Can't do that while i'm focused on chasing the other survivor (survivor A)
And it would be ridicolous to expect killers to set up a timer for every survivor they hooked, right?
1) Yes you can. It's really not hard.
2) You don't even need to if you know how long certain actions take. If you hook someone and go across the map that's going to be at least 10 seconds. You chase someone around a loop twice each hit, that's at least 20 seconds. You pick them up and put them on a hook, that's at least 10 seconds. You come back to the first guy, took 10 seconds to get there. Means you only need to wait 10-15 seconds for their DS to go away.
3) Nothing is stopping you from putting a clock on your screen or next to your television. I have a timer I my phone I could easily just hit the button when the match starts, set it next to my TV and use it to time everything. Not even necessary but still an entirely valid option.

The only problem i see with DS is when i hook survivor A,
survivor B got unhooked and healed up,
after hooking survivor A i find and down survivor B and get D-striked.
It doesn't happen every game but it really feels awful and unfair when it does happen.
Everything else about DS is completely fine to me.
It's 60 seconds though. The problem is you weren't paying attention to the game, it's not DS that is the problem here. Yea it kind of sucks but that just means you are applying a lot of pressure, which is in itself a good thing. Not to mention there are 2 other survivors you can go for. It's entirely in your control here. If you find yourself catching someone that was recently hooked, just slug them and wait maybe 15 seconds. Kick a gen, break a pallet, maybe check the guy on the hook to see if someone is coming for the rescue. By the time you do that and come back, DS should be up almost every time.

If you post a 17 min video, you should include a tl;dw. Just a suggestion.
1) That's not really an option. He discusses a lot of important stuff I can't really condense it.
2) Would it kill you that much to watch the whole thing? He's not boring to watch or anything and he makes valid points the entire video.

Yes my friend you are correct, he is awesome.
He just says DS should deactivate once you start a genny, which I agree with myself.
I'll respect his opinion more than others but I still vehemently disagree. There are situations where you will need to do a gen but can still get tunneled. If the killer leaves the hook to bait a rescue and comes right back, and the difference between finishing the gen before the killer gets there is you getting on it with the rescuer or not, that's a big problem. Not sure what he expects survivors to do. Do nothing for 60 seconds? Purposely get into a chase to get value out of DS? It just doesn't make sense.
Again all the killer would have to do is slug this person. If they get on a gen, then they might not necessarily be in a good position to get into a locker. You don't HAVE to grab them off the gen, you can just slug.
I played several games last night as a few killers. 2k the first game with a safety pip as GF (mainly because I kinda threw the game to get my daily), and the rest were 4k's. One 3k as Clown but the person that escaped was a friend and I pretty much let them go (even though they insta-healed in my face LOL). Had many instances of DS, did not get DS'd once. Even when I "tunneled" someone and purposely picked them up expecting it, just got lucky and they weren't the ones that had it.
Point is that if you don't tunnel people you don't get DS'd. It was a complete non-issue to me. Even in the GF game they all had DS, I didn't tunnel anyone and never got hit with it, and had I not basically went out of my way to lean on someone I could have gotten at least a 3k, probably a 4k.
-
I don't like this word "boring". It's like a fad people throwing this word around to describe something they don't like about the game. "This killer is boring" ... "this perk is boring"... "this map is boring". Boring is like going to church when you're not religious. You aren't engaged or stimulated. You feel like falling asleep. The only time I think using the word "boring" to describe your experience in the game is valid is if nothing is actually happening.
Case and point, my friend and I as rank 1's got this rank 20 Pig last night. She was REALLY bad even for a rank 20. She would lose track of you without you even doing anything. She wasted a lot of time walking around the map in places where no one was at. Chases would last all of 5 seconds, you basically would have to stop and wait for her to find you again. And of course she wasn't at all good enough to challenge us. We spent majority of the game doing NOTHING and with 1 gen left we decided to stop and just screw around and get chases. THAT was boring (up until we made our own fun) because we weren't engaged or stimulated. It just triggers me when someone hates playing against Clown, for example, and gets chased, does all the things you'd want to happen in a game just with them complaining it's Clown the whole time, then they turn around and say "Clown is boring". No, what you want to say is "Clown is frustrating" or "I hate Clowns". Not that he is boring.
And for the record yes we all escaped the Pig but we played nice and let her get some hooks and stuff. We're not complete bullies.
All that said...
Killers I find fun to play: Spirit, GF, Huntress, Billy, Nurse, Legion, Trapper, Oni.
Killers I have little to no interest in playing because they don't appeal to me: Wraith, Deathslinger, Doc, Bubba, Myers, Hag.
Killers I enjoy playing against: Everyone but Doc and Deathslinger.
Killers I dislike playing against: Doc and Deathslinger. Also sometimes Wraith because I find them to be toxic a lot of the time.

Stopped reading when OP claimed that only 0.5% of players were 4man SWF metasquads, that is ABSOLUTELY not true for redranks at least not on PC, then again there's a reason why Consoleplayers are generally not taken seriously.
There's the simple fact that yes as a killer you will 4k most of the time if you play like a dick against survivors who want to have fun mostly but what kind of win is that? "I won against people not taking the game seriously while I sweat my ass off, gg"
Do you know when camping works? It doesn't work because the survivors are bad, it's because you are abusing the fact that the rest of the gameplay is a boring slug and you're essentially "that guy" in this partygame that almost nobody would ever play with again if they had the choice. Not saying OP does this but Suicidefox nodded towards this "tactic" and most of the time when you see killers who 4k all the time then it's people who basically abuse altruism.
Besides that, the fact that survivorperks in general are this strong while being so many is beyond ridiculous, if there were no perks in the game currently then killers would become stronger, let that sink in.
"Stopped reading when OP claimed that only 0.5% of players were 4man SWF metasquads, that is ABSOLUTELY not true for redranks at least not on PC, then again there's a reason why Consoleplayers are generally not taken seriously."
The keyword here is METASQUADS. As in good enough to actually make SWF and any perk seem overpowered because they do everything near flawlessly. On Xbox majority of games at red ranks are SWF. More than on PC I would bet because it's literally every other game is a 3 or 4 man. But that doesn't make them a metasquad, they are just SWF. I've faced a ton of red rank SWFs that aren't very good. It's actually very rare to play against a good SWF group.
And for the record, that doesn't make DS or BT or any perk or item overpowered. More so it demonstrates the problem with SWF. A metasquad SWF perkless will still crush 99% of killers out there, and the 1% that win will still have an uphill battle.
"There's a reason Consoleplayers are generally not taken seriously"
1) That's because a lot of PC players have massive egos. I can't remember his name, but a PS4 grandmasters Lucio in Overwatch made those same PC players eat crow when he swapped over to PC and got grandmasters in less than a week. In fact his GM rank was even HIGHER than on PS4 suggesting that not only are console players as good as PC players, but in this case they are better.
2) Just wait until crossplay comes out. I guarantee you there will be a crap ton of PC players rushing to the forums to complain about the huge spike in SWF groups coming from Xbox and PS. You think SWF is common at red ranks? You have no idea.
3) The OP plays on PC too and is red ranks there too with barely any teachables.

Everyone listed was one do the best players out there, who sink massive amounts of time into the game to be as good as they can, and still have massive, massive issues with how easily abused DS is. If something so easily and commonly used is only ignored by the top 0.01%, it's a problem. If someone sinks more than 8 hours a day into DBD as a way of earning their bread and butter and cannot figure out a way to justify the existence of DS in its current state... It's a problem.
And Tru3 is of the philosophy that there's no real point in NOT running it. It's super, insanely powerful with no downsides. Which makes sense: the perk would be fixed way quicker if every streamer ran, combo'd and abused it every game. He literally goes on rants about how insanely strong it is and how it really needs a nerf since, in his opinion, it's as easy and powerful now as it ever was. And yeah, he does this after mindlessly stabbing the killer. And pointing out he didn't deserve to but got to all the same.
"One of the best players out there"
No they aren't. The are pretty good but far from the best. Pretty much every single one of them will blame the game or sometimes the players for something that is ENTIRELY their own fault.
And True is just a hypocrite if that is his opinion of DS yet he still uses it. It's not actually that necessary as survivor, I play 99% of my games without it and I escape and/or pip majority of my games. To sit there and basically say "I need this" while also saying "this is OP" is being a hypocrite and demonstrating his lack of actual skill in the game.

I agree and respect that. I won't use it for those reasons.
Fungoose, streamer I prefer, doesn't use it either.
Yes Fungoose is one of those players I consider WAY better than any of the ones mentioned previously AND unlike certain hypocrites out there he doesn't use DS nor does he think it's necessary to perform well as survivor. IDK what his opinion about it is, but considering he is one of the few people that are willing to actually admit when they mess up and not blame the game/player I'd lean towards the idea that he thinks DS is fine. When he plays killer he knows how to play around it and he doesn't complain about it either. I have mad respect for that man. Plus he can talk a mile a minute while playing at a very high level, for anyone that's never tried this it takes an INSANE amount of skill to do.

But thay also depends on how the other side plays, if a killer does nothing then you probably wont pip same for survivors.
Honestly they have to do a whole lot of nothing for you to depip. Yea it's possible to safety pip, but my point is that just because you escaped/got kills does not mean you played well. While there are outliers for emblems where you will safety pip despite playing well, in most games it is a reflection of performance. It's a better indicator of skill than escapes/kills, but that's not to say it's perfect.

Almost like your job is to escape or something
What I'm saying is a vast majority of survivors won't do what you guys do. They will go for saves.
Plus I honestly don't consider kills or escapes a win. I consider a pip a win since that's how you rank up. Anyone can hide all game and just rush gens or play for hatch just like anyone can put on a mori and 1 hook tunnel every survivor they find. You're not going to pip from that. Getting a pip actually reflects your skill better than escapes/kills.

Again, even though they were good in chases doesn't mean they didn't play over altruistic. In my 4man if the killers camping we slam gens and punish that.
Yea but that's something you have to force as killer. Very few survivors, especially even fewer SWFs, will just rush gens and leave unless you are an Insid Bubba in the basement staring right at the guy camping. What your group does is the exception not the rule. If they did that, that's punishing me for doing what I'm doing. What is the problem in that?
Furthermore, while you might be escaping and punishing the killer you also punish yourselves. You won't pip for leaving someone to die and running out the gate, you won't get a lot of BP. You escape and deny the killer more kills that's really it.

Or mabye the swf wasn't very good, not insulting you or anything but it's a fair assumption. They were over altruistic and lost.
No these guys were good I just played like a massive jerk is all. The Claud led me on a chase, as Spirit, for a solid 3 gens (mainly because she was Blendette on Coldwind with purple fog so she was hard as ######### to track). They had 1 gen left when I won the game (I forced them into a sort of 3 gen by camping Claud at the basement because there was a gen in shack and 2 more close enough for me to phase). They had the entire meta perk set. They played really well. I just got 2 of them in a bad position and took full advantage of it. If they had done one of those gens instead I don't think I could have won, but I forced them to mess up over and over and won.
I had another game as GF against a 3man (possible 4man, 3 had the same clan tag) on Ironworks. The Ash was REALLY good at looping and super hard to catch. I played like a jerk and tunneled/camped his 2 friends who were gen jockeys and not as good in a chase. I eventually killed them, then caught Ash right after the gate was opened. Steve got out, but I got the 3k on the 3 man clan. Again I won against a solid team by playing like a jerk. Steve almost got caught too. I got a 3k, a solid pip, and like 25k BP. That's a win, is it not?

I agree that you should lose for massive mistakes, my issue is that multiple survivor perks can get you out of losing for those mistakes and the closest killer perk that does that is noed. One perk to a multitude of survivors perks that can turn a game around, some even more so than noed
There are other options. I have a very evil build for Spirit that is basically all the anti-heal perks stacked with MDR/Amulet. No amount of "overpowered" survivor perks can be that, I'm very confident in saying this.
Additionally, you can just play like a massive jerk. Slug, camp, tunnel. When its valid of course, doing it outside of tactical reasons will have you lose.
Case and point I had one game as Spirit where they were trying to bully me. I caught the Claud and put her in shack basement. I camped her, forced an unsafe rescue, slugged her, got the guy that saved, hooked them, camped her and the slug. One tried to save so I slugged him. The last guy was already injured and when I found them, the third guy use Unbreakable. I left the 4th guy, went back and slugged the UB guy again, then caught the last guy trying to make the rescue. GG
I've won a bunch of games I should have lost by just playing super scummy. That's all you gotta do to beat these perks and to a lesser extent SWF.

Personally, the only thing I have against DS is during EGC. DS is strong by itself, but in EGC, it becomes an incredibly powerful tool. It's a pain working around DS and BT during that stage, I've had survivors body block near the gate, to let the others escape, knowing they themselves have DS and I can't do anything about it.
I do agree with you to an extent. When a survivor has DS and waits at the gate just to DS you that's bull #########. But I've said before that if you use DS while the gates are opened you get 20 seconds of a personal Blood Warden just to stop people from being toxic. You'd have to escape another chase to actually get out of the trial.
But everything else about the perk is fine how it is. This isn't even an issue of balance, it's an issue of toxicity.

Sorry but I don't believe you. If you truly have 6k hours in the game then you would know how problematic and abusable DS is. Pretty much everyone has a problem with DS. Ask people like Noob3, Monto, Tru3, Otz, and so on, most will say DS needs changes.
I can confirm he has 6k hours. And he's not even the highest time played on Xbox either, he's like 5th or lower.
Everyone you listed is not actually as good at the game as you think.
"Everybody has a problem with DS" if they are bad at the game ยฏ\_(ใ)_/ยฏ
Also both True and Noob use DS all the time. If they really believed it was a problem then they would abstain from using it.
-
It wouldn't be problematic if you play around it. Don't tunnel. Pay attention to when a survivor was last hooked. Slug. Pressure the group and not just one survivor. Eat DS early if the opportunity presents itself to remove it from play.
Like seriously it's not that hard to beat DS.

Let alone faith in humanity ?
Trying to change people's minds on anything is like trying to fight the tide of the ocean.
I respect your attempt at good faith but I fret it falls on deaf ears or this case a wall. Cause who wins an argument with a wall?
A concept a lot of forum goers here seem to lack in understanding.

I'd prefer if his add-ons had more utility or changed his playstyle a bit. Most pink add-ons do this.
I think a cool pink add-on would be one where he can chainsaw a pallet and keep going. That would be interesting.
-
On Hawkins, Lerys, or even Game you can actually get a lot of benefit from Boiled Over. There are a lot of places for the killer to get caught and the hooks aren't easily seen from tiles away.
-
Obsession perks cause the game to randomly select someone as the obsession at the start of the game. Some perks decrease your chance to be the obsession, others increase it. The only perk that doesn't spawn an obsession at the start is Nemesis I believe.
AFAIK, DS decreases your chance to be the obsession, meaning it was a toss up between you and the other 2 survivors.
-
I don't want Pennywise, Pinhead, or Candyman (thank God it's not him). Jason would be cool but I highly doubt that. I really REALLY want Chuckie but I also highly doubt it's him. IDK there aren't many "good" horror icons left to pick from.

Yea devs have never changed anything in this game at some point because it "was supposed to be like that". Not a very compelling argument.
Well if they haven't changed it yet then it's a completely valid argument actually. If they didn't believe it wasn't supposed to be like that they would have changed it by now, AND they would have removed the loading screen tips that basically tells you that's what you are supposed to do with her.

And again you didn't read my post or else you wouldn't have asked that question.
Sigh.
I'm just going to ignore you at this point, too. Sick of repeating myself every time you try to have a "gotcha" moment on me that I already mentioned and explained.
LOL your post basically states that you don't actually play this game enough to understand how easy it actually is to earn Rift tier through XP. I tell you exactly what I did, I even tracked the XP I earned and it was a little less than 6 shards worth in 6 games. Extrapolate all that, factor in challenges, and one could easily finish the entire Rift in under 100 hours, this being INSANELY generous assuming you are really bad at the game or have to wait more than 5 minutes for a game. I collected actual real life data to prove my point.
You can sit there and do the math all you want because it doesn't actually work out that way in practice. But sure walk away because you have no argument left. Several people now have proven you wrong about how hard it is/long it takes to do the Rift but you'd rather stick your fingers in your ears and continue believing it takes 290 hours. Stop trying to "explain" stuff and prove it like we did.
-
NM and Resil lets you rush gens and hooks so it makes sense you would get both BP and emblems faster. I personally would take off DS and run BT so you can farm hooks. If done right you put the killer in a predicament where they are FORCED to take your hook, because if they choose to chase the guy you saved you will get up on your own. To that end, Deliverance instead of Spine Chill will let you basically be completely independent of other survivors. No need to heal you (which saves a lot of time actually), no need to save you from slugging, no need to save you from a hook. Of course it requires you to avoid being the first chased. DH is another good option since it would act like a health state.

No, you can't confirm nothing. "I saw him do it" proves nothing. Besides, getting 11 tiers in 8 hours (with challenges) is a HELL of a lot different than claiming he did the Rift "in a little over a week". getting 11 tiers in 8 hours is possible, but to complete the Rift in "a little over the week" is impossible. And someone who lies once about something, probably lies twice.
We already did the math with being again, INCREDIBLY generous with it. I already showed my math when I personally did the rift as well so we know with my earlier claim that it is quite in the realm of possibility with what I was claiming earlier.
He made a claim, I did some basic digging into the math, and even without even going too deep and giving the most ridiculous generosity in the math as possible, I could see he was lying. Therefore, he has no credibility. Even if we were to give him two whole weeks, with the generous math, that still leaves a frighteningly scary amount of little wiggle room if you just account for needing to sleep, let alone everything else that was omitted to give the best chance to make it possible like queue times, loading times, ready up times, non-perfect games, etc.
To get a tier per hour, you would need to earn 8,000 XP an hour. This is physically impossible to do without the aid of challenges and even that is pushing it, though ultimately impossible to calculate without knowing how many rift shards will be in the next 3 tiers from the challenges themselves but with having to deal with queue times, ready up times, and loading times, as well as each game unable to be perfectly efficient, I very highly doubt it's possible to do the Rift in just 2 hours a day, even with completing every single challenge unless the amount of rift shards given per challenge completion is considerably high (in the ball park of around 100 rift shards per tier, give or take), which I've yet to see a tome tier actually give 100+ rift shards from challenges alone.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1263342#Comment_1263342
10 minute games do not give you 600 XP. They give you 500 XP, the soft cap. 600 XP from game time is the hard cap. And in reality, even if you could get 600 XP per 10 minutes, in reality, you still couldn't do it in a week because again, queue times, ready up times, and loading up times exist which I omitted from the calculation to both, be generous, but also to prove how ridiculous your claim was. You'd still have to never eat, sleep, or take a break at all to even have a chance. The only other explanation was that you literally cheated with a bot to play and enter games for you while you slept, but if not, then it is impossible for you to have done it in "a little over a week".
I've played a 45 minute long game (approximately) before. Still only got 592 XP. My longest game of 2 hours (hatch standoffs were fun btw) gave me 597 XP. These are not counting emblem XP (which is a mere 1~2 XP per emblem point you earn)
Getting the hard cap of 600 XP in 10 minutes is physically impossible and is simply not how the game works. You can't just make up false statements and argue with cognitive dissonance to try and prove your false narrative because all someone has to do is test out your claim themselves to know that what you're saying is impossible. Anyone could go into a game right now, play for 10 (or even slightly longer) minutes, and see that they would not get 600 XP as you claim, aside from the fact that it's already fairly well documented. Please, just stop making stuff up.
Unlike you, I did do the math. That's how I figured out your statement that you did the Rift in "a little over a week" is complete bull, even with being ridiculously generous with the estimates. You threw out a random low time frame to white knight the Rift and got caught lying and proven wrong with basic math, even with my being incredibly generous with said math that your claim is impossible.
The only exception would be if you started late on the Rift with all 4 tiers available, but then is that really doing it in a week? Did you not play DBD at all for nearly an entire two months? I find that hard to believe as well. Even still, again, you would be pushing it incredibly tight if you so much slept, let alone all the other issues I keep saying exist.
Just move on already, please. You're cannot convince me that the Rift is fine by making bold-faced claims that are literally impossible and making up false information to try and "prove me wrong" even though anyone can easily go and test themselves that it's impossible to get 600 XP in 30 minutes, much less 10. All you've done is achieve the opposite effect by being apparently so desperate to white knight the Rift that you needed to lie.
I'm out. This discussion has run its course.
Except he did it on stream which you can watch. I'll leave it up to him if he wants to give that information.
We played 6 games together in about 2 hours, we could have had 10 but we were wasting a lot of time between games (15 minutes at one point). I got 5 almost 6 Rift fragments on XP alone, and we had a killer DC in 1 game which would have been the extra XP to get a full 6. That means I could have gotten 10 Rift fragments in about 2 hours of playing as survivor. We did the math on the Rift and you can get 42 full tiers from JUST the challenges, leaving 28 tiers you need to earn XP. If it takes 2 hours to get 10 Rift fragments, extrapolate that and it means 56 hours just to get the XP needed to finish the Rift outside of challenges. If we assume you do majority of that time while doing challenges, you could VERY EASILY complete all 70 tiers on the Rift in under 80 hours of playing.
Also I love how you say "11 tiers in 8 hours is possible" but then go on to say you couldn't finish the Rift in under a week. If you extrapolate that time, it would take about 60 hours to complete the Rift, which is entirely possible in a week. Your statements are contradictory. What is it? Can he do it or can't he?
-
Agreed.
DS isn't a problem if you are a good killer. If you play like a bot though...

I've never seen this tip while loading into the game.
Holy crap, so standing still is intentionally added into the game by the devs?
Yes.
There are like 50 different loading screen tips. Maybe more. I've only seen this one like twice ever, I took a screenshot the second time I saw it.

"there is NO INDICATOR of whether she is phasing or not"
There's not supposed to be. No use complaining.
Here's proof.
This is an intentional feature of Spirit. She's supposed to be confusing.
If you want to beat this, assume she is both phasing and standing still when you see her stop. You will see what you need to do that counters both at the same time.

Hey sui, if you are who I think you are(old Gears player?)
I don't think a freebie per day is good. I think the server should notice if you disconnected or quit out, maybe account that as the "freebie." I know a lot of people rage quit without thinking, it takes an extra several steps to get up and unplug your router/ethernet cable from the back of your computer, unless you play prepared to DC at any moment.
But that's just another can of worms I'd rather not open. If I DC from a game on accident I usually just take a break, come back later. I think that's a fair thing for everyone to do, but not everyone will do it. And you only get the penalty when you DC after the match starts. I've been disconnected in the loading screen and received no penalty. I find the majority of accidental DC's happen in the loading screen. The majority of DC's in-game are mostly intentional disconnects.
Yes I am that Gears player. Also just call me Fox.
The only reason I think we should get 1 freebie before the DC penalty takes effect is because I've already had 2 games (out of maybe 50) where I just got booted from the game for no reason, but still got a DC penalty. It just seems unfair to punish players when it's the servers problem. And its infrequent enough that a freebie a day is acceptable.

Sorry but I find that very, very hard to believe, when many streamers who play this game at least 8~12 hours a day still took at least a few weeks to finish their rifts.
The math just doesn't line up.
It takes 800 EXP to get one rift shard, and it takes 10 minutes in game to get 500 XP (the soft cap; any longer means you lose efficiency, any shorter also means you lose efficiency). Which means, in the best case scenario every time, not even counting queues, or loading, or just sitting ready in the lobby, it would take 2 perfect games of 20 minutes to get 1,000 XP. We can basically chalk this up to about 3,000 XP an hour, so 3,000 XP an hour best case scenario which is VERY unrealistic but let's just give it the benefit of the doubt.
That's 3.75 rift shards an hour. We need 10 to go up a single tier.
Let's say you did all of the challenges in the first tome as well -- didn't even do them; they were all just completed, which was about 80 rift tiers -- which is actually a very generous estimate as well, by the way. 8 rift tiers, so 62 to go. That means we need to get 496,000 XP. We're making 3,000 XP an hour in the best case scenario. So we divide 3,000 by the 496,000 to get the number of hours it would take us to do the Rift.
In this case, even if we got the first tome challenges done for free, giving this the BEST possible scenario which is incredibly unrealistic, it would still take 165 hours out of the 168 hours in a week to do if you never slept, if you never ate, if you never took a break, you had absolutely perfect games, with absolutely no queue times, no ready up time, no loading times, if it was just pure match time of absolutely perfect games.
I very, very, VERY highly doubt that is what happened and therefore I do not believe you.
I can confirm that @ill_Boston_lli went up 11 tiers in less than 8 hours of playing.
Fact is you should be earning about 1 tier per hour of playing. AT WORST 1 tier per 90 minutes. We both tested this and you can easily do it that fast, survivor or killer.
That means it would take, at most, about 100 hours of playtime to do the Rift JUST from XP alone. This doesn't even factor in challenges, which would cut off about 30 hours at least.
If you play about 2 hours a day on average, you should have no problem completing the Rift with time to spare.
Also your argument about big streamers struggling is unsubstantiated. Most of the big streamers outright buy the entire Rift day 1. True and Puppers were both sporting Rift cosmetics on day 1. That means completing the Rift is irrelevant to them. This besides the fact that they should definitely, 100% be completing the Rift way early if they actually play that much.

How bad would it be to learn to play around it because there is nothing actually wrong with the perk?

The hitboxes on that TF2 character are exactly what the game should have. The giant red box/blue box is a perfect example of what -not- to do in games like this. Look how much space that blue box has to work with, most of which doesn't even touch the actual model. Ridiculous.
Then you just give small characters an advantage over large ones. Anyone that plays Bill will be at a massive disadvantage compared to anyone that plays Feng.
And no there is no way to make those two hitboxes the same. Hence why the devs go with pill hitboxes, because it's universal and independent of the size of the character.
There is also the issue of animations affecting hitboxes. If the hitboxes were as you suggest, then you could miss because the survivor was doing a specific animation. That's a problem if survivors can change directions faster than killers and cancel certain animations instantly. Imagine throwing a hatchet at someone, they do the pointing animation, and it misses, they cancel it and keep going. That's basically what could happen.

heres an example that will be the last chance I give you before I stop trying to make you understand
Hitscan and projectiles can share the same hitbox (shocker) a good example of how deathslingers weapon functions is a projectile that affects the smaller hitbox, not the splash hitbox (bigger hitbox) that huntress effects. Just because I used the phrase hitscan hitbox doesnt mean I think that the PROJECTILE THAT I LITERALLY STATED ABOVE MOVES AT 40m/s is a hitscan it just uses the same sized hitbox as if it was. Also not every word is wishy washy because that means it was exactly as I said because in the exact post you are showing it says AFFECTS THE HITBOXES AS IF IT WERE A HITSCAN as in its not a hitscan but affects the hitboxes as if it were a hitscan (double shocker)
Hitscan weapons don't fire actual projectiles. When you shoot an AK47 in COD, for example, there are no real bullets in flight. The game does a raycast from the origin of the shot (in this case your camera) and draws a literal line from that point forward. If it intersects with an object, it stop there and hits that object. If that object is another player, it registers as a hit and damages them. This is done instantaneously. In real life, a target about 300m away would get hit by the bullet about a half second after you fired it. In a video game, it hits the next frame after you pull the trigger (1/60th of a second), and the distance is irrelevant. It could be 1m it could be 1000m, it still hits at the same time.
Only a few games don't use hitscan and use actual projectiles for every weapon. Battlefield and Halo 3 come to mind. You fire a sniper shot in BF there is travel time and gravity, so you have to account for that. In Halo 3, bullets were actual objects in the game and thus not hitscan/raycasts. They do this for realism and to have more control over the weapon's functionality, but it is also more resource intensive since the system has to render the bullets instead of just drawing a line. AFAIK Halo 3 was the only game in the Halo series to have done this, and if you play Halo 3 at all you would know the BR was a bit janky at range purely because it fired actual projectiles.
That all said, a weapon cannot be both hitscan/raycast AND projectile at the same time. They have conflicting properties. If a hatchet were hitscan it would just fly across the map instantly and register as a hit. If you add in a projectile to "confirm" the hit all that does is make the hitscan portion pointless, because the hitscan and projectile will strike an object at 2 different times. If the survivor is standing still this isn't a problem, but survivors move. So hitscan would say "hit" and then the survivor moves, 2 seconds later the projectile says "miss" now which would be correct? It makes more sense for it to be a projectile since it's meant to have a travel time. Deathslinger's spear too, even though it moves faster and straighter than a hatchet, it still has a noticeable travel time.
-
I'd like to see what your alternative solution is to pill hitboxes.
And I can assure you that any solution you provide will have some jank to it as well. Truth is there is no perfect solution to hitboxes, there is only the one with the least amount of jank (which would be pill hitboxes).
Also as @Peanits said, most of the issues people have with "hitboxes" is actually latency.

"Yes because putting something in someones food is assault, IDC how you try to slice it. For all he knows it could have killed the guy. Mistake or not, good intentions or not, it's a crime. Thinking he knew what it was does not excuse anything, especially when it's evident he didn't know what it was."
You keep quoting the law like that makes it right. Life is not black and white like legal definitions Of course thinking that he knew is an excuse, and a valid one. If you do something believing you know its ok it is not remotely the same as using something and being clueless as to what it will do and just taking a blind chance on it. One is doing something you think is going to be ok, and one is not having any idea if it is but still doing it anyway. They are not remotely the same.
"Court is not the place to speak your mind. It's the place where justice is carried out. Just like the side of the street while the cop is writing you a ticket is not the place to contest the ticket. You take the ticket, and go to court. That's called due process."
There you go again quoting the law like the outcome of these laws is ok. Imagine putting someone in a jail cell just because they spoke out of turn in a court room. Using a jail cell that could be used to house a real criminal instead. But because it didn't follow the "due process" a person deserves to be thrown behind bars. Laughable.
"There is nothing absurd about it. If you do something that results in someone getting hurt or killed you are liable. That's just how it is.
And it doesn't matter how harmless you think something is, you have no idea how someone may react to it. If the guy was allergic to the chemical he could have died."
It must be great to live in your world where everything is so black and white. If someone gets hurt because of your actions, there is a world of difference between intent to cause that harm and not. Even courts take that into consideration. You comparing shooting someone to this situation is absurd on every level. In absolutely no scenario is willingly shooting a person not going to result in harm. Whereas many drugs are harmless. Simple as that.
"Like I get he is your favorite character but you seriously can't sit there and deny he committed assault and was a complete dick."
I do deny it. 100%. Whether you agree or not is your choice. But making a mistake and unintentionally causing harm does not make someone a dick. Period.
Anyway this is my last response on this. We're just repeating ourselves and derailing the topic of this thread. But you can take my word the fandom's perception of Dwight has not changed in a negative way. Count on it.
See you in the fog of the forums.
You seem to be under the impression that the law is never right. It's actually right quite often. Sometimes the law gets it wrong, but those are rare cases. This would not be one of those cases. Intent to cause harm or not, what Dwight did was completely dickish. You don't go around putting stuff in people's food, law or not, that is a complete dick thing to do. He could have killed the guy, and if he did intentions wouldn't save him. The only thing that would do is lessen the punishment. If you drive a car drunk and kill someone, you didn't intend to harm anyone, but you were reckless, still broke the law, and therefore you will get punished. You are still in the wrong no matter how you want to justify it. "But I can't afford a taxi" ... "but it's the company car and it was a long drive home, I can't just leave it there"... doesn't matter. You are still wrong.
I really don't get why you want to defend his actions so much. He is 100% in the wrong. Intention means nothing here, he put something in someone's food purposely to get some kind of revenge on them. That is a dickish thing to do, AND it is breaking the law.
"Imagine putting someone in a jail cell just because they spoke out of turn in a court room."
Because that disrupts due process. The courts don't want to put you in a jail cell for courtroom outbursts, but what other recourse do they have? Everyone has the right to due process. Despite what you think, the justice system works majority of the time, and the reason for that is due process. In countries without due process, there are FAR MORE people put in jail for crimes they didn't commit. Because they lack the right of due process, the judge can just kind of do whatever they want with them.
Imagine you are in court for a crime you didn't commit, and the person's mother gets up and screams "HE DID IT HE IS GUILTY GIVE HIM THE CHAIR!!!" And the judge goes "you know what she is right, chair it is!" *slams gavel* That's basically what you are asking for here.
"I do deny it. 100%. Whether you agree or not is your choice. But making a mistake and unintentionally causing harm does not make someone a dick. Period."
So you're saying that putting something in someone's food, not ACTUALLY knowing what it was, for the sole purpose of getting revenge on said person is not being a dick? Those are some massive hoops to jump through to reach that conclusion. You use the words "mistake" and "unintentional harm" as a way to justify his actions, but that doesn't actually change anything. He is still liable for his mistakes, and whether he intended harm or not, he caused it (especially because the guy beat up someone).
He. Was. A. Dick. End of story. It doesn't matter if he thought the drug was harmless, doing that is a dick move. I guarantee if someone put ex-lax in your food and made you ######### yourself at work, you would call them a dick. "Well I did it because you got my friend fired." You'd still call them a dick. And you would still file an assault charge. I guarantee it.

Lery's has the most crows outside of crow bombs on swamp maps.
If you play any killer that has good builds for Lery's I would do it there. Doing the crow bombs as killer isn't a great idea. First, survivors often set them off first, especially if you are chasing them and they run there. Second, you give away your position a lot more if you are doing crow bombs. As survivor, swamp maps would probably be the best.

"This may be true sometimes, but not in this case. There are examples of people doing something similar and getting assault charges and jail time."
You're missing the point. That doesn't make it right. You think because the law punishes something that makes it justified. There's examples of people being jailed just for speaking their mind in court. They call it contempt. Its ridiculous. But by your logic its right just because the law says so.
"If it was ex-lax, maybe. Considering he didn't really know what it was and the effect it had he would have probably had the book thrown at him."
Read the lore for yourself. He thought he knew what it was, or rather what effect it would have. He was certain that its effects were harmless.
"You are right that a mistake doesn't make someone a dick. But putting an unknown chemical into someone's food without actually knowing what it will do is being a dick. For all he knows it could have killed the guy."
But it wasn't an unknown chemical. He didn't take it and have no idea what it would do. He thought he knew exactly what it would do. He had no idea there was any risks involved in it at all. Again this is all in his lore. H thought he was going to make his boss laugh so hard and pee his pants in front of everyone.
"There's a thing in law where if you commit a crime and someone gets hurt, then you are liable. Break into a home with your friend to steal a TV, and then the homeowner shoots your friend, you get charged with murder. I don't see any exception here."
Oh I'm not saying Dwight is not ultimately responsible for what happened. At the end of the day it was a result of his actions. But the fact is he had no idea it would happen. Even the law takes circumstances like that into account.
You keep making absurd analogies. You shoot anyone, whether its in your home or not, is going to have one outcome. Someone gets hurt. Shooting people only has one effect. Whereas drugs come in all forms, including harmless ones. Which Dwight thought he was using. You can't compare to willingly shooting someone.
"You think because the law punishes something that makes it justified."

Sorry but this argument has no legal merit, and the law is 100% right in this case. He put something in his drink, that constitutes assault. He didn't know what it really was, which makes it even more egregious. Period end of story.
Like I get he is your favorite character but you seriously can't sit there and deny he committed assault and was a complete dick.

You should get 1 freebie maybe to account for game crashes or server issues. But this game desperately needs a DC penalty, it's just ridiculous how much some people quit if you let them. You almost wonder if they ever even finish a full game.

Yeah because the law is always right isn't it. I mean the law can jail people for jaywalking. The law can jail people for speaking out of turn in a courtroom. The laws are clearly infallible.
"Still does not warrant assault though."
I disagree. For what Dwight had in mind he would have gotten off lightly, too. Not what ended up actually happening. Which again was never intended. A mistake does not make someone a dick or a bad person.

Yes it is a valid excuse. If you believed no actual harm would come, then it is valid.
A lot of minor things are classed as a crime by the law. And to compare punishing someone for stealing your lunch, to punishing someone who frames innocent people and gets them fired is a ridiculous analogy. Dwight's boss was a criminal who hurt innocent people. And even then all Dwight thought he was doing was humiliating him by causing him to laugh and pee his pants.
I agree you should trust the people you buy drugs from. That was Dwight's error. He thought what he was using was safe. That doesn't make him a dick. It doesn't make him a bad person. He simply made a mistake. He went in with no intentions to try and hurt his boss or anyone else.

It does actually.
A good person would gather evidence of this person's crime and report them to the authorities.
A dick/bad person would put something in their coffee to make them pee not knowing exactly what it was and causing massive hallucinations that could inflict potential severe psychological damage.

Two things, and don't read if you don't want any spoilers;
- His boss was an evil corrupt a-hole who was always losing the company money, and in order to avoid getting the blame he would frame innocent employees for it, and get them fired. The latest victim was a friend of Dwight's, who was a single mom.
- The 'drug' Dwight put in his boss' drink was something Dwight was told was totally harmless and would simply make his boss laugh so hard he'd pee his pants in front of everyone. Dwight had no idea it would do what it did, hence the look of shock on his face at the end of the video. He just wanted to humiliate the guy in front of everyone. Small payback for all the people his boss had hurt.
Yeah Dwight made a screw up, but in no way does it make him a dick or a bad person.
Still not a valid excuse.
It's actually crime to do what he did. If you have a fellow employee stealing your lunch, for example, and to punish them you put ex-lax in your food, something that would just make him poop a lot, you can be charge with assault for that and go to jail. If he got found out, no judge would care that he didn't know what it was he put in and that might actually make the judge come down on him even harder for being so reckless.
Also important lessen kids. Trust the people you buy your drugs from. Not condoning anything, just making a blanket statement about safety rule #1.

Pig and Hag are the coolest killers.
LOL Pig and Hag. Not in my circles. Pigs tend to be the most toxic and tryhard players that will target specific players. And Hags are just... awful to play against. They are usually super campy just to spite survivors.
You have a good point about Steve.
Feng goes either way, it depends on the cosmetics she runs.
