I'm looking forward to the 2v8 as always which i prefer over the base mode. DBD still goated no matter how much $hit i talk about it so I'm always hype for new chapters. They pretty much updated the whole killer roster at this point and i feel the next major focus need to be solely on the maps.

I'm convinced 90% of the people who use "Well I'm high mmr" to try and invalidate others probably aren't high mmr and just want a reason to put someone else down and make them seem small. Like no one cares. We're all getting into matches and we're all having our own experiences with the game. Everyone's opinions are valid because the devs need to take different mmr bracket experiences into account when making changes.
Talk!!! to em

I play it, but no mither shouldn’t be part of it (except they gigabuff it).
Literally every match I get a no mither, be it as killer or survivor and depending on which side I am, it is a struggle or an ease.
I wouldn’t deny the fact that no mither got a 25% pick rate or higher in that mode. Either I got multiple people broken or at least one.
The invocation perks that people keep getting only add on to that.

I just played a match as Bubba with Knock Out / Third Seal where I slugged everyone quickly and let them all bleed out for the full duration only to mori the last guy. It's ok tho they brought the map offering.
Amazing gameplay. I don't think that is problematic at all. Finally I can kick back and relax as a killer. I can just leave and make some coffee and when I'm back they are all dead. BHVR doesn't think that this is problematic either.
See you in the fog!

shuffle cool but playing without anti tactics perk is dangerous. Solo queue matches is too much of a gamble and it very good chance of being a bad match these days.

only thing i knew about almo was that he like camping with irl head back in the day. Hope the best for him moving forward. Appreciate his hard work he put into dbd

But it would be fun, if there will be a gen in the basement for brave guyshow would that be fun in anyway for survivors? it just a noob trap that potentially give the killer a snowball basement hook

dbd been on a 4 step plan for the last decade.
1 a tactic become the main meta (camping, 3genning, tunneling, slugging)
2 Survivors are giving blatantly broken perks as counterplay that will inevitably be nerf . (ptb reassurance, original DS, buckle up/FTP, mft)
3 killer perks that help make the tactic stronger than get nerfs.
Over charge & Call Of Brien- for 3gens
Pain Res and Pop multiple times- for tunneling
Gen blocking perks- for camping
4 Tactics are still too strong so survivors get a basekit counter. (3 gen solution, borrow time, anti face camp meter with longer hook timers)

I would agree - slugging as a strat to do temporarily isn't an issue. Say 40-60 seconds etc. However, at 5 gens everyone slugged…I don't see the strat in that.
I don't know what the devs plan to do down the road to help find a fix for this in live games, but I feel like they are throwing a few things on the table in the office…We shall see.
we in phase 3 so I'm assuming knock out and some other random slug perk that the data show is being use will be nerf. killers will double down on that tactic like always and then we will eventually get a basekit solution

Some interesting notes:
The hours played seems to only take into account actual match time, not time spent in lobbies. Compared to my recap, SteamDB says I have ~600 hours of game time this year. That's over half my time in queues and menus!
I escaped ~44% of all my matches, which is pretty decent I think! I play a lot of solo and considering the average survival rate is 40%, I think I'm doing a pretty good job so far.
In my killer matches, I got ~8 hooks per game (I think it was like 7.8 something). Killer has always been my better role in all my time playing so this doesn't surprise me too much, but I'm still impressed x3
My estimations of being a 40/60 Survivor/Killer main are pretty much bang on too, with a ~37/63% ratio between the roles.
What did your year in DBD look like?
this is super dope and glad to see u still going strong in dbd. 44% excape rate nothing to laugh at. Legion main cool
man I'm refreshing my email but no stats yet 😟

I also was the one, who said that Drama is basicly old DH for distance and I have a lot of value from it in first month after release. And got replies with meaning "you stinky killer main can't prove me that this perk is good". And it took 1,5 years to survivors only players to realise it's actually strong perk.
Stay with us and in the next episodes of our show "Why you should never listen to survivor main says that new perks are bad" we will discuss that Lucky Star is amazing for soloq, Troubleshooter extremely underrated, there are a lot of fun builds with Parental Guidance, how healing perks are game changing now and boons considered "bad" by community is the only thing which keeps this mechanic from nerfs. With your humble "killer main" show host fussy.Well you was definitely ahead of the curve on dramaturgy. I agree a lot of perks that come out isn't that bad but people don't give them the time of day. Everything look bad when you comparing it to the top meta and that what most players do.

The best thing you can do against a survivor running this combo is to tunnel them off the hook so that they can't heal. That effectively removes half their build. There's no reason to let them heal and get their Finesse and DH for distance back
🤣🤣🤣 honestly tunneling/gen rushing being the answer to every problem in this game is hilarious.
The vast majority who run that combo bring resurgence. So you going to have to actually camp them as well or they likely be full health in a few seconds

They will probably walk it back after a couple of events of testing. I have no clue why any sane survivor will play with a bot. They run around the map 90% of the game caught in a endless loop of trying to excape the Terror radius. Any split pressure to the board and bot basically never do gens

Stats and DBD are like oil and water. But it is always good to work on improving.
Anyway, OP. This is a common issue at the moment and BHVR is diligently working on it*!
*: I hope
yeah it nothing u really can do but try to improve in weaker areas. It not like the matchmaking gonna get any better magically. It's up to you to pick up the dead weight of the team but unfortunately in solo queue that pretty tall task

Average solo queue escape rate is 40%. If you’re consistently escaping at a far lower rate, then you should be focusing on improving your own skills rather than demand that survivors be buffed/and or killers be nerfed.
The kill rates say that current freddy & pig are top 5. I think it's safe to say that the statistics is not telling the full story or any story.
Hatch escapes hardly feel like a win and DC's game are thrown out the window. They don't want to include disconnects games for balancing reasons which is understandable. However they should show us the DC's rates for survivor/killer. As of right now players think you going to go into solo queue and go four and six...

I get that she is weak, and she was buffed for good reason. And a lot of the time, she's okay to play against. But there is zero penalty for her to just spam teleport to mori survivors early. Its like Tombstone Michael, but far worse, because at least Michael has to do a boat load of stalking to unlock his power. I just had yet another Onryu match where the killer with a Midwich offering just spammed TP until she got a mori at 4 gens. I was playing solo, and post match the other random survivors thought maybe hacking, but I'm not sure.
Condemn should work the way Michael's Tombstone does. It shouldn't be possible to just delete survivors early in match.Getting condemn in mainly under the control of the survivor. Greeting gens is what get survivors kill against sadako most of the times.
TS peice is broken it's no comparison.
-
just play 20 games. went 8-12
Nine people DC/suicides in twenty matches. only one match had two DC's. Most of them did it at four gens. Three survivors DC, two kill themselves, 1 oni left, a pig, a sadako, and one Prestige 100 blight streamers. Again the mode a complete joke
Honestly I should start a petition protesting solo q conditions. Please bring shuffle or 2v8 back soon.

Why are you down on solo survivor? 45% is pretty good, not far off 50/50 which would be perfect balance. I was at 48% escape rate as solo survivor yesterday, but I've been on a bad losing streak today, so its down to 45.8% and falling. I think the game is well balanced and mostly fun, even solo survivor. My only criticism is I wish it was more consistent. Instead its more like I will go a day or two winning nonstop, then a day or two of straight losing. It comes in waves.
Because your skill and build doesn't matter enough in solo q. You at the mercy of a terrible matchmaking system. The games is already decided 9 out of 10 times before the match start. If it's four competent survivors on a team you probably win and anything else will probably likely be a L. Rather the Killer tunnel, slug, camp, or even marco pressure it feel the same in my opinion. All these things constantly test the decision making of every teammate. Do u understand the killers camping or you going to waste time looking at them do it? Someone just got push and chase away from a nearly completed important gen will any other survivor rotate to pressure that gen? Do everyone understand to die away from objectives (hooks and nearly completed gens)?
One bad player in this game is way too much of a detriment. All it take is one person dying right under a hook survivor and the game fall apart. It's way too easy to snowball off of one mistake. A lot of times you don't even feel that the killer was any good in chase they just won through playing smart.

@WholesomeNebula said:
For people who track their own statistics and are primarily solo survivor players, what is your escape/sacrifice ratio? If you track total match stats, I would also be interested to see what the average survivor escape rate is (the team as a whole) vs your personal solo stats. Has BHVR recently released survival stats broken down by solo vs SWF?
For me personally, of the last 645 matches I've tracked in solo queue, the average team escape rate is 55.44%. My personal escape rate as a solo survivor 45% out of those same 645 matches. So a 10% drop from the average. I am interested if my experience is similar to others, as I was surprised the average escape rate was so high. Not surprised my own escape rate is so much lower.
Unrelated but I also started tracking how often survivors give up (DC or end themselves on hook). Of the last 112 matches, its happened 13 times (11.6% of matches). Of those, 9 of them were hooks, 4 were DCs.My excape rate 45% this month but I'm sure it will plummet back down after grade reset. For some reason all the clowns just abruptly stop killing themselves in my games but I'm sure it just a lucky streak. Out of my last 100 games there been very few suicide but my opinion on solo q remain the same. The mode complete dog s*** and that the nicest way i could put it. I mainly stick to just killer and 2v8 survivor when it available.

I don't understand where the enjoyment comes from using a perk that plays the game for you. It guides you to exactly where you need to go. Where is the fun when you don't need to think about your chases at all?
"Where is the fun when you don't need to think about your chases at all?" Running into deadzones and dying isn't fun . Most survivors play this game because they like looping the killer and window help very much with that. Now i think looping without windows or exhaustion feel much more rewarding skill wise but that isn't easy to do. I ran windows for probably about 1000 hours before i learn every map back in 2022. These days it's even more maps with less resources.

I'm not gonna play like that but slugging clearly better than hooking on many killers right now. He not playing toxic at all! but it definitely terrible to verse in solo q. The survey suggest that slugging will probably get touch eventually just like 3genning & camping did.

Killer mains! What are some ways that you take it upon yourself to make the trials more fun for Survivors? Do you play a jump-scare Killer? Do you chase with the purpose of causing suspense and angst while maybe “missing” a swing here or there 😉? Perhaps maybe you love letting the terror radius do the “terrorizing” for you?
Regardless, to those Killer mains that actually do care about Survivor fun, how do you go about doing it?
Personally for me I don’t take every chase that I can, and sometimes I break chase for no reason to create an environment of paranoia. Sometimes I will use the Terror Radius to tease Survivors that I’m around. Obviously when gens aren’t being completed as fast then I won’t kick them anymore. There’s more like not sacrificing Survivors if they have an event item stuff like that. My personal favorite when holding a death hook Survivor is to dance around the hook threatening that I’m going to hook them only to let them wiggle free and run away 😂
So Killers, at least those that like to do more than just sacrifice, what are some ways that you play with your food- Hahahaha 😅 I mean, what are some ways that you enhance the trials for the other players?

If I'm queueing up to win, then nothing. I just get to work.
If I'm in the mood to two hook each and farm then I have different things…
Just now I played as Wesker and we went to Dead Dawg. I played bartender in the main building for the survivors.
Sometimes I play super try hard to fool them into thinking they're all going to die, then nod at them that they may survive.
I always do what I call "Volunteer Killer" when the new Tome pages open. It's easy to guess the challenges they may be doing so I let them stun me or make sure they can safely unhook teammates, ect.

I agree with this.
I have always said that East is kinda balanced in bad way and West is survivor sided, but seems like most survivor in last year teached how to play here and on some killers you need to play scammy here or accept lose against on some killers.
Overall yeah, it's not great map for both sides. At least it's not old RPD, on which I instantly DC'd on both sides simply because there was no gameplay, the map didn't fit in DBD gameplay in slightest.
The original RPD was cartoonishly bad and a perfect example of why u can't just dump a map into another game unchange. Also definitely agree with the fact that you have to play dirty. There's usually 0 reason not to hook a survivor in the middle of the main hall and proxy camp them with the 3gen.
-
@TwinsMain2004 said:
I loathe both variants
I think they both embody everything killers hate
Survivors lose Los very easily
Most pallets are not mindgamable and need to be broken or create god loops
Quite a few god pallets if were being honest with ourselves
heavily favour shift w play styles
Wide gen spreads
Lots of spots for good lithes and balanced landings
And just in general lots of places to waste a killers without doing much on the survivor side of things
The map is also quite big TBH you may disagree but eh whatever
The only redeeming quality is the 2 gens in the middle of the hallway, but ever since the 8 gen limit was introduced and the fact that 2 survivors can do a gen in 40 seconds flat or just bring toolboxes yea… it's not that viable anymore to hold a 3 gen there
It's not so bad on stealth killers or someone like pig maybe
But if the survivors have a brain i feel like unless i play out of my mind it's a 2k at best and most likely a 1k
People say east wing is killer sided but i don't think they thought of that themselves and are only mimicking otz map tier list which is quite outdated at this point and honestly one of his tier lists I've seen some very questionable choices
I main Dracula now and RPD and the game are the only maps where I question my life choices playing Dracula
i think RPD slightly favor survivors but i can definitely name terrible things on the survivor side too. Way to easy to bottle neck the main lobby. Making it extremely easy to camp hooks from a distance. Guaranteed built in 3 gen. Every single Loop is a low wall meaning you must shift w vs trickster, xeno, huntress, slinger, and most of the time nemesis. Outside is long stretch that complete trash against catch up killers (blight, billy, chucky,Dracula, spirit, wesker,). Way too many choke points for trap killers. Then you have the classic indoor problems. Easy to break line of sight which benefit survivors/stealth killers, random terror radius confusion, and random hook confusions as sometimes you can't tell if it behind a wall or not.
-
Jason usually presented as this unstoppable tank (especially in the later movies) so i think he should be able to just rush through resources with ease. Walking through breakable walls and down pallet with only slight speed hinder, a non stackable enduring againststuns at basekit, and the ability to destroy standing pallets. I know a lot of them things would be problematic with perks and strategies but i feel Jason should be primarily a M1 110 tank that hard to stop. He should be simple and not over complicated (kinda like the older killers). Behavior track record with license killers in my opinion is pretty good. They embody the sneakiness of chucky, methodical approach of Ghostface, the menacing presence of Myers, and the wild savagery of bubba.
-
@radiantHero23 said:
As someone that disliked the perks change im still not happy with it. I agree, that it's not as strong as a lot of people (including me) thought it might be.
My criticism still stands though. This perk punishes the killers that already struggle. A strong killer like Wesker, Spirit, Plague or Dracula, not to mention Blight or Nurse, have no problems with injuring survivors fast. Killers like Trapper, Freddy, Myers or Pig however often struggle with getting the first hit in chase.
i overrated it as well. Thought it would be crazy but it just solid. Much like hyperfocus it's one of them perks that give little value unless you play it completely perfect.
