When I started playing this game back in 2017, it was pretty much a slasher-themed game. The only other subgenre present was cosmic horror, but mostly in the lore about the Entity (which wasn't nearly as big and rich as it is today). That only manifested during gameplay though the Entity's claws that appeared on hooks on second stage, but there wasn't much more than that. The killers were all ba0 comments 31 views last activity

...but technical issues made sure it wasn't. Seriously, the game is having a lot of problems since the day the event started, and the worst of them haven't even been acknowledged by the devs! Performance issues; Server and connection issues; And you know that fun new mechanic on challenges that randomize your perks? Well, it's BUGGED! It doesn't work most of the time (but still shows the wro6 comments 111 views last activity

Wanna know why not many people are currently playing the Singularity? Just compare what you have to do to make his power work vs how to counter it. Let's see the challenges and limitations of each one. The Singularity's power: It requires a setup in a similar way to Trapper and Hag. It requires THREE different command keys to control (power button, ability button, interaction button. Notic2 comments 152 views last activity

Today I decided to have a few matches as the knight, a killer that I rarely play because I don't like his power very much, but still give a try from time to time. I had a few games until I tried using the add-on Iridescent Compay Banner, which has a feature that blocks an exit gate for a survivor when they are being chased. So, remember when the Twins had just been released and, among the many b4 comments 574 views last activity

I mean, we see maps getting kill-switched all the time, but a realm? Not only that, but one of the oldest, original realms in the game, which means there is a total of five maps out of rotation right now. I guess it's because of the map changes for the Twisted Masquerade, but still, damn, that's a new one.0 comments 101 views last activity

So Pop got buffed to something closer to its former strenght and Deja Vu got buffed to counter the 3-gen strat more efficiently: it is now constantly active. I understand why the devs did that and I don't think giving survivors tools against that playstyle is bad on its own. What worries me is that this may make the game less fun by increasing one issue that it still has, even though it used to b2 comments 152 views last activity

Way back in 2020: "We're working on it right now. I have designs for the menus and stuff in the pipeline... so yeah, it will be coming as an in-game option in a not too distant future". https://www.youtube.com/live/WXbh4jwENSw?feature=share&t=1348 How long is not too distant? Remember the perk overhaul last year? It was controversial, yes, but even though it nerfed a lot of stuff, it still buffed many others, giving us new things to try out and put on new builds. We lost Ruin and Pop Goes the Weasel? It's okay, because we gained Overcharge (and its combo with Call of Brine), Eruption, Thanatophobia and a few small buffs on perks like Dark Devotion, Jolt, Lethal Pursue14 comments 351 views last activity

Even though Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance is currently, on live servers, a good perk, it can have its value immensely reduced by RNG. You can only hook in specific hooks spread around the map. Sometimes you can use it all the time... but you may also spawn on a big map while all the scourge hooks are near one of the edges, unreachable most of the time. Sometimes you play on a map with multiple flo11 comments 251 views last activity

I get it, the change was announced because the rescuer having DH and not the rescued survivor would mean it's better to go for the latter one. But there's still a problem: if you hit a survivor right off the hook, they will suffer from Deep Wound and be unable to Dead Hard until they mend. So, you noticed the survivor you hooked didn't have Sprint Burst? Hit them right off the hook and chase them0 comments 22 views last activity

Okay, I got it, you wanted to remove special interactions with flashlights. It didn't happen a lot against Nurse, sure, but still, this removes one of the few tools against the strongest killer in the game. Unlike Wraith, the Nurse's lightburn wasn't a problem. And the Hag is being buffed against flashlights... but nerfed against anyone without a flashli5 comments 311 views last activity

I recently played a match in the reworked Mother's Dwelling, and I noticed there were more safe loops than before. And by that I mean loops there are long and safe from both sides, leaving little to no room for mindgames, where the only option is often to just run it until the pallet is dropped and break it, free extra time for the survivor. To make things worse, these loops were quite well conne1 comments 52 views last activity

Why is so much time put into making charms, which go unnoticed most of the time, but other customization options that got requested through the years never saw the light of day? I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about charms. I think some of them look really cool and a lot of them can be adquired without spending any shards or auric cells (the exception are the ones from the Rift's4 comments 121 views last activity

I just completed the Last Minute Hero challenge (unhook a survivor during endgame colapse), but I lost my count on how many matches I had already tried before I even had a chance of completing it, since there was ALMOST NEVER someone hooked during EGC. If the killer wins before endgame, there cannot be an EGC with two survivors. If survivors win, however, the killer targets the person on death0 comments 52 views last activity

So, many were expecting a robot or cyborg. I imagined it was probably some engineer of sorts, since you can see there's someone working on the machines in the teaser. However, since it emphatized technology so much, I expected more of it on the killer's look and general theme. Would it be a half-mechanical abomination? Would it be a murderer carrying multiple mechanical devices? What was it going33 comments 1,443 views last activity

Well, I was curious to see what the Skull Merchant's power was going to be when I noticed she had drones. Would they shoot survivors and damage them? Would they fly and attach to them to slow them down? What could they do? They reveal survivor auras, that's what they do. Other killers can already read auras with perks and add-ons. Sure, her power reveals all survivor auras within an area, wit1 comments 91 views last activity

Knockout was already a pretty bad/niche perk, right? Could be good for slugging, but only against solos. Well, there were a few things it did while not slugging, the most consistent ones being not showing were you are when you down a survivor and pick them up and, consequentially, not showing when you pick up a survivor. This might make so survivors aren't ready to do certain things, like enterin19 comments 401 views last activity

Remember the original, old Eruption? It was pretty much a joke, really weak, outshined by every other gen-slowdown and regression perk in the game, since it required you to kick gens early only for a way too small value later, and even with the incapacitated effect, the gen was still completed before you could return to it. It regressed the gen by only 4,8 seconds, beside making the survivor work26 comments 841 views last activity

I haven't played DbD a lot in 2023, and I hadn't many lobby conversations on the few nights I did play, but today I exchanged just a few lines with another player and noticed not a single word was censored. I tried a common word that ALWAYS got censored before and nope, no censorship. Remember when Freddy got released, newer survivors complained about it, and in the next patch almost every aspect of Freddy's power was nerfed? Haddonfield is a really iconic map from the Halloween franchise, but It's Impressive how it has always been a pain to play on. On the old days, it had the most absolutely ridiculous fence loops ever conceived in this game, where the killer had to walk around a building worth of distance just to get to the other side... and the survivor would have changed sides already while clearly seeing where4 comments 121 views last activity

TL;DR : the hex mechanic is bad on most perks and needs to change. Totem locations are still terrible and should be adressed again. Back in the day, one hex perk was meta: Ruin. Other hex perks were used from time to time, NOED being probably the second most popular, strong but still an endgame perk. No other hex had an immediate strong effect like these two, but aways had a chance of being c50 comments 1,461 views last activity

The issues the Knight has right now remind similar mistakes that were done to two of the worst PTB killers I've ever seen in this game. The devs made way too many weaknesses for him, being way too safe, as if they were afraid the absence of any of them would make him OP somehow, just like they had originally done to Ghostface. I was playing a match when I suddenly got a free hit on a Yui got who stuck in this unexpected bush that pretty much extended the shack's tile. There are bushes like that on almost every common tile in the map now. Jungle gyms, L T walls, you name it. They are aways touching a wall and extend the loop because of it. Is this a bug or intended?3 comments 121 views last activity

First let me start by saying that, no, I don't really want maps and other forms of content removed from the game. Usually I roll my eyes when I see a "delete this, delete that" thread. First I want to make clear that I know achievements aren't mandatory and you don't need to care for them. However, many players DO care and like to pursue achievements. I currently include myself among them, but I don't think I will ever get the patience to pursue one of the latest ones. The game already has some old achievements that are hard (Evil Incarnate, Skilled Huntress), insanely demandi2 comments 221 views last activity

I usually don't criticize cosmetics because I find the visuals and artstyle the coolest and most captivating thing about the game. However, while I liked the new announced Hag and survivor Skins, I can't deny I expected more from this year's announced Blightest skins. I loved the new Oni mask. I just noticed in an endgame chat a really weird chat filter effect: I mentioned a survivor had "more than 100 ping". Until then, fine. Then I typed another sentence with the word "ping". Only "ping" got censored, nothing else. Than I tried typing the word alone... it didn't get censored. Than again as part of a sentence: censored. Before saying anything else, I want to make clear that this is NOT a rant against the devs. On the contrary, I think they have made many right decisions and good changes lately. I liked the perk overhaul that shifted the meta, the increase in gen times, the base-kit BT, the grind reduction, the fact they were willing to listen to the community and revert an unnecessary nerf (Mettle of Man) after11 comments 431 views last activity

Wesker's pallet vaulting seems horribly buggy right now. After a when a survivor drops or vaults a pallet, it seems like you can't vault it right away. Dashing towards the pallet right after it is dropped only makes your power go on cooldown and get you stuck into the recovery animation. Against a god pallet, that can make you waste a ridiculous amount of time while the survivor gains distance. T5 comments 241 views last activity

On any loop where the walls aren't clean straight like jungle gyms, just running close to the wall makes ridiculously hard for Wesker to hit you. If you dash away from the wall, you will miss the survivor because the hitbox is too small. If you dash near the wall, you will get stuck on some point and fail to reach the survivor. And since there are technically TWO new maps with increased chance1 comments 101 views last activity

I've seen a lot of people in this forum talking as if patch 6.1.0 was the begining of the end, saying that it "broke" the game and even that it's going to "kill" it, that it was the "worst patch ever", solo queue is "dead" and soon there will be no more. And I must say, all this talk is highly exagerated. The patch made survivor harder, yeah. Solo survivor is too hard right now when you face a k0 comments 41 views last activity

For anyone who doesn't know yet, Evolve Stage 2's peer-to-peer servers are back online. It was a 4v1 game that promised a lot and ended up failing miserably before the asymetrical genre got popular with games like Dead by Daylight, and Friday the 13th, so I imagine many of its old players moved to DbD later. If anyone here missed the game, now is the time to play again. By the way, I already had5 comments 71 views last activity

First, I want to say that I agree the current meta is clearly too strong against solo survivors. Gen regression and gen slowdown perks stacked together can deny a lot of progress from the survivors, make the game really long and way too hard on teams without comms. HOWEVER, I've seen some people in the forum sugesting survivor games are "unwinnable" and killers are overpowered even when perkless19 comments 281 views last activity

For the first time ever, I got 5 stacks of Pentimento. A few factors were favorable for getting it. A survivor used a map offering to take us to Gideon Meat Plant. While that map is extremely survivor sided and I was playing a weak killer, it's also a little confusing when it comes to finding totems. It's also indoors, so it prevented survivors from finding the pentimento hex totems again too e4 comments 131 views last activity

To begin with, I don't think bringing Ruin is worth anymore since Sadako Rising. For some reason, probably related to people looking even more actively for totems with Boons (memorizing them too) and awful totem placement on new maps, I feel Hex totems are lasting for even less than they used to. I've spent whole nights playing with a single hex perk and it almost never lasted for a full minute.25 comments 811 views last activity

So, gens normally regress at 0,25 charges per second, which is 4 time slower than a single survivor holding m1 on a gen, right? And gens will now take 90 seconds, which means a gen at 99.9% will take around six minutes to fully regress with T3 Ruin. BUT WAIT, T1 and T2 Ruin actually make the regression even SLOWER than normal! T1 Ruin decreases the base gen-regression speed by HALF! You know wh22 comments 861 views last activity

Seriously, everything about it is great. It has a power that allows for both map travel and countering loops, but there are mindgames involved, which is great. I just got robbed of a kill because of this bug. On the moment a survivor start healing another one, you can't hit them. They can use it for the famous "heal tech" at the exit gate and that can make you miss them and give them a free escape. To make it worse, it works against killer powers too. You try to shoot them with deathslinger, you miss, and now you have to reload and that gives them the t15 comments 471 views last activity

When playing killer, many things are irritating, but few of them are as frustrating as getting a down but being completely unable to hook because no hook spawned in the area at all. On midwich, that happens often because there is no hook on the whole corridor AND on the adjacent one. I seriously don't get why the devs don't change this after months of complaints. This is the worst challenge in a long time, so bad it reminds me of the first three tomes. I just had a match where everyone escaped a Demogorgon, and I notice it had only a Tier I Jolt for a perk, nothing else in the whole build. No add-on or offering. And it was the most boring match I had in a long time. The map was Thompson's House and the survivors were all spread across the edges of the map. I was suffering from a bit of lag lately depending on the time I played, but today it's extremely laggy in a way that makes the game unplayable.
