Be honest.
Probably I'll opt out of that, but from time to time I'll try to go against SWFs if I really feel I need a gigantic challenge.

To the PC killers, if you're going to play huntress to try and make console survivors lives miserable, please have the skills to back it up. A key board mouse can only do so much.
Sincerely,
A survivor who has gone against 7 pc huntresses back to back with terrible aim.
Even playing huntress with Iri addon is not an insta-win.
For example I have a decent aim in FPS games, but I suck at huntress.
Is not about aim in general terms, is about knowing how to aim in DbD. Aiming in this game feels really different than aiming at a FPS.
Still it just needs practice, but I won't play killers that I don't like even if they "are op" like huntress, billy, nurse...etc.
-
Benefits are pretty much shorter queue times, nothing more.
Also if you have friends on other platforms, it's an advantage.
if you are playing PC killer you'll have easier matches but don't tell this to anybody -
I've already noticed a little change in queue times.
Hours ago I found games in few seconds, now I spend some minutes.
I guess console players realized the big difference when facing PC killers hahaha.

So basically we just dont play cross cause pc wont take into account that they are playing nonpc players and they want to have the advantages that comes while consoles which have an option to not play with pc only they can still enjoy crossplay
I wouldn't mind if console players had an option to opt out of cross play specifically with PC players.
They are like 2 different universes.

I'll never understand people like this. Not people sweating, but people who try to play it like everyone's like them and that they're so cool and they're part of some videogame gang or something. Just comes off as pathetic.
"Videogame gang"?
-
As always, survivors are more toxic than killers from my own experience.
I always try to keep my end chat the less toxic as possible tho.
-
To me Doc is one of the most fun killers to play, just that. Also legion, ghostface..etc.
Usually high tier killers are boring to me.
-
What the hell boi
-
Steve from minecraft? Did you smoke something?
-
Killers having weak connections can be viewed sometimes on the survivor end as "cheating".
-
The smaller the map, the better.
-
Are you playing at rank 1?
-
I'm a PC killer main and it's funny because for me, usually "god tier" killer are boring to me. Nurse, hillbilly and that stuff.
But I've been trying cross play and I can easily beat 4 console survivors with almost every killer in the game.
This is not something about killers being sweaty, is about the differences between console and PC. You just can't compare both platforms unless you are like a really god survivor on console. PC will always have advantages.
Also, I don't need to have mercy for console players because they have the option of "turning off cross play". If they left that on, then that's not my problem.
Since I guess you are a survivor console player, I will explain to you how it is the average killer main on PC.
We usually don't play to get a 4k, but to get a merciless/ruthless killer, peak performance. This means, that we will usually have no mercy in any situation just to get our best scoring possible.
We always play using our brain, map control, map pressure, and logic everytime. This means, we won't take into account survivor's feelings.
But of course, at the end of the game, I will say gg to those who played fair and showed skill.
And we will show no respect to those who acted cocky or showing no respect towards us.
As simple as this.
-
For now I'm ok with it. I think that's karma, I guess?
In the past with the horrible matchmaking killers got into lobbies of 4 red rank SWFs even being brown ranks.
Survivors had a lot of fun, now we can have fun. I have nothing against it.
If they don't want cross play, they should turn it off. I'm not going to have any mercy.
-
So basically a new mask for myers.
-
At least for PC killer queue times are A LOT shorter.
Also, games against console players are A LOT easier.
I won't turn it off until I have had some fun :)))).
-
Easy.
I always skip survivor ones because I'm a main killer so I don't like playing survivor :P

Slugging 4 people is still not a cakewalk.
I've seen people do Slug Races while waiting out the timer, though, and that is pretty entertaining to see.
One guy lined us all up and let the winner get the hatch @_@
The hellllll HAHAHAHAHAH. That should be fun.
Using the new knock out can be fun to see at ultra low speed. Gotta try it.

https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Decisive_Strike
Here is it the wiki.
And actually yes, this piece of text says: "Succeeding or failing the Skill Check will disable Decisive Strike".
But it doesn't say something like for the whole game.
I'm not a main survivor so I don't know this for sure, but I remember that I tried the perk once they changed it, and I kinda thing I used it twice tho, once per unhook.
It will be nice if somebody can confirm me this please.

DS can only be used once. If you fail or succeed the skill check the perk is disabled for the rest of the match.
Sure? I think that I could use it twice when I played survivor one time.

This.
I prefer that the chat is removed from the game, I assure you that you will NOT always see "ggs" after the game.
Actually, I always try to stay chill and not toxic. But well, survivors will always flame.
-
Give more chat options and you'll see more toxicity. It's enough with the end game toxicity.
-
I think DS needs to work exactly the way it works now (after an unhook to avoid tunneling), but it needs to have just 1 use as it used to work in the past.
Nowadays you can use DS twice, which gives you 120 seconds of invulnerability, that's why is so strong.
If the perk had 1 use like unbreakable, it would be balanced.
Unbreakable can be strong in really tight situations, also DS. So why DS has 2 uses and unbreakable 1? This is the issue in my opinion.
-
When I face console survivors my matches are a lot easier.
He is not wrong tho.
-
That perk is legit awesome. Can stop survivors from playing overconfident.
-
I don't think it's a killer sided map. It's kinda big tho.
Also my performance in this map has not been the best, because the map itself is kinda confusing (at least for me).
-
@johnmwarner said:
Man, as a solo survivor these perks are both a blessing and a curse... mostly a curse.
You get chased for a couple minutes, wonder why no gens are popping, go down and SIGH you see two teammates crouching behind a bush halfway across the map and one actually doing a gen.
Or you're working on a gen, see a teammate get hooked across the map and Kindred shows you one teammate hiding behind a tree afraid to go for the save but yet unwilling to just leave and do a gen. Meanwhile the last teammate pops out of a locker like 20 seconds later well well past BBQ hiding time.
And this is at red rank, I know ranks don't matter but come on by red you have enough hours to not do this... or do you?
Ranks matter, I have always thought this no matter what people say.
The problem is that 20 ranks don't actually show the real skill level of players. We'd need like 10 or 20 more ranks.
Also, resetting the ranks each month is too quick for me. Maybe every 3 months would be okay.
The only scenario where ranks don't matter, is at rank reset. After this, ranks matter.
-
That's actually the point of slugging build. Make survivors angry and get salt in the post-game chat.
Obviously slugging is boring has hell, but it's fun to do if you are done and tired of getting 4 red rank swfs.

No way that's the smartest comment. I've seen smarter. Here is an example: "Taco Cat spelled backwards is Taco Cat"
ok you made my day
-
I don't know if you are a killer or survivor main, but if you are a killer main just starting out, you'll just get used to it.
Eventually, you'll learn to play by your rules, not by their rules.
For example, camping and tunneling can be justified in certain scenarios. Every strategy the killer has, can be justified.
Tip as a main killer here: play for performance, not for kills. This means, aim to get a merciless/ruthless killer.
I was also once a newbie, and I played for getting a 4k. Then, you realize that you can get a 4k but not the peak performance. Which means, you can kill 4 people but you could have played better.
Also, if you play aiming for peak performance, you'll become a less toxic player. I give you my word.
-
There's enough toxicity in the post game chat. Why do you want more?
-
Emotes could be a dangerous thing for this game imo.
I wouldn't be against the addition of them tho. But each emote would have to be really thought to not be...out of the "terror game" theme.
-
Imo farming is a big waste of time because if you play normally, you already get a decent amount of bps.
Also, there's a 32k base bloodpoint cap, and if you played normally, you get like...24k or so?
I don't think it's worth my time for just 10k more.
-
@DBD_Pinhead said:
No one is talking about her because survivors finally got their way and had her nerfed to the ground. They don't want to be threatened so now that she's out of commission, they just pivot to the next target.
Smartest comment I've seen in my life
-
Just saying that when I encounter console players I know that game will be at least easier than against PC survivors.
And the games always are easier.
Whether you like it or not, there's a difference between console and PC.
-
To me crossplay has 2 benefits:
- Shorter queue times
- Easier matches for killer
Some time ago I created a twitter thread recording queue times as killer + time of the day (note that I'm from Spain). This thread is a bit "outdated" because I just started tweeting againg since the MMR system came out. I just added like 2 or 3 new tweets tho.
But still, comparing the whole list and the newest tweets, you can see that actually there has been a change in time.
I'm really happy about this, because long queue times were certainly an issue in this game. Sometimes I literally had to wait 15 minutes to get a match, was awful.
And lastly about easier matches you know, when you play on PC like me and you find 2 or 3 console players you are happy. Is not fair but hey, I had to suffer in the past a lot getting the whole time red rank survivor SWFs in the game. I think this is called "karma".
-
Never worry about "camping".
If you want to do it, just do it and don't take into account survivors' feelings.
But also take into account that camping will get you less scoring.
-
Lmao I always play the same.
Even tho I've played killer for a long time I never really realized that no obsessions mean no DS also.
My playstyle is kinda the same as tru3. Using logic, my brain, not going for a 4k, going for a merciless killer.
-
I feel like this is obvious to me, but not easy to recognize when you play survivor.
To me, Moris are indeed balanced.
Just because for one tiny little thing: you can kill on first hook, which means, you'll get an incredibly low score.
That's the trade off. You can kill fast, at the exchange of earning less points (which btw is not worth it if you are a high level killer, because you play for reaching peak performance, not a 4k).
Moris, just like keys, are there for occasional fun.
Are you tired of an unlucky losing streak? Just throw in a mori/key and cheer up again. In your next games, if your mood is up again, you'll likely not use moris/keys again.
Just think of the frequency you see these type of offerings. I've had days where I literally didn't see a single key. Some days I see 1..sometimes.
These offerings are really not a big deal.
-
MMR system is now disabled? I feel I'm not updated regarding new info

Honestly, I really never understood why every survivor thinks that spirit is SO OP EASY WINSSS OMGGG.
I'm a killer main, I have played since...2018 or so? I can't remember.
And yet, I find spirit one of the most skilled killers to play. Yes, I know, you can use stridor, but still with that perk sometimes you hear the sound so loud, that's difficult to track. Because maybe you think you are near that survivor, but that's not the case.
I have seen other complaints about spirit like "If you have a good headset gg easy". Also, that's not true and that's just salt.
I played spirit with my old stereo headset, simple headset, and I played spirit with my 7.1 surround sound headset new and absolutely nothing changed. Sure, you have technically more points where you can hear the sound coming from, but in reality you won't even notice that.
I really want survivor mains to realize something about spirit: Do you know how much spirit changes the gameplay for killers? Playing spirit is playing a different game.
When you have tons of hours on killer like me, or like any other killer main, you have developed some kind of...accurate vision. I mean, we, killers, rely A LOT on vision. We are oversensitive with our eyes and sound. I'd say that having an accurate vision is like 70% of the gameplay and 30% sound.
Of course sound helps, but just when you are looping to guess where they will come from, or to know where they are going when you are blinded so you won't keep the track on them.
But when you play spirit, the whole gameplay suddenly changes. It's like...90% sound and 10% vision at least when you are in the spirit realm. You know how much can this fuc k your mind if you are a main killer. I can guarantee you it's hard. Unless of course, your are every time playing Spirit.
I just wrote this really long reply because I wanted to stop the common sentence of "spirit is easy", coming from salty survivors who got beaten up by some random spirit.
I'm my case I almost never play spirit just because of this issue. Playing spirit is just playing another game.
-
Even if I'm a killer main and I know how it feels to go against red ranks 4 man SWF and sweaty gen rushers, I think SWFs are actually good for the game.
Because you know, I have tried to play survivor some time, and playing solo is kinda boring. It's not the same as playing killer where you are the whole team yourself, because when you play solo survivor you depend on other people.
So teaming up with your friends can be more fun than going solo.
Once in this forum I found a guy that changed my mind about SWFs. With a really simple explanation. I'll make it short here.
There are basically 2 types of SWFs:
- Just friends playing together and having fun: when you play killer you won't even notice this type of SWFs and they will appear to you like solo survivors. Unless of course, you find some weird behavior like healing together the whole time, they are saving them together the whole time...you know. Sometimes you can notice because when you are almost about to kill somebody, their friend gets angry and crazy.
- Sweaty SWAT 4 man red rank teams: these kind of SWFs are the real problem. They are usually gods at looping and gods at gen rushing. You pretty much have no option against them, unless you are playing with a god tier killer with god tier perks and you are in a good map for that killer. Also, their mistakes will determine whether you win or not against these type of monster SWFs (by winning, I mean getting a ruthless or a merciless, if you are good killer main you play for scoring, not kills).
The last type are the real problem in this game.
Even tho, I REALLY think that the game should show the killer which people exactly are teamed up with who. That's useful information.
And I don't think killers will just easily dodge, unless they find a 4 man SWF with tons of hours at the game. And this is rare.

You can totally be banned for that and it has happened and discussed here on the forums even not long ago. If a survivor on the receiving end records the game, you will get banned. Just count your blessings because it hasn't happened to you. Yet.
If you run into this kind of trolls, you down them immediately. NEVER EVER follow them around to be shown where the other survivors are.
You're sorrily mistaken when you say you're taking advantage of a person who's trolling if they rat out their teammates and you go along with it. You are actually teaming with them and IT IS your fault. Taking advantage of their trolling without fault is to kill them when they run up to you.
Also, saying that one can be banned only for 3rd party programs is total misinformation that you should stop spreading.
Back to the OP, you did nothing wrong. You're allowed to choose your target. You're allowed to give hatch. In your story, Feng didn't help you in any way to kill Quentin. There was no teaming involved.
Well, thanks for the information.
I come from games like League and there, you can just kill trolls and that's not bannable. Maybe I'm biased by my experience.
In my opinion, games with trolls in it should end fast, because the other 3 don't deserve to play at a disadvantage.
If I was playing survivor and I knew that I was playing with trolls, I'd rather get killed fast and skip that game, it's a waste of time playing a 3vs1 at 5 gens unless the survivors are stealth gods or loop gods.
Anyways, if you said that people were banned for doing that and there's a risk in case somebody records the game, I'll take it into account to stop doing it if I find a troll to avoid unnecessary bans. Thanks.

sadly i disagree here because im not even a full 2 weeks in the game i can play a brand new killer ive never played before and still kill all 4 survs even when its a game of swf red ranks so this is totally disgree with it is actually harder to play surv then it is to play a killer and the sad part is i can do this using a level 1 killer so if you are having issues playing killer and think it is hard to do then you arent very observant in your matches or hard of hearing because its easy to follow red scratches and to hear survs crying out in pain etc its very easy to track if someone jumped in a locker even without making a sound etc so i do really disagree here
Ok, you can have a different opinion than me, and that's fine.
But sadly, that's not the reality.
Don't take this as an offense, but maybe you need more experience at the game, you need to see what top level killers actually think about the game...etc.
Killer being harder than survivor is a fact, and I'm not "mad" about it. That's how the game it is, until it becomes more balanced.
Sure, playing killer at brown ranks can be easy-peasy, but when you start playing the game more, ranking up, and seeing the actual reality of the game, your mind will change.
By this, I'm not saying that playing survivor is easy.
Playing survivor is easier than playing killer.
There's a little difference between those statements.
Have a good day.

Yes, but there's something to be said about the frequency of it today it seems.
I hope that they fix it. Because when it happens, it's gg.
It happened to me just before playing with pig, and I could get out of that place using that dash attack. But when I was walking, I did it super slow. Even if you get out of it, you still have problems.
-
On the one hand, teaming up with survivors is actually a legit reason for a ban.
But on the other hand, how can a moderator actually prove that you are teaming up with them? It's almost impossible to prove to prove.
Giving the hatch to the last survivor is optional, and the killer can do it. They won't ban you for that.
The typical scenario for that ban reason to be applied will be this:
Let's imagine you find a troll survivor, who will go with you and reveal their teammate's positions. This could be considered "teaming up" with survivors but...
Can you really get punished by this?
I don't think so.
You are just taking advantage of a person who's trolling, it's not your fault. It's their fault.
So who must be punished? Obviously, not you.
I have found this type of trolls in my matches as killer, and my behavior has always been the same.
I take advantage of the information those survivors are giving me, and I finish the game quickly.
It's no use playing the game normally when you find trolls like that.
It happens in every team game. For example, you can find trolls in League of Legends who will feed the enemy team. Do they ban people who take advantage of these trolls in LoL? NOPE. They just ban these type of people, and we are good to go. In DbD, it's the same.
Never fear threats coming from survivors. You will never be banned unless you are using 3rd party apps to cheat.
In this game, like in ALL online games, moderators don't even care about written toxicity (insults, gg ez...etc).
So never use cheats and you'll be completely fine and secure (that's what I do).
-
Wow, you have my respect.
If more survivors like you would acknowledge the reality that killer is harder than survivor, the toxicity will lessen for sure.
I'm still ok with that, because I love challenges, and If I get a merciless killer I know that I'm way better than those 4 survivors I faced.
Now you really understand why main killers like me, or like famous ones like Otz or tru3, we are really patient and strategic people. Because that's the nature of playing killer.
-
I don't know why do you even question yourself things like that.
If they all are wasting time around the hook, you just take advantage of that and get free hits and downs.
I wonder what's the rank of all your "friends" (because I don't think a friend should want you dead IRL), because that's the typical play-style of low rank survivors. Gathering in group and literally suiciding.
Also, I never understood why survivors are always concerned about "camping" and "tunneling". If they killer does that, just gen rush and finish, not a big deal. Who complains about this, just shows their low skill at the game.
-
I'm a main killer myself, but also I know something about survivor obviously (I have to know my enemy in order to face it).
You are indeed extremely right, killer is harder than survivor, and one reason for this is that every killer is different.
Making every survivor different would definitely balance this game more, and certainly, more fun to play.
If every survivor has downsides and upsides, even I would want to play survivor.
The only reason I don't like playing survivor is because I get bored of them in 2 or 3 games. It's like playing the same thing again and again = boooring.
Each killer has its unique identity and power, and it's so cool being a killer main.
Also, playing killer is playing dbd in hard mode, and playing survivor is playing dbd in easy mode. Thus, I prefer killer.
