It actually used to deteriorate by itself if you could break line of sight with Ghostface but it made him feel really weak as he was wasting a lot of time if survivors just kept running away.
-
A lot of frustration comes from Survivors controlling whenever he can use his power or not. That coupled with his generic M1 115% killer stats makes him pretty underwhelming in a chase.
He's not a killer who's valid in the higher ranks. He's simply not a good killer if the survivors want to win.

@se05239 some games like Warframe often times updates their versions on different dates, so they keep their versions separate. DBD though releases content ot the same time across the board though. I don't see how cross platform play HERE would be different than let's say, fortnight, where ppl on their phones play against ppl on PC.
@LordGlint Like I said. This is a question better answered by Peanits or someone else Community Manager-y. Dead by Daylight has a history of weird design decisions, I cannot understand or answer them all. Things that makes sense in a lot of games all over the world are foreign concepts to Dead by Daylight.

I have 770 hrs.
i don't believe they need a nerf, i do however understand the outcry which is why i proposed this.
@se05239 i know it does but i've seen the outcry. thats why i proposed a solution.
@Maelstrom10 Your solution ain't worth it.

@se05239 as far as exclusives, they can simply do what other games have and make him look like a default other character, like dwight, to console players. As far as the keyboard and mouse thing... Ppl are playing with controllers against keyboard and mouse users on PC right now. What's the difference between THOSE ppl and console players?
@LordGlint What you suggest have been suggested before. And yeah, I think some are using controllers on PC already, why I wouldn't know.
I guess its also the matter of FPS and how easy it is to keep all platforms on the same version? PC can be updated whenever but both console versions can take weeks before an update goes through.
Seriously though. I only know so much, you're probably better off trying to get a proper answer out of Peanits or Not_Queen. Just @ them in case you want to ping anyone of the two.

Does that not just lead to game imbalance that frustrates all players at both high and low ranks, though?
@TAG Definitely. If you make changes for the lowest of ranks then the highest of ranks are gonna change even more extremely. Making it easier for newbie survivors to survive will make it even easier for the most experience survivors to survive.
And a result of that we're already seeing as most survivors in the purple/red ranks have a very "yolo" style of gameplay where they throw themselves at whatever because they're so safe.
Meanwhile the opposite is true for killers. As killers are designed to be "fun" for new players, they suffer severely when faced against experienced ones. That's why there's only 3-5 killers being played in the purple/red ranks.

@se05239 any particular reason why pc- console can't happen?
@LordGlint Mouse + Keyboard > Controller
And also PC exclusives, like Bill.
-
PC - Console will never happen but Xbox - PS4 might.
I'd prefer it if all platforms could play together as it'd help a lot with matchmaking issues on the console end of the game.
-
This feels really unnecessary. There are more pressing things that need a looking at than Moris.

@se05239 I'm surprised you didn't add anything for hitting survivors with the bottle directly, as of now it does nothing besides gaining extra Bloodpoints and when using that one ultra rare add-on
@SpacingLlamas No one suggested anything besides having the Redhead's Pinky Finger add-on by default in the thread, so that's the one I put on my list.
Feel free to leave a suggestion in the thread.

There should never be a punishment for wanting to play with friends.
Give an incentive for killers/solo survivors to play with SWFs instead. Add a lobby indicator and a BP reward for playing with them.

No because toxic SWF was abusing it with the combination of 2 other second chance perks and an exhaustion perk

Because it makes sense to balance around ranks 10-20 because that's where the majority is.
Checked steam's global achievements for Dead by Daylight? Only 4% of survivors ever reached to Rank 1 and only 2% of all killers got there. Only 10% of all survivors reached rank 10 and a mere 5% of killers reached it.
A huge majority of players float around rank 10-20.
-
Killer:
- SWFs
- Survivors Disconnecting
- Map Design favoring survivors.
Survivor:
- Survivors Disconnecting
- SWFs
- Killers have no real reason to not tunnel and camp anyone they catch.

What's a toxic killer in your eyes, @StevoDasher101?

I didn't say all the op addons should stay as they should be did I? I simply understand the amount of bps have to be poured into killer to get a set of 'op' add-ons. Hell I have probably done 20 bloodwebs trying to get a judith's tombstone so I can try Evil Incarnate and HOPE that I don't get dcing players.
@Jdsgames I don't see why you'd nerf the majority of all good add-ons in order for this change to be implemented. Seems like a lot of effort for a negative change. I rather have a few rare powerful add-ons than drowning in mediocre ones.

good idea i said them to be guaranteed so killers dont say its op or smth with the cange but id rather yours tbh
I doubt anyone would say that Auto-Didact is OP even with your suggestion of guaranteed skill-checks because Auto-Didact only works without medkits, it can never affect you yourself and its a net-negative until you've gotten 3+ stacks so you can never use it for emergency healing when the killer's closing in.
-
They could buff the overall chance of getting skill-checks when healing someone else. Guaranteed skillchecks are cool and all but with increased chance for more, you're probably going to end up with more skill-checks overall and therefore more stacks for Auto-Didact.

Truth, I think this bothers me more than the actual bug.
Legion players got hit for using certain exploits to the point it was announced it big flashy red letters at the top of the forum.
But concerning wake up? Silence.....
That's really starting to bother me.
@FrenziedRoach Eh, its a double standard thing. Imagine the outcry if survivors risked getting banned for exploiting something. It'd affect a lot of players. The forums would be filled with "why i got ban" threads and such, plus a review bombing.

They need to make being fully sick more punishing in order to promote people cleansing. Right now, it's like playing against a M1 Noed killer and if you can loop, a M1 killer isn't an issue. Push gens and get out, that's the current tactic survivors use when facing the Plague.
-
Hopefully it will be.
Survivors shouldn't get a pass when killers exploiting add-ons are prone to punishment.

Think of how a White-Ward works. You use it for when you die aka Lose get annihilated etc. If a killer wins/loses they lose the add-ons regardless, however, a survivor does not. Therefore a black ward is weaker than a white ward in terms of what they do.
If you bring in say a green toolbox with add-ons you will escape with them. Killer can 4k and kill everyone even with low-tier add-ons and still lose them. Therefore it isn't a fair mechanic. Between 4 survivors there are over 80k points in a pool per map. A killer is capped at 31,400 bps I believe per match. To get bps as a survivor you have to complete the gens and such as quickly as possible and escape. While a killer to get max bps has to stall the game.
Idea
When a killer 4ks they have a 100% chance of keeping at least one of the add-ons used. 50% Chance at keeping the second. (RNG) which addon.
When a killer 3ks they have a 50% chance of keeping at least one of the add-ons used. (Lower Rarity Preferred) 25% Chance at keeping the second.
Disconnects should reward both add-ons back would prevent impossible myers achieve at this point.
@Jdsgames You do realize that your suggestion would mean that killers use their best add-ons since it'd give them the best chance to 4k more often? Do you really wanna face an insta-down hatchet Huntress everytime you end up in a trial as a survivor? I wouldn't.
Killers need to lose their add-ons after every trial, unless they burn a Black Ward. That's just how it should be. Their add-ons are supposed to be strong and game-changing so letting them keep one or both after a good game.. that shouldn't happen. It'd just cause the circle to happen again, and again, and again.
-
Whisper is already a really powerful perk.
It tracks alive survivors and should keep doing that, hooked or not.
-
Survivors learnt that circling the hook made killers stick around and with the killer being unable to leave the hook due to survivors literally watching them like vultures, the person on the hook had their sacrifice progression slowed down to a crawl while some gen-jocky finished the generators.
-
@FrenziedRoach said:
Remove perk levels - all perks are bought at their current level 3.
Your grind just got reduced by 2/3rds
Like what @FrenziedRoach said, removing perk tiers would remove a lot of grind.
Boosting the amount of Bloodpoints you can earn would also reduce the grind, in a way. I made a thread a long while back where I suggested a rework of the bloodpoint offerings, to reduce them from 15 (16 for survivors) to only 8 for either side while also boosting the bloodpoint gain.
Most bloodpoint offerings are garbage, with only the puddings/cakes and party streamers being worth using.
Here's a link to that thread → https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/46827/a-rework-of-bloodpoint-offerings

I made a Clown related thread a while back where I collected buff suggestions. He definitely needs something because he's VERY underwhelming without add-ons. He doesn't feel like a threat, most of the time.
Here's a list of all suggestions in the thread:
- Minor exhaustion debuff part of base gas. Would require survivors to "take a breather", aka stop running away (thus letting the Clown close in faster) if they want exhaustion gone.
- Intoxication duration increases based upon time spent in the gas.
- Remove the grunting he makes when he vaults a window. It'd allow him so more freedom when it comes to playing mind-games.
- Reduced reload duration.
- Release clouds of gas while reloading.
- No slowdown while throwing.
- Increased intoxication duration (Eether 10 or 15 by default).
- Increased slow effect (Flask of Bleach by default).
- Generators inside gas automatically start regressing if there's no survivor working on them.
- More bottles, more fun.
- Exposure effect on survivors hit by a bottle (Redhead's Pinky Finger add-on by default)

Ruin - BBQ - Save the Best for Last - Pop Goes the Weasel
-
Depending on your rank, going for Adept achievements right after rank reset is best because you'll be lower in ranks and the 2 pip requirement will be much lower.
-
Survivor fun is more important than killer efficiency, that's a line I've been saying since a long time. That's just how it is. The fact that a lot of players don't even play killer outside dailys doesn't help it.
-
Nurse isn't that hard to counter to be honest, you just need to go more stealth instead of the "LOL YOLO" playstyle of running mindlessly in circles.
-
Sorry to burst your bubble dude but that this very idea has been suggestion thousands of times and it has been TESTED OUT IN A PTB.
Survivors ended up abusing it and it was scrapped.
-
We'll most likely not see one until next week, sadly. Looks like another weekend with broken perks to ruin everyone's time playing.
-
The only ways to make Ruin less mandatory for most killers are either to buff the majority of the weaker killers up to the same tier as the good ones, or rework maps so that weaker killers can perform well.
-
Hey, at least they cannot take the game hostage anymore. So there's that, at least.
-
The easiest way to reduce her Terror Radius would be to use Monitor and Abuse to lower it to 12 meters outside chases.
@razaluna said:
the humming is always 45 meters and is directional, her base TR is 20 meters, with monitor and abuse it's 12 meters out of a chase and 28 in a chase, and the new furtive chase at 4 stacks makes it a 4 meter TR while in a chase.
Like how @razaluna said, you could also use Furtive Chase to reduce your in-chase Terror Radius but don't use both perks together since it's counter productive.

@GrootDude said:
@se05239 even solo players are abusing it, I’ve faced and had people on my team abusing it. Even if they can’t add it to the hotfix just disabling it temporarily would help.
@GrootDude Well aware but SWFs tend to end up all over the place with the current matchmaking because each member have a different rank.
The matchmaking has an easier time with solos.
-
One of the best QoL thing Trapper can get is the ability to reset traps without having to pick them up first. Trapper have to waste so much time picking up a trap first in order to arm it..
-
@Peanits Will you drop a hotfix before the weekend? I mean, you just went free-2-play for the weekend and now a lot of new players are gonna suffer from SWFs exploiting the bug..
-
Via email or something? I dunno.

He's definitely not OP. Give him a few weeks then we'll see how strong he is.

Some killers were also abusing the Tinkerer 2 bug in the past. Did they get banned for it? Can't quite remember.
In case people are wondering what they're talking about..
Back in the day there was a bug relating to the second tier of the Tinkerer perk. Once triggered, the killer lost his terror radius PERMANENTLY for the rest of the trial instead of the normal.. 10 seconds or so? Was pretty broken.

Its done so that completionists who feel like they need to have anything must buy several items more than technically necessary. Its a pretty common microtransaction tactic to exploit people who've struggles holding on to their wallets.

I'd say Clown or Doctor but I am kinda baised. Neither is good in the higher ranks without massive investment.
