It does be ause information drastically changes the decision of what play you make as killer , losing thos information is unnecessary punishing of all players with no compensation to reflect that missing part of the kit
If part of your build/playstyle is camping near the cage, then.. I have no words

I love the bug fixes..HOWEVER...2 points need to be made
1..hillbilly audio loop was fixed bit not his camera..AGAIN!! Seriously it's starting to piss me off at this point, this is rediculous guys..
2..the pyramid head changes..I dont mind the change to lessen the tunneling boost..HOWEVER this also makes killers who dont use that style weaker as it removes potentially game salvaging information, I feel there should have been compensation for this as it removes an integral bit of info every hook gives..as it stands it makes cages a far weaker power play and a power shift should be done..otherwise it's just a straight nerd just to prevent a few bad players from securing a kill
The patch does not make the cage of Atonement weaker at all. Cages disable any perks that would work on the hook or in the wiggle phase of carrying; DS, Deliverance etc. This is a really neat ability of PH as many survivors like to use 'hook' and 'wiggle' perks, which means this a great counter towards them.
Cages are good to prevent situations involving survivors (mainly SWF) body blocking hooks and hook sabotage saves which leads to them escaping your grasp.
If you're in an area with hooks a long distance from you, using the cage can help save you from becoming stuck in that dilemma.

I’m just saying if you want to get better at the game end game builds aren’t it they are pretty easily counterable if players are smart so not like it’s something too op to deal with but nurse is a decent enough killer for looping and map pressure so you could do much better for more points if you play around other things but if end game is what you like go ahead don’t let anyone stop you I’m just giving my opinion and I respect yours :)
I have a question though, do you use all the same builds for all killers OR does it depend on their unique perks. For e.g nurse has mostly 'finding survivors' perks (nurses calling and stridor) but would you make a build based around one of them or the theme 'finding survivors'?
Same with Deathslinger, his perks are mainly Generator auras. So would you build based on aura generators and affecting generators in general or completely create a new theme for the killer disregarding their unique perks
Sorry I sound stupid but it's just a general thought because I never know whether to use their unique perks or use the same build for all killers, but it'd get boring

IMO getting better without Noed and blood warden to give free kills would be a good step
If I'm working with an end game build, having those two are essential.
It's not like it's unfair either because it encourages totem cleansing. I've played so many games so far where not one single dull/hex totem has been cleansed.
-
Honestly needs to get sorted out 🤷♂️
-
Update on my loadout:
- Swapped Nurses calling to TOTH(Hex)
@RockoRango I agree with the statement that you can assume where people are going to heal and you can also hear them if you are close.
@PrettyFaceKate I took in your idea of protecting the NOED hex and think it'd quite useful to counter totem cleansers. I also like to use it as a 'trap', as when someone tries to cleanse TOTH I'll get notified and due to the increase in totem cleansing from the hex I should be able to give them a quick surprise.
- Switched Thanatophobia with bitter murmer
Many of you said that Thanatophobia is quite useless if I'm going for an 'end game' build so thank you for the heads up :)
@PrettyFaceKate I tried out this perk with my build and it has helped alot. I can see if any survivors are hiding near the completed gen and surprise them OR If they run, what direction they are going so I can cut them off.
I will probably end up changing my build thousands of times and trying many different combos when I've unlocked more perks in the future.
Keep giving me different builds I could go with and/or different perks that would help my 'end game' build that I have atm.

I would replace thana with monitor&abuse and get rid of NOED+Bloodwarden alltogether. If you look out for buying new DLCs, bubba and ghostface are good options due to "I'm all ears" and "Barbeque and Chili". Maybe Ruin and THOT are options to replace NOED+Bloodwarden.
Maybe I could change strats.
Its just right now alot of my kills come from the end game as NOED allows to down one of the survivors who is trying to get to the exit and hook them.
Then you know how survivors love to teabag and wait for you to chase them out of the exit. Well because of blood warden, when I come near the exit they'll find out they can't escape and hide, but because it shows auras who are near exit I know where they are.
But it's just I don't have any other strat ideas atm and I don't know if I have enough good perks to initiate them

Maybe, it's just alot of the time I get alot of kills at the end of game because you know how survivors love to teabag at the exit and wait for you to come chase them out.
So I use my NOED to down one of them who isn't there yet and hook em that way when I come to chase them there's no way out and because blood warden allows you to see all the survivors near exit you know where they are.
But i could change strats from end game to gens idk

I think a tracking perk would be better than thana, especially if you are focusing on endgame scenarios. I personally like whispers and BBQ, but it's up to you
I have tried Whispers in the past but it dosnt really help me as the range (32 meters) is a big range to look around and they can easily move around which wastes alot of time imo

Alright, quickie response:
I have no idea what or who you're insinuating, the primary platform that I consume my Dead By Daylight media is youtube and I rarely if ever watch twitch streams covering Dead By Daylight. The only time I ever do that is when a new chapter comes out or there's a dev stream, and in those situations it simply becomes entirely more convenient to watch it live as it's happening than wait a few hours for people to upload videos about it.
The only streamer I guess you could say I watch on a semi-regular basis is Tru3ta1ent because he uploads the matches played during his stream to youtube and I watch them there, so if the answer is tru3 then I suppose you got that right but I don't ever recall him saying that before.
"But the individual Skill of a Survivor should never be ignored. It should never be 100% guaranteed that a chase can end quickly," -Aven
Yeah, I never said it was a guarantee, I did say that generally speaking killers should be completing their chases and getting downs, because they have four survivors each with 2 hooks to cut through before they can be killed. In fact my exact words prior to that were: "an individual survivors capabilities just shy of what the killer can do so that yes, it is possible for a survivor to outplay a killer" so we both agree, even if our perspectives are slightly different.
I'm not going to deny anything else you said after that, especially since you amended that bloodlust is a necessary mechanic and you don't think it should be removed which was my only qualm about what you said, the logic of everything else is fairly sound. Although I will mention I'm slightly disappointed you didn't comment on the "heavier pallets" idea, I personally thought it was the most interesting part of everything that I previously mentioned. :(
Dam, y'all still going on abit this petty misunderstanding
-
Honestly because I cba to wait for the patch and you get around 1 or 2 gateous per level anyway, it's not like they're super rare
Besides they've glitched and so give 140% more BP instead of 104% so people are exploiting that to get more BP.
-
Because Candyman the film has been pushed back to be released in September time. The new chapter is going to be released around September time. Coincidence? I think not! Besides it would be a good way to promote the film as well. So there's strong evidence on Candyman being the next chapter.
Although you don't like Candyman many people do and he's a killer that everyone is familiar with. The devs aren't going to include washed up, unfamiliar characters because it won't attract interest

I play dwight at the moment as I can see what everyone is doing which for me is pretty useful. It lets me run the killer away from other survivors and see where gens are.
What level do I need to rank up the wraith to get NOED???
That's a good choice and a fair reason!
Also I'm not sure, normally NOED comes around between 10 and 15, it's not entirely fixed at one specific level. I've got mine at level 20 and sometimes at level 10. But in that region :)

Thanks! Atm I am survivor main but I enjoy killer as well. I have heard that NOED is a very good perk from all of the youtubers I watch haha
Same here, what survivor do you main?
Also yeah NOED is considered OP by alot of players as it can literally down the whole team if your watching both gates and no one is out looking for the hex totem. But it encourages totem cleansing so I have no problem with it.

Yea I kinda agree with that, in the game that I played he was pretty slow and when I hit someone it took a long time to get back to normal...
However there are perks like 'Unrelenting' which help recover from missed attacks quicker which is great with wraith imo.
Although people have alot of problems with NOED (No one escapes death) , it could be a good perk to have as you can sneak up on players and down them instantly.
Anyhow welcome to Dead by Daylight and I hope you have a fun time playing :)

He used to be my first ever main, really enjoyed his stealthy play style. I'd say stick with him he's easy to use as well.
But the only downside I had with him was he was only good for finding survivors rather than chasing them down and dealing damage.

Those you describe are unsafe pallets, there are there to be thrown on the Killer to stun him and run away towards a better loop or towards a low visibility area to attempt a juke/disengage. Learning what pallets are safe and what are not is part of the game for both roles, Ive seen Surviors trying to loop unsafe pallets only to be hit and end in a very bad zone without much chance to reach better tiles and Killers trying to loop safe pallets without breaking only to waste more than 2 minutes while gens popin' like crazy (this last one cost me several nodding facecamps).
As a rule of thumb pallets with short debris/walls are unsafe and pallets with long debris/walls are safe, also unsafe pallets with high walls that block Killer view might be used for a juke or even a disengage if you do it very well.
Ahh okay ill make sure to learn what pallets are safe and unsafe.
Thank youu :)

Yeah, but you said "sadly bloodlust exists" as a general statement, as if bloodlust shouldn't exist. Even in the context of "fair to play pallets" bloodlust is there for a reason, which is to prevent survivors from extending chases for minutes on end regardless of how "fair" a pallet is.
The game isn't balanced around fair "1 v 1" contests around pallets and loops nor should it be in the first place, there are 4 survivors for a reason and if every one of them could "fairly" outplay the killer for minutes on end then balance is completely turned belly up. The idea is about having an individual survivors capabilities just shy of what the killer can do so that yes, it is possible for a survivor to outplay a killer, but also so that generally speaking: the killer is the one winning these chases forcing a certain amount of teamwork to be necessary in order to come out on top. In this way the game is all about extending chases for as long as possible (not forever) and budgeting time appropriately for saves, heals, totems, travel time, chases, etc. in comparison to how many generators are left.
Not to mention, these pallets are unsafe for a reason, because there's a lot more of them so there's a lot more to work with there, they're not meant for you to stay at and loop for any longer length of time, something you yourself did mention.
And for someone as active on the forums as you I would expect you to know that (referring to first paragraph after first sentence), so no I'm not "implying" anything I'm directly calling you out on your choice of words (which albeit, is very nitpicky and I did agree with everything else you said in that post, but I've written this far I'm not going to bail out now) and what they "imply" as if Bloodlust isn't completely warranted and that it's an unfair mechanic.
Instead, of saying "sadly bloodlust exists" as if to imply bloodlust shouldn't or should be changed somehow, a more appropriate suggestion that I think is very suitable given the context is the idea of creating a second kind of pallet and place them only at unsafe loops. These are heavier, and stun killers for a longer period of time, encouraging survivors to get the stun and rewarding those who play these tiles correctly by giving survivors more time to gain distance and run away. This would also discourage bloodlust
Curiously enough, Scott Jund mentioned this idea in his 2nd ep. of his running series "Idea Review"
Yo chill, they didn't mean to make it sound like a rant, they were just saying.

Not every Pallet is 100% playable once thrown. There are some really strong Pallets at Jungle Gyms and Long Walls. Those need to be broken by the Killer, otherwise they will not get a Survivor here.
But what you described, small sides next to the Pallet, those are unsafe Pallets. You can try to play it as Survivor, but as long as the Killer is not bad, they will most likely get a Hit. The Key here is to either get the Stun and then get away, or to fake the Killer into an action and use the Distance to go to the next Pallet.
E.g. the Outside-Pallets on Badham are fair and not too safe. You can waste some time here, but it is better to not stay at the loop too much. Sadly Bloodlust exists, so those fair Pallets become unfair, since the Killer gets a Speedboost after a while, which makes it even more difficult to play the Pallet or to make it to another Pallet.
You can also try to combine two weaker Pallets and maybe get quite a good Setup. This works on a Map like Hawkins, for example. (But also only to an extend, since Hawkins-Pallets are pure garbage)
Really good tips here
Thank you :) x
-
@gatsby said:
There are two types of pallets
- Safe Pallets that the Killer has to break when you drop them. You can pre-drop them if the gens are going fast and you're ok with creating dead zones. Looping wastes more time in these chases and makes them last longer though.
- Unsafe Pallets that are really only valuable for the stun. These ones you have to try to loop because the loop becomes worthless when the pallet is down. Hawkins and Yamaoka have lots of these. Even if you're healthy you should loop them because getting hit through the pallet and landing the stun will buy you more distance than just running forward
This is very helpful ill keep this in mind
Thank you :) x

so this question is a bit tricky but i want you to think about it if the question was about killer. if you got a 32k game as killer was it because you were doing well and justly rewarded for doing so? or is it more likley that the game dragged on long enough to max out your categories? The latter is likely true. This also applies to survivors. A surivor team thats gets a survivor with a 32k game is a team that let the match go on long enough to do so, its not really a barometer of skill so much as it is a measure of match length.
You running around the killer for the whole trial let your team do all of the gens and leave, you thusly are the most valuable player on the team because of this very specific outcome. you probably got the least BP but your impact on the match was significant.
That does make sense
I guess i just feel like people assume/judge that if you get the lowest BP on the team, your weren't really that useful or your just not that good even though you've impacted the trial alot

Gen jockeys I don't really have a problem with us they can be pressured away from gens.
They're also usually not that good at chases so there's at least a balance aspect to it.
Immersed survivors won't be a factor in in unlocking the category cap because they don't usually do anything so they won't get bloodpoints either way. If you unlock the cap so until 32k you can unlock bloodpoints in any category it won't affect the most people because they usually avoid chases and avoid objectives even going for saves as something they typically avoid.
As for people with object of obsession if they make a build specifically to be chased and they spend their time getting chased they should be rewarded for that fact whether they have the skill to make it a long face or not is up to them.
As I said before the only really detrimental problem with removing the category cap is literally hook farming.
But I still think it should be something that gets looked into keep the overall 32k match cap but make sure that you could basically earn those 32k unrestricted with any category.
Players who do a mixture of things will receive the same amount of blood points possibly even slightly more.
Players who like doing a specific role like runner or gen jockey will see a point increase that they actually deserve for the work they put in.
100% agree!
-
When killers camp its frustrating but you gotta think, he's wasting all his time on you, which means everyone else can do gens, meaning it's more of his loss than it is yours.
Least you know that your team made it out, where as the killer has just gotten one kill, hardly any BP for any of the categories and has just sat there doing nothing, how BORING 💤

@Peanits said:
Windows aren't meant to make you immune to any damage. They are a hole in the wall, after all, not a magic portal that blocks attacks. If you are within range of an attack, it is totally normal to get hit through it.
That said though, if you're getting hit significantly after vaulting, that is usually down to latency. Server side hit validation is on the way, and it should help with that. Basically the servers checks where everyone was when the killer says, "I hit that guy". If it turns out the killer was actually too far away to hit them, it cancels that hit. In short, if someone has a bad connection, the game stops trusting what they see.
I agree it obviously isn't meant to make you invincible to damage. But when you pallet vault, there's a pallet in front of them which SHOULD prevent the killer from lunging over and attacking.
If the player has JUST vaulted then yeah it makes sense that the killer can basic hit the survivor. But when the survivor is on the END of a pallet, the killer should not be able to reach with a basic attack only a lunge attack which isn't possible to do when blocked by a pallet.

@Boss said:
Probably not.
If you only repair, you'd end up with Objective BP only, but you're also one who is a big help in having everyone complete the primary goal to escape.
True but it affects your ranking and amount of BP becase you were not 'doing enough'

Simplest wany to look at it is to compare it to a football match: If you are subbed on with 2 mins to go and score the winning goal, the fa t you were on for the least time doesn't mean you were the worst. Likewise, if you had the least bloodpoints, but took down that NOED totem, or took a protective hit for that newly unhooked guy in his struggle mode who then goes on to do the gen, save another, etc., then you're equally as important as without that one action, others that folow may mever have happened.
But I just don't like the fact that i could be doing everyone a massive favour which therefore leads to easy victory for everyone else and then maybe I get killed eventually, but the reward you get for being a hero are minimum and you end up losing pips because of the fact that you have had no time to do other tasks
Sucks man :/

@Volfawott said:
Due to bloodpoints being capped it's very difficult to difficult to determine how well somebody did based off their points.
For example a gen jockey who pretty much did that four gens is going to already hit the cap for objective points. Now if they didn't go for any saves, heals or were not chased their average point total will be very low so even though they were basically a big reason as to why you guys escaped.
Same goes for somebody who spent almost the entire game running the killer around if they didn't get a chance to work on generators go for saves or heals their overall points will be low as they can only really max out boldness.
With the two examples I just gave these two people were vital to the teams escape however their points will not reflect this to somebody who did an average amount in the game but did bits and pieces of everything it would look like these two basically did nothing all game.
Honestly the one thing I would probably say they could do to combat this is remove the category cap so you can hit 32k match cap just with one category if you did really well in that specific action.
This would also allow for people to do more build centred around specific objectives. Runner build, gen jockey build or Healer build.
the one downside to this is that some scummy people might see it as a free pass to just borrowed time farm people off hook for maximum points.
I agree

You can spend the entire game getting chased get 12k BP while everyone else gets a ton of BP from gens/saves/totems/escapes while you die because the killer doesn't chase anyone else. You still helped the team a lot if you looped the killer for a long time, but your BP in this case probably hit the 8k boldness cap and you didn't get the opportunity to get BP in other categories, even though you were helpful for the entire game.
Generally if you get less than 10k BP you either got mega hard core tunneled or were useless though.
I try to focus more on emblems and my ranking rather than BP as they're more accurate of how YOU did rather than comparing against everyone else

The killer was so persistent he chased me all game until the gates were powered, then he stopped, I somehow managed to not get hit once through vaulting alot.
And then i managed to escape.
But technically if it wasn't for my long killer distraction, the gens wouldn't have been done, but they get more points because they've done gens, the killer would sometimes hit any survivors in the area near me but would still focus on me so the others would be able to get altruism for healing the Injured.

The mori is annoying but if you were to be downed, you'd be on your last chance anyway and so you'd get killed either way.
Perhaps you have perks that can allow you to get back into the fight like decisive strike, but that's what makes up his ability, to disable survivors from using such perks that are used in the wiggle phase and the hook.
You've just got to find a way around it
-
I mostly agree because running when he's close is just going to show them where you are and it's your own fault when your on the hook.
But if the killer is close sometimes sticking around isn't always the best option and so maybe waiting for them to move in an opposite direction or running when behind obstacles so scratch marks aren't as visible would be the better solution
But do not and I repeat DO NOT run near walls, it leaves such visible scratch marks it annoys me so much!

No the chases are to waste the killer's time for your team to do gens.
Get chased -> waste killer's time -> team do gens -> eventually lose killer/get hooked -> repeat.
Yeah you can escape but the chases are meant to waste time. If the killer chases you for 3 seconds and then you lose the killer... how much time did you buy for your team?
Are you playing around breaking line of sight? Are you mindgaming, trying to misdirect the Killer in your movements? Using walls/structures to your advantage? Like going to a jungle gym, you break left behind a wall and he cuts to the left too, to cut you off. But instead of continuing left, you break to the right. This will cause distance to be gained for you with the Killer having gone the wrong way and having to find you again.
Perks like I mentioned, QnQ to jump into a locker or something in the middle of a chase after you've lost line of sight with the killer. Same with Iron will, hiding in a corner or grass or something.
If you're just running through as many windows as you can, fast vaulting through them, he's gonna be notified everytime you jump through those windows and just follow you.
Don't wait at pallets. Know how much distance you have between you and the killer. Whether you have enough distance between you to go around the pallet loop again or if you need to drop it early to use that loop. Sometimes dropping the pallet early is good if the Killer decides to play the loop instead of breaking the pallet, and if he breaks the pallett, immediately move to the next loop.
Focus on wasting time, not losing the killer completely, cause sometimes they will just give up entirely on chasing you if you waste enough time.
These are some good points, I'll keep those in mind next time I'm in a chase
I'll also try to focus more on keeping the chase going rather than losing it
It's just I'm not good with mind games because you never know what they're thinking as well, they might know what I'm going to do idk aha
Thank you anyways, really useful :)) x

I don't know if this will help you, but I try to avoid getting in chases to begin with. So try practicing a more stealth like play style with survivor. While in a chase, remember you have 360 degrees of vision and the killer doesn't. So always try and keep obstacles in their way. You won't lose a skilled killer once they've started to chase you, but you can get them to stop chasing you if you waste too much of their time.
In the state of the game now, too many survivors play recklessly. Opting to get just a little more repairs done before getting into a chase, rather than walking away and being cautious.
True points but I've played stealthy before and you get bored of it after a while.
And it's not like I hunt for chases or distract them purposely but if I so happen to end up in a chase I want to know how I could manage to lengthen the chase to help distract them from my team or even just trying to lose them for a few seconds to put distance between

Depends on the survivor skill, killer skill, type of killer, type of map, what structures spawn, where they spawn.
Some survivors are just... gods at the game and know how to loop the killer so well that they never give the killer a chance to hit them.
Yes but they all have skills whether they have lots or not there's a reason or a skill or a tip on how they manage to reduce chance of taking a hit and how to evade killers attacks, that's what I'm looking for, any personal tips they use or know of that help them or someone else lengthen the chase/ put distance between them / evade them / confuse them.
Anything of the sort

you are not understanding me. To the killer, it looks like you are still vaulting. If they can't grab you, then your view is more accurate, but if the killer CAN grab, then it's the killer's view that is more accurate.
But if they are unable to grab me through a vault as my view is more accurate that should mean they can't hit me on that same vault, yet they still do even if my side is accurate or not

High ranks survivors don't try and escape chases anymore, they try and waste as much of the killers time as they can to allow their teammates to get the gens done.
True but that dosnt mean escaping them is not a good option, if you can manage to distract the killer for a while and after a gen or two are completed, escape the chase then you've got the best of both worlds, generators completed and you're not dead

personally i dont think that he would fit because
- how would he attack?
- what would his power be?
- there wouldnt be a survivor
- i persanolly and this is my opinion dont like fnaf
In fnaf 3 springtrap is the only killer, but he has phantoms as his disposal to help him and ventilation errors first became a thing in fnaf 3 so already you have two concepts that can be used for perks or abilities.
For a survivor you could use Scott Cawthon the creator of the franchise, you could include Markiplier as one of the survivors as everyone knows him and would probably enjoy playing as him and exploring his character as who doesn't live Markiplier cmon
My point is there's many ideas that can be thought, improvised and included, ideas can't just immediately come to mind and so if the devs took time to think it out I'm sure they'd come up with something amazing.

Mindgame instead of trying to run through as many windows as you can.
Certain perks and things help like dark clothing(BLENDETTE), iron will, urban evasion, lightweight, quick and quiet, etc.
And you're gonna go down eventually, just accept ti.
Not really, the whole point of a chase is to try and escape it, and alot of times I've tried to be the killer and understand how other survivors manage to escape out of my chases but because I'm not ACTUALLY the survivor playing at that moment I would never be able to understand it

whenever that happens, it is the only time a killer can get a vault grab BTW. So no matter how they change it, it will always be broken on one side or the other.
I'm talking about when they hit you with an attack not a grab.
The grabs are fair in my opinion as they only happen when you are midway vaulting.
But when you have vaulted onto the other side but get hit and end up 2m away from the window, it's just not how it should be

I know the feeling. There are even times when I play killer and get a hit that even I know shouldn't have connected. Or, when a killer gets a pallet dropped on them, but a hit still smacks me and then it registers a stun.
Oh my god the pallet hits when you stun them is so annoying, really winds my neck in

I think people assume that because he dosnt do much attacking in the fnaf games, that it's hard to actually identify how he would work and what he would do.
But i think having springtrap or my choice 'marionette' as her music box can be used as an ability, as the killer would be a great addition especially if perhaps jumpscares came into play with him as it'd be very unique and put survivors on edge.
