for every Killer).
The only thing that people asked for pre-6.1.0 was to disable it in Endgame. Because the reduction to 3 second just killed the Perk since you spend around 1,3 seconds in the animation, so the actual distance is only gained during 1,7 seconds.
And when it comes to a Meta Shake-Up... I dont think that this actually happened. At least for Killers, the Slowdown-Meta was replaced with another Slowdown-Meta. Furthermore, quite a bunch of things which got nerfed in 6.1.0 got either reverted or (partially) buffed. It is not like those things are set in stone to never change again.
(I am also not that positive on 6.1.0 because the "Meta Shake-Up" the Devs intended to do resulted in nerfing some Perks which were completely fine just for the sake of nerfing them to remove them from the Meta...Whether this is nerfing Perks which were not really complained about that much (e.g. PGTW, Self-Care) or slapping Double-Nerfs on other Perks (Iron Will, Ruin))
"The Nerf to DS made tunneling way more present in the game than it was before."
False, before it was slugging, and now you just pick up, but you don't get slugged anymore, so it is just as bad but you don't get slugged for no reason ... i like more that balance of DS, and the only problematic thing about DS id that DS is a non-perk against nurse ...

How often does it happen that killer hit right after unhook? That depends:
When you dont have OTR: Never
When you do have ORT: Always
The difference are Grunts of pain.
Not all killers are dumb, we do have ears ...

I think ever since the hype of this perk died down people are not acknowledging just how insane it is.
If the hype of the perk died down it means it isn't as insane as you think it is, otherwise you'd still be seeing it just as often. Just look how difficult it was to get rid of Dead Hard.
I'd recommend you use it for yourself for a couple of weeks and see if you change your opinion on it. You may find that the aspects you think are "Insane" end up amounting to nothing most of your games and only ever help in the very specific scenarios they're meant to help.
It does do it's job ... and it does it well but you can just loop and gen efficiency is through the roof, apart from in my survivor games...
-
Off the record's secondary effects could be deactivated on a conspicuous action but the rest is whatever, it doesn't synergise well with DS anyway ...
And you having these effects assures you to be safe after an unhook and losing these after doing conspicuous actions would only be fair ...
But anything else would over-nerf it.
-
At least nurse is 1000x harder to play ...
I will not try playing survivor ...
-
Game mode implies to add hype and calling it modifier is trying to lessen the expectations of the playerbase ...
Maybe also the fact that they call that a modifier is aimed at testing potential gamemodes so they aren't called such YET ...
-
In my experience, in pubs my tierlist of value of perks is more like that :
The 1/5 and 0/5 are not in the order of value of perks.
I play mostly Huntress, blight, nurse, singularity, doctor and oni. And most of the time i try to run 2 or less 5/5 perks and 1 3/5 and a 1/5 ...
I play nurse with agi and monitor because i feel bad for solo Q players ...

BHVR has been changing the design of th game since 6.1.0 to help all killers get 4ks without skill. You only have to stand near your first hooked survivor and keep returning to it and you'll get a 4k 90% of the time. (This is for all new and median level players - not for those in high MMR.)
- You'll learn quickly how far to stay from the hook to not fill the progress bar. That teaches you distance for proximity camping.
- Your best bet is to hook survivors in the basement or where you can stand above the hook, like the upper level of Dead Dawg Saloon or the Gallows that look above the hook. The anti-camp meter is purposely set not to increase then, but you get the benefit of practically face camping.
- Run to a nearby gen and damage it and then move back towards the hook. This gives you a bit of distance and use that to get the feel about how long it takes the a survivor to run to the hook.
- There are so many aura reading perks and add ons for easy tracking, it's very easy to select any number of these to see survivors most of the time.
- Run Xenomorph's Ultimate Weapon in case survivors get a hook save and you want to find them without aura reading perks. You don't have to hunt at all because they will just scream when you run around the hook save and your terror radius hits them.
- Survivors can run Distortion to avoid aura reading, but by proximity camping, survivors generally won't be able to recharge their Distortion tokens unless they all run to a hook save and waste more time in the. match. Besides, BHVR will nerf Distortion. Expect a condition they will require for survivors that will be hard to master so the perk won't be used anymore.
- Survivors can also run calm spirit, but rest assured, you'll kill the survivors that don't have it. Besides, always let one go, that way your MMR won't grow and you'll be shooting fish in a barrel staying in a low MMR. Side benefit: if enough killers do this, BHVR will continue to adding mechanics and perks to help killers to make it even easier for you. Win-win.
Facts. Your welcome.
"You'll learn quickly how far to stay from the hook to not fill the progress bar. That teaches you distance for proximity camping."
BTW camping is a bad idea and saving is even worse in solo Q

Yeah but basement is death in solo Q in general.
"Run to a nearby gen and damage it and then move back towards the hook. This gives you a bit of distance and use that to get the feel about how long it takes the a survivor to run to the hook."
You could also not camp and tunnel btw

Yep, uselful
"Run Xenomorph's Ultimate Weapon in case survivors get a hook save and you want to find them without aura reading perks. You don't have to hunt at all because they will just scream when you run around the hook save and your terror radius hits them."
Anti tunnel perk ? Is there no meta slave at your mmr ? And UW nerf ?

No it isn't, the killer kicking gens came from infinite to limited, which doesn't feel substantial but is a lost cause in endgame if you have 2 gens left to protect, it ensures a more aggressive playstyle from the killer and reward early game pressure and killer litteraly cannot win a 3 gen scenario anymore, so you should just cope with it, and of course if as survivor you lose a 3 gen scenario you either messed up or had too much pressure on you from before the three gen scenario.
In conlusion, it's a nerf to killer's endgame and rewards good plays in early game and prevents 3 gen scenario to happen
@humanbeing1704 said:
You mean the needing to repair 5% of a Gen to stop regression?
personally I think the nerf was too harsh should’ve only been 2% or 2.5% like the old kick measures
I think it wouldn't feel so different for it to be 10% btw, so the killer feels like he does something and that the regression is signifiant, and i'd even say that the regression staying can somtimes be a detrimental thing for the killer and is just a worse version of ruin that desactivates and doesn't show when a survivor repairs a generator...
So idk what is your mental process to say that 5% is too much when even 10% wouldn't even be so good for the killer, 4.5 seconds of working on a gen is too little for the 2 second animation of the killer to be cancelled, not to mention that the killer's time should be more valuable than a survivor's and it being just twice as valuable afterwards is still not that much.
-
I only dodge lobbies that have 4 toolboxes if i am playing casually, which means rarely, but the reason is that i don't want a game to last 2 minutes when i play casualy.
Never dodge anything else because it's a waste of time.

It could also be an idea to deplete the killers power on stun ... That wasn't my original idea but since spirit exists, it could be better?
what do you think about that too ?
@GrimReaperJr1232 said:
No, because not all powers are created equal.
On Nurse? Sure, she's strong enough that wouldn't be absurd. Dredge whose power is to teleport to specific spots controlled/ determined by rng? No.
True drege is not strong enough for that. i didn't think about drege tbh.
@Hex_Ignored said:
for nurse and blight, definitely, artist maybe, but leatherface and dredge aren't that strong
I though that maybe it wouldn't hurt them that much, while nurse and blight getting stunned do not have any consequences for it. Plus some perks like ds would be viable on blight/nurse/artist even without a buff ? Maybe ?
@jonifire said:
I hope they return light burn for killers again. It was a cool interaction and counter.
in two words :
no thx
More in depth :
Lightburn was a noobstomper mechanic that was very one sided and that made wraith and hag weak against bully squads which could really be frustating to face ... It was interesting for sure though ...
@OrangeBear said:
Why is killer powers using tokens a problem?
Killers losing all tokens on stun makes no sense. Spirit doesn't use tokens but her ability is still movement based.
It's not a problem, it is an idea that could be more fair and give more counterplay to the strongest killers while not being too impactful on weaker killers in my opinion. it could be extended but i though it would be interesting to talk about it instead of just never talking about it.
@OrangeBear said:

Yeah, maybe it was a fun interaction for survivors. Not for killers though, if i was wraith or hag and i saw 2+ flashlights in the lobby i would just dodge because why would you not. Realistically it destroyed unaware killers and otherwise caused matchmaking issues.
Agreed, dodging flashlight would be the easiest counter.
@jonifire said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3637149#Comment_3637149
It might have been annoying for some, but as hag at least it wasn‘t base kit for survivors before, so only someone with a flashlight could distroy the traps.
I think for wraith and others like nurse and artist it was a good and fair counterplay. Wraith is a bit too strong now in my opinion, but I can understand, when people say it was annoying.
That was quite obnoxious when used in chase, even tough rarely came into play. And that is in my opinion the biggest nerf ever to hag.
-
@sizzlingmario4 said:
I think that'd be fair for Nurse but for the other killers that's not needed.
Blight and Artist ?
Bubba i agree but these before ?
You shouldn't get stunned as these killers anyway ... no ?
-
I am sorry to say that but skill issue.
You can put off the spirit by playing in weird ways, i will not describe how, but you can search on youtube, or ask about it in the forums.
Not every spirit plays plum bossom, so there is counterplay, that addon is dumb anyway.
Edit :
You can walk, crouch, not walk in the grass and be in a good map. And find techs and weird plays to put her off, if you are predictable you will lose the chase.
-
I will say huntress but i also love going against nurse, idk why ...
-
Idealy they don't buff DS but if they do :
either :
Remove all tokens of power.
Buff it to 4 seconds.
-
Ok, first i want to adress this :
Nurse is overrated :
-There isn't that much of god nurses.
-God blights and god huntresses are also terrifying.
-Nurse's reputation gives her the psycholgical advantage in games.
-She doesn't have counterplay.
-you mostly know what to expect, and can't be surprised much, there are like 5 addons commonly played.( how do you know that if you don't try ?)
-she isn't played that much by most ppl.(which means that most ppl don't have the counterplay nor the timings ...)
Nurse is definitely strong :
-she has good mobility.
-she has much more lethality in her power than most killers and can roll you at any moment, similar to oni(with power) at all times.
-she is extremely forgiving.
Now i'll get to the point, nurse has changed very much ...
Nurse now is like paper compared to what she was at the begining and survivors has had a similar change.
Nurse is quite hard to balance but, and hear me out, i think adding 1 second of recharge by token would be a nerf and would, in my mind at least reduce the problematics aspect of the Nurse it would reduce the following points :
-Mobility
-Forgiveness
-explosivity
I even think it might break the balance of the killer ... idk ...
pls tell me what you think ...

Real(pretty much not in order regarding individual tiers. )
For me now it's in order ... I allowed myself to correct but you mostly got it right, and i assumed you had a good headset on spirit ...
-
Personnaly i don't have any problem with the killer himself, he is quite unnerving to play against, and since he is played a lot, i find three games in a row against him tiring, not really annoying (#blight) but tiring more like if you played multiple times against a good wraith / ghostface combined with somewhat of the pressure of an oni in chase ...
-
And for me UW will be nerfed to the ground anyway, so if you don't like that perk, play calm spirit.
Edit: Sorry for the double post.

@SoteloSama said:
Lately it seems that most survivor perks have been getting nerfed. The latest one , MFT. I get it , fine , nerf it , but then you keep UW with its 30sec "cooldown"? Come on. Make it longer? That it only activates after you get a hook? Only 1 person can scream? Doesnt work endgame to slug and find the last survivor? Like this is all simple stuff but nah. Its not OP right , instead lets nerf a perk thatll extend chases by a bit. If you dont agree that DBD favors killers youre obviously the one benefitting. I dont see any fairness when killers can block palettes and windows for long periods of time and survivors only get speed perks to only have them nerfed.
Whenever they'll have fixed every single map and made all the killer around the same strenght, then they will be able to balance.
But I need to tell you that being a killer is quite tiring, right now, at least (Im not saying it's not fun) and being fair is like 10 times harder and wherever you agree or not , and i can tell you that the survivors in my lobbies are all better since 6 months and im playing since 2018.
What i mean is that the skill level of the common survivors is getting much better at a quick rate, and i don't think it's gonna regress any time soon. Which means that the killer level required to keep up is getting higher as well, and if you are suprised that killers tunnel, from my experience it's because if i don't get 4 hooks before 2nd gen to pop, you litteraly will most likely lose if survivors don't screw up, and the unhooked survivor is a much easier target, so if Im losing, ain't no way iI'm not tunnelling asap. (Am i getting crazy and alone with this feeling that everybody is getting better apart from me ???)
-
Killer bots are not on point for this exercice, they are at the point of the most basic things but can't compete in chase, so yeah, not happening.
And there is no reason to implement it, idk if you did ever but playing against bots only is bad, very bad mentally, so i don't think it would be better if you destroyed bots instead of just going next.
-
I would say that 3 seconds is fine with me, But if it is buffed, it should deactivate if you go into a locker.
Another idea is maybe a buff while the perk is actived, like a speed boost after the activation of the perk, like a sprint burst (IDK).
And i think buffing DS is unessesary, it's power level is already all right in the perk pool, and there is numberous other perks that need attention, I think DS does not NEED a buff, nor a nerf.
-
@Cyber686 said:
i think WoO should be basekit for survivors. Killers see gens and hooks survs pallets and windows.
In that case why can't killer see survivors and survivors see gens ? (I think it might be too much info) Edit : might as well make the wallhacks useless, NO ?
I dont' think it is the right solution...
-
WoO is a perk that shows how OP the resources of the maps are really, It is strong, but it is only because of the OP maps and the non-communication in solo Q, when it's preventing you from getting in bad positions just because of lack of information, as such it is a tool, if it is problematic, it also show that everybody is getting better at the game :
"Any tool is a weapon if you hold it right. - Ani DiFranco"
-
Personally i hate this map for 4 reasons :
Hitboxes are thrash as surv or as killer(play billy/huntress to see it clearly, and as survivor i always get stuck on something that doesn't exist, that may just be me).
The map is extremely wide, #holdW.
The map is neither indoors nor open, it's bad for all killers and surv get "advantaged" by seeing the killer easily, but loops are bad for both sides. And there are random things all over the place.
The layouts of loops are just confusing, the gen spawn is horrible and the color is uncontrasted.
On the flip side (what's good):
Hooks spawns are not that bad, for both sides.
The Bmain has some interesting features, which could be used well.
The basements are not easy to camp, since gens generaly spawn far, which is good for both sides.(camping hooks is bad for you killers, i know i am a likker main).
lockers placements are OK if you don't take in account the back of the Bmain.

I'm a Trapper main and primarily only play him. DS at 3s results in the survivor being downed again within 5-8 seconds from my experience. I've not been DS'd yet, but thats probably due to my playstyle. If you aren't trapped, I am not hooking you lol.
I do disagree, but that's totally fine lol. DS isn't something I feel is game breaking one way or another. But having more tools to combat the rampant tunneling by the lower half of the killer playerbase is sorely needed imo. Yes, that was a dig on the lesser skilled killers. All of them.
I was more speaking about it if you were playing as a M1... but yeah i do agree that this exemple wasn't on point. But you understood the idea, right ? Edit: maybe i am playing at a more sweaty time but a DS on me is more like a 15 sec or 30sec down if the tiles they have is good ... You could imagine a scenario. And anyway, what is needed is not a buff to anti tunnel but a buff for killer, IF THEY DON'T TUNNEL and play like you would want them to (basekit "Grim embrace" could be an idea for exemple).

Blindness does cause that drawback, nicely said.
Also
Ds is actually the counterplay to tunneling. DS shouldn't have counterplay other than 'Don't tunnel.' The killer has no right at ALL to be countering DS other than... not tunneling.
You agree with this, right?
I agree and i just think that DS is fine as is, no need to buff it, nerf OP killers cause 3s DS is fine against trapper...
If you disagree, play pub at the soft cap... with trapper against a good swf that got DS on everbody, it's annoying...
-
Not my fault to have an adhd so powerfull i can't play well(yep that's a bad excuse).
-
For me, DS going back to 5 seconds is like throwing a bucket of water on the killers (It doesn't affect m1s much since against a m1 you could go the entire map with a 3 sec stun, but it now counters nurse and blight(Whose addons are getting nerfed btw, love it)), while MTF was more like a tsunami, personnaly IDC, toolboxes and map offerings on the other hand, IDK, we'll see.
