I'm pretty terrible with this Killer, so scampering under pallets was the main way I used his power to be honest (alongside his stealth of course). Even so, I still faced a Survivor 4E pretty frequently with Chucky even before this nerf, so this isn't a great change for me.
I better get gud, I guess. Or more likely, I'll just play my other Killers and only dig Chucky out for the odd daily ritual.
-
I don't think Vecna will be for me. I don't have much interest in D&D and his power seems pretty complicated to use. I would be interested in getting his vault perk for my Legion, but the downsides don't outweigh the upsides in my opinion so I'll probably just wait till it turns up in the shrine. The new map looks pretty cool from what I've seen of it, though.
But I will probably buy the new Survivors, because their perks look decent. I'll be playing that stupid lute at every opportunity I get for at least a week.

Another point that hasn't been raised is whether there are enough players from different mmr ranges queuing.
The backfilling is speculated to happen when someone of similar MMR dodges the lobby. What about cases where there aren't enough players of similar level playing in the region in the first place? Wouldn't the queue system be forced to grab someone from a higher or lower mmr range to compensate?
There is a possibility that even if lobbies are locked to prevent lobby dodging, there will still be cases of mismatched opponents. I don't think all the "backfilled" situations are purely due to people lobby dodging but probably a combination of dodging and not enough players on both sides for each mmr range.
I say this because last year, I got matched up against a 8k hour Survivor who was streaming. I went back into their vod to check if there was anyone who dodged the lobby prior to me and there wasn't. I had 800 hours at that point in time so I think it would be reasonable to assume that this Survivor would be in a different MMR range from me.
So if there was no backfiling, how did I get matched with this 8k hour player? The most likely conclusion was that there was no one else of a similar mmr range queuing so the game just gave up and chucked me into the lobby.
The lobby locking/hiding player information suggestion probably won't resolve the issue of people from different mmr being matched together, in fact it will become more obvious when it happens.
This is one of my main issues with the MMR system. When I get instantly matched with a lobby, it's incredibly obvious that my match making rank has been completely disregarded in favour of finding a match for players that may have been waiting a while.
Personally, I'd like to be able to turn off this quick match making just like we can turn off cross platform. Turning it off might result in a very long wait for a match (or it may not find one at all), but I'd rather not play too many one sided games if there's nobody around my level currently playing. It's a recipe for a terrible time. The majority of the community might be in favour of faster match making, but the choice to opt out would be good.
I think it would help soften the blow when mismatches happen if we knew our own MMR scores too (and also allow players to gauge if the game currently has enough players on to make fair match ups). Letting players know their rank could lead to sweatier games, but I feel like that ship has kinda sailed already.
I wouldn't be surprised to find that mismatches are a big reason for players DCing or making an early exit from trials, so anything that could be done to reduce that would be good for the game.
-
No way. Simply because I also play Survivor and I can't bear the thought of having to do a 120 second gen! Unless BHVR somehow reworked gen repair into a fun 2 minute mini game or something, I can't see anyone going for that.
It's a little frustrating to have a game end before you can do anything to turn it around. But I don't mind trials when Survivors rush the gens so much as the ones when they came to bully. At least those games are over quickly.
-
I did switch from Surge to Pop for a little while after the regression limit was put in place. But I missed the little dopamine hit of blowing up multiple gens at the same time with Surge, so I'm back using that as my sole regression perk on basic attack Killers again.
It would have been fine staying at 30% if it wasn't being used in such a strong combo with Pain-Res and it needed nerfing because of that. But I don't expect to see it less often. It'll still be one of the strongest regression perks in the game.

Your comment gives it away honestly. Unsafe pallets are meant for you to go down on so a teammate can get the save. But hey I would gladly get rid of all unsafe pallets so I can just get the down and hook for free.
Must be nice to have teammates that can do well timed pallet saves. Low MMR Solo Q is everyone looking out for themselves or if you're "lucky", Survivors taking hits and trying to sabo for no sensible reason and then instantly going down (points for effort I guess, but please don't be this guy).
DBD is not really a team game for Survivor players outside of high MMR or a SWFs, so I don't think maps should be balanced as if it's this way for everybody.
-
I believe it's server packet loss, but I don't think it necessarily has something to do with your own connection and could be a server side issue. Not sure about that, though.
I wish there was a guide for all the various connection icons because there are a few different ones and it's not clear what they all mean. Despite being on the same home wifi network, my Switch always has higher ping and more frequent connection issues than my PC (around 20 ms) for reasons unknown to me.
-
Can we acknowledge that DBD is quite often not much fun for a myriad of commonly complained about reasons? Many that BHVR endorse as perfectly acceptable game play mechanics. That's fine I guess, it's their game after all and the players that enjoy engaging in these play styles are their customers just as much as those of us who find them to ruin our experiences.
I think the giving up problem could be lessened by reducing the DC penalties significantly or capping them at 15 minutes max (or perhaps even removing them altogether for the supposedly casual modifier modes). You really don't need to DC all that often to start racking up a significant matchmaking ban, hence why you get so many players giving up on hook at the earliest opportunity. I know many of my games would be improved if these frustrated players were allowed to go next and could at least give us a bot to play with.
-
I haven't been playing for long compared to some, but I think unsafe pallets may as well not be on the map. Unless you have good ping and can time a stun, it's as good as having no pallet there. Don't even know why they bother spawning.
I personally think they are balancing the maps around higher MMR Survivors, ignoring the fact that chases already don't last very long at low MMR.
-
I got the same bug on PC too. Vittorio DC'd the instant the match started and the bot played normally up until this point.
-
Necessity mostly. I would play with friends but I have none that enjoy horror or horror games.
Recently I've begun to understand why some never play Solo Q. Survivor is often not much fun and some days the bad times outweigh the good, so you kind of need some friends to chat with when the games are going badly. Mostly I'm just a bit fed up with losing so often because of circumstances out of my control.
-
RPD is a death sentence for Survivors if you don't get one of the main hall gens done quickly. But I like this Map as Legion so long as I've brought the right build for it. I've also been sent to it so often now that I know the layouts and gen spawns of both versions quite well.
The same goes for the game, though it's definitely more Survivor sided overall. I think it's a good map for Legion but most other Killers struggle on it.
I find Lery's to be a Labyrinthine nightmare for both sides. I can never find the gens as Survivor and it's too big in my opinion for low mobility Killers, with lots of pallets and windows to contend with.
Midwich is just as difficult to navigate despite being smaller, with only two stairways up to the second floor unless the Killer opens up the secret routes. Every room looks the same and I never know where I am unless I'm in the court yard. Great for Scratched Mirror Myers games and lots of love and detail clearly went into creating it, so it has those saving graces. But I don't enjoy it at all.
I appreciate the vibe and accuracy of Hawkins, but this is easily one of my least favourite maps in the game. On top of all the usual indoor map problems, it has giant rooms that seem to have only one way in or out and I keep wasting time being lost in them. Maybe I still need to learn it I dunno, but it's my worst map for sure.
Indoor maps are good for Stealth Killers. Since they don't tend to be so effective on open maps, at least they have that going for them.
-
I don't think it's possible to loop all that well on the Switch. i don't think the frame rate is stable or smooth enough to judge your distance from the Killer most of the time. That said, I'm a poor looper on PC too, so maybe this has nothing to do with the Switch and more to do with my lack of skill.
In either case, I think playing safer is usually a better choice. Pre-run from gens and pre-drop pallets if you feel you have to. Since you get Kate for free with the Switch, unlock Windows of Opportunity at the earliest opportunity so you always know where the safest parts of the map to run to are. I like to use Meg's Sprint Burst in my main build (just this perk alone can be enough to discourage a lot of Killers from chasing you).
Ace is the stealthiest free Switch Survivor and has a perk called Open-Handed that I think is kinda slept on. You can use it to extend the aura reading of bond and Kindred. Pair it with Feng's Alert or the general perk Dark Sense and you'll pretty much see everything that's happening most of the time. Of course, if the Killer brings something to cause blindness like Hex: Third Seal, you'll have zero perks (but that's pretty uncommon). Your teammates might hate you for not taking aggro, but it's a fun and surprisingly effective build to try if you like to sneak around and evade the Killer.

Not trying to burst your bubble but I think the devs stated that all general perks were once teachables from survivors (or I guess killers) that are now in the void. So I think it’s not supposed to be Meg. Also possibly the same survivor for ‚This is not happening‘
I can see the resemblance to Meg though, especially in the expression on the Resilience icon
I like the idea that general perks belonged to Killers and Survivors that got tossed into the void by the Entity.

I think this is more of a case of all characters having 5 teachables before the game went open beta. You can see a fair few traces of that in the general perks, ie., Meg with Resilience and This is Not Happening and Wraith with Unrelenting. Some more out-there guesses would be Iron Grasp for Trapper, Sloppy for Billy, etc.
I think there's even a few that would've been part of later characters' sets, like Whispers & Bitter Murmur for Nurse and Spine Chill for Nea. Hag, who was first conceived as the 2nd killer (thus replacing Wraith) could maybe have had Thrill of the Hunt and NOED? Ace could've had Plunderer's, and maybe og Slippery Meat, since those are both luck-related.
Lorewise, you might be right though.
This makes a lot of sense. This Is Not Happening and Resilience compliment Adrenaline really well and it's easy to see how they might have all been teachables for the same character at some point. Also, Meg's Adept icon uses the same art as Resilience (but with different hair), so that's some more evidence to back up the theory.

This was close to what I saw last night when I was playing in the mode. In the 10 matches I did, I got a total of 2 kills. A lot of the matches were done really fast even when I was playing hit and run and leaving chases to look at gens. I have over 1400hrs in the game and if you looked at my matches last night you would thought I had 100hr. Honestly, I still don't understand and get the hype around the random perk mode. Almost even the perk I got as killer was completely useless 90% of the time. If anything this mode has shown me that the only good perks killer has are info and slowdown. The rest are trash imo.
With my Legion, I've been running the Fuming Mix tape and Susie's Mix tape add-ons for some guaranteed Slow down and information. You could give those add-on a try if you haven't already yet. But even with those equipped, I've found it's still an up hill battle to win in this mode with Legion.
I've also discovered a new found appreciation for Stolen Sketch Book and I'll put that on instead of Susie's if I see a lobby full of beamers.
The only Killer I've done well with is Billy, but I suspect that's mostly because he's strong enough to win a lot of trials with no perks equipped at all.
-
Mine is Resilience because you need a lot of it to be playing Solo Q some days! (and I like the perk too).
Also, I think the girl on the icon is supposed to be Meg and she's my main Survivor.
-
It's a painful learning experience for sure. The tutorial barely teaches you even the basic fundamentals of the game. Even less so than when I started just a year ago, since they've added new features like the anti face camp and anti 3 gen. I don't think new players should be subjected to a tediously exhaustive tutorial before they're allowed to play, but it could certainly use some improvements. I do think there is fun to be had in learning and experimenting as you play, however.
I think the reason why I stuck around long enough to improve a little is because I enjoyed being stalked by spooky monsters in the fog or chasing Survivors around as my favourite horror movie icons. I think there has to be some other motivation for playing this game when you first start because the learning curve is brutal and its asymmetrical nature makes it unlike most other video games.
Please BHVR, do a better job of teaching new players about the endurance and deep wound mechanic at the very least. I don't want any more unfortunate newbies collapsing into the dying state when they're matched with my Legion or Deathslinger.
-
I've had some rough Killer games on Chaos Shuffle, too. Barely won any trials and the one that I did, they were uncoordinated Solo Q Survivors that had 3 genned and / or I also got lucky with a regression perk (Call of Brine). As an average Killer, I can't seem to get downs and hooks quickly enough to generate the pressure needed to get Survivors off the gens. A good Billy / Blight / Nurse probably isn't struggling so much, but Killers with limited mobility are at a definite disadvantage in this mode.
I know I'm not the only one, because it's been a similar story in my Survivor games with some Killers clearly struggling quite a bit. Maybe a case could be made to up the base regression from kicking a gen a little? No more gen tapping has helped in a 3 gen situation against Solo Q, but 5% doesn't do a lot on its own.
-
This is why I always run Lightborn.
Yeah, you can still move but that doesn't mean much if you can't see where you're going. Not everyone plays this game wearing headphones.
Maybe OP and I are in the minority here, but I do not enjoy being chain blinded and I wouldn't be surprised if it put a lot of potential players off from touching the Killer role.
-
Scratched Mirror Myers wins the title for me.
Or as I learned the other day in Chaos Shuffle, an undetectable Billy coming at you at mach 3 from seemingly out of nowhere.
-
Nic Cage is a bit of an odd addition, but he's been in enough Horror films to still fit in well (he's a big fan of horror too). DnD isn't my cup of tea even if I've played through some of the video games and have the Starter Set somewhere, but it does open the door to more fantasy horror in future. Obviously we already know we're getting Dracula with the Castlevania chapter and folklore monsters already exist in the game as skins, but I think there is still plenty of cool fantasy stuff they could add that would be a good fit for DBD. I think BHVR are being careful that what they add to the game thematically fits.
I don't think we're in any danger of seeing Billie Eilish or the Ninja Turtles come to the fog any time soon.
-
If I see someone doing this and I'm on my way to unhook, I just turn around and run in the opposite direction. Sure you can unhook for points, but the Killer could be proxying or still in the area and it's just not worth it.
When I have games like this I start playing safer and trying to stay alive for a hatch escape.

I do wish the consultants had told them to dump the Finisher Mori though 🫣
We can only hope that some of the consultants have pushed back on the idea. This is the first change for the game since I started playing last year that I can't get behind at all. Unless BHVR have feedback from the wider player base that shows most players hate them or something, it seems like an unwelcome out of the blue change to me.
I think it's good that a program like this exists, though. I just hope they have a broad range of voices from all skill levels and they're not only gathering input from streamers and content creators. They tend to be very skilled players and quite often don't see the game in the same way that the rest of us do. They can have totally different play styles to a large portion of the player base (for example, totally abandoning stealth which is still a very viable strategy for a lot of players).
-
It's very simple, if a Killer wants to waste my time by slugging for the 4K, I'll be more than happy to waste theirs. There's also a slim chance to wriggle off and hope for a hatch escape. They usually go off to look for it when it spawns to slam it shut anyway.
I hate it when Killers slug for a 4K. I consider it disrespectful.
-
Yep, some players are sweating in the silly casual game mode and it's a bit sad.
While I've appreciated the handful of Killers out there that have let me get some no Mither value and pick myself up, most have taken advantage of my bad luck and returned to the hook to tunnel me out of the game. So there's bad luck plus all the usual meta strats to contend with (A and S tier Killers, proxying hooks, excessive slugging etc). A very fun experience.
-
For Legion, I would say Scratched Ruler (for getting you power back in 15 seconds rather than 20) and Julie's Mixtape (refills your power gauge after a stun while in frenzy) would be a good learning combo.
If you also pair Julie's with Enduring, you can quickly recover from the stun and vault after them to continue the chase (Julie's + Enduring is almost always in my builds). The point being to bait your target into pallet stunning you when you're about to lose your power. Lots of Survivors won't be able to resist the temptation, but don't expect this to work against smarter and more confident loopers who know how to greed pallets at loops.
Anyway, these two add-ons should give you the most opportunities to use you power in a trial without affecting their base mechanics at all (like some of their better add-ons do e.g. Mischief List, Mural Sketch and Friendship Bracelet).

People DCing instantly because they don't like their build is the antithesis of chaos shuffle and that's exactly what having no DC penalty would make that the norm
I don't think that's the only reason why players DC in this mode. Yes, a high chance of getting a terrible build is definitely a reason, but so is bad matchmaking and all the usual miserable frustrations like proxy camping, slugging, tunnelling and the inability to co-ordinate as a team to combat it (or as Killer, endless flashy blinds and gens that pop too quickly). I find many of my trials are over in just a couple of minutes or just not fun enough to be worth persevering with.
I'm happy for all the players that are getting even match ups and fun opponents in this mode, but that's not been my overall experience. All I seem to be going up against are opponents that are trying their absolute hardest or just way above my skill level. DBD has iffy matchmaking at the best of times and splitting the queues has made it much, much worse (at least for me). Maybe this mode just isn't for me, but I'm having a bad time more often than a fun one and it hardly feels worth queuing up for anymore.
More broadly, I just don't see the point of putting bots in the game if you rarely get to play with them because of the DC penalty. We know unhappy players that have already reached a high DC penalty will AFK or sacrifice themselves at the first opportunity they get. They may not be great, but at least the bots will always contribute. And once again, Chaos Shuffle is not ranked! It does not matter who wins or loses. All that matters is that everyone is having fun. And if a player isn't having fun, they should be able to leave. There's no good reason to keep players in a trial if they don't want to be there.
-
I think there's an argument for making the DC penalty less severe now that bots are in the game. You can AFK / exit the game on the first hook for 10 games in a row yet face no penalty, or you can DC just once a day for 3 days in a row and still be punished with a fairly hefty 15 minute ban. Who honestly thinks this is reasonable?
It's even sillier to have the DC penalty in place for modifiers like Chaos Shuffle, since it's a completely consequence free game mode. It's meant to be played for fun. It doesn't increase or decrease your MMR score and nothing is at stake, so why should it matter if a player is having a bad time and wants to leave the game?
And if players don't want to continue with a bot, perhaps there could be a system in place to vote to end the game early with no consequences for the rest of the players.
-
This mode is a real mixed bag for me. When it's fun it's really fun, but I'm also finding it to be the worst possible experience of playing the game (for both sides). Played 3 miserable games today and I'm already calling it a day. Nothing but the sweatiest Killers playing to win with no reasonable match-making happening at all.
-
I'd say Pyramid Head would be up there. He obviously has his strengths, but I'm finding it so difficult to get consistent value out of his power and I can't help but feel he's not that strong for the average player. His power has no map traversal or built in slowdown. Though it can hit through walls, it's still fairly short range. His strength seems to rely mostly on playing especially ruthlessly and I'm just not willing to play that way. Also his add-ons are mostly bad.
If he's A tier or above, he's far below every other high tier Killer. Personally, I'd put him in right in the middle of the B tier.

Im on ps5, UK server with best internet possible to have and still its taking me insane amount of time finding a game (10-60 minutes and thats because i give up searching). People are leaving Texas chainsaw massacre because lobbies are taking so long find and im like what about dbd its even worse there?? it takes ages finding a game. i just dont understand it. I always play the role that is 100% bonus. Daytime its survivor and evening its killer. Both takes forever finding a match. Same with chaos shuffle when its 150% bonus.
Sometimes i join my friend on North east american server and even if he has 0 bonus we still get insta games or most like a minute wait time. How is it when we go to my server at 100% bonus it takes us 10+ minutes?
is the uk server dead or what? why am i having this issue? its been months now
@Agaki said:
Finally someone else is asking this. I do not have crossplay off, in the UK as well and on the PS5. I believe this game is dead in the UK because finding a lobby takes over 2 minutes even with 100% incentives. It's so bad that it's putting me with americans, I check profiles after match, always say USA player. I spent half the time looking for matches, lobby times have been unbearable for the past couple of months and is getting worst. I cannot play chaos shuffle as well because there is no lobby, 5+ minutes in the lobby. I even asked if the game was dying before.
Even when I get into a match, it takes so long to become full. I'm getting packet loss because it's forcing me into another region after many minutes in the queue. I play during peak hours as well.
Doesnt even put me with other europeans so i dont know if there is nobody in eu playing this game.I'm also in the UK and can confirm that having 2 popular game modes seems to have impacted the queue times for me as well (I play on Switch and PC). I'm not quite as badly affected, but I do find the wait for a lobby to be quite a bit longer and my match ups can be very uneven (especially with my Killer games). Sometimes the side with the 150% incentive takes the longest to find a lobby, which is not usually what happens.
As far as I know, the "UK" server (actually located in Ireland) is only for 3 countries (UK, Iceland and Ireland) and I don't think there are enough players locally here to support an extra mode. But I do sometimes end up on the European servers, so I know the game can find matches outside my local server if it really needs to.

Thanks for sharing these!
Much appreciated 👍️

Is it my imagination or does it take more pips than it did to even get out of Ash rank now?
I can't remember reading anything about adding more pips for the earlier ranks in the patch notes but maybe I missed it. Or maybe it's the same as always and I don't know what I'm talking about.
-
For me it's been the other way around. I've probably survived a bit more often, whereas I've hardly won a match as Killer.
That said, I've only been playing Chaos Shuffle and it does seem to me that the extra mode has meant longer queues and some very uneven match making. I'm not sure the game has the numbers to support more than one queue, which is a real shame as I've generally enjoyed Chaos Shuffle more than the main game when the matches have been competitive.
Edit: Well, I just got an Artist and two Blights that were obviously way above of my usual MMR and it was zero fun whatsoever. Must be because it's the last day of Chaos Shuffle and only the try-hards are still playing.
-
The problem with these modifiers is that they tend to amplify issues that already exist with the base game (be that camping, tunnelling, the gens popping too quickly etc). It's unfortunate, but BHVR can't do much to stop some players turning a fun casual mode into the sweat fest that the main game has become.
But I've still had fun getting (mostly) terrible builds because it takes the pressure off somewhat and everyone is in the same boat. It's the closest thing we've seen so far to a casual unranked mode and I'm all for it.
-
I just played a full SWF of TTV players as Billy on Nostromo. I got 2 hooks no kills and it was frankly not a fun experience for me (They also got two flashy saves because I was playing Chaos Shuffle with no lightborn).
Maybe it serves me right for taking a bathroom break while queuing up because I quickly realised they would be too much for me without Lightborn. But whatever. SWFs will never be enjoyable to go up against because they fundamentally break the game. If the game was balanced around the way that a half-way decent SWF plays the game, every Killer would need to be buffed to a level that would make SoloQ impossible for the rest of us.
Chaos Shuffle has really hammered home how necessary regression is to quite a lot of average Killer players (myself included). Most of us aren't good enough to compete without it. I simply can't dedicate any more of my life or free time to "getting good" at this game. I genuinely think you need to be either very very skilled, or willing to play especially nasty to stand a chance against even a mediocre but gen focused SWF team.
If I could opt out of playing against a 4 man team on comms, I would. Every time.

Didn't expect this!
I saw no one posted it here but recently something called "Jason Universe" launched which aims to bring back f13 basically.
Hopefully we get Jason in DBD soon.
I actually hope it's not the march licensed chapter next year though because it only has a killer. If they do a Friday the 13th chapter, it should really have Camp Crystal Lake and Tommy Jarvis as a survivor. Though, im sure if there was a jason only chapter it would be a huge hit anyways.BHVR would be dropping the ball big time if they didn't do a full chapter for Jason in my view.
But with what happened to Stranger Things and FF 13's already complicated licensing history, I can understand if they'll want a legally water tight agreement in place before adding him, regardless of what might happen in the future.
Still, with this news there's good reason to be optimistic that he'll finally be added to DBD one of these days.
-
I'd love for this mode to become a permanent feature (or at the very least, to make frequent returns). I didn't initially have a good time, because the other side seemed to be sweating their hardest to win. But now that the games have become a lot more chill, I'm having so much fun. I haven't even touched the regular mode since the event started.
The only thing that I think would improve it is randomised add-ons and items with no offerings allowed other than the BP ones. I enjoyed My Little Oni (even if I barely got to play it), but out of the modifiers so far, Chaos Shuffle is easily my favourite. I could see it maintaining appeal as a permanent game mode.
-
I started on the PC and picked up the Switch version a little while later. I think of the Switch as the portable version and the more casual experience, so I'll still be playing on both systems. I only really play the Killer side of the game on PC because I find the experience a little more frustrating on Switch.
I'm definitely looking forward to only having to do one Rift / Tome instead of two. If I'm honest, it's become a bit of a grind and sometimes I find myself playing the game way past the point that I'm still having fun.

Cause the criteria they used is just a part of the whole 3-gen issue. So the actual 3-gen numbers are definitely significant higher.
Maybe. But I think lots of Killers have probably also moved away from the strategy (Skull Merchant notwithstanding). I personally used to fall back on defending a 3- gen, but now that I know I can't reliably do so, I just make sure to dump a death hook Survivor out of the game when only 2 gens are left.
These stats are certainly very interesting though. Surprised to see Billy fall to only 4% when he's got the magic combo of being both strong and fun to play as. 4% is respectable, I just thought it would be higher. I also haven't seen a lot of Wraiths, Doctors, or Shapes for a while and Ghostie's only returned to my games since the event started.
-
I personally think it's Trapper. I don't think any Killer power in the game is as easy to disable as Trapper's. All a team needs to do is double up and help each other out of traps and he's got nothing. SWFs will often dedicate a team member to go around the map tripping all your traps, which can be very annoying too. And then there's also the chance a Survivor will escape your traps after just one attempt.
I think he's borderline unplayable against higher MMR Survivors unless you bring certain add-ons or go all in on securing a basement kill.
I still enjoying playing the odd Trapper game and he can still be good in capable hands on certain maps, but hands down he feels like the weakest Killer to play as to me.

Oh yes, I got a lot of map offerings, bunch of toolboxes, "bullies", …
Still nuked them all. (I even got insulted by one of the "bullies".)
Maybe like @CorvusCorax86 suggests, too many are used to play META and can't adjust.
I had a few troublesome matches, but I only had to turn-up the heat (a.k.a tunnel one out when 2 gens were left) to get the upper hand.
The thing is, if I wanted map offerings / toolboxes / 4X flashlights and both sides playing for the win as hard as they can, I'd just play the standard DBD experience at peak hours. At least then I'd have a build that counters aspects of the game that I'm weak at or find frustrating.
But that's not really what I'm up for when I queue to play a time limited casual mode that's meant to be fun. Nothing is on the line, not even our invisible MMR ranking, so why do so many players sweat? (that said, bully squads don't "sweat" in the traditional sense, they play to humiliate the Killer and to make them DC in frustration).
For the record, I had much more fun today as the games were relatively chill. Well, until the day wore on and the matches began to get sweatier.

Wow, so MMR really is on in this mode? I've definitely been carried to my current MMR by Lightborn, Iron Grasp, Surge, Sprint Burst and Vigil then. Nerf these OP perks!
(I'm joking. Please don't.)

I really wanted to enjoy this event and I was so looking forward to it (especially since it got delayed), but it's not been as fun as I'd hoped it would be. It feels like it has no match-making at all, which is surprising to me since it's still more or less just regular DBD.
Or perhaps it does and the perks that I normally bring into a trial are bigger crutches than I thought, because there's no way I can still compete with a load out of mostly useless and unfamiliar perks.
At least I've learned some things, like realising that I wouldn't touch the Killer side of the game without Lightborn and that the MMR system actually does do something after all (because if this is what the game is like without it, I don't think I'd be playing anymore).
If I could make some constructive criticisms, I'd like the match-making to be tightened up and I'd like to see map offerings, survivor items and Killer add-on choices to be totally randomised in future iterations (or maybe even disabled). I know it's not a mode to be taken seriously, but it's still not much fun to lose a dozen games in a row.

I've won every killer game of these past 4 hours and I've just been matched with a 38h player. (I'm around the 3.5kh mark)
It has to be off.
I just got a bully squad with Billy that I didn't feel like facing and got myself a 15 minute ban. So yeah, I think that's enough of this mode for me. It would be fun, but I've realised I don't enjoy playing killer without my beloved Lightborn.
I'm just going to finish the tome and never touch it again until they add some matchmaking.
-
It certainly feels like it's switched off. I'm getting absolutely destroyed in every game I play (Killer and Survivor).
-
I recently got Pyramid Head. It's super satisfying to land an M2 at a loop by predicting where the Survivor will be, but oh boy is he a difficult Killer to learn. One of the few times I totally agree with BHVR's rating for a Killer. He is very hard to play as.

Yeah I looked it’s not there. I guess that’s what I get for playing the PTB. That really sucks😭
Maybe support can help? If you've returned back from the PTB, surely you should still get the free cosmetics? because like others have said, they should still be available for the rest of the week.
-
Have you checked to see if it's there with all your other outfits?
I ask because there was no notification, but I still got the Meg and Huntress cosmetics anyway.
-
Yeah, I definitely think you got back filled. If the match making is either instant or taking a long time, you should know that it's not going to be accurate at all.
I once got blinded through a rock on Dead Dawg. It was the final straw that made me decide to run Lightborn 100% of the time. I'm a big advocate for unlocking Billy's perks as a beginner because Lightborn is so helpful when you're still learning the game. Long time players underestimate just how frustrating it is to lose all your potential hooks to flashlight saves (and to get blinded at every pallet too).
