Add billy to the list, Singularity and Wesker sometimes.
Playing more solo que lately, my playing hours dropped by 50% because of it. Half of matches are blights.

I am sorry for saying this but that's terrible decision.
Dead by Daylight is PvP game and i'd like to have real human teammates, not bots. Even it means longer queues, i will take human over bot any day. I really hope the team rethink about this.
2v8 will be played only for quest then
-
Also, I believe there should me some kind of mechanic, that it detects killer and their personal kill ratio and it doesn't give them easiest maps, so survivors have some breathing room, chance to win.
But hey, at this point it's copium

I literally faced tru3 the other day and he rarely losses if ever, while my escape rate is probably like 10% at best lol.
Mmr is trash, I also went vs other streamers like d3ad plays, cmwinter etc. who have over 10k hours while I don't even have 2k.
Yeah, you are placed with them and thats miserable. tru3 actually plays pretty miserable.
I went against his vecna this month and that was total tunnel on 5 gens. This gameplay doesn't leave any breathing room for surviviors.
Same with me, last week i was matched against seth_kills and he chose to play haddonfield and alt+f4 happened.

Yeah, the Claire who was focussed had 400 hours. But my games yesterday were also really strange, I went against 70% Nurses or so, four of them in a row.
That's exactly what my problem is, mostly nurses and blights, sometimes billys on my MMR and it's so repeatable and miserable, since those are the strongest characters and in good hands its total stomp
I gave up last night on playing dbd, experience wasn't pleasent lately. I chose different game

Yep, exactly that, lol
but still, kinda back to the topic - that's how my matches go if i play dbd late at night without friends xd p100 nurses, blights xD
We both had 9-10k hours that match and couldnt win against p100 nurse with 2k hours because she focused our teammate who wasn't really good
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
On an unrelated note, did you play against a Nurse on Badham yesterday, playing as Ace?
yup
I remembered you from forum too ;p
1s delay btw

Also, without my swf I wouldn't spend much of my time on DBD, probably. Because solo que is just terrible experience.
I am playing swf and we still escape maybe 40% of the time.
We all have more than 3k hours each, one guy has 10k, I have 9k. But here is the thing, we all work full-time jobs and we just want to have decent, chill experience in a game.
BUT lately I am playing more solo que, because I have maybe 1-2 hours daily for gaming, but that's when my friends are sleeping. I am telling you, it's terrible experience and 40-50% of my games are against blights, nurses and billys. Losing everything because it's too hard if other people can't give decent chases. Also I am being ignored if I give one decent chase or killer checks out my hours.
Also survivior waiting queue when I am playing are like 3-5 minutes. Waiting so much for miserable match doesn't make me happy.
Within last months I literally went from 60 hours weekly gaming to like 20-40
Game is unbearable without friends.
-
I keep seeing that "SWF is a problem" but guys, SWF doesn't mean comp players.
Most of the time swfs just are there for talks and laughs and the best info they can give is "im main" and "im shack".
If I am playing with my 12 y.o nephew who has 60 hours in a game does that mean we are on adventage? Definitely no
All it gives him is terrible experience going against my high MMR in EU.
SWF is not a problem, game trying to be competitive is.

I like how you say “exclude perks.” It’s mostly why distortion was destroyed because killers see survivors’ perks as killer nerfs. However, I do agree that excluding killers would a bad thing. When a new killer comes lots of people wanna play that killer. Like, when the hounds master came out, if people could exclude killer, it would be such a long queue time.
Devs could always prevent blocking new killers for some time.
-
@LockerLurk said:
Because I like randomness and most people playing do too, friend. I don't like Plague but I'm not gonna be a child about it and go next if I get her, I also wouldn't block her.
This would just mean some Killers are never played against, some are, and everyone else gets stuck with sweatier games because you didn't want a Blight in your games. It's not fair to punish anyone for playing a character or perks or items they like with any sort of exclusion system. Map offerings are bad enough. If you like randomness, you would not be forced to use the system.
Unless you mean that you main blight and nurse and you want randomness within surviviors - casual surviviors to stomp, that would've blocked your character, ahh.
-
@UknownShredder said:
I think its a pretty good idea. The people who main like blight, nurse etc are people who do not really want a challenge and seek short term gratifications. People say it sucks and that 80% of the killers would be obliterated but thats only because you choose to play an OP killer. Perhaps its time to try something new, Like demo, ghostface, nemisis etc. it must really suck to always face the same killers from a survivor pov. You guys probably run franklin knockout surge and weave attunement to that as well and slug everyone for minimal effort.
My idea would be great for surviviours actually, with good programming.
For example only 3 killers that party leader banned would be not searched for.
I am playing solo q today and 40% of my matches are blight and nurse. I just lost against nurse with 4 gens left ;p

Wouldn't make game worse for everyone, definitely surviviors would appreciate such mechanic. That's the miserable side which seem not to enjoy and not have enough players lately ;p
Not really, it would be worse even for survivors.
If you use it? Your queue times will increase and they are already not that low during evening hours...
If you don't use it? You will basically get to play only against the most "banned" killers → so Nurse/ Blight.
not have enough players lately
Kinda funny to say when every evening I have to deal with 3+ minutes queue time on survivors.
I can wait for more balanced killer match, I don't mind.
I bet a lot of people would prefer waiting 1 extra minute.
-
@Emeal said:
What if we add "Survivor exclude" system that would allow us to exclude 3 Survivors from our queue?
Be my guest, survivior is just a skin
-
Oh yeah, I tried solo que for past 2 weeks and it's terrible experience that I don't want to be part of.
I don't play without 3 people in my lobby anymore.
I am literally shocked why bhvr doesn't work on solo que experience, that should be really a priority because at that point bot filled lobbys will happen soon.

Nah they need to start actually putting effort into balancing out SWF, which in turn would make overall balancing easy and then you wouldn't have the majority of the playerbase hate playing this game because SWF makes every other gameplay aspect, miserable.
The severs do feel awful though and hitreg is insanely bad in this game.
They fixed it once, killers didn't like that.
So revert happened.
-
Some killers are just overtuned and it's miserable for casual surviviors. I am tired of my friends leaving the game one by one because they can't win games and get tunneled almost every match. EU gaming is miserable on high MMR, you've got to understand it.
Of course I am not gonna be a sweatlord as full-time employee, just trying to chill and play games after work.
If I wanted to try that hard I would be queuing up for scrims with some comp team, and I will never do that. Also, what do you think I can do against blight in solo que? People are literally leaving the game or leave people in 3v1 on 5 gens, because their experience is bad and they don't want to play the match. It happens most of the time.
-
Nope, there still would be people who dont use the mechanic and those who enjoy playing against some killers that other people hate.
You know whats funny? You are saying that it that game would be unplayable for certain killers, and we all know it's about nurse and blight, maybe singularity. because those are the killers you are playing mostly, probably. Ones that literally get free win every time. Ones that surviviors feel miserable to go against. We've had broken killers for so long and you are still protecting them xd
Yeah, I want the mechanic that doesn't make me play against blight with 4 regression perks, tunneling on 5 gens.
Don't want to play against nurse with full aura for perfect blinks through the wall either. That's just so miserable and very common on high MMR i EU. -
@PetTheDoggo said:
What exactly has this to do with "great again", when this was never a thing? nor should be
This would simply make the game worse for everyone.
Just clickbait title. pardon me

Good idea in practice. Horrible execution
3 x 4 = 12 total killers blocked per lobby
Unsure if your aware, but there are 38 killers in game, thats 31% of the roster
…but that would only be 31% if every killer was played evenly, but their not.
youd effectively block 80% of all killers and force them to play other killers which you would inevitably block when survivors got sick of itWouldn't be additivie - maybe block party leader's choices.
-
Hopefully they do something before all surviviors decide to stop playing
-
@JPLongstreet said:

Or they could figure out how to let the other 80% of the playerbase also participate in the PTB's, instead of resorting to bots.
Yeah, give survivior mains reason to participate in PTB.
Killer reworks are not good enough if a lot of people only care about surviviors ;p
-
So why don't we make going against them less miserable? So people would enjoy games more?
There is so many blight and nurse mains because it's too easy to win.
Killer's should not be able to make 1151 winstreaks.
-
Chucky is hard to balance.
I would stomp every match as a chucky, and chucky would stomp my lobby if I was survivior.
Now chucky gets stomped hard. I had a match against chucky at a tombstone house, farm map and all he did was 3 hooks (4k hour chucky)
Also, I didn't touch him since speed change, I refuse to play nerfed version of him.
It was miserable to play against chucky, now it's miserable to play as chucky.
I think slice n dice speech change to 8m/s was too much.

Have you never played a fighting game before?
You knock your opponent down, they now have options, they can block, or they try and counter attack. If you expect their counter attack, you can block their counter attack, and now punish them and knock them down again, resetting the situation, if you don't expect their counter attack, then you likely get knocked down, and the situation is reversed to you.
It creates this back and forth mindgame where, someone does the counter attack 3 times, surely they wouldn't do it a 4th time right? And then they do, and they get a full punish that takes the round back. It creates situations where the game is about conditioning your opponent to do "A", and when they start doing "A", you start punishing them for it.
dbd is not fighting game
the only fighting i've done is hitting wesker's face while he moris me, but I would not count that
-
You learn counterplay with experience, just give it time to adjust.
I am literally telling you, looking down does the work when it comes to chain blinding.
Also, losing 3-5 seconds because of getting blinded here and there doesn't mean you lose the game. You can still move while blinded and use your hearing to follow the survivior - grunts of pain, steps and breathing is still there.
You lose the game becuase of other bad decisions.

TBF if you are skilled killer, you are very likely to still NOT enjoy bully squads even if you are good. There's a high tendency for them to "go next" once they realize, that they are unable to bully you. Those matches are just boring win IMO.
I still manage to enjoy them. It mostly ends with 3-4 man slug tho ;p
-
"It also promotes more skill-based gameplay where each loop is a proper 1v1 mindgame between the survivor and the killer, where the better player winds due to how well the killer can mindgame and trick the survivor, vs the survivor able to respond to the killer and make proper choices based on what the killer has done historically."
No, winning 50/50 is not skill.
-
I get it, you're getting frustrated because someone uses game mechanics that you are not very familiar with, but instead of proposing to nerf those you should be learning how to go against it.
Everything comes with the experience, I can tell you as a 9k hour player. Might be hard at first, but you will get there. Ain't no bully squads scary if you learn to deal with them.
I always hope i get those people, it's easier to win.

This doesn’t fix it, it just mitigates the effect. You still can’t see where the survivor is, you can’t see what’s ahead of you, and you have to rely entirely on your muscle memory to navigate. The only real difference is that you can choose when to end it and you get to look at your toes
It does fix it.
You can still hear the footsteps, grunts of pain, breathing. Use that to your adventage.
If you look up or down and survivior try to chain blind you, he loses distance - good for you.
You literally have few ways to counter that, looking up or down, using lightborn, using franklins demise or overwhelming presence - those two will eat through item's charges quickly.
Also, bullysquads are the easiest to go against, they don't create much pressure, mostly having just one gen jockey.
-
Look down or up for chain blinds, problem solved.
-
@I_Cant_Loop said:
This is what happens with a 3-month cycle to crank out new content. Come hell or high water (or bugs galore), that new content is going to get released and we'll worry about fixing things later.
The best thing for the long term health of the game would be to slow down, take at least one quarter off, and just focus on bug fixes, matchmaking, game balance. No new content, no new skins, nothing except fixing things that are broken. That kind of stuff might not make money immediately but it will certainly help prevent/delay long—time players who do spend $ from leaving the game.
Taking a few months to focus on improving new player experience would be fantastic as well. This would help to bring in more revenue not with new content to sell to existing players but with attracting and retaining players.
Some people are assinged to cosmetics, different people take care of game balance. That's how this probably work.
So cosmetics people still can do their job :)
But I feel like not enough people work on a game balance team.I agree on the money part - more people would be buying skins or even characters if game was more enjoyable, less buggy.
For example I stopped buying skins because of the route that BHVR goes - I bought tiffany skin for chucky and now I will never play it again because I don't enjoy his changes. Feels like I lost money on that.

As long as people buy skins it wil stay this way, i bought skins for a long time to. I stopped paying for skins the moment they told everyone stranger things was leaving and all the skins would be gone forever. My head went full fomo and i bought everything. Only for the skins to come back 2 years later. That moment i realised i never buy skins from any store again. The only thing i do is pay for the rift pass that gives like 15 cosmetic sets/per rift and that 10 bucks refunds everytime you complete the rift. So im playing with those same 10 bucks for 3 years now. :)
Smart. I gave up buying skins recetly too.
Too much FOMO, viceral skins are moneygrab, since they could make additional category for moris and just make them cost separated price.Combined backpacks are still a thing too, which is weird in 2024 for me. There were some skins that I wanted to buy but didn't because of the backpacks.

That is true for both sides.
Once survivors learn to face her, she will not be an issue.
I believe she might be an issue. Dog is fast now
-
Alright, I will keep is as simple and short as I can.
I hate it, but I am gonna point out most of the things i don't like.
CONTENT:
Chapters were mostly fine.
1. Alan Wake chapter was kinda a disappointment, perks are bad. Boon might only be useful for new players, but there is paywal behind it. Champion of light doesn't affect killer at all - it might only be used for pallete stun and saves, when stun takes 5 seconds itself. 1 sec of 20% hindred is not useful at all. Deadline comes with too much of a downside to be consider useful.
2. All Things Wicked - that was mid chapter. Came with great characters and new perk: invocation. Idea is kinda cool, but perks aren't good enough to be used. Gives too much of a downside. Strenght in Shadows and Wicked are both great perks, but too dependent of a basement placement. Unbound and Unforeseen are cool perks. Undone is terrible, especially at high level - no one misses skillchecks.
Map isn't good. Pallets are actually bad there, creating so many 50/50 scenarios. Easy to play around as a killer. Big map tho, that's a fine thing considering pallets.
3. D&D chapter was good. Came with amazing and fairly balanced killers, considering recent changes. Lich's perks are actually good, linguid touch is good for some killers like spirit. Dark arrogance creates nice synergy with other vaulting perks, good overall if you can avoid stuns. Weave is a little bit problematic and creates too good of synergy with franklin demise, very hard to play against as a solo que player.
Bard comes with meme perks, nothing special. Boring cosmetics tho, not worth to main. Purple cosmetics come with backpacks, big NO for me.
Map is terrible tho. Very killer sided. Fillers are bad, loops are bad, mostly dead-zones.
4. Tomb Rider - Mid chapter, great character but with mid perks.
5. Castelvania - Amazing characters, Dracula has mid perks, not really useful, mostly not used.
Trevor came with nice perks. Exultation is great for the collectors, green keys might finally be useful with it. Eyes of belmont is a good perk, creates good synergys. Moment of glory is bad, too much requirements to be useful.
6. Doomed course. Most recent, killer has really good potential after recent changes. Might become problematic even, with how easy it is to use a dog. Petting the dog is cool tho. Perks are good, no quarter is problematic with some killers and synergys, but not used to often.
Survivior is mid without interesting skins, clean break is bad, not used at all. Invocation is terrible. Shoulder is fine, but this should not be a perk.
GAMEPLAY:
Is a bit stale. I am going against same killers all the time as a survivior. Nurse, blight, billy, singularity, twins, spirit, nemesis, used to be chucky - not anymore.
Gameplay in EU servers is extremely sweaty. Includes too much slugging, camping, tunneling. On the other side, surviviors don't make it easy too, making great pressure gen-wise.
Same perks are used over and over again. Meta is extremely sweaty.
Solo que feels mostly bad and it takes only one survivior to lose you a game by suicide on hook or DC.
Playing killer is getting boring most of the time. Too many matches are a slaughter, ending on 4-5 gens.
I hate that there is so many ways to make experience bad for surviviors. Tunneling, slugging, camping.
And the only way to fight that is with the perks. We need to use perks for scenarios listed above.
Too much power given to the killer side.
I don't appreciate that too many killers now have abilities to hit surviviors through the window or pallete.I don't appreciate that small tweaks and changes take so long time.
I hate that gutting killers or perks is the new way to deal with problems for BHVR.Game is not too friendly for new players. Takes too much time to unlock everything, newbies are targetted and there is nothing for them to do, this creates miserable experience for them.
Still too many useless things in bloodweb, especially for surviviors. Offerings need changes.
Missing QoL things like solving characters, filtering or making them favorite. Still need to scroll too much throught all characters.
Bloodweb still needs improvements. My playtime definitely dropped this year.
Right now i have 8900 hours in a game and I can definitely say that I enjoyed previous years more. -
@HamsterEnjoyer said:
I love how now suddenly we're pretending the PTB matters and hasn't just been a way to advertise content. Anyways these changes for Houndmaster aren't even bad nor do they make her super strong. Even with perfection houndmaster would never be S tier these just make good Houndmaster's in B tier instead of D tier at best.
Oh no, I played 4 matches as her yesterday.
She is actually very strong now - i finished 3 of those games on 5 gens with 4 kills. Last was still a win, but with gens popping and 3 kills.
She is actually very strong and as soon as people master her, we will be crying about her power.
-
Not enough people working on patches I feel. Also the chances feel bad and unnecessary too often for me.
I stopped spending my money too.
It's sad because I loved this game with nearly 9k hours of playing
-
I do quite basic build on most of my killers: brutal, pain res, surge and i change the last perk between killers, mostly bamboozle, pop
-
BHVR can't really increase gen speeds. It's boring to do gens, which means people will get bored even more, which means they will play less. What dev would want that?
-
@Prometheus1092 said:
I never used to tunnel until gens popped crazy fast. Since gens pop so quick I have taken to tunneling. So your answer is further increase gen speed when a killer kills someone?
The only way to discourage tunneling is slow gen repair down so killers have time to spread hooks. Some will tunnel regardless but reducing the need of it by allowing killers time would definitely reduce it... I for 1 wouldn't tunnel if I felt I didn't have to
Oh yeah, because killers don't ever finish games on 3-5 already.
-
Bruh, I want to go against those killers too.
I don't remember when i played against wesker, huntress… and those 2 are my favourite
Here is mine top 5:
- Blight
- Nurse
- Nemesis
- Spirit
- Singularity/Hillbilly/Chucky/Twins
I swear, high mmr in EU sucks.
-
@Kl0bürste said:
i could not agree more. Survivors are absolutely busted and every game is pretty much unwinnable without hard tunneling. Beeing good alone is not enough anymore. Survivors need to be nerfed hard.
So you prefer going against bots, right? Because if surviviors get even more nerfed, there will be not much of them left.
I win every killer game with 3 or 4k. As a survivior I escape like maybe 50% of the time.
I will never agree that game is survivior sided. It might only be if you put 4 great surviviors together. Casual lobbies are getting shredded. -

I am completely fine with 100 prestige to be hard to get, that doesn't affect player's gameplay in any way.
But current way of unlucking perks is just terrible. It costs both money and time, this is one of very few games, where this is true.
I get you don't want to be overwhlemed with too many BPs, which would waste time, but there are other fixes for this issue.
Current way of unlocking perks is highly not noob friendly, which I see as an issue. Right now, I wouldn't recommend DBD to any new player, if I lost my account, then I wouldn't start again.Exactly! I can't get any of my real-life gamer friends to play dbd with me, most tried and refused to play after period of time, some don't even want to try.
That's too much for new players.
-
You can't justify Thrill's buff if killers like singularity, blight, billy, trapper with bloody coil, demo with whistle, pinhead with long range chains or killers with teleporting ability.
Too many broken tactics to protect the totems, on top of 47 sec of cleansing time.
Did you guys ever went against singularity with his cameras? blight or billy with their free mobility? It's miserable to go against those with for example blood favor, crowd control, thrill and undying. It makes games too miserable for surviviors.
-
Flashbangs are rare and limited. You need to finish 40% of a gen.
Flashbangs are not so easy on their own, you definitely need some skill to use them. Good positioning, good timing - you need to drop flashbang really fast after pick up.
Also, not much flashbangs users are there. It happens on rare occasions.
-
Oh damn, you hate people man. People don't want to grind hundred or thousand of hours.
