The vast majority of times people complain about tunneling or camping it's really a case of bad teammates making bad plays and it's easier to just blame the killer. Essentially what you said kind of.
Too many people use DS offensively tho, just like BT, abusing its intended purpose.
Rotating around the hooked survivor never going more than 20 meters away. Instantly going for the unhooked survivor if they do manage to get off the hook. Pretty sure there are no good plays to be made at that point. You either save and hope you can draw the aggro. Or let them die.

Unrelenting is a pretty noob Perk.
I was about to say there is no such thing as a noob perk. But yeah, Unrelenting is definitely one. Honestly every other perk, if used properly has it's uses.

Tell that to the Huntress and Ghostface that was tunneling and proxy camping my games earlier.

Yeah that's the one. Unfortunately I ran out of challenges I think that I can do. Only made it to Tier 40 on the Rift. Only have about 6 challenges left on all 3 levels, but some of them are just beyond my skill. I thought this one didn't sound too bad,but it's definitely not working out well. My Dwight sucks too. Don't have him levelled. Basically running him adept with self care lol.
Yeah it's always the simple sounding ones that bite you in the ass. I swear it feels like the game conspires against you when you want to do them.
-
Was that the one where you need one person to leave before you while using Bond? If so, that one was a nightmare for me as well. In my case because my team just couldn't stay alive.

Trappers traps immobilize you..hag still has to chase you
And Trapper has to traverse the map to take advantage of you being immobilized. I'd say they're pretty even. I think hags traps are too easy to break. But they still need to be breakable.
-
Wraith takes like 6 seconds to flashlight burn so I don't see him as a big deal. Hag you can definitely make a fair argument. But since Trapper's traps can be disarmed it only seems fair hags can be as well. Maybe they should change hags traps to either take longer to break with a flashlight. Or make them like Demos portals.
-
That's honestly the best attitude to have. Head on is one of my favorite perks because every stun with it is fun. There was a Puppers video a while back where the Demogorgon get beat pretty badly. They all waited at the gate crouched. He the Demo came along and slowly started back pedaling. They started chasing him whole crouched until he was backed into a corner. It was hysterical to watch. They all died to end game collapse because they were all having to much fun to leave.
Goofy stuff like that is so nice to break things up.

Don't forget the "random" skillcheck that pops up exactly when the killer hooks someone.
I hate that. I swear it happens 9 out of 10 times.
-
Since it's in the basic survivor pool they were probably just trying to fill out some perk slots. Using it with Spinechill to avoid the killer completely would be interesting though.
-
I don't really mind Iri hatchet Huntress. I mind the, shall we say overly generous hitbox her hatchets seem to have.
-
Doesn't really matter to me. The only thing I dislike is alot of Freddy players tend to tunnel alot. Otherwise I don't mind him.

No, it wasn't. In fact, way back when, it was considered an exploit. However, there was no way to completely get rid of it without messing up a bunch of other stuff, so now it's taken into account when it comes to balancing the game.
Source: I've been here since launch.
How was it considered an exploit? And if it was considered an exploit, what did people think the survivors were supposed to do? I'm not arguing. I'm genuinely curious.
-
Puppers is probably my favorite. Monto and Tofu are pretty entertaining as well. Otz is pretty insightful and down to earth. Pug can be be fun, but I need to be in the right mood as he can also be obnoxious. Marth is great to watch because he makes so many great observations. He's also great about interacting with his chat as he's a smaller streamer.
-
No Hawkins is the worst. That map is just miserable.
-
It is petty and pointless. I personally despise Ash and Steve but I don't feel the need to make them miserable for playing as them.

Exactly, thank you, I totally agree. These kids today don't understand that Pyramid Head is Iconic in the world of Horror. I believe Silent Hill 2 is 25 years this year? Don't quote on that but I played it on the PS2 WAYYYY BACK in the day. lol I liked the Silent Hill film I thought the guy who played Pyramid Head did a great job.
He's hardly iconic. Just because a IP is old doesn't mean it's iconic. Add to that the ridiculous name and absurd hat and I'll pass.

If you run through every survivor with an ebony Mori you're guaranteed to depip. Kinda the same thing applies to hammering gens and escaping through the hatch. You're trying to play as little of the game as humanly possible so you get punished for it. A good system in theory but it definitely needs some tweaking for it to actually be taken seriously because right now it's a joke.
And that shouldn't be a depip either. In both cases you achieved the main goal and should at least safety.
-
I don't think the OP expects to pip when they don't interact with the killer. But if you pound out the gens and escape you shouldn't depip.
-
For killer, Doc, Pig, and Wraith.
For survivor, Nancy, Claudette, and Dwight.
-
It's just a bunch of little bastards being rude.
-
I think buffing perks to make more viable options is a better way to go. Having a bunch of solid options is better than making the current ones worse in my opinion. Of course I don't use the meta anyway so I suppose it doesn't really effect my day.
-
I'd be good with that. But killers should get a minimum of a safety for 2 kills.
-
@Rivyn said:
@Johnny_XMan Why does it make sense to pull somebody off hook with the killer nearby, and not expect the killer to go after the weak link? I don't understand why it must always be the fault of the killer for capitalizing on survivor mistakes.
I understand what the OP was speaking about, i did agree with him in my first post. There are hardcore tunnelers that will go out of their way to tunnel somebody out of a match, I don't deny that. But at the same time, I also acknowledge that a good portion of cases where survivors scream 'tunneling,' it's either on them (running back into the killer, for instance), or their team, for taking them off hook when the killer is right there.
Except a large number of unsafe unhooks are forced by a killer proxy camping. That's not to say some survivors don't make bad plays. They certainly do. But you can't deny the majority of unsafe safes are because the only other option is to let the person die.
-
I like the idea of a witch killer better. Another tragic killer would be cool.
-
I personally can't stand her. I find her power to be obnoxious. But no, I won't hook suicide against her for that. The few times I hook suicide are due to my team.

I just find it really strange that people try to get all perks without P3ing. Like, c'mon. P3 takes, like, 20% of the whole time.
Because if you don't care about P3 it's a waste of time and points. I P3d one character for the achievements. I have no intention of P3ing anyone else because it's a waste.

@Black_Fence said:
Bond is better than self care. Use Bond, to find someone to heal you if you are that scared of being injured. Better yet run iron will and just don't give a ######### about being injured, that is what I do anyway.
Self care is a massive waste of time, half the time the killer will hear you healing unless you ran away from the hook which is an even longer waste of time. Self care doesn't help anyone on your team accept you so really if you are arguing it is viable it is only viable for solo-q. There is nothing worse than dying on the hook because immersed Claudy wants to self-care before she can rescue. If I could ban the perk I would because as a solo queuer I have learned that people that use SC think it is brilliant because they can gain a health state, but in reality they waste someone elses because by the time you are healed someone has probably gone down and you have done ######### all. It also encourages people to hate being injured. Being injured is not the end of the world (SC users seem to think it is) it is better to push 32 seconds of a gen then it is to SC because if you waste that 32 someone is probably gunna get hooked and/or die.
To me self care is the equivalent of no mither, yeah you get to change from one health state to another but the drawback of the perk is way to big. SC used to be meta now it is just trash. If you are red ranks and using self care you don't belong in red ranks simple as. I have taken the time to list perks that can be altruistic that is better than self care:
Inner Strength
Adrenaline
Pharmacy
We'll make it
Botany Knowledge (if you pair it with self care you are even more dumb, wasting 2 perk slots for something inner strength can do twice as quick...)
Plunderers
Resilience
For the people
Pairing Botany with Self Care isn't dumb. It's the only way to make it a good choice. And since it let's you heal others faster it's good by itself.
-
It's kind of hit or miss. Like old Ruin honestly. When it works it's a beast. When it doesn't it's a waste. High mobility killers like, Spirit or Billy, and good time waster killers, like Legion or Doc probably get the most use out of it.

They know they are ruining the game for the killer when they pick that character. Nobody picks this character because they like her. They pick her to have EZ camouflage. Anyone that says otherwise IS A LIAR.
Not to mention that as survivor all I even see Claudettes do is run to a corner and Self Care. So even as survivor they are ruining my game, leaving me to die on a hook when they could easily save me.
My first main was Claudette. Because I actually liked her. Her back story made me really love her. I also really liked her perks. Self Care pre nerf was solid. When you added Botany like I did you were healing at nearly full speed. Add on Empathy for tracking your feel survivors and getting them a quick heal when needed. Lastly We'll Make It for those fast hook heals. I miss that build. If anything your rant makes me want to play that again.

What's unhealthy about wanting to kill people that play as the EASIEST SURVIVOR TO USE.
Hiding with Claud takes absolutely 0 skill and is probably the lamest way to play this game in every conceivable way. I'd rather get face camped by Insid Bubba in the basement than deal with immersed Claudettes.
And if you limited your disdain to them it would at least be understandable. You've flatly stated that regardless of how they play or what they are wearing you'll tunnel them. So yeah, that's kind of unhealthy. I despise Ash and Steve. But I treat them based on how that person is playing them.
-
Too loud and big of a character model in my opinion. But ultimately it comes down to does that character work for you. If they do that's all that matters really.

You ruined my game by being a Claudette, so I guess we are even.
How? I swear I remember your posts were always pretty reasonable. I'm assuming this is indeed a joke. Not that I expect you'll admit it. If not, you might want to seek help. If this is how you really feel this ######### ain't healthy.

Mikey is one killer you rarely see complaints about from either side. Genuinely a fun killer to play as and against.
I've had alot of camping/tunneling Mikey players unfortunately. When they don't play like that he's alot of fun to face though.
-
I think the better route is to improve the existing perks. It's better to have 10 solid perk choices then 30 mediocre ones.
-
I had this discussion in another thread. Orginally I thought she was fine. But I rechecked the numbers and do think the recharge is a bit harsh. I don't think they should get rid of it. But shave a half second off each blink would be a good spot I feel.
-
I don't use the meta perks.

Go ahead and play her without the range or CD addons. Survivors can literally run in straight lines to avoid you for easily 5 blinks. The cooldown removed the skill it took to juke or dodge her and now anyone with 2 braincells to rub together can outrun an addonless Nurse.
I don't believe I said she didn't need addons to be more effective.
-
@immortalls96 said:

No it adds bare minimum 3..because she cant even begin to charge till her recharge is done
Her first blink is recharged by the time she comes out of fatigue though. So you're still only waiting about 1 second for your second blink.
-
@immortalls96 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1307428#Comment_1307428
Add 4 seconds to a gen every time she blinks..which she has to do to even move..then you start seeing why it's a problem especially with anti gen perks on the chopping block
3 of those seconds were already there from the fatigue timer weren't they though? So didn't it literally add 1 second?
-
@coppersly said:

The power bar was a sloppy addition by people who don't play her.
If they did it like PH's powerbar though, it might be different.
Unless my math is wrong her power bar delays her by 1 second. Hardly debilitating.
-
@immortalls96 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1307386#Comment_1307386
The power bar was overkill..you get time to react as she reappears before she can even strike and her addons were butchered..the power bar killed her viability
Not really. Her fatigue is 2 seconds. If you use both blinks you add half a second a piece. It's like 4 seconds for both her blinks to come back. She's not as good, but the bar hardly killed her. Agreed that the majority of her addons are trash though.
-
I believe it is a hold over from people hacking in blood points to their account. Now it honestly doesn't make sense. At least not leaving it as low as it is. For some reason they don't want people to be able to quickly level new characters. Though I really don't see why.
-
Are you referring to the addition of the power bar or the various bugs that have cropped up? To me the power bar is honestly a nonissue. It would mess with the timing people used to have down for her. But by now they should have adapted. If you mean the bugs, then yes they need fixed.
-
Given the rate at which we get new killers/survivors making perks that are good without being OP would be daunting. Many of the perks they come out with aren't bad ideas. They just have to many restrictions to be really useful.
-
I never understood this either. Just unlock everything on the new characters. Not like ptb matters.
-
Unfortunately a very defensive strategy is what's most effective for Bubba. His low mobility leaves him with limited options. I've long argued he should get his own version of Billy's chainsaw sprint. They could have him swinging his saw above his head for the animation. It could be a secondary power and have a cooldown.
-
Seems more obnoxious than OP. At least from my observations so far.
-
Both sides have #########. Trying to pretend it's the exclusive provenance of one side is ridiculous.
