We all have these same issues in both roles. The helpless feeling happens constantly in survivor too, when the killer gets so much momentum so fast that there's zero chance of recovery. I have people AFKing under hook and running up to me to die every time I play. I personally never feel that way as killer because I can still win in end game.
The MMR raising too quickly is a problem for everyone too. You go form getting the worst players you've ever seen to psychos, while feeling there's very little in between. It's a whole game issue, not just a killer issue.
I recently experienced this stomp:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/0Y8T3O1ZS7OJ/19cc1343d0158-screenshoturl.jpg
I got two hooks. The solo had gen perks but that's not what blew it for me, it was being matched with three perkless anons that were probably high performers on a win streak, with a new killer I'm still learning (but doing decent with) and also on Badham. Matchmaking, the map, and my own lack of ability lost me this match.
I've had a game as a Blight yesterday, that I overcommited a good player on macmillan map with a lot of great fillers.
3 gens popped as I killed him and the game was over too. Got zero kills because of that.
There are some really hard matches, for sure.

It just isn't that simple. They cant make hook incentives that suit every killer and some killers are simply limited by their design, they could never be made to have an anti-tunnel playstyle because it would change their identity.
It's also not a good start to do something like this nearly 10 yrs into the games life span. It's destructive when these things have literally shaped how the game is to try and outright remove and exterminate any semblance of it.And I agree on that.
Oni and Twins would be especially hard to balance.
They need to slug sometimes to get any value of the power.Game has changed since the beggining and 10 years is especially good time for changes and some fresh air.

I haven't changed my build or my focus but I have lost hope in the role. The tunneling and camping have gotten worse and worse. I've also had a massive uptick in killer's BMing me for no reason. The only thing that makes survivor bearable is playing with friends, and nobody really wants to anymore. I've been playing solo to get my iri for the season and it's been horrendously bad. If I ever lose the compulsion for that big red one to match my killer rank, I could see myself mostly dropping the role. I'm happier playing killer.
And you're right, I've been playing as Henry almost exclusively since his release and I don't care about pallets. DS is useless. People bait me into a grab and I take the bait because I can just snipe them with vines immediately after the stun. New killers are strong and survivor got a measly 5s added to the basekit BT that does nothing except help in end game.
Exactly.
This really needs to be balanced better, because pallets and windows are the only things that introduce some interactions between both roles for survivior side.
Without it I feel just like the NPC.
Just running around, hoping that killer will not be accurate enough. -
I've been in 30-40k hours surviviors lobby before and people with 500 hours would get us.
It is definitely unfair and should be looked into

You're conveniently forgetting all the survivor efficiency buffs while not compensating killers for it, even nerfing them further in addition, making it worse and more miserable to play for them. There's a reason the killer anxiety movement has become a thing. You're obviously keen to only see one side of the coin and base your argument on that and not the overall state of the game.
Killers have to more than ever end chases quickly to keep up with gen efficiency. That's simply the direction the game has gone due demanded changes and the speed the game can play out now. Short of further nerfing maps directly to accomplish that, killer design has to now shift towards a combination of mobility, anti-loop, slowdown and weakening resources for survivors to feel good to play.
I really can't think of any.
Was changing completing gen time from 80 to 90 seconds a survivior buff?
What about prove thyself nerf?Killers have to end chase quickly because of the gen speeds? Us arguing about this is like arguing about chicken and egg - what was first?
Killers need to end chases quick, because surviviors do gens.
Surviviors need to do gens quick, because killers are too opressive in chase and on top of this they bring 3-4 slowdowns every game. How am I wrong in saying that killers being too oppressive is direct reason why people had to become more efficient?
-
I mean anti-tunneling and anti-slugging systems would be a good start for health and longevity of the game.
Surviviors would be happier overall.
Killer would have some buffs for hooking (first iteration of anti systems)
Killers who wouldn't keep up with the pace would be buffed, which was told by BHVR stuff. All we needed was finding a way to stop survivors to use the system agressively.
I really believe that surviviors efficiency is direct way to fight killers who felt too comfortable because of the tunneling.
That's their only way to fight back right now, when we don't count the perks. -

Appart from what they can add in the future, The Baba Jaga is currently a legendary skin for the Huntress. And id say the closest you'll get to survivors for now is perhaps The Witcher (Geralt of Rivia - legendary skin for Vittorio), as i was told by a friend that game's fantasy world is based off Slavic culture.
Definitely Witcher is slavic. It's made by a Polish writer.
Leshy is also a skin for artist
-
Slavic culture actually have a lot of amazing/scary/interesting monsters, characters.
Slavic culture is actually also interesting itself.
I can talk about Poland, I am Polish.
We have a lot of let's call "monsters" and gods in our beliefs.
Here is a list of our mitological gods:
- Perun - god of sky, lightning, storm
- Swarożyc - god of fire and sun
- Weles - god of underworld, magic and wealth
- Mokosz - Goddess of earth, fertility and women
- Leszy - forest spirit, guardian of wildfire and nature.
Some of evil characters aswell:
- Baba Jaga - Witch living in a woods. She was kidnapping and eating children.
- Strzyga - vampire-like demon who hunted at nights. She was draining force of the living.
- Topielec - spirit of someone who drowned. He lured people into lakes, rivers and dragged them underwater.
That would be nice introduction to "water" killer. - Południca - Noon demon appearing in fields during harvesting. She would attack the workers and causing madness, heartstroke or death.
- Mara Senna (you can actually call it nightmate) - spirit/demon that caused nigthmares, she would suffocate people in their dream.
Sorry for the polish names, I had no idea how to translate them :( Polish words sometimes are impossible to translate, haha.
Those would be interesting killers.
For survivior we could have slavic women who wear long, white and red dress and would wear flowers in their hair. Blonde or brown hair, blue eyes.
-
I only noticed the problem in one of crotus map - one with big circular main in the middle.

I havent really noticed a drop in killer players, but I have noticed a very significant drop in survivor players. BP rewards are consistently higher towards survivor, and the only times I see them towards killers, is 3-4am my region when 99% of potential players are asleep. And they've been dropping since April last year.
As for new players, I wont be so sure, pretty much all the player gain from RE and FNAF have all goneIt's probably because "survivior mains" switched to playing killer.
Wild guess, I know.
-
- 1. Making gens take longer would destroy survivior experience entirely. We would lose too many surviviors.
Yes, you would have much easier games, but you would wait 3 times longer for a game.
2. No, this is bad idea. There is nothing fun with having no resources on the map. Game is not engaging at all.
4. Why would you give up? Just force people out. It's not that deep.
5. It's not that deep.
6. You can't punish people who play with each other just for existing.
- 1. Making gens take longer would destroy survivior experience entirely. We would lose too many surviviors.
-
Still people struggle to complete 8 gens.
If 10 gens would need to be completed this mode wouldn't be so popular.
People are stacking the gens and after making full gen BP they just ignore the objective.
-
I don't think this would help good thing.
What it did in 2v8 lobby was making waiting time bearable, because you had something else to do.
It didn't decrease waiting time, but made it worse. This would be bad for people who only want to play killer.
-
This isn't smart idea at all.
Can't punish people for playing the game - this is absurd
-
I like the cosmetics, but I hate the hair on them.
I play on low settings and new hair felt horrible for more than a year now.
Even Taurie's short hair are pixelated.
-
People already don't use flashlight class because its just bad.
Medics save you time.
Guide gives you time by stunning the killer.
Escapist give you time by sprint on demand and free WoO - you know where to go at all time.
Scout let's you rebuild all pallets, it's huge. With the flashlight class people run around waiting for a save that might not happen. Such a waste of time - people already figured that out.

I will speak from my personal experience here, I've played many matches the last few days, and not found anything remotely wrong with the pallets (only Midwich spawns) and same on many streams I watch. It's not about Devs being on Live, it's just that none of us have experienced this at all, which is why we've asked for logs if you do experience it in your game.
Hi @Mandy, about the pallets - did devs delete indoor maps pallets that would always spawn on purpose or is it just a bug?

I agree Nurse, Ghoul and Blight need some tweaks but those arent it. So are not the proposed buffs. Those killers need way more love to compete higher tiers.

Sometimes it's not enjoying the killer survivior go against.
Sometimes it could be phobias (clown, puking, worms, etc)
Sometimes it's just facing the same killers all the time
Sometimes it can be going to the realms they don't enjoy at allI wish we had a system to ban killers from our queues.
I mean we have 42 killers now and being able not to go against one or two killers wouldn't be a bad thing.
When I face multiple ghouls I just stop playing the game. I believe I am not the only one. -

I guess these propositions make game more balanced. But currently nurse is broken literally. She's buggy rn and survivors abuse it. Anyway I won't like to play again as such nurse. So keep it hold.
Yeah, she is exteremely bugged right now and I am sure that DEV team is aware.
I played her after last bugfix and I felt like she is much worse now than before bugfix

I was going to say, I chose the equally option since I do play both sides often and it gave me strictly killer options, oddly enough.
Oh, I chose that I play both and it gave me survivior perspective questions. Interesting!
-
No way you said srviviors abuse dead hard because of no mither xD
Dead hard has 2 uses, both come after a hook.
You can't ever convince me that being healthy and tanking 2 hits + dead hard before death is worse than being insta-downed and maybe be able to tank a hit with dead hard, which is easily countered by waiting.
-
It hasn't been for a while. Nurse is extremely bugged after last patch.
I think that last "bugfix" made her a lot worse to play.@azaxydbd said:

killers dont know how easy they have it nowdays, they dont know dbd before 6.1 patch where survivors could heal in 8seconds with good medkits and had basekit overcome, killers didnt had 2 stacks of stbfl, gen kick/pallets were slower, maps were bigger and safer, map offerings were viable as well, camping and tunneling sure was easier back then, but gens were faster as well, game was a different game, killers today are very spoiled and boosted, i remember when i started to play dbd, in the first month i reach rank 1 on both sides, i was so good even before 6.1 as a killer because i already knew how to deal with all scenarios, people just have it easy today with lots of 50-50 pallets and free hits and downs, in the past u had to break pallets to create deadzones, u needed to think, today playing killer is so easy and boring, i can pick up any killer, master it and do massive winstreaks on those killers because thats how easy this have become, before 6.1 as a killer u could respect 3k hours survivors, today 3k hours is like nothing, due to the fact that they have not as much options as they had back in the day, ur either ultra sweaty 3k or casual nowdays which is more common to be casual 3k, im currently with over 12k hours in the game ive seen it all, game is 100% killer sided right now, and if a killer lost to a SWF when using A-S tier killers then is 100% skill issue.
Well said sir. I remember old times.
Killers were scared to tunnel, because then team would use the hatch to escape at 1 gen left for example.
Killer speed (kicking etc) were so bad.
Actual god loops like double window cow-tree.Now bloodlust is very so accessible, so many killers have great chase power or mobility.
Killer definitely eat good compared to old times. -

Happy now? Believe i mostly play survivor?
Your takes are very killer sided. That's why I assumed you are just a killer main.
Back to the topic - I feel like vecna should be nerfed.
A killer should not be able to kill someone much more experienced within 15 seconds.
This is the thing in Vecna. This killer will be stronger than nurse when people master him long enough.
Every killer should care about pallets and windows. Against vecna you always get hit when you vault. My friend group play different games or play killers all the time after Vecna's release.
This killer is not pleasent and we need to verse him constantly (which is normal, he is new - I know!) and this makes people burn out.
-
I miss old farms - vibe was on amazing!
-
@THE_Crazy_Hyena said:
They are similar, but the Nurse will always be the.. well.. Nurse, who can ignore the conventional gameplay, by essentially having the ability to noclip.
Vecna II doesn't have that ability, but he is better at map traversal outside of chases.
But both ignore pallets and windows and require you to play the same way like PetTheDoggo said before.
Arguably, Vecna will be stronger than nurse after people master him.

I play survivor everyday, but i actually try to learn counterplay to every killer and i don't complain everytime i get tunneled or slugged, which btw doesn't happen in every game like survivors tend to say.
So no im not out of touch. I have almost 5000 hours in this game, most of it on survivor. I also play Solo Q or with another friend, which means we still have 2 soloQ teammembers. What i notice is the biggest issue is the OTHER teammembers.
Instead of complaining about every single little thing, people should try to learn counterplays, maybe watch streamers with thousands and thousands of hours how they play and loop tiles. This game isn't casual anymore. Maybe behaviour needs to give casual people their own gamemode.
You can downvote me all you want, but maybe its time to accept the fact that the biggest issue in this game might just be the other survivors. Game screws you by putting you with survivors that might be hiding in corners, blessing totems, breaking bones and doing everything else than gens. Looping lasts for 10 seconds and then they DC.
About Krasue i said she did have issues. She was oppressive, but she didnt have to be gutted. Right now she feels awful to play. I don't think i've seen one in weeks if im honest.
- edited the Krasue part in. forgot about it.
You can easily prove that you are survivior main. Show us the stats perhaps
-
Maybe it's more about survivior only resources mean nothing to them?
Windows and pallets are guaranteed hits for Vecna.
There is no counterplay other than just "be unpredictable", do weird movement etc.
We need real counterplays.
-
Vecna is Kaneki v2.
I literally hate this spammy design, his misses are very forgiving and he barely loses any distance.
With the latest releases (ghoul, krasue, kaneki) it feels like surviviors experience became much less important.
It's hard to enjoy survivor role lately.
I am playing different games for now. I am just tired of facing the same killer every match. Especially when he is so powerful.
-
I've been saying that after few hours of playing as and against him on ptb.
He is busted. He is nurse-level killer. Especially if we give people time to learn him.
-
Well, I kinda disagree with you OP.
My games are barely any entertaining and I don't really play s-tiers.
I just win as a killer most of the time and it's just not fun. -
We need cooldowns on his power.
The First is a 2-tapp machine.

It's not okay to ruin the game for 4 other people because you can't handle playing against certain characters in a video game. If you're that upset then take a break for a while and play something else.
You clearly don't understand it.
I am not saying that it's okay to ruin the experience for other people, don't get me wrong.
I don't ever DC even on solo que, I get it.If people wouldn't have reasons to DC, no one would leave the games.
We are now in a state of the game that Kaneki, Nurse, Blight and now The First are so strong, that sometimes you don't feel like it's enjoyable experience. Therefore people DC.
You can add bad matchmaking to it, because you often get people that don't feel experienced enough.
Because you get people that don't care about the outcome of the game and are just there because of challenges.
You get players and streamers who play for sole survivior or hatch and just don't care that you are hanging on hook.We only go against small pool of killers that are very opressive.
Matches feel way too more competitive sometimes.
Tunneling happens so often, it feels like it happens 70% of the time.
There is so many reasons people don't want to stay in a doomed match.
-
@ImWinston said:
- Perhaps we should understand the reasons that lead DC to some survivors... for years I've heard (and experienced) the same story. If I were Devs, I'd try to understand why, instead of simply punishing with a ban. If this problem is really as serious as we all claim, it's time to ask ourselves some questions.
I've been saying this for months now.
You can take information from the amount of DC we have.
Too many people DC against blight? Look into in!
Kaneki? Look into it!
Nurse, look into it!Some things are just not fun for people and somehow we refuse to undestand this.
-
From the survivior point of view, I don't enjoy him that much.
He definitely gets a lot of easy hits and is amazing at zoning. He can bodyblock while holding the m2 button - this is strong.
From the killer point, it's really easy to win games. I did 4k3 adept my first try.
It is truly killing machine.I think that when people get good at him he will be nurse-tier.

I've got like 2-3k each map offering I think.

Just to clarify, we don't "value" feedback in this way. A creator's opinion is no more valuable than someone's opinion on the Forums, and X for example is not valued more heavily over Reddit or YouTube comments. We don't use the Creator Program as a means of shutting out other places for feedback. Just like a veteran player is not somehow more or less important than a casual or newer player. All feedback is vital.
We appreciate that it's frustrating to not see everything immediately addressed, but we do see everything and pass along whatever feedback we see so that the team is aware of community concerns and pain points. Replying to everything is just too difficult! But we try!
Considering your answer - why isn't the ghoul being adjusted yet?
Everyone has problem with it and we (as most community) have been vocal about this for long time now. -

Really? I've played one game on a launch day.
We played a chill 3 man swf with not experienced player, who comes to play with us sometimes.
That match went terribly - our least experienced player got tunneled out immidiately and the game was lost at this point.
It wasn't enjoyable at all and we booted different game, didn't come back since.
I have no interest in playing 3v1 and waiting 4 minutes for that in lobby
-
I hope this is being considered.

She has wonky movement, weird lunge attack and unpleasent sound effects (atleast for me).
She is just boring after nerfs, sadly.
-
I played one game with 2 of my friends (3 man swf) and least experienced friend got tunneled out.
We even had and used shoulder the burden on him.All this after waiting 4-5 minutes for the game.
After this one match we moved on to another game.
It's actually sad because it is my favourite game mode
-
For me it's her wonky movement, weird head form lunge and sounds that are not pleasent at all.
-
We definitely need to look into it.
There is a lot of subtle cheaters that get information of the killer before the game aswell.
Did you ever notice that people bring perfect perks against your killer?
Dramaturgy and finesse against your bubba? Iron Will, off the record and fixated against your spirit?Well I noticed. I only verse Iron Will when I play spirit. Never saw it on different killers.
I am 100% sure that a lot of people get this info but do not cheat in game. This needs to be looked into aswell please.
