Most of the time survivors are just bad at hiding, this game also has a lot of addons and powers that grant aura reading to killers.
-
Probably the same.
I'm still doing pretty well keeping my rank even if I die.
-
They already punish them by lowering their rank points but that's isn't enough. Just don't buff survivors anymore(as many here appears to think as balanced improvement).
It's not an easy to fix problem and slapping easy fix won't help.
-
It's hard to fix keys.
How about making the hatch close instantly after person using a key uses it?
It won't fix the big issue but at least it can't be used as a free escape for entire team. Also remove bonus points survivors get from using the hatch, the objective points.
-
I feel that this patch sounds nice.
On the other hand I've been only getting killers that either straight up camp first survivor they down or run ebonies. Where did the fun killers go?

That's weird about the queue times. At the time I am writing this, if I were to queue survivor it would be almost instant, and killer would be around a 10 minutes queue. Then later tonight around 8/9 PM EST for me, killer queues would be instant and survivors would take a while. I personally see that it flips depending on the time of day.
I'm always unlucky then I guess.

Lol did you not read the changes they will be making? The only thing good for survivors is that you get 300 points for great skill checks, which to me seems like dev trolling. Killers get their way more and more thanks to whiners, while survivors still have to deal with bad hitboxes and Ebony Mori. To those that think keys are unfair, well survivors need them more now, at least they'll have something in their favor when the hatch becomes an option.
I did. Thread was created yesterday. Dev post came out today.

Get ready for the 4 man stack SWF running DS, Unbreakable, OOO, BT, HeadOn, Bond, Empathy, Adrenaline, Dead Hard, and bringing flashlights.
Solo survivor queue is dead as hell and going in with only on other person is being phased out as well. People are either going to go in to troll and make killers depip (not kidding streamers are doing swf depip squads to make killers de pip hard asf for ending games too fast).
The game is TOO asymmetrical atm and it's catering to killers who can't do basic killer things like moonwalk in a chase.
I'm ready for them every game I start. You say as if it hasn't been going on for years now.
As rank 1 killer I get squads with meta perks every other game but your list seems misguided.
DS, Unbreakable, BT, DH is meta with adrenaline mixed in.
Empathy is useless for swf, head on is a meme perk as it very rarely gives you an advantage,OOO is more of a nuisence for the killer then actual advantage and flashlights are great for the killer if survivor is running after him, trying to get flashlight saves as it means that one survivor isn't working on gens at all times.

You didn't read my post. Low rank killer queues seem to be worse. It is not one side and the other, it is depending on ranks and both sides are affected.
And pls don't generalise on who's complaining. Not every killer is complaining about everything and survivors can yell at the same volume. And just a total minority of potatos expects regular 4k, same as a total minority of potatos expects to escape every game and every killer.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1195439#Comment_1195439
Within the 6 months there has also been the Ruin rework, Nurse rework and Spirit nerfs. The whole x-sided discussion should really end now, I think they have proven enough times that they change both sides. Let's not talk about the quality of the changes, but it is not "every update", by far not.
I didn't generalise or call out who's complaining about what.
Queue times at brown ranks always were terrible but that's simply because it's so easy to get out and thanks to new way of resetting rank you basically never going to fall back to it.
On the other hand survivor queues are terrible for pretty much everything green up. I won't say anything about yellow as I haven't falled that low in a while.

Yes, this mid chapter patch is pretty much a slew of survivor nerfs (not that I'm complaining, those windows were BS). As a survivor main I'm really excited for the new loops, more mind games. I'm happy with these changes. Also repair speed with other people has been nerfed which was needed a long, long time ago.
Completely agreed.
I've had a game just yesterday where killer chased me around the game map(which needs some serious rework) for 4 minutes and then facecamped. I doubt any shape of fun was taken from that game(and I'm not blaming him either).
Some loops are just too strong and too easily connectable.

@Ivaldi said:
If survivors get another nerf before anything of theirs gets buffed.. be prepared to see a lot more people quitting DBD. Every update for the last 6+ months has been a survivor nerf in some way shape or form.
I love seeing these kinds of comments every time any balance changes get introduced to this game.
Read "Boy that cried wolf" and take it to your heart. I really can't fanthom why any survivor player would struggle in this game enough so that he/she wants to quit after balance changes.
-
@Fibijean said:
Balance changes should never be made on the basis of queue times. Remember that balance changes affect all players globally, and queues in your region, on your platform, at the time of day you play is just one of many, many possibilities and doesn't necessarily align with everyone else's experience. For example, I personally find that killer queues are instant in the early evenings, and get longer and longer the later it gets.
Every streamer I've seen plays killer or waits 15 minutes for survivor game if they play alone. That seems to be the trend and they aren't close to my zone.
I know that people from regions far from servers have terrible time anyway.
-
@Deadeye said:
As far as I know, low rank killer queues are even worse. Would be good if affected players would say so, as I cannot confirm that (I'm between red/prurple ranks).
Btw why you ask for survivor nerfs when talking about queue times? You want survivors to quit so you have less competitors in the queue?
Well, queue times are terrible for one side and instant for the other without any new content in close proximity. So way more people is willing to play survivor then killer and that is why queues are getting longer and longer.
-
I'm hoping for that to help with the queues as clearly not enough people want to play killer lately.

Yeah. You should. Thats literally how statstics work. If we used all games as valid arguments then any infectious fright combos that ended a game withing 2 minutes of the first person going down are also valid points to nerf it into the ground. "These guys were downed so fast" and thats valid evidence.
The games I'm in in general end with either side dominating. This isn't fun for either side really.
Should I also ignore 20 minute survivor queues ?

So let’s ignore games where killers get steamrolled because they take way too long to down a single survivor and drop off chases for no good reason
Of course each side can make some mistakes, inexperienced killer may just chase survivors through infinite-like loops or long ass string of pallets but that's something killer can do thing about.
What does not feel fair is that even if killer is very good and he leaves bad chases and commits to others, survivors can always just finish the gens and end the game early forcing the killer to camp or lose the killer he got.
Also, some meta shakeup would be nice for survivors. I'm tired of seeing DS, BT, DH, Adrenaline/Unbreakable when survivors actually want to try.

They literally aren't biased whatsoever but alrighty. People love to forget the good things they do and only remember the bad things they do.
Have you read that dev update about the doc? Sure, the changes turned out alright but look at the wording.
Changing ruin didn't change much for many games but reasoning behind it just sounds stupid. It was used a lot... and no perks from survivors are appearing in many high ranking games? Really?

So OP lemme ask. I had a game. Well ive had this game a couple of times. I went down first, it happens sometimes it okay, then. One by one my teamates ran in and tryied saving me, we all went down got hooked and the game was over. Just as quick of a game. Sometimes theres just really bad games. And if you start nitpicking and taking evidence from only convienient games that support your arguement. You are literally not going to convince anyone with half a brain. I mean sure your scenerio is unfortunate for thr kilelr but i have played this game for a long time and you wanna know how many games ended in less than five minutes? VERY, very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very few of them. This post again LITERALLY proves nothing because your sample size is so minisculy small its actually irrelevant. We have thousands of killers on these forums and you know how often a post lioe this comes through? Please refer to the answer above for that answer. Gen rushing is not so over powered that its seen in every possible game. Hell half of killer youtubers are making revenue off clickbait thumbnails about how they are crushing gen rushers. I wasnt in the game so i dont know but unless that killer was rank 1 it is highly likely that he made a number of mistakes and likewise for the survivors which further proves my point.
So let's ignore examples of games where survivors finish the game very quickly without any helpers like old toolboxes.
Just because most survivors play terrible it doesn't mean everything should be balanced for them.
-
Cuz he sucked. Simple as that.
Nothing was more fun then having a killer that can't touch you for 7 seconds after you get unhooked or interacted with anything. Btw, you could have constantly missing skillcheck on a gen to never actually fall asleep so that freddy can never hit you. BUCKET OF FUN IF YOU ASK ME

Okay, you don't watch a lot of DBD do you? Honestly replying to you hurts my head, you don't make sense when you reply and then confuse people, they upload videos they think are entertaining, not only wins but okay bud
I mostly watch Monto, Scott, Patrick, Farmer and some Otz and they indeed upload games when they win or as you say: are entertaining to watch. You probably won't see many videos with them getting a single kill in 5 minute long game when survivors mostly hide and they do play them on stream.
You safety pip with 1 kill with legion because emblem system is busted for legion. Using your power on people and running after other survivors to smack them once counts as chase won in very short time even if you don't do ######### with it and only slow people down for 15 seconds while they mend. It is actually very challanging to not get high emblems while playing as legion with low lethality.
In general from what I see you wrote is that you go against pretty mediocre survivors most of the time so everybody must have exact same games. Also you somehow find survivor challanging to win as which is insane but hey, you can be killer main voting for survivor buffs.

Ss Noob3? Monto? Tyde? How do they get 4k's with meme builds at rank 1 one?
Streamers/youtubers in general only upload games where they win.
You can go and watch stream of anyone that mostly play killer at high rank and they in general tell you exactly what causes them to win. Usually being: Survivors are just lazy/not do gens.

You can get randomly ######### teammates but it's up to you if you get a lot of points or not.
Of course I'm not counting in random games where killer just camps me to death or survivors give up/dc very early on but they are huge minority.

Ironically though is what killers dont think about is if gens speed gets nerfed certain killer perks would have to be nerfed as well. Because if gen speeds get nerfed which om ok with. Thanatopia, dying light, bloody butcher, pop would have to receive either nerfs or just cant synergize as well cause then it would be just endless games of gen regression pops and just slow speeds
The hell is bloody butcher?

You also didnt read, you said by the time you cross the map to down a survivor 3 gens are done, personally never had that happen on survivor or killer. I suggested if you are having that issue you should get a survivor closer to you and if take you 3 minutes to get 1 survivor on his 1st hook you need to play Killer and get better
3 minutes?! What!? What kind of game are you playing where survivor take 3 minutes to finish a gen?! Can I get your lobbies?
Generator takes 80 seconds to finish without skillcheck or any other boosters. Most of the time survivor spawn within 12 m radius from the gen so they just run up to it and hold m1 so from the start to gens popping it should be around 90 seconds. Crossing the map can take up to 20-30 seconds depending on layout then usual chase starts.
I don't know if you are getting survivors that don't know how to loop or just wait at the pallet for an easy hits but I usually get survivor that loops pretty well and every time they get a bit of headstart by either bad mindgame or pallet drop or anything they go to other loop and essentially wasting even more time.
Keep in mind that I'm talking about survivors that are at least semi-decent at the game and not potatoes that should stay at yellow ranks forever as they always get destroyed regardless of what killer is being used.

Its piss easy? What? My guy I've had games where I do 2 gens and heal 2 teammates and I never see the killer and dont pip, I've had games where the killer is on me the entire game and dont pip, playing survivor requires you to save teammates, do gens and run the killer around and even then if you go down once you get a max of 1 pip
It does require you to do something in at least 2 categories. If you get camped or genrush you probably won't pip. Other then that it's up to you.
I'm constantly running nonsensical builds with MoM or whatever challange requires me to and I'm somehow staying at red ranks. I think I'm at rank 2 and I'm pretty terrible at mindgames and in general I don't run exhaustion perks.
I think you're either not as god-like as you think you are or you're just focusing on these rare games when you get destroyed by the killer as survivor and completely ignore games when you lose playing as killer.
-

You don't see the games imbalances at low ranks. At low ranks the survivors are complete potatoes and make killers look stronger than they are. Rank 1 is where you start to see the issues.

If you cross the entire map to find 1 survivor you should work on being able to actually find one in under a minute, most if not all killer have a way to damage and stop/slow down loops, if you think killers need a buff because of a bad spawn and you're inability to find a survivor before 3 gents get popped then sorry to say no buff is gonna help, and I'm not saying okay a different killer, I play Legion so I feel it
EEEEH? What?
Real my post first instead of responding first. I didn't write I suck at finding a survivor. I say that by the time you get first hook 3 gens get done.

NOED basekit? Are you sure that's a good idea?
Hmm, if it was coupled with changing late unhook to 2x points instead of 1.5x also it would still be a totem.
End game at the moment is often faceroll for survivors as all of the 2nd chance perks still work
-
I like it being designed to be anti tunnel perk with a counterplay. However, if survivor uses it to bombrush other hooks, jump in lockers, work on totems/gens then it's too much.
From a perk that can be countered by slugging a survivor which still gives a killer pressure it changes into anti-pressure perk because survivors like to jump in lockers to get free points and around 15 seconds of killer's time which can extend the chase on a single survivor to ridiculous degree.

How so? I cant think of a killer, that if played correctly, that needs a buff
Imagine that situation. You are clown and you start in the corner of a map like for example Temple of Purigation. You cross antire map to reach your first survivor.
Chase starts for a single survivor that left the gen that's done in 30-40% already. You chase him for let's say 40 seconds because they somehow ran out of loops. 3 gens pop and 1 other is almost half way done.
How to apply pressure from this point on? You can pop the gen nobody is working on or use it on other gens.
And don't try to say that I should just use other killers. Most don't have 1 shot ability or map traversing power.

Because nobody is exploiting anything? They’re working exactly as intended.
As frustrating as it is to have to deal with busted loops and structures, it’s not cheating, it’s not exploiting anything, and it isn’t against the rules. You may think it’s tacky or unsportsmanlike but it’s allowed.
It's true that it isn't an exploit but I'm not sure about "working as intended".
Sure, producer of this game was high enough to say that they require skill and are a mindgame but let's ignore him for now.
They just require huge investment of time so most killers just give up chases at the point survivor reaches them. Sadly, some maps are build so that structure is always accessible and killers might as well give up at that point.
Looking at breakable wall in killers shack and few structured on the new map it looks like single person dedicated small amount of time to mitigate or remove infinite-like structures from the new map.

Totally depends on what you consider second chance perks. It's not something that's actually defined in the game, so it winds up being horribly subjective and nobody can agree on what does and doesn't count as a second chance perk. You could make a case for anything that lets you get a hit or down that you otherwise wouldn't have without that perk being a second chance perk, but there's no single right answer.
Second chance perk is pretty much everything that gives you second wind after you messed up while not limiting to being abused.
If I take one loop too much, dead hard give me that extra edge when I made a mistake - a second chance.
I just got unhooked and killer decided to go after me and I jump in a locker. He pulls me out and gets ds'ed - a second chance.
3 survivors are being slugged while last one is being chased. I pick myself up from the ground using Unbreakable - a second chance.
All 4 survivors are hooked at the same time, I unhook myself - a second chance ( only fair one IMO)
Killer gets a few noed downs during the end game - a second chance for the killer - can be disabled without activation.
Is it really that hard to define? Come on.

What does mean "pointy bit"?
My two cents. For quick shot, the tip of the spear is align with the center of the aiming. Use it to have a better notion and even precision from where your shot will land in the horizontal axis. Important to stop safe loops when you can shoot in less than one second.
You know, just the tip.
I mentioned quickscoping because some 5Head at BHVR decided to lower sensitivity while ADS'ing which makes you unable to flick in most cases.
-
I have a wild idea but hear me out.
How about: everyone will just play the game normally?
-
They are good for most braindead stealth in the book.
You don't have to do much. Just walk to the bush that isn't right by the gen, crouch and BAM. You're invisible.
I don't get the mentality of anyone thinking it's actually fair and balanced.
-
Use the pointy bit on survivors.
Quickscope is your friend. Walk back during reel.
You can reel survivors to windows - rare usability.
He has no map pressure so you have to bypass that with perks or hope for survivors stupidity.
-
Looking at games I've played lately from ######### side of the stick and as survivor it is worse then it used to be.
Sure, many survivors are playing like lego legless legolasses but many actually can play the game and hold m1 aaand game ends in 3 minutes. Bucket of fun.
I did have few games where killers just gave up as almost at the same time as they hooked their first survivor 4 gens were done.
Sorry but argument: Not everyone plays like that isn't really valid in here.
This was actually my experience playing Deathslinger for first few days. Fast queues as killer, game done in 4 minutes as survivors love to test their m1'ing. Not a very fun way to play imo but with these lazy devs I'm way beyond hoping for changes to come ever.
-
I enjoyed it waaaay more when I had to pay any attention.
Survivor got oneshot during end game? Maybe it's noed.
How many times did Myers music play?
Are these skillchecks getting faster and faster?
This game have been dumbed down so much that you don't need to pay any attention to it anymore.
-
I think it would be fine.
SF usually works once against better survivors as they just learn that killer runs it and drop pallets early.
New map has many unsafe loops which are very unsafe as pallet is dropped.
-
Oni is for sure stronger killer but both are fun to play

I think either OP was slugged for 4 minutes or it was a drawn out game where survivors traded downs.
Depending on the killers intentions, it could be reported, there's a lot of ifs involved.
So are you trying to say that If I down everyone and slug them to bleed out without hooking it's bannable now?
-
After 3 gens are done and you have 1 hook there are 3 survivors free to either finish both remaining gens in around 80 seconds or split to save the hooked guy and still finished the gens.
All of that depends on survivors staying in the same spot or heavy slugging and lack of coordination between remaining survivors.
I'm not saying most of survivors aren't terrible but... some killers are terrible as well, why are we ignoring them and their fun?

Yeah, thats exactly the "killers are opressed" argument
"survivors get all the fun because they are cash cows, while us, oh poor killer mains, must endure the pain of playing this game"
I dont know about you, but, was the doctor buff a way to cater to survivors? was the balanced landing nerf also made with the purpose of milking those survivors into buying more cosmetics? What about adding counterplay to DS? Surely another way of making those filthy survivor mains spend more in your game.
Well, Balanced nerf actually had some thought behind it as it was inconsistent with other perks and no sound while dropping makes for some good escapes.
I haven't seen anyone actually ask for doc buffs so I have no idea where did that come from.
Also, disregarding specific sides it seems that BHVR just don't care and are milking the playerbase without any plans of ever expanding it.
They build a fun game, never increased the dev team size and now they keep decreasing amount of stuff players are getting while instead giving us skins to buy every week and no events as a tradeoff.
Agree with it or not but it still is a competitive game and these love to mix up the meta game to change staleness of matches of the top from both sides. We don't get anything of sorts. Even simple number changes would have worked. Removing cooldowns on perks that don't do much which causes them to be utterly useless. I'm not asking for complete rework but stuff like switching the range of the perk from 24 meters to 32 meters is a 5 second change. Why aren't they experimenting with stuff like that?
What if the result of seeing a lot of people use lithe decrease the boost lenght of it to 2.5 seconds or increase cooldown to 70 seconds. Sure, it does sound like a minor thing but it would make a difference in time.
Meanwhile I'm playing rimworld and I get 5 patches a week, each of them being simple number changes that massively change the game.
-
Most likely he means what every competitive game has. If you get invested into the game, you get frustrated if you lose or at least most people will.
What he obviously failed to notice is that this game tries hard to not be competitive, at the same time they organise tournaments in a non-competitive game and do nothing about obvious imbalances in the game.
Game can be frustrating if you lose in the game against a better opponent for example to god like nurse. I usually take it as a loss and carry on because I've been bested and I can learn from it but then I go against nurse with mori or swf with toolboxes and a key and I feel robbed. Or I get ormund as a killer and can very well just write off that game as a unfair loss.
It's frustrating when you can't do anything to beat your opponent and as always Mr.Cote is completely ignoring these cases.
