So were all the other events, why mention just the blight? Each other event the players could team up and help each other.AlwaysInAGoodShape said:I think it was a mistake to make it versus each other player as events for myself always brought the community together
The blight is the opposite of players versus each other. Killers, survivors, they were all a team in gaining points for the event. That goes for everything where the killer and survivor can earn points together.
-
Nope my leatherface will see your plundered item, smack it right out of your hand and laugh as I find you in the same spot trying to find it while I down you again.
-
Then you are arguing semantics, obviously I am not speaking about the act of being able to simply leave a lobby, anyone with half a brain could work that one out.Nikkiwhat said:*woosh*
You're too wrapped up in this buddy :]
You literally, LITERALLY said their right to lobby dodge was taken away, as a counterpoint to mine.
"Well the devs obviously think it's not your right hence they removed that option from survivors."
No ######### they took out the ability to see Killer's profile, where ever did I refute or debate that? May want to clear thru that Bubba Brain a bit honey. I said it's anyone's right to stay or leave a lobby, you refuted that eith misconstruing the points made with an example that had nothing to do with what I've been presenting here. Points for trying I suppose
Read my first post you replied too again where i outline why survivors had seeing killers removed (the reason for dodging) as you are obviously taking things way out of context by seeing things too literally, you don't have to be specific when it's relevant to the actual points of the discussion as no one has mentioned removing the ACTUAL leave lobby button.

Talk about missing a point sigh.......Nikkiwhat said:

Of course they can, it's not about be able too that should stay for legit reason like real life for example.
They removed the option to see killers profiles so they could not cherry pick lobbies and dodge players anymore for how or who they played, do you get it now? Is that clearer for you?
I guess you think they should make that option available to them again since you think cherry picking who you play versus is ok? -
Well the devs obviously think it's not your right and it's why they removed that option from survivors, don't be upset when they do the same to killers, you reap what you sow just like those survivors did.Nikkiwhat said:I don't care if a Killer dodges me, I move on from it. MandyTalk is politely trying to say this community is highly toxic, they complain about anything the other side does, have been known to with death upon players, post in people's profiles, add them as friends to continue being toxic in a pm.theanimal41 said:And the opposite team can in turn give them a thumbs down. And how many time have you used the rank this match at the top of the screen bet you don't use it often. Majority of people just go leave the lobby and go to next game. But yes you would have those trolls and toxic people that would abuse the system but I'm pretty sure the devs could find a way to polish it and make it work properly.
The community would abuse this feature and a swf can gang up on one person, a killer who camps can get 4 reports instantly for doing it to one, they may not do anything and just win and it could happen.
It really isn't a good idea to let this community decide who gets put into a lobby such as your suggestion, infact I would say it would be disastrous to let them. -
Before dcing was a huge thing survivors could see killer profiles in the lobby, the devs removed that option as people complained survivors dodged for them playing certain killers or camping etc, they turned to MLGA, the devs removed that from the whitelist as people complained, dcing became worse the devs implemented a ban system which needs to be stricter imo as it does need stamping out.
Some killer mains are arguing that it is ok for them to dodge lobbies if its not going to be a fun game, the reality is it is not and something needs done about it.
Cherry picking any game should be stopped on both sides, the game is what it is, don't act like you should have the right to do something on one side if you don't think its fun yet complain about the other for doing exactly the same, that is highly hypocritical.
-
Never assume something just because someone doesn't agree with you.AlwaysInAGoodShape said:Ah, you prefer the gamethrowing from the Blight Event. Hhhhh
Nowhere did I mention the blight, maybe read what I wrote again. -
I don't agree, I completed every other event in the first week easily while with this one I m struggling to keep playing, I only want the feng costume and I almost have it so that's almost three coins only.
I think it was a mistake to make it versus each other player as events for myself always brought the community together and stopped alot of the usual toxicity while this one promotes it. -
Apex is not asymmetrical, most BR games have a limit on how many play together and it's 3 due to the 60 player limit with Apex so thats 20 teams, the other BR's at 100 players allow 4 in a team.SIlentCetra said:I mean there ARE games that limit the number of players that can play together. The recent game APEX comes to mind, where there are teams of 3.
It wouldn't be unheard of, and it is still letting friends play together. AND, if there are enough of them wanting to play, they can still KILL with friends too.
You can't compare what those games to DBD only another asymmetrical game. -
Yes, I don't dodge lobbies unless it's ping related.
If people keep dodging for every little thing they dislike a change will happen, they already did that to survivors who used to dodge players who played certain killers and camped by removing profiles from the lobby after the complaints.
What killers who dodge are doing is no different from the above. -
They won't do that, any game which is mtiplayer such as this allows friends to play together to make up the whole set, it doesn't make sense to limit a group of friends from playing together from a business standpoint.
They have been actively trying to buff solo player up to the standard for over a year and it hasn't been working, the problem will always be nothing will ever close the gap for the advantage comms can give.
The devs seem reluctant to look at fixing the actual issue and are trying to change everything around it instead, the other problem is for those that don't play with comms in an swf (or those that claim not too) it's not an easy fix. -
They only thing that matters is to do gens nothing else.
The problem wirh camping isn't about the killer doing the job they are meant to it is about how the devs made emblems, even thiugh camping is a legit strat it doesn't go hand in hand with how they have setup the game. -
Why do you want others to play the way you deem they should is the question?
Some like being immersed and enjoy it, some like to get chased, some want to save while others don't like taking the risk, it's all part of the game.
-
Why is a mori BM? Its an in game item, DS is also fair game as it's an in game perk.
The problem isn't them being disrespectful it's the players wanting the other side to play by made up rules they deem acceptable. -
Welcome to DBD where how you play in game using the tools provided are toxic to the side your playing versus.
You have had just a small glimpse into the end game chat and believe me it will get much worse.
A lot of the players have an us v them mentality and constantly argue over every little aspect of the game if it does not benefit them.
Rise above it, don't engage, say your ggwp if you wish and leave, thus is a highly toxic community don't get dragged into it or you may become one of them.
Killers camp, survivors loop, both use perks the others dislike and they all hate to lose and talk ######### in the end game chat, it's best to accept the game however someone decides to play if its within the rules.
Read up on the rules and regarding the chat report overly toxic people who say death threats or racist remarks but that's about it. -
How did they lose the game if they are still alive?Blueberry said:@SIlentCetra said:

If 2 gens are done and 3 survivors are dead, hatch is open for the last survivor. It's kinda unfair because if the killer killed others while only 2 gens got done, he deserves the 4th kill.
He doesn't "deserve" any kill. And again, the survivor still has to find the hatch in the first place. If there's only one survivor left (this happened to me when I played as survivor yesterday), you could sit and patrol the hatch yourself.
He killed 3 people before finishing the gens, that was earned, you lost the game.
Also "you could sit and patrol the hatch yourself. " Is just complete nonsense. Yeah let's sit there and then start a hatch standoff for a few hours. That isn't a counter.
Yes the killer earned those three kills but they have not yet earned the death of the last one, if anyone chooses to sit there for a silly amount of time in a standoff then that is on them, it's a choice someone makes not something that anyone has to do.
Would you rather look for an immersed survivor for a silly amount of time as that's what happened on the ptb with the closing mechanic.
-
The hatch is a way to end the game quicker in that scenario as a survivor can just stealth around prolonging the game as seen with the ptb change on closing the hatch.
A standoff can only happen with two stubborn players, either jump in or hit them, staying there for a stupid amount of time for such little BP is on those who chose to do it not the mechanic.
-
Yeah you can't derank past 15 apart from on reset which happens the 13th of each month, even then they must be rank 15 to get below that.
Most derankers don't go that low from what I have seen, they stay in ranks 12 to 7 just avoiding the red ranks.
It does seem you may be against those who have taken a break from the game and are back playing in the event or even survivor mains doing killer dailies and not intentional derankers. -
They did make it harder when the emblems were introduced, killers couldn't get games after that in the red ranks, they need both sets of players to rank up about the same speed so they made it easier again.
It's alot harder to get both sides to naturally rank up based on how well they play and keep them being able to find games with lots of different players so making it about time played seems to be the way they thought was best. -
SWF scenario needs to be fixed, people saying deranking is bad will think the same way, they should join using the highest ranking player.
Two wrongs don't make a right, all deranking and abusing of the system is wrong. -
Legion is getting a rework but it could be a ways off according to a fog whisperer, Freddy is fun to play but again not so much against for some, he can't stop unhooking so once the gates are powered with competent survivors it's basically game over.jackkn12 said:Ok I have to kinda agree with you switch on that one. But is he going to get a rework soon? And is he's perks any goods even if I don't play as him? Also is fredd worth it since he's getting a rework soon?
Both killers suffer from survivors Dcing as they dont like plsying verses them making games not as fun overall. -
LF for sure for BBQ is a nice perk for BP and he is fun to play.
Freddy is fun to play also but not so much to play against for some, you will get those who will DC making games less fun overall. -
Read the link I sent you it should take roughly 96 hours to get almost 26k shards what's a char every 34 hours or so far off the 200 you claim.SIlentCetra said:As I said, I didn't realize there was a shrine where you can POTENTIALLY get those perks. Still, apparently it is complete RNG and you may never see one of them at all.
I don't mind a grind, I play ATLAS FFS. What I don't like is over 200 hours of grind for one character.
It's always better to read up on things before making assumptions.
-
https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Player_LevelSIlentCetra said:I don't either. I'll give you an example on what I am okay with: For Honor.
I love and hate this game. But one thing I feel they do RIGHT is their microtransactions. If you aren't familiar with the game, you unlock other characters with steel, and they usually cost around 15k steel. You get steel not just on leveling up, but through completing daily objectives, as well as a little bit every match depending on how well you do.
It is perfectly possible to be able to unlock a new hero with about a week of gameplay, provided you save your steel to unlock the DLC characters and not on cosmetics. I am okay with this. You still have to work to get what you want, but it's not like you have to play the game for months on end before getting enough to unlock X character.
So far, the only time I've seen shards is leveling up. I have about 380 and you start with 40. So in 2 days of playing several hours (time I won't have once my leave is over) I have made 340 in about 10 hours give or take.
It costs 9,000 shards to unlock one character. So if it takes 10 hours to get roughly 340 points, to get 9,000 would take an astonishing 26 10 hour sessions or 260 hours of gameplay. To unlock ONE character.
That is a ridiculous, almost freemium MMO level of grind. It's too much imo.
Check the above for information on how you earn shards, you get bonuses towards yoir level for how well you do in around not to mention the 300xp toward a it for the first game of a new day bonus.
This game is a grinding game, just look at all the characters you can use and how long it takes to lvl each one up to get all the available perks or even just the ones you want.
Those who wish to keep playing are rewarded with free characters, it seems your issue has changed from p2w and not understanding you could earn things to now it takes too long, well that's the game, you can earn a few chars on the grind to lvl 100 or spend it on cosmetics the choice is yours.
If you don't like grinding games maybe this one isn't for you but they aren't going to hand everything out for free instantly as it's a business afterall and nothing is ever needed they are all optimal extras.
For honor only changed as the game was losing players and they had a boycott and some still complain it's not enough, you can also buy steel pretty much like the dlc in this game, you will never kerp everyone happy but it has been an age since I saw a post like this so the vast majority are happy. -
Remember this is not a full price game where it costs $60 and then pay for a season pass which only gives you some of the dlc, nothing is a must for this game, with perks it comes down to a want rather than a need.SIlentCetra said:A paywall is a paywall. Doesn't matter if it's 5 dollars or 30 dollars.
Only the licensed characters cost money as the others can all be bought via shards.
So take the killers the shape (bad perks), The pig (Make your choice is good on some killers) Freddy (blood warden is ok) leatherface (best perks BBQ and Franklins) BBQ being the most used as it's a blood point farming perk, none of the above are essential.
Survivors again apart from DS but that is one the has been on the shrine every couple of months nothing is considered meta from licensed dlc, DS is also being reworked (eventually) as it's an annoying perk and gets you camped a lot.
The point is the perks most used to help in game can all be obtained for free by playing and with the shrine everything eventually can be it's just a waiting game.
-
None of the perks on licensed characters are essential, some are really nice but not essential, BBQ is possibly the one most will mention but in reality it just lessens the grind nothing more as it has easy counters to its aura reading.
-
There hasn't been one for a good while, I dont see anything in the future happening either as nothing regarding cosmetics like these have been mentioned after the introduction of the shop..
-
For one most of the survivors don't do gens and reward it.
Secondly for the salt that people post in the end game and when they make posts on the forum belittling it, kinda like this one.
Personally i think its a boring tactic but each to there own, however they like to play within the rules is fair game. -
I never said your team was competent i simply stated a competent team could, most killers don't know who is and who isn't competent they sometimes want the one they think can cause them to lose the game out of it quickly if possible.Poweas said:@twistedmonkey said:
The 3 minute chase to start with is the most obvious reason, if you could do that again that should be other 3 gens done for competent survivors so getting you out the game quick gives more time for the easier prey.No. She claimed she wasn't tunnelling me. And my team were trash. They were NOT competent. 1 gen in that 1st chase is stupid and rank 20 like. And they got downed to her in seconds. Trust me you're completely off.
They obviously wanted you out the game so unless they remembered you from another game how you played compared to the others in this one seems the most logical reason don't you think?
-

-
The streamer if recording will show the devs you did the gens and got out, you did not hold the game hostage you were cautious as to not give them a opportunity to kill you nothing more.
Ignore it they are just upset you outplayed them. -
For an anti tunnel idea you have to make it worthwhile for the killer to not down the one being unhooked, time is one of the most relevant factors for tunnelling.
Maybe by means of removing 15% of gen progression on each gen over 50% and 25% for each gen over 75% for hitting the unhooker, you also have to be at least 20m from the hook when they save for it to activate.
-
It's understandable but i always think what about the other four people? Its not their fault a crappy map came up and while I may not have as much fun I'll still learn more each time on what i could do better and earn some bloodpoints.HavelmomDaS1 said:Yeah I agree with you, it's just like... Why should I suffer the entire match if I could just hit esc+leave match and search a new one and enjoy it? You get what I mean? If devs would actively adjust maps so you can use M2 ability properly with every killer, I would take the suffer till the patches come live. But as far as I know they don't plan adjusting the maps. And it's even worse of you get a certain map you absolutly dislike several times in a row.
Each to there own I just don't want it to happen to myself so I don't put it onto others. -
It's all part of the game, it's not fun to be flashlighted at every pallet, camped, gen rushed, tunnelled, ds'd, dribbled, Insta heal, moried but if everyone had the right to dodge for every little thing they disliked there would be no matches left to play.HavelmomDaS1 said:
Well, it's a valid point. But keep in mind that we "cherrypicked" the game called DbD to have fun, so obviously people play to have fun and not... To suffer unfun matches.twistedmonkey said:Nope the only reason to dodge is a really bad ping, anything else is cherry picking a match and not giving the devs the stats they need to see if they nees to rework certain things.
I mean, why playing billy if you get a map like Lery's where you can't really use your M2 ability? Or huntress on Rottenfields where you are slow af and can't see ######### in the corn? Not really a fun experience or is it.
If it's part of the game it's fair to use is my opinion it may not always be balanced and always fun but it is what it is.
Change can't happen if we don't play and show them how it is. -

Is it really so hard to believe that when killer earned less more started playing survivor causing long survivor queues as they stated and now they adjusted the points due to that fact some moved to killer and now queue times are longer for you playing killer the day after it happened?
The backend change happened almost a week ago and the queues for survivor were long due to more players in the survivor queue, thats a lot more coincidental and more logical than an assumption that they changed something in the backend a week later and didn't tell us imo.

They did this as they stated more were playing survivor so it makes sense now that some maybe more than expected have moved to killer. -
Yes but the percentage of dc's per game played seems very high.
It's an automatic process and both sides get punished for dcing, it's done in waves which you will see now and again when the forums suddenly have all these "why was I banned for no reason" posts -
These change my mind posts make no sense.
Do people nowadays really need some sort of validation on their personal opinion? Can't they think for themselves anymore? -
They increased killer points by a fairly small amount but it meant I average 30 points per killer game and around 20 with survivor.
After the last event they still fail to realise people will play the side which it's easier to achieve the points on so naturally the queues will become longer.
-
Unless you want the clothes it's not worth it, the extra percentage in rarity is not noticeable and extremely small.
It's basically a way to give those with hundred/thousands of hours something to keep grinding for. -
I will do a gen far away to spawn the hatch if there is enough time and look for it, keeping an eye out to see if i can get a sneaky save but there is no point in both of you dying and giving that killer what they want out of it.
Playing smart isn't bad it's common sense to not try and save where both of you will end up sacrificed. -
As peanits said, it didn't fix the standoff issue it just moved it to another scenario.
Ignore those usual killer mains who think it's always due to the devs not wanting to upset survivors they are just heavily biased and wanted it flipped 180 so killers had the upper hand.
The devs want the hatch to be something which stops it being more one sided so both have an equal chance of the kill/escape. -
Short matches or with 5 gens still to go don't really represent any skill, it usually comes down to survivors not doing gens and hook rushing.
The devs want longer, fun and engaging matches hence you get more points and pips, as someone already stated why reward one playstyle which goes against the devs ethos and also would probably make for more less fun tactics?
Killers already generally get more points than survivors, this would cause a bigger inbalance, the other aspect is you have to reward both sides for faster games so survivors should in theory be rewarded more for gen rushing and getting out making the game less fun overall.
What they could do to lessen the grind is reward killers more for each new survivor being hooked and also survivor more for all there objectives evenly like gens, saving, healing, totems making them want to do all four and not just rush the gens.
