Yeah, I mained her back in her prime many years ago because she was so OP. I still have the muscle memory to play her very well. I find it one of the easiest DBD experiences unless you load into a particularly hideous map like Lery's.

So you're struggling against "brain dead" killers... Don't say you're not struggling because that's what causes survivors to get tilted... And tilted survivors fire off about "brain dead" killers.

Also if a SWF has a map n key combo in lobby, blame them for the match being un-fun because they brought fire and I fight fire with fire. They are getting franklin's, then tunnelled and mori.

    wait...it doesn't affect Overcharge anymore?

Man, it feels like every DbD patch makes the game more and more bland and tasteless.

Ikr... Hey for now dragons grip works really well with OC because it's about the time they scream that the skill check activates. Not as effective as Huntresses Lullaby bc of the cooldown. Still fun though.

Keep that on the DL if they hear, they'll ruin it🔇

Yes it is intentional. Sorry, hatch is a free unearned escape and that is what the developers want it to be.

    🤬📢💨 AWWW HORSE #########!!!!

I digress, thanks for the info.😁

  • I love his mechanics. I refuse to play him anymore until the fix his FOV/POV.

I'm ps4 too but I think it's too low on all platforms. On ps4 however I HAVE noticed that frame rates suffer because at high speed that low POV seems to cause stutter.

In today's devstream Mathieu brought up the possibility of a character licence expiring (be it due to Behaviour not having the money to extend the licence, the licence owner not being interested in extending it, or the licence owner changing and the new owner not being cooperative) - and then haven't said what exactly would it mean for DbD if that happened.

Would the DLC still be in the store?

If not, would people who already purchased the characters still be able to use them?

If not, what would happen with the money they spent on the dlc/cosmetics and the bloodpoints invested to level them up?

I have studied this quite a bit. I was a top tier F13 player and youtube creator when the license came under fire.

Any content created, being created, or planned (with actual release dates, betas etc) would remain in game and the dlc would still be available. However, without a proper license deal with whomever owns the IP after the license expires, no new content regarding that character could be planned.

I've often wondered if Freddy has had some IP issues considering he's based off a one-off remake that the original writer was not fond of. Could this explain the fact that Freddy has no customization options in store?

    --note*----

the Freddy situation is just food for thought and a curiosity of mine. No such info has ever been shown.

    --------------

  • Is it intended that a survivor with an activated rbt can escape through the hatch? Is this a bug? I've seen it a few times and this is straight BS. The hatch is already a free escape route regardless of progress made. It shouldn't negate the rbt... Exit gates kill survivors with active rbt. Why wouldn't the hatch logically...

  • Using distressing makes it easier to phase grab people. People inside your terror radius don't hear the phasing sound.

Using predator helps pinpoint where people are while phasing. ( Stridor too if they fix sound delay).

One thing to try is fake phase for just a couple seconds just to see what their reaction is. Don't fake too long just long enough to determine if they're going to sprint, crouch, stop etc.

DC penalty just means both sides playing scummy in attempt to make the other's life hell all the while they revel in the fact they can't opt to leave the game.

It doesn't fix the issues that cause DCing and in fact exacerbates a lot of it; we all know it, but it doesn't matter because a certain loud minority overshadow the rest of us.

Not many in game options/patches will fix entitled players not getting their way. Which is where 90% of dc's come from in my experience. If playing scummy means not letting you escape or not allowing you a free 4k... What does it mean exactly?

I love making Davids scream with Mr Doctor. I just love his yelling and grunts while I carry him.

NoEd(do bones) It is especially juicy when a toxic Survivor is t-bagging at the gate, just a little too far from the point of no return, giving me the ability to hook them.

As a Survivor, I love making Killers look for me and never finding me. I know many get mad but it is my preferred playstyle.

This is especially great when you're deathslinger and they don't know you have NOED yet.

yeah well what about legion? clown? Ghost face? Pig? I’m sorry they didn’t give these killers steroids before the match. They didn’t give them crazy pills. Not all of them are really even mutants stop it lol this is a video game anyways. If we want to talk realistically maybe you have a case. But no, it’s about Balance. Jesus Christ the killers don’t need to mow you down when they find you. It’s already ridiculously easy to find them. That’s not fun for survivors.

The entity excepted them and imbued them with powers. Also it appears they were also experimented on by the blight. Read some lore

  • I'm old as well... By most standards lol. I've always imagined that the median age is mid teen (that's how I explain away the toxicity)... But I bet if we knew the truth we'd all be shocked.

I think his lower back and knee pressure is OP... He definitely needs a buff on lung pressure though 😂

  • Make your choice variant----

    Narcoleptic Ultimatum:

When a survivor is unhooked at least 32 meters from you, the rescuer will enter the dream state and look like an absurd bobblehead-ish being from a freddy trial until the unhooked survivor "slaps them out of it".

The "slap out of it" action notifies you of the survivors location with loud noise notification and snoring.

    Flip flop variant----

    Flip the flop off:

When in the dying state, recover 30% slower. Recovering to 100% activates: Flip the flop off, when the killer stands near you hit the active ability button to swiftly lift the killer onto your shoulders and move at 190% speed for 60 seconds screaming "vroom, vroooooooom".

  • Personally, I would start with giving him add-ons that aren't laughable. It's pretty sad that I have 50 ultra rare add-ons but struggle not to run out of the couple rare ones that actually help him a little bit.

    @SunderMun said:

Remove quickscoping, increasing ADS sensitivity so that you actually get rewarded for good aim. Make his TR actually exist. If he feels weak like this, maybe give him 115, but 110 during ADS.

Quick scoping takes a lot of skill and good aim, you are literally aiming without ads while weaving and chasing with no cross hair and no COD style aim assist... it's not like we can spam-shoot over and over and it's incredibly punishing when you miss. There's a missed shot cooldown where you're slowed, plus another huge slowdown when you reload... Plus he's already a 110 killer.

People spend TONS of time learning quick scoping. I main Slinger and most good survivors can move from line of sight blocker to line of sight blocker efficiently enough that I rarely fire at all.

It's another case of "this isn't a typical m1/standard loop-able killer" so just scream "he's OP and needs a rework" rather than learn and adapt.

Thanks for taking the time out to respond first of all.

If it's just data points and MMR isn't actually active, is it possible to re-enable switching killers in lobby?

Sometimes I try playing a killer that I'm horrible with and have very little experience and I end up in a match with a map and key in lobby. I don't like dropping out of a lobby because I'm not going to stand a chance. It just causes long que times for all.

Again, I know you folks are busy so thanks in advance for your time here.

I would rather they don't safe me if the killer just camp in front of me. 🤦

    Just finish the gens.

Exactly... Survivor is TEAM based. If I'm being camped I'll give the team as much time as possible to complete gens before dying. If they all stop gens and start heading my way I'll kill myself on hook so they don't get slugged trying to rescue me.

We should have a signal system... If someone tries coming to save you, and it's not safe we should spam the unhook to flail to let others know it's not safe. Stay still (on first hook) to say it's safe...

Using tinkerer with trail of torment is a good combo too, and I would encourage that over save the best for last. Bubba isn't a traditional m1 killer. His chainsaw is his power, and if you were to discourage using his power for all but the obsession, then it defeats the purpose of using Bubba.

To clarify what I meant was just don't m1 the obsession. Not to only use chainsaw on that one person. Chainsaw attack any time you can effectively. It just helps to buff his m1 recovery which people don't expect.

  • Don't chainsaw attack in tight loops. The speed gained makes it tempting but you'll hit something and tantrum until you get really good with it. Tinkerer is great as you can get fairly close before charging your saw. People will naturally run into tight corridors when they here your saw, use this to bait them into places you can body block then use the saw. Also STBFL is a good perk for him just use saw on the obsession. The m1 recovery after 8 tokens makes him terrifying.

  • @gatsby said:

It seems like most Killers don’t like good old fashioned looping anymore. They’ll leave you at the drop of a hat if you’re playing good and camp you like crazy if they can tell you’re playing bad.

Killers with anti-loop spam that stuff so hard it’s like they’re allergic to looping normally. Huntress, Doctor, Pyramid, Freddy and Billy players will go around and around for ages trying to use their power, when they could’ve just looped the standard way, ate the pallet and moved on. It’s actually crazy.

Are most Killers unconfident and rusty with their traditional looping now or what?

Looping is a survivor tool to buy time for other survivors to complete their objectives.

The killer objective is to kill the survivors before they finish their objective...

Using simple deductive reasoning, it should be obvious why killers avoid extended looping.

You can tell what perks are Survivors using through out the match, this Meg does have Sprint Burst, this Nea just unhooked herself with Deliverance, this person didn't DSd me after 55 seconds, this David does have Dead Hard, etc.

With changing perks mid match that would create a lot of confusion for the Killer and maybe for other Survivors aswell.

Ah... I got ya. Thanks for clarifying. Makes sense.

  • The killer doesn't know which perks are used til post match. Unless I misunderstood your point...

    @AhoyWolf said:

Not the biggest fan of the idea.

Killers already need to remember which Survivor uses which perks, this change could make it even more confusing sometimes.

Two of my friends and friends are abusive to killers in the end game but they do it because they legitimately feel like killer is OP because of how bad they are so when they win ultimately because the killer was just worse than them or the killer chases me too long or camps me after catching me they're really rude about the win. And that's probably a big group of survs. I've had a guy call me ######### racial slurs and spam messages because I wouldn't eat a decisive strike. Dude was spamming in and out of a locker after getting unhooked near me and even after I left he kept going so I came back downed him and left him there. Hook killed the next and then hook killed him and let the claud live because she was the only one doing gens. Locker spammer then does all the chat abuse I said above. Like no I'm not gonna eat a free DS hit

I legit had a match as Deathslinger today against 3 survivors packing purple flashlights and all 3 DS and unbreakable and 2 (3 counting the 4th player) had borrowed time. I happened to have my build set up for bullies... Mad grit, Agitation, and Lightborn 😁. Once I found one all 3 just tried to flashlight stun me, block hooks... I mowed them down so fast. Still in a frenzy I kicked the hatch shut before even thinking "the feng min is the one that did 2 gens, and didn't participate in the mob😳".

She was terrified, I had to wave her to the gate for like 10 seconds and she still wouldn't move til I took off for the other side of the map. She got out with just maybe 10 to 15 seconds left. I would've felt bad if she died because I believe she was solo and just trying to escape.

Side question: why will it only allow killer to open gates sometimes? I tried because it's faster and had no interaction prompt... I've always wondered why some you can and some you can't . Any idea?

  • Survivor: Spine Chill. Can't do anything without it (I play killer 90 percent... So I suck at chases as survivor).

Killer: none that I have to have because they're all build based for me but I love MAD GRIT! I love hitting body blockers and getting extra time to carry too😆

  • Hey! You have a wonderful day ok! Thanks for the relief from the toxicity 😃

  • I don't play survivor nearly as much as killer but I also see this a lot when I play survivor. If I'm hooked first and the next person gets slugged, I watch to see what the other survivors are doing. If they're doing gens I'll struggle til the very last moment to buy them time to punish the camping killer. But if they're making their way to me I kill myself on hook before they can get slugged. I think a lot of solo que survivors feel like bad team mates if they leave you on a hook and feel more obligated to save you the longer you're hooked. I'd much rather buy them 2 gens worth of time. Campers only 4k due to this altruism.

  • If the obvious nurse is off the table.

Based on player skill and creativity I'd say Trapper.

He's not anywhere near as effective as nurse but using such few resources that are so easily countered makes it that much more satisfying when it all comes snowballing down.

I don't use him very often and most times I get steam rolled but I have to say, it's so enthralling to go from 1 gen left and 4 survivors alive to a 4k because of a few creative traps.

  • If your not actively tunneling and get baited into a ds, it's enraging. However those survivors that jump right on a gen/totem or jump in and out of a locker to bait you will do it after 1st hook... I eat the ds THEN I actually tunnel that survivor because they chose to waste their anti tunnel perk. It could be optimized to prevent the level of abuse it affords but when used as intended it's fine. Sometimes I'll accidentally tunnel someone due to character and clothing clones and when I get ds I realize I chased the wrong person... It's never right off hook but I still never get upset if I tunnelled inadvertently.

  • Right? It was hard not to see the good humor in mine... It wasn't nearly this condescending and presumptuous.

  • Wow I've received warnings from mods for far less... and mine were just comments made in good humor. You made a thread just to trash console players 🤭. Did you look at the rules regarding respect? Well thank you for the "PSA" I'll inform the other 2 that still haven't disabled cross play to avoid your style of ignorance.

  • @Lunairtic said:

I play console, PS4 to be exact. I tried crossplay for a full week doing nothing but solo Q. The result? I considered dropping the game entirely. I'm not going to blame one platform or the other but, I would say 88% of my games were complete garbage. From the teammates, to the killer, to the chases. Everything was awful.

Now if rank is on your mind then let me clarify by saying yes I'm red rank, consistently rank 2 & 3 but go up and down within it.

Every single game I was tunneled again and again. Other players would deliberately bring the killer to interrupt gens just because they didnt want to die. There was no teamwork. It was everyone for themself. Farming out the ***, people just letting others die on there first hook. Full health players running to the injured person to kill them instead.

The bottom line is with my experience, crossplay is the worst thing to have happened to me. But as soon as I turned it off I had such a better experience. 1000x better, and the ques were still the same speed if crossplay was turned on. I wasn't constantly tunneled, I actually got people in my rank as well. It was miracle. It's only been one day since I switched off Crossplay and I will never, ever turn it back on.

Tldr; If you are a console player I recommend you turn off Crossplay. It was the best decision I ever made.

Have your wait times changed at all? I'm ps4 as well, killer mainly and I've avoided turning it off because I don't want to wait 10 mins per match. Are que times ok?

Good thing DS is less used and less popular than Lithe, said a Dev.

2 hours and still trying this achievement.

I think the key word they can leverage to say it's truth is "used"... If you think about it if 4 survivors bring DS it will get USED a maximum of 4 times. Lithe can be USED many times by just one survivor, meaning if 4 were to have lithe it would be used a dozen or more times...

Tricky politician talk goes a long way in avoiding telling a straight truth.

I'll probably get shamed for this but where did this mentality of, "You didn't juke him he just missed."

Its not a mentality, its a fact. You can not react to his quickscope, especially not if he is semi-close range.

^^^This is true... He may miss because you are weaving but it is all just random luck on survivors part. You can't possibly react in time. I main deathslinger I would advise using line of sight blockers because any decent slinger will see you weaving and fake scope you randomly and close a lot of distance in the process.

I get many m1 hits by quick scope spamming weavers.

My queues are very short sir. You will not find a single comment from me complaining queues are long. Unless I mean PTB. YOUR queues may be long but mine sure aren't. Also yes the game isn't built around comms obviously they didn't include it for a reason. But they can't do anything to stop it and they know that. Game dies when they do. Way too many people play with friends and they've said before that 4man SWF are a very small percent of all SWF and they also confirmed the escape rates are not much better. And you as a killer have zero way of knowing if they're SWF unless they tell you. So half the time you probably just got beat because you didn't do some things as well as you could've.

I've played many games where the killer would ask if we were a SWF and probably be shocked to hear that we weren't. We were just solo players that aren't playing with our brains off and know the game enough to outdo the killer. Plus games like this are balanced in a way where the survivors have a slight edge due to teamwork and numbers. But the killer can win with knowledge, skill and capitalizing on mistakes. That is how you're meant to get a 4k and beat a SWF

I have no problem admitting when I'm out played. It happens from time to time and I try to figure out what I could've changed and learn from it. A 3 or 4 SWF team is quite obvious. Just because players play without their "brain off" would not cause 3 players to systematically rush a totem after I hook a person trying to break it... Things like that are comms no doubt.

Most teams IDC, a lot of them are not try-harding. Hell, earlier I'm fairly certain 2 of a 4 man SWF deliberately allowed me to kill them.

The ones that go in to use this advantage to bully the killer, spend ample time body blocking in a musical chairs fashion and still tbag at the gate on the opposite side of the level til the end game finishes or til you trek over just to speed it up. Then send hate in the post game chat... They are the problem. I have entire builds set just for 1 to 2 kills against these types. Which they usually dc as soon as 1 is headed to death hook. I understand there is toxicity on both sides but it feels less like dealing with a group of legit bullies dealing with a toxic killer.

Idk how to fix it, and most things that would fix it could be grossly abused against solo que.

It needs to be acknowledged though and dealt with to a degree. Because it's breeding some nasty behaviour... Some kids won't have the who cares mentality and will get victimized then berated if it's not addressed.

  • @GoshJosh said:

Yeah, so we can go against Undying, Ruin, Thrill of the Hunt, Retribution, and Haunted Grounds all in one match!!!

    Literally... There aren't enough totems

  • I do the same. If 1 is overtly being toxic I tunnel them down and allow others escape.

I've done this where the survivor was being blatantly toxic to their team as well. Fast vaulting right near a gen being worked on, messing up skill checks then trying to reveal which locker the other survivor hid in... I just tunnel the toxic even if they're toxic to the opposite side.

  • I use this build (well dragon grip and OC). OC actually seems to delay them noticing that dragons grip is active. My guess is they just think it's weird that their character screamed when they missed OC skill check. That's just my guess but I'm certain that this combo has people hiding far less often while exposed...

  • Most matches that result in camping the endgame for 1 kill were not fun... In my experience this only happens with highly organized SWF that have every contingency planned. In most cases these teams see 1 person not escaping as a loss so it causes altruistic mistakes that can result in 2 to 3k in a match that would been unwinnable otherwise.

So yes I will camp the the endgame because if I've not gotten a kill by then. It's been a highly organized effort.

Cool opinions, bro. You rarely see map offerings burned? Then you're extremely lucky you aren't going up against the sweaty survivors and killers that I am.

I like the random nature of maps, I don't like map offerings, why would I waste a map offering to go somewhere on the off chance that a killer would have a map offering? That's completely dumb.

Why spend the same bp on an offering that does nothing unless somebody else used an offering you don't like?? I guess wasting bp and adding more useless web offerings is super appealing. And I have at least one of these atrocities in every blood web... How many do you need?

I still kind of think this thread is fake....

  • @Ramxenoc445 said:

No. If they ever give in to killers like you that refuse to actually get better and deal with SWF and Nerf them just because this game will die and your queue times will shoot up for those still playing. You're never getting a SWF Nerf. It just punishes people for playing with friends. My SWF group I'm the ONLY one who is always a red rank on both sides. The rest hardly play so if they got punished for playing with me they'd stop playing and so many other people would as well. It'll never happen because it's a dumb idea. There is a reason they never respond to these ideas and the one time they did they said they wouldn't Nerf SWF for reasons similar to if not the same as what I said. Know what they did say they considered? Making kindred base for solo players to have more info. You as a killer don't want that because SWF or not they'll know where you are.

This game is not built around SWF with comms... The fact that the game didn't die already shows us killers have evolved to a degree... But it's not giving in to us killers. It's keeping the core 1v4 mechanics IN WHICH WAS INTENDED in the first place. It's the devs giving in to the constant crying of survivors that has ruined the game at all... That's why your ques are 10x as long as mine.

If you don't think development is heavily survivor sided you are delusional.

  • @FFabeq said:

It would make killer side less painful in red ranks, and more interesing build will come into play.

Nope it's "balanced" around 4 perks. 4 killer perks and 16 survivor perks + unmoderated comms. So... Yeah... Balanced around 4 perks🤔

  • I agree. Either make it active more than 30 sec after kick. This barely allows you to leave before it deactivates. Or, as you said if not triggered shorten the cooldown to 30 seconds because 30 already went by.

  • I think it's totally useless and another pollutant to the blood web. Just burn a map offering you don't mind and even if another is burned you have a 50 50 of it being your map. I rarely see map offerings burned... Why do I want to stockpile rare offerings (at 5k bp each) to burn JIC a map offering is burned? Might as well double the appearance of cypress mori's too if the point is to waste bp on useless offerings.

Is this even a serious thread? I hope it's a joke.
