Because killers needed buffing in high ranks?
and it isn’t just killers who get what they want; other changes have been made to killer such as the ruin change which they didn’t want.
-
A lot of people are saying this despite the fact that only one map was changed, and it only had 2 pallets removed from a certain area.
If you are seeing less pallets for definite, assume that this is a bug.
-
Yes, every map will have only 5 pallets despite the fact that only a few maps had pallets changed and 5 is below the minimum...
-
5 survivors with one use!?
hiding within 10metres for 1 minute in one trial!?
So essentially they're just challenges that require on how the other side plays rather than the player themselves? hmm..
-
I see no harm in leaving the old version as a cosmetic.
-
I think Freddy already has a crazy amount of abilities already, and is currently in a pretty good spot.
I don't really think Pig needs a new ability either, all she needs is a few small buffs. And if people want to use RSN2 RBTs, they should be able to use the addon - even if that means only being able to pair it with others.
I imagine that one type of RBT would always be stronger to use than the other (intentionally or not), and so this would effectively make an ultra-rare item basekit or do very little
-
"we plan to hit soon" plans can change, y'know
I imagine all the map changes & loop removals took up their time with this update meaning they had no time for perk changes, which is fair enough.
maybe next update? We'll see.

The devs do seem quite lazy, especially if you were to compare them to the devs of Warframe for example
They just made huge changes to multiple maps, fixing many issues that have been persistent for ages, as well as testing work on generator times. Which would definitely take a lot more work than changing a few weak perks (even though 2 perks have been changed with this update)
-
How can you tell that every map is now killer favoured if you haven't played the PTB!?
And no, they aren't making all maps smaller, they're making some smaller and fixing tiles & window logic. (and these changes actually benefit low mobility killers rather than killers such as spirit, billy & nurse)
Blood Lust is still here because there's still very strong loops in the game. They've just taken out a few infinites.
And yes, maybe every map will have breakable walls at some point in the future, but with the current way they've been implemented (look at the saloon) they honestly shouldn't be an issue for survivors.
-
I imagine they do understand the struggles that this game has, but because of how game development works, they have to wait before they can show their fanbase that they do understand.
I can imagine a BHVR dev sat at work reading people saying they don't play their game because they haven't reduced map sizes, and just thinking "######### we're working on that right now" but I digress.
But it is great that they were listening to all the feedback/angry complaints that came through about map size! Thank you developers!
-
I play killer only because survivor just..
It BORES me
There's nothing bad about it from a gameplay perspective, it just.. isn't my thing, y'know? I sometimes try it, but honestly I really struggle to get into survivor gameplay.
And honestly, with the amount of games I've played as killer? Buying the game just to play one side is easily more than worth it.

Wasnt really a killer nerf either. Its weaker on low tier killers but much stronger on top tier killers.
Remember the official line from BHVR is that Ruin wasn’t nerfed, it was just changed.
Or is it now considered a nerf?
I imagine when they said it was a change they were implying that that was the mindset of BHVR game developers when working on ruin.
People within BHVR are allowed to disagree with that, especially if they're forum moderators and not game developers.
But let's not kid ourselves; the changes left killers in a pretty bad spot for a while, so many agree that it was a nerf.

These are changes that killers really needed, and will probably affect high ranks far more than low ranks. Which is a good thing. Don't jump the gun before we've even seen what the map changes actually are. Then you can decide whether to leave or not.
(also DLC can only be refunded if you have less than 2hours playtime after purchasing and have owned it for less than 2 weeks, so that might be quite difficult, Steam can make special exceptions at times though)
-
Since TF2 hasn't had an update in a while, I need a new source for funny game-breaking bugs after a patch.
So if the new bugs aren't at least on the level of: Flying t-posing scouts, Infinite HP heavy or T-posing jump-spamming MvM robots, I shall be severely disappointed.
(/s)
-
One will always be stronger than the other, but they're both unfair and desperately need changing IMO
-
It’s meant to mean something!?
I just do it when I’m bored lol
-
So perks like ruin and NOED, that can be destroyed before they even come into use, would take up 2 perk slots?
That’s far too harsh for perks that already have counter play imo
-
Pop Goes the Weasel. I can hardly feel comfortable in any game without it.
-
Overwatch also has this feature for its roles, but it has an issue that would also affect DBD.
because of queue times and individual role ranks, you would most likely be picked to play one side (in this case probably killer) a lot more often.
-
Surprising to see so many self-proclaimed “skillful” players complaining about the removal of a mechanic that only required you to run forward and press space. (Other loops still exist you know!)
Loops like these are an outdated mechanic from a time when nobody had learnt to loop properly yet. Good riddance.
-
The Nightmare. Easily.
He's relatively easy to play (good if you're new to the game!) while also being a very strong killer.
Since you're new and will therefore be in low ranks: his power will almost definitely confuse enemy survivors, giving you a massive advantage when using him. And since he's an "m1 killer" he'll also be great for learning about loops & how to mindgame survivors.

Actually there's apparentely supposed changes to a wide variety of maps this mid chapter. Not just ironworks.
I wonder what killers will complain about next. 2020 is looking good for then atm
Please stop.
killers are allowed to have buffs you know. You don’t need to act toxic towards them as a whole because of some map changes.
if you don’t like it: tell the developers, don’t be toxic about a large group of people needed to keep the game active.
-
If killers could only lunge in straight lines, 360s and loops would be disgustingly overpowered.
It’s fine the way it is.
-
I’m fine with the invincibility, but the added speed boost automatically allows survivors to extend a chase to ridiculous lengths.
IMO it should be reduced to just invincibility, not invincibility + speed.
-
the icon turns red whenever the obsession is set, but it also turns red when the obsession dies if that helps?
-
...And I love him for it.
(I agree he is definitely creepy though, the whole broken jaw clicking into place thing makes it worse too)
-
People trying out new content after a DLC release is very common in most if not all video games. This will probably pass when people learn how to play against him, or killers become bored of him.
-
I don’t know man, it kinda sounds like a skill-based kobe..
This would probably make the game miserable for killers at high-ranks imo, it could work for low ranks though, since slugging isn’t really an issue there.
I think the game just needs to move out of this meta and into something new and fresh, not just slugging vs decisive strike
-
are you pressing m1 so you can hit them too? The attack isn’t automatic, so if this is occurring every time there might just be a slight misunderstanding here.
-
I agree with you!
I wouldn’t say it’s underwhelming but...
I enjoy deathslinger, but he just really doesn’t work on maps like red forest..
The map is also very strange; strong loops where killers need to break walls to have a chance, but then there’s also extremely open areas with no pallets, and very unsafe pallets that are basically suicide.
overall though, I think the new killer & his perks are interesting, the map is strange but it works.
(also, your English is actually really good, don’t worry about it!)

Dead Man Switch + Freddy + Class Photo Add-on will be incredibly strong. Mark my words. Imagine blocking all generators for 40 seconds after knocking your Obsession then teleporting. 95% of survivors stop working on Gens when they see that blood spew out.
Can't wait to try it.
Jesus, that sounds terrifying..
and yeah, it seems like his perks are mostly built for specific builds. But if you say that dead man’s switch is good for stalling, I should try swapping out PGTW for it...
-
There isn't a set pattern for DLC sales, but you can definitely expect one around any commercial holiday.
Is Easter the next holiday??

There have also been times where I’ve been harphoon through generators, trees, rocks, walls.
Is this a a part of his ability or is this a dedicated servers Latency issue.
Most likely dedicated servers, but I think there's a delay between the spear hitting and the survivor actually being registered as hit. I've hit some very interesting spear shots while playing him, and I'm assuming that this is why

Trying out Dead Man's Switch this game. Let's see how that goes hahaha.
GL, I'll admit the only perk of his I've tried out is gearhead, and that didn't go so well.
I'm a bit scared to try out his other perks lol, tell me how it goes!
-
Usually it's because survivors are trying to distract you and get you to come to them.
You'll notice similar behaviour when one survivor runs into your LoS, and then proceeds to run far, far away from any generator on the map, in a very obvious attempt to distract you.
Just ignore them; It's a terrible strategy imo
-
Gen speeds are still bad, fortunately people are busying themselves with the new killer so nobody is taking advantage of it yet.
The new sabotage speeds, however, have been causing me real pain...
-
I agree that deep mend is mostly pointless, but it's good for slowing survivors down just an extra bit. Which is fine when he has 110% move speed and a reload time.
For the latter, the killer can use their attack early (without hitting the survivor) to cancel the chain effect, Letting the survivor escape without damaging them. The upside is that this doesn't stun the killer either. It's a fun little tech.

Oh for sure! That's why I'm trying different perks to see what goes well with him. So far I'm running
Save The Best for Last
BBQ
Thanatophobia
Discordance
I'm thinking I'm swapping BBQ for Nurses Calling once it pops up in the Bloodweb for me
That's a good idea for a build actually!
I'm a big fan of running M&A on him, his terror radius is 16 metres while his rifle's range is 18! You can spear 'em before they hear you coming, which is amazing.
BBQ & PGTW also pair well after you've surprise-caught and downed a survivor.
My fourth perk is usually just a random-wild card. Trying STBFL or Nurse's calling for that slot should work really well
-
He's a lot of fun to play, a little weak but fortunately most people are still learning how to play against him, so his strength won't matter too much for a while. Hell, I even reached red ranks (for the first time) by just playing him.
Lot of fun, will be interesting to see how he performs when everyone realises how to counter him though.
-
I have noticed a very large amount today!
It’s usually just toxicity in post-match chat however, so if this is normal for each major update, I assume it’ll pass.
-
I had that thought initially, was a bit confused when he couldn't trap survivors against walls by pulling them from above lol.
-
Damn. I have 600K BP I've been saving up, but now it seems like nothing :P

I've been hearing that he's weaker compared to other killers from a lot of different people. That's why I'm curious to see if people will even consider buying him.
I'm hoping BHVR does a reverse-Oni and gives him a nice buff shortly after his launch. Hopefully the 115% people have been asking for, but I'm mostly buying him for the fun of having someone to mess around with in lower ranks.

Yeah thats whats so dumb. That should almost never happen. Yet here I am....time and time again im like really? The game is going to penalize me for not camping a hooked survivor? Then I bet if I camp the hooked survivor the hatch will magically spawn under the person downed I need to go get...
Yeah, it really annoys me tbh, mostly because I get really worried about where the hatch could've spawned. Hence why my matches usually end up with me slugging 2 survivors so neither can escape lol
-
Lmao, I get what you mean, this happens quite a lot for me.
Guess you just gotta pray they don't kobe, or maybe even wait around the hook for a bit in case they try.
-
It usually happens that whenever a new killer is released, they become a very common sight for the next week or so. (Oni was kind of an exception however)
I'll probably buy him myself; his ability looks fun to use. He does seem a bit on the weaker side tho imo

I'm a firm believer that ALL of Bubba's perks are great. Plague's perks are also only arguably second to Bubbas and Myers.
I second this! Bubba's perks can very easily find their way into certain builds. The same goes for Plague and in some cases Myers'
-
Pig might not be viewed as strong but she's a lot of fun!
Usually most DLCs have a reason for buying them, including fun/strong perks even if the killer isn't that good. Plague is weak but has corrupt intervention and infectious fright.
I would say Darkness Among Us isn't worth it, but I've seen lots of people thoroughly enjoy playing as The Legion despite his weaknesses
Personally, the only DLC I don't consider worth buying is Cursed Legacy; The Oni feels kinda clunky for me and all the perks aren't that strong...
-
I don’t think they nerfed any killers, in fact they buffed The Doctor and The Plague!
