I agree that all Killers should be viable in some way. (Before anyone says it, I know you can MASTER a Killer to make them good, but that doesn't help alot of them are just crippled by design.)

Totally bro, Sure there is some insane flicking/curving Billy players. But other killers have no unique mindgame/advanced techniques. Clown have the potential to be the best m1 killer in the game but they are more of a penalties then actually useful. I mean why does Jeffrey is slowed by his own bottles. Sure every killer have a movement penalty but clown shouldn't have one.

Survivors are still the one controlling the flows for all the weak killers. It's improving but it's not fast enough. I mean clown/legion/wraith have great potential with their powers.

Clown can control survivors pathing at loops, Wraith have speed but is not useful on chase ( the speed boost only reduce the distance you've lost during uncloaking), Legion have a good power but bad balancing (4s stun is too much , 125% ms is not enough they should revert it to 132% as the power is non-lethal anymore.)

You understand the point those could be deadly but instead they decided to nerf viable killers. At one point they have to nerf them too i understand that but why right now, I mean the game is not even balanced on most maps.

  • When i read your comments it's why the game is not improving. Nurse is the strongest killer sure i like that. What i do like is that we have to play nurse to win against the best team.

If the balance were correctly done then all killers should be able to kill the best teams. Same happen to perks the meta is boring and too much game changing, That NEED to CHANGE.

  • Everyone look at tunnel like the killer is bad, when survivors are doing generators because they have DS that should be fixed. As long as you are touching a gen the DS shouldn't be active.

  • Nurse basekit was not broken. Sure if survivors are potatoes and stick together then sure nurse is OP. If everyone is doing separate gens he reduce the pressure nurse have. God nurse smash everyone and that's because the killer is mastered why do peoples consider that wrong.

SwF can be very strong, I want to see optimal survivors against a god nurse. I'm sure that on lery the nurse get smashed , same on rotten field , same on Crotus Prenn. Of course i talk about basekit nurse not with add-ons.

Now with the nerf i will laught and cry once i will play nurse on Lery's.

PS: In before someone say that all killers have good maps and nurse have lery's and rotten field against her. I tell you something if the game were balanced as he should then all maps shouldn't give any advantage to any side.

"No one is asking devs to fix it except me obviously." I can't tell if this is a sarcastic mockery assuming I'm saying that nobody is talking about how unbalanced maps are or if this is something else. If this is supposed to be a mockery then I wasn't trying to insinuate that, I was just talking about many of the scenarios that would just be horrible to commentate.

I talk about the community by itself not you. I mean why do you think the meta is the same for over 3 years now. Yes because the community clearly don't want the game to be balanced. I mean we keep making threads ( buff clown/legion/doctor , remove these loops and that) then there are some asking to nerf hillbilly the most balanced killer in the game.

Haddonfield is in a very bad state which the new nurse won't be able to stop anymore which is the infinite with BL. i mean any rework won't do anything because they want to keep the same house as the movie, so for that they have to nerf BL to work only once per exhausion (stagger reduction only triger if the player isn't exhausted).

If you played against optimal teams i think you will agree with my point. To come back to the subject if you don't want a game to competitive you don't add ranking system, F13 didn't have it and it's fun. Soon with the Battle Pass and the new ranking system which they will begin to work on soon as you can see here.

Dead by Daylight is an asymmetrical multiplayer (4vs1) horror game where one player takes on the role of the savage Killer, and the other four players play as Survivors, trying to escape the Killer and avoid being caught and killed.

This will definitely make it a competitive game no matter how everyone don't want this to happen, myself i see as competitive and it's a good thing.

I'd hate to be a DBD commentator if they actually had tournaments (please don't the game isn't fit for that) Look at that skillful play! Going around the haddonfield house for the 10th time with balanced landing!

No one is asking devs to fix it except me obviously. (Balance landing on some maps is game breaking for most killer.)

How do you know they're SWF?

You probably would have gotten better emblems if you were another killer. With killers like Billy, there's an oversight that doesn't include chainsaw hits when factoring in chases, etc.

Because i've asked them and they are tournament players.

    @FireHazard said:

    @xllxENIGMAxllx

Your routing was good when it came to guessing where they'd go within the tiles, but your mind-games at said tiles could use some work, and overall you could've relied less on the chainsaw to get the job done. Getting instant-downs isn't everything on Billy, and since he's quite a balanced Killer, people can get around the chainsaw if they know what they're doing.

You shouldn't rely on it for the most part, but it should be used more so for obvious "EZ" hits, and map pressure around getting people who're unhooking Survivors. It should obviously also be used for mobility.

You should also do more of what I saw you were doing, which was faking the chainsaw rev but instead cancel it at the pallet and go for a solid M1 hit on the Survivor. You should also use the chainsaw at dropped pallet loops to get the Survivor to go where YOU want. For example you could do this by having the Survivor go around the pallet to a walled off side with nothing close by. This will allow you to easily M2 them with the chainsaw and than hook them and move on.

Another thing, flicking at pallets is a good idea but it should only be done at LONG loops like one of the Jungle Gym windows, the loop around the pallet, and also the truck loops on azarov as well! Don't flick around loops with bushes like haddonfield, gas barrels and tire stacks like azarov, anything with a pretty bad hitbox you shouldn't flick around for a M2 hit.

And while yes the trucks on azarov don't have the greatest hit boxes... if you flick in a precise way you'll get the hit off. You should also know when to chainsaw someone at a L-Wall and T-Wall by judging the distance from you to the window, the Survivors skill with faking the window vault, and your charge speed on top of this. Of course you can't measure the Survivors skill off of the first chase, but by knowing how they loop around the first chase you'll know to either mind-game the pallets with a rev, or when to flick at certain loops with them.

At the shack loop, you should also flick when they're attempting to go through the window after looping you around it once. You can easily tell when they'll vaulting or not from these subtle tells... When a Survivor vaults they kind of "magnet" to the window and can be shown sliding across the floor depending where they're vaulting from, another is that the Survivors head isn't looking back towards you... that's another subtle hint that they're attempting to vault the window, and of course if they have a med-kit or toolbox than you can easily tell when they're going to vault. This is due to when they vault the med-kit and toolbox will vanish from their hand a few seconds before the vault animation (after they've hit space bar) and that's when you know they'll be vaulting.

Most Survivors that fake window vaults look behind them to see where your red light is, or they might be smart enough to not look behind them but instead look forward and move at the last second. Those are harder to detect, but if they have say an item like I said or if they're "sliding across" the floor to the vault than you'll know.

One last thing, if you have tier lll enduring than you should use it with Spirit Fury. You shouldn't use bamboozle since hitting people when vaults are open is actually a good thing (with the chainsaw of course) and overall with Killers that use lunges like Demogorgon or chainsaws like Billy and LeatherFace... it's best to have enduring. This will help you recover from a failed chainsaw hit or just M1 hit, and if you have Spirit Fury ready, you can just hit the Survivor before they drop the pallet, they drop the pallet ON you, than Spirit Fury breaks it and Enduring makes the stun get reduced by 50%... So you can easily just hit them again after and get a free down in the process.

I'm telling you, if you have Shattered Bloodlines in your DLC list you should level up Spirit for Spirit Fury... And if you don't, than Enduring is still good to use on Billy if its just solo. And hey, if you like Bamboozle regardless of what I said... than you can just put Enduring in, and keep Bamboozle! Don't use ShadowBorne... you really don't need it. And keep Pop Goes the Weasel in your perk list, its very good on literally every Killer but it's especially good on Killers like Spirit, Nurse, Billy, Killers that can get to generators really quickly...

I was always playing enduring/SF combo a month ago but i decided that the hit were not earned you see what i mean. I want to get out of the meta as much as possible. Flicking is it your word for curving or it is a technique i use by with different name.

  • That's the problem. A power is suppose to help a killer in chase or not.

  • And an amazing fatigue longer than the goddess (Nurse) herself.

  • They did it's not a power anymore, more like a chase extender.

  • As killer i think those need some buff for sure

1). Clown while his power sound powerful well he does not because of.

    • Self-slowdown while throwing bottles
    • Long bottle reload time at base (5s)
    • Bottle toss have no effect except bonus BP (I think he should double the effect or something like that)

How would i fix clown here below is how i think will make him more then decent.

    • A second ability i would call The Afterpiece rage this secondary power will allow the clown to drink a bottle which increase either Movement speed or action speed for 10s. Once he hit someone the effect stop and goes on cooldown (20s as usual) (As on Add-ons Maybe ?).
    • As for the bottle itself i would remove the self slowdown, reduce the reload time to 3,25s , Make Flask Of Bleach basekit.

2). Doctor his power is weak at base here some thing i would to see added to his base kit for more viability.

    • Mouldy electrode/Polished electrode added at base kit will definitely make his treatment better.
    • Most of his add-ons changed because most is bad. + he doesn't have the standard BHVR has established (2 Ultra Rare - 4 Very Rare - 5 Rare - 5 Uncommon - 4 common add-ons).

3). Leatherface we all know what is the issues his power are not helpful in loops.

    • Most add-ons are mostly the same then Hillbilly and both need the new standard (2 Ultra Rare , 4 Very Rare , 5 Rare , 5 Uncommon , 4 common).
    • Adding two additional swing would help a bit , acceleration add-ons is pretty much useless.

  • DbD is three things which is why it's boring and frustrating.

    1. Gen Rush
    2. Always the 4 same perks over and over again.
    3. Always the same killers because against great team the cast is low.

For those unaware, one of The Nurse's achievements is called "From the Void She Kills" and requires you to perform 3 blinks and then land a grab on a survivor. Since many people have informed me that the Nurse is losing her additional blink add-ons I must ask, how is this achievement going to be achievable in the future?

(As an aside I already have this achievement so I'm just asking for everyone else's sake.)

There is still the 3 blink add-ons.

honestly, I don’t know what you mean but red ranks are meant for experienced players. The fact people use tha same killers cause they want the easy 4k doesnt change my point.

How can you lose pressure if you see him go to the loop then you seap right away?

    @xllxENIGMAxllx

Im sure this has already been answered.

the rank systems is not a competitive system like league of legends leagues but it helps the matchmaking since having rank 1 with rank 20 would be hell

I know why the system is in place but that change nothing. Ranking system is made for competitive games, I don't mind DbD being a competitive game, F13 have no ranks so noobs and pro match together and it's fun. DbD is not always fun because the competitive side can be seen by playing against optimal teams.

No one ever have ask himself why god teams are toxic. Once the new ranking system with rewards will come we will see how the game really is. Competitive will show itself every good players will battle to get the precious rank 1.

  • Maps are at 90% survivors sided you know that by playing against very strong or optimal teams.

A hour ago i've played against the strongest team i've ever played against as killer. It was on Azarov it was abyssmal for me, Clearly i was probably not good enough or the maps was simply too strong. I mean there was three T&L walls next of each others sure that is totally killer sided.

What i do think is that the RNG system they are using is simply BS. It's like freddy maps except that system was changed to be 5 maps instead of 5 random generated maps. Maps design is a problem which devs take way too long to fix.

He remind of a conversation i've got with a few other users, This game is supposed to be a casual game but the design is not. I mean casual game don't have ranking system, F13 didn't have it and he was more fun than DbD. Optimal team is the equivalent of e-sport teams. DbD having tournament is what i'm waiting for the game.

Conclusion : There is too much safe pallet , Jungle Gym , T-L walls next to each others and suffocation pit is the perfect example of it.

  • Red ranks currently is horrible sensitivity is slow , Frame drop which increase each time you are playing a game, Optimal teams seems to play a lot since the reset.

  • it's not fast enough for sure.

so youre telling me EVERY killer can have bad map but nurse cant? LuL

Hilly and tons of other killers hate lerys, every killer that isnt hilly hates coldwind farm.

Huntress on large maps or on maps with loops over which she cant throw (most loops in cowshed) etc

every killer has maps that makes their gameplay harder (a little bit pain in the ass) so why nurse shouldnt have 3 or 4 maps that she hates?

edit oh sory you were asking, (i saw too many killers crying about it xd)

well on lery, hawking she just punished for mistakes (you just have to do better predictions), on coldwind ofc its harder to move around but without that backlash she would still have best movement across the map and with best chase potencial its like broken?

Was just curious because lery is quite difficult already.

Dedicated servers are better ? i want to see some footage of how good there are.

  • People talk about console nurse without knowing the true power she has despise the fact she is limited by framerate and sensitivity. Trust me consoles nurse is as powerful as his PC counterpart but, PC players have a lower skill cap due to a better playability.

All i have to say put your PC at 30 fps use a controller then tell us how it is. You will see that you are bad and that's normal because PC is easy to play. Just for you all to know i've tried PC (i'm PS4 player) I 4k easily with nurse on PC because consoles is harder and require more skill.

  • @Xboned said:

So, I'm at a bit of a crossroads. I've been playing for a few months on a very casual basis, killer main. I identify myself as being a green ranks killer, skill-wise, but I'm midway through the purple ranks now.

Basically, this happened because I fell in love with Freddy and started grinding like crazy on him to get BBQ so I could make lots of BP and then spread that around to my underleveled killers. Level 39 and no BBQ still, but... I actually do pretty well when I play him. Far better than I do with any other killer.

I'm torn, because I feel like this particular killer is letting me play above my skill level and I'm starting to encounter increasingly sweaty teams. I've dodged a few lobbies now, something I told myself I would never do. The last one I dodged was an SWF group (all joined at once, themed names)that had 3 Claudettes and 4 toolboxes.

I don't know how to play against stuff like that.

All I really want to do is keep making BP, which leads me to keep playing Freddy, which leads to more of the same. Me sweating my balls off against survivors who've definitely been playing this game way longer than I have, feeling like the only reason I'm pulling this off at all is due to how boss this one killer is.

I haven't played in a few days now because it's gotten so stressful, and I'm frustrated that I can no longer take "break games" to play my baby killers. I like the BP I get with Freddy, but I also missing being able to do stuff like practice my hatchets with Huntress, blinks with Nurse, portals with Demo, etc.

I'm not sure what to do here. Should I keep pushing with Freddy, seeing how far I can get until rank reset even if I suspect I'm being carried by my choice of killer? Should I just say "screw it" and start training on killers that I know I'll get stomped on, taking all the BP losses and depips until I drop back to green ranks?

Don't dodge SwF i know they can be scary but if you fight your fear they might be the one scared. Freddy is a good and fun killer practice moonwalk and play snares they are powerful, What you do is you put a snare go backward for them to walk though it then backward again easy hit at loops.

No one cares about console. They won't, and should never take sup bar tech and controllers into account when making balance changes for characters. If they wanted to do a separate build/balance for consoles then sure. But until they do, they should never take controllers and lower FPS/performance into account when deciding on balance.

It's a stupid decision not to think about consoles because what bring the most money do you think.

Maybe you don't care but i do. If the game performance is bad and sensitivity with it, That's devs fault not us. just don't judge console community when PC are the worst one.

  • @SaltySwag said:

I noticed a lot of Nurses play without add-ons anyways, so I don't see why it would matter if they used reduction add-ons in their place...

Besides that though, yes she moves slower than a Survivor but she can still move and monitor where they go while 3.5 seconds go by (Or 4 or whatever) and 4 seconds mind sound like a lot of time, but if you're following them while counting down to 4 seconds it's not really that big of a deal...

You can still blink far to catch up, and you'll have 2 blinks so... If they evade behind loops and walls, you'll have to think more tactically rather than previously where it was more trial and error with little downside...

Which... to me sounds a lot better. And like with Freddy, the same can apply to Nurse no? Her add-ons to reduce the charge time can make her a lot stronger since the charge time would reduce that time heavily... (if 1.5 seconds is heavy, idk at this point ha ha.)

Will i'm a good nurse i want to see how great/god nurse will play her. I might watch zubat play her we never know she might be better in a sense.

The legion rework is still in my memory but nurse even with these change will still be a good killer i think. We will know in a few hours.

  • @FireHazard said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/744184#Comment_744184

Perhaps eventually all Killers should be more rounded together if that makes sense... Because this was a long time coming for her add-ons and even base-kit if you really think about it.

Of course she'll be a bit worse, I just don't agree that she'll be useless. Also, its 6 seconds and the opposite applies with fatigue as when the fatigue begins, so does the first blinks charge, so the first blink is more so... 1 seconds after fatigue and than the other is 3 making it a total of 4 (And you can still follow the Survivor btw...)

Now with the 1.5 reduction from the add-ons, it makes it even faster and closer to pre-patch... making the change kind of a moot point.

Nurse move at 3.85 m/s (96,25%) which is slower than survivor. While i agree the fact the add-ons was broken and most of them were unused/useless. Base kit was fine if a cooldown with 1s or 1,5s per blinks were added i wouldn't mind. but three second per blinks maybe i've been used playing addonless which deny my point.

I just don't like killer that are add-on reliant to be good. I mean look at Freddy he is good without add-on but clearly not OP his add-on only make him stronger.

  • @FireHazard said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/744098#Comment_744098

If you can down a Survivor with Nurse in under 30 seconds, than what does an extra 6 or 10 or 20 really matter?

If you were pro with Nurse, you can adjust to these issues easily... even some Nurses can down a Survivor with one blink after the first 2...

Lets be honest, this change needed to happen. Do you know how un-realistic it is to face a nurse at a loop? or facing a Omega Blink, Mori, Ruin Nurse is...

I know you could say "Than change the add-ons not the base-kit if the omega-blink was an issue...." Yes, but if you focus on the core of why Survivors have a hard time with her in the first place... you can easily tell it's because of how she throws any conventional chase method out the window...

What even was her strong add-on combo besides multiple blinks? The Distance ones and fatigue combos? You can still do that combo...

Same with if you double down on reduced blink charges, than you can be almost like pre-patch... Which a lot of people seem to agree was fine with base-kit.

If the base-kit was strong, than why does it matter it was tweaked a bit?

Have you seen good survivor against good nurses they still manage to rush gen. With a 8s cooldown he will be worse (8s= 2s fatigue + 3s for each blinks to reload) this is a huge deal if it were 1s or 1,5s people will complain much less.

Don't underestimate survivors even if nurse was game breaking with her add-ons good survivors still manage to do gens.

It appears you’ve misunderstood my intent, personally I have no problem with nurse, or any killer for that matter, becoming loopable. My problem is when something turns a killer into, like I said before, “an M1/R2/whateverXboxuses killer” with little benefit and disables their power. They could even make it so that the nurse can no longer blink through obstacles making her loopable but still let her blink with the add-on and I would have no problem.

I totally understood your point. This add-on make her loopable so why would good players use it if that punish her.

  • @Hailoh said:

As most of you are aware, Nurse is getting a nerf. This is nothing new, and it's something that a lot of people have been asking for for a while. Personally, I do agree that it's a good thing. I think that the current changes the devs have cooked up are really interesting and creative (The dev log for these changes can be found [here].). With that being said, I do have a few problems with the changes. But before I get into them, I want to explain WHY I'm speaking up about them, and what I think we all should keep in mind for the upcoming PTB tomorrow.

As of right now, Nurse is the best killer in the game. She's effectively a flying wall of hitboxes that can travel through walls. But even though she's so good, she's been crafted in such a way that there is no possible way you can pick her up on day one and expect to be good with her. Nurse is probably the hardest killer in the game to learn how to play (Maybe beaten by Huntress, but that's up for debate, and also not the point I'm trying to make.), but the effort that you put into learning her comes with the reward of having unstoppable power. But even with this in mind, there really aren't a lot of good Nurse players out there. Of course, everyone's come along a good handful, but they're pretty few and far between.

I bring this up because Nurse deserves to stay in this position. Maybe not with unstoppable force, after all, no element of the game should be completely uncounterable. But Nurse is an immensely difficult killer to learn, and you need a lot of experience under your belt with other killers before you can touch her.

Keep this in mind when we nerf Nurse. Yes, we're trying to balance her out, but while we do that, there are a few aspects of her toolkit that absolutely need to stay in. She needs to:

    • Have a high skill ceiling.
    • Be difficult to learn.
    • Be fun to counter (If the survivor has an upper hand over the killer).
    • Fun to play.

To this day, Nurse is one of my favorite killers in the game, even if she is strong. The fact that you need to work hard to get good at her has always astonished me, and I hope we can preserve that.

TL;DR: Keep Nurse as the strongest killer in the game, but not by as much as right now.

With that being said, here are those problems I have with some of the addon changes as of right now. Take these all with a grain of salt, as this is all just theory. They may be much better than I thought, but we won't be able to tell until the PTB.

    • Bad Man Keepsake: As much as I love that the Nurse perks are being worked into her addons, this one doesn't make much sense. Nurse depends on addons that help her find survivors (And addons that help in chase are certainly welcome), but not survivors that have already been in a chase with her. Nurse, in my eyes, should be expected to finish the chases she starts. This addon doesn't help with that.
    • Spasmodic Breath: I really love this addon, because I think it's really interesting and a good way to ######### with survivors' heads, but I don't see it having much utility. Forcing Nurse to turn into a basic M1 Killer with no power isn't helpful, it's more of a hindrance. Bump the speed up to 4.8 (or 5.0 if you're a maniac) and we're good to go.
    • "Bad Man's" Last Breath: Being undetectable might be helpful in certain niche situations, but not to the point where it's worthy of being a Very Rare. Maybe increase the undetectable duration?
    • Matchbox: Same problem that I have with Spasmodic Breath. This isn't really helpful for the Nurse, and the tradeoff makes it more of a hindrance. I don't see any point in taking away a blink just to be 0.2 m/s faster than a survivor, so don't take away the blink. Just increase the speed, and everything's good.

Let me know what you think. I might be a madman, but this is just what I think. I'll be responding to your comments as they come along. Please keep it civil. Goodnight, and see you all in the PTB!

Spasmodic Breath is a great on paper he increase variety for gameplay (Nurse PoV at least) but on survivor side it's just the run in circles that keep happening(So no variety). We don't want another loopable killer, we want more skilled gameplay then just turning in circle.

Nurse should remain the elitist of killer until another one come by. Nurse deserve to be the best due to time to master her she will be even harder now. I'm a console player so trust me the rare nurse we see will cease to exist. They won't bother learning her.

I totally agree nurse should stay a threat but nurse should be equal to a optimal SwF but the rest if the nurse is great you should destroy the potatoes and experimented survivors. I mean it's how he works for all game , noobs are getting destroy by pro players.

  • Yes Nurse is loopable who would have thought.

  • He will solve the haddonfield issue for example. Vigil may be more used for exemple.

That’ll trash BL, the speed boost would activate while you’re staggered.

Nope the speed boost would activate while reducing the stagger but if you are exhausted the stagger reduction is also disabled until you are recovered.

Let's pray Spirit is next. After all the survivor changes, map changes, pallet adjustments. Don't you DARE cry about these nerfs.

Nerf haddonfield , nerf balanced landing so only the first fall only affect the stagger reduction , nerf hawkings with unbalanced landing then we are good.

  • Always the same thing don't overact it's PTB. Where is legion today ? top bottom , Most of the add-ons are useless. They told they will change base kit a bit so i'm scared that nurse is no more the threat she was. I just hope that BHVR will lose a lot of players so, they can understand what is the problem.

Nerfing nurse while maps design are still bad for 95% of the maps is not a smart move. If i see nurse being loopable on haddonfield i stop playing until they fix it.

I do understand nurse add-ons was strong and all but, they have make them too much useless now like they did to legion.

Typical of useless add-ons nurse have now : Dull Bracelet , Anxious Gasp (it's a green add-on BTW) , White Nit Comb.

As add-ons Omega Blinks still exist but balanced like i have been asking (Charge speed is reduced by the same amount of the range the nurse get).

My conclusion : Nurse will be less powerful and spirit will become the next best killer in the game. Spirit players will increase due to nurse nerf, More DC will occur due to the spirit increase. most played add-ons will be the new omega blinks combo (Heavy Panting - Kavanagh Last Breath).

Anxious gasp shouldn't be a rare add-ons BTW.

  • learn nurse before hand. If you want to play fair on survivors play add-ons less or pocket watch. If you want a easier achievement use omega blinks.

  • Dedicated servers are fine stop complaining. Hitbox work as intended they are not perfect but that's normal. If hitbox were perfect killer will never hit you. Sure hitbox can be buggy sometime huntress is the perfect exemple.

Monto Yesterday video have perfect playability.
