I see this piece of 'advice' often said to people who complain about solo queue and honestly I don't think it makes much sense. Part of the fun of video games is winning and feeling like you achieved something. As much as people want to talk about how useless rank was/is and probably same with MMR, the game still clearly tells you that you clearly lost when you die. You can run a killer for fiv27 comments 511 views last activity

Oni is my least favourite killer to go against, and on NA East he's kind of a popular pick so I see him often in my experience at least. I've tried looking up guides/tutorials or whatever and nothing reasonable seems to help for looping an Oni in his power unless he's brand new. Stuff I've heard about/tried: corner teching tree hugging dead harding at them when you anticipate they're about t14 comments 501 views last activity

So many people in the community complain about MMR being a problem, it ruining the game, every match being a sweatfest etc. and people feeling burned out of DBD because of MMR. People saying MMR is going to ruin the game and trashing BHVR for adding it as if it came out of their own heads and yet the reality is is that BHVR gave the community what they asked for. What I don't understand is why49 comments 661 views last activity

I never really understood the lack of ire for stand still mind games with Spirit when it's basically tantamount to M2 fakes with other killers (Demo, Deathslinger, Pyramid Head, Nemesis, etc.) in terms of "outplaying" based on no skill. Personally I play Spirit and while I'm not a comp player or anything who can always tell based on animation if she's actually phasing or not, common sense normal25 comments 461 views last activity

Like what is up with the refusal to acknowledge the rampant hacking since this forced SBMM you lot implemented? These hackers are holding people hostage in both roles. Even after EGC is over they can keep the game going on for multiple hours until the servers reset. And players affected can't do anything because if they dc they'll just get more and more DC penalties. The new reality in SBMM i0 comments 1 views last activity

This isn't X side complaining about Y side's meta or vice versa. It's an observation about how "mains" of each role tend to react and speak about the meta of the role they play on. For example, I've noticed that veterans in general, but more specifically killer main veterans will speak lowly of killer meta builds and even to the extent of just the use of slowdowns in general. This is something I don't understand with some players of the game. I frequently run into people who bring map offerings and I personally draw the line there. It's one thing to bring strong perks and add ons but it's entirely different, and in my opinion to many extents more impactful to bring a map offering than any of the aforementioned things. These types of players almost always bring offerin23 comments 212 views last activity

In its current state, you have to disable end game chat every time you log on. I think a setting where you can disable end game chat permanently until you toggle it back on would be nice for PC players who don't want to see end game chat and may forget to do so since you need to disable it every time you log in. As we all know the end game chat is a bedroom for toxicity and it would be nice to ha0 comments 1 views last activity

Something I've noticed particularly since Blight's changes, particularly where he became more compatible with console, is basically the same three perks, same playstyle, and so on. Always ruin undying tinkerer, fourth perk is bbq or another slowdown. As of late, I've noticed really sweaty add ons like alchemist ring or something like that accompanied with it, and sometimes even map offerings to t77 comments 1,191 views last activity

I see lots of people cheering for the Stridor nerf, being thankful that Spirit is even a little bit more counterable if you bring a perk, but I don't think people realise that all this does is encourage Spirit players to use slowdown perks, or if they already do, stack them. I play Spirit and I don't run any slowdowns; the most I would use is Sloppy and I even preferred other perks over it. Wit22 comments 421 views last activity

For the 5th year anniversary event, players have only been able to receive one crown for Legion, unlike in the previous event where Legion received two; one for Frank and Julie, and received both upon collecting the crown once. Receiving the crown twice in the current anniversary event, even if you play Julie, does not give you the crown. People have been asking, why doesn't Legion have two crow1 comments 51 views last activity

I started this game a little under a year ago, and since I've started I've not encountered many bugs. When I first started in the game there was the bug where you could not move if you got downed at the corners of rocks, but since then really the worst thing I've experienced was the de-sync issue with the Twins chapter I think. It's not to say throughout the game's history that there have not bee13 comments 361 views last activity

The new Coldwind's brightness is actually deplorable to play on. It's way too bright and makes it difficult to see almost anything: auras of any colour (especially yellow ones like from Surveillance/Discordance/Better Together), scratch marks (particularly ones in colour blind settings), and survivors in general. This also impacts how the corn is shown because in old Coldwind, the corn had a cont0 comments 11 views last activity

I swear they made this map worse. The map is so damn bright (even without filters) to where I struggle to see scratch marks and see survivors. The corn is significantly worse and they made it thicker than before and overall made corn blindness worse.11 comments 121 views last activity

By killer veteran I mean a person who has loads of time in the game and particularly/primarily plays killer. Survivor veteran, plays primarily survivor (or that's where their strength is at, at least) I'm not a veteran myself, but when I talk to other killer veterans and ask for advice, some streamers and some just regular players, they tend to say similar things, such as if you want to get bett2 comments 101 views last activity

This is something I've been thinking about lately, that for the most part survivor meta perks are useless and to an extent detrimental to use in solo queue. I'll explain below. There are some meta perks that have an all-purpose use whether you be in a SWF or solo queue, such as Sprint Burst/Dead Hard or Iron will, but in my head the majority of survivor meta perks are more geared towards SWF ins4 comments 71 views last activity

I think the explanations as to why Dead Hard is such a busted and unfair perk is pretty simply explained, but yet you have some people who don't quite get it and think it's just simple to "bait it out" when that only works on bad players. The problem with Dead Hard is that it's a ctrl+z command for survivors in an exhaustion perk, and is the only exhaustion perk that is all reward, no risk, and130 comments 4,011 views last activity

There are lots of maps in this game, and there are many where you basically have to use certain strategies to win for the most part, but I'm only aware of a few. I think a common example is Azarov's Wresting Place and Suffocation Pit, you pretty much have to 3gen if you want to win. Are there any other specific strategies on other maps a killer generally has to follow in order to win?14 comments 141 views last activity

The more I play killer, the more I've noticed something like this: Survivors are justified in genrushing, but killers can't do the equivalent, which is tunnelling and sometimes even camping also. Survivors' objectives are to do gens, killers are to kill. It seems like tunnelling/camping is frowned upon in any circumstance Running slowdown perks as killer is boring, overkill, and trite and is c17 comments 162 views last activity

Lately I've not been the most enthused to play DBD. The most I can play is like three games in a given day if I feel like playing before wanting to log off. Before I would be able to play for hours at a time, and now I get extremely bored and/or annoyed after just a few games. I stopped to question myself why. I try on different builds, different killers. Still the same fatigue. But no matter w0 comments 31 views last activity

By flashlight survivors, I don't simply just mean a survivor who brings a flashlight, but more so how they use it. Flashlight saves are absolutely not a problem and I give props to any survivors who at the very least attempt to do it, if not pull it off. But 90% of the survivors I encounter who use flashlights don't bring them to try and get saves but just to be obnoxious. Blinding you at every3 comments 41 views last activity

There are not many choices when it comes to generator regression perks. You have pop, you have ruin, and then you have surge. The former two are meta, surge is a more modest perk, but there are many killers it is not good to run on as many/most of their downs are from their powers. Killers such as Blight, Plague, Demo, Trapper, so on. Surge should apply to not only basic attacks, but powers. An4 comments 51 views last activity

Lately I have been playing a lot of doctor, and I've noticed I am a lot more prone to whiffing with him compared to other M1 killers. So much so to the point where I have to use stretched resolution while playing Doctor to slightly alleviate the issue, and for whatever reason it works. I also tend to whiff a lot with Spirit, even when I'm hitting while not phasing. Does anyone else have kille21 comments 251 views last activity

Borrowed Time is often described as a perk to prevent tunnelling/camping/whichever, and to protect the unhookee from the aforementioned effects. However some survivors abuse this immunity and use it as a protection hit for their teammates, and at this point it functions as a temporary Mettle of Man or styptic. The immunity should be disabled if activated upon taking a protection hit, and becaus7 comments 61 views last activity

This is something I've noticed recently, but it's like one in every three games I have at least one survivor bringing in a BNP. I don't get it--why? Generator speeds are already fast as is. Even when I play survivor I never bring toolboxes because I don't see the point, and haven't used a toolbox in several months It just seems like overkill.2 comments 61 views last activity

There's a common thing I've heard, some from veterans and some from non-veterans, saying the game is too easy and doesn't involve skill. Tru3 is one of the streams who often says something along the lines of "this game doesn't take talent/skill, it takes game knowledge". Others will often say something like people overrate how much it takes to get good at this game and it doesn't take a lot, Well52 comments 1,141 views last activity

I normally just play Freddy but have been trying to play Legion in red ranks and it's very much a struggle. The most overpowered perk I run is Pop, the rest are generally information perks (Whispers/Discordance/Thrilling Tremors/something like that). Sometimes I run Corrupt Intervention or Surge. And I've been struggling to keep up with survivors as Legion due to various factors: This is what I'0 comments 71 views last activity

I've noticed quite a lot of people being embarrassed and/or ashamed that they play DBD, particularly ones with many hours. From my observation, it's not the hours of time invested they are embarrassed about, but the game itself. I've seen so many people, streamers included, saying stuff like "unfortunately I predominately play this game" or something like that and even going out of the way to dis27 comments 431 views last activity

People ######### about DS, Unbreakable, Soul Guard, Borrowed Time, whatever else. What I don't understand is why people don't complain about Dead Hard nearly as much. I almost never see it talked about despite it being at the very least one of the most busted survivor perks in the game. Dead Hard, when used right, is--to me at least--the most oppressive survivor perk. In chase, it's basically a90 comments 1,191 views last activity

Saying "just do totems" to people who complain about NO ED is lazy and dumb advice that lacks nuanceDoing this in a SWF is easy as you can say how many totems have been done. On top of that, in the case of some hex perks like NO ED, you can 99% some gens or delay completing all gens until all totems are done to prevent it. It's a different story in solo queue. You can't prevent anyone from doing generators no matter how much you try. Even if you are relatively familiar with totem spawns and56 comments 701 views last activity

This is something I've encountered sometimes playing killer and I'm never sure what the intentions are. I don't do this while playing survivor so I can't give my own experience from the opposite side. Personally I find it funny when it's done to me but it does strike me as at least trying to come across as BMing. What is it to you lot, in your experience?13 comments 161 views last activity

I normally do not run this perk when playing killer, but I've recently have been trying out perks I normally do not run and as of late have been trying out BBQ (I normally run Whispers) and I find that its value is extremely inconsistent when I play in red ranks. Many times I see no auras and I can it can basically be useless in terms of finding people. I don't care about bloodpoints so there's a17 comments 192 views last activity

Today I came across a streamer talking about the changes to Undying, and saying how it's actually going to promote gameplay that survivors dislike most, which is camping. The way Undying+Ruin is now is heavily promoting the killer to move around the map frequently rather than stays sat in one area, and I think he is correct, and I'm starting to think the streamer has a point, but wanted to discus89 comments 1,331 views last activity

I've gone against so many undying and ruin killers and I almost never saw surveillance used. Even in comp tournaments I saw surveillance not be used with undying+ruin but instead bbq or tinkerer. I don't get it Tinkerer is nice but it only is telling you when a generator is at a certain percentage, sometimes it's too late depending on the distance. context: almost 800 hours in this game, rank 1 on both killer and survivor and play both often. This is the first time I've experienced a game where you need hundreds of hours before you even enter the territory of potentially becoming mediocre, and then thousands for being eligible for even being good, and then multiply that for actually being good.
