Gonna be another nerf to M1 killers, making it even more likely that every single game will be blight/billy/nurse. Enjoy your variety of killers, survivors!
-
It seemed like it was 50% huntress/trickster while I was going for it. Or I only got Coldwind, with its negative number of safe pallets, so killers would just bloodlust for a minute or two rather than try to break a pallet. On the bright side, at least it wasn't "Open the exit gate 20 times on RPD" level of bad.
-
Yep, the number of billys that proxy camp and are back to the hook in about 1 second while in overdrive to instadown the unhooker is through the roof.
-
Yep, just ran into an obviously maphacking billy, that kept instantly beelining to our team even when we were hiding out in the middle of nowhere on the edge of the map. I had distortion and it never triggered once, so it wasn't anything aura related.
-
As for that 30 blinds achievement, it seems like the second I tried going for it, half of the killers I went up against were trickster and huntress.
-
It's whichever side you're not currently playing sided.
-
Cranked that setting up to max instantly. I need all the vision I can get to try and catch whatever nonsense survivors are trying to get away with.
-
I'll usually just play normally, but will let the last survivor get hatch.
-
How could they nerf it more? When you hit the skillcheck it instead stabs another survivor in the game and they lose a health state too?
-
Dodge whoever you want, if the 4 man prestige 100 SWF with 4 flashlights in the lobby is bored of waiting, they can get a book from a public library to entertain themselves in the meantime.
-
Tell BHVR to not make achievements or archive challenges for blinds and I'll go back to medkits instead.

Some advice for this challenge: blinding the killer while they're in the hooking animation counts, as long as you finish the blind before the hook animation ends. Since you're still blinding while they're carrying a survivor, technically.
If you are not confident in your flashlight timing, I also recommend going for pickup blinds as early as possible, you probably won't get the save, but you will not be too late and therefore at least get a blind for your challenge.
Best of luck!
Thank you for the advice, I'll give that a shot.

Don't they want you to do it twice in one match too?
Yeah, that's the most deranged part of the challenge. I could understand having it be either one in a match or two (but not in the same match), but what killer is going to be dumb enough to get blinded TWICE by the same person in a match? All I know is that I'm gonna throw like 50 matches in a row trying for this.
-
Also ran into this bug. Thanks for the info for the workaround, I guess I'll suicide to the killer instantly after getting the challenge to complete so I can get it to stick.
-
I'm glad it's being nuked to the center of the earth.
-
It's not SWFs, it's just the SBMM system being made worse with each additional update to it from the devs.
-
Scratch marks on any type of shortish grass are almost invisible.
-
It's only activating a whopping 4 times in a match at most. It's fine as a perk, it's just solo queue and SBMM being the main issue, as in everything else in this game.
-
One game on Hawkins and I'm already ready to email Netflix begging them to rescind the license.
-
I'll trade you Ultimate Weapon for Made For This any day.
-
I fully expect MFT to be untouched for at least another 6 months, guaranteeing even more nurses/blights/etc. to get around it.

That doesn't sound healthy.
Me taking a break from DBD for a while to play other games that were less stressful was probably healthier than trying to continue to power through it. Mr. Cote himself said "go play civ" if you aren't having fun in DBD, so I'm essentially doing just what the devs intend. :P
I did finally get this challenge done last night when, of course, a killer ragequit after we cleared all their hexes pretty early on.

Do you play more than once a month? How is it even possible to care enough about DBD to do the archives and not be able to escape three times in a month without going down. Do you actively hunt down the killer at the start of every game?
I can concede it's annoying if you're trying to finish it in a day, but a month?
It's more that I got so frustrated with this challenge that I quit playing the game for a month until the event dropped and then started the re-suffering when I came back.
-
Yeah, not sure why it got moved after the loading sequence, but it's super annoying. Should be reverted.
-
Mere seconds from escaping and finally completing this, I get "dedicated server disconnected" so now I've got to spend another 20 games trying to get this done. Imagine fixing your game and making challenges that don't require an SWF to bully a killer into disconnecting!
-
Love to have this happen just as I was about to get my last game done for the "tough stuff" challenge, now I have to play another 10 games against toxic killers and toxic teammates that lead killers to me instantly in hopes that I'll get that challenge done. Fix your game or move to a different cloud provider if they're the issue.
-
Yep, I just lost progress on my very last game I would have needed for the "tough stuff" challenge as a result and I'm about THIS CLOSE to mentally losing it as a result.
-
Make sure and either skip doing any event stuff as killer or be prepared to lose if you do, it's that simple.
-
Thought this game would always be fun and wouldn't turn into a hellish slog.
-
If you do the event as <your role>, you're throwing because 90% of the time, the <other side> isn't doing the event.
-
Almost a month later and this challenge is still garbage and should never be repeated in a future tome.

-
If you're going to have the dumb "get 3 iri unbroken emblems" challenge as survivor, at least make it so we can have other survivor archive challenges active at the same time so I can get progress and am not wasting my time when the killer doesn't afk/dc/isn't a potato/etc.
-
Love to have a challenge that 90% of the time in solo queue will require the killer to afk or rage dc to get progress.
-
Agreed. This challenge is either "the killer was AFK or ragequit" or you had someone run the killer for 5 gens. Patently ludicrous.
-
This challenge is awful and should be removed. The amount of time wasted just hoping a killer messes up at a window or trying to bait out a miss with sprint burst is way too high.
-
If the devs wanted to do something about toxicity, they could. Since they don't, we can only assume they condone it.
-
Depends, if the other teammates are still trying, I'll try to play normally. If my other teammates are giving up, it's time to cleanse dull totems, go for any unhook possible, open chests, etc. I usually am always burning BP offerings and I'm not wasting them.

I'd sooner see both boosted maps and map offerings get permanently removed. Imagine if some godawful hell hole like garden of misery gets boosted? 🤢
Lets face it BHVRs record with new maps has hardly been good in the last few years even if Nostromo is a significant improvement.
It's more about wanting to have a chance to get the map related achievement done on the new map without it taking weeks.
On another note, not sure if I was just unlucky or not on day one, but I've been getting the new map a lot more and it's great to see it that often right now.
-
Ran into a hard tunneling sadako that just chased me around from the moment they saw me to prevent me from getting any tapes so I could clear condemn and then just insta-moried me. Dumbest ######### ever.
-
It's gotten to the point where killers have their profile names set to "<killer name>becauseMFT" and of course they all hard tunnel.

To add some quick clarity, when a new map is released, we boost the chances for the map to appear. This boost only makes it a little more common, but it is not meant to give you the new map every match or even every other match. The boost gradually decreases over the new week until the map is back at its usual chance to appear.
Maps which are boosted are already exempt from map repeat prevention, since preventing the boosted map from appearing would defeat the purpose of boosting the map.
It's a tricky situation. One the one hand, we want people to be able to play the newest maps. But on the other hand, boosting it too much means playing on the same map constantly, which can get stale very quickly. People also want to see how new Killers/perks/etc. perform on other maps. We aim for a middle ground where it's a little more common, but if you really want to see the new map, your best bet is to use the offering to guarantee it.
When I play all night long but only get the new map to show up a single time, maybe the boost chances are a bit too low, especially when I get Azarov's realm maps 3 times in a row. Or at least, boost the map offering chances for the new map a ton in blood webs when you're boosting the map chances so we have the option to get some that way.
-
I mean, the camping solution as shown was a start, but you're still gonna get permatunneled the second you're off the hook, just like how it is today.
-
As I keep saying, matchmaking is the real issue. As in, there isn't any, despite what BHVR would like us to believe. The algorithm exists, but it is concentrated on queue times instead of skill, so the games where people are instasuiciding on the hook are often those where the entire survivor team is overmatched completely and your teammates are just giving up as a result. If BHVR even tried to revamp matchmaking a bit to actually care more about skill, game quality would improve a ton.
-
Yeah, I don't think they care about a random IGN article about a completely different type of game that isn't going to compete with them in the long term.
-
Absolute garbage map as killer, survivors who burn the offering for it should be sent to jail IRL unless they're going for the "complete the main house gen and escape" achievement.
-
Pinky finger is needed as long as BHVR keeps making "get 4 sacrifices in a single match as Clown" archive challenges, because clown is low-tier otherwise and it'll take you like 10 games to get it otherwise unless SBMM decides to give you potatoes as the survivors you're against.
-
As always, the terrible matchmaking is the real issue. One side or the other is getting stomped because the matchmaking algorithm doesn't even pretend to match up skill, it's all about queue time. Thus, either gens get done in 5 seconds because the killer is overmatched, or the survivors are dropping so fast they think they're getting tunneled when they're just completely overmatched. BHVR could fix a ton of problems with this game if they just fixed matchmaking instead of pretending that's not the main problem and nerfing Pig or Nemesis addons or whatever they do these days.
-
It's because matchmaking is god awful. Half the games you've got to sweat because you're up against a god squad way out of your skill level and the other half of the games you come into them super sweaty because the god squads have just bullied you for five games in a row only to find you're up against brand new players and you either rage stomp them or just get no enjoyment because they're all dropped after 5 seconds of chase. If matchmaking was programmed to make queues take longer to evenly match games then you could have good games that might come down to the last second for both sides instead of the stomps we have now, making your skill actually worth something.
-
This is absolutely the wrong take. Matchmaking needs to take even longer to get actual evenly skilled games instead of the current seesaw between 4k and 4 escapes every game because the algorithm tries to jam everyone in a game in 5 seconds with almost 0 regard to the already dubious MMR ranking they apply to players.
