  • I'm not entirely convinced. But then again, it's the cartoony 90's action hero persona of Lara that comes to mind when I think of her, and not the Lara from the more recent reboots.

Her addition does make me worry a bit that BHVR are struggling to secure good licenses to be honest.

  • I wouldn't want to see a full rework. But I do believe it's possible to give them small buffs to better deal with high MMR teams that know the counter play.

For example, they could have a longer base-kit Frenzy duration. This would help them to catch up to Survivors that know to spread out and run early and won't make any difference to Survivors that group up, stay within the terror radius and frequently double gens (since you'll be easily chaining hits against these Survivors, even with a standard 10 seconds of power).

There are other buffs that may be more contentious, like a faster movement speed / shorter cool down when exiting power, which would help them catch up and turn their vaulting ability into a more usable chase power. There have been lots of good suggestions in the feedback section of the forums, but it doesn't seem like buffing Legion is on BHVR's priority list.

  • I still have an Xbox 360, so I bought a copy of Alan Wake around the time he was added to DBD and very much enjoyed my play through. I would play his second game too but my PC just can't handle it.

Out of curiosity, I'll probably do the same for the 2013 Tomb Raider, since that's the version of Lara being added to DBD (I don't expect to enjoy it but it's only £1.50, so no big deal if it's not my cup of tea).

  • I believe it will be DLC that you bought through a specific platform's own store that won't be transferable (only Auric cell purchases). Since I bought almost all my Licensed content on PC via the Steam store, none of this will be available for use on my Switch when cross progression comes. Likewise, the Killers and Survivors that come with the base game of the Switch version won't be available on my PC account.

Other than that (not confirmed, just a suspicion), we don't know anything else about how it might work. I have plenty of questions too, but I guess we'll just have to wait to hear more.

  • mainlegionbuild.jpg

My standard Legion build is Lightborn + Enduring + Surge + Iron Grasp and is the same for both PC & Switch.

The add-ons sometimes change but tbh, Julie's Mix-tape and Mischief list almost never leave my build (at the moment I'm enjoying Julie's Mix-tape with the Iri Button for some extra anti-loop).

Outside of events I usually bring an ebony mori because moris are fun (it's also useful as a makeshift hook counter for when I want to slug early game death hook Survivors).

  • I make my own rules up to try to make things a bit more difficult for myself (and hopefully to better control my Killer MMR):

    1. No more than 1 slowdown or gen regression perk.
    2. A grace period for recently rescued Survivors (e.g. No tunnelling off hook).
    3. No targeting of weaker team members until only 2 gens remain. If they get to 2 hooks before this point and I can remember that, I leave them alone.
    4. No intentional proxy camping.
    5. I play a little more chill if Survivors are really struggling (sometimes I end up losing when I do however, so not always a smart move).
    6. I might run a fun meme build with no regression if I see very low prestige Survivors (Risky though, as sometimes these turn out to be experienced Survivors and the trial will be miserable for me).
    7. I always let one Survivor go and only 4K if I face a full SWF / bully squad, someone in the trial put me in a bad mood or I want to definitely get the Survivor who brought the map offering.

Does it work? I don't know. But then I don't think MMR does a great deal in this game anyway. What you described is just the experience of playing Killer in DBD in my opinion.

  • Generally speaking, I'd like to see more casual clothes for Survivors that tend not to have a great selection (especially my main Meg, since she mostly has sports wear or dresses). A lot of people seem to enjoy the more out there fashion statements, so I guess they're not likely to be as popular and BHVR probably won't make any "boring" clothes.

More grungy / punky style cosmetics for The Legion.

An Iron Maiden T-Shirt for Sable. Maybe a few more band tees would be neat, but not too many and they'd really need to fit in with the horror theme (which would limit the bands they could sensibly add).

I definitely want to see less cosmetics featuring gigantic back packs. How am I meant to stealth in a bush when I've got a big hump on my back like a Ninja Turtle?

More cosplay items could be fun, like Meg's Zoey and Feng's Jill coplays.

And this guy from Alan Wake (with his Christmas lights and head torch, obviously):

    barry.jpg
  • It's not been much fun to play. There isn't parity between the extra powers for both sides, even the bag of Tryks is mostly Killer-sided. It's a very Killer-sided event overall.

I don't want to touch the Survivor side of the game at the moment, tbh. I'm waiting for everyone else to do the community challenges so that I can quickly get the tome levels done with a minimum of play time.

  • I mean, isn't it important for Killers in the game to be fun to play as? Because pre-buff Billy definitely wasn't.

I tried many, many times during last year's Anniversary event to complete his 4K challenge in the event tome. But I rarely got more than a 1K and in the end I gave up. He just felt horribly clunky and frustrating and you were constantly being punished for using his chainsaw too much.

I'd be totally fine if BHVR nerfed (or even removed overdrive), so long as he kept everything else that's improved his playability and made him more enjoyable. I almost never saw Billy before his rework and to have a killer be that unpopular is not really a good thing.

  • We better delete Wraith, Mikey, Pig and Ghost face then, because their entire power is based around getting a first hit for free.

  • Not really. If anything it's made me less likely to change the way I play, because it's made much me more aware of the diversity of thought throughout the DBD community as to how you "should" be playing the game, what perks and play styles are unhealthy or annoying etc. Obviously I've got my own opinions on all this stuff too, but they're often quite different to that of a lot of other players.

I'm pretty sure a good chunk of the DBD player base wouldn't like the way I play anyway (sometimes they tell me they don't!), so I just stick to my own set of rules now and don't worry too much about it.

  • My core build is Self-Care, Botany & Sprint Burst (was MFT before the nerf).

Then the 4th perk depends on how I'm feeling at the time. If the games are mostly sweaty I'll put on Resilience, Vigil or Deja Vu. If I feel like memeing I'll use Bardic Inspiration or Diversion. If I feel sneaky, I'll use Distortion, Lightweight or Fixated. If I have a challenge, I'll use whatever helps with that (We'll Make It, Detective's Hunch etc). Very rarely I'll use an aura perk like Still Sight or Lucky Star.

By Default, my 4th perk is usually Resil or Vigil though.

  • I'd like them to revert this change too. He's a Killer with a high skill floor now and that limits his appeal to me since I was always pretty bad with him. I tend to play more casually and don't really have the time to master a Killer as tricky as Chucky.

Happy for the remaining Chuckys that are skilled with him, but I hope I never get matched with you guys in my Survivor games.

  • Midwich and Hawkin's Lab are my least favourites. 10/10 for the spooky vibes and accuracy, 3/10 for the experience of actually playing on these maps. Lots of similar looking rooms with no exits to get lost or trapped in. Midwich is a little less horrible if you're playing Killer, since most Survivors can't find the gens on this map and the gates are ridiculously easy to patrol.

I also dislike all the corn maps. They somehow manage to be too bright yet also somehow very difficult to track Survivors on. If they run into the corn they're just gone. But they couldn't ever be reworked to my satisfaction, since it's the cornfields that I hate so much about them.

I've not been a big fan of the recent map reworks, so I'm not sure I'd like to see BHVR do any more of them. Every reworked map has been a struggle to play on as Survivor and some of the new loops have been a joke, especially if you have bad ping. I think reworking maps generally hurts the Survivor side more than the Killer side tbh, since you have to learn yet another new map layout (sometimes before you've even learned the old one!).

  • I'm lucky not to see Killers like this very often but man, this kind of thing really stinks. There has to be a way for Survivors to be able to tap out of games like this without penalty.

I know this is all totally "fine" according to the rules, but BHVR please. If all remaining Survivors have been slugged like this and nobody can make an Unbreakable or Soul Guard play, give players a die faster option.

  • I don't enjoy Skull Merchant but she's still way better than how she was before.

To be honest, I'd rather BHVR put their resources towards working on things that would be better for the game's overall health. I know they probably have teams dedicated just to Killer reworks and it's not likely to be pulling resources from elsewhere, but I don't see a 3rd rework to be entirely necessary right now.

I might feel different if I faced her a lot more often than I do, though. I get the impression she's a much more popular Killer on NA servers (Knight has a similar play style and is way more common in Europe).

  • whereiseveryone.jpg

I think either splitting the player base has badly affected match making. Or the players in my usual lobbies are not feeling this event at all and have stayed away (probably a bit of both going on).

My Survivor teams are typically getting turbo stomped by Strong Killers bringing Moris and playing as efficiently as they can (Oni, Blight, Vecna etc). Two or three games of that is more than enough for me, so I switch to play Killer instead for the longest waiting times I've ever experienced. When the lobby does eventually fill up, I might get an experienced SWF clearly above my MMR or a team that's really struggling.

It's also kinda frustrating that all the cosmetics are locked behind completing the tomes. I was fine with how it worked last year with us collecting cosmetics in the trial itself (except for the requirement to escape with an invitation on the Survivor side. That wasn't fair or fun).

  • The fundamental problem with DBD is that it takes 10 times the amount of game time to learn how to be a somewhat decent Survivor when compared to learning how to play the Killer role. Putting 100 hours into Survivor isn't even enough time to have faced every Killer in the game. But if you put 100 hours into learning Trapper, you'll probably have won enough games to have left the lowest MMR ranking behind. Hence why there is a shortage of low MMR Killers for low MMR Survivors to play against. Without a regular influx of new Killer players, the MMR system breaks down because you have Survivors going up against Killers that are much more experienced than they are. I know 100 hours isn't much in-game time compared to most people here, but it still represents a significant time investment for a lot of people and it's going to feel bad if you barely escape at all.

I think the tutorial needs to be much, much better for new players. It may have been adequate for the game as it was in 2016, but it's no longer fit for purpose. Even the tips for facing a new Killer on the loading screen could be much improved. I don't ever want to play another Legion game against a 50 hour player who keeps dying to a deep wound because the tutorial didn't bother to explain a fundamental aspect of basic game play. No matter what our hours or MMR may be, we will get less experienced players in our lobbies from time to time because they have to be matched with somebody.

My idea for improving Solo Q would be to give solo Survivors (and maybe also duos) an extra perk slot reserved exclusively for aura perks that help you to see your teammates. Would help to bridge the gap between Solo Q and SWF players somewhat and make balancing for the game a little bit easier.

  • I honestly don't get all the fuss over this perk. Otz's argument essentially boils down to feeling bad for finding the same Survivor over and over again. I mean… OK? It's unfortunate when that happens, but so what? Doesn't mean the perk needs to change because some players run it to stay hidden while others don't and get found.

There are perks and items in the game to facilitate different Survivor play styles and playing stealthy by avoiding interaction with the Killer is one of them.

Sure, Distortion doesn't help the team and can sometimes harm it. But then again Sprint Burst, Lithe, Windows of Opportunity and more than a dozen other perks that I could mention don't help the team either. Most people run perks to keep themselves alive, since we all have our strengths and weaknesses after all. Some players put their own chances to escape above others. That's just how it goes in Solo Q and going into a match expecting others to play like they're in a SWF is just so unrealistic (that doesn't mean I don't think BHVR could do more to help Solo Q work as a team if they want to. They absolute could and should).

Anyway, I don't understand why this perk in particular gets singled out so often for criticism. I don't think it needs to change at all.

  • @ChaosWam said:

I do agree it can be minimized and all, but I'd also like them to make commendations a thing as well.

Take that thumbs up hidden in the report section and slap it next to each player's endgame card. Let players see how many commendations they get. Then I can fully ignore the endgame chat and thumbs up anyone I think did good.

I like this idea. Would give Switch players the ability to thank their teammates and the Killer for a fun game too.

Personally, I leave the chat window closed all the time anyway. The number of nice interactions that I've had tend to be rare compared to the not so nice ones.

  • I like trying to play fetch with a Demodog or a Xenokitty when I've got Diversion equipped (without much success, I must add. These guys seem to enjoy it about as much as most Pigs like to be booped. In other words, not much!)

Plot Twist is also fun if just before you're about to hit the dirt, you down yourself instead and make the killer whiff.

I think any perk that makes non stealth Killers undetectable can be fun. Especially ones that can make you jump, like a Billy coming at you from out of nowhere at top speed. I also like seeing Killers that run silly perks like Hex: Two Can Play.

  • Cleanse Haunted Ground while someone is in chase.

    If it glows, it goes!

  • You may have noticed this, but even on a good day the MMR system rarely puts 5 players of equal skill together in a lobby. So if every lobby is of varying skill levels, how would this work?

  • They are instant for Survivor but very, very long for Killer. Maybe there just aren't enough players in my region to support two modes like this (or not enough people are queuing for the event). Match-making has also gone to the wall. I've had way more bad match ups than usual and it doesn't seem to matter what side I'm playing as.

I actually preferred how the event was last year. At least then I could hop into a Killer game and easily collect all the cosmetics pretty quickly and it didn't actually matter how well I did. They can keep separate queues for other time limited events if they want, but the Anniversary should be just one big queue for everybody. If for no other reason, it would be a good thing to bring everyone together for the anniversary, surely?

That said, I know there are players out there that don't care for the events or the cosmetics, so I guess this is a compromise to keep those people happy too.

But the idea of having to grind through 2 more tome event levels to collect all the cosmetics on offer is filling me with dread, tbh. Especially if it means playing through some of the worst trials of DBD I've ever experienced.

  • Don't worry, I'm sure BHVR will solve the problem by buffing Killers again in the next patch.

  • @ReverseVelocity said:

Yeah, the snapping of the camera is part of her skillcap. Good Hag players will place traps in a way that will force you to run into walls if you don't specifically look at them. The way you counter this is by looking at the traps before they go off, so your camera will not be moved. It can be pretty hard to know where the traps are sometimes, though.

This mechanic can be used in your favour, however, as stated above.

Actually just had a game against a Hag where she trapped up the open exit gate and of course triggering all her traps pulled the camera in such a way that she could disorientate and then down me. She had Devour Hope and moried me.

Not gonna lie, that was incredibly annoying and frustrating to face. I'm rage quitting from game for the rest of the night after that! Glad I only face this Killer once in a while.

in The Hag Comment by tjt85
  • The same thing happens to me every time I play against Hag too. I hate the way the camera swings around.

I don't know if there's some counter play to this effect that I haven't learned yet, but I might play against a Hag once a month if I'm lucky. Despite having 1000+ hours in the game, I've had very few opportunities to learn how to play against her.

in The Hag Comment by tjt85
  • It's an interesting idea but as others point out, how do you make this work across all MMR bands? A Nurse at low MMR is surely one of the worst performing Killers, but she over performs at the top end of the scale. So how would they decide the base regression for a Killer like her? Likewise, Legion probably over performs at low MMR, but is incredibly weak up against a strong SWF.

The ironic thing is, I currently don't run gen regression on Billy at all because I find I don't usually need it and can generate pressure quickly with some fast downs. But if BHVR lowered his base gen regression rate, I'd maybe feel like I'd need to run at least something, and this could make the games much harder to win for the Survivors that I might typically get in my lobbies.

  • I've been thinking I should start running Distortion just so I have a chance to play my stupid Lute for 16 seconds before being rudely interrupted by the Killer.

I'm not a big fan of Lethal if I'm honest. I don't really think perks designed to speed up the game to such an extent are all that healthy. Just knowing it might be in play makes me feel like I have to glue myself to the first gen I see or I'm throwing. If the Killer gets an early down with Lethal and a Pain Res or two follow, it's going to be a swift GG.

At least if a Killer brings Lethal then I know they came to sweat for the win (and probably have other aura perks too), so that's useful information I guess.

  • I'm trying to figure out the most enjoyable times to play for myself but it's proving to be a difficult task. I do however know when it's almost always a bad idea to queue up for a match and that's any time past 10 PM. You'll either get the most ruthless Killers and bully squads imaginable, or a lobby of completely new players yet to learn they should never play late at night.

Weekends are typically not a fun time to play either. You'd think more people might be playing at weekends, which should mean better match-making, but for me the opposite is often the case. I experience a lot of one sided games on weekends, so it's clearly not working as it should. I think maybe a lot of players stay away from the game because they know the game turns into a miserable sweat fest (although Sundays can occasionally be kinda chill).

Sad to say it, but I've found the best times to play are during the lulls between new content or an event.

When I get home from work I'd like to play Legion as well using BFFs and make them super speed in the off chance we get the Haste modifier but I'm sure I'll get rushed with that build but thats alright

Oh yeah, that would be fun! I love using their BFFs add-on with other haste perks like NOED and Batteries Included too.

I don’t have pics but right now I’m currently running blast mine, red herring, bardic inspiration and either quick and quiet or just a good exhaustion perk.

I get the blast mine, plant it in the gen then hop in a locker near the gen to trigger red herring. Killer comes to gen, kicks it and gets the stun/blind while I hop out of locker and bust out the lute. When the blind duration ends, they come out of it to see me serenading them. 🤣🤣🤣

The meme-y, slow turn stare downs with the killer when I do that are so funny. 😂 Some killers give me nodders, some down me and hook me. Either way, it was fun.

I came up with something similar but I've not been able to pull it off yet. You need Sprint Burst, Chemical Trap, Bardic Inspiration and a pallet that the Killer absolutely has to break to get to you (like the one before that opening on the upper floor on Ormond).

First you charge up your Chemical Trap on a gen. Then when the Killer comes, Sprint Burst to your chosen pallet, throw it down and quickly trap it. Then you bust out the Lute to play a pretty little tune for the Killer and they spare your life. Probably…

  • I'm a fundamentally lazy person, so I'm loving being able to remotely hook survivors. I think this would be totally busted as a perk, though. Best to leave stuff like this in the events, tbh.

that didn’t help at all. Can you say why there is no eta or what is happening. I’ve spent an absurd amount of money on your game/company and you guys give people the run around. What a joke

If you've ever worked in customer service / relations, you'd know that even if it was someone else at fault (and who knows, maybe it is Microsoft in this case), they still won't be able to give you more information about what's gone wrong. Companies that your workplace has partnered with don't tend to appreciate being dropped in it. I know it sucks to be out of the loop, but that's just how it goes.

  • It wouldn't be a DBD event if players weren't tryharding like their lives depended on it. Been getting absolutely destroyed on both sides. Doesn't help that there are seperate queues for the events now, either.

I live in the UK where splitting the queues makes DBD's already less than perfect match making even worse. The game's also been sending me to far flug servers where I'm getting 400ms ping, so that's not great either.

  • I have 131. I'm not an achievement hunter though, so these are just the ones I've unlocked naturally from playing the game a lot. I've only bothered to unlock two adepts (for my mains Meg and Legion).

I think what I mostly have left is the adepts and achievements related to Killers that I don't care for.

For the Switch though, I've unlocked 0. I feel sad for my fellow Switch gamers who care about this sort of thing :(

  • I honestly don't watch that many Fog Whisperers (maybe Otz sometimes?). Maybe because there aren't really that many of them streaming at the times that I watch, I dunno. But my impression is that plenty of smaller streamers do stream this game for a lot longer and on a more regular basis than a some of the more established names.

Maybe there's a perfectly good reason why they've not allowed smaller streamers to join in this time, but I hope this isn't how they'll be doing all drops from now on.

  • I got some pretty decent value out of Resurgence, Overzealous and Iron Will when I had these perks in the Chaos Shuffle modifier. Iron Will value really depends on the Survivor you use, though. I was playing as Cheryl at the time and she's almost completely silent with Iron Will equipped.

  • It certainly feels like the game is moving towards favouring the Killer side at the moment. Killers have had a ton of very significant buffs in recent patches, as well as 4 pretty strong Killers released in a row (Singu is also a very strong Killer if they know what they're doing). Meanwhile Survivors get a fun meme lute perk and MFT nerfed into oblivion. And when they do buff Survivor aspects of the game, they tend to be buffs that help already skilled players (or require Survivors to be able to make co-ordinated plays in a SWF), whereas Killer buffs will usually benefit players of all skill levels. There's been nothing added to the game for the average Survivor player for quite some time.

As a casual Solo Q Survivor, this side of the game has become significantly less fun to play.

  • We really need to see some evidence for this. Bots are common in plenty of other online multiplayer games but as far as I know, BHVR have never queued their bots into public lobbies to make up for low player numbers before.

I think they do test the bots on public servers from time to time, but it would be a very rare sight to see on a regular basis.

Are you sure you're not mistaking players using the anonymous mode for bots?

  • Oh yeah, sorry. D'oh! I forgot about that item.

  • It's Killer Instinct so yeah, no way to counter it.

  • I prefer Iron Grasp as a controller player. It's very difficult to counteract the swaying of a wriggling Survivor when playing on controller, so it's more or less a quality of life requirement for me (plus it completely counters Boil Over). Survivors observing you can't really tell if you've got it equipped either. So I've gotten plenty of hits and even some downs and still been able to hook the Survivor I've been carrying with this perk.

Unfortunately, this won't work against a SWF on comms, because the game tells the carried Survivor that you're running it and they can tell their buddies not to bother taking hits for them. Don't honestly know why. So many other perks don't tell a Survivor when they're in play, but it is what it is.

I also like using both (with Lightborn) on my fun to play Killers like Billy to shut down any bully squad shenanigans.

  • Some streamers do clearly smurf for content reasons when they create new accounts for challenges or experiments.

Obviously not fair to mention names, but I'm sure many of you know what challenges I'm talking about here. And though I do like some of these streamers, I'm not particularly fond of this kind of content. They might be open about it on their streams and YT channels, but it's still technically smurfing imho (at least at the beginning of the challenge, anyway). The Killers they go up against have no idea what's going on and are probably not having the greatest time Versing a Survivor team that in reality has over 40K hours combined.

I do wonder if some of this content inspires at least a few fans to try similar challenges for themselves. Not too many maybe, but there's got to be some.

  • Personally, I would prestige Billy first. Tinkerer is a useful perk and Enduring is one of my favourite chase perks in the game. Great to use on basic attack Killers.

But the main reason is to unlock Lightborn. I run this perk in ALL my builds because I really, really hate being chain blinded at pallets. This is of course just my personal preference. And I think pretty much any advice you'll be given on perks will be strongly informed by personal preferences.

For now, I think you should focus on playing each of your Killers to see which ones you enjoy the most. It'll be a lot easier to figure out which Killers to prestige for their perks when you know what play styles you enjoy and what types of Killers you favour. Monitor & Abuse from the Doctor is good to unlock if you like playing with stealth, for example. Or maybe you really like using Hexes, so hag might be good choice if that's the case. Just examples, of course. What I'm saying is to just experiment and see what you like.

Though I'd probably prestige at least one Killer with a decent gen regression perk pretty soon. You will probably need to equip at least one.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/416355/is-distressing-useful-on-any-killer-other-than-doctor

I mean it gets usefull in every build specialized on skill checks aswell as starstruck.

For startstruck is wesker probably the best choice alone because of the fact you can use his ability as movement to get to the exposed survivors quicker. Besides that he slows survivors and has a huge terror radius xD

Well for skill checks it's doctor obviously.

You could also use it on legion because his detection gets bigger with bigger terror radius as far as I remember (I think it's not worth it, you probably won't reach people you detect because of this, but I guess you have more information xD)

I use it on a Legion meme build to extend their terror radius theme across the entire map. Can be surprisingly effective against Survivors that are new to the game, since they tend to hate being in the Killer's terror radius. On an indoor map, they'll think you're close by the entire trial even if you're not.

With Susie's mix tape and the Never-Sleep Pills, you might be able to reach those far away survivors revealed by killer instinct, but I haven't personally given this build a try. Might be fun to test some day. But yeah, it is very good info regardless.

  • Kinda like Mario Kart? I do like the concept of a map voting system and have probably suggested something similar in the past, though I didn't consider the 4 vs 1 of the voting system heavily favouring Survivors. In any case, I'd like such a system to provide the option to vote for a random realm (Entity's choice). Not sure how that would fit into your system, however.

If we must have map offerings in the game, I'd like for the sacrificial ward offering to be reduced to brown rarity in the blood web. The chance of getting one is currently very very small, especially compared to the pool of advantageous map offerings that a party of Survivors could potentially bring.

  • It could use a buff for sure. I think 60 seconds would be a reasonable cool down. They could maybe even set it to 40 like an exhaustion perk and it still wouldn't be very strong.

Beyond the meme value, it's an absolutely terrible perk as it is. Any time I've tried to get value, the Killer's come to my gen to boot us all off, wasting the 16 seconds I could have spent doing the actual gen. I suppose it's good for inspiring Survivors on 1 or 2 person gens but that's about it.

The only reason I can think for it to be so weak is the worry that a 3 or 4 person SWF could get especially good value out of it.

  • No, I do understand what you mean. While it's always exciting for us to get new content, I do sometimes feel like BHVR doesn't quite have the resources it needs to be pushing out so much new content on such a tight release schedule.

I think 3 chapters a year would be the ideal, personally. Then the devs might have a bit more time to focus on quality of life stuff, fixing bugs, tweaking game play, buffing underused perks, developing new game modes etc. I'm glad they don't follow the crunch time culture of the bigger studios but even so, the workload for developing 4 chapters a year plus everything else must be a pretty big undertaking.

I don't think anything will change, though. The reality is that new content releases are what keeps the lights on and everybody at BHVR in a job.

  • The power creep for Killers is getting a bit daft at this point in my opinion. Chucky (pre-nerf) and Unknown arguably had/have too many strings to their bows already, but this is next level. Why does this guy need 4 powers? Quite a lot of Survivors struggle when the Killer has one power, never mind 4. I think mage hand and fly alone could win him a decent number of trials against Survivors like me. And I'm just a bad Survivor with a thousand hours, so can you imagine what it must be like for a new player to face a Killer with a power this complicated and difficult to counter? There will be a lot of completely new players going against Vecnas already fairly proficient with his powers, because MMR is not really a thing in DBD.

I dunno, maybe I'm just burned out on the Survivor side of the game, or I'll just never be good enough to pass the threshold where it's no longer mostly a frustrating experience for me. But I'm tired of the seemingly endless patches consisting of very strong new Killers and/or huge buffs for the older ones. Some of the buffs have been necessary, but altogether it leaves me with the impression that the Killer side of the game is the priority and getting much more attention from the Devs at the moment. I mean, of course there have been some Survivor improvements, like the anti face camp and anti 3 gen systems, but they very rarely make an impact on most trials.
