IMO the removal of special flashlight interactions (lightburn, hag traps being removed by flashlights, etc) makes the game worse. When those mechanics existed there was a legitimate reason to bring a flashlight, because there were mechanical interactions between killer powers and the item you chose to bring. The fewer of those there are, the more flashlights and flashbangs are relegated to being18 comments 221 views last activity

I know the devs said it feels "hand holdy" or whatever, but between all the big content creators who have said they think that was the way to go (Scott Jund, Otzdarva, OhTofu, SpooknJukes, etc) I think it's fair to say that implementing such a system and tweaking the activation conditions (e.g. activates on a kill without 4-5 hooks instead of 6) would be a solid way of admitting they were out of38 comments 691 views last activity

Not to be rude - i mean this in a genuine, inquisitive way, not a snarky sarcastic way - but what not just actually do it? That's what I did. Uninstall the game, and tell them in the uninstall survey what your complaints are. It's the most effective way of making your complaints heard If you say you're gonna quit but then you keep playing, it just gives the message that "I might quit" is an emp9 comments 281 views last activity

Hex: Franklin's Demise When a survivor is injured or sent into the dying state by any means, they are inflicted with a new status effect: Clumsy. This Clumsy status effect persists after the hex is cleansed, and lasts until the survivor becomes healthy. Clumsy survivors are unable to hold items. When a survivor becomes clumsy, they drop any item they are carrying.0 comments 31 views last activity

Problem: Many killers presently feel like gens go too fast. The specific conplaint "2-3 gens get done during the first chase" is repeated often on these forums, often cited as the reason tunneling is "necessary" Confounding factor: Kill rates are currently around what the devs want, including numbers from the killers who do not tunnel Proposed solution: Make the total sum of gen times take the5 comments 131 views last activity

The updated QOL road map has the updates to slugging/tunneling (as well as camping) coming up in October-January. However, they're being tested in the upcoming PTB, which also has the folklore killer that the roadmap promises for September. I think this likely means that the current iteration of anti-Tunnel and anti-Slug is a preliminary test of a whole handful of ideas that BHVR are likely to p20 comments 351 views last activity

edit: it posted without the text, oops. let's fix that Since it was added to address situations where the killer slugs and refuse to hook, and there are mechanics being added that more directly counter excessive slugging, it makes sense to remove the bleed out timer9 comments 193 views last activity

I saw a streamer sitting in 2v8 killer pre-queue screen, waiting to queue up, and it said something like "expected wait time: 15 minutes" at the bottom. Is this applying to survivors too? how about normal 1v4 mode? Everyone I can see who's live is in a game already, and I would check but i don't want to reinstall DBD just to check for that one change.4 comments 262 views last activity

Solo queue only Everyone picks a killer and perk loadout. The killer pool is shown (optional, not sure this would be a good idea but lets people counterpick a bit) Everyone chooses a survivor build (can adjust to adapt to the killer pool) One person is chosen to be killer at random. Roll is weighted towards people who have not played killer in a while.5 comments 51 views last activity

Right now the perk Left Behind is almost completely useless. It also doesn't fit thematically with the character of Bill, the Left 4 Dead campaign level the perk comes from, or even its own name New proposed effect: When you are killed by any means, grant your remaining teammates a permanent [proposed numbers 25/35/45 - subject to change]% bonus to repair speeds. Multiple instances do not stack.8 comments 131 views last activity

...I think BHVR should put a wolf spider (a type of spider) on one of the maps as an easter egg, similar to the tanuki on Yamaoka I would post a picture of a wolf spider but I don't want to set off anyone's arachnophobia, feel free to Google it if you're curious though1 comments 21 views last activity

It'd be hard to do a killer for Final Destination, but a survivor from the franchise would be cool, and IIRC kim is the only character who truly escaped The List.1 comments 11 views last activity

Bring back the gen completion "bug" from a little while ago, wherein after a survivor is sacrificed, the next generation counts for two gens. To make this not completely unfair, have it automatically complete the Gen with the next-most progress, and do not let it activate if there are only 2 gens left.14 comments 121 views last activity

In Dota 2, a DC rate of 2% (or 1 in 50 games) is considered egregiously bad. Coming from that game, it's very weird to see people arguing against trying to enforce a less-than 1 in 20 disconnect rate (you can disconnect more than twice as often than dota!) I'm trying to figure out, what's so different about the community or the game that people in one see it as their god given right to DC, and o7 comments 221 views last activity

Added effect: when you would be forced to drop an item, the item loses 25% of its maximum charges instead. If the item is fully depleted, this effect does not activate. Synergizes with the item-keeping features of the perk and soft-counters Franklin's (though Franklin's still beats syringe)0 comments 11 views last activity

I'm curious what other games people play in addition to DBD. I ask because I suspect which other games people play may affect how they approach DBD, so also how (if at all) do you think that affects the way you play DBD?31 comments 591 views last activity

PTB is an abbreviation for Public TEST Build. That doesn't mean it's you getting to test out the definitely-final version of the next killer, it means the killer in the PTB is being Tested for balance and bugs. BHVR are going to try to fix the bugs - that is, if you report them! Saying "I'm not gonna buy this chapter because of the bugs" and not saying what the bugs are is useless! When the survivor is knocked down, completely hide their aura (in addition to all other effects) Gradually increase the distance at which the downed survivor's aura can be seen over the course of 20/25/30 seconds (distance increases from 0 - 32 meters over this time, at which point the aura reading becomes global again). Increase the length of the other effects to match this duration.0 comments 22 views last activity

I've been using Exulted to try to upgrade my toolboxes. I've just been using brown boxes, but sometimes I've managed 2 stuns in a match. All (3? maybe 4?) times this happened I got the slightly inferior Mechanic's toolbox instead of the Commodius. Is this intended, or am I just unlucky?7 comments 211 views last activity

i typically play whatever role has the BP bonus, and that tends to be survivor during the day and killer at night. i have a job where i wake up just after midnight & get out at noon, and this usually gives me time to play during daytime hours. however, because of seasonal changes in my work schedule i'm playing at the nighttime more often and i've noticed that the past few days the bonus for37 comments 861 views last activity

As you can see, the rules were: Play only as Trapper No Add-ons BP offerings only Random perk build I won't bother typing the results out as you can read them on the graphic, but I'm curious what other people think of this experiment and what it means. To combat slugging for the 4k specifically for BP reasons: If a survivor escapes through the hatch after 3 teammates are sacrificed or killed by the killer's hand, give the killer BP in the appropriate categories equal to having downed, hooked and sacrificed that last survivor. That way, killers who want the BP from 4 sacrifices can get it without feeling forced to slug to get it.17 comments 131 views last activity

As the survivors try to create order, you force them into greater disorder. Each time a generator is completed, an unlit totem becomes lit. For each lit totem with this effect, survivors are affected by a stacking 10% repair speed penalty, and a 10/15/20% penalty to all other action speeds - healing, cleansing, blessing, unlocking chests, and opening exit gates15 comments 151 views last activity

In Dota, there's a rating called "behavior score" or something like that, which is a reflection of how positive your interactions are in the game, through things like commendations in game. People with similar behavior scores are placed together in order to punish ruder players and reward nicer ones Is there something like that in DBD? I see people talking all the time about how survivors are so6 comments 132 views last activity

The way it currently is, the perk encourages just flat-out hiding, and it recharges fast enough and terror radii are big enough where you can just constantly have charges against most killers in most situations. If the perk recharges in chase, it rewards strategically balancing when you take the killer's attention and when you avoid it.40 comments 602 views last activity

Instead of relegating Moris to just another BP offering, why not rework them so they allow killers to kill additional survivors beyond the final one, so long as you hooked them twice? yellow / green / pink mori allow you to kill 1 / 2 / 3 additional survivors with your own hand. the target survivor must be on their last hook state0 comments 11 views last activity

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/kb/articles/443-stats-march-2024 Not too much new stuff. Biggest surprise for me was seeing Myers and Ghostie in top 10. They ask for more ideas near the end; I'd love to see frequency of each individual kill rate per killer and overall. What does the community think about these stats and what other stats do you want to see?16 comments 621 views last activity

(Numbers subject to change) After being unhooked, this perk activates and gains 15 charges. Charges deplete at a rate of 1 every 3/3.5/4 seconds unless the survivor is under the effect of the basekit BT, is in chase, or in the dying state. Performing a conspicuous action instantly depletes all charges. When hooked, the survivor consumes all charges and instantly applies that many charges of pro0 comments 11 views last activity

People complain about early gens moving too fast. Despite that, current gen times lead to a 58.5% kill rate. Maybe it's worth having an experient where total gen time remains the same, but the first gens take longer to complete. This would be good for a game modifier, the same way Lights Out was. - Base gen repair time to 120 seconds -Every time gens are completed, remaining generators require 10 comments 12 views last activity

The wraith has some pretty cool add-ons that generally speaking I feel are of appropriate strength given their rarity, with a couple exceptions. However, there are a handful of minor and related concerns I have about them. First, it is frustrating that so many of them do the same thing, just with different values. There are: 2 Add-ons that reduce the time to fully cloak 3 Add-ons that reduce t0 comments 11 views last activity

I've had 6 games against the new killer since the new patch dropped and 5 of them sent themself to an indoor map (1 lerys, 1 gideon, 2 rpd, 1 hawkins). Indoor maps strike me as bad for the killer's power - survivors can just go around corners to avoid the power. Did some content creator I don't know about release a video claiming the opposite was the case, and indoor maps favor survivors?11 comments 841 views last activity

People may treat their teammate or opponent differently if they know they're AI controlled, potentially leading to different outcomes. I think it might be worth experimenting with not showing if a bot has replaced someone and observing any potential changes in player behavior.2 comments 71 views last activity

In league, people need to occasionally get auto filled into a specific lane role to make sure every role gets filled. In Dota, you have to play a game as a "high demand" role in order to earn a few games as your preferred role. One problem I see that comes up a lot is that people have opinions that only seem to make sense if you have almost all your experience in one role and never play the othe4 comments 81 views last activity

What's the funniest thing you can do in game for a silly goof, in your opinion? IMO while playing as Huntress or Trickster and you find someone in a locker, it's really funny to drop them, reload, and then pick them back up up again for the hook. Like "what were you doing dude I want my reload". The slow turn towards a locker you know is occupied is also great For survivors flop tech is goated11 comments 191 views last activity

When people say "slugging for the 4k" they generally mean a scenario where 2 survivors have been sacrificed, a third is on the ground, the killer does not know where the 4th one is but knows they're not nearby, there are multiple gens left, and the killer is searching the map to find the last survivor rather than hooking the survivor they have downed. I've seen a lot of people reacting to that t0 comments 51 views last activity

Since survivors are just skins and don't have unique powers, there's no benefit to spreading your BP across multiple survivors. However, it's wise to spread BP across all the killers you play in order to always have the consumables and perks you need for any killer. To get a survivor to P100, you need 100 prestige worth of BP, plus about 40 extra prestige levels to unlock all the sharables from2 comments 112 views last activity
