I'm just hoping we actually see meaningful changes and not just fluff.

It's actually faster if everyone does gens solo. That's how you gen rush. The new system wants people to solo for gens, which ends up causing gen rushing.

As far as "getting scared" at the game, after a couple hundred hours... the addition of the hag has to take the cake for this one.My first trap... dear god....
Just throw Stealth Myers at me on The Game and I'll leave a brown trail behind me the entire match.

Although this would be really awesome, I don't really expect these devs to be capable of this.
Not to mention they would need permission from both Sony and MS in order to use account transfer features.

I made a very long post about this here: http://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/179/petition-to-either-create-ranked-and-casual-or-balance-the-game-around-swf#latest
I would enjoy for you to come in and share your opinions. This particular thread got over 3000 comments on the Steam Forums, so let us keep it going here!

Most games tend to nerf things if they become overpicked because it causes the meta to become super stale.
In DbD, we keep meta perks super strong, and instead introduce even more powerful perks to convince people to use those instead, while keeping all previous perks super weak, which only ends up slightly shifting the meta temporarily until everyone defaults back to SC/DS/SB.
-
LF is simply a worse Billy. You essentially need to buttride the Survivors to get his power to work, at about the same distance you could easily just slash them with Billy.
Not to mention most of his addons are completely useless. All of the addons that increase his speed are absolutely useless unless you double stack them, and even then it is probably just better for you to get accurate and play Billy.
-
I would rather them focus on restoring Legacy to all the players who lost it via that save file bullshit.

If you want a stealthy build for altruism, I would run Stake Out for easy Great Skill Checks while healing, Urban Evasion, Borrowed Time, and We'll Make It.

What about this.. as survivors you have 30 seconds in the lobby to change survivor, items, or add ons. After 30 seconds this gives time to change offerings and customization but removes sudden death flashlight or BNP team. And the killer still has time to react.I would agree, but dodging would have to be addressed as well. The reason people feel the need to do so is because they'd get dodged if they didn't. I don't think anyone should be picking and choosing who they go up against. All that accomplishes is abusing the matchmaking system to artificially raise your rank higher than it should be, making those types of matches all the more common.
Easy then. Lock in Survivors from switching at the 30 second mark, but also lock in the Killer at the 30 second mark from dodging, or he incurs a massive 5 minute penalty. This way he cannot dodge, but he may change his build in accordance to any last second switches.

These free to play weekends are pretty mind-numbing honestly. I don't play on PS4 very often so I'm usually low Rank on PS4.
Oh man. The potato was real.
-
Another thing I have noticed is that we are not allowed to have custom avatars. Yet every forum I am a member of does.
Yet the mods can. That's really fair isn't it?
-
Keep in mind you gain points for Stealth the closer you are to the Killer, but honestly they need to be increased.
If the Killer is close to the hook, do not save. If the person goes down in less than 10 seconds, you can pretty much kiss your entire benevolence category goodbye. Run Borrowed Time to ensure you keep your points.

In the old system, survivors were ranking easily, while killers struggled to. Now both sides have it hard to rank up.Precisely, however, they could do some changes to stop the loss of the replay value which I hope you could agree on? The killer doesn't struggle to rank up to say to most, nothing much has changed for the killer in my perspective as the killer is like the controller of the game and what really happens, example: if the killer body blocks a survivor in the corner the survivor is unable to get out. On the other hand, if the survivor body blocked the killer they would be able to get out, so clearly, the killer shows dominance over how the match is played out and ran.Therefor, the ranking system is based off how the killer interacts and not how the survivors are forced to play as.
No, the game flows as the survivors dictate it, because they have the dominant role in this game, sadly.
Please elaborate how? Survivors are unable to completely control the game, unlike the killer. Survivors have to be forced to dc if the killers body block them in the corner?
Because the only way a Killer will really catch a Survivor is if they make some form of mistake. The Killer can only be on one Survivor at a time. This means the other 3 are free to control the pace of the match by just rushing gens or farting around with other stuff. The Killer has no direct control over this because he can only be on one person at a time.

do you know any other options?
if yes i would like to know them as i said im not very good at this game so you can only help meYou can stealth as best as you can or complete the generators as fast as you can.
You could also use the pallets as chase breakers to make it easier for you to break line of sight and hide (though this is only recommended if you have perks that make it easier to hide, like Urban Evasion).
Personally I would recommend, after breaking LoS, instead of hiding to keep moving and try using your 3rd person camera to your advantage to see which way the Killer moves, and react accordingly. It isn't too often you should hunch over in a corner and hide imo.
Also utilizing double window spawns for as long as possible whilst constantly breaking LoS is a good way to make the killer make some kind of mistake.
-
Pallet looping in its current form is pretty mindless and irritating to deal with. The pallet changes should make it less annoying and put the game in a similar state to pre-pallet buffs. People will still do it, but if you rely on it you'll probably get messed up.

Stake Out is a great Survivor perk. Does a great job of countering Ruin.
-
They have stated before in the devstreams that the Killers are incapable of being injured, but they do still feel pain. For example, the screams when they get hit by a pallet, or Nurse when she slows down after teleporting.

Unless you somehow think that your logic should only be apply to only the survivor side because reason.
But he isn't complaining about camping or tunneling.
Doesn't matter, the logic is still relevant. Many people who complain about tunneling and camping also have no issues using stuff like SWF or gen rushing.
And that right there might be the perfect definition of a strawman argument.
It's not an argument. It's an observation.

In the old system, survivors were ranking easily, while killers struggled to. Now both sides have it hard to rank up.Ranking up as a killer under emblems is a joke, especially compared to the Victory Cube conditions which forced Killers to adopt a certain playstyle. Killers, for the most part, resented that. Now Killers can relax again while Survivors are arbitrarily told to play a certain way and are punished for playing outside of that model.
In other words, you want Killers to tunnel, camp, and pretty much only play Billy and Nurse right? That's why you want the Victory Cube back?
Playing outside of what model as survivors? Stealth? Running around aggro? I've pipped playing both ways as a Survivor so I'm not quite sure what you're talking about. Getting points as a Survivor is really no different than before.
Survive, make chases really long, save people, do gens. That is pretty much exactly the same as the old system except for the fact that stuff like pallet stuns and dull totems don't give you rank up anymore. It's the same as it's always been. Only a few people can get gens, only a few people can get saves. If you want to pip, you must go out and be the one to get ######### done now. You can't just let your SWF buddies carry you anymore like in the past.
The Victory Cube was way too strict on Killers, yet you want the Survivors to retain their easy mode Bloodpoint ranking? Is this some kind of bad joke?
-
This is why I play Pig. To bag my tea back.
-
The old ranking system was disgustingly easy and served pretty much as a participation trophy simulator.
Now you actually have to try, and this is what people dislike. As a survivor main, I think the Emblem System is just fine. I'd rather not have potato Survivors at high ranks.
-
@MonitorZero said:
Yes for sure when it's a full tool box squad there will be gen rushing but it's been a while since I've seen it happen. Or even the dreaded 4 BPN bomb again that's just me.
I think what's happening is a killer gets into a chase right off the bat meanwhile two other survivors are on separate gens and the two gens pop either at the hook or while they're getting looped I could be wrong though.
On the pallets I'm really hoping the small, yet long awaited for, pallet vacuum change will solve this a little more. Not completely but just getting that one hit in can make a world of difference.
Your second point is exactly what happens. It's just survivors playing optimally. Like I said, the Killer can only chase one guy at a time. This means the other 3 should all be on gens. The first 3 gens should all be popped in a minute and 20 seconds.

There are other objectives you must concern yourself with now especially if you wish to pip.
No one is concerned with ranking up right now since the lobby times are huge.
That's probably due to the fact that people aren't capable of actually ranking, or they don't wish to put the effort in doing so.
I'm gonna bank on that most survivors are unable to pip in the new system, which is why wait times begin to skyrocket past Rank 10.
No you can. It's a little harder now but the fact is everyone else is just staying at a low rank because there is no seasonal rewards for ranking up in the new system. Besides longer and longer que times and most of the appeal of this game is kinda like pubg where you should just be able to drop in and play. No one likes waiting for a lobby
This game requires a lobby system, there isn't really a way to change that at all. It's either have a lobby and wait or you wait in the main menu until you find a full match. I mean, drop in? What if it doesn't find anyone? I'm just gonna play a 1v1? That's no fun at all.
I completely agree they need to add some kind of seasonal rewards as well as extend the actual season length however. Plus I've seen enough survivors to complain about the Emblems to assume many Survivors have some kind of issue with the system itself rather than the fact there aren't seasonal rewards. There are things I'd adjust about the Emblems but for the most part they're good.

A lot of people know Not Queen these days. She is the community manager, she's supposed to know her people lmao what an empty threat.
Regardless, Sprint Burst + post hit speed boost has always looked pretty funny, but you can legit put it on the lag due to how quickly you are changing your position.
Teabagging isn't bannable and standing at the gate isn't hostage cause she can still hit you.
Just a salty Killer.

There are other objectives you must concern yourself with now especially if you wish to pip. You actually need to get into chases and save people in order to pip properly. Gen rushing is a bad move nowadays.
Also, sorry buddy. But "putting pressure" on gens is easier said than done my guy. The Killer can only chase 1 person at a time, and if he's choosing to drop chases to go patrol gens, that's actually a very terrible rookie mistake that will cost him the game even further.
Ruin helps. BBQ helps. But you must chase someone at some point, and with how long looping takes and the fact that it only takes 80 seconds to do a gen, if the survivors are playing optimally, all gens can be popped on about 3 minutes. If the Killer actually decides to focus on gen defense, he simply won't get any kills and the game will crawl to a standstill once the 3 gen comes about. And if the Killer 3 gens for too long, even when it is easy for him to down a survivor, that can be considered holding the game hostage.
The Killer is pretty much always fighting a losing battle. This is why so many Killers camp and tunnel, especially the first guy they catch. It's easier to snowball off of 3 people than 4, it's really simple.
-
Least favorite was the pallet changes added in to version 1.1.1 that made looping in its current form a possibility.
Most favorite was the Emblem System for Survivors.

Not sure what made you think so.Very rarely would you get actual dev responses on the Steam forum, but it did happen occasionally.
Back in 2016 yeah.
The last response from devs to date is Not_Queen saying "I'm Hyped for the next PTB content, are you, too ?"
If you consider that an answer (or more like, an useful one), welp, I guess devs are "indeed" participating.I actually "participate" in other steam forums such as Darkest Dungeon or Dead Cells or even Slay the Spire ones, and devs ACTUALLY answers there, on a daily basis, even tho they're indie devs.
I don't say this to be mean to devs, it's just factual, since I'm on these forums for ages now, and I see threads asking things to devs about everyday, and not a single one of them is being answered/addressed.
If I recall didn't the devs essentially say people are too mean on Steam lmao

I personally like they are trying to attempt a way to balance the game for everyone, but I feel forcing people to "try" discourages having fun unless you are the person who enjoys that. I honestly think the old score system was better it allowed everyone to play as they wanted with being able to pip and those who did nothing didn't pip. The old system allowed both survivors and killers the chance to have fun and not feel they needed to try and achieve a certain set goal.I dislike the old system cause it essentially let people who didn't deserve high Rank to achieve it. The old system was extremely "participation trophy" oriented.
