And yes. Sometimes for the extra BP.
-
I use it to grab perks on characters I don't want to level up. Either because I don't play them and don't want to waste the BP on them. Or because I don't want to clutter my blood webs with some perks. I'm looking at you No Mither.
-
I would make him 110% in tier 1. That way if it takes him a bit to get out of tier 1 it's not so detrimental.
-
So 3 BnP and your complaining? They burned 3 ultra rare addons to bang out one gen super fast. Your saying 3 ultras shouldn't be super powerful? Toolboxes already have been nerfed to oblivion. What more do you want?
-
I don't understand why they rank past you to heal.
-
@coppersly If they reworked the current ones to be post game that would be a big help. Also if they brought out new perks and tacked a BP bonus on them it would help.
-
The game is actually fairly balanced in it's current state. Some of the lower tier killers need buffs. And the maps still need some tweaks. But it's overall pretty balanced.
-
Fair points OP.
I took the hit because I don't run DH.
I ate the hook because I don't run DS.
I lost the chase because I don't run Adrenaline.
I don't run keys. Though I have escaped because I found them in chests.
I cleansed every totem I found. Still got hit with Noed.
You only won because I played nice. See how it can go both ways?
-
As others have already said. You can't rely on your team for heals. Self Care, like many perks can be good or bad depending on the situation. Combing it with Botany makes it solid and more efficient than another survivor healing you.
-
@Real_Cheesus Not every perk needs to be meta. But I do agree that the majority of the perks need reworked.
@Rydog You as I said above, not every perk needs to be meta. But every perk should feel useful. As it stands the majority of perks don't.
@Sluzzy Pop works perfectly. It's arguably one of the best designed perks in the game. You're right high mobility killers benefit from it more. But that's true with most perks. Unfortunately high mobility usually means viability in a game where time is so important.
-
I refuse to use DS and the like. Simply because I don't like them as perks. I also am trying to be considerate to the killer. But I definitely have those nights where they make me want to run the sweatiest build possible.

Ranks would matter more than they do if it weren't for the monthly resets. You could stop playing the game for a few months and be reset back to level 20. It's why you'll see level 17 killers with maxed out teachables.
So yeah ranks do matter, but they're not accurate.
I do this all the time. Not to derank. I just tend to take breaks from the game. I actually just came back from a long break. I was back to rank 20. It took me a couple of games to get back in the groove. But after that it was probably unfair for me to be there.

I'd say, as in my original thread, it's a matter of color, not number per se, what do you think? I say this cause most players I face of a specific color act in a common way, meaning yellow and grey as noobs, green as average player, purple as non toxic good survivor or killer and red as toxic egomaniac killer or survivor, yes, all colors with their exceptions, not everyone acts the same, but most do.
In a general sense yes. I have found purple to be the most enjoyable ranks as survivor. You generally get competent teammates. And usually have a fun match whether or not you escape. I find red ranks too sweaty for my taste. And green is usually very mixed.
-
I'd say rather that rank doesn't mean as much as it probably should. Every color is such a mixed bag it's honestly hard to say what you'll face.

Personnaly I hate when the killer let me on the ground, so I don't do that when I'm the killer, but I see what mean.. To prevent DS, but the survivor can DS me it's not a problem for me
It's not just for that. I personally feel bad if they just came off the hook. I hate being tunneled as a survivor. So I try not to do it as killer. By slugging I avoid the DS if they have it. But more importantly to me I apply map pressure without burning their second hook. It just feels more sporting to me.
-
To make you feel bad when you pull one from a chest. In all seriousness though I wish they did something at base without addons.

The one who said I have a choice to tunnel or not? If they unhooked on my watch, and I can't find the unhooker, what should I do? Let's pretend I didn't see this injured Feng running?
Personally I slug them In this case and move on. That's one reason I'm almost never hit by DS. It also wastes the slugs time. As well as the person who has to pick them up.
-
Because exhaustion addons are a waste of an addon.

Solo queue is literally torture. Last match I had a dc, suicide on second hook and someone leave through hatch with a key without me and they weren't being chased. You get the worst possible teammates in solo queue.
What do you mean? I've been assured repeatedly how easy survivor is.

As silly as it sounds I like running it as a "free Boldness" perk with how close a hook typically is at most times. That's 500 Boldness every minute for a quick 2.5 second action meaning I don't have to go too far out of my way from a generator or take too much time with say finding and breaking a totem to get points.
Also maybe give the perk only half the cooldown if you stop or get interrupted while using it.
When I was doing the Sabo challenge for the rift I probably broke 10 hooks that game just for the extra points.
-
I have no intention of buying the chapter personally. I see no need. The killer is lame. His perks are trash. And the survivors perks are crap. There's just nothing to this chapter worth buying.

im just wondering why survivors get a ton of 2nd chance perks and killers have noone (noed maybe). if they miss a hit or got mindgamed they are screwed. in my opinion there shouldnt be any 2nd chance perks. u allready have to mess up twice to get hooked once, and even than u get 2 more chances as long as the killer dont camps you
You mean the perks that exist to try to ensure the survivor gets those two other hooks?

This is a weird line in the sand. You're playing a game that was derived from one of the most exploitative and "low" horror subgenres in existence.
It was mostly a joke. Though I am sick of hearing Ash rambling on about people taking shits on tall grass. I've also had way to many unpleasant Ash (and Steve) players. It has made me dislike them heavily.

There's plenty of cursing in the text descriptions for everything.
Also, people who don't like Ash's voice, I don't think we can be friends.
I'll try to soldier on so how.
Yes. Please let me mute that annoying #########. I swear I'm about to start to refuse to rescue Ash players.

Theres soo many killers i hate going against, but i will never never dc/ kill myself against them
My point was you're assuming the OP's motives. I don't agree with just throwing the game either.
-
No, I bring Plunderers.

I dont think its bananble
but imo its toxic since your litrally ruining the game for your team because you cant handle a strong killer
You're assuming Spirit's power level is the issue. We all have at least one killer we can't stand to face. Most of the time their strength isn't the issue. I personally hate facing Legion and Plague. Not because they are strong. But because they're obnoxious to me and the matches are never enjoyable.
To the OP. No, it's not a ban worthy offense. But it is inconsiderate of your teammates. I suggest just playing super reckless against Spirit. Who knows, maybe playing with no ######### given will make it a fun match.
-
Lots of potential explanations as to why it failed. You did it too early, dedicated servers, or who knows what else.
-
Because it's too inconsistent.

Let's be honest here, how many times you're gonna heal in one game? A yellow medkit with a brown addon is enough for 2 normal self-heals. Most of the time you'll get healed by a teammate after an unhook or something. I would rather run Inner Strenght(if i don't have a medkit) or bond instead of BK and SC.
It's not a bad "combo", but you have better alternatives
I didn't say there weren't better alternatives. But that depends on your goals. If all I care about is my own heals I'd run Inner Strength. The Botany SC combo allows me to heal myself which is more efficient than another person healing me. And let's me heal others faster.
-
Tofu did a video a little while back covering this topic. I think he hit the nail on the head in it. Basic recap was there should be a few safe pallets. Every other pallet should be moderately safe. Meaning both sides have a reasonable chance to mind game the pallet.

Maybe "waste" was a bit of a dramatic overstatement. What I'm getting at is that using Botany Knowledge to offset SC's inefficiency is not the best setup. And if healing teammates is the priority, We'll Make It would do the job of both of those perks, while freeing up a perk slot for something like Bond or Spine Chill.
We'll Make It is situationally better than Botany yes. I'm not saying you're suggestions are bad. I'm just looking at the OP's goals for a match.
-
@CashelP14 pretty much. The layout is just a nightmare to me. That plus the reworked Lerys. I used to like Lerys. But after it's rework I can't stand it.
-
I was about to point out how wrong you are but @Carlosylu beat me to it.
-
If I can waste a couple of minutes of the killers time. They give up. A couple of gens pop. I manage to lose them. Those are all wins to me.
-
It's not griefing. But given your description of how things unfolded it was a dick move. Also a confusing one. Toolboxes are useless now. So of all the things to screw over a teammate for that has to be the most baffling.

Self-Care is extraordinarily inefficient at its job compared to other heals, and you're basically wasting a whole second perk slot (Botany Knowledge) just to counteract that. It also teaches you bad habits, which you then have to unlearn once you get to the point where SC usually won't cut it.
Bond is the best healing perk in the game, and I encourage you to try running it in SC's place. It constantly feeds you valuable information, it shows you where to run to both get healed AND to heal other teammates, and you can still couple it with Botany Knowledge (although I would also try tossing Botany out in favor of Spine Chill, Iron Will, We'll Make It, or an exhaustion perk).
I promise you, your play will improve once you learn to live without Self-Care. The added bonus is that it gets you more confident about playing while injured, because sometimes healing is NOT the best choice.
Pairing SC with Botany is not wasting an extra perk slot. It gives you unlimited heals that are slightly slower than a teammate healing you. It also gives a nice bump to healing your teammates. It's debatable whether it's the best idea. But it's hardly a waste.
As to the OP, I see nothing wrong with your current build as long as it works for you. Given you run BT and Kindred I'm guessing you like going for hook saves. You could start running a medkit for your own heals. Then swap out SC with We'll Make It. Combined with Botany the unhook heals are stupid fast.
-
Hawkins. I can't stand that map.
-
I wish they'd shorten the timer to about 45 seconds instead. 60 is a bit too generous. I'm wary of going much less as DS does at least make killers think twice about legit tunneling.

Oof, calling them "b@stards" is kinda rude but, I mean, I get them..? It's just so ridiculous, this game is about pain and horror, NOPE, look at that shexy new killer!
Wasn't meant as an insult. Though I do roll my eyes when I see ######### like "Daddy Myers".
-
Honestly, I can't understand all the thirsty bastards either.
-
I don't run the meta anyway. So PH doesn't really matter to me.
-
When I found out you could play as Michael Myers. Halloween is my favorite horror franchise. So that easily sealed it.
-
I feel like they're about even. With killer being a bit harder.
-
Don't worry about the end results. Just play for fun. If you get wrecked who cares? Just try to enjoy your games and focus on improving. If you have the time, I'd suggest watching some streamers to try to learn from them. Marth, Otzdarva, and FunGoose are all really good. FunGoose even gives running commentary of what he's doing. It's hard to follow because he talks so faster, but it's highly informative.
-
Plague is gross. Can't stand playing against her personally. As far as cleansing goes, you need to use your brains about it. Don't cleanse the moment you get infected. Wait until you're broken, or nearly broken. Cleansing against her is fine. But it needs to be done strategically.

Camping is more of a Wraith or Ghostface thing than a Pig thing, but yes, tunnelling is 100% a huge Pig problem. And it SUCKS for everyone else who never even looks at trapped survivors. The only time I interact with a trapped survivor is when we just happen to cross paths, and I SLUG them. That's the end of it, or if they heal, I'll whack them and keep going.
And I wouldn't say that she specifically screws solo players, even if I cream rainbow randoms with two reds as a green rank. But for me at least, I tend to thrive more on the chaos of solo-play on both sides. Good Pig players put the survivor team against each other (just like in SAW V!), and count a trapped survivor as basically removed from the game, limiting the playing field of how many survivors they have to deal with. If you, or your fellow survivors, are dumb enough to pop a generator when someone's trapped, then that's on you/them.
That's what I do. If I encounter the trapped survivor I slug them and move on. Usually I'm in a chase and find them at a box. I'll veer slightly smack them down and go back to the chase.
As for the OP. I personally love facing Pig. If you don't get the camping tunneling Pig she's a blast to play against.
