As you can guess my Survivor experience isn't usually one that's fun most of the time, especially since for whatever reason I almost never come across Billy, Blight, and Oni.

  • I find this hilarious. The real bully squad isnt around anymore or at least incredibly rare. I think most people dont know how these groups actually look like and looked like. The group in Otz video definitely isnt abully squad. Just people that want to have a fun time.

I hope that people finally realize that flashlights are actually more healthy for the game due to their nature of encouraging interaction between killer and survivor in a meta and mmr system, that encourages to have as little interaction as possible.

    I take your four -flashlight-squad over :

    • 3 med kits + one toolbox + strong addons
    • 2 med kits + 2 toolboxes + strong addons
    • one med kit + 3 toolboxes + strong addons
    • 4 med kits + strong addons
    • 4 toolboxes + strong addons

every day. At least they want to enjoy the game as much as I do.

Yeah that is why I am so tired of these killers complaining about it prevents their look up at wall pick up technique. Cause if flashbangs did not do that, then they sorta would be worst than flashlights. That look up at wall technique is so annoying anyways.

    You mean the counterplay?

  • It was supposed to be the first meaningful change.

I wouldn't mind it being basekit, but I still feel Map of the Realm is just not needed to plkay the Knight as his full potential. That being said, whoever likes using it, more power to you. It's just not my cup of tea. I value Dried Horsemeat much more, as it makes your guards get free hits far more often.

    You are a saint!

I tried it out and it actually works!

    Thank you!!!

  • "Stop blabbering. It's really annoying."

  • @BLACKMENACE8086 said:

Call me crazy but wouldn't a perk that increases the size of anticamp be so good for the game? It would always be on the killers mind so if they try to cheese the camp meter by standing a little ways away they're still in range with this perk. It's a different type of antitunneling which we've only really seen with reassurance and I think it could be awesome!

Depends on whether or not the devs want proxy-camping to go away as they wanted face-camping to go away.

My bet on their answer based on previous statements and changes would be: no.

  • Fun killer, that suffered from the sentiment, that "all killers start strong but get nerfed when they come out." I think many people have stopped enjoying Xeno after the original tail nerf. Not saying, that the cooldown change wasnt necessary. On top of that, the hitbox had numerous bugs and had to be fixed at least 3 times.

    As people already pointed out:

    Cons:

    • shift w + predrop is boring to play against (seemingly not boring to play as, as so many people do it despite the killer in play not having a strong chasing power)
    • smart usage of turrets can lead to playing without a power, which feels awful.
    • Hitbox of tail and animation still dont aling in many cases, leading to questionable looking hits and misses. (I know why it didnt hit. Doesnt make it less frustrating though)
    • Tail is similar to other powers

    Pros:

    • Cool animations and sound design
    • Cool skins
    • Amazing and iconic license
    • Fun addons
    • Great perk synergy
    • Strong antiloop
    • the tunnels

I played Xeno a lot and wanted my next P100 project to be Xeno when it came out. Sadly, due to the mentioned problems, the killer can feel very frustrating at times, which is why my Jill is now getting leveled.

I still play Xeno once or twice a session.

Really!? Hah, that's amusing. Yeah the terrain is what makes it a pain, and Torrent lifts you up higher so significantly less frustrating, and ofc you can clear away whenever he blows up the floor.

... Lighting would have been very handy indeed 😭

Also Alexander. 😢 Absolute legend. I was surprised I could break him free with my pyromancies... glad I didn't have to leave him stuck, though I couldn't get to him at Volcano Manor... There was a big 100% fireproof lizard in my way... what I didn't know is his ledge in Faram Azula has a Dragon on it if Alexander isn't there... man killed a damn dragon to be there 😅

Though the end of Millicents questline is always my where my stoney heart cracks though... 😓

The only time I've ever managed to bring myself to betray her was when I was doing my Millicent run, and I REALLY needed her prosthetic hand for build. I could justify it on the grounds that... I was Millicent... so technically I couldn't betray her 😅

10 measily lines of dialogue and the NPCs in these games somehow manage to really upset me 😔

    • Siegmeyer of Catarina
    • Quelana
    • Solaire
    • Eileen the Crow
    • Adrianna
    • Sirrus of the Sunless Realms
    • Siegward of Catarina
    • Millicent
    • Rya
    • Alexander
    • Blaidd and Iji

    The list is endless 😓😓😓

    True…

Alexander specifically has so much depth. At least for me.

"All vessels are destined to one day break. But the great Alexander lived as a warrior to his last!"

    Hehehe cheers muchly!

Hmm... area wise I had a lot of fun in the caves of the Moghwyn Dynasty, which was an antithesis of the area just before it. I was able to blow everything up with Giants Flame Take Thee... and 10 msn kills in 1 shot is always a good time... and the Sanguine Nobles got destroyed like Gideon xD

Raya Lucaria internals and rooftops was quite a lot fun surprisingly. I got to go for some pretty nutty long range fireballs, and it was nice to pay back all the mages for all the pain of previous runs with some long range pyromancy of my own 😈

Boss fights, the Tree Sentinels and the Tree Spirits tended to get blown up... not good against fire it seems.... all Kindred Gargoyles were a pain, but usually if you run hard and roll like a lightning Ram while they have their swords out, and only attack against axes is usually fine 😁

Malenia was ofc a highlight, but then again, I consider her the best fight in all Soulsborne games, so there is bias there. Though the fact Whirl O'Flame was unironically useful still blows my mind xD

I actually did very well against Morgott this time, who is usually an major Achilles Heel for me in every run. First time I probably enjoyed that fight. 🤔

Otherwise Radagon and Elden Beast was fun. Throwing spells at Radagon was quite intense, as he can parry them, so you need to bait attacks from him and be ready to hurl a Giants Flame, and getting a window to run up and throw a max charged Burn O'Flame to roast Elden Beasts untanned regions was always cathartic. They were probably lying my highlights xD

But yeah, no Torrent run is a rough time... I know mostly where I'm going in Elden Ring, but you'll be surprised how much you miss/forget when you can't look around with Torrent 😅

You mentioned, that Fire Giant was a pain without Torrent. I honestly didnt even know that I was even able to use Torrent during that fight. I love to do Alexanders quest and always summon him to aid me. Feels right to me. This however seems to negate the ability to use Torrent, so I never used the good steed for the fight. Its not that hard though from my experience. Try to fry the big man with ancient dragons lightning strike.

I find the rocks in the area to be more of a challenge to deal with…

Great to read this morning with my coffee. Glad to see you get back into it and have some fun finishing your run. No torrent…that had to be rough, like masochist-level pain for sure. I might have overlooked it in the passages, but did you have a favorite area/boss when you were doing this? Poor Gideon 😂

Im sorry, but I have little sympathy for old Gideon. The rings man….

    Finally finished this run!

Sharpened my skills up again for Shadow of the Erdtree, not quite so afraid of it now 😅

Not that you aksed, but kinda riding a high and want to share... Notable moments: -

    • Not using Torrent was mostly not too bad... but was really ass at times... looking at you Fire Giant and Consecrated Snow Field... lets get that out of the way... 😑
    • Starting spell Flame Sling was good enough was nice for throwing from safety. Requires you to lock on, then unlock and aim up a lot to account for the arc, but you getbused to it... Dropped off by end game, but was great while it lasted.
    • Catch Flame (the ER Combustion) is Godlike for a Quelana run... this spell was my bread and butter for so long, and still came up now and again at end game for quick rapid fire damage. Also helped me a lot of a blue phantom.
    • O' Flame (ER Greater Combustion) would be excellent... except it has this annoying problem where if you use it immediately after a roll, it will fire in the direction of the roll instead of at your opponent... making it usually useless and you're better off using Catch Flame... the only time it became useful is when someone had a HUGE recovery window.
    • Whirl O' Flame (ER Fire Whip) was useless... too much FP, too slow and not enough damage. Almost always a better option.
    • Some combination of the above was mostly smooth sailing for anything you'd encounter. Flame Sling for poking at range (Margit, Godrick), Catch Flame for going in when you wanna just starting blasting (Rennala and Radahn).
    • Carian Manor was much easier... the hands weakness to fire made that much less painful...
    • The Godskins have pretty gnarly fire resistance... they were quite hard. Though strangely the big boy was easier because he couldn't dodge Flame Slings, so I could poke him down. The Godskin duo later was quite obnoxious, butvthabkfullybwe were getting pretty good with it damage output by that point.
    • Volcano Manor was fun... Rykard was impossible pretty quick I figured out, mathematically impossible to kill... and I couldn't believe how many fire proof enemies there were... the Fire Slugs I understand... but the lizards, the iron maiden sentinel things, and even the bats in Volcano Manor all took 0 damage... a lot of running in these areas xD
    • Giants Flame Take Thee (ER was a real game changer... knockdown on man sized enemies is busted... I literally stun locked Gideon and babombed him to death 🤣🤣🤣
    • The Fire Giant was miserable (I really questioned my no Torrent rule)... his first phase was actually fine, I could do a lot of damage to his foot.... but with that weakness gone, his second phase was dire... he has such good fire resistance obv, that it was an insane slow burn taking his health down. My eventual strategy was to have like 3 heals with the rest FP estus, save my fire boosted physik and use the ritual attack and defence at full HP boosts to get the most damage and just had to whittle him down.
    • Burn O'Flame (ER Fire Tempest) was actually pretty damn good against large enemies. Placidusax, Fortissax, etc it did great damage quickly.
    • Maliketh still has that weird attack where he stands still, leans back with a big swing, then just swings down and misses you... I kept getting it so Catch Flame minced him.
    • Mohg was another enemy with monstrous Fire Resistance (80% reduced damage)... I could technically kill him, but I need like 2 helath estus and 12 FP estus... every missed/not fully charged shot was very costly. You could get about 50% extra damage on a headshot, but that was so hard to free aim it was not a viable strategy.... especially in phase 2 where he is diving around splashing blood everywhere... couldn't use the Ritual Talismens strat because of teh random blood Flame crap he leaves in the environment... I had to use my Latenna Spirit in the end to beat him just to have some other source of damage 😖
    • Malenia was a GOATED fight as always, she dodges projectiles so Flame Sling and Giants Flame Take Thee was off limits, but Catch Flame and selective O'Flame could counter her and do work. Would you believe Whirl O'Flame was actually useful here? Because she dodges and advances as you throw projectiles, you cant use other projectiles, but with you can Whirl O'Flame she dodges it like a projectile, but because it hangs in the air it hits her as she advances... when you're fishing for Water Fowl, this move made it safe to keep chippi.g her until she threw it. I LoL'd when I realised this crap spell was my saviour vs. MALENIA of all bosses xD
    • Godfrey/Horaoh Loux was probably my most fun battle with him on this build. We had great damage, but he's fast with his attacks, but also punishes rolling away, I actually had to grow a pair and just stand and throw Giants Flames with him
    • Radagon and Elden Beast we're not as bad as I thought. I feared my damage would be bad as I know Elden Beast has high resistances and between them that's a lot of health. My fears dissipated quickly when I realised I was able to get 2k a hit on Radagon with Giants Flame... and Burn O' Flame was great against Elden Beasts fat rear end too!

You talking about ER got me back to finish this run... so thanking you Radiant... was a lot for fun. Also up yours Mohg... you creep. 😒

    Thats great to hear!!!

Im currently on my third run. Frostblade and blackflame is my current build. Friede-style.

Well, yeah, but let's be honest that's a rarity.

Most players aren't gonna intentionally make things harder for themselves

I'll never understand why everyone says Knight NEEDS map of the realm. I'm aware of what it does, but I've always felt its a crutch to be used when your starting as KNight, but should be taken off when you get better then him.

As a Knight Main, my addons of choice are Call to Arms and Dried Horsemeat, and I'd sooner take a bullet to the head then use anything else. They're just that damn good

Im gonna take your word for it. Im not that experienced as him. I feel like even when i place a guard right on top of a survivor or directly ahead of them, the range just doesnt fit to tag them. Am I doing something wrong?

  • @Pulsar said:

Nerfing flashlights and flashbang is a mistake.

Nerfing BGP is also a mistake, but it's less of a mistake than nerfing the former.

Sucks to have another perk deleted, but I don't see any other option to satiate people at this point.

I find it hilarious, that back when there where the true bully squad, with their ridiculous loadouts and items, one was ridiculed for calling them out. Now, a streamer has one bad match and suddenly its a huge problem.

I personally think BGP creates a ton of problematic situations, due to it nullifying the normal back and forth that is usually in play when a survivor goes for a flashy safe. It creates a ton of uncounterable situations.

Im just sick of this: suddenly its a problem because X popular streamer had one bad game.

We are all players. If its a major problem for all of us, it should be changed. Not because one player had one bad game.

  • @squbax said:

Do this and have a bunch of content creators saying the game is boring and nothing new is being added coupled with a ton of people complaining the game is stale and they need new content.

After than when a new killer or event is released people will literally complain regardless of the quality of the update because " all this time without content and they deliver this?", dbd players will complain and habe a tantrum regardless of what bhvr does, it has been a literal track record since 2016.

Why should bhvr do this change if the community will be as unhappy and whinny but they will get less money as a company due to less chapters per year? Literally shooting yourself in the foot.

I think the game would benifit massively in the long run. Even streamers have to see that.

Obviously yeah people have different tastes but Twins, SM, Chucky and Trickster?

I could see how maybe people have softened to Twins, even though they're slugging machines. Trickster is just, " You die if there's no high walls and if there are, you die slightly slower. Also, lmao, get camped."

Chucky is, "Scamper, go under pallet, M1, repeat.

I don't even need to mention SM.

Some people still try to play Chucky more fun and go for more interesting plays. I for myself do that.

If you get this kind of Chucky (the one that doesnt use scamper, except for when already running and screaming, the match is really fun.

  • Why do you last second switch???

Don´t get me wrong, leaving the lobby because of one more flashlight is not understandable from my point of view, but I have to ask: Why switch last second??? The killer propably thinks you have bad intentions.

  • Please for the love of god, don´t encourage people to do win streaks.

  • Knight could be so much fun to play. I love the multitasking you can pull off as him.

Sadly he is punished so much by being completely reliant on map of the realm and multiple bugs.

Desperately in need of some polishing. GET THAT ARMOR CLEAN!

  • So Clown can run across the map to protect a cross-map 5 gen?

    Id love to see that.

SImple question....why do you stand right neat hatch? Why do you just stand there you found hatch just go in. "Because I won and you lost." You were hooked, you've been injured and barely tried protecting your own teammates you rescued them but while I was like not even two centimeters away(for the American readers you don't know that's extremely short) so why are you teabagging hatch I'm not bothering to go near you because guess what I don't care this more me asking why not just go in. "Because I wanna give you BP." Hmmm doubt definitely doubt your going to go in by the time I make it to hatch no survivor ever just gives the killer BP. I won't lie...I would enjoy if they brought back the grab animation for hatch just so those way to overconfident players get their dreams crushed. I won't lie I only made this because I had to wait about four minutes while an Ada stood on hatch I broke some walls and pallets and just remained on the edge of the map your not really wasting my time but also yours and your SWF if their wanting to move on the next match.

Its the same as to why people tbag in the exit gate, hit on hook or the notorious "humping".

They can bm you because you can do nothing against it.

  • This game desperately needs a break from new content and an update that solely focusses on fixing problems in the code.

Its not ok, that problems reoccur that often (vault distance) and that every update brings a bunch of new seemingly unrelated bugs with it.

Id be fine with one major chaper being a "clean up"-chapter and not a new character. I think the game would profit massively in the long run.

Why make that distinction? Intention stays the same. You compare it to a crime, want it to be bannable but then are fine with it in small doses?

The one thing can be something that is not inteded. The other is clearly intended.

Then you would reduce it to once or twice making it look like they are looking for the pickup prompt similarly to when you scratch your forehead with a middle finger.

Probably the same way people are fine with playing a game where you kill people, another henious crime.

That's the point of the game though.

If dbd is about sexually assaulting survivors as killers, then let it be that. I definitely wouldn't be playing it anymore, but then I would be fine with it.

As I said before: if the devs are fine with it, they can as well tell the customer that it regularly happens in their game.

Killing is the point of dbd. R**e definitely isn't.

  • @alpha5 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3702293#Comment_3702293

Equating a couple of button presses with a heinous crime is a bit much.

It's literally what the player is implying by pushing these buttons.

I'm not reading anything into this. It's what happens.

The dbd community always had a problem with attitude, but there was always a fine line.

With this, people have crossed that line. Even a child gets told to not do things that are this inappropriate, but in dbd, people can do it to their hearts content.

Again, how are people fine with this?

  • @appleas said:

Everyone has a different definition of ingame toxicity. If devs define what toxicity is and punish people accordingly, people will start asking for more things to be added to the toxic list.

It's a never ending game of catchup. Not having an accessible replay system doesn't help either.

If the devs accept the stupid humping, they can just as well say in the adverts:

"It is common in our game, that your character will be sexually assaulted by other characters, but that's OK. Just dont take it too seriously."

How are people ok with this???

To be fair, that's very different than OP's scenario as we don't know the perks.

When I tried, maybe in 2020-2022, I found Third Seal to be a better perk for sowing confusion

Correct, the thing I'm doing is probably much worse, according to the feedback I receive. (End game chat is not that nice...)

I'd be curious, what the Singularity was running, but probably not a slugging build, otherwise they would not have hooked in the first place.

Gonna try third seal next few rounds of the experiment.

  • Killers are more worth it in the long run, perks are good right now.

Surge an lethal are incredibly good though.

Ultimately depends on you and if you want to eventually spend money for Demo and Nemesis.

    Not sure.

Feel like Pig is a underrated Killer at the moment and seems like a faithful adaptation.

The recent buffs didn't do much (guess we pig mains where correct... Maybe they will listen one day…)

She's underwhelming but by no means deserves a rework.

Her power is unique and faithful, as you said.

No changes needed. Especially no "buffs".

  • I think the Perk is unhealthy design. Is it strong? Depends.

  • Freddy.

    Why is Pig even mentioned???

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3702244#Comment_3702244

It doesn't really matter in that scenario though?

If they don't have UB, there's nothing they can do if they're downed. If they DC, then there's a bot, so their team is fine if they somehow recover. If they kill themselves on hook, well, the Killer isn't gonna hook without having all four downed, so the game is over.

Three people downed is, generally, unrecoverable.

Disagree. I am right now doing a knock out experiment on spirit.

Knock out, sloppy, surge and stbfl

I try to slug all before hooking to find out how strong this unhealthy perk is to have a valid opinion on this stupid perk.

Funnily enough, teams are surprisingly good against it. Even without unbreakable.

The game is not unwinnable just because the killer decides to slug one survivor to get sone pressure.

If this isn't about specific examples, then why are they given in the first place.

Just because I don't play anymore doesn't mean I don't keep watch of it. I genuinely want it to get better. It's so frustrating that I made a plan for myself in the event I do come back to the game. 5 total matches a day max and custom is exempt from this rule because bot matches are always chill.

It's a good movie, but don't go in expecting it to be as much Saw as we know it from some of the other films, but more of a good guy John anti-hero story that includes classic Saw elements. Revenge is also a big part of the story in this one. I'd say more narrative driven and, of course it's Saw so it's gorey, but I don't think it's nearly as gorey as Saw 2 or 3. I've seen more bodily fluids at a Gwar concert.

I really enjoyed it though. More story time with Amanda is all we want to be honest.

Why are you talking about that when the OP is asking what incentive there is to stay in a game where the Killer is tunneling or camping?

But the first example was the killer slugging for pressure, I see nothing wrong with that. Some singularities slug the whole game, because it makes the killer more effective.

OP gives up as the first one in the situation, which makes no sense to me.

Super big brain epic solution to replace the ws ws stuff: Killers should begin moonwalking on downed survivors instead.

They do and we support it by accepting it.

Maybe we should grow a pair and finally stand up against this crap.

A tbag at a pallet or gate is one thing, but going out of the way to hump a slug and keep them there is prime psycho stuff. I get legitimately sad when I have a good game and then this happens :( sours the whole match for me.

People commit SA because A) SA is about exerting power over somebody who can't fight back and B) they think they can get away with it

The reality is that humans are creatures of opportunity, and if we think we can get away with something, we perform a risk assessment. And sadly, playing killer is just the perfect environment and condition to impose one's mental unwellness upon others. This game, by design, presents survivors from defending themselves. And that, sadly, appeals to some people in the wrong way.

I love giving survivors sass and attitude, but I like to think nodding my head is more funny, appropriate and less likely to be taken the wrong way.

I have less problems with tbagging, nodding or animation spamming, but humping a survivor that is on the floor and can't do anything goes waaay too far.

When have things gotten this bad? Assaulting survivors, really? That's how bad our playerbase is?

So what? Are you really gonna let that piss you off? I give those people a double dose of their own medicine in return I don't let that bother me, they aren't even really doing anything they're moving back and forth and some immature kid decided that was what it meant

And that's exactly the mindset I'm talking about. We have grown this accustom to this bs that we actually accept this disgusting behaviour and therefore encourage people to do it.

If someone indicating sexual assault is not where we draw the line, then where is it? What is enough to make people realize that there is a really big problem with attitude in this game?

Don't get me wrong, Ivs grown accustom to these things over my 3.7k hours of playtime. However, that doesn't mean I accept it. I speak up about it. In what other game is it OK, that the playerbase literally r***s each other to taunt?

When did things get this bad???

Ban every survivor that T-bags and there would be no survivors left playing the game

You're reading too far into it

Dude. Killers are literally humping survivors. Im not reading into something here. Im just witnessing it.

I mean it's not very different than making jokes about beating people up or joking about jumping off a cliff.

As someone who is quite sensitive to topics regarding SA, tbagging and the like never struck me as a direct endorsement of SA but simply an extension of non-verbal trash talk and so I never minded it and even tbag myself sometimes.

That's just how I feel though, clearly other people are different.

Im not talking about tbagging here. Some killers are humping survivors. That is literally the killer sexually assaulting a survivor. I cant be the only one seeing that right?
