it’s a shame how bad it is it’s one of those perks that could genuinely be better
They should give it a 1% buff at least. It horrible right now. 3hooks for 9% isn't wroth it. Also I'm not even sure why the obsession part of this perk need to remain.

Yup but for some reason, even if they win 90% of their matches, you have big streamers like Trutalent saying the game is survivor sided. And a bunch of bots repeating the same thing behind them.
Theres nothing there. With what just happened to nemesis its just become a pattern of survivors kind of just there to laugh at. Like the hits you are getting with tentacle now, you may as well just give up in every match versus him.Load up your favorite killer, mindlessly win the majority of your matches and then come complain, even with a massive win ratio, that your killer needs unreasonable buffs. For whatever reason.
For reference I play legion and plague and have 0 issues. They are perfectly fine the way they are, even though some would argue about legion "just being m1 hur hurhur" needs buffs. And Plague I think black incense needs to be just deleted from the game.
But you wont find any self critical killers on any discussion thread anywhere. Its just… I have yet to see a person who plays killer call their favorite killer anything but underpowered. Youll never find people saying their killer is fine the way it is and you DEFINITELY will never find anyone saying their favorite killer is overpowered. If the killer cant beat a strong 4 man than they will likely always be perceive as underpower. That the gold standard for a good amount of the killer players. I not sure why this is but this is a very popular mindset.

well the ghost face got me on one at the end of the marked timer 😭 it just seems like an unfun perk. It doesn’t have to be strong just don’t make a perk that makes me feel like I’m screwing myself over yanno? Like it wastes a bunch of time and needs all this extra stuff just for it to not work at all.
it pretty much a syringe so they gotta be extremely careful on the numbers and activation requirement unfortunately.

Up to nearly 20 matches now no dracula, ive never seen this
If the game didnt tell me I wouldnt know he was out
20 matches is kinda insane. I guess he just popular in my area idk. Could be a mmr thing as well. Maybe he not popular in the higher brackets?? i just guessing at this point

outside skull merchant, sadako, and singularity i see only the new killer for weeks after release. Dracula shaping up be no different so far (NA west)

seems really unfair that I have to go out of my way to open two chests and even then wait 60s to be healed but to have it be for nothing if I get downed by an instadown like it won’t even take effect next time I’m injured normally. I get going down after you’re broken but not even getting a chance to have it take effect seems very unfair to have as a perk.
The vast majority of killers don't have instant downs but yeah that the risk u run by using this perk.
You pretty much have to run appraisal with moment of glory because searching for two different chests take way too long. People often open chests in solo q too....so u need the shiny coin offering just incase you wanna proc this perk multiple times. 60sec is a long time but u can pretty much make a killer drop chase through exhaustion perks alone. hit through a window and lithe away, hit and overcome to the other side of the world, or just get your sb close to 99 and use it a little later after getting hitting.

easy fix: remove 4% unhook chance. I mean, when did it actually get used for actual unhook attempt now where luck.is.meaningless?
They did it for the 2v8 and no one complain about it. Maybe they might add it to the base mode

Topic, survivors can kill themselves on the hook to get out of the match quickly, why do killers not have an "open the gate" button regardless of gen progress?
Either:
- Survivors should not be able to give up, and neither should killers
- Both should be able to give up a match.
u seen what a give up option have done to solo q. u definitely don't want that for killers

This type of gameplay cannibalizes the experience for most people, it shouldn't be part of the game, it just isn't fun no matter what.
If a killer wants to, they can completely kill the enjoyment of the game for you and decide to tunnel you, the only solution i see to completely end this toxic gameplay is to give the normal gamemode the 2v8 treatment, and make it so killers cant see hooked survivors and they get teleported randomly around the map.
No its not a viable strategy, its a toxic harmful playstyle that does nothing but make the game look bad. Remember that Twitch Tournament for DBD that a disaster?
Tactics are definitely the number 1 reason solo q survivors quit at least base on my now dead friend list. Tactics are heavy bake into certain killers kits like trapper, hag, and twins. Hard nerfing these things will mean some killers will need to be change. Tunneling probably the biggest factor at keeping the kill rate at the desire 60% im betting. The 1v4 just is what it is at this point. 2v8 was magical! the devs solve most of the main issues on both side at one time.
cage moving- not much crying about camping
2 killers teammates- less crying about swf now
no unhook notification- way less tunneling complaints
Harder to stealth- less crying about hiding survivors because of the basekit no where to hide on gens. Still can hide late game but a massive improvement in my opinion.

This is embarrassing.....pathetic..…..
I mean he can beat half of the killers with just brute force and speed. He would pretty much dominate most of them if he actually use any power but the entity seemingly can modify strength here. I only played a few Castlevania games but I seen Alucard in symphony of the night...
Legion would get speed blitz in 0.1 second

As everyone no doubt remembers, Lights Out was a struggle for Survivors and problematic for some Killers. It was difficult for Survivors to do or find anything and if the Killer had no real map information, it made finding hiding Survivors frustrating. This made the game mode unpopular and made people feel it was unfun. Despite this, BHVR is trying it again, perhaps because they believe it could still work.
Now that Lights Out is returning in September, what does everyone hope the mode does different this time? Can it be made fun for Survivor while also keeping it tense, spooky, and maintaining what did make the mode interesting?
The same thing they did for the 2v8... hard Nerfing all the tactics. You can Insidious camp hooks with no TR, your encourage to tunnel off hook because u can track blood, and u win easily by 3genning in this mode. The whole strategy against 3genning is healing on the other side of the map and early pre running. You cannot do either consistently
On the killer side the game terribly boring. Dealing with Basekit extreme stealth is super tedious. Two survivors hiding at the end of a normal match is zzzzzz and this mode it happen every game. At least when i was playing killer it did.

Who of you knows this strange feeling?
I played DBD very actively for a while, but in the last 2 years or so I've taken more and longer breaks.
Now I'm at a point where I've been wanting to play for days, but then I think about the unfun playstyles like tunneling, slugging and camping, and I immediately lose the desire to start the game.
Note: This is NOT an Us vs Them post !!!!
I can only speak from the survivor perspective because that's the role I play most of the time and prefer to play. I'm sure there are also Killer players who know the same or similar feelings as I've described, for other reasons (swf, tbagging, flashlights and so on), who are also welcome to talk about their feelings.
My question is: What should I do? Do you have any tips for me on how I can stop caring about these unfun things as mentioned above? I wish I just didn't care and could think "Okay, the match was unfun, go next".
But unfortunately most matches are unfun with the same unfun playstyles over and over again. I only play solo, which is even more frustrating because you not only have the killer as an opponent but often your team too.
Searching for people to play SWF with is not an option either, I'm introverted and on many days I don't feel like talking at all.I found 2vs8 quite relaxing, it was chaotic but tunneling and camping were hardly there and when one or two survivor disconnected or were eliminated early you still had the feeling you had a chance. I know, many people missed the perks but for me it was great that there were no clear meta. But even though I really feel the need to play, thoughts of the sweaty 1v4 mode keep me from doing so.
I know I asked for tips, but I doubt there are any good tips for my weird problem. Maybe I just want to know if there are other people who feel the same way and hear what they do in this situation.
The base game have been nothing but tactics for years now. If u don't wont to face them then don't comeback because little have change. I recommend you come back but you definitely gonna see these things every other game. I agree with everything you said about the 2v8
-
nither! both was overly hate cause they was born in the most hated meta ever (eruption/COB) with a kit design perfectly for it. Knight power pretty interesting to utilize especially now that u can't instant drop a guard. Skull merchant pretty easy to use but in my opinion she not intolerable to face/use.
The worst two design characters go to the hag and twins by a landslide.
-
huntress strong but overrated. Even with the buffs she isn't oppressive at all in my opinion.

camper no camping
camper no camping?

In my experience the survivor bots are often better than the one that they replace.
The bots run around the map 90% of time from what i see . Even head on swf's do gens more frequently
-
it really no nice way to say it... 1v4 solo q is a garbage experience on average when i play. It just a lack of communication in a meta that revolve around heavy tactics. This is my goat game but it pretty much only due to the killer experience. Out of about 2500 hours of playtime at least 900 is on survivor. The 2v8 was the most fun survivor been in years for me. 2v8 show that dev can massively reduce all the tactics survivors hate and make the game about chase. They see the state of solo q as fine because it reaching the 60% killrate but is it actually fun anymore?
To Summarize
solo q matches are rarely about actual chases and more about dealing with tactics.

I mean what else are they expected to use, thee is nothing else. Or are you saying that they should just hand the game to Survs with stacked toolboxes and never run any gen control and basically let you win?
Defending gens is part of the job description as KIller. Gen regression is a necessary part of that as long as Gen PROgression remains in the game. The more gen progression you all stack, the more that Killers feel the need to run gen control, because one of their emblems comes from holding gens down long enough. If they want points and to pip, they have to do this; it's just how the game is designed and encourages them to play. You simply are never getting rid of gen regression or ever going to see it not be popular. The harder Survs want to win by bringing gen stuff, the harder Killers want to win by bringing gen regression. Even in its nerfed state. They could literally nerf these perks into the ground entirely and Killers would still stack four of them, because it really is that important especially in higher level play and especially for any Killer that isn't highly mobile. This is a game design flaw. The easiest fix is addressing gen speedup perks and tools, but they won't. If you want more chase, Killers need more reason than not to chase than they do to drag the game out to do ANYTHING. And right now, all gen regression is not all that likely to do much unless you stack them.
The more you nerf gen perks for Killer, the more Killers WILL stack them… because there is nothing left for half the Roster.was pointing out the fact that killers always run gen defense so i don't know why the op even pretending like there some new meta.
-
whoa there! wHat… they using gen defense still? no way

I thought this too.
With two killers and the potential for both killers to have 'stations', e.g. Pig and Freddy, you would have to reduce the number of stations to ensure there's enough capacity for both killers and chests to spawn.
So for Pig, have just three Jigsaw boxes spawn, and have survivors able to search boxes multiple times. You still get the RNG for how many searches are required, but if the killers are camping two of the boxes you can go to the third and use all your searches there.
But three is the mimum you could have due to having two killers. If that's too few, or if there are killers who need significantly more (Alien and it's tunnels for example) then I don't think stations are going to work at all.
three boxes will just leave to a high movement speed killer rotating around them.
or even something more horrible with singularity

Seriously
That gamemode was way more balanced than the game itself
At least in 2V8 there was no OP build, no infinite chases. Gens weren't annoying for both sides…
They could at least try to do something, because getting stuck in a chase where you have 2 pallets next to each others (Greenville Square for exemple). That's a no no.
I'm getting tired of having to play only the nurse to give pressure to the survivors (Ngl, when you can pass trough wall, survivors gameplay is way more different)
"At least in 2V8 there was no OP build, no infinite chases. Gens weren't annoying for both sides" one would think their skill would be the primarily factor of a win or L......but nope. Perks, item/addons, and tactics decide that. Arbitrary time waste through random exhaust perks every chase making it where u don't even have to loop well for gens to pop. Meanwhile u can be complete garbage and win still just because u follow one guy around to death. The normal game mode is all about advantage while skill is secondary.
i miss the 2v8 as well. Tactics and perks was way more under control in that mode. And the chasing aspect of dbd was finally being push. Solo q actually felt viable to win in instead of this suicide simulator that i keep having to deal with every other match.

If windows is just a crutch for bad players that run and pre-drop every pallet as many are saying then they are just creating dead-zones that will let the Killer win eventually anyway. So what is the problem.
i actually like windows even tho i don't use it anymore. i see no problem with the perk at all waa just $hit posting. i never thought windows cost me the game as killer but i do think it very strong.

take away all the pig traps and uber buff the dash. Also give her the wall hack irl. The bear traps already extremely problematic in the normal mode so i don't see them fixing it in the 2v8 with two killers running around.

Clown, Spirit, and Blight seem like obvious choices. Dredge would need some tweaks (probably removing Nightfall), but it would be cool to have Dredge in 2v8 so he could locker-teleport over to his partner.
I really hope blight is one of the last people they add to this game mode. We already know he's gonna be every game. Also im still not convince that two heavy movement speed killers on a team isn't gonna be a problem.

pretty good list but how is pin head not at the top. It a no mmr game mode which mean it very likely a noob gonna pick up the box. Also i think slinger should be in the wouldn't hurt a butterfly tier. he can hold someone for an instant down killer at best but u can already two tap survivors with partner anyway
-
The op first sentence is nightmare fuel
-
Unforeseen is pretty intolerable and power creep to hell. It pretty much the old UW of undetachable. On in door maps with constant line of sight blocking it pretty much a free win. You can't even tell it in play like trail most of the time. Irl wall hacking plagues love running it for free wins in my experience.
-
Q time was pretty bad so i didn't play much killer. i think the 2 v 8 less stressful even when u lose. play about 8 killer matches in the 2v8 and loss once so i don't have much to go on. Normal 1v4 definitely feel way more stressful when playing the weaker killers.

People have adamantly said they hate combos such as Trapper Huntress, Billy Huntress, Billy wraith , Nurse billy, nurse huntress,
Thats the chaotic nature of this mode you dont know what combination youll get who cares if there is problem combos do you want hard nerfs on all killers
I understand you see it as the chaos of the mode but survivors fun need to be heavily consider for the sake of Q times. No I do not want to face a pin head with the chain hunt never ending cause some noob pick it up. There no mmr in this mode and the devs really need to keep that in mind.
"do you want hard nerfs on all killers" I mean it's pretty obvious that some of them will need nerfs if added. I say stick to adding safe picks instead of killers who will be complicated to balance. All mid range attackers & range killers should be alright. xeno, prymid head, even slinger would be fine.

What absurd combo in the game mode currently? i don't see any and i haven't heard anyone complain about a specific combo. "balance doesnt matter in this mode" idk about that. The balance been pretty decent so far and i wouldn't won't that to change. They need to be careful of problematic combinations.
imagine a killer that can always keep u injure like legion/ plague with killers like wraith or oni.
what about two rush down/fast movement speed killers patrolling one side of the map? that could be extremely unbalance as well.
Characters with complicated kits like sadako and singularity would be nightmare to balance in this mode.

The 2v8 was crazy fun and i kinda agree Billy was a bit under power. He would perform great when tagging wit wraith for the instant downs but that about it. They should've gave him low pro at base given the endless amount of resources
-
no thanks light outs made killer tactics even more enticing than the regular mode. The lack of tracking capabilities just made killers stay near hooks with no terror radius. On top that u couldn't beat a killer who was hell bent on three genning. Most of the counterplay to 3 genning is to shift w to the opposite side of the map once hit but in light outs it was impossible to get everyone on the same page. Also hiding survivors are the most boring thing in the whole entire game to face and the mode made it very easy to do so.
