I mean, if that kind of thing happens, what else can you do? It's like when someone does a hook sabo, so you drop the slug and put pressure somewhere else (or go after the person hiding nearby).
I'd say there are definitely times when slugging is warranted, and times when it's just an obnoxious playstyle. And it's only my personal opinion, but I think what you did is fine :)
sometimes people are the architects of their own destructions… and this poster definitely isn’t winning any friends.
-
Survivors have been super sweaty and super toxic when I was playing killer in the afternoon. Ashamedly I might allowed myself to become a toxic killer in response. Had a SWF that took 3 hook separation offering and map selection and all ran to a dead zone where it was impossible to hook and made sure to make lots of noise. Not even trying to be toxic but they got slugged because what else could I do and running unbreakable so I just spent the entire match stood there slugging when they got up and ended with 3K in the end. Needless to say I got some nasty messages for out playing a seriously boring game of their own making.
-
Camping is only as successful as survivors make it and they make it very successful
-
With it being October i'd like to play a little DBD and be scared but instead i'm thinking "i just don't want the hassle of dealing with nasty messages from people who can't take a win/loss"
-
Camping is only a successful strategy if survivor let it be.
You want to reduce the number of campers punish them for it with one kill games, yes it sucks for that one person but they just need to tough it out you aren't guaranteed a victory in any game.

It seems like most Killers don’t like good old fashioned looping anymore. They’ll leave you at the drop of a hat if you’re playing good and camp you like crazy if they can tell you’re playing bad.
Killers with anti-loop spam that stuff so hard it’s like they’re allergic to looping normally. Huntress, Doctor, Pyramid, Freddy and Billy players will go around and around for ages trying to use their power, when they could’ve just looped the standard way, ate the pallet and moved on. It’s actually crazy.
Are most Killers unconfident and rusty with their traditional looping now or what?
I never once liked looping, people complain that a killer camping/tunneling ruins the fun but it's a strategy to endlessly loop a killer regardless of how unfun it is. Certain loops were broken and would make it near impossible to catch someone and if everyone runs to the same loo then why bother.

Holding the game hostage on purpose is in fact banable and dc-ing is no, its punishable which is why the penalty is there but its not banable my guy
If you DC enough it is banable, also he would have to be taking the game hostage for him to be banned for it. So once again you are still in the wrong.
-
@JephKaplan said:
Literally the most boring and toxic u can be, holding the game hostage on purpose is reportable and should be more harshly punished if anything. If i get slugged then all 3 slugged and no one is going on hook im just gonna dc, im sorry but im not gonna stay in and waste time when i can be in another game or doing smth else other than sit on the floor. Stop doing it and maybe u'll learn to actually play killer and how to do good in chases etc. just chase them again after a hook thats the whole point of the game why play if all u do is slug
So you're accusing someone of doing something banable which they are not but admitting to DCing which is actually banable.
-
It's not bannable no matter what people are saying. It's not that toxic if everybody is using perks that punishes the killer for actually trying to hook people.
-
Can't tell you anything but to run for all the windows and pallets and hope to outlast EW3. One thing i can tell you not to do is to stand there and teabag him, the number of times i've left my charge to EW3 at less then a second only to see some idiot think he's clever by tea bagging and me getting EW3 and downing them instantly.
-
Just wait till there is some camping involved then everyone else will be around the hook doing nothing till the person dies then go back to gens.
I've also had times where i'm watching all 3 people on the same gen while i'm just swinging away with the killer nowhere in sight.
-
How are people still crying about NOED, either do totems or leave, it's not that hard to learn.
If i'm downed leave me, if i'm feeling generous i'll trade my life for someone elses.
Why do we still have to explain this to people after 4 years.
-
The counter is do Gens, but you actively decided against it and rewarded the killer with more kills then they deserved.

Uff i hate to say it, but i also had so far many aweful experiences with console survivors in the "high ranks". Im not saying all PC players are Elite, but what i have wittnessed so far, its no wonder we have those discussions in the forum.
If you think you've had it bad, i've been dealing with them since DBD released on PS4
-
As a brit "Dead Hard" would be a descriptor for davif about himself, "i'm dead hard mate".
-
I got this trophy and yes survivors jumping into lockers is a pain, but you can't blame them for not wanting to be out that quickly
-
I have been hit by DS when not tunneling but i'd rather it stay how it is.

Its because of behaviour like that which made them put that stupid dc penalty in the game in the first place
Couldn't agree more.

No, it's because they've had to temporarily remove it after it got hack. That also isn't an excuse to act all scummy because it's been removed.

I'm currently playing Deadly Premonition 2

I think that's a bug with the ranks. There's no chance of a Rank 20 with 4 purple perks unless the haven't played the game is 36 months
Doesn't have to be 36, could be 12 months
-
I sometimes like to play a game that involves no kills, i usually get a really decent score. It's normally when i'm on my survivor rotation and i get a killer daily, otherwise i'll do my duty and play for keeps. Although even if i don't don't camp, tunnel, slug i still get abuse.
-
I just leave it up to chance and hook the second to last survivor and see who finds it first, best way really
-
Not gonna lie i will always equip BBQ & chill. also not a lie, i always forget that it allows you to see survivors and isn't just a bonus BP perk.

only time I DC is when I know the games over I'm literally not DCing left and right constantly anytime I lose but you have to realize that the whole reason people DC majority of the time is because of OP addons/offerings lmao
Doesn't make it right, you're basically just saying i'm DCing because i can't get an easy win. I seriously doubt anything is broken & OP, people would just rather quit then learn to counter it.

Lmao, okay. I’m an entitled survivor main, even though I hardly ever play survivor at all.
- It’s not false reporting for taking the game hostage, like you said, and for griefing by slugging all the survivors in the game and letting them bleed out. Those types of killers give the whole killer part of the community a bad reputation.
- I never reported anyone. Even if I did, it’s not a false report.
- Assuming that I’m bending the rules for my own self-benefit is not only the most stupid thing you could fo, but also completely false. Once again, I hardly ever play survivor.
- If the devs want to interpret their rules in a different way, that’s not my problem. All I know is that, according to the rules, messing with other player’s experienced is against the EULA. The devs can bend it all they like, but it’s literally a violation of the Code of Conduct unless they change the wording of it.
Let's see here a list of things that the devs ignore because they are not reportable
What the devs considering griefing
And something that is bannable.
All there black & white crystal clear

Hold up... I can’t find threads about it. Either it’s too old, or it was a banwave that included HACKERS that downed and let everyone bleed out. My bad.
The point is, the type of playstyle is certainly reportable and beyond a doubt a warrant to DC. Even if someone doesn’t consider it holding the game hostage, it is a type of griefing if you have the choice not to do so imo.
It got extremely bad back before hooks didn’t respawn and everyone had sabo, got a little when they let hooks respawn, and stopped by the time the dedicated servers got released I believe.
I do and can agree with you, in fact i have to agree with Zoomies. Taking the game hostage is clearly defined as "only being able to leave the match by DCing" It's not up for interpretation, if you've been slugged you have to wait 4 minutes and then the game will end. You are basically making up what the rule is to fit your own narrative and filing false reports against someone not doing anything wrong all the while breaking the rules yourself based on your own self beneficial interpretation of the rules. I have found a post from a Dev on this sitewho has confirmed that only slugging and not using the hooks isn't very nice but it isn't bannable.
You are an entitled survivor who is making up his own rules which doesn't match the rules that the devs have set and are creating false reports against people breaking your made up rules.

I believe you’re either going out of your way to try and find something to get people mad about, or you’re being ignorant.
A killer that doesn’t hook, but slugs everyone AND LETS THEM BLEED OUT instead of hooking them is purposely making the game a horrible experience for survivors. They’re using the slugging mechanic in a way that it was not meant to be used, and there was a ban wave in the distant past when people got tired of the game and constantly did it every game. If you need even MORE context, imagine 4 survivors sitting on the ground and being forced to do nothing until they all bleed out and the game ends.
Abusing mechanics given to you to make other people miserable while playing the game WITH THE INTENT TO DO EXACTLY THAT is a violation.
I have not heard of that happening before, would you be able to share a link to it.

Or DC By Daylight: We Don't Punish You.
Unless the Devs re-impliment DCs, and punish everyone who mass-DC'd during this downtime; I'm done.
I'm done having viable Killers nerfed to appease the worst Survivor players.
I'm done being verbally abused at the end of a match because I did not follow the Survivor Rulebook.
And I'm done having people DC because '<Random excuse> don't deserve 4Ks!'
The devs have 0 idea how to handle this game, and they are digging it into a grave in an attempt to appease the lowest skill-level players and people who scream really loud.
It's kind of why i only play a little bit here and there now instead of regularly.

Hackers gave TrU3 a 72 hour ban timer some how
At this point they need to change the tag line
Dead by Daylight: Someone always trying to ruin your game.

I'm haven't been keeping up to date, why was the DC penalty removed?

Going out of your way to slug everyone and forced them to boringly wait until they bleed out every game is against the rules. Read my previous comment about the EULA rules if you don’t think so.
Killers who do stuff like that are also the ones that inflate the bad rep killers get.
So i read your previous post as you suggested and what i took away from it is despite the fact that slugging is allowed, because you find that type of play tactic boring you should be allowed to report them and break the DC rule. At least that what i'm taking away from it, if i found people using DS unfun & boring would i be allowed to report everyone who uses it for ruining my enjoyment?
-

Going out of your way to make sure everyone is laying on the ground and bleeding out? I would DC and report for that. Even if it isn’t technically ‘holding the game hostage’ in the dev’s standards, it’s ruining the experience for others as well as holding the game hostage. Survivors can’t do anything but crawl around until they bleed out.
Exactly you'll bleed out & leave the game, all you're doing is setting a double standard. "I'm going to report this person for doing nothing wrong and then i'm going to DC which isn't allowed because i should be allowed to break the rules".
-

You’re actively denying points or pips because you don’t like that they won. Either everyone will start to be put on hooks, or someone has unbreakable and will restart the team. The only reason you should DC is if the killer is holding the game hostage by slugging and not picking anyone up.
Thats not holding the game hostage or a reason to DC.
-
This is sad to see, they had to add it in the first place because DCing had gotten out of hand and now they've removed it.
-
@NooseLikeANecklace said:
Personally I think DC penalties are dumb. Mori's, boring builds, and some overall killers/addons are boring to face, DBD is too casual to have a DC penalty, but don't worry it's always the survivors fault because we can't blame killers ever :)
Had a match as the killer where my left side was covered by the brutal killer result from the previous game, didn't DC, didn't stand in the corner & didn't get a single kill but i tried anyway.
-
You know how many times survivors would stand in the open to tea bag me as the shape. If a Shape tiers 3 with both tombstone and the infinite super quick, it's because the survivors are allowing it to happen. Also if you have to call someone trash for playing the game, i think it says more about you.

Slugging runs the timer out. Also by the time you find that first survivor (contrary to what the forums will tell you) they no longer have 60 seconds.
I never think to slug till after it kicks in. Also it's personal experience of that happening
-
Don't blame people for using DS to counter tunneling & camping, but it's a bit annoying to hook someone leave, down someone else, hook them, find first person again fully heal, down them & hit by DS
-
Don't mind losing as a killer, do mind when survivors feel a need to rub it in both in & out of the game.
-
I don't think i had any issues when i first played because i bought it day 1 on ps4 after watching let's play of it. I didn't have those moments but i got to watch other people have them.
-
Like survivor that like to run up and constantly flashlight blind a killer and teabag, then they complain when you decide to remove that annoyance.
-
If you don't want to play the game then quit playing it and stop wasting everybody else's time with your self justified DCing.
-
Probably because they can't rely on their team mates to heal them, it's why i take self care with me but only use it when i can' get healed by team mates.

I play ps4 and it's really not that bad.
1. DC is punishable now, so there's a lot less. I see people who purposely kill themselves on hook because they get salty often but there are very few actual DCs.
2.The matchmaking does need some work. For example, when I was a rank 8 killer I only faced rank ones. Now I'm rank 3 and I either face rank 1s, red rank swf, or purple ranks. The oddest game I had was when I was rank 4 and faced rank 20s. It takes a long time for survivor but short time for killer.
3. I've been receiving less hate as well. It just truly depends on the person and how you play. I've made quite a few friends by being a fun, yet challenging, killer to face. There is occasionally a few bad apples though.
4. The skill has improved but it largely depends on your rank.
Overall, the game is better than it used to be. Obviously it's not perfect, and it never will be, but it's fun to play.
As my health went to downhill so did my mental state and this still doesn't sound like it's worth picking back. On a day where i can pick up a controller and not be in pain doing it, isn't worth playing this game just to get less of the things that made me quit
-
@shwag said:
Less dc's the hate mail has gotten worse but everything else is pretty much the same.
I gotten two threats that I was going to be swatted and hacked after two bully swf teams lost to me.
Kids will be kids i guess.
And all you get for going through the trouble of making a report is "it's not our responsibility"
-
@matchmakingworksfine said:
Pretty much the exact same as you just described. I could make a novel with the amount of hate mail I've gotten for playing killer. Dont forget to "follow the survivor rule book" so they can have an easy time.
It was also hate mail for playing as a survivor
-
@ActulCasul said:
Nope, none of that has changed.dc's are less frequent though, but you'll still have multiple in a day.
That's a shame 🙁
