Which is wrong because everyone is different. That is a self-centered point of view.

I never dominated killers in the first place. I generally just enjoyed games that would at least see 5 gens completed (or even close to).
In 25 games since the meta shift update I escaped 4 times. I personally wasn't a DH/DS user before the patch. Probably about 70/30 swf before the patch. I played a total of 2 games with one friend. Both games we got housed.
I have 6,000+ hours in this game. I'm probably a slightly better than average player. But I have enough experience and game knowledge to know that my skill cap doesn't meet the requirements of being a successful survivor at this point. And I don't need to escape every game, but a 16 percent rate iis pretty damn low. And again, if the games were close, maybe I could accept that. But the majority of my games only 1 or 2 gens have been completed. That isn't even getting to other factors like killer and map variety.
I've seen enough for now to call it a game.
If you’ve reached your skill cap, shouldn’t you be losing to better players?

I think it's because experienced survivors know how busted 'god pallets' can be so they like to reserve them for later in the game when there's more pressure. It is a little frustrating when you see someone waste a really good pallet when they get hit anyway or don't even loop it, but I'd never be rude to someone about it. No one's 100% perfect at the game, and when it's a baby survivor we were all like that once.
The exception is the Game: throw every pallet you see on that map because they're basically infinite and there are at least 4 god pallets on the forsaken map lol.
The thing is….most maps have enough so that you can always play safe. I will agree that getting hit and throwing it is a huge waste, but prolonging chase is more important than pallet use

Two games that day. About 25 since the patch. Do I have to play 100 games before I can decide what is fun or not? 1,000?
Or maybe the flaw in the logic is actually on your end. Like, maybe it's up to the individual to decide what is fun or not fun? If you're having fun that's great. My friends cut bait after about six games post patch. For me it was 25ish. If you're still having fun, good for you. But don't tell me, that it's my flaw when I say I'm not having a good time playing a game.
Your experience is your experience. The problem is that many people with your mentality think the game should be balanced around their fun, which isn’t true. I’m sorry you don’t dominate killers anymore.

Yeah. I've played maybe 25 games since the patch. Games are boring. Killer gets immediate pressure, wins with maybe two gens being done. Played this weekend for the first time since Wesker came out. All boring Wesker games where he dashes back to the hook for the easy hook trade.
After two games tonight I was spent.
Do you not see the flaw in this logic? You lost TWO games and immediately go to saying that the game is unfair/unfun. That’s a you problem

The main building has one gen and then becomes useless to survivors to be anywhere near it. All the gens are out in the open in that map and there is always a heavy cluster towards the shack. I honestly end up with a three gen on this map so many times. The house is a waste of space really, I don't think it's that big an issue from my own experience. Killers still seem to do well it.
This isn’t true. Completing the gen in main building makes it a great place to run because now the killer is stuck in a great loop spot and can’t patrol gens. Survivors essentially become invincible in the house.

Did you literally reply to a 5 sentence post without reading it? If you had read it, I said that SWFs should have less perks and longer gen times so Killers are on equal footing with SWFs at high MMR.
Balancing to the highest level players, doesn't mean the game is unbalanced for the lowest level players.
Surely you realize that exclusively balancing the game for pro-SWFs and pro-Killers would absolutely ruin this game. Anyone on these forums would tell you that's a horrible idea. That's not balancing for the best players, that's balancing a completely different aspect of the game. SWF is completely different that solo-queue which is completely different that Killers. There's 3 different play-types in this game. All 3 should be balanced for.
It’s impossible to balance for all 3. People would be able to work around any SWF restrictions. You must balance for top level

Except these death squads are incredibly rare at any level. You can turn on any killer streamer who plays the game for a living to see the evidence of how rare they are. Even people at the absolute peak of MMR don't run into them very often. People have always exaggerated how many comp level teams there are running around just to strengthen their agenda. It's probably less than 1% of teams at most.
Read my other post. I don’t care how small the percentage is, killer should never be put in an unwinnable position. That argument stinks.

This hasn't changed though. Killers are still play things to SWFs. The only thing that changed is the majority of survivor players are getting slaughtered, while SWFs continue to to bully Killers.
SWFs are anomalies and are rare, you just can't balance the the vast majority of survivors based on SWFs. The developers could give less perks slots and slow gen times for SWFs to make it fair. But balancing for SWFs is lunacy.
The game needs to be fair, with a close to 50/50 kill/escape rate.
It is not acceptable to basically say that killers should just have to deal with swf. I don’t care if it’s 1\10 games. I’ll also say for the millionth time that most games are balanced around the best players. Dbd shouldn’t be special
-
@Wezil said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3190097#Comment_3190097
This applies to both sides. It's not just a survivor thing. The kill/escape rate should be as close to equal as possible in a competitive game.
The problem is that while it can be tough to win as survivor, it is literally impossible to win as killer against a meta team. Killer should be threatening, not a toy that survivors can loop endlessly

If most people are bad then you should balance around them. It makes no sense to balance around top 1% death squad SWFs. Even at high MMR those types of teams are incredibly rare. Something that anyone who plays killer knows and something that the devs confirmed.
It isn’t fair to make the game unplayable for killer at high levels though. No killer has any reason to want to play against those groups. Get better or quit

The “skill” in survivor is memorizing loops and a basic understanding of killer powers. That’s it

What does getting good have to do with solo q's? The solo q's are the one taking the biggest hit because my life no longer rests solely on my shoulders but on the hopes and dreams that somehow I get competent teammates that can loop or stick to gens. If you have 2 randoms hiding in lockers for most of the match while I chase the killer for what SHOULD BE 2 gens then why should I be punished for THOSE INDIVIDUALS poor performance and incompetence?
It’s a team game. If you could survive while your teammates do nothing, it would be unbelievably imbalanced for killer. There is no solution. When you play a team game, you accept that teammates will cause you to lose a game.

Why would you think it's a good idea to make people lose more on one side? I agree the killers must be scary but it musn't be to the cost of the fun. It's a video-game, it shouldn't be frustating to play survivor.
Yes it should. Pvp games mean you have to push yourself to improve. Part of the fun of a game is supposed to be losing, learning, and overcoming challenges. If you want to always win and be in god mode, go play a single player game.

Can't forget crutches like No Way Out and NOED. And as if the basekit changed weren't crutches enough, Brutal and Save the Best.
What did we get for survivor?
DS is completely worthless, Iron Will is trash, Calm Spirit of all perks got nerfed, they nerfed Blast Mine for no reason, and Mettle of Man was made decent before going back to being a worthless meme perk again.
Solo queue is even more of a nightmare, and even in a SWF we escape through the gates maybe once or twice in 10 games because killer is so oppressive now.
And don't even get me started on the uncounterable builds killers bring all the time now, like Plagues 110 seconds of object infection time build, Iri Legion Pin/Julie's Mix Tape, or the big one, Omega Blink Nurse in 2022.
The Survivor experience is at its lowest point, meanwhile killer is so easy even with the sweat squads that I get matched with I've managed Onryos, Dredges and Wesker adepts first try.
BHVR as usual patting themselves on the back for another killer sided update.

What are you talking about "Just been disproven" are you talking about the Choy video where he stated that MMR goes all the way to 3000, but as soon as you're over 1600 everyone after that is matched together, and most of the top streamers are around 2000 - 2200 mmr? It's the complete opposite of what you think it is.
it’s really not because 1600 and above are all considered the same by the game. Getting to 2200 doesn’t matter because you are still matched with the same people. It’s exactly what I think. I would bet that the majority of people on this forum are in the “upper” bracket, which further shows that bhvr wasted their time with MMR

i don't disagree. but wesker could be a killer that counters pre-dropping pallets and holding-w while being a fair killer that the survivors can outplay if survivors side-step his virulent bound. I think he's still good, just that he could be greater.
Not saying you think this, but when most survivors say “fair” it translates to “thing i can do to counter the killer every time.” That isn’t how counterplay is supposed to work
-
@Devil_hit11 said:
that's how bvhr is with killer powers. loads of drawbacks with no reward for using the ability.
High perceived skill-cap, low reward for being good at the killer from over-excessive counter-play, Limiting his skill-ceiling. Just another middle of the road killer until adjustments to his parameters.
This is everything wrong with killer in DBD. The skill required is too high for the minimal reward. Meanwhile survivor gameplay is holding W and predropping pallets

So she is only viable because she can play around pre-drops? Totally not because she can use aura-reading perks and teleport through walls to hit a survivor? No, not that at all. 🤣
On the second part. Wrong. If you know that a survivor has already used resources, the next survivor being chased will not have those resources to use. You would have to be a pretty bad killer to not catch a survivor without a strong pallet.
I can tell you don't play much of anything, but Nurse.
There are enough resources on the map for all survivors to use. Again, as killer you might get one, but that’s all you’re going to get. A 3-4 k is literally impossible if the survivors hold forward and pre drop.

Because they are. They were gone once breakable doors became a thing.
A survivor never gets touched? Please stop with the exaggerated assumptions. If you choose to go for someone who keeps pre-dropping and never break chase, that is on YOU. Your job isn’t just to chase but patrol gens as well. Also since we are on a Nurse topic, tell me how pre dropping is good against Nurse.
Because In relation to what is being talked about there are no perks that make a loop stronger. As there are perks that DO make Nurse stronger.
Nurse can play around predrops, hence why she is the only viable killer. Saying to switch up targets is a bad talking point if the survivors know how to play. Anyone you target will predrop and you won’t catch them until it’s over. I can tell you don’t play much killer.
-
@Johnny_XMan said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3154446#Comment_3154446
Because in the broader spectrum, "god loops" don't exist anymore. If by "god loops" you mean strong loops they aren't remotely broken as much as Nurse is.
So no, it's not "like saying" because they are two different things. Furthermore, loops aren't affected by survivor perks (at least to the point of making them broken)... and the only one that subjectively did that was not a new perk (see old Dead Hard). Killer perks DO affect Nurse. Again, apples and oranges... two very different things that have different balance.
There is strong and there is broken. Nurse is the latter.
How can you play this game and honestly say that god loops are gone? Maps are loaded with jungle gyms and tiles that you can see the killer at. If survivors do gens, the one being chased can insta drop pallets and never get touched. By the time they are caught, the game is over. THAT is fundamentally broken design. No killer in the game can compete with that level of brokeness.

Weird, the post reads as if you had an objective, or at least an agenda.
Having an objective doesn´t mean it has to be handed down on a plate, which is what happened after the last patch, at least when solo queue is considered. But a lot of killers seem to only consider swf if the situation suits them.
I don’t care about people who can’t play the game. My grandma would 4K at low mmr with Onryo or trapper- it doesn’t mean they are or killer in general is OP.

Well, killer claimed they do it because gen times were too fast, and chases took too long.
Then the devs reduced chase times by killer buffs and survivor nerfs, and increased gen times.
The Result: more killer camping and tunneling, because you got the down earlier, and gen times where longer. It did the opposite of what killers said would happen.
the true reason why killer camp and tunnel is just: the survivor might escape otherwise.
Weird, it’s almost like the killer’s objective is to prevent survivors escaping.

Reducing map size would fix this, she doesn't need range on Dead Dawg, only on maps like Mother's Dwelling does it become tedious to 1 blink everywhere.
Even then, it massively hurts her in chase to not have range. It takes 4-5 blinks to even catch up, which adds up to a lot of lost time because the survivor is just holding forward. I’m not saying you mean this, but it seems like most survivors want to be able to shut her down with 0 things she can do. That isn’t how counterplay is supposed to work

Seriously… how many times do I need to spell it out. No one buys that argument. I realize that many killers have a problem accepting the fact that their wins are ‘assisted’. They want to believe that they win 100% because of their amazing ability in a fair game. They are just that much better than every one else. But come on man… it’s time to burst that bubble and wake up to reality. She’s broken. You’re playing EZ mode. No one is impressed. Yes…. She was really hard to master. Kudos to you for going through that work. But stop being lazy now. Play something that has some level of challenge.
What “challenge”. Other killers are only a challenge inasmuch as it’s impossible to win against a team that predrops pallets and focuses on gens. The rare times you can win against these groups are because you play defensive and force them to die after 1-2 hooks. It’s boring gameplay. Nurse allows you to actually play

The reason why chases were entertaining doesn't change the fact that the entertainment value is lost. The end result is the same: entertainment product should be entertaining.
"instead of actually learning how to loop" - looping requires resources. Pallets are gone faster now. Without pallets and with increased bloodlust any noob can bloodlust themselves to a kill. Also, a lot of looping relied on mind games. With IW nerf, there is no mindgaming someone with headphones.
There is an incredible amount of disinformation in this post. There are still more than enough pallets on the map to allow the team to finish gens, and any killer that relies on bloodlust is probably losing the game, since it takes so long to gain it. Shouldn’t the killer be able to track you while injured? You made a mistake by getting hit. It shouldn’t get easier.

It would be illogical to ignore it completely.
Also, please stop insulting me. It does nothing.

Then consider it when balancing.
That isn’t logical. A single survivor shouldn’t be able to win the game. This type of thinking is what has made dbd imbalanced in the first place: people are mad about losing and think they should be able to 1v1 the killer forever. Killers are supposed to be at an advantage in chase. If it makes you mad that your team can lose the game, I guess you are new to online pvp. It still shouldn’t be balanced around that

If there are any adjustments made to Wesker or his power, then these will be done for the health of the game same as any adjustments to perks etc. It's not about one side or the other.
It’s more that the devs don’t understand the game than that they are survivor sided. That’s the only way to explain how Sadako is considered to be in an acceptable state, or how it took years to nerf dead hard, a perk that every good player knew was busted

Like, a Bill in our match had 800 hours and the Nurse we played against said (on stream) that they had about 4K hours in Nurse. How are we possibly supposed to do well there?

It can be when it causes a severe lack of enjoyment in the other side and then claiming you aren't responsible for it. Also the game is just not a competitive one, it simply lacks the balance for that so playing to win can be seen as toxic. Besides don't put words in my mouth, I'd rather eat a loss against Hillbilly, a solid Trapper, Nemesis, Huntress etc. then escape against some toxic tryhard wannabe Nurse and there plenty out there who run all the usual perks, addons and still can't land a hit to save their life.
In my case at least winning or losing has nothing to do with it and I play killer more then survivor in any case.

It's called sportsmanship, something the players I mentioned above, and you it seems, have very little/none of.
Bringing up Tekken and fighting games? Lol...? In Tekken the other side can also choose an equally powered character.
Nurse players in dbd, and SWF players who go on coms are choosing OP things to dunk on the opposite team who just must lose.
Full 4-man SWF with coms are the very, very slim minority. A boosted nurse using broken addons? Those come up in I'd say 15-30 percent of games at high mmr.
It doesn’t matter if it’s a small percentage of games. I shouldn’t be put at a disadvantage as killer to make up for survivors who aren’t as experienced. That sounds like a game not worth playing.

This game is not balanced. Good SWF players on Discord doing callouts and playing sweaty in public matches, and nurse with her best addons playing cut-throat.
'Toxic' describes those kinds of players pretty well. I've seen much more of the latter than the former.
Using imbalanced mechanics to dunk on the other team who doesn't have anywhere close to your advantage. If that's the kind of game you want to play, go play a single player game. Or, just keep playing dbd cause the devs don't care.
More evidence that you have never actually done anything credible, other than thump your chest about the 10 people playing in Korea. Do you think any Tekken players that do well choose a character in order to give their opponent a chance? No, you would be laughed out of the conversation. Play to win, no one cares about the other side being bad/salty
-
@Slowpeach said:
Won't happen. Whether she's balanced or not she's just a bucket load of no fun to play against with little player interaction. Outthink her once, she gets a second chance. Outthink her twice, she sighs a bit and then is right on your butt to roll the dice again. It's just an awful gameplay loop and it completely nullifies so much of the game that other killers can't ignore. For example Huntress can still hit you through pallets and windows as Nurse can but she can't hit you through walls or even different enclosed floors. Furthermore Huntress has limited hatchets, Nurse's blink cooldown is basically up always so she doesn't have to resource manage. Yes she's 3.8 speed, but how much does that actually matter when she can travel the distance that she can with her power.
Honestly even if she only had her meme addons forced on her people would still hate it even though she would be awful. The hate towards Nurse is partly balance but also how her gameplay is. Also because she is the best killer, she attracts a lot of toxic try hards which multiply her issues. That's something that can't be helped, but it does explain why as long as Nurse is one of the better killers, the hatred is going absolutely nowhere.
Playing to win is not toxic. By calling them toxic tryhards, you’re pretty much just saying they make you angry because they don’t let you win. Talk about entitlement.

You say that as if a survivor never actually has to use a pallet or vault against a Nurse, which is categorically false. A good Nurse has an "ez" time forcing survivors into bad situations where survivors good or bad have to make sub-optimal choices. The fact that Nurse not only ignores pallets and vaults almost completely, she gets hits in those places almost for free where most other killers struggle. I don't know if you noticed but most maps and tiles are built around pallets and vaults.
I don’t know if you noticed, but all maps also have line of sight breakers
