BHVR after doing all of the above: "Hmm, kill rates are too low, let's increase gen times by another 20 seconds, that'll help!"
-
The issue on both sides is mainly due to SBMM. The game has gotten drastically less fun since they implemented that and they won't do anything about that being the real issue.
-
100% agree, the old forums were miles ahead in terms of readability and general UI usefulness.
-
All this new information will be very useful when I'm being camped and tunneled for the third game in a row! /s

Or, and bear with me on this, Survivors can accept that their opponent has the same right to win that they have and stop whining about how 'unfun' and 'unfair' it is to lose to 'cheap tactics'?
The only ones who will leave are the ones who invent any excuse to avoid admitting they got out played, and the player base as a whole will become healthier for it.
Sure, getting camped and then tunneled directly off the hook definitely gives me the opportunity to outplay the killer by burning through at most 5 pallets/loops before I get downed and hooked again. The entire purpose of video games is to have fun. If people aren't having fun, why should they keep playing?
-
That's why the devs have you lock in your challenge before you start matchmaking: so they can match you against killers that prevent you from getting that challenge done so you have to play longer and keep their player metrics up for investors/partners.
-
It's never been good, but it has gotten consistently worse.
-
I mean, by all means, tunnel away. The more killers that camp and tunnel, the more survivors quit the game and eventually it'll get shut down due to lack of players and we'll all be free of this torment.
-
Another reminder that this is still a terrible challenge and it shouldn't have been in the latest tome and shouldn't be in any tomes going forward.
-
Yeah, killers are acting like they already opened their Christmas stocking and found it full of coal. I've been camped and tunneled 4 games in a row so far tonight and I doubt it'll get any better as time goes on.
-
I've played probably 15 games as him thus far going for the Adept and he is just not cut out for it, especially with his perks barely helping.

thanks! will just play casual killer matches then, wonder if hitting the base kit BT works?
That was my guess and how I've probably been getting progress on it.
-
Stuck in adept hell as usual. The knight seems to be even tougher than the other recent killers in terms of adepts, especially with the new map spawning 30 pallets.
-
The guards are useful for breaking pallets or gens, in a chase all you do is block off the current loop and the person you're chasing will just run to one of the 15 others on the map (45 if it's the new map)
-
Love to get rolled every game while trying to get adept on this low tier killer. Even if you do the optimal play of instadropping your guard, the survivors just run to any of the other 50 loops with pallets on the new map.
-
Right now it's 100% a killer perk. Your teammates will be on a gen making no progress on it for about 30 seconds just to get instantly hit and lose all their saved up tokens.
-
It's like they decided on purpose to make a map that would make it impossible to see auras even if you aren't colorblind.
-
They don't change achievements after they come out because of some requirement from the garbage console companies. The best you can do is keep bitching in hopes that they never release a similar achievement again.
-
Wish my solo queue teammates knew that, because they're all getting instaggibed on the new map and out of the 5 times I've gone to it thus far, it's been a 4K for the killer.
-
Every chapter is the be toxic chapter. Perks barely make people more toxic than they are normally.
-
Yep, I've gotten robbed by this as well. At this point just hire someone to fix achievement/archive challenge bugs because there's so many constantly.
-
Standard terrible stun-related archive challenge confirmed, as usual.
-
If it ain't bugged, the descriptive text is at least poorly written enough to be a bug.
-
I basically quit this game completely for a month because of how much I hate this achievement, but I'm back for the event and just burned 3 more RPD offerings that I got from my bloodwebs and immediately got camped and tunneled in all 3 games. Please reassign whoever created this achievement to literally any other job function at BHVR so they can't ever come up with something like this again.
-
Love to have the garbage Outbreak Breakout achievement be on the worst map in the game that they somehow made even worse with the updates. Definitely don't want to kill myself IRL every time my solo queue teammates leave me to die on the hook while they escape on that map. /s
-
It's been fun in the very few matches where I'm not immediately camped and tunneled into the ground as survivor.
-
Hopefully a permanent change, but the "hide in the killer's terror radius" instead of "facecamp the killer yourself (within 10 meters)" challenge is great. I can just play the game normally and not have to run around above/below the killer on the Game/Midwich any more to get these done.
-
It's also super annoying when you burn an RPD offering and someone else burns a different map offering and you don't win that coinflip and lose your precious offering as well. I'd have this hellhole achievement done if not for that crap.
-
I've played an RPD map 58 times (all 49 RPD offerings I had and 9 random RPD spawns) thus far and am at 18/20. Burning 46 RPD offerings in a row to try and get progress made me hate life and I haven't played DBD in almost a week as a result.
-
My understanding is that if you survive a long time in the match but still die, then you don't lose as much MMR. Still don't believe it's anything but "time alive in the match" and escapes that count for it, though.
-
Outbreak Breakout is a new level of dumb, hard, and tedious. I've played 58 games of RPD (including 46 games in a row where I burnt offerings) and am still only at 18/20 for that achievement. Now I don't have any RPD offerings and almost never get RPD randomly. It's like we're going back in time in terms of achievement sanity.
Back in the day, the "have 4 players escape through the hatch" achievement was the one that really haunted me. Took me years to wrangle a solo queue lobby in order to finally make it work.
-
I'm at 18/20 after 9 random spawns of RPD and burning 49 RPD offerings to try to complete this. I want to die.
-
I'm fine with it from a killer perspective. Stunning is part of the game and if a survivor wants to drop every pallet instantly to go for the stun instead of trying to loop it for 30 seconds before dropping the pallet, I'm fine with that.
-
The new versions are much too small from a survivor perspective. A killer can easily patrol around the middle gens around the main hall or adjacent rooms and pretty much guarantee a win, especially if they can hook a survivor in that area and camp/tunnel while still being within patrol range of those close gens.
The added paths/openings into rooms are fine as is the new outside corridor. If they were to revert to old size while having more openings, it would be much better.

It's about gamesense... if the Killer kicks a Gen then work on it for like 5-10 seconds then find another Gen to work on
Yes I know Eruption is hard to deal with for Solo's but using gamesense can help a little bit
Or get caught by it one time then think "OK... well (the Killer) has Eruption"
It's one thing to know that the killer has Eruption when early on, you can usually find one gen they haven't kicked. But when it's late game and the killer only has a few gens left and keeps going between them to kick them with Eruption and then get in a chase, do you just not do any gens or get incapacitated and stand around doing nothing?
-
Do you know why you have to select a challenge before starting searching for a match? It's so they can match up your challenge against the hardest possible killer for it if at all possible. That's why for 4 stun challenges you'll face nothing but nurses and huntresses and for healing challenges it's more plagues than you've seen in the past 6 months combined.
-
Neither of them work, revert back to the original version of the map, which, while terrible, wasn't as bad as either of the two new maps.
-
I've played 57 games on this map since the update and they made it way, way too small from a survivor perspective. Unless you can bait the killer away from the main hall long enough to finish the gens close to it, you're completely screwed.
-
@RaSavage42 said:
Or you could Gen tap... to stop the regression then just wait till someone goes down
You know paying attention to how the Killer plays... That's not a Solo nor SWF favored... it's gamesense favored
"Just don't do gens for 5 min, lul". How am I supposed to know what my solo queue teammates are doing? Why should I sit AFK until someone goes down in order to do any gens?
-
Tell BHVR to stop making map specific achievements then, like Outbreak Breakout, so I don't have to burn 46 RPD offerings in a row to try and get it and still come up short.
-
You're definitely correct. I personally have probably thrown a ton of games to try and complete (or at least make a bunch of extra progress) on survivor challenges. 20 totem cleanses? You'd better bet that I'm equipping a totem destroyer build and trying to clear all 5 totems before I do anything else. Hide within 10 meters of the killer for 60 seconds in a single game? Jigsaw piece offering + key w/ blood amber add-on and standing above/below the killer as they're chasing someone else. Do a glyph? 100% running across the entire map as soon as the match starts to hunt that bad boy down. Once I've done everything I need to do for a challenge in a match I'll play normally, but until that point my teammates are probably trying to figure out if they can report me for throwing or not.
Maybe if I played DBD as my only game I wouldn't be as dedicated to clearing the archive challenges as quick as possible, but I do like to play other games as well and the sooner I've cleared out a page of challenges, the sooner I can go play other games.
Sure, BHVR can clean up challenges to make them a lot less dubious for survivors in terms of teammate gameplay, but as long as they exist at all, people are still going to do what they need to do in order to complete them as fast as possible, including rushing hooks, staying on gens for more progress as someone goes into second state on a hook, or escaping as soon as the exit gates are open instead of trying for an end-game rescue.
-
I burned all 46 RPD map offerings I had, so I'm really gonna need either a way to get more RPD map offerings faster or a higher spawn rate on this map in order to finish this achievement.
-
In case anyone was curious about how this was going, I got about 6 survivor matches on RPD before it just stopped spawning for me at all in the normal map rotation, so I went to the 46 RPD offerings I had. After all those 52 games in solo queue survivor on RPD, I am at 18/20 on this achievement. I want to die. All the teammates I left behind just to secure progress on this achievement probably want me to die as well. Please, never, ever, make an achievement requiring this much progress and this many specific conditions on a single map/realm again.
-
I've escaped 2 times in 4 hours of solo queue survivor today. Fun and interactive gameplay confirmed.
-
In case you're wondering how solo queue is doing, I've escaped once in the past 2.5 hours even while sweating my ass off to try to escape.
-
I've been playing solo Q survivor for 2 hours straight and have escaped once, so the devs obviously have matchmaking well under control. /s
-
I think you mean Off the Record should give you two hits instead of one to make up for all the tunneling killers are doing.
-
Probably 2 or so, but I'm on like an 8 game loss streak right now, which is garbage when I'm burning through all my few precious RPD offerings for that moron-designed Outbreak Breakout achievement. It's either my team DCing instantly when downed or a toxic camping tunneler going after me through BT and/or Off the Record.

It's fine just put 1000 more hours into the game and ull get it. (I have all the trophies and it took me 4.2k hours without trophies hunting
Sadly, I'm pretty sure the devs agree with the hour requirements you've listed for achievements.
-
Can't wait to blow all my precious few RPD offerings only to not get any progress towards this massively overtuned achievement.
