Dwight is not a dick in the rift. Read his whole story before judging.
He...
put some kind of drug into his bosses coffee. IDC how awful your boss is, that is straight up assault. There is no justification for that.
-
For killers... probably Myers. A lot of killers seem to have gotten into this game JUST because he is in the game. Of all the killers, Myers has had probably the least complaints about him from survivors. Most survivor even enjoy playing against him the most.
For survivors... Dwight, Bill, Jake, or Steve seem to be the most liked. They are all pretty wholesome and don't have any stigma's attached to them like other survivors. Bills especially make me laugh pretty much every time they are in my killer games.
However after seeing how much of a dick Dwight is in his Rift animatic I think perspectives might change on him soon.

But if there the best player you'll be wasting your time
Depends on the situation. If you have a chance to take out the best player you take it. But you don't throw the game for it, in those cases you go for the weaklings and take them out first. It's strategy.
The opportunity to kill the best player has to be there for you to be able to pull it off. If you catch them first and before too many gens are done, it would be smart to tunnel them when they are most vulnerable, or maybe camp them to stage 2 at least to ensure that they don't go for any risky plays later and/or that you can take them out quickly if you find them again. Once they are dead the win should be almost guaranteed.
Hence the phrase "cut off the head of the snake".

If we got a Child's Play chapter, everyone would go mad if it wasn't chucky. Tiffany just doesn't have the same effect on people that chucky does
And people always complain about Chucky being too small to hook survivors and stuff.
There are ways around that. I've suggested plenty of times to have the ghost of Charles Lee Ray appear around the doll and mimic the actions so that they can use the standard killer model for pick up interactions. It would basically be like he "grows" when picking up a survivor but in a very cool way.
In fact I have a whole design written down for how Chucky would work, power and perks and add-ons and all. I'd post it but I'm sure people would just shoot it down like they do everything on these forums.
Can't have anything nice. 😒
-
I will tunnel someone if...
1) I'm forced to. Either because the game is going too fast and I need to create pressure or because other survivors are hiding too much and I can't spend the time looking for them.
2) They have a key. It's a smart tactical move to take out this player ASAP. Most survivors bring either a ward or key ring so the key will get removed from the game when they die.
3) They do something stupid like purposely force me to eat their DS early in the game. When they do this it's like, what was the point? Because now I can tunnel you out of the game at no penalty. Basically punishing DS users for their mistakes.
4) They are a really good survivor and I need to "cut off the head of the snake". Taking out the best player early is a smart tactic.
5) They are a Blendette. I HATE BLENDETTES. Both as killer and survivor. Worthless POS all of them.
-
Jaime would be overpowered. Adam seems more reasonable.
It would be cool to see Samuel L Jackson in the game. IDGAF what side, just want to hear him say "motha #########" a bunch.

IMHO, as a Spirit main, Prayer Beads are pretty worthless now. They are a gimmick. Before they were OP yes, but there was a lot of interesting things you could do that I miss. Specifically using Prayer Beads and Insidious was hella fun. Just stand somewhere and survivors have no clue what's happening.
If I could go back and change it I would have kept Prayer Beads the same but remove the ability to grab or lunge out of phase walk and increase the distance where you could hear her footsteps. That keeps them as a strong, viable, non-gimmicky add-on but removes the actual overpowered part which is free hits and free gen grabs. It would be more about stealth and getting close to survivors before they can react to get an edge in a chase, not about yoinking people without even trying.

Because in a custom game, the survivors and the killer know each other and can choose to farm bloodpoints whenever they want. In a SWF group, you can try to farm, but if the killer isn't having it, you're just going to wind up dead. We don't want everyone to hang out in private lobbies farming points instead of playing the actual game.
This is why custom games have everything unlocked by default. This way if you're just looking to play with friends, you still have everything available to you in spite of not being able to earn points.
The problem is that sometimes survivor ques are so long people just want to play but not if they aren't getting anything.
I think @NMCKE has a good point that there could be some kind of daily limit, such that you'd be allowed to play a handful of KYF games a day and get rewarded for it, but stop any kind of extreme BP farming and taking away from the public pool of players. I would say that in addition, all BP offerings should be disabled in KYF so that if you want to farm for BP it would end up being really grindy and not worth your time compared to the normal game. This would make it so that KYF is a viable alternative in those times of need when players want to play but don't want to play without any rewards at all.
Like I find it impossible to ever convince any of my friends to play some KYF if even just for fun because they always say "but I'm not earning BP/challenges/whatever". Not saying you should earn challenges, just that no one wants to play private games like that, it's almost like a useless feature (but don't take it away 🙏). The only time my friends and I even use KYF is to test out things in a controlled environment.

The problem with the Nun as a killer is that she is actually some kind of demon that took the form of a nun for... whatever reason IDK I never watched the movies just quickly skimmed the wiki. I'm not sure if the Entity would be cool with that. Yes Demo is in the game, but Demo is just a creature from another dimension not a demon or something kind of thing that could potentially rival the Entity. It's more of a dog let off the leash.

How is it a free achievement if he already killed 3 people? If anything it's 25% off LOL!
Tombstoning 3 =/= tombstoning 4, unless the science people changed math recently.

I think the problem is you sound like an ######### when most people would emphatize over someone trying to get an achievement that is incredibly annoying and frustrating to get because you need to burn Ultra Rare Add-ons, basically play like crap the whole game, hope you are versing potatoes, to get a chance of getting this achievement.
It feels very stand-offish. Like you're entitled to the achievement but no one else does because they didn't go through what you went through. Sounds very elitist.
Not everyone has your mindset, and not everyone will. Some of us will understand that some things like Evil Incarnate is just truly evil and we would gladly help people get over it so they can finally have it in their collection. Not all of us are very selfish in the way we play. Even if it's letting EGC kill us when Killer wants to give us hatch.
LOL right I AM THE ELITIST! For expecting others to earn an achievement.
"I think the problem is you sound like an [BAD WORD] when most people would emphatize over someone trying to get an achievement that is incredibly annoying and frustrating to get because you need to burn Ultra Rare Add-ons, basically play like crap the whole game, hope you are versing potatoes, to get a chance of getting this achievement."
The difficulty of said achievement is not my problem. It is YOUR problem. If you want to waste your time trying to get it, that has nothing to do with me. I don't empathize for anyone asking for free achievements.
Seriously 1.0 in Gears of War 1 (not Ultimate Edition, 1) is a hard ass achievement to get. You need 10,000 kills in RANKED games. I gave up on it when I found out that your kills do not count if a player quits the game, which is such a frequent thing I'm surprised ANYONE ever got this achievement. I have every other Seriously achievement in every game from 2-4, including Seriously 3.0 LEGIT which is probably an even harder achievement (but less dependent on other players). That said, I'm not going to blame other players for quitting and denying me my achievement, accusing them of just being spiteful, when it is the way the achievement works ITSELF that is the problem.
If you guys want to be mad at anyone, be mad at BHVR for making such a stupid achievement. As someone said, if mori's would count then they could just put on JT and a mori and it wouldn't be nearly as much of a problem to get.
Don't hate the player, hate the game.

1 if you didnt do gens and escape (which is survivors offical objective) you failed just as well as a killer not getting a 4k.
2 with hatch your given a free escape where you could have just hid the entire game and waited for your team to die to get the hatch (this happened a bit with the rift hatch challenge id have teammates who would just not help wait for us to die then grab hatch definitely not earned when i looped the killer and did gens)
3 no but they all have the main objective of doing gens and surviving if everyone plays selfish the team falls apart which is when the killer should be at their strongest they are at their weakest when the survivors actually work together.
4. Your right but survivors already sometimes do that as the last 2 and just hide which is a bannable offense accodding to the devs and should just trigger the egc instantly after like 5 minutes of a gen not being even tapped.
5. Actually im a survivor main rank 1 actually and rank 7 killer yet ive gotten here by not being a jerk. And of course the egc should favor killer considering he found the hatch first you lost your free chance of escape (which like i said isnt earned anyway this is why i think keys need a fix since you could just do 2 gens have a survivor die find the hatch and press r1 for free escape but im not gonna do moris and keys discussion here.
I can't exactly do 5 gens by myself. If I am solo and get matched with 3 potatoes, I basically get punished for other people's mistakes. Right, that sounds fair.
"Free escape" LOL I love when people make this statement. It's only a free escape if they killer let's it be a free escape. You can either slug for the 4k (which most killers do), or, if hatch has spawned, close the hatch. When I have 2 survivors left and they did 3 or more gens, I go looking for hatch, so that when I find a survivor I can kill them, rush to hatch, and close it. Now we are in EGC and I have a massive advantage, the survivor basically has to stealth me while also opening a door which, given how close doors often spawn, is almost guaranteed not to happen.
Also it's only bannable if it is egregious. That whole thing is very fuzzy. If there are 3 gens super close to each other and survivors are hiding while the killer is patrolling them then it's not actually bannable because the killer is protecting the gens. If the killer ######### off to some corner of the map and goes AFK, allowing ample freedom to do the gens and they STILL hide, then yes that's bannable. But I've NEVER actually seen or heard of this happening, it's a fictitious event as every time at least 1 survivor will get found at some point, which then means they are dead, which then means hatch is available. If they still refuse to leave, close hatch now there is no more hostage situation.
You guys can gang up on me all you want, doesn't change the fact you are basically asking for a free achievement. No one owns you anything.

In my mind, while I read this, I pictured you crossing your arms and plopping down on the ground like my nephew does when he doesn't get what he wants. I mean, I feel like your conviction for your point here comes from so many other places than people getting this trophy. It's like you've had killers tell you, 'tunneling and camping is in the game, and the devs are ok with it, deal with it.' and now you have this opportunity to harness that same attitude, just for the sake of it, and you do it. Like, what is in it for you to prevent someone from getting a trophy? Why wouldn't you want someone to get a trophy, when the game is ending, you're going to die, they clearly won?
I play killer quite a lot, at red ranks so not sure where you are coming from.
"Like, what is in it for you to prevent someone from getting a trophy?"
Because....
YOU
DID
NOT
EARN
IT
Why am I the bad guy for not handing you an easy achievement? Why do I need to do ANYTHING you want me to do?
I've literally ran away from hatch when the killer wanted me to hatch. IDGAF if he wants me to take hatch, if I don't want it I don't want it. There's nothing else to it. I've let EGC kill me when the killer wanted me to escape.
Truth is I don't have to do anything the other player wants me to do. I never expect survivors to do what I want when I'm killer. If they do, cool. If they don't well I just do something else with them.
"Do you get that much satisfaction out of crossing your arms, and plopping on the ground, and whining until you get your way?"
The irony with this statement is very very strong.

So again as I said the killer doesn't "deserve" the achievement simply" because" but i also pointed out the fact that the survivor is clearly doing this out of spite. even the reason you listed in your response "No, because it's their problem. If I can die in a way that denies my opponent points, to punish them for a mistake" is exactly my point, its out of spite.
You may argue for or against if you think its morally right or right in the context of the game all you want( I really care not what your stance on such a matter is, and that's not my point) the fact still remains its done out of spite.
It's not out of spite. I don't have to do anything the killer wants me to do. It doesn't matter what it is. I've had killers want to farm and just said "no" rushed gens, didn't give hooks, and left.
Why is the survivor obligated to do anything you want, and why is it that if they don't do it for whatever reason it's "spiteful"?
Again, hiding in the locker and waiting to die to EGC might give enough time for them to earn silver Unbroken, which at red ranks is the difference between a depip and a safety pip usually. They also get BP for being inside the killer's TR. So it's not like they don't have ulterior motives to avoid being instantly killed even if the game is effectively over.

Also im gonna use your earn it logic. Do survivors even deserve to have a hatch in this game do they deserve it since a good team can escape easily? If i 3k you aka your team played bad and should lose do you deserve to find something with rng and get a free escape? Did you earn it when the killer has like 3 hooked your entire team?
1) If you 3k you didn't 4k.
2) Without hatch, you basically are given a 4k when you didn't actually get a 4k.
3) Survivors are not a team.
4) Without hatch, survivors would just hide and you'd be stuck in a hostage situation, so be thankful it exists as a means to end the game somehow.
5) Closing hatch and EGC completely favors the killer. If you are really going to complain about that, it suggests a lot about how good of a killer you are.

The killer played the whole game handicapped (because judith's makes you slower) and any decent team would genrush tf out of tombstone myers. Yet he still got a 3k and the 4th is just denying it out of spite that they got outplayed seems fair...she is gonna die anyway so yes she should just give it to him because he did earn it. I tried this in red ranks and all the survivors would do is interactions or hide in lockers to make me useless so i know how this feels.
Again, it's a "you" problem. They are under no obligation to give you anything, and you can't be mad at survivors for doing something to counter what you are trying to do.
Not to mention the fact that all it takes is 1 survivor to feed him and then the entire team is screwed. I wouldn't say he earned anything until he actually earned it.
"Oh man I won the bowling tournament but my last bowl I hit down 9 pins and made the last one wiggle a bit, they should totally just count that as a strike because I would have won anyway and I was really close I deserved that strike so I could get my picture put on the wall with the other players that scored 300."
No, you didn't. If you got the strike then you deserved the strike. This is how everyone defending the OP sounds.

EGC yet you stay in a locker, I fail to see the "smart move" here.
While its true no killer "deserve" the achievement simply because they feel so, this survivor is clearly doing this just to spite the fact the OP is doing an achievement/build.
You failed to tombstone everyone.
For some reason you also closed the hatch.
Now the last survivor dies to EGC.
It's not their fault you didn't get the achievement. They don't have to die by the way you want them to die. They have every right to go out on their own terms if death is inevitable.
Are you also saying I should just crawl out in the open and let the killer hook me if I'm slugged on the ground as the last survivor, with EGC ticking, when it was THEIR FAULT to lose me in the first place? Just so they can get a merciless victory and the adept achievement?
No, because it's their problem. If I can die in a way that denies my opponent points, to punish them for a mistake, I am going to do it because it's their fault they didn't track me to put me on a hook. Just like it is their fault they didn't tombstone me.

You literally promote toxicity with this comment. You promote the game hosting by a survivor.
Correction of your message: not harder, impossible and toxic.
Don't try to hide the toxicity saying it's fun to ruin the experience of someone who spent several hours level up a character just to get 2 chances of their last archievement over all in 1400 hours.
This sounds entirely like a "you" problem and isn't the responsibility of your opponents to give you add-ons or tell you what to do with your time.
Don't forget the people you are playing against might be going for an adept achievement, or maybe the "don't get hit and escape as the last person" obsession achievement. Your goals and your fun do not supersede theirs. If you want to stress over every single achievement that's a "you" problem.

Your argument of not depipping by hiding in a locker is an extremely weak one. The Myers could easily get annoyed and grab and hook you, he could even let you wiggle, or repeatedly drop you until it forces you off his shoulder and then down you, or pull you out of the locker again and hook you. Nothing Unbroken about that. But see, this is weak because now you're talking about hypothetical factors and have forced me to talk about hypothetical factors. It's weak sauce stuff.
My original example is based on reality. 4 scenarios, and only one of them does the survivor escape. And that's the hatch. It doesn't take a genius to see there's a difference. I'm not going to argue with you about how 2+2=4. I'm not going to sit here and try to convince an Arab that snow is cold. Have a good one, and keep up the spite I guess.
Nothing hypothetical, I'm making the point that your goals do not supersede the goals of the other player. Also the point that regardless of how you want to word it, you are asking for a handout. You don't deserve the achievement if you didn't tombstone everyone. IT IS THAT SIMPLE.
If the Myers gets annoyed and hooks me then oh well. But if he wants his achievement THAT BAD he is willing to wait until EGC kills me I might as well just wait and secure a pip. If he wants to try some BS to get a tombstone on me, sure fine go ahead. Gives me a chance to escape and therefore it's smart to wait in the locker and force him to make a choice.
"You argument is weak" is exactly what I say about anyone thinking they deserve to tombstone you if you are hiding in a locker. No you don't deserve it.

Just because both sentences have the word "give" doesn't mean they're the same. That's not how it works. The English language is more diverse and complicated than that. As I previously stated, only ONE of those scenarios changes the overall outcome of the match, and you did nothing to refute that fact besides literally just repeat the comment I quoted in slightly different formatting.
1) It is the same as asking for hatch because you are asking for someone else to give you something you don't deserve. If you are going to ask survivors to let you tombstone them then you are asking for a handout. It's that simple. Might as well just go the full nine yards and message them before the game asking to farm.
2) It's not actually the same outcome. One outcome they die to EGC, another they get tombstoned. If that 2 minute timer is the difference between a bronze and silver Unbroken then it's definitely not the same outcome. One situation the guy gets a safety pip/pip, another he gets a depip/safety pip. At red ranks getting bronze Unbroken is almost always going to be a depip.
There is nothing to refute. Asking for the other player to do something for you they might not want to do is asking for handouts. Dying to EGC is not the same as dying to tombstone is not the same as dying to a hook. If I wasn't hooked all game, then everyone is dead and the killer finds me, chances are I am dead. But I'm still going to run to deny them their BBQ stack and to get more Evader points to get a pip. It's not my obligation to give you anything, if you want an achievement here is an idea...
EARN IT
EDIT: And for the record, none of you asking the survivor for the achievement care about what they might be trying to do. Maybe they have to escape as last survivor and obsession without getting hit. Maybe they needed to do the gen in bathroom on Game and escape. Maybe they are going for adept whoever. There are a million reasons why they don't have to give you your achievement. I seriously doubt any of you would give them anything if they asked and didn't actually earn it. You can sit there and tell me you would, but we all know that's a lie.

Giving hatch changes the result of the match. Giving an achievement doesn't.
Scenario A: I don't give hatch and get a 4K
Scenario B: I DO give hatch and get a 3K
Scenario C: You stay inside locker and die to EGC I get a 4K
Scenario D: You exit the locker and get Tombstoned and I get a 4K
One of these is not like the other. You seem to think yourself intelligent, so I'm sure you can figure out the difference.
"Please give me hatch"
"Please give me my achievement"
Yea they are both 100% the same. Doesn't matter if the outcome is the same if I die to EGC or tombstone, YOU DID NOT EARN YOUR ACHIEVEMENT. It's not my fault nor is is my problem that you didn't get it, IT IS YOURS.

So basically, what you're saying is.
Screw anyone who wants to have any sense of accomplishment in this game? Because that is basically what you are saying with that last sentence.
You can go ahead and act like that if you want, I'll gladly give myself up to Myers if it's obvious they are going for Evil Incarnate, because it is one of the more frustrating achievements to actively grind for (it's literally the luck of the draw with getting 4 potatoes, as you said).
Why? Because I'd rather them having fun and getting the achievement that they have probably grinded for hours for, and seeing a Survivor who would willingly help them out with this achievement. And getting it over with. Finally having it in their collection, and finally putting that whole fiasco to rest.
Because as an achievement hunter myself, I understand the pains and frustrations, as well as the mental gymnastics you have to jump through to get achievements as BS as Evil Incarnate. I wouldn't want anyone to have something like this constantly locked and bugging them because they always feel like they're just so close, if not for that one survivor, if not for that one #########.
I will always remember the moment I got Evil Incarnate myself. It was in Haddonfield, it was a SWF and they were obviously not going to make it easy for me. But they were also being fair about it. They didn't go into lockers, they didn't actively sabotage my attempts at the achievement. Hell they were playing how you would expect a SWF team to play, but they understood that I was going for the achievement first and foremost and wanted me to work for it. But not frustrate me with it.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/277/SPJZC2PJI7E3.png
And it felt satisfying, it felt great. (This was way WAY before hatch closing was even a thing).
It feels great when you got an achievement, an acknowledgement from the devs that you beat their own challenge that they designed and you got it against opponents who fairly played with you.
Of course, that's just my take as someone who actively hunts achievements. Hell, achievement hunting is how I realized that Clown and Plague are not as bad as people make them to be. They can help me actively get 4ks even in Rank 1.
So while you don't hunt for achievements, I really would love for you to not downplay those who take upon the challenges the devs made for the game and attempt to finish them.
They're achievements for a reason, let people celebrate them when they do get it, and if they are attempting it, don't actively sabotage them knowing they are going for it. That's just again, a dick move. It's not countering anything, you're just doing it because you know they are going for it and the only way out is with a frustrated player and no one winning in the end. Just a bad ending for everyone all around.
If you want a "sense of accomplishment" get the achievement without asking people to give it to you. They are under no obligation to help you farm an achievement.
IDGAF if everyone is dead and you are staring at them in a locker. You didn't tombstone them legit, therefore you don't deserve the achievement. It's pretty simple.

LOL Killer gets a 4K, has the last survivor cornered, and the last survivor is definitely going to die no matter what...
"He's asking for handouts" Incredible mental gymnastics there. A handout is when survivors expect hatch or expect a killer to respect the 4% which killers do quite often I might add, but for some reason survivors always feel the need to be spiteful.
He is because if he had tombstone me legit we wouldn't be in this position.
If I'm gonna die to EGC then he didn't do what the achievement asked did he?
Funny how you think I'm the one doing mental gymnastics. How is asking for someone to GIVE YOU an achievement any different than asking someone to GIVE YOU hatch?
-
Two come to mind. Both between 45 minutes and an hour.
First was a game against a Spirit on Game. 2 of us were dead, and she had a 3 gen setup downstairs. She would outright REFUSE to chase either of us upstairs. When she caught one of us she would slug for the 4k. It was really annoying and toxic AF. Granted this is before the hatch changes, but she had plenty of time to find hatch and was a Spirit so she could easily have gotten one of us. Or, ya know, maybe not sweat that hard for a 4k. I've never seen a killer more desperate for kills.
Second was a Doc also on Game, running impossible skillchecks (pre-Ruin update). Again he just refused to chase anyone, he just would shock you until you couldn't do the gens and protected them all with his life. Funny part was he failed and we eventually got all the gens but it was probably the most single frustrating game I've ever played.
I've never really had a super long game as killer. Sometimes survivors hide, but that doesn't last too long. If I feel like the game has gone on long enough I just kill people and take the chance the last will get hatch.

Nurse, Spirit, Freddy are all the top tier.
Billy, Huntress, Hag, GF are the next tier down.

Jeez, why are you so uptight about this?
All he is asking was for the achievement to be made more possible, and less frustrating.
Going into a locker just to spite the killer is just a dick move, by then he already killed 3 of his teammates, and there was one person left. By all accounts he has "earned it". But by going into the locker and not doing anything until the EGC timer runs out, you're just spiting them despite knowing you will lose, you will die, you won't get points, etc etc.
At that point you're no longer playing the game, you're just actively ruining the person's mood for wanting to attempt for the Evil Incarnate achievement.
No he didn't earn it. He is asking for handouts. It is called an "achievement" not a "give me give me".
1) Devs can't change achievements on consoles unless they change something in the game that makes the achievement impossible. It's against PS/Xbox TOS. So unless they change something about Myers or his add-ons, this achievement will not change either.
2) It is ENTIRELY DOABLE. Plenty of people have done it. Just keep trying. Eventually you will get 4 potatoes that you can easily stalk and tombstone. With the way matchmaking puts red ranks again rank 18 it's just a matter of time.
3) If he refuses to kill you then that's his problem not yours. I die on my own terms. I'm not giving out freebies.
4) Them sitting there waiting for you to give them something they don't deserve is way more toxic than anything else. And again, if they want to try to pull some stupid move to get you that gives you a chance to escape.
5) "At that point you're no longer playing the game, you're just actively ruining the person's mood for wanting to attempt for the Evil Incarnate achievement." Not my problem if you only play games for achievements. I have 3k hours in this game but only like half the achievements. I only have maybe 4 or 5 adepts, because I don't play games for achievements. Again, it's your problem if you are desperate for the achievement, not mine.

instantly killed? you have to spend the whole match stalking them for minutes unable to hit them, their defense? hiding or going around walls. Now, how do I "gain it like everyone else" with new ruin, endgame collapse and 4 lockers together every 2 meters you walk
Smart is not even the right word, just toxic, she's gonna die anyways for endgame collapse, just let me get the archievement then.
You.
Did.
Not.
Earn.
It.
Stop asking for handouts. Plenty of people have this achievement. I would have had it MY FIRST TRY but I purposely let the Adam go because he was in a previous game where I was Trapper and sort of tunneled him and felt bad.
It's not that hard to get.
Sitting there refusing to end the game because you want your achievement is being toxic. Just kill the guy on the hook and try again.

You probably verse potatoes as Blendette then. I never lost a survivor midchase as killer and I only pulled out a stealth juke against a killer midchase when I knew he is bad.
I play Kate with bright pink so....
Also this guy was not a potato. He was actually pretty smart and a good Deathslinger (though extremely toxic because of the messages he sent me after the game). He got the 4k at the end of the game.
I'm sure you've lost survivors mid chase. We all have don't lie. I've seen great killers like Scott and Zubat lose survivors mid chase too. It's rare but it happens. Guess you must just be a One Above God tier killer ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You can lose good killers in a chase but need your entire build dedicated to it. Lithe + Quick / Quiet + Dance With Me + Iron Will is the only way I know to actually lose a good killer mid-chase. And you only really get one shot to do it per chase.
Quick and quiet + head on + iron will + inner strength with a beefy flashlight can occasionally help you break chase as well. You blind them at a pallet, quick and quiet into a locker and then head on them if they figure it out. If they don't figure it out fast enough, you heal mid-chase with inner strength. Maybe in theory lightweight could help to hide the scratch marks into the locker a bit faster but I prefer the chance to full heal. It's not nearly as reliable as the first build though, more for fun.
You don't need an entire build dedicated to it actually. Just Iron Will is usually enough to lose a killer. It's all about the situation and baiting the killer to try and cut you off then making smart moves and walking away from the tile while they search for you. One big reason stealth doesn't work for some is because they stay on the tile and eventually get found again. You want to leave the tile the first chance you get, and the killer thinks you are still there when you are no where nearby.

Btw people, i know i myself started with a Perk, but if there's a (popular) Add-on you dislike, that can be mentioned too.
I don't care for Iridescent Heads, for example.
Powerful, but i like having 5 Hunting Hatchets, and adding Infantry Belt makes it quite the expensive build to use frequently.
Odd Bulb
If you know how to actually use a flashlight then you don't need this add-on. It just wastes your flashlight.
Also...
Blood Amber
Waste of a key IMO. Just use OOO or Alert or something instead.

How is it the smart move? All of their teammates are dead, which means they can't Kobe off the hook. They're dead upon hook, and dead upon Mori. They do not survive in either category. How is this smart? It's literally just a way of spiting the killer "You have to hook me to kill me." It changes nothing. Once again, how is it smart? I really want to hear this.
If not everyone is dead it's smart. If everyone is dead it's still smart because the killer might do something stupid to try and get their achievement. I've had killers try to carry me away so they could get it, and that gives you a chance to potentially get away from them when they drop you and take hatch or make it to a gate. Slim chance, but still a chance if they refuse to just outright hook you.
Plus as I said, if you didn't tombstone everyone, you don't deserve the achievement. I'm not just going to hand out a free achievement to someone that didn't actually earn it.
Hook me or risk me taking hatch. Those are your choices. You don't get to have your cake and eat it too. If you could mori out of a locker then both tombstone and mori become insanely more powerful (because if you have DS you can avoid a 1 hook mori tunnel by jumping into a locker).
Again be mad at BHVR for making a stupid achievement. Don't be mad at the player for doing the ONLY THING that avoids instant death.

This is why I keep saying AFK crows should get rid of collisions. Shouldn't need to exploit gimmick game mechanics just to avoid a troll killer ruining the game. They shouldn't even be given that opportunity in the first place the game should have these people in mind and prevent issues BEFORE they happen rather than after the fact.
Yea this would work too. However I could see survivors abusing this in some cases by purposely going AFK for 60 seconds then doing some dumb trick with it. I think it would make more sense to break killer's collision if they don't move a small distance for a period of time, because there's no way they could abuse that.
-
Yes let's remove survivor's ONLY defense of getting instantly killed. Makes sense.
Fact is that you don't deserve the achievement if you didn't get them all. This person is making the smart move, either pull them out of the locker and hook them, or sit and wait forever. I've had killers message me begging to give them their achievement "because I deserve it". No you don't. Earn it like everyone else.
And if you are going to be mad at anyone, be mad at BHVR for making a stupid achievement.
-
IIRC there is a trick with items where you can drop/pick up the item repeatedly to break your collision. IDK if that would have helped here, but I remember someone telling me that's how you get past a killer that would body block the basement stairs before they patched it.
Just take screenshots/clips of it, rush gens, trigger EGC, and then report the killer at the end of the game.
IMO BHVR should have a killer's collision break if they don't move more than 1m after 30s. There is valid reason to bodyblock in the corner if you are like Plague or Billy, as long as you use it to get the insta-down on the guy there's no fault. But there is 0 reason to sit there all game like that. There's never a tactical benefit to it, it's always to troll.

Same here, Corrupt Intervention.
I just can't get over how it only lasts for 2 minutes, but people still say it's one of the best perks to stall the beginning of a match.
I can see the theory behind using it for Hag or trapper, but if you run into survivors before you've set traps you're at a disadvantage anyway.
I think the value in CI comes from being able to zone out survivors, set up for a potential 3 gen at the end of the game, or get an early chase before they start working on gens. I use CI on Huntress (Umbra's build, BBQ Whispers CI Shadowborn) and I had a game on Haddonfield where the survivors and I spawned at opposite ends of the street it seemed. They all spawned next to my blocked gens, and I was able to find 2 of them before anyone even got to a gen to start working. I caught 1, then the other almost right after, and that was enough to completely snowball into an early win. They weren't able to recover because I kept at least 1 on a hook and 2 others injured the entire time. By the time CI ran out they had a massive hole to dig out of, which led to the W for me.

I do agree that STBFL is quite OP at 8 stacks, and 6 would probably be better! I recommend trying STBFL Huntress though.... it's the only way I play her and have fun ;-) You can easily just hatchet the Obsession and keep the stacks!
I'm not giving up a single perk for STBFL on Huntress. She is the most build and map dependent killer in the game. The Ruin change hurt her way more than anyone else. She needs both tracking and game slowing perks, she doesn't need chase perks.
-
LOL no. Very very very bad idea.
1) Your a killer main, basically asking for a mechanic that makes it so survivor don't have to stop doing gens to save someone. MASSIVE 4head moment.
2) Because I totally trust this game to not spawn me right next to the killer thus negating any benefits and giving them a free chance to STILL tunnel me to death.
3) Going back to number 1, that's going to be boring AF. There is no such thing as altruism, or game awareness. Just sit on a gen all game no need to care about anything else.
4) This would require an entire rework of the game's core mechanics. Everything changes if you do this. Perks, bloodpoints, emblems, game flow, everything. Might as well just ask BHVR to make a new game at this point. It would be a lot faster, easier, and cheaper.
IMHO both Hide or Die and Last Year (along with F13) are very gimmicky based games, meaning there is little to no skill involved and the designs are very generic. It's all just a bunch of silly stuff thrown on top of each other, hobbled together to make a "game". DBD is very skill based and competitive, but it can also be chill and fun.
-
I don't see the appeal of STBFL.
Yea it's nice to have faster hit recovery but you have to basically ignore 1 player to use it. On top of that, I'm always seeing Spirits or Freddys with this perk and it's like WHY?!?! They are two of the strongest killers in a chase, you shouldn't need this perk to win a chase. Clown too, but at least with Clown you can make the argument he isn't a strong killer overall so STBFL actually improves his chances. Freddy and Spirit though... I have a hard time respecting these players when they have STBFL. Like how bad are you at chase that you need a chase perk on top of your massive chase potential as these killers?
The only killers I see STBFL being viable are Pig and Demo because they can actually get hits on the obsession with their power and not lose stacks. It makes sense for them. Deathslinger also to a degree, but same as the others, you shouldn't really need this perk to win chases. Plus if your obsession knows whats up they will just not struggle against the spear and either waste your time or force you to hit them.
IMHO, they should change STBFL to only allow a max of 6 tokens, but then hitting the obsession only removes 1 token instead of 2 and change the values from 5% to 3/4/5%. Would make it less cheesey (6 stacks it's pretty fair, 8 is borderline overpowered) and give you more options to deal with the obsession.

Stealthing midchase ain't working against killer with eyes and ears lol or generally in red ranks. Works well at rank 20
Really... because I do it regularly.
You have to do it when there is opportunity. Run behind an object, make it look like you are going straight, backtrack, start walking/crouching, keep LOS broken. It's difficult but it can be done. It almost always depends on having enough objects to block LOS and enough places to move once LOS is broken.
I did it to a rank 2 Deathslinger the other day. He chased me to a deadzone on MacMil (there were large rocks and tress for stealthing however). Ran behind the objects, then walked back the other way. He thought I kept going and tried to cut me off, saw I wasn't there and circled around where he last saw me. By this time I had walked to the next tile and was hiding behind a broken loop (the ones with the boxes, pallet was gone). Being a 110 killer I know he doesn't have the time to look for me and it would have taken him a while to scour the area. He was smart and just gave up and left. Again entirely do-able against any level killer, it's just going to be a LOT harder against good killers, and is dependent on the objects around you. Point is that, stealth isn't even an option on these Autohaven deadzone.
Also I'm talking more about before the chase even starts. On this tile for Autohaven, for example the killer can see you and react to you from a full 2 tiles away. It means no matter what direction you go he will gain distance on you. If there was more cover he would need to get close to see where you go, giving you a chance to hide or start moving away before they realize where you went so you can get some distance towards a safer area.
-
I think one of the bigger problems with deadzones is they are both loop deadzones AND stealth deadzones at the same time. Autohaven has a bunch of tiles that's just like 5 pencil thin trees. They don't necessarily need to add a pallet to these tiles, just more trees/rocks/whatever so that you could at least hide better on them. Regardless of what a lot of people say stealth IS a viable option to waste the killer's time.
-
While it's cheaper to buy the auric cells and do all this, if you play on Xbox and have family that might be playing on your console (or you intend to have multiple accounts), it's actually more cost effective to buy the DLC from the Xbox store, because as long as that Xbox is listed as your home Xbox anyone that plays on it has access to that content (and these accounts don't need Xbox Live Gold either, they can sign on and play online from your HOME Xbox). If you buy with auric cells then you can't share it to other profiles.
A very niche exception but just wanted to make this point in case people have others that play on their Xbox (or have alternate accounts). Might be the same for PS4 but I'm not sure you'd have to ask someone that owns a PS4.

You gave really good points so im not gonna bother trying to argue back except for the first point
1. While both perks kinda counter eachother i dont use ds so cant counter noed
I thought you started since 2018 or before
As for my lack of experince i run detectives hunch to help but its never really enough as i usually run killer for a while so i never get a chance to do totems and then I'm the one downed with noed so i cant check the totems
And as for ds i think its fine in mid to early game even though it can mess up your pressure but its a guranteed escape in endgame which is what i mainly dont like about it
How long did it take to write that reply? its reallly long
"While both perks kinda counter eachother i dont use ds so cant counter noed"
I was just saying that if you are going to say DS is OP at endgame then NOED shouldn't be a problem simply because of that.
"And as for ds i think its fine in mid to early game even though it can mess up your pressure but its a guranteed escape in endgame which is what i mainly dont like about it"
I've said before that I think if you DS the killer when gates are open then you should get a personal Blood Warden effect for 20 seconds, only to stop people from being toxic at the gates with it as this would require them to escape another chase if they intend to use DS when the gates are opened. But that's nothing to do with the balance of the perk, more to do with the toxicity of using it in the gate.
And I've also said that NOED should have some very very subtle tell so that astute survivors can get an early warning the killer has NOED and do totems. For me the value of NOED is in forcing survivors to slow down on gens to do totems, not in the actual one shot/speed boost at end game. I'd take the former over the latter any time I play killer.
"How long did it take to write that reply? its reallly long"
IDK 2 minutes? I type fast.

I didnt reply about ds because i havent played killer in around a week so idc about it atm but i do think its op i will try to give answers to the points you made tho
1.ds isnt supposed to be strong early game its op in endgame
2. Not everyones playing top tier killers or are in a good position
3. You get hit with ds at diffrent points of the game while you may get hit with it when it dosent matter some can get hit with it when they have 3 slugged and it completely destroys any pressure they had
As for noed you have been playing since 2018 (thats when you made your fourms account) so you obviously know all the totem places. I know all the basic totem spots since I've been playing for about 7 months but some are really hidden in the corner of the map on coldwind or autohaven
"1.ds isnt supposed to be strong early game its op in endgame"
So then why is NOED a problem if you can just run DS? This logic doesn't follow.
"2. Not everyones playing top tier killers or are in a good position"
You missed the part where I said I do it with many killers. If you're not in a good position then don't eat it. SLUG THEM. If you're in a really bad position chances are you put yourself there.
"3. You get hit with ds at diffrent points of the game while you may get hit with it when it dosent matter some can get hit with it when they have 3 slugged and it completely destroys any pressure they had"
LOL no it doesn't. If you have 3 slugged you still have MASSIVE pressure. The guy with DS has to run to the guy that's most recovered and get them up. Also why are you picking up the DS guy first anyway? If you lose your pressure from that it is 100% your own fault.
"As for noed you have been playing since 2018 (thats when you made your fourms account) so you obviously know all the totem places."
Uhhhh... no I've been playing since the game came out on Xbox. June 2017. Why you think that the time when you made a forum account is when you started playing is beyond me. I was actually on the forums BEFORE then, it's just these forums didn't exist in 2017. All we had was Steam forums. You can go to the DBD Steam forums and look up my name there to see.
"I know all the basic totem spots since I've been playing for about 7 months but some are really hidden in the corner of the map on coldwind or autohaven"
So then it just sounds like you need to improve. Nothing to do with the perks themselves. Like I can understand it's tough to learn, this game's learning curve is steep (for both sides, though at different rates). But to blame the game for YOUR lack of understanding of it... It reminds me of the people that said Lancer in Gears 1 was a weak weapon and needed to be stronger. It's not. It's one of the most powerful weapons in the game if used CORRECTLY but it takes a lot of skill to do especially against another good player with good movement and game knowledge. It's complaints like this that led Gears devs to make the Lancer ridiculously OP in Gears 3, 4 and 5. All because people refuse to learn how to use the weapon properly and insist on having a one size fits all approach, instead of using the weapon for it's intended purpose and switching to Gnasher in CQC.
I used to think NOED was a big problem when I started too. After 3k hours I'm numb to it. I know where the totems are I can disable it easily, and I can tell with good accuracy if a killer even has it before it procs. It just take experience and practice.
-
When I'm killer... blocked. Put on a list to face my OP Spirit build with 1 hook mori next time I see them.
When I'm survivor... blocked. If I find out it's them before the game I last second switch to my super immersed Blendette build with a key. I will hide all game and do no gens and make no saves. Have fun searching then entire map for me for 30 minutes only for me to hatch anyway. Also they get put on the list in case I see them as killer.
-
That's a dbag thing to do but...
If you stop thinking of survivors as a team then this kind of stuff will be slightly less irritating. Don't look at it like "save me I'm your teammate" look at it like "save me if you want to save yourself". Because by leaving you to die they just doom themselves to death as their chance of survivor drastically goes down once another survivor dies (of course this depends on how far along the game is.... at 5 gens it's pretty much guaranteed death, at 1 gen they still have a chance to escape).

Most people dont play sprirt or nurse also doing bones imo is actually more harmful then good if your not using a map or perk since noed will spawn on a hidden totem if you cleanse all the obvious ones.
Totems have set spawn locations on each tile and are evenly distributed around the map in a specific way. If you learn the spawning mechanics you can easily find all 5 totems in about 90% of your games. If you take the time to scour the map before popping the last gen you can very easily find them all in less than 2 minutes. The only maps where you NEED a map to find them are Hawkins and Lerys.
It's also pretty telling where your position actually is on the matter when you only comment about NOED and not DS when I mention both.
Also, as long as you were not the one hit with NOED, there is always the option to just leave. That counters NOED too, just leave and don't feed the killer any more kills. Not really the desired solution, but a solution none the less.
PS. I eat DS as most killers, I was just using Spirit or Nurse as examples of killers I will almost always just eat it because you can catch them right away. But I've done it as GF, Trapper, Billy, Legion, Huntress... if you can waste DS early, or at a time that is inconvenient for the survivor, do it and now it's not a problem anymore.

I'm sure your personal experience is basis on which we can all evaluate game health. You are right that the perks only activate if you choose.
I could point to anyone complaining and say the same thing. "Personal experience is the basis on which we can all evaluate game health." The difference is that there is nothing unhealthy about perks that have counter play. If you literally "do bones" or "just slug" then these perks aren't problems.
It's not like I'm doing some magical thing no one else can do, nor am I just the luckiest player ever that I never ever ever have to deal with them. Anyone can do these things.
-
When I'm survivor, I do totems when I see them. When I'm killer, I slug people that were recently on the hook. The amount of times I actually get hit by NOED or DS are incredibly low. Both are entirely valid responses to these perks.
Usually I only get hit with NOED on maps like Hawkins where it's hard to find all the totems or in situations where the killer just camps or tunnels really hard so we just rush gens and leave. Even then, there is a low chance that I, specifically, am the one hit with NOED and then there is a pretty high chance we find the totem and destroy it before they even get the hook on the guy. You don't even need to do all the totems sometimes, just note where they are so you can quickly check them for NOED when the last gen pops. It's more risky but saves a lot of time.
And I usually get hit with DS because I purposely ate it. 95% of the time I let them DS me because 1) it's so early that it's a waste, 2) I'm Spirit or Nurse or in a good position where I'm positive I can catch them right away, or 3) the game is basically over even if they DS me. It's very rare that I get hit with DS and didn't expect it, usually that only happens when there are multiple of the same survivor and I just lose track.
Getting hit by either perk is almost entirely the fault of the opposing player. It's in you control to avoid them both.
So....
Do bones. Just slug. If that tilts you then get better at the game.
-
Yes you get these boosted survivors from time to time.
I've also run across many a boosted killer too. They play like a rank 15, lose you very easily, don't understand they need to break the pallet, and are extremely indecisive. At the end game screen they are like rank 2 and I'm like "how?!?"

If you are playing killer.
There are more survivor challenges than killer.
Survivor queues at the time of Rift 1 could take me anywhere from 10 to 25 minutes (after the first couple weeks anyways, of which then I had been playing killer). For some people on console, survivors queues were taking up over an hour.
So yes, it took 290 hours to complete the rift, because I'd be lucky to get 3 games in an hour if somebody didn't disconnect immediately causing the game to cancel and restarting the entire process all over again (which happened A LOT) and if somebody didn't rage DC/suicide on first hook which would generally cause the game to end much shorter than it would (which happened A LOT against Spirit and Freddy) and if I didn't die early assuming the earlier two did not happen in the first place anyway which would generally happen when I was attempting to do challenges that I was struggling with, like the flash light challenges, because I've barely ever use them aside if I get unfortunate enough to look them from a chest which usually ends up with me getting slapped with the killer's weapon anyways.
This isn't even considering the other ######### that could happen. Getting kicked from dedicated servers being stupid, or the killer rage quitting, or my internet/power just going out or getting stuck in a locker causing me to DC -- these didn't happen often, but that's still time efficiency down the drain and more time sat waiting in queue.
Eventually I said ######### it and started playing killer and just AFKing after I got all of my tiers done in the last two weeks because I wouldn't have made tier 70 otherwise, but when a Rift's grind takes so long to the point that it makes you just not want to play the game, then is that really something I would want to support? Something that burned me out so badly that it made me take an extended hiatus from the game?
I'll let you figure that one out yourself. I'm sure you can do it.
If your not playing the game much, why are you here complaining? Obviously the Rift is not for you, it's for the people that dedicate a lot of time to playing the game already. Again you have an entire store full of cosmetics, why do you care about the Rift cosmetics? This is an open forum. I am more than welcome to give me opinion or critique on something. I don't need a reason other than that. I simply stated how I felt about the Rift and why. Then other people decided to take my criticisms on the Rift like it was somehow a personal attack or something. The fact that people are way too defensive over my opinion is the proof.
I already said plenty of times that I do not care about the Rift cosmetics or that I don't like the Rift at all. Just because I do not like it doesn't mean I am barred from speaking about it or having an opinion on it. And as far as I am aware, you also don't need to play a certain amount of hours of the game a week to be allowed to have an opinion, either.
I was already suspicious about the Rift in the first place and if you really care to look that far back in my post history, then you will see that. I also said however that despite my suspicions, if they nail it, this could be something really, really great for the game, and despite my suspicions, I was also excited about it!
And in my opinion, they did not nail it.
I gave the Rift a full complete try anyways despite my suspicions. My suspicions were confirmed true. I gave feedback on my problems with it. I explained what I liked about the Rift (what little there was, but there was still a couple things). I gave my feedback on what I felt was bad about the Rift. I gave my feedback on what I think needs to be changed about the Rift. Not a single one of these things has happened to change the Rift. I can't do anymore than that.
I'm not shitting on people's parade, I simply stated my opinion. You need to stop taking my criticisms on the Rift as a personal attack. This is like grabbing my face, smacking it across your own face, and then trying to accuse people that I hit you. Stop it.
And no, I am not blowing smoke about Myers and Ghostface. I am simply relaying my experiences. Again, just because you have a different experience, does not make you right nor me wrong. It means you had a different experiences. But when you keep trying to stalk someone, and it doesn't stalk, and then when you finally can stalk someone, it takes you into tier 3, only to tier you back down to tier 2 without your knowledge, or that you stab someone in tier 3, and you see them go down on the floor, only to disappear and be several meters away injured instead of downed, well, maybe our views on the definition of "working product" differ, but that doesn't seem like he's working as intended to me and I have no interest and playing a killer that's riddled with so many bugs.
But hey, I guess that's just me being bitter and just wanting to "look for something to hate" eh? Totally no valid criticism here. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
You seemed to have missed the point I made that if you play killer you can easily get about 1 tier per hour just on XP. If survivor que times are that bad then play killer. You will get the Rift faster than if you played survivor for challenges just from XP alone. So what if you don't get kills either, play for BP and emblem points. Better than waiting as long as you do for a survivor game. You can basically skip over them if it's necessary.
"I'm not shitting on people's parade, I simply stated my opinion."
You are though. You called it a "unethical and anti consumer" which it's not. It's just not the system FOR YOU because you don't want to play the game enough to earn the rewards. Once again there is an entire store full of cosmetics, so why do you even care about earning anything in the Rift? If anything you are getting more BP from challenges regardless of how long it takes you to do them, so you still kind of benefit even if your goal is not to finish the tomes or the Rift.
Some of your complaints are valid yes, but then you go off on how the system is exploitative which it's not. That's you being bitter.
Know what I do when a game has a battle pass and I don't play the game enough? I DON'T BUY IT! I also don't sit there and complain I don't get the stuff in the battle pass either. Gears 5 has this whole mess of a system, and I have been playing Gears since 2006. I have over 25k hours across the entire series. I played Gears 5, didn't like it, didn't care for the stuff they offered in the battle passes (operations) and simply walked away from it.
If you are playing the game as little as you say you are, and NOT paying for the Rift anyway, you shouldn't really be complaining.

''Camping in an FPS''
this is not a fps, killer can catch you from afar while camping and stopping you from doing gens.
'' You just wait for the enemy and ambush them.''
Well clearly this should be rewarding the killer then, they even made a perk named Insidious for that kind of gameplay!
''Hence why I gave a perfect example of a passive survivor. Does nothing but still escapes = black pip''
But killer still have to chase at lest once and then protec his hooked person and his slug to profit of camping and reach a 4k situation,
in your exemple the survivor can go afk and only be back at the end.
Killer can't afk and 4k unless they play Bubba and survivor decided to dance around him till he come back.
It doesn't matter if they can AFK or not, it's still a very passive way to play and should not be rewarded.
You say I have a bias but then try to defend camping as if the killer deserves something. They don't. You are the one being biased here.
