So long as people that fail to see the counters like scrubs, and so long as there are salty survivors, it will never end

After reading it all for the 5th time, making sure I wasn't seeing this, now if you're a troll and I fell for bait, nice, but not at the expense of others so incase this was a troll, you're still an arsehole, if this isn't a troll, you give killers a bad name, especially to newer players, I don't care how try hard you played, just cause they're new doesn't mean go easy, screw that, but the way YOU started it and the way YOU provoked something from nothing, then say they're entitled? Nah, you're the entitled one here, how about giving a friendly hint, such as "yo a quick tip, don't do this at this point or that point cause of this reason" get thanks and goodbyes and gg's and move on, they ain't done nothing except make your game easier for you

idk what to tell you Bc I’ve seen survivors in multitudes fall to this. Trap placement is very important.
rule of thumb though when I say trap loops I mean trap the places they’re running to Bc they aren’t running where you did place them. I avoid tall grass, windows , walls , pallets when going against trapper.
I can’t tell you how many times I can go matches without getting caught in traps Bc I specifically avoid those areas against him.
Do or don’t do what you will with that information, I’m not spelling it out on the forum to f up a good trapper strategy.
Maybe I just have bad luck with who I get as trapper

No I mean picking a group of gens that are clustered together and then trapping loops(not pallets or walls) in the area.
its going to throw the first half of the match but most of the time they’ll three gen themselves giving closing to you.
Throw on pop and blood warden. The second half is all yours. They’d have to be a very very good team to over come that.
don’t chase them into already completed gen zones where you haven’t trapped you’ll destroy your momentum by doing this in the second half.
trapper is a strategy end game killer. The more people realize this the better results they’ll have with him.
Yes I've done this, they rekted my traps as soon as I entered a chase, until all was gone, I got a few hooked but at the cost of all my traps, then it was a standard 3 gen, it's then another game thinking it was a fluke cause I believed that would be the game changing strat, after 3 gens left, hatch, so setting up leads to that, then I did again cause they did hatch, fluke I thought, but nope, same as the first, someone took me for a ride in my own death pit avoiding each and every trap, and the rest took them out one by one, I will admit, I raged on that one, threw on Freddy and won a ton of games cause I got a bit annoyed lol

Trapper is not nearly as bad as you’re making him out to be. He could definitely use some buffs, but he’s in no way an F tier killer.
If you’re placing traps all over the map in all the obvious places then yes, he’s fairly weak. The way to play him is by placing your traps in one section of the map and corralling the survivors into those traps like cattle. If you play survivor then you should know the places they will run to in a chase, the key is to exploit that knowledge.
If you are not using your traps wisely then he’s as basic of a killer as you can play, but that doesn’t mean he is garbage.
They aren't placed randomly, I've tried that method, it doesn't work, nor does the method you mentioned, by the time you've done that, a survivor has seen and the rest most likely knows afterwards, and will make every effort not to go there, trapper just doesn't have enough for him to be worthwhile, I hear all the advice but even when I try it, even when watching other do exactly what I did, it doesn't work for me, if it works for you, you got special survivors but all of mine never goes where I want them to go, I can copy exactly as they do, and since all of what these YouTube videos never work I had to do my own stuff and it actually works better, as in I actually win, trapper isn't one of them that wins, and I do better ignoring the guides, I'll stick with my killers that can actually win, I have them to do different roles anyways

- don’t place traps in far too obvious places.
- Try and be sure you’re not being watched by survivors when placing traps. (Whispers)
- It doesn’t matter if survivors disarm traps. They’re still taking a risk by giving away their location, and you can try to punish accordingly.
Wait, your survivors disarm them? I wish mine did

Are you doing gen strategies for your set up?
Depends what you mean by that, if you mean they are dotted near the gen then lightly, very lightly, if you mean in places people 100% goes to for cover then yes that too
-
Ruin is great, it's a hex so it can be removed and punish those on high ranks that fail a great skill check, they do deserve it, they should be OP by rank 3 at least and that's me giving some slack, what the issue is, is that because of high ranks being so good hence high ranks, gens are done at stupid times without ruin, stupid times with it but not as bad, but the only way now to play dbd as a killer is to destroy gen times cause they're done at hypersonic speeds, I'm not even speaking as a killer main but a survivor main, killers are run down so much and has dulled the game, Freddy, cannibal, hill Billy, pig, Myers and ghost face (just) are all that's left for the killers until rank 1-6 where all that remains to have a decent chance is Freddy, Myers, cannibal and hill Billy and that's with dying light, save the best for last, thanatophobia and ruin not cause the killers are bad, but cause being a survivor is easy, why is the killer at our mercy?

@HeroLives said:
I don’t think trapper is bad at all. I think a vast majority of people play like classic trappers and survivors have adapted to it for the most part.
what do I mean by classic trapper?
i mean the basement stairs are trapped.
pallets trapped
windows trapped
along the sides of walls trapped
it’s pretty cut and dry
it’s not that it isn’t affective(Bc it used to be) it’s just that survivors have seen it a million times and it’s become washed out as far as an advantage play.
try some new out of the box trap placements.
also trapper should start with more traps in his base kit by default if not all.
I don't place too typically, the odd few cause you know, tried and true, but I put in places you often retreat quickly to hide when doing gens or just cause it's there, but don't work, trapper needs something for pallets, like Freddy can with the nightmare pallets, they work great for survivors in a rush, maybe not to injure but to slow down or on dropped pallets to slow them down, or place a hidden trap that only damages but works only once per pallet, idfk but he needs a buff cause he feels so....#########
-
@Gibberish said:
He's not outright useless, but he's definitely archaic and in need of a reworking, both of his base kit and his addons.
Even just letting him carry & start with all of his traps would be a massive improvement (though still not enough to make him good).
It's basically blind luck for his traps to get anyone, watching all these help videos I'm convinced are fake, cause when applied, or seen applied in a real game, it's, see through, either that or I'm observant as hell
-
@se05239 said:
You should check out Not Otzdarva on youtube. He has some plenty educational gameplay with Trapper that might teach you a few tips and tricks.
It doesn't help, I play both sides and saw through all of it almost instantly, it would work if he started with alot more, but I've tried his method and I've had it used against me, it's laughable, and I think he needs to update it, survivors at high ranks don't fall for something so obvious, they know it all
-
@HatCreature said:
So the upsides of Trapper are that if you have foresight you can snowball just as hard as Myers and if Survivors are paranoid enough they'll avoid windows. I love Trapper, I'm not a Trapper main nor am I an expert on him but I see his strengths and weaknesses since he is someone I definitely want to be good at but his shortcomings are crippling sometimes.
The problem with Trapper is that the game was not made around him, ironic since he is one of the original 3 and he was the only playable Killer in the Beta so you'd think the game and its mechanics would revolve around that.
Trapper does need buffs, probably more buffs than any other Killer since his power is so unique and vastly under equipped to how far the game has come. He is the only Killer who wastes HIS OWN TIME using his power, Huntress has to search lockers to refill her Hatchets but that is nowhere near as bad as Trapper. Trapper is a great Killer concept-wise but his mechanics and design is lacking and inherently flawed.
If Trapper started with all of his traps then he wouldn't be wasting as much time because he would focus solely on placing them and not half with searching. He would need to retrieve them eventually but that would be much later in the match and that would be ok.
Start with all traps and get rid of the bag add-ons so he is always able to carry all of his traps. Implement that then he saves so much time and doesn't actually increase in power but instead becomes more balanced.
That is actually pretty much the issue summed up into a big fix, definitely have survivors a bit more cautious and much slower

To say that nobody asked for changes is objectively untrue. It doesn't take much searching to find a whole trove of videos, threads, and comments about The Spirit. I think you're missing the point of the argument, it's very rarely about how powerful she is, it's about not being fun to play against. You cannot tell someone that they're having fun when they're not, that's not up to you to decide.
If you want to argue that a video game shouldn't be fun to play, I'm not sure what to say at that point.
Those people that are asking for changes are cause they don't know how to do anything but pallet loop, I've gone Vs spirit many times and everything they have said I found pretty much the opposite, she to be totally honest, she is weak already, just not many people realised how to abuse her own power on her, I always thought she was top level myself, just then I noticed the clear subtle signs of her location in phase walk and abused the hell out of it, and the people I played with thought me a god, all I did instead of pallet loop was use the typical tactic spirit uses of phase then walk around to sit back and forth on a pallet, she gave up eventually then used it to try to chase me, I urban evasion crouched away into cover and she lost me, I make noise to try and lure and repeat these steps until they decide to just walk normal and force it into standard pallet loop, all 5 done, not even an injured state up to the exit I was too cocky and got hit but was at exit so didn't matter, spirit really isn't that strong, nerfing her with completely kill her, she is great for a checky grab if you don't get someone to distract her, that's when spirit makes the game changer, the hooks is all she can about be strong in, unless someone has borrowed time, the issue isn't a case of nerfing, it's a case of people needing to not rely to typical tactics until you force her no other way to have a chance, the people dying to her are just incapable of adapting

It's not funny at all, period. ?
I find the threats to my life very funny, what they gonna do? Actually go out their way to me and stab me in my yard? That's cool, my life ended cause they're that pathetic, might aswell upset them as much as possible in the mean time, I've had, on counting to saved files, 500+ death threats from rainbow 6 alone, look back and forth to typing and files, I'm above 2000, and each time I provoke it more, cause it's funny to me, how someone would threaten to kill someone over something so pathetic, I know its happened, but I'll laugh when it's to me, not as much when to others, but I'll happily put my input to the conversation I can't actually participate anymore cause it's more hope I'd direct the heat to me instead, cause then I get the humour to myself, one day someone may follow up on it, I'd be impressed, and hope they enjoy a broken hand if they try directly from ringing my door bell cause their hand would have a door slammed on it, and I get a cool new knife, ofcourse I have no idea how that stuff would go down, drunk mind made the situation up, I wouldn't encourage the behaviour, little kids would have nightmares, partly the reason I provoke, incase it's a kid having that directed at, I'd rather myself have that heat than some 12 year old who would become too scared to get to school (happened before to people I know, it's horrible) but yeah, I'll get a kick out of it first
TLDR threatening people that might be kids is wrong, I'm getting involved, I find threats to me funny

Still through, you shouldn't provoke them regardless of what they do — provoking in any way doesn't make the situation better.
All you achieved by provoking them was making him more upset, that's it!
I'm not upset at you, so don't think I'm bashing you or anything because we all make mistakes, including me, but learning from those mistakes is what really matters in the long run! ??
Provoke these kind of #########, it's funny as hell
-
My response, antagonise him more, he want to act like a 5 year old that didn't get the spider man they wanted, treat them as such (what you're about to read are bad insults, it's 3:29 am and I've drunk alot, feel free to rip into me for them)
"If you don't apologize I'll have to take your knife away and put you on the naughty step"
"You can try, but just like you are in life, it'll end in failure"
" Lol, a knife is all you can stab with"
"150? Is that the amount of girls that rejected you and wanting to get your feelings out on me?"
"You won, and you begin making death threats to me? Is this Christmas, give me ya number, send me ya address and I'll pop over"
"Wannabe gangster? Suppose you gotta do something as compensation"
"Use your fists, you'll see how different life is to a game"
"Are you even able to get out of your chair and walk?"
I got more but I put enough y'all can mock me on, imma finish these last few drinks and head to bed, also that guy threating you, just like other people like him, they funny, but still complete douchebag he could be threatening a 12 year old, they can freak out over that, I would only assume he was like 12 himself, cause a normal adult would not send a death threat over a damn game

Tell the Devs to fix the gen issues, and ruin doesn't really ruin a game, if you can't get the great skills, well, good practice, and it makes gens about 20 seconds longer if you're super unlucky, gens normally get done in 10 so 30 seconds on a gen, that's game changing, it's more enjoyable and not a business as usual for survivors, plus, after a quick search as you go about or when learning the spawn points of totems go to each if you really must, that'll take 30 seconds, a whole ruin based gen, and then back to 10 second gens, ruin isn't the issue, gens are

So, I guess facing 4 dwights with 3 "natural perks", with toolboxes would be an nightmare.
That's bond, prove thyself, leader and one other, giving Dwight 1.5% gen speed, since only 1 prove thyself will have an effect unless they split, it's only worth 0.5% gen speed when that could be used for spine chill, or resilience, I have looked, I picked him specifically to have less due to prove thyself, and killers come with a passive too, some that combat that, some that could possibly detect at a range of 1meter per natural perk going up to 3 meters, no one set of character perks is good enough for that max to be worth it, so they get the smallest amount, making it almost obsolete to high ranks, but new players, and characters, they'll all benefit to their current limitations, I have tons of ideas that counter each, as I said it wasn't to make characters massively stronger, infact it encourages them to become weaker, to a level, a best gen build might be with Dwight or another with the passive, but for anything effective Dwight alone would probably only get 0.5/1% extra, for anything effective, a killer with gen repair hindrance would counter that right away, but stops them having too much of it cause only some killers has perks that make gens longer but will stop the requirements of these perks to every killer, I just need to think heavily on the final numbers to make it sound more likable for all, so there is a benefit but not to a set of requirement, it's simply to immerse the game a bit more, and help newer players, out, ofcourse 0.1 would be too little and 1.5 would be too much for gen repair but 1.5 would be too little for healing speeds and 5 would be too much, I'd still rather use my Claudette with self-care and botany knowledge, we give 1% each perk for heal speed that's 2% not a great deal, but enough for you to know "that's Claudette's identity" I use prove thyself (BP and gen) doesn't even need to be game boosting things, maybe just extra BP just something so a character's perks are truly theirs

This is pretty dead on accurate. I have to go out of my way to drag games on until I hit green ranks again and then it becomes a coin flip if it'll be a smash or a rout.
Then once you start hitting purple it gets real sweaty. I've never been below 8 as survivor but i haven't been super impressed with many killers I've faced.
Yeah, I try to stay in the R.I.P survivors as a killer and I try to stay the lower end of R.I.P killers cause it's easier to manage than rank 1

It's great in paper but gameplay isn't. Survivors will no longer be meat skins, but now everyone will probably play with the best passive.
That's why I'm thinking that numbers are balanced, so they all are as good as each other, hence I feel a heal passive is stronger than gen repair passives, and it also only activate and stack when using that character's natural perk on the character, I'd still play better healing, the idea of picking the numbers I feel upon thinking
Gen repair passive: 0.5%-1% per natural perk (gens are quick enough and Dwight gets 0.5% cause of prove thyself and some get 1% cause they have more sneaky gen instead, maybe change numbers around to some perks aren't left too strong in one and too weak in others, making the choice of stealth or repair more thought out to personal play style)
Gen regression passive: 1% damage gen regression speed per natural perk
Tinkerer (I know perk name, can't think of anything else): gen repair speeds decreased by 2% per natural perk (some will definitely get that 2% but won't be getting much extra from gens with the gen perks available I'm thinking on survivor numbers)
Athlete (this could go on both) movement speed increased by 0.75% per natural perk
Too many ideas to put here but you get the idea, they aren't massive, just enough to make the original owner of perks actually feel like they own them, I'm really not saying ungodly numbers just enough for immersion with your character
-
I mean, that's called bad luck, and poor teammates, never have everyone go to a one way only area, that's asking to die, why report something, best thing you all could have done is go to him where you can't pass and accept your fate, if you mean he is walking around then that isn't even an issue, you just need to brave it, as for noed, meh, not hard to deal with, except in your position, then you all played yourselves, should have hit those totems, BP and noed insurance, however if he is blocking even with you there for your fate and he does nothing, that's trolling/ griefing so report with that
-
I have a new proposal, buff it all, buff it all, just want to play the game, I don't care, what others may say, the Devs never bothered me anyway
-

I hate being nice >:(
I feel you picked it as a joke, or was you an actual no, fair enough if you don't, it was an idea to make perks from the original character be more, them, survivors are basically meat skins, but to not give killers the same boost wouldn't be fair
-
Ask questions if I'm not clear enough on anything
-
That's a poor idea, good on paper, wouldn't be good in game, you'll basically just murder any build just like that, maybe a slight passive to different survivors, Claudette has 2% faster healing per natural perk or 1% gen repair per natural perk or Dwight (0% if they have none of there's) that's 3% gen speed Dwight can get but some perks will outclass that extra gen speed, but to compensate, survivor die hards need to lay off the killers a bit on nerf cries for everything, or give killers a passive based on how they play to their perks, Myers evil build is 0.5% quicker per natural perk, not too much, but enough to make the difference when trying to outdo a max gen efficient Dwight cause he definitely will have 1% minimum (prove thyself will defo be on for him) some will share same passives, but different perks, that would work, if all done right, be better than the murder of builds that's for sure

Ah, I think I've worked out the survivor skills and killer skills based on this comment, 20-17 new players (both) leave em be, or give advice if you ever somehow meet one, 16-14 an actual game for those still learning but not abusive as such (both) this can be fun to try new builds as an experienced player, 13-10 ######### (survivors) 13-9 ######### (killers) rank 9-5 R.I.P killers rank 4-2 R.I.P survivors rank 1 R.I.P killers
-
Nearly done, once I'm on the game I'll look but I'm halfway on second to last page and then the last page to go afterwards (no money was used except for the premium cause I want them cosmetics, they actually look quite good)

If you play a game, whatever you're up against, deal with it, suck it up buttercup, the killer job is to ruin your enjoyment and survivors are meant to ruin the killers, difference is that killers gets to ruin up to 4 players fun I've played both sides, I see Mori used, I just play pure objective and survival, y'all can die, if all is safe then maybe I'll heal, depends on if it would benefit me later, but it's gens or hatch with Mori, I see a key, swiggity swag, your death's in the bag, I see a SFW I turn up the bass, swing chain, jump rope, dying light, ruin, thanatophobia, save the best for last, Freddy coming to give y'all the worse nightmare ever, forget escape, I'll catch up sooner, gens will be forever, you're best bet is be really, really, really stealthy and get them alarm clocks, cause you ain't getting a gen otherwise, and the longer your gens take, the more hooks and hits I get that isn't obsession, the worse it gets for you, or hatch, for obsession only haha does it mean Freddy is OP? No, gen perks still able to power through very effectively, just every SFW salt loser makes it seem like this, I've been up against it and the pressure was awesome, it actually felt like I was trying to survive, it actually felt like I was at the killer mercy, as it should be, I can hear when he is nearby, I just need to be ultra stealthy, hard but very doable, I've done it, but it was the most fun I ever had, every other killer is dull, it's just multiple ways to lose, Freddy needs to stay as he is, I love the pressure of being at the mercy of a killer and not bully a killer, that makes no sense to be able to do, or am I the only survivor that likes a game about surviving a killer actually be about surviving a killer?

Meg is left mangled with a deep wound, she must be broken, she should make his actions exposed, and make sure he is oblivious to her plans, but being pregnant has her being hindered when trying to be undetectable
