Well played, but please don‘t make behavior think she is in a good spot!

I can‘t quite understand how they lost that bad as high prestige’s, but they might not know how she works or ignore condemned. You got a bit lucky with the map it’s mostly deadzones after you broke some pallets. And please explain to me how your gens aren‘t flying.

Thx! I do think that they all played well. Two of them had com player on their profiles so take that how you want. I dont think comp means anything so.... Prestige also doesnt mean a lot.

As you can see, one of them was a TTV and i later watched their stream and found out that this team was a 3man or even a 4man with one leaving at a later point. They where pretty fun to watcch, but thats besides the point.

This match does not portrait how good Sadako is. The survivors did nopt play optimally. They goofed around from time to time and went for flashlight saves. This makes game way longer than they have to be. I presume that gens didnt go that fast because i was constantly applying some form of pressure. Either i was near them, chasing them or they had tapes to do. Gens slow down if nobody can work on them. I also changed the survivors i chased constantly.

These survivors did not play around me very well, no offence at all. I play almost optimally with one of the strongest addon combinations against people that go for flashlight saves. One addon being way stronger than it should be btw.... (ring drawing is bugged). She struggles hard.

This here is by far my longest match: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RA3qNNHUtJE

Also against very decent survivors (at least that was my perception). Its a rougher match on treament theatre. Please keep in mind, that this is one of her better maps and that i try to play optimally.

I played her after the update and it’s a terrible experience. I wouldn‘t advice anyone to play her.

Her condemned is not existent and her teleport is in it‘s weakest state ever.

They should give us her first version back, it was the best in terms of gameplay. You could chose between condemned and chase and you got good results with both ways. Now her teleport is weak AF and condemned is non existent.

Many people said she was weak in her first version, where I disagree. She was a really fun and good killer, but not for everyone, which is fine. They should have buffed her first version and she would have been perfect.

    @Chocolate_Cosmos said:

Looks like nobody is playing her. I can't even test how bad she is (read: how easy she is to beat) atm.

I wish she has again the global stacks when not holding tapes. I think that could work if you just nerf a bit the ammout of stacks you quickly gaining. Lets say you get 1/2 stack (half) per teleport and you only get like 1+1/2 stacks if you get hit with the tape holding, etc. I think this is the only way to make her slowdown impactfull. 16m on powered TV is kinda meh, since Survivors know the range, disable it at no cost, etc. Its joke.

    @squbax said:

Old sadako was a mid killer, old billy was a bad one,why play the mid killer that got nerfed when you could play the one who got buffed from being useless to actually being semi-decent?

    @mustdogen said:

    Not surprised at all

Before the nerf she is already a weak killer.

She is now a MM who can't get to teir 3

I get people condemned! Wanna see how unhealthy it is? (My matches take literally around 12 min each)

    Gas heaven match: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ej3ZHR1JM4I

I have two things to say about that game.

The first is that survivor your playing against haven't done a gen in 5 minutes. At 10:00, they are still at 3 gens.... after 5 more minutes has passed and everyone is still alive. the first gen they pop is at 5:12 minutes. I wish my games were this slow. A strong team would be at like 1 gen.

Secondly, Nea got condemned at around 4:27. Why didn't you mori her? Nea's play makes no sense but your play makes less sense.

Your not a magician. The team your playing against is not good. The condemn works for player that play like Nea. New player that do not know what they're doing.

I knew that you would say that. I waited for it.

This was a match where she actually felt powerful. Why did she feel that way? Because, as you said it yourself : they played bad.

I didn't want to stomp, so I gave them more chances.

Wanna see matches against VERY decent survivors next? You can choose : Rpd, Azarovs, Gas heaven, Erie of crows and treatment theater. The last one is 20min.

She's good against unaware survivors. Not good against decent survivors.

Shes undertuned. I'm winning because I'm literally super sweating against even decent survivors.

  • @crogers271 said:

It definitely weakened survivors. Not the most massive nerf ever, but extra gen kick strength and no gen tapping are benefits the killer gets in every game, survivors will see the anti-3 gen mechanic come into play incredibly rarely.

    Because killers 3gen less often?

Isnt that a good thing? Many people here contained about certain killers starting the match only to 3gen. This should be gone now.

you can't stop entire team from doing that. Your 1 killer against 4 survivors. I can only be in 1 place at once but survivor can be in 4 places at once. The best way to get condemn kills right now is to burn Gideon's offering or Hawkin Offering and TP spam televisions. you don't hook anyone. You only spam TV's until someone is condemned.

On those two maps, you can use videotape copy add-on which increases projection radius by +2 meters. those two maps are small enough that condemn is almost global and unavoidable. I burned 10 map offering and got condemn kills in every game on those maps. In terms trying to this on like Badham preschool, it is not worth it.

I still get condemn moris without what you describe. I must be a magician then.

I'm think I'm gonna upload my matches to YouTube. I think you havr to see to understand.

    Edit: here i go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9OhBytP46Y

This was a really good match , showcasing why she can still work.

  • @Chocolate_Cosmos said:

I am not playing her until she is giga buffed. There is no reason to play her. Wraith is much better and Wraith isn't top tier killer mind you.

There is a reason to play her.

Dedication. I genuinely want this character to succeed. The best I can do right now is play her, record my gameplay and look at the problems she has.

(something that should maybe not come down to some dedicated people)

  • @Reckall said:

I played only Sadako yesterday. Against new/clueless players she can destroy a group in seconds. Against players that have a clue there is little that you can do. The PTB version was fine. Let's just revert to that, shall we?

Thx! I'm glad more people understand now. Balancing around people that are completely oblivious to her mechanic is not balancing.

And for the people that want to tell me something about kill rates right now : I'm relatively certain, that she doesn't even drop that hard right now. Why would she? She got 2 reworks in 8 months. I can't blame people for not keeping up with any update on a complex killer design. It's 100% understandable that people are clueless right now.

But if they start to understand and show basic level awareness, her power just crumbles to ash.

Tunneling off hook creates immense pressure on the survivor, making them prone to silly mistakes that gets them downed faster, especially due to the fact they are missing a health state. A 3v1 creates more pressure than not tunneling and that's why tunneling is so common, especially because it requires little skill. Why would they do it if it didn't create pressure? You tunnel the weak link out and it's ggs.

I don't do it. If I camp, I go for the unhooker. It's mostly the instances where I get bodyblocked by the u hooked survivor, that I decide to tunnel.

Defencive measures should not be used offencively.

    • 5 Games adding the first Killer perk
    • 5 Games adding the second Killer perk
    • 5 Games adding the third Killer perk
    • 10 Game mid test
    • 5 Games with one brown add on
    • 5 Games adding a second brown add on
    • 10 Game Final Test

    Yay GRADUATED!!! 🎉🎉🎉🥳🍾🎊

You can only use the base skin and weapon until you graduate.

I’m learning Hillbilly and I’m using the old Speed Limiter add on while doing chainsaw only. My Hillbilly gameplay has improved remarkably. I wouldn’t worry about losing too much either, the MMR really helps fix that.

If you practice chainsaw only you WILL be tempted to use your hammer. DON’T. That is half the battle. If you have any beginner related Hillbilly questions I will try my best to answer! 😊😊😊

    Wow. I love your attitude.

Gonna write your steps down. 😍

  • @Pulsar said:

I don't really want to lose a hundred games in a row to learn Billy.

I haven't gone back to learn any of the old Killers I didn't play because of MMR and the lack of a decent learning environment.

It really sucks because Billy seems fun but I literally can't learn ######### in 5 minute matches.

Just seems like BHVR's matchmaker encourages you to never diversify your character roster.

Im sorry to tell you of all people this but: learn to lose. If you play badly, you shouldnt win your matches. Learning is part of the progress.

I dont want to be that guys, but if you just want to have enough time learning, play customs or slap on grim embracre, deadlock, dms and corrupt.

I think many people here on the forums would gladly play customs with you so that you have time to learn.

  • @Thusly_Boned said:

People have gotten into the details, but here's my tl;dr on why I'm peeved:

Sadako started out as a low-mid tier killer, an absolute noob stomper, but fell off hard against good competition unless you play like a dbag.

Then they buff her, but into a killer that almost fostered a really braindead and unhealthy play style.

Then we get teased with a rework back toward her original state but better. Then the rework implements some exciting new mechanics, but has some shortcomings that the community give feedback on.

But then they seemingly ignore the feedback, didn't fix what needed to be fixed and essentially gutted the positive changes for totally nonsense reasons, leaving her in her weakest state yet.

She's not the weakest killer in the game, but if you're a Sadako enjoyer, it's been a demoralizing ride.

    Agree!

Ive been playing a lot yesterday. In one word: shes weak. The power feels undertuned. The nerfs need to be reverted and the insertion animation increased to 2seconds asap.

  • @Devil_hit11 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3639782#Comment_3639782

all the mechanic is doing right now is making survivor spread out and do gens. they can walk to a tv, take out a tape, walk to other side of the map near gen, do 20% of a gen, then put a tape to close tv for 70 seconds. Even if there was no cooldown, I'm unable to teleport. survivors countering you is like worse then freddy.

But where are you when they walk across the map? Your leting them do it.

Im not saying that you can interrupt them, but you can put up a fight and at least not let them do 20% of the gen.

  • @mikewelk said:

Tunneling is the main reason people give up on solo queue. Some could argue it's camping, but why would you camp if you don't want to tunnel? Tunneling in itself is a viable strategy but it comes to a point where tunneling at five gens, unprovoked, is getting normalized. It kills any motivation to play the game. Tunneling is so common that if it doesn't happen I get surprised that I'm literally experiencing a once normal game of DBD.

You sometimes want to camp to get the first hit for free in a chase. Spreading pressure you know? Tunneling off hook = not spreading pressure.

If I want to find someone, I know that at least 2 people are at the hook.

  • I personally can't blame people for being harsh with blight right now. They wanted real nerfs and what they see are new partially unfair addons and a buff.

Sure, some people can't be bothered to read. That's not good too.

  • @Devil_hit11 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3639743#Comment_3639743

by design, it will never do anything because you need hook survivors two times to lock-in 4 stacks but when your on death hook, condemn is irrelevant. you can just use ebony mori offering. It is better than her power.

The only way lock-in was ever going to do anything is if you hook someone with like 4-5 stacks of condemn, then tunnel someone off-hook(5-6 stack of condemn), slug the survivor under a tv then tp to skip 1 hook-state when survivor is picked up. This was designed failure from very start of the ptb.

I'll push condemn when the mechanic does something.

It does do something. It's the cooldown that prohibits it being built up effectively and the lock on that doesn't want you to hook because it's too weak. You DID not have to tunnel on Ptb. The mechanic was strong enough to spread condemn and hooks across all survivors.

If you want to watch some gameplay of it working great and it working awful, I have examples for both.

One Pump Willie made a whole video about this. Basically survivors can't be bothered to pick up tapes.

Balancing about the most unaware survivors is not good.

  • @Devil_hit11 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3639644#Comment_3639644

condemn is noob-stomp mechanic now. it only works vs weaker survivors/new players. you win faster by being an m1 killer then using the ability. i am winning with sadako by just hooking people 3 times. Sadako's ability is unsatisfying to use.

Im still pushing condemn. I lose 3 - 4 gens before it starts to do something. That's worse than back then and I'm using ring drawing.

    That's really bad.

  • @OneGoodBoyDemo said:

After playing several games with her, l can say that sadako is not as bad as people are saying.

she’s definitely a lot more fun to play and my matches with her haven’t been bad despite the nerfs. Of course we can agree that some changes were unnecessary and some don’t even make sense in relation to tunneling.

People are saying that the condemned mechanic is useless which is something that l have to disagree and my games with her was already showing this since at least l was able to kill 2 survivors fully condemned on each match.

l’m realizing that even though the survivors are on death hook, they’re still wasting time with the tapes, which doesn’t make much sense since they’re going to die anyway, no matter if it’s by the hook or condemned.

something that isn’t impacting me much is the condemned cooldown. Being able to teleport at any time across the map is so great, even though you can’t spread condemned, you can still get a little pressure if you’re an experienced Sadako.

anyway this is my opinion on Sadako according to my matches and l feel some people are exaggerating a bit about the changes and l’m sure people are complaining without even testing the changes, that always happens anyway….

I have video evidence of how bad she can be and how useless condemned is against decent people.

With all my experience, I have to disagree. She's in a really rough spot right now.

To use projection is not worth it without condemned. Her chase is too bad.

She's goodish against unaware people, which are a lot right now. SHE GOT REWORKED TWO TIMES. I can't blame anyone for not knowing how she plays now.

The worst feeling is, when the strong swf realizes how useless her power cna be and starts to rub it in. It's really awful.

I had games where her power worked alright, but then, it was only because the survivors did not play effective by any means. Having a killers power and effectiveness being based on survivors being completely oblivious is horrible balancing.

    @MechWarrior3 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/404024/people-are-overreacting-about-sadako-nerfs

I gotta tag you in this @radiantHero23

if you were able to kill two people via condemn, then those survivors completely ignored her counter play it takes her 10 seconds every teleport to condemn someone if they’re even near a TV of 16 m.

(which by the way, her counter play to condemn, is the easiest thing to do if you have slightly a brain left. There are multiple counters to her condemn, and there’s nothing she can do about it.)

The people that made this character are in mid to high MMR. I might as well play trapper…

Not to mention survivors can counter her more than ever now, especially with TVs being shut off by survivors of 70 seconds plus you have to add the 10 second cool down to even get the condemn.

She’s in the worst state and she’s ever been. I’ve been playing this character since the beginning..it’s not an exaggeration. She’s just awful.

She has no anti-loop and no chase, no problem fine, but that means her power needs to be strong. Hence her condemn. It’s extremely weak.

Nobody wanted a cool down on her and it wasn’t even needed. nobody asked for the cool down to be brought back, in fact, the developers took it away, because it ruined her synergy, and everybody hated it, then, for some reason they decided to return it.

Before assuming that some of us haven’t even tested the changes, that would be an accurate before we posted our feed. Some of us spent several hours testing the changes.

you don’t have to run over a nail with your car to know it’s bad for your car, you don’t need to test that to make sure 👍

    Well said.

As I said, I have collected video evidence now. If someone wants to watch me suffer, I can turn on the vcr. Maybe she'll greet us and release us from this nightmare.

I have no problem with sweating in dbd. I like to play good. It feels rewarding.

Sadako doesn't feel rewarding. The player has to do way more than the opponents.

The power is so undertuned that one has to outperform by a mile to get value against good survivors.

  • @mikewelk said:

Billy is genuinely VERY overtuned. I refused to play the PTB just to see him come to main game in the same state. Kind of reminiscent of when Xeno came and everyone was preaching how balanced she was without actually having a point to justify how absurd the ability was.

The menu screen had to be busy work. Really similar situation with the character portraits, just made stuff worse and look less professional. And they are apparently overloaded with priorities lol.

Alan Wake's perks are just Shrine of Secret garbage level. Will probably see them every three weeks on the shrine.

STBFL is just a waste of a perk slot now.

The list goes on but yeah it's literally insane what's going on.

no killer should have weaker add-on than others. every killer deserves good add-on set and good base-kit. blight included. Blight has good base-kit and his add-on's are still decent. my only issues is that i dislike iri tag and c33 as add-on concepts. The whole near almost guaranteed hit is not a fun concept for survivor to play vs. other than that, I have no issues with blight.

If every killer has addons of similar strength, while having basekit of various strength levels, we end up with some being way stronger than others.

    That's what we want?

i know what the add-on does, my point is for an IRI add-on you are taking away her strongest trait and that is to build condemn on survivors and add pressure to them throughout the duration of the game. I would say by removing this you are effectively removing her power and you might as well play any other teleportation killer in that instance, like dredge or freddy (who at least both have some kind of anti-loop too).

This could easily be one of those meme brown add-ons for extra BP, not her iridescent.

It should have been buffed (as told in the Ptb feedback)

It's a running gag at this point.

  • Bruh...

    Really?

We finally got rid of the unfair distance. It should stay that way. If you want distance on command, use the exhaustion perk from Nic Cage.

The thing that bothers me in this situation is there's a handful of survivors who think it's justified because of 2.0 Sadako slugging, tunneling and spamming. Which I find increasingly ironic since my survivor matches against Sadakos end up in slug fests, tunneling and attempted condemned 'spamming' through slugging and picking up like 1.0, just without the Ring Drawing.

On my end with Sadako, I have now heavily relied on Bamboozle and Dissolution to cut down as much loop time as possible while still running VCR/DMS for time since Condemned doesn't gain much at all. My only saving grace is my prior knowledge of her M1 game, because VCR is way less effective now that TV auras are a thing, it's quite a difference.

Im still pushing condemned. All my games are nothing but pure stress. It's really like back then, just worse. I have ring drawing autolocked because I want to get anything from hooking people.

If you want gameplay of me suffering, I can provide.

  • DO NOT PLAY SADAKO

  • I'm now recording my matches.

I have video evidence of how awful she is.

The matches get increasingly frustrating... More and more survivors find out about how useless my power is and start bming. It honestly is just heartbreaking. I rarely got this depressed over a game. Ever.

This is not what we wanted. This is horrible.

    Exactly! Agreed!

Slugging is really quite easy to achieve if you stall the game enough. She's a stealth killer, it's her bread and butter to injure someone, leave, come back later, get a down, and then quickly rinse and repeat.

C omitting to a specific chase can be a HUGE time investment if the survivor is playing well, but that's the healthy gameplay we're all looking for. So she needs a strong incentive to do it.

A killer with a weak chase NEEDS slowdown. Pig comes to mind.

Honestly those 4 changes + half stacks for survivors on different elevations (similar to how AFC works) and she's pretty much there.

Viable, not oppressive, and most importantly, fun for people playing her, and I'd say outside of being completely ignorant of how she works, fun to face too.

I rotted for something else in regards to Gideon. Just delete 1 or 2 tvs on that map. It won't hurt her mobility due to the maps size.

Otherwise: just rework this awful map. Shes not a problem. The map is.

  • I hate to repeat myself. But this could have been prevented easily.

She was good on Ptb. If they just pushed her live with no changes whatsoever, she would have been flawed but acceptable. The nerfs just make her unsalvagable. I played 6 games yesterday. I won 2 of them. It was by old build with ring drawing and videotape copy.

If the survivor team has any awareness, her power just crumbles. It's so sad to see.

I really tried to make her work but her power limit with all these nerfs is incredibly low. I can't blame anyone for not wanting to play her. She's just too weak. That's what it boils down to.

She's still very oppressive on Gideon meat plant though because the map is horribly designed (another aspect I wrote about on the Ptb feedback). I guess if you want to win at all costs, send yourself there.

One thing that has definitely returned from old Sadako. She's a complete sweat fest if you want to do well against people that are aware. You have to outperform by a mile to have basic results.

Please BHVR give her the adjustments that she needs.

    No cooldown

No limit on locked in stacks

    2 second tape insertion

    No TV auras shown

    This has to happen ASAP!

"Current meta adjustments seem to be more concerned with nerfing perks that players enjoy using instead of buffing the low tier perks.

And this is really bad, especially when it affects perks that do not require nerfs, like Adrenaline."

    ^ this

Adrenaline does not need a Nerf, but I feel that they think it needs to be toned down, because it is used more often than Perks which are just not as good. And the right thing should be to buff the weak Perks to a stronger Level. To give options. E.g. I think they did a good Job with Background Player. It is not weak anymore, but also not busted and you see it being used. (Yes, it sucks if a Survivor gets a Flashlight-Save with it, but I never felt that it was unfair when it happened to me)

I really wish they would put more time into just trying to buff older and weaker Perks and experiment more with them. I would not mind if they pick 5 Perks on each side and change them for a Midchapter and if they are either too strong or still too weak, change them again in the next Chapter until those 10 Perks are decent. And then move on to the next Perks.

I have to say this here.

Last night, I played Sadako (guess why) and I picked someone up only for an Ada to walk run straight into me with champion of Light and background player. She was so fast that she was not able to control the flashlight and just spun around. I rarely laughed that hard in dbd.

I think he got shadow nerfed. I don't know exactly but I heard that rush tokens are now not charged during the animation when he breaks pallet with M2.

    I haven't heard that.

But other than this, which could be a bug, there are no basekit adjustments.

What? You mean even with an absurdly ridiculous amount of slowdown people still tunnel? Everything I read on the forums is a lie?

    /s

I forgot they were also changing GE from 'on hook' to 'when the killer walks away finally'. So yeah, we're literally back to the 'survivors just wait it out' meta. Fantastic.

Some people will always tunnel. No matter what you do.

Lol. Who do you think they'll be coming for once they're satisfied with Blight? Enjoy nurse while she lasts.

Meanwhile I'm crying with Sadako in her well...

lmao hell yeah, zero viable killers here we come!

    ?

I've only played killer since, and I've seen plenty, probably an average of one per game. Also 50% of survivors using flashlights.

That's a win in my book.

Yeah, for real. He went 400% basekit power level to what 100% or less easily. Def didn't get nerfed.

    His basekit got nerfed?
