I don't like playing this game on comms or with people I know.
Plus I think swf can be kinda busted.
You don't need comms to play with people. It's no different than playing solo except you've pre vetted some teammates

I'll add on to that.
Basically anytime I move or rotate my camera the frames just TANK. It's like the map is unloading itself when you aren't looking (when those frames happen, I literally can see the abyss of not loaded textures)
Honestly though I find the map still sucks even when it's working ad intended. I think thencore issue is that it's based off of a very different game so the type lf layout works in re far better than dbd. No amount of frame rate is going to change that.

There are a lot of challenges that are just excessively tedious, particularly for survivor where the number of times you can do them per match is limited and you are competing with other survivors, some of whom you cannot communicate with.
A good example is Blood Debt. Even under the BEST circumstances of a challenge that requires pretty specific conditions to progress, you can only get 4 progress per match. This requires you to get hooked, have someone with 0 hooks come rescue you, unhook them twice, get hooked again, have another person with 0 hooks come unhook you, unhook them twice. 10 times. AT BEST, it takes 3 matches.
Escape 4 trials. Which means AT MINIMUM, 4 games. If BHVR's 2-2 statistic is expected, 8 games.
Compare this to challenges in the same tier, like Saboing 12 hooks, which you can choose to go out of your way and do, and potentially accomplish in a trial or two.
Similarly, but to a lesser degree, are killer things like hit people with your weapon 50 times or break 25 pallets.
These 'challenges' are not actually challenges, they are part of normal gameplay, you just have to do them a lot, to the point of tedium. My suggestion is that BHVR should lower the number of times you have to do these 'chore' challenges, so that you aren't stuck playing 10 games hoping someone who unhooks you goes down twice.
Live example, I am on my 4th game of the "Do 12 gens" challenge. I am at five gens. Not even like I am bad at gens, I am good at getting chased and killers commit to me for some reason, so it is not uncommon for me to get chased for 2-3 gens. Which means I am usually only getting 1-2 a game, at most, and I cannot in any way influence that, because the other survivors I am playing with are good enough to do gens, and the killers choose to chase me. (Current Count: 6 games, 8 gens. NO killer challenge took me this long.)
What's wrong with challenges taking multiple games? They are supposed to be well challenging to complete
-
Oh someone else mentioned a perk that you would get faster working on gens if the killer was camping a teammate, don't have a name for it or anything but you get the idea.

RPD might look good, but from the gameplay perspective, its completely garbage.
For killer its a horror, because its so big. Also half of the killer's powers get severely nerfed by the incrinate hallways, like Blight, Billy, Nurse, etc.
For survivors its equally bad, because finding generators is basically a matter of luck. Chases are really not great, because finding loops is basically guesswork, and hooked people often lose 2 hookstates at once, because the map is one giant maze.
Basically nobody has fun on that map, and its terrible for both killer and survivors.
Yah for me the saloon is the map I enjoy playing both as killer and survivor equally. Rpd is the map I hate playing as both killer and survivor equally

I switched to Clown and now I get consecutive 4k's idk anymore. I'm not a fan but it is what it is. Thanks for not telling me I'm bad but actually hearing me out.
No worries. Unfortunately I should warn you the system is supposed to track individual killers so if you find yourself getting 4ks eventually you'll play against better survivors as the Clown.
I think alot of this would be better if thendevs just said 2k or more is a win and 2 escape or more is a win bwcuase so many killers seem to think anything less than all dead is a loss
which is understandable its pretty easy to get a 4k with random opponents even if your not thay great at killer, even I manage to do it regularilyy under the old system (and probably the new one too becuse I doubt it works properly . )

As I do every 2-3 weeks when I get sent to Lerys, I am posting a request for an anti-epileptic option. I have gotten it twice today, Badham once, and my vision is starting to blur and I have a migraine. They made the flashing lights in Lerys, inside buildings, and coming from generators MUCH worse, and there needs to be an option to turn off the flashing/sparking.
If you max out the brightness on your TV does it help you? I find that there's less flashing when everything brighter

making SBMM transparent defeats the whole purpose of the system
You should explain why that's the case.
Becuase you can purposefully play badly to go against worse players weather you can see your numbers or not.
And if you know how they calculate the scores and people find loopholes than that's good befuase the drvs could then close the loopholes and make the system better overall
-
And by on time I mean before a mod sees it

Maybe this explains it:
At least that is what I think causes my sweaty killer matches: I usually don't do the unfun stuff like tunneling without necessity. Therefore the matches take longer but often enough I get 4k in the end. For the MMR that's probably a high count.
Well you just got this thread deleted. Unless you edit your post on time it's against the rules for us to discuss the actually system in place for sbmm.
Edit your post quick dude or this will join one of dozens of vanishing threads

Yah couple problem.s with that. One there's lithe and balanced landing for movement perks both are very good.
2 you seem to be implying that the only perks of any value are perks that let you run faster. You really need to try other perks, there's perks to help with gens perks to help with stealth, hell bt and ds are the two of the most powerful perks in the game and they don't make you run faster when you use them

Nop, even the first games I had sweaty players.
This is what SBMM does : it's a COMPETITIVE matchmaking, so it emphasizes competitive gameplay, which is a tryhard gameplay.
Everyone tryhard the game now, because everyone fears to be matched with noobs.
So killers are facing super efficient surv, so they have to bring their best builds,
So the few casual survivors left are destroyed by killers that are all now playing super sweaty,
So everyone is playing hardcore builds and nobody's having fun.
I always said that : doing Ranked Matchmaking ? Implement Unranked Matchmaking button.
But if you play relaxed you don't care about matching with other noobs and relaxed players. So if you play relaxed you'll rank will stay low and all the serious players will be high rank.
giving you exactly what you want, well unless you want to be the only serious player in the match cause that won't happen if the Matchmaking is working properly
Sbmm puts serious players with serious players and relaxed players with relaxed players. If you want relaxed games play relaxed if you want serious play serious. Granted there's a bit of a clusterfuxk when the system starts as everyone starts together but play constantly and you will get players like you.
Again assuming the system is tracking skill properly

What are you on about? I was asked why DBD got rid of the hook timer pause that they implemented to discourage face camping, I explained why it got removed - survivors kept killer at hook so hooked survivor never died. That's it, that's why the devs most likely will never try anything like it again. Idk why you keep suggesting things to me as if I am the one proposing/objecting to changes here
Which is why that could be fixed by not having 5he timer pause if the killer is on a chase. Unless you can think of another problem with that?
-
@Dreadnight said:
No, the survivors will abuse it by falling under a pallet in a chase. DS is not a balance perk for reference.
Power Struggle is not a meta perk, but have good synergy with Flip Flop and Unbreakable. Not OP but not useless with the combo in solo queue. In swf groups is very abusive but not so used.
I have never been power struggled as a killer nor have I power struggled a killer. It is incredibly easy to avoid as killer.

to keep it simple, for me personally this whole mmr experience so far has been an absolute disgrace. im a brown killer, and this how my days of dead by daylight go
first game, brand new part, iri rank and 3 silvers and ormond and clearly really solid survivors.
second game, one of the easiest games of my life, simple 4k and whatever
third and 4th game, sweatiest game ever with extremely good survivors
5th game, easiest game of my life
etc etc.. this isn’t sustainable. its a constant up hill battle with a rope every now and then to pull you up.
you play well against bad survivors and then next game your gona be bullied by the best survs to grace the planet like come on now, not sustainable, and it’s not fun, at all.
Yah but what could the devs do? Allow for discussions about the current mechanics of the system that we already found out so that they could change it to make it less garbage?
No I think they are handling it right by deleting any threads on the topic and sticking their heads in the sand

No, it means that just because I play seriously sometimes doesn't mean I want every single game to be against a sweatfest.
If you play more serious than relaxed you play against survivors who play more serious than relaxed.
Play more relaxed and you will play more relaxed opponents if the system is working. Its not supposed to match serious killers against less than serious survivors. That's basically the stated purpose of the whole system what we're you expecting?

It's smug people like you that prevents this game from getting any better. Any criticism is just "well you're not good enough". Thanks thats very helpful.
I think what he should have said is that if your finding matches hard then it's working properly becusde the point behind the system was to match equally skilled players against eachother. Based on what your saying about long matches and your survivors being afraid of you but still putting up a good fight means it's working as intended.
Sbmm does not mean you get easy matches. Quite the opposite.
Again assuming it's working which I don't.
-
@Yankus said:

I think sprint should used on button , like DH. Its rly stupid that u need to walk whole game just to use it when u need it, or not having it when u need to. When it will be on button it will be completely different perk and pretty decent alternate to DH
That would make it significantly better than the other exhaustion perks. Also you can just 99 your exhaustion and pause briefly mid chase to trigger it

I've noticed this too. 7/10 games have a camping killer since mmr. This of course, causes my mmr to drop, which gives me worse teammates, which means I've also been left to die on the hook more, which makes my mmr drop, and the cycle continues. It's literally not fun to play dbd anymore as a survivor, even if I can get a friend to join me. I want to play the game, not play hook simulator.
I'm being forced to play Killer, which means I'm having to wait 15 minutes or so in queue, which also isn't fun.
BHVR really needs to rework the way mmr works, especially on survivor side. Barely any survivors can reach high mmr and it's easy to tell why.
Seems like they could fix camping instead that way notnonly is mmr better but no more camping which is even better

THIS is how you counter camping! The amount of survivors who can't grasp this makes my head spin.
This would work if you could finish 5 gens and 3scspr in the time it takes one hooked survivor to die but you can't so then it's a game of 1 v 3 with a couple gens left. Which is why it's effective strat and keeps getting used. Even if the survivors come to get the save realize the killer is camping and go right back to gens the camping strat is effective. Which is why you see it all over the place. If it wasn't effective it wouldnt keep getting used
-
@KFChris18 said:

What more can I say to make you understand? The hook countdown needs to remain as it is, otherwise there's no pressure for anyone to come off gens to save that person. Even if the killer just chased the person, that survivor could just loop around the hook, leaving the other 2 free to do gens since there is no pressure to save the guy on hook. But I have the feeling that this is lost on you. Go play some killer the come back and tell me about how OP camping is.
What can you not seem to understand about the hook timer NOT stopping wheel the killer is in a chase?
Maybe I can explain it simpler for you. If the killer is chasing a survivor who is looping them around the hook the hook timer will continue to count down just like it normally does. Does that help?

Just tunnel. Gen defense does not exist against good survivors really.
I Mean pop if you're not facecamping changes a 5 gen match into an effective 7 gen match on its own. There's also the nurses 5 percent slowdown per injured survivor or Meyers slowdown for hooks. You could run them all with sloppy butcher for a hilariously slow match.
-
I find that when twins camp they will usually go chase the unhooker where Bubba is face camp all day every day
-
Oh sorry I misread the post I thought it was that hiding was what survivors did to increase rank.
Not that hiding the system helped protect from abusing it.

@SvarturSteinn said:
Let's be real simple about this; 4 players against the killer is in the advantage of the survivors, the sooner the killer makes it a 3v1 the sooner they actually have any chance of winning. Pair that with all the perks you just listed for survivors that makes being a killer such a ballache of a chore no one in their sane mind wants to play around that meta every single time again and again so they minimize exposure to survivors having annoying advantages over them.
Do you main killer. If you what do you say your average kill Rate is when you don't camp
-
@SvarturSteinn said:
if camping a hook is holding the game hostage then I should be allowed to say using dead hard holds the game hostage because used well it will always reset a chase.
I didn't think the issue with camping is that it holds the game hostage. There are 2 issues. 1 camping is boring as hell for the survivor being camped and 2 camping is such a good strategy that is very prevalent in the game.
Fixing either of those issues would be a big improvement

DIsagree. Eventually someone will try a rescue and fall down too. Facecamper doesn´t mean 1 kill. Many times is 4 kills instead due to survivors altruism.
Or just simple time it takes to die is enough that the gens don't finish. They do a couple or three and then you have a 1 v 3 for the remaining gens

They already tried the hook timer thing and survivors just kept the killer near the hook while their buddy freely did the gens. "BuT If tHe KilLer Is chAsiNg The TImer No Fall" then they just run back and forth baiting the killer to safe areas out of chase range until he commits to one of them and wastes time.
Once you go on the hook you are DEAD. it is up to the others to save you or the killer to be kind and let you go.
Can't help but notice you forgot about my question

Because there was nothing the killer could do to counter this. Either they go on a chase which means leaving the hook where they know someone is waiting for the save if you recall my previous situation or they stay and accomplish nothing since the hook timer wouldn't go down. It was horrfically unbalanced because all a survivor would have to do is loop close to a hook and the killer would lose all map pressure. Thats why its never been tried again, it forced a killer to give out free saves for every hook if they wanted to progress the game.
Oh my god the killer wouldnhave to....gasp CHASE survivors. For a win? And not just get hits instantly. Oh my God I can't believe that your right that is so much abuse i can't believe the killers testing it didn't all Uninstall on the spot.

When the killer was in range of the hook the timer would pause, people figured out they could just swarm it and tag eachother in to keep the killer there so person on hook would never die. It was abused enough that they removed it

Well if you think I was on the right track hiw about some of the other proposals I've made.
Reverse bt perk
A perk that let's the camped player stun/blind the killer when they get camped for too long

Your ideas are interesting, I just came to the possibility that I did because I was thinking of something that would accomplish the two specific things that make the facecamp debate a problem: Giving the camped survivor incentive to chill out and not be angry that their time is being wasted, and do it in a way that doesn't change the killer's ability to camp. To me a BP bonus is the sensible solution because it would be the smallest change and presumably satisfy both sides.
If I get hooked and camped within a minute of the beginning of the match I've just wasted five minutes getting into the actual game and have to wait several more to get back out of it, all for like 1500 BP. If that score was bumped to something like 5000 then I got SOMETHING out of it, and the killer still camped his way to a kill like he wanted.
I think the your going to run into is when you say the other side doesn't want to change thenkillers ability to camp. It's not quite correct. The killer mains don't want any change to the killers ability ti camp AND have camping be an awesome strategy thatbwill let them win.
That's why they are going to be heavily against anything even my perk proposal if it means killers won't get easy wins. I'd imagine the complaint this go round will be about how hard it is to win without camping so don't implement the perks
-
About 40 min on the swamp with the paddleboat In total
Match was going normally but fairly quick I think by the 5 min mark I Got 2 kills and had the 2 survivors left one on 2 hooks and one I don't think I'd seen that entire match let alone hooked him.
Was 2 gens left but the 4 on the map were fairly close and I was stalking around as the pig looking for survivors but keeping close. After about 5 to 10 min of searching I went on top the boat and made a quick snack not really paying attention to my game. Just after I finished my sandwich one gen popped. I found that only one survivor was playing but no crows so the other was actively avoiding helping even though they could both have escaped if they did something while I was afk
. So I spent 10 to 15 min chasing the one survivor away from the gens and downing them and carryjng them until they escsped them so they wouldn't die until eventually they led me to their teammate (on purpose or not I don't know) who was hiding in the shrubs near a dull totem touching it every do often to avoid crows.
Killed him and gave the other one the hatch cause that guy passed me off as the killer I can't imagine how his team felt

Well how about instead of telling killers to not camp we talk about ways the game can be changed to make killers not want to camp. Like stopping hook timer for camping killers sounds like a win win, no more camping and no one being toxic telling killers about how terribly boring the game is when there's camping?
Unless you don't really care about what you said you did and just want to keep camping of course then nevermind

Sadly I don't think camping will ever get addressed Bhvr likes to make perks as bandaid fixes instead of balancing.
I think perks could address camping if they don't want to make meaningful changes. Something like reverse bt or a perk that let's you stunn the killer when they camp for more than x seconds

Getting constantly tunneled, camped, slugged, and gen rushed is even more unfun. Seriously what has this game come to? I don't wanna have to use multiple gen slowdown perks but when I'm playing a Killer with no map mobility I'm forced to. Seriously, these issues were all present before SBMM but ever since it's been enabled it has really ramped up.
I don't really know if Unbreakable should be considered 2nd chance. If the killer can't be bothered to get you on the hook after you've been down that long it stops feeling like a second chance perk.
Any more than getting unhooked or having someone heal you from the dieing state normally is second chance anyway
